Came here on a whim and probably should have thought through the fact that they'd be swamped with people picking up orders for Passover... So yes, it took a bit longer to order and l to pay at the end, but im sure if I came back in a week or so they'd be a bit less hectic. This place is excellent! Israeli and Jewish American food all the way, you can get everything from falafel to stuffed cabbage. I sat down with a cup of coffee (equal exchange) and a plate of spicy Shakshuka. The eggs were perfect, just runny enough, the spices worked well with the tomato base as nothing overpowered the other, excellent flavor all around. The whole wheat pita bread that came with it was light and fluffy, unlike the pita bread you get most everywhere else which was a welcomed change. I'll be back for more

Best french toast of my life!! I have nooo idea what they do to these slices of bread, I felt like I was eating fluffy clouds! The shakshuka was also a great breakfast dish here. It's served on a sizzling pan and it was too hot to eat even after waiting 5 minutes. Good things come to those who wait! I know they're famed for their chicken matzo ball soup. It was tasty, but not much to rave about. Get the french toast!

I'm torn as to how many stars to give Inna's. If I could give 3 1/2 stars, I would. I went here after reading reviews about the gluten-free french toast. Since I've been on my gluten-free/dairy-free diet, french toast is one thing I've craved. They made me GF/DF french toast and it was only $10; I was expecting to pay more. That was nice :) I wasn't in love with the french toast though. I like mine pretty saturated, the batter soaked through, but it didn't come out like that. I tried drowning it in syrup but it didn't help much. The middle was better than the outsides; the outsides were kind of hard :( it came with a nice little side of fruit though which helped with the taste. This was my first GF/DF French toast though so maybe this is what I should expect...? I'm not sure. It's hard since I have nothing to compare it to other than "regular" french toast. So, maybe I should try other items here, and bring G to try some items? I'm sure their food is great like others have said. They definitely care about what they do, wanting to produce the best food possible and doing everything they can to please their customers. Very friendly and pleasant people, Not a cozy atmosphere but the excellent service helped to make it a bit more cozy. May try it again with my husband, if we happen to be in the area. -J

Awesome food, and friendly service -- one can really not go wrong with this combination! I loved the buckwheat blintzes, although for me the portion just was not filling enough and a bit pricey ($10) considering, but us gluten-free folks are sadly used to paying inflated prices. The iced coffee - complete with coffee ice cubes - was one of the best I've had. I asked if they had soy milk, they didn't - but happily offered my coconut milk instead. And the fresh squeezed orange juice was also incredibly good. I also grabbed a few things to go, including the beet salad - everything was first class. If you cannot eat gluten, I *highly* recommend this place. My dining buddy also greatly enjoyed his bagel with lox, so there's something for everyone here.

We went to the stand at the Boston Public Market yesterday. First, we were given a taste of the falafel which was excellent- nicely crispy and tasty. We decided to get some knishes and loved them! The dough was a light and flaky delicious pastry. We have to go back for some falafel and shwarma! Like being on Ben Yehuda street and Coney Island at the same time.

Inna's is truly a gem, with homemade Jewish food done right. And gluten-free eaters or celiacs, rejoice! Essentially everything is substitutable, and there's a separate, gluten-free cooking area. The falafel plates are tasty with homemade hummus and warm pita, or gluten-free challah. Sandwiches, too, are easily customizable on the spot. I can't believe I'm about to use this adjective, since usually gluten-free is dry and lifeless, but here it goes: the gluten-free challah and bread is AMAZING. Seriously, Inna's does everything right. Not best for groups, since there are only a few two-person tables. Take-out is speedy and fresh. Staff is welcoming and friendly, in a way that's hard to match at lunch chains.

What a truly great find! I was in the middle of doing a detox where I was unable to eat any gluten or dairy so it was very hard to find places to eat out. I found Inna's through Yelp and I can see why they have such terrific reviews. It is such a tiny place with maybe 7 tables at most, it has such a warm welcoming environment and the staff is just so kind. Everything is made to order and the staff will ask you about any dietary requests once you place your order. I ordered the falafal and shawarma combo- it was so delicious! Just the right portion size and made with fresh ingredients. My boyfriend ordered the hot pastrami sandwich and enjoyed it as well. He also got the arabic coffee - he is Lebanese and said that it tastes authentic (just like his mother makes). I will definitely be heading back in the future!

Had breakfast this morning with my sister. Casual dining but very customer focused. And the food is great! We had the latkes with eggs on top. Fantastic. Only regret is we didn't get the larger serving. Next we had the cheese blintzes. Super yummy. The only regret is I live in Arizona and can't eat here more often. We did get the chicken matzo ball soup, turkey cabbage and chicken pot pie to go for a meal at home. Great way to enjoy the food at your own place. This is a great restaurant tucked away from the busy Newton center. You can't go wrong to stop for dining or take out.

