I order catering for my office from Jake's at least twice a month. The food is delicious- everyone loves it (and I work with some very choosy eaters)! The delivery is always on time, and the food is always hot and looks great when it arrives. Jake is also very friendly, and always works to accommodate last-minute requests and changes.

Jake's is AMAZING. It's an easy lunch and super convenient. When I used to work in Newton I would always try to get lunch here. The food: amazing. You will never regret anything you get here. The falafel is amazing. And you can also buy some to bring home which is always a great idea. The owner will most likely be there. He is amazing. Super friendly he will always try to make sure that you get exactly what you want. He goes out of his way to be the best and kindest person ever. (Which is hard to find nowadays) Make sure to get a dessert to go.

Food was good. The beef and lamb didn't have any odors and wasn't dry. Pretty tasty. Both yellow rice and tomato rice has good flavors. The food was filling but not heavy and didn't make me groggy. I liked the taste a lot because it tastes more natural than filled with preservatives. I would definitely come back. The owner is pretty nice guy. He was concerned with what I thought about the food.

Really like this place for a quick lunch spot. The owner is super nice. The place has decent seating in the back. I've tried the chicken kebab and charbroiled chicken kebab wraps. I enjoyed both. The chicken is trimmed well for fat, so you don't get any tendons or chewy bits. That is usually a sign that the chef takes care in preparing the chicken. I hear the Falafel is great, but I've yet to try it. The best part is that I leave here feeling healthy, and know I haven't downed fried food. Perfect spot for me, and close to home.

I need to reiterate. Jakes is the best falafel in Boston. And Jake is a great person. And everyday I don't go to Jake's is a waste of precious time.

Yum! So hard to find quick healthy food. Had the chicken kabob plate with salad and tabouli. So delicious. Everything homemade in house. Highly recommend

Perfect falafel! Great food. This place is truly wonderful. The food is fresh, quick and delicious. It's reasonably priced and I plan to return again and again. Great find!

Stumbled upon this place - was on Yelp looking for a place to have a late lunch in Newton on a Sunday....we had a chicken kabob with couscous, eggplant, veggies, humus and rice. OMGosh, thee best I've had in a long time...fresh, seasoned perfectly and fresh - did I say fresh? We spoke to Jake (super nice) and learned he makes his own humus (awesome), and all of his salads. Most places add so much salt - this was seasoned so perfectly and fresh....cannot emphasize that enough. DON'T HESITATE - it is thee best (casual) middle eastern cuisine I've had in recent/far out memory. Yum....so glad we found this place! Great for take-out and casual for dine-in.

The first time I tried to visit Jake's Falafel Corner, it was closed for vacation. Bummer, but c'es le vie! I finally made it successfully there one Sunday afternoon, which was great for me since street parking is free then. Although it would seem that their grounds has parking available, most of those spots are claimed by specific neighboring businesses, so I didn't want to risk a ticket. Several parties had already filled much of the front dining space by the entrance. We placed our order at the counter, found ourselves a seat at one of the 4 tables set along the hall towards the back dining space (where there is also a ladies' room available) and waited for our lunch to be delivered to us. White meat chicken is what they hawk here and that is what we had in the Charbroiled Chicken Plate $9.99 listed under Jake's Delights on the menu. It comes served with one of the exotic rices, salad, tahini & pita. I inquired and was told that their exotic rice choices by order of popularity were sweet, tomato & onion, lentil & raisin, cherry. So sweet it was! I found the rice on the slightly wet/mushy side, but still, I enjoyed the pleasantly sweet taste with my moist enough chicken. Salad was salad, but there two dual pieces of each type of pickle laid out nicely on top. We also tried their falafel (the fellow at the counter seemed awfully proud of it) in the form a roll up with hummus (I figure that meant that we ended up with Jake's Famous (Falafel [Chickpeas, herbs and Persian spices ground and cooked into golden spheres ] & Hummus) $7.99, which per our special request they kindly sliced in half for us. My DC was quite taken by their falafel. I found them to be more highly seasoned than any I have had thus far. New Hours! According to a sign posted on their door, they are now closed Saturdays. Mon - Thu: 11:00 to 8:30 Friday: 11:00 to 6:00 Saturday: Closed Sunday: 12:00 to 7:00 *** 4/2014 take-out *** I ordered their Hummus & Grilled Vegetables Roll Up $6.99 and Beef & Lamb Shawarma roll up $8.99 to go. While I found the grilled onions and red and green bell peppers to be juicy, and both wraps stuffed generously with the named ingredients alongside fresh leafy greens, shredded carrots, sliced tomatoes and pickles, I came to the realization that perhaps wraps were not the ideal choice for take-out. The pita became slightly sodden and broke apart in places. Instead, I suggest ordering the wraps for eating in, and a plate for take-out.

