Poole’s Tavern Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Always good. We go often in the summer months to sit outside. they did discountinue one of my favorites (crabmeat & cheese mexican style ...). Salads are big (portions are big). Now no smoking at all (great for us who dont smoke as before it was a bummer inside). Only thing I don't like is drinking wine or margarita out of a plastic cup, so I skip the alcohol when we at outside (for me it just doesn't taste the same). Really a great place in Northville.

Typical tavern but with few insult service and an abundance of outdoor seating we decided to pass on since only having cocktails and there was a wait for outdoor seating. Had a good variety of drafts on Tap and a full bar for what wets you whistle. Decided on drinks and had good conversation with bartender when around and left us only enough to have own conversation. All in all a pretty neat place with TV's for viewing, music at right level, outdoor seating and good service.

It had been awhile since I had visited Poole's. Mainly because their food and service seemed to have gone down. and the menu was limited. But it was memorial weekend and the restaurant we were going to was closed. So Poole's it was and I was pleasantly surprised. Their menu seems to have expanded and become more relevant.I had the tuna dinner which was very nicely cooked but not overly flavorful and son had a Salmon sandwich which look like a generous piece of fish which he enjoyed. The rest of the party had burgers and they felt that they were better than average. Sat on the patio which is very nice and relaxing. and adds to the atmosphere and dining experience. Will bring this back into our rotation. .

Not horrible, but not great either. It was very run-of-the-mill bar food; nothing to write home about.

Absolutely love this place. Favorite restaurant/bar in Northville by far. If you've never been here before I strongly recommend the half pound burger. Best burger around. Prices are fair and service is quite good. Everyone is very friendly as I've never had a bad experience here. Definitely my go to place when I go out to eat which is rare.

Above average bar food and good atmosphere. The location is great and this place shines when you are able to sit out on the patio during the summer. Consider getting there early and have a few drinks before dinner...

In my opinion, this is the best bar food in Northville. They have a good variety of burgers and sandwiches, and all of them are worth trying. It makes me happy that they serve Better Made chips! Chips made in Detroit with a Northville connection -- let me know if you figure that out! I have been here with my sister and kid, or after work with colleagues. Either way, we have been treated well, enjoyed the crowd, and had great food and drinks. This place gets super busy when the weather is good or when there is anything going on in downtown Northville. If you do go in good weather, it's worth the wait for outside seating. You get a great view for people watching with your excellent food.

Always used to drive by, stopped on a whim and discovered the neighborhood corner bar that has surprisingly good food. The burgers are great! Has outdoor patio to enjoy on nice days. Friendly staff. Kids like it.

Love the ribs here! The staff is very friendly and this is always a fun place to come for a good meal : )

This was my first time but I'll be back! Reuben and burgers were great, good service, cold beer...

I was with my poker club and the six of us got exceptional service by Sam. She got absolutely everything right. They have a great menu from major entrees to pub food. I had the corned beef sandwich which was very good. Others said the burgers were very good. One had a great looking dinner chicken salad and enjoyed it. It was a nice evening and they have a great outdoor seating area.. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. I had the house cab for only $4.95. We will be back.

At this point, I don't even care about the ambience, interior or the food after waiting for our server to serve us.. I'm beyond irritated by the slowness and lack of the service we received.. I will never return to this place. I had to wait good 5 mins for water, then good 15-20mins for her to take our order since she dropped off the water and said she will be back and came back after 15-20 mins then I wanted to ask about particular ingredient for a menu item and getting that answer was good 5 mins then the food took about 25mins... But food was pretty decent...please get staff that can handle a busy day!!

Pretty good beer and wine selection. Great outdoor patio shaded in the summer. Cozy inside area when it's chilly. Had the nachos.. I give those an 8.5 out of 10. Good times. Worth a shot for sure. Didn't get wings but the price for a pound looked good to me. :)

I went to Poole's Tavern for the first time today and I loved everything about it! It was a beautiful summer day so we sat in the outdoor patio area and it was perfect. We both had BLT's and they were delicious as were the fries and the onion rings. The fries were the best ones I think I have ever had and the onion rings have slices of REAL onion inside and they are delicious too. Our server was really nice and the food came out quickly. I have nothing bad to say about Poole's and I can't wait to go back and try some of their other food items!

