What a great find! An old fashioned feel of the soda fountain bar with a modern restaurant twist! They have all kinds of ice cream flavors for a variety of treats! Also, their whole menu (full lunch and dinner) has a great selection! The staff is wonderful! Such friendly customer service! Thanks for making our trip "so sweet"!

As the other reviews suggest there aren't many options for food in PBurg. This is a pretty miserable option, and I have been twice. Service is slow, soda is flat and food is subpar at best. Everything on the menu is way to overpriced for the quality!! It isn't down home cooking, but rather food of the Sysco truck drop into a fryer or on a grill, very disappointing!

Very good looking menu. My cousin and I both had the chili, which was good, and had the fried pickle appetizer, also good. Jolleen was our waitress and was very nice. She knows her job well. Good showing of people so business is healthy. Too full for dessert but the ice cream was inviting.

With not many options in Philipsburg, we received a recommendation from some locals to try Doe Bros. Overall, it was an okay experience. They're known for their burgers -- as it's a 50s-themed soda shop -- however, my father said the patty tasted like a pre-packaged, frozen burger. My mom and I shared "The Sampler" appetizer, which said it came with "Fried pickles, cheese sticks, fried green beans, onion rings, and more." The "and more" turned out to be chicken strips and homemade potato chips -- because my mom is a vegetarian, she wasn't too pleased and the chicken strips should DEFINITELY be written in the menu. The chips were a little overcooked, but good. Everything else was decent and the onion rings and mozzarella sticks were obviously frozen. The service was slow and the place was loud and packed. I'd explore other options. They have Wilcoxson's ice cream though. So stop in for that!

Doe Brothers is a super cute old time soda fountain and we were excited to try it when visiting Philipsburg. The decor is pretty adorable and the rustic counter is precious to look at. After reading the recommendation on their Facebook page to come between 4 and 6pm when it's less busy, we arrived right around 4pm. There were a handful of customers but it was easy for us to find a place to sit, and definitely was filling up when we left about an hour later. It seemed like a lot of folks were stopping in for the ice cream, which unfortunately we didn't try this time. The service was very friendly. We wondered if it changed hands recently because it seemed like they were still getting their feet on the ground, but the staff was accommodating, patient, and nice. The food was fine, not bad, but also nothing that special, especially for the prices. I had a basic burger with sweet potato fries, which was good, but tasted like a cheap frozen patty and cheap fixins - for $10. While that's not exactly expensive, it seems overpriced for the quality and type of food. My other half had a burger with bacon and american cheese (other cheese costs $1 extra) and modified his fries into chili cheese fries, which ended up being $13.25. Don't get me wrong, it all tasted good! But we spent $25 on a couple of burgers (+ a soda) that were only a step above fast food. There were also a bunch of flies buzzing around our table, like 4 that just wouldn't quit, which made the dining experience less pleasant. All in all, we're glad we went, it was cute and relaxing, but we wouldn't go back for a meal based on the ho-hum food and slightly steep prices. I'd stop back in for ice cream though!

We went there today for lunch and we had a great experience. Our waitress was wonderful and she had terrific sense of humor. The food was great too. I ordered the Little Gem off the "Children of All Ages" section of the menu. It was the perfect size for a lunch burger and it was seasoned perfectly. The home made chips were nicely done and went well with the burger. I highly recommend a visit to this place.

Since moving to Philipsburg, Doe Brothers has quickly become one of my favorite places to refuel after a long day out in the sun. This place is absolutely perfect for post-skiing (or hiking) burgers & ice cream! The tables are huge and the staff is very laid back, so you can spread out and feel comfy hanging out with friends for a while. Doe Brothers is a great casual lunch spot that's cute and welcoming. The food is good -- It's not over the top or glamorous, but it's solidly good food and it is priced appropriately. My favorite thing to order is "The Motherload" burger with a side of fries and a small licorice ice cream!

It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. There are not many choices in Philipsburg, especially for a vegan. The food and service were quick and efficient, but the quality of food was average at best. If there were other options, I would go there.