The beef falafel and chicken shashlik was really delicious! Although the falafel had fats more than meat which was not appreciated. Overall, except the meat part really good stuff!

I wish I could give it 4.5 stars but I can't, so I'll round up to 5. I gotta give props to Jake's - every time I'm here, the falafel gets better. For one, it's actually warm. The easiest way of telling that falafel isn't fresh is when it's at room temperature. The texture is perfect (nice and soft), the vegetables are fresh, and I'm left feeling pretty damn satisfied. They also carry some Israeli staples that I'm always happy to see, like Prigat juices and Bamba. The pitas/wraps are still mehhh, but honestly, outside of Rami's I haven't been able to find good pita in the area. Also, they get super messy towards the bottom. But besides that, I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised every time I come back.

Stopped here on a Sunday while visiting Newton for a wedding. The falafel was amazing - perfectly fried, with lots of wonderful tahini and hummus on the wrap. The pita was fresh and hot, too. The babaganoush was all right (not as smoky/rich as I like). It's a great place to stop for a quick, tasty lunch!

Jake's falafel corner is OK at best. Having grown up in Israel with middle eastern food by Israelis, Syrians, Jordanians, Lebanese, and everyone else, i know 'a thing or two' about falafel and Shwarma. Jake's falafel is usually alright- although sometimes slightly over burned. Chickpeas cost nothing- its easy to deep-fry a new batch if you messed up the first time. The curly fries are A+. The hummus is a bit sour. The rice is on point. The back of the restaurant has a weird and awkward atmosphere. Spending $2000 to renovate the back into a middle eastern aroma would change the whole vibe. The most frustrating thing about Jake's is the small portion of Shwarma in the sandwiches. Hopefully this review will lead to a couple of changes. Definitely would recommend to try it out none-the less.

I have tried many times to order the Rouletta Gousht, to no avail. I was told long ago that whatever spice is used to make it is very difficult to get. Well today was my lucky day! They had it! I feared that with all the built up anticipation, I might be let down. Not a chance. Holy cow, it was DELICIOUS! It would seem my biggest let down will be another day when it is not on the menu, but until then, I will enjoy it!

A nice family-owned business that treats you like a treasured guest and gives you good, basic middle-eastern food for good prices. A bit hard to find but worth the time to look for. Casual vibe, good customers, and great staff.

I first met Jake a few years back when he had a little stand inside sandwich works. It started with a sample he was giving out of one of his felafel and I fell in love. Since then he opened up a place on the side off of Union St. I go there frequently for lunch and I still maintain he has the best felafel ever. He also makes amazing green drinks that are delicious and nutritious. For consistently good middle eastern food and healthy drinks I recommend Jakes. Recently I ordered a few platters for an event I hosted and the food was great the portions generous. The grape leaves humous and baba were out of this world.

