My first time here was great. My mother and I came here for an early dinner last week. How amazing is it that they have a happy hour menu from 3-6pm?! The bartender was sweet. My mother told her we might have to cash out pretty quickly, as we had plans right after dinner. The bartender kept checking in to make sure we were all set with time. We split a bottle of wine, and a pizza. The pizza was amazing, with fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil. The crust was nice a crispy, and tasted like it came from a brick oven. Since I'll be moving to the area soon, I can't wait to try more things on the menu.

Arturo's is becoming a go-to restaurant for my family. The restaurant has enough ambiance for a special occasion, but the prices are also reasonable enough to venture there on a regular basis. The food and service have yet to disappoint.

Went there recently with the Mrs. Ate at the bar where the service was right on. Had a Caesar, "so-so" fried calamari, and excellent fruiti damare.

Hadn't been to Arturo's in a while, so I made reservations on a Friday night. Things didn't start out right, when the hostess wanted to seat us at the end table nearest the kitchen and bathroom. That spot is the worst/busiest table, so she ended up seating us a few tables over. Unfortunately, I've seen for a while that the service is hit or miss. I was surprised that our waitress was totally thrown off when my wife asked if she could do a chicken parm / eggplant parm combo. It seemed to be the first time someone had ever asked. Really? She came back to say the kitchen couldn't (='s wouldn't) split a chicken parm. So they'd add 2 splices of eggplant parm for $4. Sure - whatever. The chicken parm ended up to be much smaller than normal, but we let it go. I had my go-to dish of Pasta di Napoli. The seafood was good, but the pasta on top was dried out - like it sat under a heating lamp. Unfortunately, she forgot to place our salad order - later saying it was due to being sidetracked by the parm combo request. The tables are wayyy too close and the restaurant still needs some kind of noise reduction work done. Overall, it was a disappointing visit - but I hope this was a fluke experience. We still like Arturo's and will be back.

I went here for the first time last night and it was incredible! The service was awesome...very attentive staff! Bruschetta was great and the mushroom risotto was delicious. For dessert I had the espresso martini and without asking a dish of lemon sorbet was left for us. It was so great we are going again tonight for the pizza!

Love the pizzas! The whole family does. I enjoy Weds night happy hour w my GF too amazing martinis and inexpensive apps that are high quality! The meatball app and tomato mozzarella are my fave! They have takeout too, when the dining room is too packed.

Recently got a carryout order there, including a pan size Chicken piccata, a large Mista salad (has blue cheese and olives, my note to self), and a summer risotto to share. There was a little mix up with the communication and so when I arrived we waited a little longer than expected for the order to be ready. There is a small bar area at the front of the restaurant which is pleasant with friendly service. In terms of food, everything was solid, I personally like the Chicken Marsala better than the piccata. The risotto was okay, but I'd probably try another dish next time. Staff is always very nice when I call and when I'm at the restaurant. Nice local restaurant.

Arturo's Ristorante - Westborough, MA - 3/12/2015 It's a very busy family style Italian restaurant. An interesting decor consisting of a mix of booths and tables with an open kitchen design where you can see the chefs crafting tonights delicacies. I was seated at a booth. Truth be told, next time I would request a table as I don't find booths very comfortable... My server Alyshia was awesome although I did have to ask for bread... Slightly warm accompanied by olive oil and parmesan... The bread was OK... Once you have bread from Arthur Avenue in the Bronx it kinda sets the bar higher than most other restaurants can reach. I don't know if I have become a food snob but whats up with butter packets anyway? A small dish of whipped butter with a garnish is so simple and makes such a splash... This evenings Arturo signature zuppa was an Egg-drop soup with spinach and chicken sprinkled with parmesan cheese and just a hint of freshly ground black pepper. I would have never thought to make such a combination but it was really quite good. Almost like an Italian wedding soup in a way... They are extremely accommodating and indulged me with putting together a salad of mixed greens, peperoncini peppers, roasted red peppers, carrots and tomatoes. All this topped with gorgonzola and croutons bathed in a perfect house made olive oil vinaigrette! For the main tonight I figured I would break tradition from my traditional fare and go with the house made savory beef meatballs in a marinara sauce over spaghetti... Rich in flavour, well plated and ornately decorated with fresh basil. Their marinara is really something special and although they don't make the spaghetti in house, it was cooked to perfection! I was going to skip dessert until I heard Alyshia say something about a white and dark chocolate mousse... There are certain things in life one does not pass up... Finish it off with my signature cappuccino and another great dining experience was had. The restaurant appears very well run and everybody is happy. They all work together here and no one walks by your table without a smile or acknowledgment should you make eye contact between bites. I loved it and so will you! Make sure to ask to be seated in Alyshia's section...

After visiting Arturo's for the first time back in September 2014 I was sure we would never be back not because the food wasn't good but because of the service but very soon after I posted my review I was contacted by the owner who was very concerned about our experience. Several days had gone by and few exchanges were made and I decided to make another trip as the owner made me feel as though we mattered. This time we not only enjoyed the food we LOVED our service. The food was delicious as it was the first time! Our waiter was young but he really knew his stuff and made us feel as though we were the only party he was serving. Arturo's is quite a ways from us but we will certainly be back and ensure we visit anytime we are in the area. Thank you to the staff and owner for putting your customers and their experience first!!!!

Went back the other day... Did they change ownership or manager??? Barely any customers but super slow. Took them 20 minutes to bring us water. Another 20 minutes to take our orders. The worst part: The waitress gave us an attitude. Veal piccata ... One piece of meat was veal the other one was chicken.... Anyways. There are so many options, will not go back after this extremely poor experience. Let me know if things have improved!

This review is based on about 25 visits over the past 3 years. Overall my wife and I eat out probably 50 times/ year and tend to try a lot of places with more frequent visits to favored spots. If I could give partial stars I would give Arturo's a 4.9 but only b/c perfection is nearly impossible. My favorite in town restaurant and one of my all time favorites Food The owner Is the head chef and the food is really good. The pasta dishes are not super heavy and are what you would expect from a quality Italian restaurant. I usually get one of the specials. The tenderloin which is always offered as a special is always consistent and properly cooked with nice sides. The quality is equal to high end restaurants who only serve or focus on steaks. Great happy hour menus and apps are 6 bucks during HH. Pizzas are great as a shared app, meal or for takeout Service Truly spectacular. The 3 primary bartenders (where my wife and I usually eat) who work he busy shifts know the menu well and are pleasant and very attentive. I would rate this threesome off the chart 6 stars! When the dinner rush slows down the chef / owner often comes out into the restaurant to thank visitors ask how things are etc.... Decor / setting I am being a bit nick picky but the only non positive thing I can say is that from the curb you wouldn't look at the front of the restarant and guess how good it is. The restaraunt sits in an old strip mall. The recent makeover of the stoorfront has improved the look though. Once you walk in you see a very nice space, well decorated and and open style kitchen. Bar area is big with lots of high tops. May have to wait a few minutes for a bar spot on Fridays and Saturdays. There is a nice enclosed function room for beer and wine tasting and private functions

I had been so curious to try this restaurant after passing the highway signs many times, and it definitely delivered on my anticipation. Although located in a rather uninspiring strip mall, the interior of Arturo's is modern, clean and warm. Our waiter was simply the best, although a bit busy; he was friendly and approachable, easily exchanging conversation with us on each encounter. And the food? The food is excellent. I had an itch for piccata, and I was so happy with their version. My only complaint, and it is really nitpicking, is that the linguini was a little overdressed with olive oil, which. while not affecting the taste negatively, made it a bit challenging to eat. I highly recommend their marinara sauce! Forget the oil served with the bread, and ask for a small bowl of sauce instead. It is so flavorful and an absolute delight. I honestly cannot wait to revisit Arturo's. They do have brick-oven pizza, and it seems like they have a robust take-out service, so, if you live in the area, I think that would be an excellent option. A note on attire: We went on a Thursday night, post-work, and, while not a place with a dress code, most people seemed to be dressed in business or date attire with just one or two couples really "dressed down/casually".

