So burgers are not bad. Similar to five guys. Yes I think they need seasoning on the patty and I have a hatred for leaf lettuce on anything. Iceberg lettuce and seasoning would put this on my radar. Nothing special about the fries and they have pepsi products. Vanilla milkshake was tasty, but the steel tin it was served in had some rust at the bottom. Ill be back, but no special trip out. As to the library atmosphere in previous reviews.. I'm listening to the benny hill theme song as I am finishing my shake. ;)

Unfortunately another place that has no idea how to correctly season or sear a burger. Bland and forgettable. The place was neat and clean, and the fries were decent, but nothing memorable. Shakes were no better or worse than anywhere else. A little pricey as well. You will get a better value, and burger at Cheeburger Cheeburger down the road a couple of blocks.

Delicious, well crafted burgers, mouthwatering shakes, AND great prices! Handmade chips and french fries are pretty good, too. I'll definitely be back

Move over 5 guys. This place is awesome! Best burger in town by far. Fresh everything, great onion rings and delicious shakes. It's the place to get your burger craving fixed.

I've been to almost all of the burger joints in the Baltimore /Washington metro area. These are the best burgers in my opinion. Perfectly prepared and the taste is phenomenal. The overall presentation of this restaurant will not knock your socks off, but who cares. Don't let that fool you. Accolades for them posting (At least) calories count for each food item. I haven't tried there shakes yet. If they are as good as the burgers, I think I'll sin a bit more next time and try one. If u are in the Annapolis area and crave for a burger, try this place.

Had the double bacon burger, it was excellent. Onion rings were over done, should have sent them back. Milkshakes were unavailable this particular night, not sure why. Staff decent. Will return next time I'm in town.

Five Guys has nothing to fear. Service was pretty good and they even delivered to our table. Ordered the 'cheesy' burger which is essentially a patty melt. Patty melts are usually greasy - this one certainly was. For parity I ordered the house made chips which were slightly over cooked and had a bit of a burned bitter hint to them. Folks with me got the fries and onion rings and I sampled each. Neither was remarkable - too much batter on the onion rings and the fries don't appear to be hand cut and were also nothing to write home about. As I'm not even a huge fan of Five Guys we still don't have any options that can compete with In N Out on the West Coast. They do offer a 9 patty $16.99 'burger' which is pretty ridiculous - not sure how you'd go about even eating that. I don't do shakes so I didn't try those. Won't be going back - needed to review - but no reason to repeat. This will appeal to less picky consumers just fine - but NOT to D. Food Snob, PhD! Giving this 5 stars is pure epicurean dishonesty - it's not even close even if it was slightly better than my visit. Not remotely humbly submitted this day, D. Food Snob, PhD.

Came here twice. The first time in November the cashier expressed enthusiasm for the place. He asked if I like five guys, to which I enthusicatally said yes. He assured me saying this is even better and that he was a big fan of 5 Guys. He was right; it was best fast food burger I've ever had. The second time this past Thursday I'm giving it a 4.5 stars: Food 5 Management 5 Customer Service 2 The cashier was kind of surly to me with his redskins apron, nothing against the redskins...just stating the facts. But then he was nice to other people. Maybe he didn't like that I didn't know what I wanted. I ended up getting the Jakes way back burger and fries, but realized I ordered too much. I really wanted a single burger with fries, which I told the same guy who told the manager. The manager said he would see what he could do. I was surprised he gave me he $2.20 for my fries, but I guess he wanted to see me as a customer again. Considering how great the food is and the way the manager handled the situation, I will definitely go back.

The burger tasted ok. This place is a dump. Dirty. Disgusting. Dump. Ketchup bottles.... Dirty. Tables.... Dirty. Five guys off of Solomons Island Rd, North of Mayo road is much cleaner and their burgers and fries are superior.

We went to Wayback for the first time tonight. The guys behind the counter were great and the food was delicious. Great shake, great burger, great fries, great service. How can you beat that!

Best burger place in Annapolis thus far. The toast on the bun is the best. Had no problem with the service.

WOW - the best burger ever!!! We had dinner there last night and the burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, soft rolls, tomato slice was a large fresh slice of tomato, fresh lettuce, pickles, and the perfect amount of condiments. We were looking for a place to get a hamburger and someone suggested Jake's and said it was similar to 5 Guys. NO WAY - Jake's is SOOOOO much better than 5 Guys. I highly recommend Jake's to anyone who wants to get a delicious hamburger with a large variety of toppings. We will definitely be back and looking forward to our next visit. Oh - the fries were freshly cooked and also delicious. You can't go wrong choosing Jake's Wayback Burgers for a tasty burger.

Great service, they really went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. It can be hard to eat out with kids but they were kid friendly and everything went smoothly. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is that the burgers, although tasty, are really flat. The fries were excellent.

There are many other burger places in the Annapolis areathat shined above the Wayback burger. The burger was dry my fries were cold and the price was high will not be a place that I frequent often.

Awesome burgers. The triple is great and the chili fries were good too. Will definitely be returning to take on the triple triple and To try their monthly pizza burger. Can't wait!

When I saw the triple burger on their website I was impressed. Sure, those shots are doctored and the food model is manipulated to look it's best (not unlike a cover of a Vanity Fair magazine). But the fall is much greater my friends, when expectations created by these ads are so high. My husband and I split the double Jake's burger with everything (cheese, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, lettuce tomato.) Plus we got a jr. vanilla shake and an order of fries. The spuds were quite good and the ice cream concoction had great flavor, although it was way too thick to suck through a straw. The burger was a complete disappointment. The patties were loose, almost crumbly and thin. Where was the juice or the beefy flavor? The everything on the sandwich just made it worse. The burger was overwhelmed by the toppings and not in a good way. This all cost about $15 bucks, with sodas. Jake, you need to go way back and perfect your recipe. As it stands now, Wendy's has you beat by a long shot. And that isn't saying much in the long run.

Came in for lunch today and was blown away by the "stadium" prices and the under par food. I had the overpriced chili cheese dog, medium fries and medium shake. Bill was 17 bucks and the dog wasn't nearly as good as the hot dog stand at lowes.

If you want a quality burger give this place a try. The staff is really friendly and the ingredients are fresh, what more could you ask for from a burger joint? if you're expecting to get a small portion or if you have no self respect just stick to the dollar menu at mcdonalds. I'll be at Jake's.

Wow. New ownership was not what this place needed. They had a new person on the register, which wouldn't be a problem had they provided some help to get the new guy through the trouble spots of learning... I asked what came on the Jake's Double Bacon and was told two patties, cheeses, bacon and "Jake sauce". Got the sandwich and it's got catsup, mustard, pickles, onions, bacon and cheese. Never saw any special Jake sauce... Next up was the prep. The sauce in one of the containers must have been clogged. Prep line solution: grab the scissors out of the pen cup on the counter and stab it into the nozzle to unclog the offending dispenser, wipe the sauce off the scissors and place them back in the pen holder. Thank goodness that wasn't my sandwich they were working on. Onto the drink station. I saw a nice stainless steel dispenser for the fresh iced tea. Problem: no cover on the vat of tea; just open to the air, ready to catch all the "goodness" floating about or being dropped in from above. There seems to be twice as many people working the line and the quality has gone way down. Real shame, I was a big fan too.
