Great place for good old fries with gravy, huge salads and great burgers (or so my boyfriend tells me). The vibe here is super relaxed and the staff are all awesome. With three pool tables you can get on one pretty quickly and its huge so while it does get crowded from time to time it never feels packed. The prices are super reasonable and the portions huge- good job kids!

We come here often, but never when we're in a hurry. Food is consistently good, atmosphere is laid back, and service is often a bit slow. My best advice: just be friendly. This is a neighborhood place and, from what I've seen, you'll be welcomed and taken care of if you act like a decent human being - regardless of your age or background. Introduce yourself to your server, talk to folks at the bar, and have a good time!

This is an Avenue classic that plays well into the hipster/working class roots of Hampden. The bar stools are a bit wobbly, the interior is dark and the food is okay. Generally the service is decent. On a good day it can be a fun spot to grab a pint and have a random conversation with someone who is either too cool for deodorant (hipster), or someone who hasn't worn it since the Carter administration (classic Hampdenite). On a bad day the crowd is loud and drunk, the service is slow, and the bathrooms are a small step above a port-a-john. The crowd out front is a chain-smoking wonder, flinging butts everywhere and slurring conversations about the O's. I have had good times here, but I have also had some run-ins that made me question why I keep coming back. Three stars for the generally decent time, the usually good service, and the Baltimore dive bar ambiance. But unless you're adventurous I would avoid finding yourself here at closing on a Saturday night.

Cheap drink prices, and a dive-y feel drew us into this bar. Frazier's is divided into two separate sections a small darker "bar" area, and a larger more spread out area about triple the size that boasts living room furniture, booths, and a fairly large stage area. We showed up around 9:30 and were not asked to pay a cover for the band. Drinks were cheap, crowd was varied age wise -everyone from old men to college girls were hanging out here. Bonus star because when we walked in they were playing The Craft.

I often end up at Fraziers not because it's where I want to go but because it's where my friends and I inevitably end up when there's nowhere else to go. And why not? It's got just about everything you could want from your local watering hole. Big, cheap, strong drinks? Check. Personable bartenders? Check. Tons of tables so you're sure to find a spot to hunker down no matter how many people you go with? Check. Pool tables? Double check. If I had my druthers I'd prefer to go somewhere a little cozier and a little quieter but if my friends want to drink huge $5 gin and tonics out of plastic cups then who am I to deny them?

I came here for their happy hour, and it has a fun ambience. Everyone is really nice, and I don't remember much about the food or drinks, other than thinking it's a typical neighborhood, Baltimore bar.

Frazier's is the place to go when you don't have other plans and playing some pool and drinking Natty Boh sounds like the only fun thing to do. It's kind of run down looking, kinda dive-y, and surprisingly quite a popular nightlife spot. They serve good bar food, all the staples. Even have a decent brunch.

Fraizers is awesome. The owner Morgan is the best! All bartenders are welcoming and ready to please! Sunday breakfasts' with Hope are great!

My favorite place to drink in Baltimore. Roomy, dark, cool and a with stiff, STIFF whiskey drinks.

Fraziers is great. Generally good bar food - amazing french onion soup, but equally good bad for you food like tots and wings! Chill environment for a Friday or Saturday night in Hampden.

Dive bar vibe here. Neat stuff to look at on the walls. Pretty quiet on a Monday night. Only had beer, so can't comment on the food. It's a big open space with plenty of seating options. Will return on another day as I kinda liked the vibe of this place.

Something has changed here, and I like it. I visited recently. I can't remember what it was called, but I got a flatbread with spinach and crab meat. They used real lump crabmeat and it was amazing! That will definitely be my go to item when I visit again.

Excellent dive bar with two separate areas depending on the atmosphere you're in the mood for. One side is strictly a bar, the other side is more of a dining area with pool tables and a jukebox. Good food, good beer, not overly crowded, reasonable prices, pool tables, and a jukebox: what more could you want? Plus it's a nice escape from all of the other hipster, overly-artsy places in Hampden. (I'm not into that sort of thing) However, the last time I was I sat in the dining room area and was less than impressed with the service. The waitress was a bit slow with everything and didn't seem very knowledgeable regarding the menu or the drink selections available. The nachos were also disappointing-- basically just a plate of stale, cold, overly salted tortilla chips with a sprinkling of cheese, chicken, and jalapenos on the top layer only. Overall, fun place to go. The decor looks like it's been the same since about 1930 but after a few beers I'm sure you won't mind.

Fast friendly service, awesome handformed juicy burgers from ground cow heaven, fresh cut crispy fries, nice local brews on tap ... Mmmmm Can't go wrong! Despite fact it's one huge open booth- lined room the noise level is very low. Totally friendly neighborhood drinking hole with awesome food. My buddy got mussels marinara once too- I can't pass up the burgers! - they were damn good too. In Hampden looking for good beer, good food, good time this tops list!