Great food and staff. A pleasant surprise when just walking in off the street. I was there in a very busy night and ate at the bar. The lady and young man behind bar treated me well and everyone there seemed friendly. Highly recommend the squash stuffed tortellini. Great pre marathon face stuffing! I'd recommend to anyone.

I really enjoy Arturo's Ristorante. This is only ordered while I'm at work so I can only vouch for the lunch time view. We always call in our orders and pick them up. These guys are always great when ordering and picking up, always very pleasant. My boss is very picky about his salmon and they're always very accommodating. Prices are a bit higher but you're definitely getting the quality that you're paying for. I usually get the Rare Tuna Salad with no cheese and it's wonderful! The only time I had an issue was when I was given the wrong dressing and ended up having to drive back and pick up the correct dressing but when I got there they also provided me with a refund receipt for the salad, apologizing that they had made the mix up. Although we usually pick up, when I do I get to see the atmosphere inside and it's beautiful. Can get a little on the loud side when they're packed but the room seems to manage it well. Tables have adequate spacing so you're not listing to the table next to you the entire meal.

Had the anti pasta and it was a little disappointing the meat and cheese were subpar but the veggies were decent. The wine selection was good. I can't speak to the entrees but the place was crowded and most people seemed to be enjoying their experience.

We had a company dinner here and was treated very well by the wait staff. The food was excellent from start to finish. I have to say, this is the first time I've ever complimented a restaurant's salad so this was a great treat. In my mind, salad is just lettuce, greens and dressing. Arturo surprised me with the Mista. It's was the great combination of fresh ingredients and presentation the brought me over. The blue cheese crumbles and candied walnut complimented each other so well with the balsamic vinaigrette. For the main entree, I had ordered the special which was lobster risotto and jumbo shrimps with crab cake wrapped in shrimp center. Honestly, the shrimp and crab cake was the best part. The lobster risotto was ok but lacked the depth of flavor. Great experience and will definitely come again.

Upscale place with very good Italian Food. Nice atmosphere, but not very intimate if that is what you looking for. They have a function room you can reserve and close the doors for groups. Everything on the menu is very good.

I'm moving to the area and staying up the street. I'm gluten free and LOVE Italian food! They have a ton of option for me, I don't feel left out at all. There wine list was decent too (I'm moving from SoCal). Everything we have ordered has been super delicious. We came in on a Friday night and waited maybe 20 minutes without a reservation. All in all a pretty solid place for food, and our servers have been great too.

Went here with my family for dessert and had a very mixed experience. The waitresses seemed very mixed up about who was going to be serving us, and the one that did end up being our primary waitress was unhappy and unhelpful. We all asked for water without ice, and we all got water with ice. We asked to see the dessert tray, we didn't see it for almost 10 minutes when we reminded her (this was also at the very end of hte night, the restaurant wasn't busy anymore). Someone in my party asked if they could do an affogato and at first she didn't seem to have any idea what that was. When we explained it to her, she fairly rudely stated something along the lines of "well, you can do it yourself if you want." So that was the downside. On the other hand, all the desserts were wonderful (even the aforementioned affogato we made by ourselves). I've had better experiences here in the past so I hope this was a one off in terms of service, but I'm definitely a big enough fan of the food to give it 3 stars.

Was in the area for business and after checking reviews decided to try. Parking lot and restaurant were packed on a Tuesday night which is always a great sign. Sat at the bar for dinner and the bartender reviewed a long list of tasty sounding specials. I settled on two appetizers, mussels with sausage slices in spicy marinara sauce and a salad sampler with 3 different salads on one long plate. Both were excellent and the nice, conversational couple that sat down next to me ended up starting their meal with the same. Will definitely go back for more.

Went here with a Phantom Gourmet gift card which honestly is the only way I could have afforded the meals. We were seated within 20 minutes, at first we were going to leave because no one said anything to us. Right as we turned to leave the hostess finally showed. It wasn't very busy and we were the only ones waiting at the time but it still took 20 minutes to seat us. My girl got the margarita pizza and I got the spaghetti and meatball dish. Both were pretty good. Our waitress was kind and didn't give us any grief about the gift card. If I get another gift card I may go again.

I actually really love this place, mostly for their pasta! I love their bolognese, it's enough to get me to drive out to Westborough on the way home from work to pick up take out. What I did not love was that when I was ordering ice cream for take out the manager let it slip that their ice cream was from Trader Joe's! I paid $7 for a serving of ice cream that cost more than the pint I would have paid at TJs. Agh. So that was my major disappointment.

Our server was amazing. She was very helpful, had great suggestions on appetizers and had a great attitude. The only negative thing I could say is that I should have ordered the filet instead of the port tenderloin. My pork tenderloin wasn't bad, but I tried my friends filet and it was very good. I would recommend going here if you are in the area

Me and my boyfriend went here just for a casual date over the summer. We walk in and i already know it might not be an enjoyable time because the restaurant was so cold! Our waiter came over after we waited for about 5 minutes and told us the specials, i asked her if there was any way i could read them because she mumbled and talked fast, but she said no, so even though i thought i heard one sound good, i didnt order it because i have to read it before i can order it, its this weird habit i have. We finally decided what we wanted to eat, and that was a hassle. I told her i just wanted a salad with cucumbers and carrots and she goes "that's it, nothing else." I told her that was all i wanted and she told me that i was going to be hungry, and asked again if i wanted anything else. I then gave in and ordered grilled chicken on top, but she then said that i couldn't order that on my salad. My boyfriend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, he hated it, they tasted so awful, i tried some, YUCK! I had my salad and i had chicken on it, i told her before she left i wouldn't have it because she said i couldn't have it, i didn't pay for it, but i was just kind of peeved. I couldn't wait to get out of their!

