Food was good, a little over-salted for a black and blue burger, and the waitress was very nice. She came and checked on us frequently and the food came out of the kitchen quick. The reason for 3 stars, watched a manager, or at least I think it was, get the girls trays together and pick up fries off the plates and then put them back several times. Wondering where the heck his hands had been before that (since I saw him with a bus tray) is what grossed me out. Also, beer prices were very reasonable, but the fruit flies that followed my Milkshake stout to the table were not welcome for dinner. Good luck!

15 dollar cover charge on New Years evening for the privilege to come in and spend money on food and drink? You guys are out of your freaking minds. Your food isn't all the spectacular anyway. You've lost at least 6 people's business for life. Other reviewer's are correct, the table service sucks.

Visited Oscars last night and it was great. The chicken pesto panini was good as was the beer. Service was very attentive. Definitely glad we went.

Was visiting Midland for a wedding and had the opportunity to stop by Oscar's for a burger and drinks. The food was good (had the SMO burger) and a decent list of beer on tap. Coming from New Jersey, their mixed drinks were pretty cheap. I would definitely go back again if I was in the area.

As a born-and-raised Midland-er I know that Oscars is NOT a place you come to have a delicious meal or on a night where you want to keep your dignity. It's a sports bar that gets its best business on holidays from kids who are back in town visiting their parents and need an escape. Oscars is somewhat of a running joke among the twenties crowd who left Midland and never looked back, but we have a good ol' time when we're there just the same. I have always found Oscars' bartenders to be attentive and friendly. The drink prices are cheap, which is great for buying your high school friends and frenemies a round of shots. The establishment overall is always clean and is spacious enough to accommodate big groups. My biggest suggestion for Oscars is to get a DJ under the age of 30 who plays better and relevant music. There's always Pitbull and LMFAO blaring from their speakers and it's awful.

This place has a douche bag magnet installed somewhere. Most of the time I don't review the cliental but that is kind of how you rate bars. You can't rate it for its food because its bar food, and their entertainment is the radio or some Dj playing top 40's 1 star, 2 thumbs down, and a Gold Star for the amount of popped collars and bubbling testosterone.

I only rated this one star because you cannot rate anything lower. I have been here at night when it has transforms as a place for the locals to hang out and drink. It was never really that great then because it is very hard to get a drink when this establishment is busy. Today I was walking downtown with my sister looking for a Turkey Burger and we walked into Oscars. There were about 3 older gentlemen at the bar, a couple in a seat by the door, my sister, and I....I am not sure who was on the other side but it did not seem busy at all. Upon entering our server/bartender bellows to us to have a seat anywhere and she would come over and get our order. We sat for about 5 minutes before she came over to get our drink order. 10 minutes later or server Kelsey returns with our drinks that had been sitting at the bar because she made them and decided it was more important to clean up behind the bar than give them to us. After sitting for 15 minutes and not even able to place an order we decided we would give her 5 more minutes and then we would leave. She came up to us, explained that she had to deliver food to someone and as soon as she was finished she would come and take our order. She never came back. We decided to leave. TERRIBLE service!! I would never eat here again. If you cannot handle multiple tables then maybe you need to schedule a bartender and a couple servers on the weekends. The bar itself did not seem all the impressive, it looked like a dive on the inside and for the level of service you get, there are better places in Midland to eat at.

I just called Oscar's to see about reserving some space for a business gathering, which would include food and drinks. They were pretty rude to me on the phone, simply stating, "everything can be found online". PS, OSCAR'S- People on the line can hear what you're saying when you set the phone down. Thanks, I'll take our $ and business elsewhere.

Food is usually good. Bartenders are in attentive or absent. Takes a long time to get served. Nobody in the place knows how to work the entertainment system, so good luck watching an NFL game. The owner or manager must be an idiot because they obviously don't care about their customers. Go to Big E's if you want competent service. Oscars advertises as a place to come watch the game but that is obviously a joke.

Oscar's is a pretty standard bar, with lots of beer and T.V.s. They have some interesting menu options, but their service is hit or miss. It's a nice place for trivia and a beer with friends. eatingthemitten.wordpres…

Oscars is the place to "hang out" in Midland. It is the only place that has an entire separate are for non-smokers.There is a middle section with pool tables and games. Food is typical bar food. It tends to be well cooked during the day. The fella that cooks during the day is excellent. Food quality at night is spotty. Full bar service with many televisons and fish tanks to amuse you. The wait staff is friendly and very attentive. Pricing is reasonable. Great place before and after Loons games as it is within walking distance of Dow Diamond.

The more I come here the less I like it. We come here a couple times a year in groups from work and I find the menu very hit or miss. Some items are good, others were downright gross. (My wife and I both hated the salsa in the salsa and chips appetizer, but the beef skewers were tasty.) I think we mainly come here from work because of a lack of decent alternatives in downtown Midland, but we all are looking.

Decent beer selection. Good service. The food I've had there was good. Overall an average bar but a good choice considering the choices in Midland. Downtown on Main St.

This place is very popular with the young set and can get crowded. The food is ok. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Nothing special. came to me as a bunch of "wannabe" tools hanging out in the midland area with nothing to do. On the flip side though, there is absoutly nothing to do in this area, so this is the closest you will get to anything that is remotley being close to a notable establishment. i wouldn't test the food, it isn't that great. they do have a nice little beer menu, but nothing notable on the tap.

One of the better bars ive been to in the Midland Area. Ocsars had a pretty good feel to it, and the server was very friendly and prompt with her service. I also had the food which was pretty good. Its also right near M-20 so its worth stopping into after a trip to Soaring Eagle or Dow Diamond.

given it's location - it's your best choice! it's rare to find a hipster joint in small town michigan, but it's as close as you're going to get here, so enjoy.

My family and I were passing through town and decided to stop by for a late dinner. I tried to pay it safe by ordering a burger, yet the burger I had was horrible. The patty was dry and the cheese was not even melted. The bacon was also dry and the fries were cold. My daughters Mac and Cheese was also cold. Next time we will upgrade the dinner experience and will go to Burger King or McDonalds.

The dollar tacos on Tuesday nights are actually a good size and taste for what you'd expect at a bar. Friendly bartenders, wait staff is ok. This is one of the main spots for Northwood students - so on the occasion that townies are here, they tend to be a weirder crowd. Definitely better than Big E's, but I prefer Diamond Jim's over Oscar's.