I love going to eat at Frazier's knowing that it's never going to be packed; even if the service can be slow, I never really mind The burgers here are good and big plus the veggie burgers seem house made

Been coming to Fraziers since 2001. Long before it turned into Hipster central. None the less, it's still a great bar. I used to be able to walk here, have great food, stiff drinks, then stumble home. I've since moved away from Baltimore, but any time I visit, Fraziers is my go to. The food is really good. Burgers are a must. Crab pretzels are amazing. And the crab soups are killer. Always a good time, any night you choose to go. They also serve breakfast, which is delicious. Nothing like being able to party all night, go home to pass out, then wake up and get started all over again. This bar has had a lot of changes since I started going. All for the better. The place is cleaner! Bathrooms included. The new owners are great guys! And you'll never go anywhere else where the shots are bigger and the drinks are stronger!! If you're in Hampden, Fraziers is a must!!! Above all other bars.

More a 3.5, but I like to round up in my reviews. Sometimes you just want cheap beer, good food, and a solid cast of characters at the bar to hang out with. Frazier's is that bar. While there are numerous great bars in and around Baltimore, with some great drinking options dispersed around the avenue; there is something really positive about order 1/2 priced wings and really cheap beer. I've been to Frazier's a few times and the service is always responsive and the bartenders are always friendly. I can't speak for the actual waitstaff as I've only ever eaten at the bar. The food is your regular bar food (though big shout out to their french fries!). As far as atmosphere, Frazier's is one of those bars you can bring a group of friends to and hit hard, watch a game, and have an awesome time while also being a great spot if your looking to have a drink alone and socialize with the other patrons of the bar (who are usually as friendly as the staff). Its the type of neighborhood bar you would hope to have and want in your neighborhood.

I've only had drinks and played pool here so that's where my review is coming from. The drinks were strong and the music was good. There's a juke box and there was great variety. The pool tables have been available both times I've gone so that's cool. I had a Crispin on draft and then switched to wine.

I really do find the Yelp Page for Frazier's highly suspect. This is not a 4 star business and I have my suspicions that someone is padding their rating (either that or a lot of people have really undiscerning taste). I mean, how has a place like this been open this long and the only pictures are uninformative group pictures of people smiling? Well here is a real review. I went to Frazier's for the first time today (7/4/2013). The O's game was on, my family and friends are in NJ so I didn't really have BBQ options, so I thought this would be a cool place to check out and maybe get a burger. The first thing I notice when I walk in is just exactly how dark it is. It's whatever though, I am a sucker for dives when they're done right and this place definitely belongs in the dive genre. I go to the bar and the bartender is an older gentleman (65+). The bar counter appears dirty. There are empty glasses and napkins everywhere. The bartender is getting the check for someone else sitting at the bar and he moves at a snail's pace. I'm pretty off put at this point. After somewhere between 5-10 minutes the bartender gets to taking my order. I ask for his opinion on two locally brewed beers that I've never had before and he lets me sample the one I was leaning towards -- while I do this he cleans up the bar. The beer is great and priced appropriately at $5; I order and ask for a food menu. My mood is now improving and I chalk the messy bar top up to some crowd that must have just emptied out before I walked in -- I give him the benefit of the doubt. The menu to me is unimpressive. They have the typical bar fare -- wings, burgers, fries, nachos, mozzarella sticks etc. They also have a daily special menu that has a gyro listed. The burgers all cost $10-14 or thereabouts. Now, I want a burger, but I think those prices should be reserved for something extraordinary. I will shell out $13 for a burger if it's a bison burger from a fine dining restaurant and comes with red pepper aioli or something fancy. I get the vibe that this place is going to give me a frozen burger patty and give me a product that doesn't match the price, so I go with the $11 gyro instead. At least the gyro isn't something that I typically make at home. After ordering, I have a nice conversation with a couple of the fellow patrons at the bar. I walk to the bathroom and notice that the carpeting in this place is dilapidated, torn, and stained throughout. The Men's room is a disgrace. The mirror has been carved out with someone's pocket knife and it's almost impossible to see your own reflection. Graffiti covers every surface. I am now leery of my meal -- I mean if a place can't keep the portion of it's restaurant that is visible to customers clean -- then imagine what the back looks like? I sit back at the bar the bartender places a napkin down with a fork and knife. I notice something about the fork though -- it's got a white shred of paper stuck to it. I run my fingers over it and notice that the fork is incredibly sticky and that shred of paper is the napkin. Lifting the fork literally pulled apart the napkin it was that sticky. I tell the bartender that I dropped my fork and that I would like a new one -- I didn't have the heart to tell him the truth. My gyro comes out with a small Greek side salad (Pictures included). The side salad is nothing special -- the lettuce is wilted, but the ingredients are at least real. The same cannot be said for the gyro. If I had to use to the kindest adjective I could think of to describe the gyro, it would be "edible." Notice that the meat in the picture included is all of uniform thickness. That is because the meat is frozen and highly processed. Not using actual meat in your restaurant is to me, a multiple star deduction. The tzatziki sauce is bland as is the whole gyro. It's edible, but that's about it. I reluctantly ate, paid my bill, and left. My opinion of Frazier's it's not a bad place to catch an O's game if you're just going to drink a beer and sit at the bar and that's all. It's probably not a bad place to go if you're young and single and looking for a frat house type of atmosphere. Other than that, I would have to label it as a do not repeat.