Food was decent and they have a pretty good wine list. But, the real problem on this visit was the service. Pretty bad on many levels. And not what I would expect from such a place. My date and I finished the bottle of wine before our food came, and that has nothing to do with us drinking fast. It simply took forever. I suspect the waiter never put our order in. So, we bought a 2nd bottle since we still wanted to have wine with our meal. That of course pushed our spending on the meal to a higher level; which likely wouldn't have happened if our meal came out when it should have. A manager-type finally came to explain that because of the delay, the desserts would be on them. Pushing desert on a couple people that don't normally eat dessert wasn't a good way to fix this. We barely touched the 1 desert we received. I ordered asparagus as my side since it was one of the four options. When the meal was delivered by a "runner" (not our waiter), my date mentioned right away that it was supposed to be asparagus and not the green beans that were on the plate. The runner wanted to take my entire meal away, but I stopped him since I was so hungry by that point (we really waited a LONG time). I asked that they just bring a side of asparagus so I could at least start eating. He ran off to the kitchen and we didn't see any asparagus come. A little while later, the waiter swung by and asked if everything was alright. I explained that I never got the asparagus; this was the first he had heard there was an issue, and ran off to the kitchen. He came back soon after to tell me the kitchen had run out. Hmmm... I wonder if there would have been some asparagus if we had gotten our meal much early when we should have. Once our meal was cleared, the waiter asked us if we wanted dessert. We explained that we were told desserts were free; this was the first he heard this. The manager-type never communicated this to him, or so it seemed. My date and I settled on one to share, but he ran off before we could explain that we should also get one to go since it was promised. But, we were so over the bad service that we just wanted to get out of there. The food? Nothing worth all that hassle. Pretty pricey meal with lots of frustration and we got credited a dessert we barely ate. My first time there and likely my last.

After reading a whole bunch of reviews, we decided to give Arturo's a try. Tremendously glad we did. My husband and I had a delightful meal with very attentive service in a nice atmosphere. We started with cocktails which were very nice and promptly served. We shared the Insalata Caprese which had ripe tomatoes, creamy buffalo mozzarella, some very fresh greens and freshly ground pepper with just the right touch of EVOO and balsamic glaze. (Why is freshly ground pepper a non-existent item in so many restaurants lately?) It disappeared very quickly. I try to avoid gluten and our server was very helpful with this. I selected an entree that was not listed GF but asked if I could have the GF pasta with it. Of course, was the reply. I asked if the pasta was boiled in a separate pot from the wheat pasta and again she knew exactly why I was asking that question. She also asked if this was dietary or allergy. It is always nice when the kitchen has trained their staff so well. While it is a dietary choice for me, my daughter has a strong gluten intolerance. I would not worry about her eating here. Now for the good news, the GF penne pasta was wonderful. And believe me, I have had a lot of bad stuff. So, on to the entrees. I had the Pasta Napoli with the GF penne pasta. It had shrimp, scallops, crab pieces and lobster pieces in a light creamy tomato sauce with some finely chopped tomato pieces. The seafood was cooked well. (I have had some really over cooked shrimp at other restaurants lately.) I ate every bite. Delicious. My husband had the lobster special over what looked like kitchen made papperadelle pasta. It also had a light creamy tomato sauce. Lobster was perfectly cooked and he especially liked the pasta. Well, what can I say, after such a great meal and after I was mostly full, we just had to see the dessert tray. Our server immediately pointed out the two GF choices. Everything looked great but being a chocoholic, I got the chocolate mousse. Hubby got the salted caramel gelato. Again, we were not disappointed. The gelato was rich and creamy and dense. My mousse was very chocolatey with whipped cream and a chocolate flower piped on the top. Lovely little attentions to detail like this turn good food into grand food. We are definitely going back soon. I am only sorry it took us so long to finally go there.

I had the apricot glazed salmon for dinner. It was delicious. It was served with garlic mashed potatoes which were a little gummy. The service was fantastic. If you want to go on a Friday or Saturday night, I'd recommend making a reservation. We've been told there was a wait of over an hour in the past.

The staff, including the bartenders, kitchen, waitstaff are all great. Best bartender goes to Suzy! Mike is great too! We love to go here for the bar menu and enjoy a few drinks. Have Suzy make you an espresso martini! You will never be happy with one anywhere else. The hot garlic chips and calamari are great apps. All of the specials and everything on the menu is always delicious. Whether you want pizza, or a great pasta dish you can't go wrong. We Love this place!!!

We decided to celebrate our anniversary here on a Monday evening - big mistake. They ran out of their tasty focaccia bread at 6:30. Luckily, we arrived at 6:15, and had a small portion of it. I ordered the chicken marsala, and explained to our server that the previous time I had it it was too buttery and the sauce was watery. She stated that she also liked a thicker, robust marsala sauce too, and I should be happy with their version of this dish since they had made a few changes in the kitchen recently. She also said that she would express my concerns to the chef. My wife ordered the pumpkin tortellini dish. After finishing our caesar salad, which was fine, my dining experience nose dived. We waited 40 minutes for the entrees to arrive. Let me say that our server was absolutely fantastic, but I wish I could say the same for my chicken marsala. The chicken was salty, and the marsala sauce had no body, and not a hint of marsala wine. I complained to our server, and she returned with a bowl of additional bodiless sauce that at least tasted like it had marsala wine in it. I have had much better chicken marsala at Italian chain restaurants. My wife's dish, however, was very good and cooked exactly as requested.

Lunch today for a large party...15. EVERYONE at the table raved about their food. The bread was great served w/oil, Parmesan and flaked hot peppers. Service was very good and really was able to handle our large party. I had the steak sandwich Panini with boisin cheese and carmelised onions. One of the best steak sandwiches I've ever had. I highly recommend.

I guess I'm being a little unfair in that you could make the argument for three stars. Sill I felt the food was adequate but hardly much above average and considering you're paying North End prices well, I was expecting more. I had the Pasta Bolognese and my girl friend had the Shrimp Scampi. Both were certainly edible but neither was all that fantastic and at $18 for the Pasta and $21 for the Scampi, it's certainly no bargain. Also, my date's Kir Royale tasted like cough medicine. You have to make it with a sweet sparkling wine or you get that effect.

On my second trip here I am still a fan. The calamari was excellent and everything else was good. My only complaint is the price of dessert. $7 each for a piece of cheesecake and a tiny slice of carrot cake is a little crazy. Especially since they are not homemade and just average desserts. I will not order dessert there again but I will go back for the food. Come on Arturos you already make a killing off of alcoholic beverages give your customers a fair price for dessert.

An excellent dinner from a restaurant that honestly doesn't look like much from the outside. In fact, when we stepped inside I was surprised that the interior was so sleek, yet comfortable. Business dinner perfection. Service was spot-on from Tim, who flawlessly timed our meal like he was conducting an orchestra. Oil and parmesan was provided for soft bread upon arrival. Wine glasses were never empty for long. Soups and salads arrived just a short time after being ordered. And best yet - he knew the menu like the back of his hand, and provided advice with ease. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, mainly because the wording on the menu was "the most amazing, all-beef meatballs". I rarely see a restaurant use a word like AMAZING in their menu so it was a must-try. I have to say, it was pretty good, but the pasta out-shone the beef. I really also wanted to order the Pasta Avellino. A co-worker ordered it and I had a few bites, would absolutely order that next time. The asparagus, chicken, and pasta were all cooked perfectly, with a touch of smokey flavor from the mozzarella. The price was right too- only a few entrees exceeded the $20 mark. My only complaint was that it was very warm in the restaurant. I'm not sure if this was due to the open kitchen, but I felt the need to keep pulling my hair off my neck to cool down and felt a little sweaty as we stood up to leave the table- my co-workers felt the same way. Could have been a glitch tonight, but it's possible it's an ongoing issue. Since I travel in this area regularly for work, I'm sure I'll be back!