Oh my god it was so freaking cold, but I had finished up a meeting in Newton around 5:30 and I couldn't bear to get right on the highway and fight with traffic. So I took myself over to Jake's to try it out. Neat little place. There are a few tables up front and a big cozy-looking room in back where I'm pretty sure I saw a fire going. I asked the guy behind the counter what to get. I think he eventually gave me the turkey shwarma platter, which included a generous helping of smooth and tangy homemade hummus, three super-crunchy and fluffy falafels, a salad, and hunk of soft pita bread. For this I paid about ten bucks. The guy behind the counter (Jake?) brought my food to me, I defrosted and enjoyed being inside rather than sitting in traffic. He checked on me after a while and we chatted briefly. Nice spot. I think that next time I'll get more falafel, that stuff was pretty great.

I've been to Jake's five or six times. Each time I'm impressed by the couple who own and operate the business. These are hardworking people!! Jake makes THE best falafel - end of story. I love the Spanish rice (red rice?) too. I ordered a few 'party platters' for a party and got a lot of comments on how yummy the food was... I'm a lifer.

Amazing food and friendly staff.. I have tried several falafel places in the brighton/newton area now, and jake's stands out. Fresh ingredients - amazing falafel. Try the fiery falafel if you want to be adventurous.. Nice babaganoush as well.

I was in the area for business and was looking for falafel to eat in Yelp. So, i thought to give it a try. I didnt realize that they were close on sunday! So i gave it a try again for lunch, it was actually a decent place. It was affordable and delicious. I will most certainly be back when I'm back in the area again.

Great falafel and condiments. Good atmosphere. Shwarma was very flavorful but was a bit dry/hard on the edges. But it is charming and yummy. It is exactly the kind of place that we need more of. So go eat there and support it!!

Good falafel, pity about iceberg lettuce & American pita I bike past Jake's every day on my commute. Today I finally had the chance to stop in. I had no idea there was so much seating inside! I was promptly greeted and Jake took my family's order. He asked us to find a table and told us someone would bring the order to the table. The restaurant was clean with a good lunch crowd for a Sunday. The noise level was OK. The seating area in the rear of the store was very attractive indeed. The restaurant is handicapped accessible, though one of the three bathrooms has a step to enter. Some of tables did need to be wiped down from previous parties, however. The bathrooms were clean. The falafel was fried to order, it isn't sitting around waiting to be reheated. The latter being a big no-no for any fried food. Our food arrived in a very reasonable amount of time. We had a falafel & hummous plate, a spicy falafel roll up, and curly french fries. The portions were very generous. The falafel was hot and crispy on the outside. They had lots of flavor with a healthy chickpea to stuffing ratio. The fillings were mostly excellent, pickles, carrots, a very nice hot sauce with a kick, and tahini sauce. The only downside was the use of iceberg lettuce and very thin American pita that lost integrity in the middle of the meal. It's a testament to the quality of the falafel and fillings that despite those short comings I really enjoyed the falafel wrap. My preference is for thicker Israeli type pita and shredded cabbage in my falafel. The falafel plate was similar, though not constructed into a sandwich. The hummous was alright, though I prefer a more creamy style of hummous. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the falafel plates. The fries were pipping hot and delivered with a bottle of ketchup. Jake checked back on the table to make sure we were satisfied. Bear in mind we were sitting in the back of the store well away from the counter. I liked his attention to his customers. I really enjoyed it, would visit again, and would recommend it to my friends.

Very excited to have found this place, after my friend raving and raging about it I finally tried it. Both the turkey, and the beef & lamb shwarma were REALLY awesome! Everything REALLY, REALLY was. The hummus, the Israeli salad, really good pickles too:) Service was very friendly and fast. I cant wait to go back... actually thinking of getting it for dinner tonight:)

Love this place! Jake the person and Jake the cuisine are both great. I always order Jake's special (falafel and hummus in pita, tonight with spicy hummus -- wow!). It is delicious, healthy and satisfying. (Tip: Order the spicy hummus only if you are serious about your spicy food, this is hot stuff!) Someday I'm going to try other things on the menu but probably not any time soon -- I love this item too much! My only regret with Jake's is that I always make such a mess. I hope he's still able to turn a profit with the number of napkins I use! Thanks, Jake.

