i have wanted to try this place for three years cus i thought the name was clever but the food was a huge disappointment. the ribs had no smoke flavor (hi ummm cooking ribs for along time is not BBQ ok?). also the prices on the menu out front were one dollar less than the prices inside. cheesy. i checked the box and will never go there again.

I really like this place and go OFTEN. It is not as good as the Edgewater one, but is a lot closer to my home. I am giving it a 4 star rating because in balance over the years, I am more than happy with the food and service. Last night is a good example of how this little local hole in the wall can shine. The roasted corn soup was great (and perfect on a cold rainy winter evening) and the Chicken Chesapeake was as good as I have had at an upscale restaurant. Included with the $11 entree were 2 sides: I got a fluffy baked potato and a salad that was so big that with the soup I couldn't finish the chicken and potato (so now I have a nice lunch for today) To me that is quite a bargain and I left feeling fat and happy and so glad this gem is down the street. The chicken wings are the best I've had in town and I've done quite a search (I have yet to try Atlas which has the rep for the best, but all others have been woefully inferior) I have been told that the soups are made in house from scratch and they are consistently great (except the French Onion soup which is difficult to meet my standards) I wish they would add some of the menu items available at the Edgewater restaurant like Bourbon Salmon--they offer a citrus salsa version which I don't like nearly as much. And I also wish they would make rice a permanent side dish--their starches are limited to baked potato, sweet potato or french fries and when you go as often as I do, that is pretty limited. And their ribs are not as good as Red, Hot & Blue--but no ribs in Annapolis are truly what I would call great. Their's are good and when I occassionally have a rib craving, they are adequate enough that I am not inclined to go farther. The steamed shrimp, burgers, bourbon beef or pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, and french fries are all very good. And their crab cakes are surprisingly good. Their steaks range from sublime to grisley and I can't advise as to how to get the former rather than the latter--I can only say that most of them over the years have been very good at a very low cost. The staff are always friendly and I feel a bit like I am on the set of Cheers while I am there. Sometimes I eat at the bar and watch the sports events on the tv sets. In the winter, I always try to get a table near the cozy fireplace. It ain't the Ritz, just a darn good get down dirty place with good food at reasonable prices.

We ordered take out, two full racks of ribs, baked beans, applesauce, and a baked sweet potato. The ribs were outstanding, the meat fell right off the bone, and they had just enough BBQ sauce on them - not so much that it overwhelms the taste of the meant. The sides were good, but the ribs were really a standout. I'll look forward to going back if I'm ever in the area again.

We go there as a family every couple of months. It's always a treat. The place is warm and busy and they have very friendly service. The servers aree always sweet to our kids and seem to understand that Mom and Dad are hoping to enjoy the dinner as well - so they offer crayons and paper for the kids and the cocktails are served quickly :) Ribs and pulled pork are outstanding, the buffalo chicken sandwich is a favorite of mine. I had the ahi tuna once ... pretending to be healthy. It was fine, but this ain't the place to go for the healthy options. Go for the burger, ribs, chicken etc., and just enjoy it.

I like the feel of the place, but if I had my choice between Barebones in Ellicott City, or Urban Barbecue or Adams I'd have to go with one of the afore mentioned places... As far as a spot to get a rack of Ribs, their name says it all! I don't come here for much more than the ribs because I am pretty sure I'll be disappointed, but I've not tried anything else on their menu personally... I like their ribs too much to try anything else. My recent visit was like those of the past, ordered the full rack of ribs. Cooked properly and sauced perfectly. My guest ordered the BBQ Chicken and raved about its smokey tender texture and taste. I always get good customer service here.