I had the boneless 8 oz filet special, and it is hands down the best steak I've ever had. BEST EVER. Also the pizza is delectable. I went to Arturo's with my family. Given that there is one carnivore (me), one vegetarian that doesn't eat soy or mushrooms, another vegetarian and, one omnivore that doesn't eat beef, the substitutions are endless. However, the service was AMAZING. Everyone was super cheerful, substitutions were made easily, and the food turned out great. I did take off one star b/c the calamari was just ok and there wasn't a great selection of wines by the glass. What a great find so far from Boston!

One of the best suburban/ Worcester area Italians, but would be just in the middle of the pack in Boston. We found the service to be extremely friendly and accommodating even on a busy Saturday night. Much of their business is repeat locals, based on the number of patrons that were kissed by waitresses upon arrival. A lot of families with kids. Their signature meatballs with marinara sauce can be ordered as an appetizer and are really good, but they do break up too easily suggesting more bread crumbs and egg than meat, but they are still delicious. Portions for everything are huge- like the chicken parm, which may have been made from a bird with the biggest breasts outside of Beverly Hills. The saucing on other dishes tends toward the heavy handed, so the recommendation is to go with the simpler ones. Maybe some, but certainly not all of the pasta is homemade- and the parmesan cheese is either from a package or has been pre-grated. Either way, it is a no-no for an authentic Italian restaurant. They have a nice, reasonably priced wine list with a lot of regional choices from Italy. Please note that they do not make their own desserts. They are too round or too square and even look like commercial- but they are pretty good nevertheless. The owner of Arturo's is not living off his laurels and does care, which is more than you can say for a lot of restaurants these days.

My girlfriend took me to Arturo's for my birthday. The waitress was wonderful and recommended the stuffed shrimp with lobster risotto. We each ordered that and crab cakes as an appetizer. We had a few problems early on. The crab cakes took a very long time to arrive. When they did they were cold and not very good. I was ready to leave before I could be disappointed further. I called over the waitress, asked for the check and explained why. She was wonderful. She got the manager to come over and between the two of them they were able to convince us to stay. A few minutes later our entree's arrived. The stuffed shrimp and risotto was simply amazing. That was the best thing I've eaten in months. Absolutely fantastic. I couldn't believe that I almost left before they served it. If we had skipped the appetizer this review would be a solid five stars. The waitstaff was wonderful and the entree was amazing. I'm looking forward to returning.

Went on a weeknite, busy but we were seated right away. Got the crab cakes and mussels for apps. Both were good, crab cakes on the small side. Got Fra Diavalo & seared tuna for entrees. Fra Diavoalo was good, but not much linguine. The seafood was good. My wife thought the dressing for the salad under the Tuna was too "peppery" and left about half of it on the plate. Good service, nice ambiance.

FIrst visit to Arturo's, the street appeal was not too good. Suprisingly the atmosphere and decor inside was very nice and inviting. The wait staff was excellent and attentive. The food was excellent and well prepared. Portions were very small for price. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and was given about 25 cents worth of lettuce. My husband ordered chicken alfredo with broccoli and got about 25 cents worth of pasta. Our two guests were happy with their meals which were off the specials menu. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and service and their gluten free menu, but for the price I think the portions should be a bit larger. Probably would not revisit.

Best meatballs ever!!! Service was excellent. Extremely attentive on all levels from the moment we walked into the door until we left. Everyone was very friendly. Wild mushroom raviolis were outstandly delicious!!! The bread basket was delicious as well. Best experience dining out!!! Will most certainly be coming back!!!

A large portion of mediocre food doesn't mean it's a very good restaurant. Both of our meals were decent, but no more than that, and the pasta was overcooked. In addition, the place is not inexpensive. If you go just up the street to the Chateau, you can get a meal that's just as good for half the price.

Best bar in MetroWest.... Sue and her crew are on top of their game...... especially with anything in a shaker --- ice skim on top of the martinis.... SO GOOD! Fresh backed bread is a plus but for regulars -- it's time to update the bar's happy-hour menu. What's on the menu is great but it's been the same forever!

Just had a terrific dinner celebrating my son's birthday. Our server Diane was attentive, and always available for our party of 6. We started with the calamari appetizer, and it was enough for all of us to sample. The Caesar salad was delicious, but I left a lot of the shaved cheese on the plate, there was too much. I had the veal saltimboca, and it was exquisite--lightly sautéed with a delicious sauce accompanied by mashed potato and green beans. Others had the veal or chicken parm and thought it was done well. Good portion sizes and the birthday boy got a free dessert. I'm a sucker for salted caramel, and when Diane mentioned that as gelato I was sold..,fantastic! The only downside was the noise level...made it difficult to hear beyond the person beside you. All in all a great experience!

Visited here a few weeks ago for a quick night out with my boyfriend. He had been before, but I hadn't. When we pulled up, I was skeptical- but I was pleasantly surprised by the interior! We were having an early dinner, right at 5:00- so the restaurant was empty except for a few people at the bar. Our server was prompt, but gave us time to look over the menu. We ended up getting a few glasses of wine, the mushroom raviolis and a chicken/olive/tomato dish- both dishes were fabulous! By the time we were leaving, the restaurant was packed with patrons. I will definitely be returning.

I've never once had a bad experience here, the food is delicious & the staff are always very pleasant and welcoming. They have one of the best chicken Parmesan meals I've ever had & their family style Togo meals are so great & cheap for those nights you don't feel like cooking!

We have only had the pizza here, but I have had almost every pizza they make. I think it might be the best pizza in town. Try the Zazza, which is topped with oil. The banana pepper pizza is very good, I like the meat they use on it.The basic margerita is also good. We have never been unhappy with them. As much as wanted to like Tavelino, Arturo's food is just better.

My co-worker took me here for lunch. I had the cannaloni which was tasty. The food was better than some Italian restaurants in LA, but not as good as the spots in the North End. The place was big, but it just didn't have the character like the North End, which is why I am only giving it 3 stars.

Had higher expectations. If I include the service (Amy was top notch) and the Tiramasu i would have added 1 star for Amy and 1/2 for the desert. We started with the caprese. The star should have been the "fresh" mozz...I found it grainy and not up to par with the fresh mozz I've had over the years...on the plus side the balsamic reduction was excellent but not enough to cover for the mozz. For entrees my wife had the lobster ravioli and I had the veal marsala. First the ravioli. The filling was delicious with a strong lobster flavor. The pasta surrounding was undercooked. There is a time for al dente and a time for soft. This was neither...very chewy which took away from a great filling and above average sauce. As for my veal marsala, where do I start. The veal was serviceable but not fork tender. The marsala sauce was bland and not enough to cover the over salted mashed potatoes. I come from the school that butter, bacon, cheese and salt make everything better but the potatoes were close to inedible. Grean beans were served on the side but were treated as an afterthought. Blanched and reheated. On the positive side, our server Amy knew the menu and specials like she created them. Attentive without being intrusive. I also got the Tiramasu to go because it is made on premise and I love it. After sampling, I have to say that it is an excellent rendition. If I lived closer, I could see myself going in just for the Tiramasu. Overall, we will not be back.