I absolutely love Jake's! They are so friendly and you never have to wait long for your order. I always get the Persian platter and it's so good I haven't tried anything else yet. The grape leaves are by far the best I've ever had as are the falafel. I've been there with friends who have had the beef and lamb platters which they have said are also delicious. I highly recommend jake's I have nothing but good things to say about them!

We ordered platters from Jake's for New Year's and the food was AMAZING and incredibly affordable. While everything was absolutely delicious, I have to say the baba and falafel were spectacular. In addition, Jake was really flexible about making a couple of changes and the food was hot and ready for pick up on time. We will definitely cater with Jake's again.

Delicious falafel! Crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The wraps are large, easily enough for one large meal or two smaller meals. There are several vegetarian options, and the hummus was a little bit lemony and super delicious. Prices were kind of high for the veg options, and the place seems really bare-bones inside, but the food is great.

  • Danielle T.

Love this place! Totally underrated. It's not really noticeable when you drive by, a hidden gem. Atmosphere of a takeout place, but delicious food with a smile. Jake tries to get to know his customers which makes bringing him my business even more enjoyable. The fiery falafel is delicious, but I wasn't thrilled with the sweet grape leaves.

  • Annie W.

nicely situated close to samadhi integral and fun to hop into after long workshops with breaks. the falafel is delicious, with fresh veggies, homemade pita, a generous array of sides (just ask, and jake can suggest and put together something for you). there's an (electric?) fireplace and huge eating area in back. prices are gentle. persian soup is a good-sized portion, tasty and filling. jake's also does fresh juices (carrot and variations) and fresh juice blends for $3-5. good stuff!

Great food! The owner pays particular attention to customer needs and is a very engaging person. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

Easily the best falafel I've had in Massachusetts. And the owner is very nice and friendly. I had the falafel with babaganoush wrap. My wife had falafel with hummus. The wraps come in a large pita, and are generously filled with veggies. Most falafels are kind of dry and bland, but Jake's are moist and well seasoned. They have a whole menu of shwarmas and kababs also, which I haven't tried yet, but they look good on the grill!

  • Michael E.

This place is great. Jake is very friendly and helpful. I had the Falafel and Hummus wrap and it was one of the best meals I had ever eaten. That could be because I had just finished a 5 mile walk, or because he has the best falafels in the state. The place is a little hard to find (the yelp directions place you on the wrong side of the building.) Great food, great price, give this place a shot, you will not be disappointed.

  • Tim K.

I can't say enough good things about Jake's. He makes an absolutely killer falafel (try the fiery falafel). The ingredients are always fresh and the staff is always super friendly. Jake himself is the man. Super nice guy who takes real pride in the food he serves, which is probably why it tastes so damn good! He's always got a smile on his face, and is always chatting with his guests. They do have seating inside, and they'll bring your food over to your table, even though there's no wait staff. Jake's hummus is the best I've ever had, period (and I eat a lot of hummus). I go and grab a large to-go every week to put on my sandwiches for lunch. The place is a bit tough to find, right behing Tartufo, but well worth the effort. They also have a function room in the back, if you want to have a get-together with amazing food. Good luck in the new location, Jake!

I love this place! It's clean and welcoming, and staff is always very friendly. I feel like they really value their customers. I've had a few of their "roll-ups" and everything is delicious with great prices and portions. The food seems very authentic and I like looking at all of the packaged imported food items for sale as I'm waiting for my food - they have a great selection of interesting snacks and beverages that I've never heard of before.

This is one of the best spot for authentic Falafel. The place is clean and welcoming, and staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is prepared fresh and delicious, portions are good and prices are fair. Cannot go wrong with great food. Try it out and be the judge for yourself!!!

First time here. There still on beacon street. New location I think. I ordered shwarma. Very good. Also ordered falafel spiced, also very good. My lovely companion (wife) ordered chicken. Perfectly made shish cabob. Prices are very low. I'm not kosher but they are. I'll be back. Oh, parking is easy. Rsk

Run, don't walk. The owner is insanely nice and this is: Really. Good. Food. I had the beef shishlik wrap. Asked for falafel and hot sauce. Great taste, good portion size. Lots of fresh veggies. Located in a spot that's easy to miss. Seek it out if you like Middle Eastern food.