I came here last night for dinner after hearing so many rave reviews about Adam's (at various locations)! This location was much smaller than I had expected, considering their popularity, but we were fortunately able to be seated right away. The decor inside was similar to a Famous Dave's or Longhorn - you can tell that this place is itching to be franchised nationwide! They had the funny signs saying little Southern catchphrases y'all, big wooden statues of traditionally dressed Native Americans, a big stained glass pig behind the bar, and we sat across from a Texas flag (despite Adam's, as far as I know, only being located in Maryland). It had the kitsch and thematic continuity of any good chain restaurant so I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years down the line Adam's is really on the map. For dinner I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich. The chicken was very good and very tender. However, the BBQ sauce is, I'm fairly certain, their own special mixture and I think it's vinegar based. In any case it was really very runny and drippy, not gooey enough to actually stay on the chicken. While I'm not suggesting that gooey BBQ sauce is the way to go across the board, it would maybe make some sense to thicken it up for the sandwich. As I ate it the sauce dripped right off the chicken and onto the plate, and by my last few bites it was more like a well seasoned chicken breast than BBQ chicken. I'm also really glad it didn't drip right onto my white dress! Absent that minor issue, for which I used approximately 15 napkins, the rest of the food that I tried was delicious! The BBQ sauce really is good, and I like how they have 1 bottle at each table with 1 type. I love choices as much as anyone, but sometimes when you go to BBQ joints and they have 15 different types of sauce to choose from it can get daunting. Adam's has what they have and they know how to do it well. The french fries were excellent, very crispy and actually maintained potato flavor. It made me think about how often we eat fries that taste good and fried and seasoned but not actually like potato. And finally, oddly enough my favorite food of the evening, the coleslaw! I don't even like coleslaw all that much, but this stuff is good! It's cold, it's fresh, it has flavor... I don't know what it is about it exactly that makes it so good, but it's definitely worth trying! Finally the staff was attentive and very friendly. We checked in on Yelp so that we could get a free beer and she knew exactly what to do. Overall, a very good experience, and now I'm curious to check out some of the other Adam's locations!

Pricey for a Rib Shack. $11.00 for a cheeseburger - Really ???! $21 for a rack of ribs, good taste, but no bargain. I find all the menu items are the same price as a "fancy restaurant " but your at a local pub style joint. I dunno if it's worth it or not, still deciding, I feel like since they have good ribs and people go there for them, they clip you for everything else on the menu. Anyway when you leave... You'll be full, but your wallet will be empty.

A sit-down restaurant that delivers the food fast and in hunger-satisfying portions. I've posted a picture of the "small" rack of ribs - for $16, it's a huge meal. The meat on the ribs is definitely tender, but they do smear it with quite a bit of BBQ sauce. If that's not your thing, tell them to go easy on the sauce -- but there's not too much flavor in the meat itself. I've also had their crabcake which was surprisingly good. The restaurant has more of a bar feel, with a lot of open standing space by the bar and several TVs. Not for a nicer date night, but it can be a fun place. And definitely a pass for vegetarians or dieters -- the menu is not very accommodating in that sense.

The service was friendly, attentive, informative (on the degree of the spiciness of my entree) and suggestive (in my choices of entrees). I am never disappointed when I make a trip to Adams.. My favorite is the bbq chicken sandwich, always cooked to perfection. Bbq sauce has a nice tang with a little kick. Drinks are also very fairly priced. Great little Eastport gem!

I have lived in Eastport for 10 years and have gone to Adams Ribs with reduced frequency during this time. Heck I even remember living in DC and driving all the way to ANP just to come to one of the Adams Ribs. Used to order ribs to take home at least once or twice a month. But last two experiences were very unimpressive at best. Last month we ordered ribs to take home and my girlfriend and I agreed, never again. Not as good as we remembered them to be. Last night we were looking for a quick place to go and I suggested Adams Ribs. She said "I thought we weren't going to go there again?" and I answered "well you can just get soup and salad", so she agreed. I ordered the Bourbon Brisket Sandwich, which was overcooked, overly sweet, tasteless and dry. Cole slaw was excellent as always. the fries were "fries", but I was surprised that the server didn't ask me if "fries were ok as a side" because I would have chosen something else. Girfriend's Caesar salad was good as was the Maryland crab soup, but nothing that you couldn't get anywhere else. Sever came by to check on us a few minutes after our food arrived, and as I gathered my thoughts and began to tell her that I didn't like my sandwich, I looked up and she was gone!!! Obviously this was a routine question and she wasn't interested in my answer. then when I went to order another beer, to wash down my very dry sandwich, she was nowhere to be seen. Nothing worse than needing a beer "NOW" and not being able to order one. Girlfriend and I are now resolute in our decision to not come back here again. Too many other good options around and this Adams Ribs is mediocre at best

Now all they need are coupons, groupons or any other kind of of deal for us cheapo types.