Best location but worst food in downtown northville. Most of the food is frozen from sams club or Costco. The sandwich I had was very dry and not good. Good place to sit outside and drink, but don't expect a good meal.

I just had an awesome burger here! It was cooked perfectly and the cheese, onions, and lettuce complimented the burger amazingly. The decor is nothing fancy but it's a good corner bar. Simple food and simple beer but with the right friends it can be a true party.

While it's definitely not my first choice, I give it four stars based on how well it meets expectations. It's a family restaurant with bar food, and it's pretty good. I had the portabella pita, which was good. Fluffy pita, nicely marinated and well cooked shrooms, and more lettuce and tomato than your average bar. My sister had the pesto wrap and liked it, and all other members of the party said theirs was good, too: the burger, ribs and fries, a french dip, and a few salads. We had onion rings and hummus for the table, and they actually brought out cucumbers and celery when I asked-- a rare find for a place like this. Hummus was solid, and the onion rings were pretty great! Big, crunchy and crispy on the outside, and not at all greasy. What really pleased me about this place was how accomodating they were. We had 3 young kids and 10 people total. We sat on the patio, which was nice except the table we had was being swarmed by gnats! But they brought out bug spray for us and helped us moved tables-- problem solved. The waitress was able to keep up with our rapid, disjointed ordering style and everything came out fast. The wine selection is VERY inexpensive. They have your standard beer list with 2 solid crafts: Bell's Two Hearted and one more that I can't remember but who cares when there's Two Hearted!? All in all, a good experience and I would go back if I had a big crew out in Northville.

I'm going out of town soon so my cousins invited me out for a few beers on a humid Sunday. When we pulled up to the restaurant, there were barely any outdoor tables available. It's not surprising, Poole's has a great location in downtown Northville with ample people-viewing seating. Unfortunately, downtown Northville is too wholesome and innocent, especially on a Sunday. People walking through downtown were wearing church slacks and pushing strollers. Despite 100% humidity and 80 degree heat, the joggers were dressed like the Amish. Nonetheless, Northville is a very laid back place and I was pleasantly surprised with the other outdoor eatery options while walking to the bar. Poole's has no specials on Sunday our server quickly informed us, but paying $3.75 for a pint of Bud Light? Come on. Can't complain though, the weather was warm, my beer was cold, and Poole's has plenty of TV's, even outside. The waitress seemed a bit miffed we only ordered beer/pitchers and she hawk-eyed my legitimate 21-year-old ID for what felt like five minutes. I haven't shaved in two weeks, I could pass as a young father so what gives? Well maybe not. I'd go back to Poole's. I just have to find out their specials ahead of time so I'm not paying for beer through the nose. I'm a college kid, I don't have that kind of scratch. And that's why Poole's is a sports bar that looks somewhat like a dive bar, but definitely doesn't charge like one.

Good bar food, good beer selection, friendly bartenders, nothing bad to say about Pooles. Good place to go grab a drink and catch up with friends.

  • Nikki M.

A nice place to sit outside and have a drink and hangout with friends or family. Drinks are a bit pricey ($4.95 for a 16oz Oberon are you kidding me? Their special - Sam Adams Oktoberfest beer was $3.95/bottle) but are "average Northville prices" I guess. The food looked good but no one in my group was really hungry and our standby munchie of chips and salsa was $4 (hahaha!) The server was okay, not very friendly but she did come by to check on us. One good thing is there is plenty of parking in back and you can easily walk to other bars. Overall, if you can overlook the fact that you will be paying too much for drinks and want to enjoy a nice patio and people watch give Poole's a chance. If not, there are plenty of other bars in the area! :-)

This is where you go to get a great burger. Don't mess with the rest of the menu as this is as good a burger at you get anywhere

  • Michael M.

Excellent burgers. Service is usually good. Love the outside seating. The salads leave something to be desired (a southwest salad was almost entirely romaine?). Love the coziness of the booths, and the appetizers are also quite good. Parking is poor, however.