A Hampden standard. Don't go looking for anything fancy, this is a dive bar. I like how roomy it is and really chill compared to 45 minutes long waits for brunch at any other place on the Ave. I ordered a Greek Salad which had nice sized chunks of feta in it and a very generous portion of lettuce. The only thing I found weird is that there were no olives in it.. how is it a greek salad with no olives? My roommate got the French Onion soup which is quite salty and drowned in cheese. If you're hungover, this will take care of you right away. They have the best Bloody I've had in a while. I really just felt sorry for our waitress, it seemed like she was the only one working and she was an older middle-aged lady. She was very apologetic and kind, and running around like crazy. I just wanted to sit her down and give her a shoulder rub. I couldn't fault her for forgetting my friend's side of fries because she was so over-worked. Still, the service factored into my rating. She was happy to split our check up and brought everything we asked for (albeit slowly). If you come with dive bar expectations, you will be entirely satisfied. If want you act like you're at GW when you come here... well, go down the street ;)

Cheap pool, carpet, booze and food. The service is fast and friendly, and there is a great jukebox. Sure, sometimes it smells like it has been a bar since 1939, but that is only because it has. Also, it is a dive that is split into TWO separate dive bars, depending on your mood. When Frazier's closes, the real Hampden will have died and left the Avenue to all the artisanal soapmakers.

Easy going dive bar in Baltimore that is a favorite among the locals. There is always space and you can always get a Natty Boh with a sandwich.

Hubs and I were looking for some lunch on a freezing weekend afternoon, and we happened to be in the Hampden area, so we decided to try and find a non-trendy, down-to-earth spot for noshing. Frazier's seemed to fill the bill nicely - reading the reviews about good French onion soup certainly helped. Man, was it DARK in here. I could barely find my way to the back of the joint - it was like I'd gone blind almost instantly the minute I walked in the door. I like low lights and intimacy, but really? Frazier's doesn't have an extensive menu, but what they do have, it all looks great and it was hard to select something. I picked the French onion soup (because I was just that damned curious) and a Juicy Lucy platter with chips and pickle. Now, I've been to both the 508 Club AND Matt's Bar in Minneapolis - so I know exactly how a real Juicy (Jucy at Matt's) is supposed to taste. This would have to be one good damned burger to beat either of those. Well, in some ways, my expectations were fulfilled... and then they weren't. Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know what recipe Frazier's uses for their French onion soup - but this is probably THE best version I have ever had outside of my own. This bowl did NOT skimp whatsoever on the onions - and the cheese? Well, just look at the photographs for the quantity of that beautiful, beautiful cheesy goodness. I took one spoonful and had to slow down, way down, because I wanted to savor that taste. Absolutely THE best French onion soup ever. In that, Yelpers got it exactly right. Thank you for that. The Juicy Lucy, however... well, that bliss quickly fell flat. Points for it being cooked EXACTLY how I like it (medium rare) - but little to NO cheese and a bunch of chopped up jalapenos with almost zero flavor. Major disappointment! Not on the level of 508 or Matt's by ANY means. It was okay, certainly edible, but definitely NOT what a true Juicy tastes like. Guess you have to go to Minneapolis for that. Atmosphere was great. Quiet for the most part (although there was some woman sitting at the bar with THE most irritating hyena-like laugh I've EVER heard in my life), definitely not a "hipster" type joint here. I have to laugh at all of the descriptions of "dive bar", though. Clearly those folks have never been to the Double Down in Las Vegas - now THAT'S a dive bar. This place is sedate in comparison. Would we return? Yes, most likely, the food was good and that French onion soup was to die for. Probably fairer to say 3.5 - but the dryness of that "Juicy Lucy" knocked it down a half star or two. I'll probably have something else next time. Not bad.

I go here frequently for drinks, however this time my roommates and I went for dinner. From the looks of it they revamped their menu and it looked really good. I ordered a juicy lucy burger which was HUGE and oh so delicious. The french fries were perefect, too. I had their tots once before and they were really good, too. The service was a little slow but I noticed there was only one waitress for the whole dining room and there were a few large crowds. No worries there, I'll definitely be back. If you like good bar food you should check this place out.

Dive Bar status is cool, WARM tap beer is a failure. Decent selection of a few craft beers but not even close to chilled much less cold. Disappointing

  • Jason P.