Dave's out by the mall generally has better quality food, but who wants to go out there? The food is usually good, but the menu unfortunately has changed little in 20 years.Yes, you can hop in, get a decent pulled pork barbecue sandwich and a coke and get out the door for a little more than 10 dollars with tip. But order ribs and your wallet will start to hurt. They're good, but not $20 a rack good. The wine list is egregiously overpriced and boring. You'll usually get good service for carry out or dine-in, but the place has not been renovated since the dark ages. The best way to describe the atmosphere would be "dank" and "musty." Not dirty, really, but in need of an update. Looking for a quick weeknight bite with the prospect of fairly decent food and decent service? Not a bad bet, but with the aforementioned caveats. I would give it a 2.5 if the system allowed it.

The ribs were outstanding, the meat fell right off the bone, and they had just enough BBQ sauce on them - not so much that it overwhelms the taste of the meant. The sides were good, but the ribs were really a standout. I'll look forward to going back if I'm ever in the area again.

I really like this place and go OFTEN. It is not as good as the Edgewater one, but is a lot closer to my home. I am giving it a 4 star rating because in balance over the years, I am more than happy with the food and service. Last night is a good example of how this little local hole in the wall can shine. The roasted corn soup was great (and perfect on a cold rainy winter evening) and the Chicken Chesapeake was as good as I have had at an upscale restaurant. Included with the $11 entree were 2 sides: I got a fluffy baked potato and a salad that was so big that with the soup I couldn't finish the chicken and potato (so now I have a nice lunch for today) To me that is quite a bargain and I left feeling fat and happy and so glad this gem is down the street. The chicken wings are the best I've had in town and I've done quite a search (I have yet to try Atlas which has the rep for the best, but all others have been woefully inferior) I have been told that the soups are made in house from scratch and they are consistently great (except the French Onion soup which is difficult to meet my standards) I wish they would add some of the menu items available at the Edgewater restaurant like Bourbon Salmon--they offer a citrus salsa version which I don't like nearly as much. And I also wish they would make rice a permanent side dish--their starches are limited to baked potato, sweet potato or french fries and when you go as often as I do, that is pretty limited. And their ribs are not as good as Red, Hot & Blue--but no ribs in Annapolis are truly what I would call great. Their's are good and when I occassionally have a rib craving, they are adequate enough that I am not inclined to go farther. The steamed shrimp, burgers, bourbon beef or pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, and french fries are all very good. And their crab cakes are surprisingly good. Their steaks range from sublime to grisley and I can't advise as to how to get the former rather than the latter--I can only say that most of them over the years have been very good at a very low cost. The staff are always friendly and I feel a bit like I am on the set of Cheers while I am there. Sometimes I eat at the bar and watch the sports events on the tv sets. In the winter, I always try to get a table near the cozy fireplace. It ain't the Ritz, just a darn good get down dirty place with good food at reasonable prices.

We go there as a family every couple of months. It's always a treat. The place is warm and busy and they have very friendly service. The servers aree always sweet to our kids and seem to understand that Mom and Dad are hoping to enjoy the dinner as well - so they offer crayons and paper for the kids and the cocktails are served quickly :) Ribs and pulled pork are outstanding, the buffalo chicken sandwich is a favorite of mine. I had the ahi tuna once ... pretending to be healthy. It was fine, but this ain't the place to go for the healthy options. Go for the burger, ribs, chicken etc., and just enjoy it.

I like Adams for local barbecue. The half chicken platter is actually great to get as carry out to split for two people. Good value on that. I like the feel of the place, but if I had my choice between Barebones in Ellicott City, or Urban Barbecue or Adams I'd have to go with one of the afore mentioned places... As far as a spot to get a rack of Ribs, their name says it all! I don't come here for much more than the ribs because I am pretty sure I'll be disappointed, but I've not tried anything else on their menu personally... I like their ribs too much to try anything else. My recent visit was like those of the past, ordered the full rack of ribs. Cooked properly and sauced perfectly. My guest ordered the BBQ Chicken and raved about its smokey tender texture and taste. I always get good customer service here.