Jake's is FANTASTIC!! The best falafel i have had since coming back from the Middle East. I had the Jake's Special, and it sure was something special! I plan on making Jake's my some-what daily lunch spot. My suggestion, ask Jake to put some fries on your wrap, incredible! I found Jake's on Yelp!

Jakes has become a go-to spot for me because he puts out amazing food for a good price. Jake is always there with a great sense of humor and makes sure his customers get great service. I keep trying different items on his menu and they're all good. My favorite has been the grilled chicken & falafel wrap with his spicy sauce - unreal stuff. Great food, good prices, friendly staff, great restaurant... can't say enough good things about it so just go try it for yourself. You'll be happy you did. Keep up the great work Jake. See you this week.

By far the best falafel place in New England. This is the taste of falafel in the Middle East. Specifically if you like the israel /Lebanon taste. If you like schug (the Yemenite spicy) they have it. The special falafel is amazing. The salads are fresh and delicious.

I love Jake's Falafel Corner!! My favorite meal is the falafel and chicken roll-up, and everything that I've tried has been great. Jake and his staff are kind, friendly, and thoughtful, and the service is quick. I also liked the fresh-squeezed orange juice. The food is delicious, healthy, and cheap! Highly recommended

Their falafel IS really good. The restaurant itself is hard to find and access and has little parking. Other than the falafel, the other food is ho-hum.

Have been coming to Jakes since he was a tiny add-on in the Sandwitch Works down the street. Now he's expanded to his own place, and I'm proud because he is a terrific guy, hardworking guy. It's pretty simple here... Everything is homemade, authentic by Jake. He's hands on and right there to greet you. That's how you know it's good. Just takes love and care for your business. I get the falafel everytime. It's what a falafel should be. Simple ingredients done right. I could eat it everyday. Specifically his falafel is crispy on the outside but creamy and soft in the center. It's accompanied by fresh lettuce, tomato and finely julienned carrots with a nice helping of tahini. Get it with his hot sauce... Perfection. Jake if your reading this... The Chimney guys say hi and thanks!

Great falafel and humus here in the suburbs. No need to go to Rami's in Brookline. Jake the owner is almost always there, showing that he cares. The food is fresh and authentic. For a light meal that is different from the usual sandwich, Jake's is great.

I didn't even know Jake's had re-opened a while ago! Where's the marketing buddy ??? I heard from my coworker that she saw the sign today and we drove from Wellesley to eat here the very same day !!! Because I've been waiting for your grand opening for months!!! Anyways, I messed up though, I ordered the Hummus wrap and expected Falafel, I thought everything was an option below the Basic Falafel wrap =/ Guess I'll have to return as soon as possible. Oh and btw the Hummus wrap is good too, very flavorful but eat it quick because it'll ruin the wrap after bringing it back to the office.

A+! My husband and I tried this place earlier tonight. Jake was friendly, funny, and helpful with our menu selections. I had a hummus wrap, which was a decent size and filled with fresh vegetables, creamy hummus, and perfectly flavored tahini. My husband enjoyed a falafel platter. He noted the moist consistency of falafel, which is a welcome change from the typically dry falafel he gets in and around Boston. We split a side of spicy hummus, which was well worth it. We can't wait to return!

4 stars for food. 3 for ambiance. Until ambiance is fixed, three stars. I had the beef and lamb shwarma plate and my dad had the falafel, hummus, and tabouli plate, both of which were definitely very good, though not mind-blowing. The portions were a fair size for the price as well. Fortunately, the problems are all things that can be fixed (except for parking, but that's a different story). The line/ordering system is a little discombobulated and should be reorganized to allow for more space and time for comprehension. Also, it was very hot in there and there was horrendous pop music blaring at such a loud volume that eventually we had to move and go to the backroom. Also, the hours are a little strange (closed on Saturdays, open til only 7 on Sundays) Overall, if you're looking for Middle Eastern and are in Newton, it's definitely a good find and a welcome addition to Newton Center.