This is the epitome of a no-frills local "dive-ish" bar. Come for the beer. Stay for the people you'll meet. Trivia on Tuesdays (tots, too!) Get's busier on the weekends, but plenty of room to stretch out. Quick bar service regardless of crowd size - they know what they're doing. The food is "bar food". The aroma is a little musty. The people can be quirky. There are no bros or woo-girls. And this is why I love it.

Sometimes I'm confused about whether the terms 'locals' and 'hipsters' are meant to be insults when referring to Hampdenites. Anyway, I'm a local, and I like Fraziers and PBRs, so does does that make me a hipster? I think Yelpers are attempting to generalize the crowd here, when really, it totally varies depending on the time of day and day of the week Fraziers is a fun, unpretentious neighborhood place to grab a drink. The bartenders/waiters are friendly and not pushy. They have a cool open mic night and sometimes have other more organized live music. I've seen a few friends' bands play here. The food goes beyond basic bar food (though you can certainly get wings, burgers, fries, etc). I especially like getting a great deal with Wednesday night's half-price entrees. Don't be afraid to try the chef's more creative endeavors; they are pretty good in my experience. Recently, my boyfriend tried the General Tsao's Chicken (it was a special) which I thought was particularly brave. I mean, this is not a Chinese restaurant...but he thought it was awesome. However, my favorite thing about Fraziers is really random; it's their Powerhouse sandwich. As a vegetarian, I typically struggle trying to find healthy food at bars. For some reason, I'm really in love with this overstuffed sandwich and I hope they never take it off the menu. It's cheap (7 bucks), healthy, and delicious. I actually find myself craving it! I have to comment specifically on another yelper's review, which I never do. Martha O. wrote, "When we saw the price of beer, we were shocked. How could anyone afford to go and drink here?" This is *very* confusing as Fraziers is an extremely cheap place to drink. This is not Woodberry Kitchen! They don't even have any beers on their menu that cost more than 7 bucks. Some beers are 2 dollars, and everything is cheap during happy hour (1.50 domestic cans and $2.50 mixed drinks). Even the Union Craft beers are two dollars cheaper than most other places, including bars on the same block- so I truly don't understand Martha's comment. If you can't afford to drink at Fraziers, you should probably not leave the house. It's pretty darn cheap. I heard their brunch is solid too, but have never tried it- so I will have to update when I do.

I've been here a bunch of times, so here is my summary of all the times: Pros: -Great food! (except the french onion soup. I didn't like the broth) The Powerhouse sandwich has lots of veggies and is very tasty. I like it with a side of honey mustard. -Cheap beers - pool tables (not my thing, but friends enjoy it) Cons: -music can be VERY loud. If the music that is playing from the Juke Box is not your kind of music, it can be VERY loud and annoying. I've been here a few times when it's screaming/yelling "music" and I can barely hear myself, let alone another person. - Can be a little dark, so it depends what you're looking for. People watching is def. a plus.

Frazier's is the dive-y non-hipster bar/restaurant on the Avenue. The food can be hit or miss, but is usually decent. It mostly offers homey American dinner and bar classics like country fried steak, burgers, fish and chips, wings, and tater tots. No 'locally sourced' gluten free menus here. They have a daily special menu which usually has a decent option or two. The one thing it has more of than any other bar or restaurant on the Avenue is space. The main room is huge and is never filled to capacity. Sometimes I like space. They have some decent beers on tap, but I have no idea what the happy hour specials are. They aren't as explicit as at some of the other bars. Something about half priced entrees in the middle of the week keeps popping up on websites referencing Fraziers, however that deal is long since gone. Monday is 50 cent wing day and Thursday is half price burger day. On week nights there is a small crowd that shows up to watch Jeopardy in the sidebar room. On Sunday nights all the TVs in the main room are turned to the Walking Dead. Don't expect anything fancy and you won't be disappointed.

Fraziers is a Hampden institution. Sometimes, these places have a legacy interwoven with time, memories, family and familiarity. This sense of appreciation warps the objectivity of the fiercest of Yelpers. Forgive me if I insult those, but I am an outsider. I went there for lunch on a slow Sunday afternoon. The place was mostly empty and dimly lit. The booth we sat in had cracked cushioning, and it matched the dinginess of the entire site. What I Liked: - The hamburger was good. The food was fine. Good value. - Music playing in the background. Despite being so quiet, it added a mid-day vibe to the joint. What I Didn't Like: - I asked for fries. Server missed that request. - Drinks served in plastic cups. - Place seemed dirty, just like the jacked up booth we sat in. Overall, just a boring run of the mill restaurant and bar that is comfortable with their substandard warts. The food is just average, but with all of the growing competition on Hampden's "The Ave" you could do much better. I took a shower when I got home.