Not exactly awe inspiring. I went here for lunch with a large group. I was in a bit of a hurry to order so I got the caprese sandwich (always a safe bet, right?). I was asked if I wanted chips, fries, or a pasta salad. (just like in the old country). I went with the fries. I'm a sucker for fries. They brought out baskets of bread and poured olive oil in plates in front of each of us. The olive oil was either infused or mixed with something - maybe mixed with some melted butter and infused with garlic? Tasted pretty good, though it was strange to me. Bread was a sourdough and was OK but a bit heavy. Dishes came out pretty quickly. My sandwich had prosciutto in it. As a vegetarian this was annoying (apparently the menu calls out the prosciutto, so I can't complain too much here). It also used arugula instead of basil, was completely drenched in olive oil (same oil as was poured for the bread, I would have preferred plain EVOO), and was in a hot dog bun. These things weren't mentioned in the menu. Fries were thin scrawny things and had no flavor. I still ate them. I told you - I'm a sucker for fries. Service was fine, but by no means great. I guess the servers knew they had the automatic tip coming so they didn't need to bother with actually making us happy. All in all - a wonderfully mediocre experience. Probably about as good as you're going to do in Westborough, however.

I lived in the North End of Boston for years and was surrounded by the freshest and tastiest seafood and pasta that you can imagine. We moved to Hopkinton recently and tried this Italian ristorante for the first time back in October 2011.The service was excellent and we enjoyed getting to know our server. The wine list had our favorite red (montepulciano) which we recently did not find at a much more expensive steakhouse in Boston (Ruth & Chris'). We shared the calamari appetizer and ate the warm bread with olive oil. Dinner was excellent too. I had a seafood fra diavolo. It had great flavor and spicey sauce. Dinner was priced right, not Boston prices, but more than a chain restaurant... which was expected. Some of the reviewers are pretty harsh. This is now one of my favorites restaurants in the area. Go here or get take-out and try it for yourself.

When my wife said we were meeting her brother and his family at Arturo's I was skeptical at first. I had seen the outside of the building many times and my impression was not a good one. When I walked in the door I expected a dreary, diner-like atmosphere where fried chicken was the special of the day. How wrong I could not have been more wrong! The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated, maybe one of the nicest I have been to in the area. We all had different dishes; I had the Chicken Masala because Tim, our waiter, had recommended it. My meal was fantastic! The chicken was tender and the sauce was done to perfection. The garlic mashed potatoes and green beans were the perfect side dishes. Everyone at the table was commenting how good their meals was! I tried my wife's seafood pasta dish and it was delicious! Our waiter, Tim, gave us superior services without being intrusive. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and could answer every question posed to him. We had a 4 year old with us and Tim was very kind and patient with him. It was a Tuesday night and by the time we left, the place was packed! That should tell you everything you need to know about Arturo's! We didn't stay for dessert but we saw them go by. They looked amazing and I will be trying one on my next visit! Try Arturo's on your next dinner out and ask to sit at one of Tim's tables!

I was a little let down after a great Phantom Gourmet review of this place. The antipasto was decent but did not feel like it was worth the $12 price. I ordered the spaghetti and meat balls per Phantoms recommendation. The pasta was just so so. The meatballs were good but not the earth shattering experience both the menu and Phantom led me to believe. The sauce was pretty good but again not amazing. Service was slow due to what seemed like an over burdened staff. Overall I'd say Arturo's is decent and perhaps Phantom had built up my expectations a bit too much. I will give it one more try and sample their pizza but otherwise I wouldn't rush back.

So this review is just based on one visit. I may change it after going back again. My boyfriend and I came here on a thur night around 7pm. It was a bit crowded which I thought was a good sign. We waited about 10 min and received a booth(!) our waitress was flaky and seemed very distracted. She def had ADHD. When we ordered she was a lil over enthusiastic about our items, saying both were her "FAVs" we tried the calamari and the Toscana pizza. The calamari was okay, I've had better in RI. The pizza was also just okay. The red sauce didn't seem to go with the items on the pizza (artichokes, goat cheese, prosciutto). The pizza also seemed a bit small for the price. As far as going back, I'll order something different and change the waitress. If it's still just okay, I won't be returning.

Great food and customer service. Dom (chef/owner) does everything to make sure your visit is as good as it can be. The first course salad (speciality & always changing) is exceptional and a must have. Seafood is my favorite food group and I have never been disappointed. Last year they had a dish called lobster hash (full lobster with garnish atop fingerling potatoes) and can't say enough about it. Must visit.

Tucked unassumingly in a strip mall in Westboro is a gem of a Italian restaurant, with hearty portions, good service, and a pleasant ambiance. Arturo's robust menu is heavy on the traditional Italian classics: Veal/eggplant/chicken parm, pastas, steak, and frutta di mare, but there are also some unique daily specials featuring unusual combinations of food. For example, I had a tangy salad appetizer with goats cheese, kalamata olives, strawberries and almonds. The cocktails menu is compelling but the real treat is the food: Pasta served at the right temperature; lip-smacking scallops; crispy, flavorful eggplant parm; fresh veggies. Portion sizes are moderate for the price. Service is prompt, polite and attentive without being intrusive. On the whole, Arturo's is worth a visit... Or two... Or three...

This review is for their delicious take out. What do you do when 10 family members are coming by to see your new baby at dinnertime on a Monday night? Get take out!! What we ordered: Meatballs: Their original recipe! Savory 100% Angus all beef meatballs baked in our marinara sauce and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Chicken, Broccoli, and Penne pasta: sauteed in a garlic and white wine sauce Lasagna: Nonna's original recipe, layers of fresh pasta, tomato sauce, meat, and fresh ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese Eggplant Rollatini: Sauteed spinach, ricotta cheese, rolled into thinly sliced eggplant and topped with fresh tomato basil sauce. YUM! Focaccia bread The food was amazing. My family is filled with fussy eaters, no cheese this, no meat that...Ugh! There were dishes that satisfied the fussiest eaters in our family. The meatballs were clearly the favorite of the night...GONE! Everyone filled their plates and had seconds. There were lots of leftovers, the servings were huge. Too bad I was headed back to San Francisco, I would have taken some home with me too. Thanks Karla, Todd, and Gavin for hosting an amazing last minute dinner. Oh yeah, and thanks to Arturo's for doing all the cooking so we could all relax and visit with each other. A great night indeed...

I wish that I could rate this place 10 stars! The first time we dined at Arturo's, it was great! The second time was beyond great! We took our family members that were visiting from out of town to Arturo's to celebrate our daughter's first birthday. A hostess from Arturo's called to confirm the reservation and I mentioned that it was my daughter's 1st birthday. Shortly afterwards, someone called to find out if they could prepare something special for our little one--I was so impressed with their customer service! We ended up taking food for her but the fact that they cared enough to ask really meant a lot to me. The service was stellar, the food was amazing (seafood soup is a must---Delicious!). The owner dropped by our table to say hello and wish our baby a happy birthday. She was thrilled to see the brownie birthday dessert with the candle. Priceless memories! Thanks Arturo's for consistent great food and service. Keep up the good work! We will be back!

Went for a friends going away dinner. Very pricey place. I only got a greek salad because everything was expensive. It was good, but my bill still came out in the teens. Everything my friends ordered looked great though. If your looking to have a nice formal dinner with friends or family and don't mind spending the extra money, I recommend this restaurant. Great for an italian meal.