Highly underrated, Jake's is a Middle Eastern restaurant supreme! You can tell that a restaurant is of high quality when the owner is active. Jake is the owner and main mover and shaker of his business...in other words he makes everything happen. One can find Jake at his restaurant 6 days a week, with an amiable smile and an explanation of every dish he sells, from the ingredients within to the different cultures that have worked to influence his food. He offers homemade falafel, hummus, tahini, baba ganoush, shwarma--off the spit, (either chicken, turkey, or beef). Couscous, grape leaves, and all kinds of quiches also appear on his menu. Typically, when I go, I get Israeli salad, hummus with fresh mint, a side of red onion cups to scoop up the hummus, and in addition fresh pita. His falafel sandwiches are outstanding. He will customize this sandwich any way you'd like. For instance, one could order shwarma and falafel together. If you can believe it, he makes his very own hot sauce. This is a blend of various herbs and peppers which give it a pleasantly spicy and savory taste. FIVE STARS

Great Value! I thought the Falafel was delicious. It's also a very generous portion for the price. Not the typical half moon pita, but rather a full lafa wrap. Jake has some interesting varieties that I have not seen before, like the Buffalo Falafel. The staff is friendly and courteous. Seems like a family run business. If you're in the BC area, its definitely worth a visit.

Best Thanksgivukkah ever, thanks to Jake! Mediterranean platter was beautiful and everything was DELICIOUS. Best falafel by far, all agreed. Tabouli to die for (Danny's favorite...had more at 1 AM). Hummus perfect texture and flavor. Grape leaves perfect!!! So moist and flavorful! Chicken amazingly tender and addictive. Generous portions! We ordered last minute, then asked to pick it up early: done, with a smile!! Even the pita is super fresh and fluffy. A treasure in Newton Centre. Can't wait to eat in the pretty restaurant, next time.

You can't go wrong with Jakes Special. It's a Falafel and hummus roll up. I get mine with everything. the Falafel is moist on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. The wraps are huge and the prices are low. Plus, the people working the counter are super nice. I haven't found a single joint in the Boston area that comes close!

Fabulous rice dishes at great prices. I recommend starting with the sweet orange rice. I had it with a chicken kabob and it was super tasty--and arguably healthy with the fresh side salad it was served with. As other reviewers have noted, Jake is a super friendly guy. If ordering in, he serves you your meal at your table and has you pay afterwards, though Sandwich Works itself has no table service. I've eaten here several times and have never gone wrong. It can be hard to find parking in Newton Center and the police are almost as vigilant as in Brookline, so be sure to bring quarters for the meters! BTW, he had a sign out today saying that they're moving locations to elsewhere in Newton. If he ends up in better digs, I'll most likely be upgrading my rating to 5 stars :-)

Falafel that's actually fresh, soft, and hot! If you're in the newton center and crave authentic middle eastern food, Jake's Falafal Corner is a great place to pick up simple but good tasking falafel served on a pita rollup with shredded carrots, lettuce and pickles.

Tiny little place I would never usually go to, but a friend suggested we go and it was incredible. Delicious falafel wraps at cheap prices - big fan!

I'm absolutely in love with Jake's Falafel Corner. Jake is amazing! The stuff grape leaves are delicious along with his falafel wraps. He makes the most wonderful platters for entertaining, too.

Although it may be sacrilege for me to say this, Jake's shawarma is absolutely the best I have had (Sorry, Rami's in Brookline). They were out of the lamb & beef today, but the courteous manager/owner there gave a generous sample of the turkey shawarma to sway me from ordering a salad. While it is normally the rule that huge portions mitigate mediocre food, I was pleased to learn that huge portions can also mean great quality. The sauces were fine and the veggies were fresh. Perfect balance of flavors throughout the pita. Do not sleep on this place.

Went in the other day for the first time. Delicious falafel. Not sure if Jake was the one to help me, but whoever did was awesome. Very friendly. Will become a regular spot for me!