  • Stine M.

I've had just about everything on the menu and for the price you pay, it's good. Drinks are moderately priced. Summertime offers good people watching via the patio. Service can be a little slow. It's a very small pub, so I don't think they have a large staff.

3.5 and as soon as we try some more items I will update! Loved walking in here on a busy Saturday night to find the staff in good spirits. We put our name in, and were updated every now and then about our place in line. When we were seated (after about 20 minutes) they apologized to us for the wait, profusely. No need, but it makes one feel that they care. Nice! The atmosphere in here screams cozy. Poole's is the personification of a local watering hole with what seems to be many regulars. It isn't hip, nor is it trying to be. The crowd is slightly mature, with the occasional 20- (me!) and 30somethings mixed in. We came here for a burger but ended up with the ribs. I ordered the fish and chips, and we split a tavern salad for good measure. My husband changed his mind on the burger as soon as he saw and smelled the ribs. Another score? They are $16 for a full slab. I know! The beer battered fish and chips comes with two pieces (which was plenty), a side of coleslaw and homemade potato chips. These slightly thick and crispy chips were pretty good on their own, but even better dipped in a side of their bbq sauce. I felt pretty proud about that discovery, and ate more than I probably should have. The fish itself was moist, almost buttery and the breading was pleasantly crisp without the awkward sogginess the insides sometimes have. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and delicious, I was told. My hungry man could not finish the slab, if that tells you something about the amount you get. He ordered the onion rings and didn't care for them that much, I on the other hand thought that these panko crusted crunchy sweet onion rings were quite good. Even though it seemed the waitstaff was under staffed, our waittress was very efficient and friendly. The whole staff gave off positive vibes and worked together like a well-oiled machine. We will have to come back for that elusive burger, and I have a feeling it'll be soon.

Nice place to sit outside and enjoy favorable weather. Good food and drink selections. Staff members are friendly, although some seem a bit inexperienced.

food is good and cheap. beer selection is OK. but the service is awful . onion rings are pretty good. fish and chips is a little weird, fish served with crisps(like the kettle cooked chips)

Love downtown Northville. Love Poole's. In fact, had my first date here with the woman that I ended up marrying. Today, not so much sentimentality. Barmaid was apathetic and rude. Ugh...

I like Poole's, most notably for the service and the attitude of the staff from the very moment you walk through the door. Every time I've been in in here, someone is there immediately asking if they can find me a table or to point out a spot at the bar that's open for seating. I haven't eaten here in along time but it's a nice watering hole with it's own character and a ton of locals.

Needed a good burger so decided to try Poole's based on several recommendation posted on this site. Three of our group of five had the standard burger with cheese, a fourth had the burger special of the day (onions and mushrooms). Not disappointed but not overly impressed. The burgers were rather tasteless. The "special" was the same, onions tasteful but meat was blah. Also ordered the seasoned fries and for the life of me couldn't understand why they were called "seasoned" same as the regular fries. Drinks were good, atmosphere was good, ran into a number of friends, and services was very good. Enjoyed our night and will probably give the burgers another try, but can't give a rating much above average.

I've only ever been here for lunch but I have to say I went there today and had a French dip sandwich. We sat out on the patio which was very nice. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Our food arrived promptly and hot. That was the best French Dip sandwich I've had in a really long time. Overall, I was very impressed.

I was in the area for business and, craving a burger, did a quick search for places to get one that weren't fast food or a chain. It was about 1:30 pm when I stopped in, the place was about half full and I was greeted and seated immediately. I knew I wanted a burger, and with a burger a beer is a must. They had a decent, if not great, list of beers on draft so that was a plus, although being a Tavern also expected! The special of the day was a burger smothered in their home-made chili, not something I would normally order but I decided to give it a try. I ordered the burger medium, and it was done perfectly. The chili was flavorful and the fries were great, crispy and fresh. The service was also very good. All in all, it was a good experience and I would definitely go back again.

