I ordered the house specialty which is peppers, onions, mushrooms, and sausage. It was different had kind of what I would call a taco type sauce on it. Little strange but not bad. Service was very good only issue was it was about 15 minutes for them to cash me out. That was OK, I got a free cheesecake with blue and strawberries on top. That was very good. They also serve steaks, not sure about that combo but I might try when I return to town.

Great breakfast, atmosphere, prices, and space to get work done on the weekends. Coffee isn't half bad either

Finally made it to Penelope's, after a few tries when we found it closed (I guess that was back around the holiday break, maybe they shut down when MS&T is out of session?). The parking lot was nearly full when we arrived for lunch around 11:30, but luckily there is plenty of room inside so we were seated right away. The hostess wasn't even miffed when we changed our mind and wanted to move from a booth (a little tight for our party) to a table. The waitress was perfectly chipper, and didn't bat an eyelash when we all asked for "just water" (it seems like some people give you the stinkeye when you don't want soda - not entirely clear to my why). Between the four of us, we got a good range of items from the menu. I had the crunchy chicken salad special, which was filling but not heavy. The chicken was all perfectly cooked, and entirely white meat. My boo got a gyro - he gave me a bite and it was fine, but he is more of a gyro connoisseur than I am, and was entirely happy with it. I thought that his side of fries looked delicious, but was too slow and didn't get to try them. His dad got the fried catfish, he thought that it was great, while his mom got the chicken souvlaki salad and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. Overall, I'd say that this was a great choice for something simple and with lots of choices for a group that can't decide on what kind of cuisine it wants. It's obviously a "down home" kind of place, but wasn't unwelcoming at all to us "non-townies."

Friendly customer service and nice small-town atmosphere. The house dressing with salad was delicious. However, my side dish of corn and my entree of grilled shrimp seemed straight from the can/freezer...which made it all less appealing.

Fast service, friendly staff. I'd never had spinach pie before and I'm glad I tried it. The flaky crust was perfect and the salad that comes with the combo was fresh.

Bunch of bitches who only care about the regulars. Im an occasional customer definitely not a regular and since I suffer that handicap I am forced to pay for one cup of coffee that never gets refilled, tables sans condiments, napkins, flat/silverware. And if you look to find a waitress you will find them leaning over widower Brown's table exposing just enough cleavage to unlock the doors to ultimate social security tippage.

If you want Alex's pizza without the BS, go here. It's virtually identical. The other food is fair. The wait staff have varying degrees of acceptability. Sometimes you're good to go, sometimes you are left as thirsty as you would expect to be if you were lost in the dessert. Last time I went, I was forced to drink my own urine.

My wife picked this place because she thought it sounded cute. It was nothing special. That being said it was clean, right off the freeway, had the usual kid choices. I had a Greek salad, it was what I expected. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I'd go back when in the area again.

Amazing desserts!! Penny makes them all herself and they really can't be beat. Fabulous cheesecakes and Italian dream cake. Also love Penelope's pizza. Had the Greek pizza the other night and it was delicious. Homey atmosphere and stellar service.

We came across this place as we were passing through town. The food was good; I had their "Greek Combo," which was gyro meat and grilled pork medallions. Their Greek salad was alright - I think the dressing was from a bottle. All in all, good service and a pleasant experience.

I think we might have just hit there at a really rough time because our service initially was horrible. We sat for close to ten minutes before anyone ever came to the table. Once our server got there she was great. The food was really good as well. My husband and I both tried the country fried steak and eggs breakfast. It tasted very homemade. Not the precooked and packaged stuff you get when you order it at most restaurant. Will definitely go back and eat again.

Excellent value for the price. The owner/chef is Greek and his pizza compares with the place uptown for a lower price. Very reasonably priced lunch menu. Dining room is clean and staff is attentive. I have always had good dining experiences here.