Very good place for falafel. I started going ot Jake's when he shared space in the sandwich shop. As a vegetarian, I've only had the falafel. I especially like the fiery falafel; there's hot sauce right in the falafel balls. And as other have said, Jake is very extremely nice. He's always been there when I've gone in. I can only wish him the best with his business.

Great falafel and quick friendly service. After trying several other area places it was nice to find a true falafel shop.

Just ordered the turkey shawarma and falafel wrap, and OH MY GOD is this good. I've had some of the best shawarma in the country, and this is is way, way up there.

I was introduced to Jake's by a friend who was new to working in Newton, but had already eaten there. As the first reviewer noted, it's to the side of the Sandwich Works ordering counter, but Jake has since upgraded his prep equipment a little. We placed our orders and chatted about business and that first Yelp! review and how much business appears to be coming in from it (Ells, Jake wants to say thanks. Go in and let him know who you are!). We paid, grabbed drinks, sat down and in short order Jake appeared at our table with falafel rollups that were pretty darn close to perfect. Excellent balance of flavors, just enough dressing and hummus (the other was baba ganouche), and more than enough food for a lunch. Jake offers a really wide range of meals, I am really looking forward to my next visit to Newton Center!

The only thing better than the food at Jake's is the hospitality. Jake is a real mensch and will make sure that you leave happy and full. Everything we tried was good: from falafel to shwarma to kebab to hummus to rice. Perhaps most importantly, the baklava was outstanding. Enjoy :-)

Jake's is simply the BEST falafel in the Boston area! I've eaten falafel all over town and basically resigned myself to only eating falafel when I was in Israel because of the poor choices...until Jake's. His falafel and accompaniments are truly authentic. He also makes delicious Persian dishes like his chicken and rice items. I love the tomato rice with his grilled chicken. I've ordered it many times and it's always perfect. Jake is a really nice person who cares about his customers' satisfaction. His ingredients are always fresh and the highest quality. He goes the extra mile and it's worth it. My family and I look forward to Jake's nights!

Weeell,I am not sure how to express to what extent I like Jake's food, really ! I come from London and sometimes miss diapazon of food from there, this little corner in the Sendwich works bring back the taste of Londons best Persian places I have eaten over the years. All that for a fraction of the price that you pay for a deacent meal and I meen meal ! I own and run Fulham Salon few shops down from Jake's ,and my entire team is hooked on his food. We will make sure that our clients get to know about it. Bon Apettite !!!

Everything I've tried from Jake's is amazing but he has the best falafel, hands down. He's also a super nice guy! And his food is FRESH!!! So yum!

Jake's Falafel is great little middle eastern spot. I haven't been there since he moved down the street, so I can't speak to the physical location, but the food is excellent. The falafel is probably the best I've had in the US. It's tasty and big and has a wonderful texture. Jake himself is also an incredibly nice and accommodating guy. Ask him to make any small change to your order and he will happily fulfill your request. I would definitely recommend this place!

Great new restaurant. So happy to see them out on their own.Falafel is terrific but jake will make it any way you want. New dishes every time that I go in. What a great take on comfort food.... GO JAKE.

This Falafel will take you back to Kikar Hatulim in Jerusalem! and those who haven't been - this is the closest you can get, food-wise. Made fresh before your eyes (and nose) and tastes so good you'd think it's bad for you. but no! health-conscious ingredients and techniques for you, heath-nuts. I came in for a snack and ended up with a take-away bag - yeah, when the menu says "plate" - it's a meal. Tried falafel, hummus and tahini - all wonderfully flavorful and light. Going back to explore the rest of the menu. So do come and check out Jake's - it will be a start of a beautiful... addiction :)