I was not impressed with Poole's Chamber of Commerce-Grub Crawl event, nor was I impressed with their salads... Maybe I should have taken the suggestion by other yelpers and ordered a burger-- my bad.. The service was extremely slow on Thursday night, October 4th, there was not a game on or many people there, so I have no clue why everyone moved at less than a snail's pace... Not at all impressed with this place.. will not return :)

This has been one of my go-to places for lunch for a long time. Great spot to park it on a patio when it's nice out. Prices are a little higher than "normal" for the type of food but overall a great place. The food (or anything barbecue there) is great. Daily specials change and Mel the bartender is the best in the business. If you are frequenting Northville then you should make a stop here.

Went biking in Northville and stopped by this place for a beer. They have a nice patio outside, but I just sat at the bar and had a drink. The bartender was nice, and it seemed like a pretty hoppin place. I'll go back for food and let you know how it is.

Hubby and I met some friends here on Friday for drinks and dinner. Boy, they sure do a good business. Apparently, the main draw is the 1/2 pound burgers, but the pulled pork on a pretzel bun called my name and I answered the call. Oh yeah! The pork was tender and smokey, the BBQ sweet and tangy, the bun, as advertised, soft pretzel sweetish & salty. Fries came with and were crispy and nicely seasoned. Hubby had steak tips and hummus. Sounds great, tastes OK. I give Poole's credit, though, for offering something unique. And Hubby thought the dish was good, which I guess counts for something, since he's the one who ordered it. Friend #1 also ordered this and she also liked it. Friend #2 ordered 1/2 lb. burger - which is huge and hand-formed and looked delicious. It's nearby and looks great for people watching in the summer when the patio is open. We'll be back.

This review will be short. I don't have all that much to say. All I have ever had at Poole's is their excellent burger. Poole's 1/2 pound burger is one of the best I have ever had. I have never had one of their burgers that was not outstanding. Everything...from the meat to the toppings to the perfectly toasted bun...is excellent That said, when you get the burger, get the onion rings as well. Every bit as outstanding as the burgers, these are the best onion rings around. I am always hard-pressed when I dine in Northville to chose between all the excellent choices at Rebecca's (which I have also reviewed here) or the burger at Poole's. You, my friends, should check both places out and tell me what you think.

I have died and gone to BBQ Baby-back Rib heaven. Moist tender ribs cooked low and slow with love. Coleslaw, crispy fries, and a tall cool Miller High Life. I don't need to say any more....perfection.

Okay it was a lazy sunday afternoon and the in-laws called and asked if we'd like to get a burger for dinner, without knowing where they were thinking, it was a definite yes. So we ended up at Poole's Tavern in Northville. We love going to Northville, its like a little resort town with all the small specialty shops and restaurants. So upon walking in, it was pretty obvious that the a/c wasn't working and it was a bit muggy outside. But with the doors and windows open it was comfortable, not a big deal!. We sat ourselves per the instructions of the very happy bartender. We found a corner table and boom the waitress is right there to take drink orders, I like that!! We order pop and I ordered a beer and "Pickles" ordered a root beer and the have Chicago root beer, a micro root beer, very good and very cool that a place like this, small town pub, offers it! We all sampled it and all agreed, a quality root beer! Burgers were the anonymous choice of us adult and we all raved about are burgers! Mine was cooked perfectly and I order it medium rare! WONDERFUL BURGER!!! I got the season fries for $1.25 more but not much to them, had a side of BBQ sauce, so dipping them, favored them up! The rest of the adult got Better Made potato chips with there burgers. Pickles had mozzarella sticks, they were really cheese and the outer breading was very good and had a little bit of a crunch to it! She also got the corn beef sandwich, she said it was good, with a smile!! She only ate half of it and the rest came home for lunch today! So, this is a great cozy bar and a great place to get a yummy burger and a beer! They have many flat screens tv's and had on multiple different sporting events on, so someone is paying attention to the tv's and what customers might want to watch. I'm definitely going back for a burger! I could see going there on a fall afternoon to watch some college football and drink some cold beer and enjoy a GREAT Burger!