I came here last night for dinner after hearing so many rave reviews about Adam's (at various locations)! This location was much smaller than I had expected, considering their popularity, but we were fortunately able to be seated right away. The decor inside was similar to a Famous Dave's or Longhorn - you can tell that this place is itching to be franchised nationwide! They had the funny signs saying little Southern catchphrases y'all, big wooden statues of traditionally dressed Native Americans, a big stained glass pig behind the bar, and we sat across from a Texas flag (despite Adam's, as far as I know, only being located in Maryland). It had the kitsch and thematic continuity of any good chain restaurant so I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years down the line Adam's is really on the map. For dinner I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich. The chicken was very good and very tender. However, the BBQ sauce is, I'm fairly certain, their own special mixture and I think it's vinegar based. In any case it was really very runny and drippy, not gooey enough to actually stay on the chicken. While I'm not suggesting that gooey BBQ sauce is the way to go across the board, it would maybe make some sense to thicken it up for the sandwich. As I ate it the sauce dripped right off the chicken and onto the plate, and by my last few bites it was more like a well seasoned chicken breast than BBQ chicken. I'm also really glad it didn't drip right onto my white dress! Absent that minor issue, for which I used approximately 15 napkins, the rest of the food that I tried was delicious! The BBQ sauce really is good, and I like how they have 1 bottle at each table with 1 type. I love choices as much as anyone, but sometimes when you go to BBQ joints and they have 15 different types of sauce to choose from it can get daunting. Adam's has what they have and they know how to do it well. The french fries were excellent, very crispy and actually maintained potato flavor. It made me think about how often we eat fries that taste good and fried and seasoned but not actually like potato. And finally, oddly enough my favorite food of the evening, the coleslaw! I don't even like coleslaw all that much, but this stuff is good! It's cold, it's fresh, it has flavor... I don't know what it is about it exactly that makes it so good, but it's definitely worth trying! Finally the staff was attentive and very friendly. We checked in on Yelp so that we could get a free beer and she knew exactly what to do. Overall, a very good experience, and now I'm curious to check out some of the other Adam's locations!

I find all the menu items are the same price as a "fancy restaurant " but your at a local pub style joint. I dunno if it's worth it or not, still deciding, I feel like since they have good ribs and people go there for them, they clip you for everything else on the menu. Anyway when you leave... You'll be full, but your wallet will be empty.

A sit-down restaurant that delivers the food fast and in hunger-satisfying portions. I've posted a picture of the "small" rack of ribs - for $16, it's a huge meal. The meat on the ribs is definitely tender, but they do smear it with quite a bit of BBQ sauce. If that's not your thing, tell them to go easy on the sauce -- but there's not too much flavor in the meat itself. I've also had their crabcake which was surprisingly good. The restaurant has more of a bar feel, with a lot of open standing space by the bar and several TVs. Not for a nicer date night, but it can be a fun place. And definitely a pass for vegetarians or dieters -- the menu is not very accommodating in that sense.

I am never disappointed when I make a trip to Adams.. My favorite is the bbq chicken sandwich, always cooked to perfection. Bbq sauce has a nice tang with a little kick. Drinks are also very fairly priced. Great little Eastport gem!

I have lived in Eastport for 10 years and have gone to Adams Ribs with reduced frequency during this time. Heck I even remember living in DC and driving all the way to ANP just to come to one of the Adams Ribs. Used to order ribs to take home at least once or twice a month. But last two experiences were very unimpressive at best. Last month we ordered ribs to take home and my girlfriend and I agreed, never again. Not as good as we remembered them to be. Last night we were looking for a quick place to go and I suggested Adams Ribs. She said "I thought we weren't going to go there again?" and I answered "well you can just get soup and salad", so she agreed. I ordered the Bourbon Brisket Sandwich, which was overcooked, overly sweet, tasteless and dry. Cole slaw was excellent as always. the fries were "fries", but I was surprised that the server didn't ask me if "fries were ok as a side" because I would have chosen something else. Girfriend's Caesar salad was good as was the Maryland crab soup, but nothing that you couldn't get anywhere else. Sever came by to check on us a few minutes after our food arrived, and as I gathered my thoughts and began to tell her that I didn't like my sandwich, I looked up and she was gone!!! Obviously this was a routine question and she wasn't interested in my answer. then when I went to order another beer, to wash down my very dry sandwich, she was nowhere to be seen. Nothing worse than needing a beer "NOW" and not being able to order one. Girlfriend and I are now resolute in our decision to not come back here again. Too many other good options around and this Adams Ribs is mediocre at best

