Something about this place keeps bringing me back. Not for it's ambiance or the wine selection but because this is a fun place to meet friends for a burger and for the selection of brews. It can take a while to get your food which is why I like to come with friends with the intent on visiting. If you're in a hurry don't eat here. Average bar food that uses the local bakery's homemade buns for their burgers which are always fresh. 3 out of 5 stars for average food and slow service. Prices are cheaper than your chains.

Great food, slow service as many have mentioned. Luckily we were there mostly to socialize with family so it wasn't a big deal. We will be back when in MN visiting :) **bonus-they have pull tabs!**. You don't see that in Georgia where we live.

We've had good experiences here, but lately, not so much. After today's experience, I will not be returning. Our business tried to place a takeout order almost 2 hours before we wanted to pick it up and they denied us. It is graduation day, although we wanted our order almost an hour and a half before graduation is supposed to be let out. They claimed they "might" be busy, so could not have our takeout order ready for us. How much easier does an order get? We tried to place it hours ahead of time and just wanted to pick it up. After asking to speak with the manager, he came on the phone and argued with us about the order and told us "you don't understand the restaurant business". My husband who tried to place the order worked restaurant management for almost 10 years. Too bad they denied an almost $200 order because they "MIGHT" be busy. They've also lost my business and several others we work with forever.

2 for 1 burgers on Sundays are WORTH IT. Tasty tasty tasty. Their jalepeno poppers are scrumptious. Burgers for sure, so good. Excellent food specials. Fun karaoke on Wednesdays!

This bar/diner is very deceiving!!!! It looks great from the outside and on the inside. The menu looked great, too. They get 2 stars for appearance, but that's all the stars they get. This place should be on Chef Ramsay's Hell Kitchen's. This place needs to decide if it's a bar and diner, or just one of the two because it sure is not both! They have quite a bit of seating for people that are eating, but the service is painfully slow. They had 2 servers that could not keep up with all the seating. The kitchen window is very small and may have slowed it up, too. The menu is extremely well done, but prices are very high, especially considering anything you order is nothing more than mediocre, bar garbage. They do get points for all their TV's. If you are just having a drink and watching a sports game, I would come here. This place should focus on being a bar and not serve so much food. For good food, go next door to Jefferson's. To watch sporting event and get a drink, go here.

Bar food in an historic setting. Service was decent, selection was sandwiches, burgers, wraps and some dinner steak, chicken and pasta selections. The rib eye was poor. The burgers looked great. The drinks were all measured. No free poor at Betty Jo's. Popcorn at the bar which was a positive! I would return for a drink but not before I tried all the other hangouts in town.

3 WORDS: Center street slider!!!! my first try at a burger with an egg on top of it, and its very good, believe me you can go wrong with it. I love the atmosphere at betty joes, nice unusual decor, great staff. Free pop corn, i wish they had more pool tables and at times the bartenders can be slow. Its a nice clean atmosphere with plenty of tvs to watch the games, and they do have karaoke from time to time. Be sure to give betty a kiss for me when you go there.

This is a cool bar, lots of awesome Americana here. We had lunch here and the food was decent and the service was fine, standard american food, cool booths, and friendly staff. Worth visiting...

It's sports bar and grill like their neighbor. Unlike Jefferson's, this place is more bar than grill. As such, the food is not as good, but there are food specials ALL THE TIME.

Try their pizzas or the "Viking". Good atmosphere with an emphasis on Winona. Fish fry on Friday nights is also good. Some nice bar specials on specific nights.

Nothing special. Fried bar food. Got the fish and chips, which was fried, but wasn't greasy. Wouldn't get much else there. Hangout for drunk college kids, bit of a dive. About $10 a meal.

We go here every month and we really enjoy the pizza and drinks. Service is hit or miss, but it is truly Winonan. I would give it a try, but know that it is more bar than restaurant if you are thinking of taking your kids.

This is a good place to have a sandwich. The French dip on a Bloedow hoagie bun was just right for a lunch. Served with chips made it perfect. Free popcorn and plenty of TV's help pass the time waiting for your food. Food was served hot and prompt. Friendly place with lots of history.

After a 4 year absence my wife and I stopped in on Monday night. The smell of stale grease and smoke hits you as soon as you walk in. The sandwiches and appetizers were standard bar fare. My wife ordered a side of garlic mashed potatoes that were totally flavorless and inedible. The windows and blinds looked like they haven't been cleaned in years. But I guess if you're a college student looking to drink none of this matters.

Great meal. Dineen and I had the cheese steak, Delores had a burger. Waiter was prompt and courtious. Over 100 beer on the menu!

Yes, daily specials everyday - isn't that redundant? Anywho - Friday Fish Fry, I've been countless times, probably gave them too much of my money, but what can you do, you're in Winona and you want some fried food, I'd come to Betty Joes, it's bar food - and that's where it ends, service is ALWAYS inconsistent, and I've really only been on Fridays and the fish has taken over an hour to get to our table once, I don't know why we didn't leave, probably 'cause there was no where else to go. The servers are mostly nice too.
