I go by here atleast once every other week. It's conveniently located near one of the Hy-Vee's that houses Community America Bank. Jack's has been at the same location since 1969. I usually stop in around 8 a.m. 8 a.m. is a little late to get all of the donut goodness, but I still find a nice collection of sweetness. For example: Apple fritters, cinnamon twists, chocolate covered bavarian cream filled, white coconut frosted, cinnamon crunch topped and the melt in your mouth donut holes. I can vouch for the donut holes being both my dog's and my son's favorites (not that I would ever give my dog a whole donut hole, he scratches my arm off every time I eat one.) They melt in my mouth. The cake donuts are chewy, cake like texture without grease. Full of softness and topped with fresh beautiful topping. Oh my gawd they are good. I like this donut shop as he often doesn't charge the extra for a "fancy donut" or if he does, he throws in a couple of donut holes. There's also coffee, and such. The interior is scant. A few tables and chairs. It's a donut shop, it's basic and delicious.

This place is awful. I guess I should probably expand on this description, or else people on Yelp might think I'm getting lazy, and then nobody will give me extra bonus stars or hearts or diamonds or horseshoes or whatever those little things are under my name. This place is REALLY awful. Jack's just isn't any good at all. Their glazed donuts both look and taste like wax movie props. Their establishment had the ambience and charm of a Nazi proctologist's office. The donuts were bland, boring, greasy, and forgetful. Perhaps I simply arrived there at a bad time for them, and my experience might've been much better if I showed up at a better time, like after they've closed.

I go in to jacks donuts at least once a week as i work extremely close. Im not much of a donut eater, i usually just go in to get a soda. He asked me if i have tried any donuts and i told him i had not. He gave me a bag of free donut holes to try. i was suprised! every once in a while the donuts can be greasy. but you cant expect ANY place to be perfect EVERY time. The customer service makes this place worth it!

I'm an extremely health-conscious eater. So when I get a craving for a doughnut AND indulge myself, the doughnut better be freaking marvelous. I tried several of their doughnuts, with high hopes, but felt they were incredibly greasy! Now, it's no secret doughnuts are deep fried, but I don't want to be able to squeeze the grease out of them! Literally, I felt the grease squeeze out of the doughnuts in my mouth. Not a pleasant experience at all. The owner was there, as was his son, and they were extremely friendly and helpful, which earned them stars! Maybe the fryer grease was off temperature or something, but Jack's left something to be greatly desired...and gave me a tummy ache.

I used to go here daily in High school while I had a job. It was on the way to school and the doughnuts where the best around. Krispy Creme, Dunken Doughnuts, and Lamars have nothing on this place. Unfortunately I lost my job at BK to another person as did almost everyone. So I hadn't been there for almost a year I walk in and the owner is looking at me and Grins saying. "Where have you been I haven't seen you in for so long." That is customer Service. Remembering customers and being able to start a conversation. I love this shop and hope others will come here and enjoy it too.

If Heaven had its own donuts, they would be Jack's Donuts. They have donuts that melt in your mouth.I recommend their sour cream and blueberry donuts. They are terrific!! They put Krispy Kreme's to shame. The thing about this place is that they are a small mom and pop's store. It's not as if they are nationally recognized.I asked the owner he should open another Jack's Donuts in Lee's Summit.I know business would do well there because there is an open market. But he told me there was no one who could run it. Please don't pass them up.They have a very moist taste. Amen.
