Seriously awful! We were just passing by on our way home from the other side of the state and I wish we had looked at yelp before going in! My son and I both had the chicken tenders. They were rubbery and really, really greasy. My 3 year old son, who loves french fries and specifically asked to go some place with fries when we asked if he had any taste in mind, only ate 4 fries and wouldn't touch the chicken after the first bite. Even the Ranch dressing they served with it didn't taste right! My husband ordered a mexican omelette that was served with hash browns. He said the eggs were spongy and the chili they put inside wasn't even warm. The hash browns were a really odd color and he said they has a vinegary taste. The coffee was decent though. Service was terrible. It took forever to get our food even though we were one of 2 tables occupied. During our meal we could hear the staff fighting loudly at the other side of the dining room. When it was time to pay the bill (waaaay too much for the crap we had just barely consumed) the lady stood with my card in her hand at the register and me standing next to her for at least 2 minutes while she talked with her co-workers. Also, since we still had a 45 minute drive before getting home, I used the restroom right before we left. Had it been my first stop in the restaurant I would have walked right back out. It was disgusting and there wasn't even any soap, which begs the question, "where do the employees wash their hands when they're done?" It also made me wonder about the state of the kitchen. This place is screaming to be on Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares! Don't just walk away, RUN! Worst dining experience in years.

Awsomely Bad! Visiting from out of town and just made a huge mistake stopping here. Got the pepper steak ordered "medium", it came out very over done but worse, it tasted like they cooked fish in the pan before they put the meat in it. It was an odd dish too, it's served over rice, which is great for me because I am avoiding gluten but the peppers and onions are very crispy and the tomatoes don't seem to even be heated. It's also served with a piece of iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato on the side...god only knows for what. I'd have sent it back but my waitress never came back to the table. I ate the rice, which tasted fine, flagged another waitress to get a second glass of tea and eventually just went to the register to pay. My waitress was there talking on a personal call. She rang me up without asking me how my meal was at all, she was still on the phone when I left. I'm pretty sure the positive reviews are not from actual diners but maybe the cook's mother. The salad bar looked very limited to me so I don't understand what anyone could have been raving about on that score either.

There's a reason you only see Buicks parked outside and the place clears out by 5pm. People over 60 frequent this place out of habit but definitely not for the food.

The owner is very nice but the food is not. I don't know who is doing the cooking but they should go work at a car wash. The only spice I could taste is rosemary, and if it didn't taste like rosemary, it didn't taste like anything. I have been in twice now because I wanted to give them a second chance, There wont be a third. If one of the employees reads all of these bad reviews please show them to the owner. I am here now and there are 8 People here including me. It's a Saturday night prime rib buffet and it's 6:00.

The fist time was pretty good, then we went 2 weeks later we went there and the service and food were really bad. The chicken was over cooked and the bean soup was tasteless.

Worst meal ever. Food came cold and to top it off my drink came with a bug in it. If you see this place keep driving.

Quantity Portions: =) Sitting Outdoors at patio table: =) Sharing Food with Bees: =( Loud Cars driving fast on the adjacent road =( Steve's Ranch is a mixture of great home-cooked meals, but the outdoor patio-table experience leaves a lot to be desired. The 5 minutes wait to even have a hostess acknowledge my presence was also disturbing. However, the food was delicious and the value delivered was exceptional, and just what I wanted for a greasy-spoon type of breakfast experience. I give it 3 stars, and for 5 it would need to increase staff response for new guests, and do something about the bees and rumbling cars that disrupt the outdoor eating experience.

I ordered the wheel burger. It's a 1/3 pound burger with the works and it comes with their special homemade chips. It was cooked to order and delicious and is very reasonably priced at $5.99. My daughter ordered the chicken fingers with fries. I tried some and they were delicious the batter that they were fried in was great. The waitress was very friendly and our food was served fast and hot. There is plenty of parking spaces available and the restaurant is really nice and clean. I'll definitely go back and try other dishes.

Worst meal at a restaurant in years. Ordered the Mother's Day "Buffet" where within 45 minutes, [2] of the [4] items were out, and the prime rib looked like it was unwrapped and then merely placed under the heat lamp in the dining room. Salad bar totally picked over, and soup was missing for 20 minutes - after I asked them to refill it. Asked waitress to take my meal off of the ticket, and asked to be charged for the soup and salad I did eat, and was over-charged by her. (Luckily, the "manager" took it off, after I reported my dissatisfaction.) Will definitely not be going back. Might be good for everyday, standard American restaurant dining, but not sure. I hate to give bad reviews for family-owned businesses, but this was pretty bad, as a whole, on this day. Perhaps they bit off more than they could chew?

Not good. Before they redecorated in 2008 the place had that 1970's yellow glass and smokey appeal, but now its just not all that good. Ate here once with my friend and thought it was a 2 star place, went back alone and didn't enjoy it. Looks like they put a lot of money into making the place look more modern, but I think they should have focused on the food instead. If you're inclined to try this place, I would recommend staying home and eating some cold cereal instead.