Simple menu with great, easy bar food at a price that is affordable. Living in Northville, there are many expensive restaurant options for fine dining. Sometimes, though you need a friendly place that you can walk to with friends. My husband and I enjoy outdoor dining while watching various games in good weather. The inside is very much a neighborhood bar. People are friendly, service is good, the patio is a great dining experience. Try the portabello wrap for a great vegetarian option, and the fries are excellent!

One of my favorite places to go when I'm back in Northville! Service is always attentive. I highly recommend going on a Friday, their clam chowder is some of the best I've eaten!! Its worth waiting for if there is a crowd.

Very authentic neighborhood hangout in charming downtown Northville, MI. Food is really, really good, particularly for what seems like a place better known for beer and/or its social scene. One of the best patios for summer dining and people watching. Looking for a hipper, lounge hangout? Bak Bar is immediately adjacent to the Tavern. Strongly recommended for anyone looking for a classic bar night out. Ask for Erin and tip her well - it's worth it.

This restaurant is excellent in a nice Summer it Spring day! There's some great burgers & fries! There's an awesome area to sit outdoors and underneath the trees! The waitstaff treated us really well and kept our glasses full of water and diet soda! You can get fish n chips with the greatest fries ever! You can get a burger with just about anything on it but the "kitchen sink!" Well everything including the price was super but I have one teeny complaint!!!(lol) if it's windy, be careful because the little tiny flowers fall from the trees and get into your open drink and you really need to use your cardboard coaster as a glass cover!!! Soooo anyway... Just can't wait to go back for another juicy, tasty yummy burger from Pooles! The price is right, too !!!! Ohhh one thing that saddens me is that I have 2 grandbabies & there's NO KIDS MENU OR MEAL!! Do not get your child the "supposed kids grilled cheese"because it's on very thick & hard toasted bread ! My 2 yr old granddaughter wouldn't eat it & we still had to pay $4.50!!

  • Allison B.

Good, cheap bar food with a more clean and classy hole-in-the-wall feel. My mom and I stopped in last night; we got the fish and chips and pulled pork on a pretzel bun. The pretzel bun was honestly one of the best ones I have ever had. It's definitely a nice addition to the choices in downtown Northville!

This place has seemingly been around since the Nixon administration. A Northville institution, they seem to be skating by on their laurels or longevity. The food is not great, its not even good. I really can't remember one good thing I've had here. The burger is ok, as is anything that you slather with melted cheese and bacon. The beer list has stayed the same for 30 years even though we are now inundated with great local Michigan craft brews at almost every new restaurant. The one thing they have going for them is a great location and large outdoor space. Thats really it.

  • Mike K.

The ultimate beer n burger spot and the best in Northville. Not sure i would get much beyond the burger and sandwich part of the menu, but they do a solid job, but we have never been disappointed in 20+ trips there. The burger is just that good. Summer = grab a tough to get patio table, other seasons I would rec a spot inside or even next door where you get the same food and a quieter experience. Service is solid, they will bring popcorn and such while you order and generally encourage you to hang, enjoy, have a couple beers (ton to choose from) and order. I would rec highly to pay a visit, you will have a blast.

Poole's is a fun little sports bar right in the heart of downtown Northville. There is an outdoor patio that doubles the space of the restaurant, but unfortunately it can only be used a few months out of the year in the state of Michigan-especially this year. The food is surprisingly good for "bar food". The hummus and steak that my BF ordered was really good. I don't EVER order steak and I really liked it. According to the bartender, they are known for their ribs (which I have not tried) and their fish and chips. I tried the fish and chips and I was not disappointed. We also tried the onion rings (I know, a little indulgent but we deserved it) and all I can say is YUM! Go to Poole's and try the food AND the beer. Bonus-have Hopslam right now too!

A very good burger indeed, hand formed angus. You cannot go too wrong with one of the half pounders here. They also have a decent half pound turkey burger if that is your thing, I am not huge into it myself though so I have only had bites of other people's. They have good other stuff too which is nice as not everyone is as hamburger focused as I am. I actually like the odd combo of steak bits and hummus served with pita bread. The chicken pesto wrap I tasted was tasty as was the pulled pork on a pretzel roll. I had the salmon on ciabatta with wasabi mayo one time and it was good. I also agree the homemade chips (they call them fried potato thins) are generally delicious as they make them to order, I am not as into the seasoned fries myself. Really with the size of the burger I really never need either. Staff is friendly and service is prompt. Prices are fair and you get quality food. It is a pretty nice congenial atmosphere for a bar but it is a bar and can be smoky. You can watch sports and hang out without hassles. We stop in when we are in the neighborhood and so far so good.