Lively place to have a drink if you're in Hampden, Baltimore. Service is friendly. The trivia crowd was out in full force. Paid half the price for a Union Craft Duckpin pint here than I paid half hour earlier at The Food Market.

If you're looking for a good go-to place for a late night bite, a quick beer, or some great crab dip on the avenue, look no further! Frazier's may not look like much, but the booths are super comfy, the service is friendly, and the prices won't hurt your wallet. A shared appetizer and two entrees only ran us $27. It's definitely worth stopping for.

In my review of Holy Frijoles I called it the middling middle of Hampden's "The Avenue." However, if the middle could have a bottom of the barrel it would be Frazier's. It's a dive...and you will find the deepest, darkest depths of Hampden humanity here, from its angsty locals who grew up here and are ready for a fight on a Saturday night, to slumming hipsters who slowly, over time, realize, "I'm not just taking a faux dive anymore...unless I actually come up for air." Sure there are dives that are a deeper descent, but this one lets you tread water just long enough that you have enough air to go the bottom and come up again...probably because it's so damn big. Frazier's manages to bring the snobs and the mobs together for this very reason. They have enough safe space to eye each other up and down, mock each clique that's not their own with their friends, and then dare each other to try and pick up someone from another world...or invite them to a fight outside. Look, the food isn't great, but you get a lot of it. The cocktails aren't artisan, but neither are their prices. If you go on karaoke night you can't help but have a great time whether you are laughing at, or with the participants. The staff, however, is tops, and what makes this a welcoming joint that brings people back again and again. They're a friendly wisecracking bunch and clearly willing to tolerate just about anybody. Other places, you can smell the judgment from bartenders and servers alike. These guys? They've seen it all. They've served it all. And they'll see it and serve it all again with a smile on their faces.

Dark and a little on the dive side of things, but I've always had friendly and pretty fast service, and I've been pleasantly surprised by a number of menu items, especially the burgers and nachos. I don't know that anything here would wow anybody, but it's reliable bar food in a pretty enjoyable atmosphere.

Frazier's is holding on and blends old hampden with hipster hampden. Both groups can be found hanging here. They have reasonable food specials. For $10 you will be full. They have some junk food favorites like tots in various styles. Good burgers and wings also. Not high brow, but a quality place to grab some eats.

It's a big place with an authentic neighborhood feel. With the good and bad that goes with it. It's good inexpensive food. The bar side is good, friendly and affordable as well. Go there all the time and quite enjoy it. The staff is friendly but feel like real people. The atmosphere is like that as well. Not hipsterfied as you might expect in this area, though I don't mind those places either.

Sometimes its great sometimes its horrible. I never understood why I could be the only one eating and receive my meal at the same rate as to a full restaurant. 45 minutes for a burger while no one else is in the joint. DONT UNDERSTAND. Also, the bartender was the same lady serving my table.

I've been here plenty just never got around to writing a review until now. Back in the days of smoking the the bar, this place was a hip, laid back local joint where you could often find Landis Expandis (of the All Mighty Senators for those of you not in the know). I loved this place even with the smoke. The food has a wonderful flavor to it and it is very much the home cooking, stick to your ribs, feel good food. Most recently we poped in there again (this time with a child in tow) and found it just as wonderful as before - sans smoke. YAH! Have had the crab pretzel- pretty typical soft pretzel with crab and cheese on top- but oh so yummy. Soft bread with a slightly salty crab topping. Yum. The fries are hand cut with skin on (Boardwalk style) and are FANTASTIC. We got them with the beef gravy (welcome to Baltimore, hon) and the beef gravy was thick and very very flavorful. This side did not disappoint. The meatloaf tastes homemade and is wonderful, though a touch salty. We've also had the burgers, though it's been a while. Overall, the bar is a local one (read: darker, not updated, and I'm my opinion, very welcoming) and the food is home cooked and delicious at reasonable prices. Oh- and don't pick up the quarter on the floor- all the locals will laugh at you- it's glued down ;)

This review is for breakfast on the weekends. Frazier's is a good bar the rest of the week, but has become our "go to" place for Saturday or Sunday breakfast in Hampden. Extremely reasonably priced. Fantastic service; Hope, the server, throws on a pot of decaf when she sees my wife walk in. The menu is pretty standard, but then they shake it up with weekly specials. They'll even take off-the-menu orders if they have the ingredients (i.e. a breakfast burrito). Bacon is super crisp without being burned, and the home fries might just be the best in Baltimore.

I hate to write a bad review, but I want to warn anyone who wants good service, good food, and reasonably priced drinks to stay away. I am in the food biz and know there are just some places that you don't bring high expectations and Fraziers was one of them, but man! This was the worst ever. We came in on Friday night for some wings. We were seated promptly, but the place was so dark we couldn't read the menu (makes you wonder what's on the floor!). When we saw the price of beer, we were shocked. How could anyone afford to go and drink here? We ordered and the service was fairly prompt, although I also wanted a salad but was very scared to order anything not cooked. We ordered Jerk chicken wings, but they were hardly seasoned at all. We tried to get some hot sauce, but our server was nowhere to be found. I finally went to the kitchen door to try to get someone's attention, only to be yelled at by a waitress. When we were ready to leave, our surly server gave us the bill without saying a word. We passed him on our way out and he didn't say thank you, good night or anything. We will not be back.