Best Italian restaurant west of Boston! My mother used to rave about this place when it was in Worcester. One day while passing through westboro we decided to stop in for a late lunch. The atmosphere was gorgeous. We were brought into a more private dining room off the main dining area. Our orders were taken right away and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. My mother order chicken Marsala which she LOVED every bite was like the first. I had ziti tossed with fresh summer veggies in a lite sauce. It was delicious. I will always go back to Arturo's.

It's a very popular place ussally averaging a half hour wait. The food was good all fresh and very tasty. The wait staff was okay. the atmosphere left something to be desired what is slightly loud but not bad it just has to go with the popularity of the restaurant.

Having read some of the previous reviews I was a little nervous about going to Arturo's. Happily, my concerns were quickly dispelled. This is a solid restaurant run by nice people offering excellent service. We were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed their appetizers, entrees, and deserts. I'd go back here anytime. I'd even go back here just to hang at the bar, which looked very inviting. The only reason I can fathom for some of the negativity in other reviews is that perhaps the reviewers were expecting a luxe experience a la the North End's Prezza, Mama Maria, or Bricco. As long as one keeps in mind that this is Westborough, one should be quite satisfied with Arturo's

My review may be influenced by two things: 1) I was really looking for hole in the wall type of Italian, like Guido's in Walpole. I got the look for that with the strip mall facade, but once inside it looked more like an Olive Garden or a Bertuccis. 2) In reviewing my Yelp graph of reviews, I realize that I'm just too kind with mostly four star ratings and a few threes. That said, I think my reviews generally come in fairly high because we check almost everywhere on yelp before dining there. A few positives for this restaurant: they were very thoughtful with regard to my wife's allergies. She is allergic to a specific type of oil, and they worked very hard to eliminate any dishes that even might have it in the ingredients. The kids gave a big thumbs up to the bendaroos that they included in the kids packet -- they hadn't seen those at a restaurant before and it helped keep them occupied after a long day in the car. As for the food, everything was pretty average, so we will be sure to seek out other Italian in the area before making a return trip. I had the meat lovers pizza and really didn't love it. The crust didn't taste very good to me and I wasn't in favor of the mix of meats. My son took the boring route, going with the chicken fingers. My daughter had chicken and brocolli, and even though it wasn't on the kids' menu, they accomodated by giving her a lunch portion. My wife's chicken picatta was pretty plain. In summary, though the staff was helpful and accomodating, there just wasn't anything about the food that will have us hustling back.

Tried this one last weekend, I am big foodie and am very picky about where and what I eat, great food, great service, had the seafood special with peppered fettucini, hubby had veal parm, if I could have licked the plate I would have, owner came over to check on our meal and service, all around great experience, we will be back again and again,

For Italian food, its amazingly well prepared. The Chef, Tomasso, is among the most talented Italian chefs in the business. The portions are huge, and the specials are such a unique blend of ingredients you have to try at least one. You especially cant skip out on the mista salads, I crave these when I'm away from home. Plus they have a brick oven right out front and the antipasto table is always a regular favorite. I personally know the deserts are amazing, and are even better if they have homemade specials. You might even get a visit from Arturo himself, hes always there. Its clean, appetizing and beautifully decorated. Plus the service is always great ;)

Very good italian food. The waitstaff was very kind and knowledgeable both the times i've been there. not a fan of the location, but if you do live out in the boonies, i'm sure it's fine. I work in the area, so that's why i happen to go here occasionally. I agree with George - it's a family oriented ambiance. I feel like this is a place where a young couple could take their children for dinner while also experiencing a romantic atmosphere. If I lived in the area, this is one of the better "date spots". Tasty food - not too heavy either.

I could not give this establishment 4 stars. Every time I noted a positive, it was then canceled out with a negative. The place was dimly lit except for the kitchen which showed the restaurants confidence. However, during our meal, I began to notice the "cheapness" of th place. It looked as though the place used to be an Asian restaurant and that it was just taken over (the place apparently has been there for 27+ years). The window panes, the tables, chairs, booths & glass all seemed incredibly outdated & second-hand. The "banquette room" looked as though it used to serve as a place for karaoke. Overall, the design of the place was awkward for an italian establishment. The Service- I looked around the room & noticed most of the waiters were older & based off of ours, they were experienced. Without being asked she added a raspberry sauce on the ordered flourless chocolate cake which was enjoyed. It was evident that she knew her way around the kitchen & was familiar with presentation. The Appetizers- The bread & olive oil was satisfying but the appetizers that we ordered weren't exciting. The antipasto dish could have been better if it wasn't redicoulusly drenched in vinaigrette. It was as if they were trying to hide the fact that their product wasn't as fresh as they claimed it to be. The baked meatballs themselves were on par but the sauce was actually better than the norm. The Entrees- The dishes looked as if they were displayed, with a semi-conscience, with the exception of the frutti de mare. I thought its presentation was excellent with the muscles shell-to-shell & facing the sky, orbiting the shrimp calamari & scallops. As for the grilled salmon my sister had, the meat was dry & the vinaigrette sitting at the bottom. It was as though they accidentally added it before placing any solids in the bowl. As for my Chicken Picatta, they made the white wine based sauce much too sour. I had to separate the rest of my meal from the sauce before it became edible. I was wondering why this place was getting 4 & 5 stars (I checked out this place on yelp beforehand) and so I looked around while seated & noticed the demographic. Then I also remembered the website's thanks for raising money for a cause. I realized either the owner or the manager knew how to work the local community. I'm tipping my hat to them from a business aspect.

Ate here with two business associates and I was just stunned by how good our meals were. I had the halibut special and it could not have been better prepared. It was side with brocolli rabe and a rice pilaf with cranberries and almonds. One of my guests had the lobster pappardelle and it looked superb, my third gues thoroughly enjoyed his 14 rib eye although the cut was rather thin looking to me. Great wine list, excellent food and first rate service.

A couple of words jumped out at me from other reviews, consistency and price/value. I have been going to Arturos since it was in Worcester so it is consistently good enough to bring me back. I did find the prices a bit high for what we got, however this could be due the fact that at present, I am not working where in the past I always was. So, I suppose I won't harp on the value proposition. For an appetizer we had the mussels and they were wonderful. They were cooked perfectly and had a light broth with a perfect amount of spice. I do, however, wish that they would at least serve 2 pieces of the fantastic grilled bread with them. I had the tenderloin special. It was served hot and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The mushroom sauce on it was just enough and not overwhelming at all. The grilled asparagus was really good as well. My problem with the entree was that the pan fried Yukon Gold potatoes were the most boring thing I have ever eaten. They were neither seasoned nor crispy, if they had been one or the other it would have been good, as is I left them all on the plate but one. The other entree, the lobster ravioli, had no such problems. The lovely little pillows were perfectly cooked. The stuffing had plenty of lobster and shrimp and was slightly spicy without being distracting. the sauce was very tasty and for a cream sauce, which I am typically not a fan of, wasn't very heavy. For dessert we had the turtle cheese cake. Not being a dessert guy all I can really say it tasted very good. The service was friendly, professional and prompt. Overall it was a good experience and would be worth a trip back.