In the summer, Pooles has a great outdoor patio. Very enjoyable to have a frosty beer on a warm day and people watch. Another great thing about this place...free popcorn. I know it's not a big deal however I am a big fan of having something to munch on as I wait for my meal. The burgers are very good. Always cooked to order and the onion, tomato and lettuce are always fresh. Thin cut fries and I think double cooked to make them very crispy. The ribs are also good but you should be a fan of a sweeter sauce to enjoy them. Personally I am a big fan of Pooles. A neighborhood tavern with cold beer, good bar food and a great atmosphere.

We just love Poole's! Most Fridays we head to our favorite spot for dinner. The burger is one of the best around. Steak Bits and hummus a great change of pace from the normal pub food. BLT on pretzel bun is one of my favorites. Service is always fast and friendly. The place is busy on the week ends and the patio is a great place to sit and enjoy the great weather as well as people watch on those nice summer nights. CLAM CHOWDER! I don't know if it's home made of from a CAN but it is the best clam chowder I have ever had. (Fridays only) Every Friday I have to start my meal with a cup/bowl of that. If anyone has the recipe.......I need it! It's thick and just has the best taste. Parking is a problem, but it's down town Northville and it's a problem for all the business' down there. If you haven't been there try it you will like it.

Cold Beers. Decent Appetizers. Awesome fish and chips. Close enough for me and my boyfriend to stumble home from. A solid place to grab a bite and a beer. Looking forward to coming here more often in the summer when the patio is open, and when it isn't cold as balls.

Went for dinner with the in-laws for fathers day yesterday. It was a great day to sit outside so, we did. I like the patio a lot. Everyone got burgers except my daughter and I, my husband got his on a pretzel roll and that looked super good! The onion rings he got also looked amazing. I had the southwestern chicken salad. It was huge! Elaine (from Seinfeld) would have been impressed. I took half of it home, it was good but nothing to write home about. I would order it again if I was here and in the mood for salad. We had nachos for an appetizer which also weren't bad but weren't super special either, I wish there had been more of the veggie toppings and that it had come with double the amount of salsa. One tiny little plastic cup was nowhere near enough. What really disappointed me was that they have no kids menu! WTF!?!? I realize it's a tavern but come on, you can't print off a simple sheet of paper listing children's options? I had to ask our waitress to list off what they could make for her which meant my 4 year old had to make up her mind quick and she is not very good at that... Anyways, she settled for the grilled cheese which was on really thick sourdough bread and difficult for her to eat. It was tasty though, after I cut off the crust. I guess based on my experience and others here, get the burgers (try it on a pretzel roll), try the onion rings, sit on the patio and leave the kids at home!

If you are in downtown Northville and want a good burger, this is the place to go! They are famous for their burgers. I have never ordered anything else! Expect to get a fresh, hand formed, juicy, 1/2 lb. beef patty that is cooked to perfection every time. The lightly seasoned shoe string fries are mighty darn good too, and if you can stuff them in, they are worth getting. This is one of those places that is always packed. It is a local favorite. So expect to wait for a table. They have a wonderful patio area that is good for people watching and of course you can eat inside the bar too. The bar itself is a bit older, not much to look at, but that doesn't detour anyone from coming.... the burger speaks for itself. Service is always right on the money, fast and efficient. I have never had a bad experience here. Although I personally have never tried them, they are also known for their ribs and steak tips. (At least that is what I heard a waitress tell another table one time.) So those might be good things to try as well......