This review is strictly bar related as I've never eaten there. Cheap beers, juke box, 3 pool tables, no douche-bags. If you're looking go out and pound some beers without killing your wallet or dodging meatheads, head on over to Frazier's.......

I don't drink, so I'm almost never at bars. There's no point. But if I do go to a bar, it's to watch either baseball or football. And it's Frazier's. This is the perfect sports bar -- relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, the clientele are enjoyably rowdy, and it's spacious enough to accommodate a lot of patrons without feeling suffocating.

This place reminds of a place I use to go to in college only bigger and a wider age range. It's a very chill atmosphere and the bartender is really nice. You definitely get a wide group of people...some a little older than I expected. The wings are delicious! Oh and there are pool tables around but I've never used them. Probably be cool place to go with a couple of friends to drink beer and catch up.

If you like scaring your friends with a seemingly tough-ass bar, then come here. It's actually not at all scary, but out of towners might freak out a little what with all of the beards and tattoos and old Bawlmer regalia on the walls. I first came here with the kids from Charm City Swing, and since that initial refreshing (and slightly fruity) Magic Hat #9, I've been a weekly regular here. The food is unassuming but surprisingly well tended to, especially under the new chef, who made me a killer chicken salad with a liberal helping of bacon on it. You will like Frazier's if: 1. You like to drink 2. You like bacon 3. You think tattoos are beautiful 4. You like to play pool 5. You are alive You will not like Frazier's if: 1. You are on the wagon 2. You have an octopus on your head 3. You hate cute bartenders 4. Pool tables give you flashbacks of unhappy times 5. You are not alive Sometimes they have music here. If you're not into seeing a band, the front bar is closed off so you can enjoy your beard/tattoo/person with octopus on their head watching in more or less seclusion.

Frazier's is like an old battle axe of a football coach. He'll look you in the eye, spit, and tell you if you don't have fundamentals you don't have shit. This is a bars bar. The drinks are stiff, the bar tenders are solid, and it's nice and dark with music and new friends swarming around just looking to be made. The food is bar food, this isn't the Olive Garden. I've never had a bad night and the patrons run the gamut, you can always find a good conversation. I will recommend the buffalo chicken tenders if you like a delicious grease loaded hunk of spicy chicken. Also, BEST BATHROOM GRAFFITI IN HAMPDEN. Hands down. I love to have a good laugh while I'm taking a piss. This place never fails me. And yeah....I know, if I want a good laugh while I piss all I have to do is look down. inb4 you! Bam! The List: Jason, Morgan, hope. Tip them well!

This place is pretty big, which means there's plenty of room to hang out with your friends on a Friday night, something that is hard to find in most bars. Great little neighborhood bar, and they have Natty Boh on tap. Delicious.

So I had invited my friend up to meet me and Michelle B at the Club Chazzzzz except he got off work a little late, and when he biked up I was like, "sorry brah we are going to frazier's on the ave for some girl's birthday party" and he was like "what, I am listening to music" and Michelle was like "I'll bike up with you up remington" and I go, "what the fuck is remington" and I am thinking about Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele and man is that a sexy name like if I told a girl my name was Remington Steele she'd let me into her vault in order to activate the O-bomb if you get what I am saying(like she'd probably cum at some point...after I left and went home) and I was like "okay guys I'll meet you up there because I have to scoot scoot on Cherrybomb" and then I got lost and met a couple going to a potluck party off of like 41st or something, and while the girl was giving me directions holding a pan of what appeared to be brownies but could have been a badly made casserole or like a gluten free lasagna I was looking at them like "man, you are like a 4 or a 5 and that girls is smoking hot, so I have to applaud you" but I didn't applaud out loud, I just sort of did it in my head because it's probably scary to have someone randomly scoot up to you late at night and just start clapping unless it's hipster Kaiser Soze and he's just chillin', and eventually I found the fucking avenue and I realized that "Frazier's on the Avenue" is not "Fraziers: on the Avenue" as in the name of the place is also the address and that kind of blew my mind but it also blew my mind that I showed up right when Michelle and my housemate showed up so they must bike really fast or something and then we got drunk. Specifically, we drank beers. Then I played pool with this Iranian dude that was really good, like Paul Newman in "The Color of Money" after he leaves Tom Cruise good. We had a tense game, sweating bullets, each of us trying to intimidate the other and after the game we shook hands like bros because bro, when you bro out on the brool table which is the accurate name for it, you are definitely bros, bro. The beers were well priced I think...who fucking cares? Do you honestly care if they carry your fucking favorite craft beer? There are couches to make out on, pool tables, hot girls, alcohol of some sort...what the fuck else do you need in a bar? This is the problem with reviewing bars - really I could just say "I got drunk and looked at a girl's tits" but that doesn't make it any different from any other bar. There is a, oh I don't know, "je ne sais quoi" about good bars that make them good. Maybe the type of nipple on the tits I am looking at? I understand shy nipples are like 4th most popular in the world? I dunno. There were a lot of cute indie rock girls here too, sort of dancing but not really in that awkward "I'm a white chick dancing to hip hop and don't know what to do with my arms, like that weakerthans song Elegy for Elsbet" and I get the feeling that if I were a regular at this bar I would probably take home a lot of strange...not because the girls are slutty, but because I'm a good looking dude with dimples and what else do you need at 2AM? When you are talking to a girl about the weakerthans and smoking a maverick menthol outside? Fuck mavericks. When we were leaving my housemate ran into a former coworker and her hot platinum blonde friend, and and I was like "i'd like to see if platinum really does have more tensile strength than gold" but I thought it in a classy, not sexy way, just thinkin' about chemistry biatch. If I had said that to her I think she would have slapped me but it's ok, it's ok, man because it's Fraziers: On the motherfuckin' avenue.