Looking for a gluten free and dairy free restaurant to take my special needs son is what led me to Inna's. The good food and the kindness of the staff towards my son is what keeps us coming back!

Very impressed by this little gem! The server was extraordinarily friendly, he gave us free humantashens after our meal! The food was on point as well. I had a shakshukka that reminded me of the shakshukka I used to have in Israel! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the sauce had a nice kick along with onions and peppers. My friend ordered the challah french toast, which was suh a delight! The classic bagel and lox was also above-par. I would highly recommend visiting this low priced restaurant, it may be one you will find yourself going too very often!

For a while I held a grudge against Inna's Kitchen, largely because they now hold the spot formerly occupied by Thai Thai, my absolute favorite restaurant in Newton and a place that even five years after its closing, I have not quite learned to let go. I also dropped by at Inna's very soon after they opened when all they were serving was sandwiches and was largely underwhelmed. But seeing the reviews here made me want to reevaluate, especially since I have to take into consideration that it was hardly fair to judge based on their first weeks of business. The concept is nice, especially since it's rare to see somewhere serving Jewish cuisine that encompasses both Ashkenazi and Sephardi food. Obviously it's not going to be on par with delis in New York, but they are running a much smaller operation here, and I do think the above makes them more unique than their counterparts. I came in for a late lunch about half an hour before they closed, but they still served me very graciously, which I really appreciated. I took a few items from the deli case, which they also warmed up for me since I was eating them there. I decided on the noodle kugel (I mean, who could ever resist that?), spinach and feta knish and quinoa tabbouleh. The kugel was definitely the highlight - I mean, I have never had a bad noodle kugel, but this was seriously delicious. I especially liked the oats and cinnamon on top, which were a really nice touch. The tabbouleh was also a great choice for a salad, and an original spin on a Middle Eastern classic. They also have nice choices for beverages including both San Pellegrinos and Dr. Brown's sodas - truly the best of both worlds. I'm really curious about their breakfast options and they claim to serve Israeli pitas, which I definitely have to try before I believe it. I do wish they were open later, but for what it is, it's a really nice lunch option. I still miss Thai Thai (and it doesn't help that their interior is nearly identical, minus a few Thai symbols), but I think I can at least let go of the grudge.

How do you do it, Inna? How do you make gluten free challah rolls that are so delicious? Oh man. This place is SO good. The sandwiches are fresh, with mouthwatering house made sides such as coleslaw and potato salad to choose from. I can't have some of the soups due to gluten, but my husband said the matzo soup was terrific. We love Inna's kitchen! TIP: The place is really quite small on the inside. It is great for take out at lunch or dinner time..just call ahead!

  • Justin S.

Had the Matzo ball soup and the pastrami sandwich on white rye. Both were good. Pastrami was lean and well spiced. I typically don't like spicy mustard but this mustard didn't have too much of a horseradish taste so I dug theirs. Potato salad was a little more dilly than I prefer. The restaurant is small so it wouldn't be good for a big group. The ordering process seemed to be more difficult than it should be for the folks at the counter. However the food is quality and they have a whole cooler of side options. They also accommodate the celiac among us with a lot of gluten-free bread options. Definitely worth a trip.

I hate this place! stop taking my money with your amazing food! my three star 'test run' review was way out of line. YOUR ruben is the best, i mean best in Boston. I have had them all over, and yours beats all the rest. Pros at making one meats, or at least curing them! focused on sustainable products. I mean you truly cant beat this place, and that is why i hate it, really hate it. I will be there today for a little cheer me up from the snow lunch. Did i say the portions are perfect? cause they are. did i say that the staff, mostly women, are so wonderously polite and attentive? the prices are lower than most places, so my silly not serious complaints are even more ridiculous! LOVE pure love!

This narrow, busy deli was just the ticket to satisfy my craving for some healthy comfort food. Deep bowls of soup appear to grace every table; I've got the winter vegetable with sorghum, but I also tried the Egyptian lentil (delish) and the matzo ball appeared to have large chunks of white meat sticking out the top. Knishes, salads and corned beef populate the deli case, while falafel, Schwarzwald and other sandwiches are also offered. Clean, cheap, friendly and tasty - what's not to love?

A tiny deli located on the small street of Pelham just off Centre Street in Newton Center. They had a couple of cute little tables set outside, and just a couple of handful of seats indoors, set along the windowside counter and a few wooden tables against the wall and in the back corner. We ordered at the counter and they brought our twin eggs over latkes $5.99 to the table. The eggs were fried over hard as requested and I enjoyed the crisp edges of the potato pancakes. A little tub of cinnamon scented chunky applesauce was brought over as requested in place of the offered ketchup. I saw several plates of the day's special falafel plate $6.99 go by during our visit - it looked terrific! And I'm interested in returning some day for their Russian Style Crepes (3) with caramelized bananas and Nutella for $6.99 or their cheese blintzes (2) served with sour cream and fruit topping for $4.99.