The local Northville bar. It's a decent place, and it's nice to have a non-chain place downtown. The burgers are decent, not the best you'll ever have but certainly edible. The service is reliably good. The beer selection is somewhat lacking, which is why I don't go there more often. The best part about this place is the patio. They put a TV outside when it's nice, and it's a very pleasant, laid back place to watch a game or chill out. If I was only rating the patio experience, I'd give a four, but I'd rate the inside a two. So, the average it is.

I've given Pool's three chances. Each time was worse than the last. The food is terrible. The service mediocre at best, and the beer is warm. The patio is the only thing going for this place. I wish someone who knows how to run a restaurant would buy this place and turn it around. Right now, it is a complete waste of a great location.

We have been going here for 20 years and basically the food has not changed.............oh well, the burgers have gotten a little bigger, appetizers are not very good and one time they served Shrimp sticks for what they called Butterfly Shrimp.....It was horrible. One suggestion however is to not order the ribs............they were very tender and tasty until the new owners took over a few years ago but now they are strickly a send back item

Great patio! It's far enough from both the road and the parking lot that you're not choking on exhaust while you drink your beer. Good food, reasonable prices. There's nothing terribly exciting about this place, but as a Spartan alum who still yearns for the patio at the Peanut Barrel, I find this place a reasonable substitute. :)

Pretty unremarkable place. Nice outdoor seating area, though a bit too small. Food was just OK, service fine.

One of my very favorite places to hang out in the summer. You can't beat sipping Oberon on the patio! Food is terrific, their burgers were voted one of the best in Detroit! The fish and chips is also great . The chips are actually chips...home-made, deep-fried, crispy-deliciousness.

I came here with my sexy lady one night for a pitcher and some food. I would like to give it 4 stars but it honestly doesn't deserve it. We showed up early saturday night and were quickly seated. We chose a small table for 2 that unfortunately was kind of in the corner of the dining room. Next to us was another small table for 2, that was empty but next to a party of about 6 people. So I figured we'd sit away from all that noise and enjoy our privacy. We sat down and less than 5 minutes later a couple came in and sat next to us. A little cramped but understandable as the place was quickly getting full. I personally don't like sitting within arms reach of someone but I let it slide and was ready to enjoy some beer and food. Soon our waiter came by and hooked us up with a pitcher of blue moon. The pitcher was great, cold, frosty mugs and plenty of orange slices. However the chicken nacho we ordered was a great disappointment. The nacho itself had the normal stuff, cheese, chips and some diced tomatoes, jalepenos and onions. Yes we ordered chicken nachos but like I said this was a great disappointment. The chicken that I actually found in the nachos was not much. I honestly had about a chicken nugget's worth of actual chicken in my nacho. It was ridiculous. We didn't finish it but we did search through the nacho to make sure we weren't wrong. We were not. It was like we ordered a nacho and some chicken accidentally fell into it. One of the worst excuses for a chicken nacho, EVER. So we decided to order another pitcher and some food. My lady got the steak tips and humus. I got the ribs and chicken. Now although the food was good, it was good bar food and nothing worth getting a boner for. It was also a good deal. About $15 for some decent ribs and shrimp. The portions were pretty good as well. The ribs were ok nothing spectacular. The shrimp was good but also just a little bit stringy / chewy. The fries were really thin, crispy but not very salted. Kind of boring. I did take a few bites of the steak bits and humus. Which was a great flavor combo. Overall I think the way to go is sandwiches / burgers. Now as for the service. After our first pitcher, the couple next to us left. As did the table of about 6 people a table over. Then almost immediately about 8 or 9 people came in and sat at the large table over. In fact they had to construct a large table out of the left over smaller tables. It was ok but since we were kind of in the corner our waiter forgot about us. I didn't mind since we had some privacy but getting any kind of food or drink order was a challenge. Our waiter was so distracted by every other table in the dining room. He rarely looked over at us. In the end he apologized every time he forgot about us and I actually commend him for managing all those people and still getting to us. I'm sure we will return I just expected more from a place that's constantly packed.

Excellent handmade burger. Fish and chips were good and flaky. Nice waitstaff. Drinks were poured well.

Had the cheese soup and a burger. Cheese soup was excellent and the perfect amount of spicy. The burger was better than average, but the bun got a little soggy on the bottom right away.