I went looking for Jake's Falafel Corner, and driving by I would not have found it. I parked, walked around until I saw their sign - in the window of a different Sandwich shop! Don't let that deter you! Find it. It IS where they say it is, even if it's not obvious. Turns out Jake's Falafel Corner is quite literally in a corner next to the main counter, with a metal cart to order over. I ordered Jake's Persian Platter which has Baba, Houmus, Falafel (x4), Grape Leaves (optional veggie or meat) (x3), salad and tabouli, with tahini and a large piece of Pita. $9.99 It was enough to feed two people, at least, and every bit of it was good. I'm a falafel freak and ever since Al Khoura in Norwood closed up shop I've been looking for a good place to grab a middle-eastern lunch. I found it at Jake's Falafel Corner. We took out. The tables seemed mostly taken, even though there are a fair number of them. I think I got lucky. There is parking behind the curved plaza building, and I found a spot. There is also public parking just across the street, so there's no real panic when it comes to parking, even to just take out. So I'm recommending Jake's to anyone who loves the middle-eastern standards mentioned above. I'll try more things later, and amend my review as appropriate.

Jake's is the BEST! Stop in and get the Falafel. It's the best I've had in Boston by far, and he's the nicest guy! Prices are reasonable, the environment is friendly, and all in all I can't say enough good things about the place. A definite must!

I need to start this review off by saying how great Jake is. The first time my friend and I came to Jake's, we weren't sure which falafel we wanted. Jake kindly made us one of the Fiery falafel and one regular falafel to try for free so we could decide which to get. Both were amazing, but my friend and I, liking things a bit on the spicy side, decided to go with the fiery falafel. Boy is it delicious. Moist, flavorful, and just the right kick of spice. The lentil soup is also one of our favorites. And the juices - wow the fresh juices are delishhhh! We just love this place, and Jake's charm makes it ever so irresistible to keep returning for more!

Fantastic food. Especially loved the baba and Jakes special hot sauce. But be advised his "corner" is inside Sandwich Works. Also Jake himself seems a super courteous, fantastic guy.

Jake's serves very good falafel and other middle east fare. The food is always fantastic and so is the service. They have great group platters, which are an excellent alternative to pizza or roast beef, for your meetings. I love the falafel balls and tabouli, I'm not a huge fan of the spinach pie. I have dined in and taken out.

It tastes and smells like the food I grew up with in Israel. I'm so glad to see this addition to the center. I'm looking forward to shawarma coming soon.

I've been coming to Sandwich Works for years, and finally ventured out of my cranberry chicken salad comfort zone to try Jake's. I'm glad I did - it's fantastic. Definitely the most flavorful falafel in the area, and the hot sauce added a serious kick to the wrap I ordered. Fresh veggies, great pita and tahini, no complaints at all - plus it was only six bucks, he fried the falafel to order, and it only took about 5 minutes . Let's hope he sticks around for a while! I imagine I'll be eating there a lot.

I have my mail box in Newton Center right next door to Sandwich Works. I was pleasantly surprised when I found Jake's stand nestled in the corner recently. I had the chicken kabob my first time and was very happy with my meal. But this time I ordered the falafel roll-up (with all the vegies, humus, and spicy sauce) and was absolutely blown away. In fact, my wife made me give her part of the roll up she was so jealous. I also overhead that Jake is staying open until 7:00 now to satisfy the dinner crowd. I hope that means he's doing well, as I can see this becoming a regular stop for me when I pick up my mail.

Ok I'm not big on writing reviews so here i go. I some times work in Newton Center and when I do I have lunch at Sandwich Works. I love the fact that their family run. And some of their deli is from local farmers. So I always wanted to try a falafel but I didn't even know what they were. And after reading the Sandwich works menu i notice a small hand written paper saying " Due to the overwhelming demand at Jakes we have extended it's hours". So after look at his menu I notice that their were some kind of awards and autographs on them, I went to Jake and ask him some question about what it was, and after he explains he asks me, "you want one" and I say yes and he says "how do you want it" not knowing what's best i say "what you think is best" so after waiting for few min he hands me the falafel and says "You'll be back" I reply "you promise" the he replays " its the best in New England, you will" and I hate to admit it but, I'm going back but their but their hours make it hard.