Two sides, both serve food. The smaller side has 2 pool tables and a smaller bar. The other side is the restaurant area with tables, chairs and couches. Plenty of room to relax. Some nights they have bands play, this would be a good side to check the place out. Bartenders are all very nice (Ray, Jason, Morgan) and will serve you quickly. Never had a bad experience with them! A mixed crowd from all around Hampden, and thankfully, not over-run with hipsters. At night the atmosphere is kickin and crowded. Get your picks in early on the jukebox or you might not hear your song. The chicken quesadilla is awesome, best one I've had ANYWHERE thus far! All of the food is decent, but shouldn't be your main reason to come here. It's just a really cool place to drink in Hampden.

The food was good... Nothing to write home about, but hit the spot. The wings were meaty and they did have a mean soft pretzel. The corned beef sub looked good but I didn't have it. We had a group of about 40 people and with several weeks of notice (and multiple day confirmations) they weren't really able to t handle the rush. They have TVs in the dining area. For a football Sunday, it was pretty dead.

This place was a terrible dining experience. My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite before going to a concert. We weren't that hungry so he ordered a BLT and I ordered a bowl of french onion soup. It took 25 minutes for our food to come, and when it did, my soup was not hot anymore, so the melted cheese on top was just a big congealed lump. We asked for our check as soon as the food came because we were now running late for the show, and it took our waitress another 10 minutes to bring it. I will never be coming here again.

Frazier's is a great Hampden spot. The jukebox is great, the crowd is diverse, the food will surprise you, 'and they gotta pool table too' (Garth quote!). It's the bar staff that keeps you coming back (ESP. Jason). One of my favorite watering holes.

I used to go to Frazier's all the time. It reminds me of... blacking out. Yes, I realize the irony. It reminds me of "forgetting." This is largely due to the very kind bartenders and gigantic shots they pour. (Also, due to the fact that I used to like to guzzle shots like it was my job). Also, as other Yelpers have mentioned, you don't ever want to leave. It's the kind of place you can come hang out and eat dinner for cheap, move on over to the Karaoke room and sing some tunes, then drink your embarrassment at the bar. Definitely the best bar in Hampden and one of the best in the city.

Frazier's a big, wide, roomy space of a bar that seems like it must be pretty blue-collar, but it's actually a place for everyone. The food is just fine, the drink selection is above average, and the service is their best feature - most of the waitresses I've had are all grandma-like in their demeanor, bringing you drinks without asking, and making sure you feel welcome.

Love Free Pool and $1.50 Yuengling Drafts on Monday! Don't be fooled by the "small side". The place is huge and attracts an array of patrons. Jason and Morgan are the best!

I still think that Fraziers deserves five stars for being a great neighborhood bar, but I am not sure why my review was filtered by Yelp... perhaps I am not "elite" enough. (I have no idea why this bothers me so much, but it really does. I wrote an honest positive review... I do not work for Fraizers. Grrrrrr....)

Fraziers is ... Alright. During the day it is quieter, and they actually have some good food. I really enjoyed the mushroom ravioli I had there recently. At night, it is usually crowded and louder (which is to be expected right?!). They often have bands, and karaoke. There is a quieter smaller bar on the right side of the restaurant, and a larger bar on the left, with tables at which to eat. Pool tables on both sides. Sometimes gets really loud - I went with a group one weekend night and the music ( not live) was so loud we literally could not talk while we were there. That was a one drink and go night!