To start, we USED to frequent Arturo's quite a bit, sit at the bar, and enjoy a good meal. The food is delicious here and I would've given it 4 stars if I was just rating that. Sitting at the bar is where the problem is, the 2 bartenders (which will go unnamed), are not able to handle the orders of the bar patrons, nevermind the whole restaurant. Therefore service is SUPER slow, unless you're one of their favorites (which they have many and apparently I'm not included in that elite group), then you wait over 10 minutes for a drink order to be taken or to get a refill. One of the bartenders means well and, overall, is fine. The other bartender, well, she was so rude in front of me and never even looked at us the last time we were in. Like I said, we've been in MANY times, as in, we are on a first name basis, and she wouldn't even look at us. Then she made such an insulting comment to someone near me, obviously about me and the person I was with, so we finished our drinks and left. We will NEVER sit at the bar again. We've given them many opportunities and each time, they failed and this last time was completely unforgiveable. Like I said, the food is great so it's really unfortunate that the bartenders are so awful. It takes A LOT for me to write a negative review, actually I've only ever done it one other time in my life. So if you go to Arturo's, sit in the restaurant area, NOT at the bar.

Good, but I wasn't blown away. I might have given it more stars but for two things: 1. Price/Value. The meals are good, but too expensive for the quantity & quality. I wouldn't mind spending $15 for some of the plates they're charging $20-$22 for. I wasn't incredibly hungry, but finished my 'smallish' plate without left-overs. Other places that I'm used to would normally have given me MUCH more pasta for the price I paid. 2. Kids' juice is outrageously priced! My 5-year old got 2 cups of Apple Juice, and we were charged $7 ($3.50/KID'S CUP). I asked the waitress if that was correct, and she confirmed it was. Wow... not impressed. The waitstaff WAS very good, and the parking is very convenient. The antipasto and bread were very good, too. But at this point, this place is a no-return for us.

Consistency, to me, counts for pretty much everything within a restaurant. Arturo's is consistent, across the board; service, atmosphere (regularly updated, recently painted interior), clean - beyond most establishments, and the food is just outstanding. M favorite dish is a failry simple ravioli on a pink sauce with italian sausage. Wine list is great, with reds served slightly below room temperature. Lunch or dinner - get there! They do a surprising amount of take-out, with people coming and going - always smiling.

Simply Stated: Arturo's is excellent. When it comes to italian food, I'm picky. My family started out (in this country) in the North End of Boston, just a mile away from where I live now, and I still eat there frequently. Imagine my surprise when I stumble across Arturo's after a business meeting in Westborough. I sat at the bar and got a perfect Caprese panini that was so big I only finished half and brought the other half home for later. The bartender was friendly and the new owner sat down and talked with me for a little while. Everyone was very friendly. Had such a great time there that I ended up coming back with my girlfriend for dinner a few days later. Bruschetta was excellent, and they nailed the veal saltimbocca and chicken marsala. I'd recommend them all. p.s. it turns out that this place is now under new ownership (i met the new owner when I had lunch). My guess is that the one star review from February was a result of the transition, before the new management took over.

My wife and i have been to Arturo's twice. the service is very good and the menu covers the bases very well: vegetarian, fish, chicken, red meat. They have a full bar but I found the mix drinks to be inconsistent, but it is not a deal breaker for me. The pasta is fresh and the portions are generous. It can be noisy on a busy night but they have a big following because the food is prepared well. It is also a good choice for a business lunch. I would definitely go back.

Probably only worth it if you go during happy hour (weekdays 4-6). I didn't. I brought my girlfriend here for a nice meal since it seemed to be getting some good reviews on yelp. People said it was north end quality but in Marlborough. I don't want to sound overly negative but this was not the case at all. The decorations are tacky, the booth seats feel like a doctor's office and the food is overpriced for its quality. We started off with a "house special" appetizer: the seared raw tuna. I was surprised to see it on the menu and because I'm a bit of a raw fish nut, I ordered it. It didn't have much flavor save for the mountains of olive-tasting relish-like substance it was served with. The plate looked like a mess and the flavors did not work together. Next was the lobster shrimp ravioli which was actually delicious. The portion was generous and the sauce was creamy without being too heavy. My only real gripe with this dish is that when they topped it with Parmesan cheese, it wasn't the kind that they grate right there in front of you. Instead, in was the powdered kind you get from a Kraft container. That's pretty ridiculous for a meal that cost over $80 (2 glasses of wine and tip included) In short: strange food pairings on the menu and overpriced for both atmosphere and quality. From a nonresident of Marlborough it is not recommended but if you're stuck with it at least get the lobster ravioli.

This was the first time I went to this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. From the service to the food, it was surely not worth the money. The server acted as if she was looking to get fired and did not seem to care that we were there. I needed to ASK for bread (which happened to be the only thing good) since she was not volunteering to bring it on her own. The Food was terrible as well. My wife go the Canelloni and it tasted like something partially reheated and not fresh. I got the pizza and it was loaded with terrible cheese and little of the extra toppings. How do you ruin brick oven pizza.... they did. The waitress never asked how the food was nor did she ask for drink refills. Then at $58 for the meal, WAY OVER PRICED. We would have been better off at the diner down the street. We live in the area and will never waste our money there.

Unfortunately, Arturo's was extremely disappointing. We had a reservation and were seated at one of the tables near the kitchen despite the fact that several booths were open (and stayed that way). We waited 10 minutes before the waitress acknowledged us. She delivered olive oil, for bread that arrived more than five minutes after the olive oil. The entrees were ok, but didn't make up for the sub-stellar service. Lots of other little things, but the take home message is that I probably won't be back...

Yah know, I keep trying to love this place and it just doesn't love me back. It's OK, some times dishes are delicious, other times thay are just ok. Bottom line, not too bad but definitely overpriced for what you get.

After watching the Phantom Gourmet, the other day, I got sucked in by the photography. They can come as close to polishing a turd, as possible. Fortunately this time, it was a great choice! I went there recently with my NOT girlfriend. The parking lot was full. Which to me is a good sign. Especially considering it was a wednesday night. We got a booth right away. Our server, Tonia, was quick to help us. Not too quick, just right. We started off with the Antipasto for two. I usually don't order antipasto, but it looked so good on the Phantom. And it was. I may be forgetting something, but, it had asparagus, mushrooms, eggplant, peppers, artichoke hearts & various meats. The vegetables were marinated just right. I truly enjoyed it. My NOT girlfriend was amazed that I ate most of it, because, normally I din't do vegetables. After receiving the appetizer, we both ordered the veal parmigiana. It showed up promptly just after we had finished the antipasto. I ordered mine with penne with garlic butter, instead of red sauce. When it showed up, mine had red sauce on the pasta. I don't like sending food back, with the fear of receiving food back with phlegm in it. I mentioned it to Tonia, and before I could say anything else, she whisked it away. She came back shortly with it just as I had ordered it. My fears were moot. It was awesome. The veal was cooked just right. It could be cut with a fork. A very generous portion too. It was so good, even though I knew that I had enough to eat about 3/4 of the way through, I kept going until it was all done. And even after overeating, I didn't feel bloated. Because we had so much to eat, we passed on dessert. Tonia did infor us that they make their own tiramisu. I have been meaning to go to this place for years. Especially since I used to work in Westborough. Check it out!