Went for lunch. The atmosphere is nice, interesting and clean. It was slow when we got there but patrons increased as we left. Even with the bit of bustle you were able to have conversation. The tvs are not loud nor are the lunch patrons. Service was thoughtful. The waitress brought the appetizer, which was a delicious spinach artichoke dip, and then came to check before having the sandwiches prepped to see if we were ready. So it was nicely paced. The dip was a chunky style not the puréed and over creamed style. Tasty. Had the pulled pork sandwich and brisket sandwich generous with the meat. Tender. Fries cooked perfectly. Good coleslaw. Good beer selection.

Now all they need are coupons, groupons or any other kind of of deal for us cheapo types.

Dave's out by the mall generally has better quality food, but who wants to go out there? The food is usually good, but the menu unfortunately has changed little in 20 years.Yes, you can hop in, get a decent pulled pork barbecue sandwich and a coke and get out the door for a little more than 10 dollars with tip. But order ribs and your wallet will start to hurt. They're good, but not $20 a rack good. The wine list is egregiously overpriced and boring. You'll usually get good service for carry out or dine-in, but the place has not been renovated since the dark ages. The best way to describe the atmosphere would be "dank" and "musty." Not dirty, really, but in need of an update. Looking for a quick weeknight bite with the prospect of fairly decent food and decent service? Not a bad bet, but with the aforementioned caveats. I would give it a 2.5 if the system allowed it.

I am giving it a 4 star rating because in balance over the years, I am more than happy with the food and service. Last night is a good example of how this little local hole in the wall can shine. The roasted corn soup was great (and perfect on a cold rainy winter evening) and the Chicken Chesapeake was as good as I have had at an upscale restaurant. Included with the $11 entree were 2 sides: I got a fluffy baked potato and a salad that was so big that with the soup I couldn't finish the chicken and potato (so now I have a nice lunch for today) To me that is quite a bargain and I left feeling fat and happy and so glad this gem is down the street. The chicken wings are the best I've had in town and I've done quite a search (I have yet to try Atlas which has the rep for the best, but all others have been woefully inferior) I have been told that the soups are made in house from scratch and they are consistently great (except the French Onion soup which is difficult to meet my standards) I wish they would add some of the menu items available at the Edgewater restaurant like Bourbon Salmon--they offer a citrus salsa version which I don't like nearly as much. And I also wish they would make rice a permanent side dish--their starches are limited to baked potato, sweet potato or french fries and when you go as often as I do, that is pretty limited. And their ribs are not as good as Red, Hot & Blue--but no ribs in Annapolis are truly what I would call great. Their's are good and when I occassionally have a rib craving, they are adequate enough that I am not inclined to go farther. The steamed shrimp, burgers, bourbon beef or pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, and french fries are all very good. And their crab cakes are surprisingly good. Their steaks range from sublime to grisley and I can't advise as to how to get the former rather than the latter--I can only say that most of them over the years have been very good at a very low cost. The staff are always friendly and I feel a bit like I am on the set of Cheers while I am there. Sometimes I eat at the bar and watch the sports events on the tv sets. In the winter, I always try to get a table near the cozy fireplace. It ain't the Ritz, just a darn good get down dirty place with good food at reasonable prices.

We are from Annapolis, ordered to go here for the first and last time last night. Shrimp was extremely salty, wings were old and tough, ribs were ok at best, and chicken was raw. You have a lot better options in annapolis.

We ordered take out, two full racks of ribs, baked beans, applesauce, and a baked sweet potato. The ribs were outstanding, the meat fell right off the bone, and they had just enough BBQ sauce on them - not so much that it overwhelms the taste of the meant. The sides were good, but the ribs were really a standout. I'll look forward to going back if I'm ever in the area again.

i have wanted to try this place for three years cus i thought the name was clever but the food was a huge disappointment. the ribs had no smoke flavor (hi ummm cooking ribs for along time is not BBQ ok?). also the prices on the menu out front were one dollar less than the prices inside. cheesy. i checked the box and will never go there again.