My friend's Frommer's guidebook to Montana and Wyoming recommended Philipsburg as an "interesting" stop, so we figured we'd swing on by as an intermission to our long-ass drive from Idaho Falls to Spokane. Philipsburg really is an "old American"-type town with a simple, short main street filled with colorful Victorian buildings with interesting businesses (I kept exclaiming "Big America!"). In scanning the offerings for a place to eat, we figured Doe Brothers looked nice, so we stopped in. Doe Brother is/was a 19th-century drugstore and is now a soda fountain/diner-type place. The walls are full of memorabilia and there's a counter to sit at if you don't want to take one of the tables. The menu offered an interesting and surprisingly large offering of sandwiches, salads and other dishes. I went for the chicken salad sandwich which was delicious and served on some excellent whole wheat bread. They also had a Reuben sandwich served on something called "pretzel bread" which rather intrigued me but I didn't order it. Service was quick and friend, and the food was great. Overall, a really cute and pleasant place if you're in the area and want to have lunch or dinner.

We stopped in on a sunny Saturday and it was the perfect afternoon stop. I had a vanilla phosphate and spicy veggie burger and my husband had the chili and a hamburger with a vanilla Italian soda. If only we had room left to try the ice cream. The portions were so generous we both had trouble finishing our meal. The veggie burger was homemade and one of the best I ever had. My husband loved the chili. The hardwood floors and rustic western feel of the place added to our enjoyment. We will be back with friends.

This place is disappointing and cannot believe the positive reviews. The 3 staff members visible were not capable of providing a positive customer experience. They were ignorant, argumentative, and seemingly under-educated for such simple tasks. Skip this place an visit a friendly establishment that appreciates your business and hard earned money.

While on a day trip to Pburg we decided to give Doe Bros. Restaurant a try for lunch. My in-laws had eaten there several times and said it was ok. They indicated it would be a good idea to have fairly low expectations though. We were pleasantly surprised to find out the place was under new ownership and the quality had improved. I ordered a burger and fries and was very happy with my decision. My wife ordered a grilled cheese and seemed pretty happy with it. The old people ordered soup or whatever it is that old people eat. They seemed happy with their meals. My only complaint with Doe Bros is the fifties theme they have going on. The fifties were played out 50 years ago. If they charged us 50s prices I would like it better. Instead they charged late 90s prices, so it was ok. If I ever have the need to head to Pburg again to buy gems and eat lunch I will happily go back to Doe Bros.

The "significant other" and I stopped in for lunch. It was fairly quiet (11:30am on a weekday) but people started showing up after a few minutes. The single hostess/waitress/cook (we think) got quickly busy but she seemed to keep up. Our sandwiches, burger/fries for me, chicken salad for her, were quite good and showed up with the appropriate wait. My recommendation is skip the pedestrian/commercial type fries and get the homemade potato chips with your lunch. Observation? They should warn you that the bread on the chicken salad sandwich is toasted - wife was not happy about that, but she said it tasted great. Main drag of "P-Burg" is very historic and there is plenty to see for a short visit.

Doe Brothers is a gem! I am originally from Missoula and this is the only place I will stop to eat at in P-burg. The burgers are fantastic and the staff is genuinely friendly. They let me order off the kids menu - the portions are perfectly sized for me and I get to indulge on a little Cookie Dough ice cream afterwards!

Visited Doe Brothers while on vacation with my family. We were excited to visit such a retro Soda Fountain shoppe! The atmosphere was pretty cool with taxidermy bison and goats adorning the wall. It was plenty busy with only one woman waiting on tables. She seemed a bit annoyed that we took over our father's table that he was leaving. We ordered our food, noticed that people around us that arrived there later got their food before us and were curious. Our food was brought out to us, but it was for the wrong table. About 8 minutes later our food came and it was cold. I understand that they are a mom and pop shop and they were extremely busy but we were quite disappointed. And for being a soda shop, I was surprised that the soda was flat...maybe we visited on an off day.

The burgers are good. Decent salad bar with good selection. Ice cream coones are a good value. I'd go back

Enjoy a huckleberry phosphate, fried dill pickle spears, and a satisfying burger at this delightful old time soda shoppe and ice cream parlor. Then, stop in at the sapphire gallery and candy shop across the street to round out your lunch hour in historic philipsburg!