Frazier's is one of my favorite bars in Baltimore. Though the bar sports a rugged and dive-y appearance, it's staff are all welcoming, attentive and outgoing. In two visits to Frazier's, I had two vastly different experiences, both positive. On my first visit, I stayed on the smaller "bar" side, which, despite it's tough outer shell, is as invitingly intimate as any bar in Baltimore. Here, fellow patrons and bartenders, alike, were friendly. The music selection was an eclectic collection of death metal, indie rock, classic rock, and hip hop. "Jackass" silently entertained on the television. On my second visit, I planned to re-create my pleasant prior experience, but found along the way that some friends were going to see a local band who was playing that night. We met on the larger side of Frazier's, which has a more inviting casual-dining ambiance than it's sibling next door. This side of Frazier's has a vast variety of pop culture artifacts interspersed with bits of Baltimore that are proudly displayed on its walls in a mesmerizing mezcla of memorabilia. I also have to agree with earlier reviewers who suggest Frazier's has the best bathroom graffiti in town. At one point, I seem to remember seeing He-Man's Sword of Power sloppily drawn in the center of the men's room door. There was a very reasonable $5 cover to see the bands playing that night. The music was good, and "Red Sammy", who add a steel dobro to their brand of electricoustic rock, was my highlight. There was a good crowd and musicians mixed and mingled before and after their sets. Frazier's seems to have a good variety of beer, though I always feel inclined to drink Natty Boh, the Baltimore staple, when here. I have yet to have the food here, but I have heard it is excellent as far as pub fare goes. I will definitely be returning, and may even make this my new default.

Hands down best bar in hampden. The bartenders are all awesome and very personable. The shots are ridiculous. Typically I'll go in for a shot and a cocktail and leave pretty bent. I haven't eaten here too much but when I have its been pretty decent bar food. The bar gets 5 stars and food gets 3.

Don't get it twisted. Fraziers is a local bar. In a hood like Hampden with a high amount of tourist traffic Fraziers keeps the lights down low and the beer on flow. That being said, I've never seen them treat a patron badly who was not deserving of a kick in the ass. Once you've been there only a few times, though, you can consider yourself a friend. Be cool and they'll bend over backwards for you. Be all snooty and demanding and you might as well walk on over to Hon Bar and save everyone your drama. Juke box here is pretty cool and they have one in each room. I remember one hung over Sunday morning we were having breakfast at Le Fraz and a group of older folks were playing pool and had stocked the jukebox with Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Kenny Rogers. I wouldn't put this in on a Sat night but on a Sunday morning coming down it was mother's milk. Wed. is still 1/2 price entre night and Thurs is 1/2 price burger night. The cooks have changed and it is not the best dish in town anymore but the burgers are still bangin' and 1/2 price entres are still the best deal in town. And our favorite bartender, Morgan, was voted 3rd best bartender in Baltimore by the B readers.

review for 12/2007: wednesday night is half-price entree night which is the only thing that could make frazier's meatloaf better. everything is affordable, crab dip and those deep fried pita pufflets will ruin your life with joy, the waitstaff is attentive without being clingy and they you can get beer takeout on sundays. A+ 5/2010: everything went way downhill - changes in cooks and the food got awful. total bummer.

Frazier's has really good breakfast, believe it or not. It seems like not too many people know about them serving breakfast, because the place is always empty, except for the regular old men that sit around a big table and talk. They have your standard breakfast fare, nothing fancy. The prices are cheap and the food is good. I always go for the 3 eggs, meat, hashbrowns, and toast for $4.50. You can't beat it. The only problem is the portions are too big to eat. The waitress is always friendly and quick to refill your coffee. All in all a good place to get a filling breakfast on a weekend morning.

Not bad.

Fraziers is great. Generally good bar food - amazing french onion soup, but equally good bad for you food like tots and wings! Chill environment for a Friday or Saturday night in Hampden.

Great neighborhood spot. I go specifically for cheesy fries and Allagash White beer:)

Dive bar vibe here. Neat stuff to look at on the walls. Pretty quiet on a Monday night. Only had beer, so can't comment on the food. It's a big open space with plenty of seating options. Will return on another day as I kinda liked the vibe of this place.

People watching is def. a plus.

  • Jonathan G.

  • Jennifer S.

All in all a good place to get a filling breakfast on a weekend morning.

review for 12/2007: wednesday night is half-price entree night which is the only thing that could make frazier's meatloaf better. everything is affordable, crab dip and those deep fried pita pufflets will ruin your life with joy, the waitstaff is attentive without being clingy and they you can get beer takeout on sundays. A+ 5/2010: everything went way downhill - changes in cooks and the food got awful. total bummer.

Frazier's is the place to go when you don't have other plans and playing some pool and drinking Natty Boh sounds like the only fun thing to do. It's kind of run down looking, kinda dive-y, and surprisingly quite a popular nightlife spot. They serve good bar food, all the staples. Even have a decent brunch.

Cheap. Beer. Music. Sports. That is all.