Decided to go out for an un-planned Valentine's Day dinner with a best friend, and chose Arturo's...or rather hoped we could get into Arturo's for dinner last night since we didn't have a reservation! We arrived just before 7pm...informed the host we didn't have a reservation but were willing to wait as we knew it was a busy night...he was so friendly and managed to squeeze us in within only a few minutes wait. Our dinners were great, my friend's risotto was cooked perfectly (yes, I tried!) and my grilled salmon salad hit the spot. Great service and overall ambiance....very glad we decided to take the chance...had a nice night.

I loved Arturos when the original Arturo was there and since the transition I still think its a great restaurant...the new management is very food aware...knows good food from his diverse experince...makes his tiramisu on premise...for that matter he makes everything on premise... I hate chains as they buy everything premade and microwave or boil a bag of veges... so this resraurant has great staff in the front of the house...they have been workin at it for years and are top shelf...the bar tender Susan is a gem... The food ...NEVR EVER HAD A BAD MEAL THERE...Dominick the new owner cares about service and delivering great fresh italian food..old standbys to nouveau italian... One sure judge is the regulars are there week in and week out...becuase the service is great and the food is great... think fresh, well prepared ,traditional, seasonal ITALIAN at its best!

This is my local Italian fix. We live about 1.4 miles from Arturo's. We have been eating here or ordering take out here at least twice a month for the last six years, we never tire of the food because everything is fresh and they change things up on a seasonal basis. The cuisine is Abruzzese (da Abruzzo ragazzi), which is under represented in the American Italian food scene. They have a brick oven and they prepare authentic Italian style pizza, not NY, not Greek, not Papa Gino's etc but real Italian style which most American pizza lovers do not know and usually they don't "get it" either. I lived in Abruzzo so I love this pizza. My kids have learned to love a true Pizza Margherita, even more than American style cheese pizza. Unlike some "purest" pizza places they let you build your own too. In Italy you take what's on the menu and that's it. NO substitutions. They have some unique pizze too like " Manzo di Filidelphia" which is Beef tenderloin, roasted peppers, caramelized onions and mozzarella. Basta about the pizze, what I really like Arturo's for is that they have blended the traditional fare nicely with their version of New American. Two of the strong suits here are Steak and Seafood, of course these are prepared with the Arturo's flare. On the beef side I have had the traditional Florentine cut and Chateau Brion here both were killer. For fish one of my favorites was a Stuffed Tuna Steak alla Puttenesca. They have the best Vongole (sometimes razor clams, seasonal) linguine I have had in MA. In the pasta category you can't beat their Penne all'Arrabiata. I have tried at least a half dozen different risottos here and never been disappointed. The have a deli case from which they sell both sweet and savory delights. My absolute favorite savory item is the Arancini Di Riso (rice balls) two of these is a meal. The cakes and tortes will please any sweets lover, but be warned these are also in the Italian style and may be too sweet for American tastes. Finally Arturo's has built a respectable wine list and they sponsor wine dinners. You can even take cooking lessons with Chef Tomasso! So, why not 5 stars? I lived in Italy...I have not eaten in an Italian restaurant in America that can attain a 5 star rating after eating the real deal in several regions of Italy. This is partly why I keep putting my Asian tour off.

I love this place. Mostly for the creative choices you get in the specials, the chef obviously knows what he's doing. Lunch or dinner its great italian. They have an excellent selection of hot panini for lunch or try a pizza (they always have some interesting combo special). The dinner specials are fantastic, once I had a dry pork loin but even that was surprisingly tasty. Its the kind of place that you can go and really fill yourself up if you want or just have some really taste lighter fare. Its a smallish place but we frequently bring groups of 6 or more there and have no problem sitting even without a reservation. The atmosphere is nice, tastefully decorated with a nice bar up front. Not too loud but not stuffy and quiet either.

Wow what a great time... I'm usually okay but my girlfirend is fussy... She loved it... I got the swordfish steak... It was about 3 inches thick, cooked perfect throughout and moist... now that's a dish that is hard to get right... the lady had chicken marsala and then finished the left overs the next day for lunch... perfect... I tried a cosmo, had a grey goose and tonic and then desert and topped it all off with an espresso... I'll definitely be back...

Good not great. Maybe it was a bad night. We will try them again. We tried Arturo's on some friends recommendations. The atmosphere of the bar was nice, the dinning room felt....weird..I can't put my finger on it. I expected it to be a little nicer, warmer atmosphere. The calamari was really good, cooked perfectly, but I thought the portion was a little small. The mista salad and cheese tortellini with chicken was really good. I got the osso bucco with risotto. The risotto wasn't cooked. I was so disappointed. I've sent back meals probably twice in my life and reluctantly I sent this back. A very nice gentleman came over to our table and said they would cook it longer but that they usually cook it al dente which sounded like an excuse to me. This was NOT al dente, it was crunchy which means not cooked. I'm a bit surprised they didn't just say 'sorry your right it's under cooked'. They returned the meal to me, it still wasn't cooked right but it was better. The veal itself was good but not worth the $. I may not be a trained chef but I make risotto on a regular basis (my grandmother's recipe) and know it's not supposed to be crunchy. We will try Arturo's again but I think I'll stay away from the risotto.

Excellent Italian food in a true neighbourhood restaurant. Refined home-cooked style meals, generous portions, friendly and attentive staff (they remember who you are and what you like). Impressive wine and beer menus. Family-oriented ambiance.

Decor is warm and welcoming, service friendly, menu varied, and after a couple of visits I can say that the food is pretty good. You can't go wrong sampling their menu at the happy hour (4-6PM) prices of $5.00 per bar menu item - including pizza, coconut shrimp, a yummy tower of grilled veges and more (and if you prefer not sitting at the bar, there are comfy tables nearby).

I previously have enjoyed my experience at Arturo's but after ordering from their Gluten Free menu, I am severely let down. They didn't have a Gluten Free roll for me or Gluten Free crutons for my salad. Yes, these items do exist in the world. They only offered penne style gluten free pasta.Boring! There are other types of GF pasta to purchase. The cook apparently did not know (or care) that gluten free pasta typically must be cooked LONGER than wheat based pasta. It was tough and undercooked. My "garlic wine sauce" was not a sauce at all. It was like water. Apparently, the cook doesn't know that most supermarkets carry gluten free flour & powdered starch that would be used to make a sauce. I tasted no garlic. In fact, the meal was dry and tasteless. They sent me an email touting their "new gluten free menu". It was really their gluten free afterthought. Aweful. I don't ever want to go back there.

As locals, we've dined here numerous times. Always consistent. Fine food and reasonable cost for the quality! We don't have to travel far for great Italian!

My co-worker took me here for lunch. I had the cannaloni which was tasty. The food was better than some Italian restaurants in LA, but not as good as the spots in the North End. The place was big, but it just didn't have the character like the North End, which is why I am only giving it 3 stars.

Arturo's is the best! Their lobster ravioli is the best I've ever had....better than high end restaurants in the city or on the Cape. I had my rehearsal dinner here last year and it couldn't have been more perfect....everyone was raving about it! The waiter from our dinner still recognizes my husband and I when we come in, and gave us free desserts one of the times. It has such a comfortable, cozy feeling. My all-time favorite restaurant!

Best Italian restaurant west of Boston! Food is what you expect from an authentic Italian restaurant. Good wine menu and full bar. Lunch specials are decently priced too

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