Amazing food, gluten free options, and super friendly staff. A must try: gluten free latkes and eggs, gluten free french toast with apples, gluten free chicken soup, fresh squeezed orange juice.

So excited to find authentic Jewish cooking in Newton - right around the corner from me! I actually grew up on a Pelham Ln in CT, so I was bound to become attached! This is a very casual dining experience, I love the prepared foods to go -Israeli Salad is delish, and the matzah ball soup is the real deal! It was a great experience, and on my second time there they even remembered me! I am excited to bring my mom next time and I am making this a regular stop! Thank you!

Most OUTSTANDING breakfast place in the area!! I´m so sick of average overplaced diner-y breakfast food. My boyfriend and I get SO excited when we decide to do Inna´s for breakfast. Challah French toast is his top choice and I´m in love with the blintzes. Fresh squeezed OJ, good coffee choices, friendly service (always the same faces) and a fabulous experience. For my Jewish friends, its like eating in their Grandma´s kitchen. For me, its just a refreshing home-cooked meal. COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE MORE.

If you want to eat a meal that warms your heart - like your grandmother's chicken soup on a cold winter day - then go to Inna's! We eat here regularly and have yet to be disappointed. We've tried the soups, falafel, pot pies, and numerous delights in the deli case. All yummy. All homemade. All cooked with love. I feel good in body and soul after each and every meal from Inna's. Inna and her son Alex demonstrate tremendous pride in their food. They take the time to get to know their customers including my 4 year old son who, like most children living in major metropolitan areas, is typically ignored or snubbed in restaurants. Their staff is also great and friendly and thoughtfully prepares the food. I love sitting at the table closest to the door and watching the magic behind the counter take place. The other day I watched Inna come out of the kitchen to apologize to a customer for being out of latkes. Adding awesome to excellent, they offer high quality gluten-free options. Alex has mastered gluten-free baking, which is no small feat. As a gluten-intolerant person, it's a bummer to eat corn chips, craptastic highly processed gluten-free bread, or nothing with your soup. So, I extra love Inna's for their outstanding bread and cookies. I've read a couple reviews complaining about wait time and lack of ambiance. Folks, this is a small family-run business and I hope you'll be a bit more forgiving in the future. If efficiency is your greatest value, then there's a Panera around the corner. However, instead of eating processed crap and supporting big business, you could instead check out the handful of family photos on the wall, read a Russian children's book, or just smile at all the happy people filling their tummies with yummies while you wait for your hand crafted food. Or, simply call ahead and place your order! I hope their business continues to grow and that they're able to manifest their vision for the future of their restaurant. PS - While Inna's is kid friendly, they have but a handful of tables and only one of them seats more than two people so be prepared to put your munchkins on your lap or get carry out :)

Very-well executed Jewish cuisine. Lots of comfort foods for me here. Nice selection of breakfast foods for the kids (e.g., pancakes). Only the lack of tables for families of 4+ prevents 5 stars.

Not what I expected. I'm originally from NYC and we New Yorkers have pretty strong opinions as to what a Jewish Deli is. This ain't it. I would categorize it as a Middle Eastern, or more precisely Israeli restaurant. Delicatessen, no way. A true Jewish deli is a place where you will find house made pastrami and corned beef coming out of the smokers all day then steamed before it's sliced and piled high, staples like matzo ball soup,.stuffed derma, noodle kugel, chopped liver, kasha varnishkes, brisket, smoked white fish, sturgeon, sour and half sour kosher dill pickles are either not there at all, or mediocre versions at best. It's a mitzvah that they don't have a real kosher deli nearby or this place would be out of business. If I took my New York friends to eat here they would think I'm mashugana.

I don't really have any criticism for this restaurant. It may not be glatt but in my book it is kosher. Not much else to say! Unbeliavable food! Awesome service! No criticism!

I was amused by their special offer - you get $1.00 off of your meal if you order something you've never tried before. The way the guy behind the register explained it to me: "Just find something you want on the menu, and then order something else." As it happened, I had the matzo ball soup, rosemary fries, and a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce on pumpernickel, none of which I could honestly claim were new to me but which were good and reasonably priced nonetheless.

Fantastic falafel, and I know from falafel! Don't hesitate. It's fresh, it's delicious, it's real food. Bravo, Inna's Kitchen.

Great little place to eat - came here with my girlfriends and ordered breakfast food, potatoes, corned beef hash and other tasty treats. Friendly service! The food was really delicious - I gave it 4 stars because it was a little small - although some people like that feel, but couldn't come here with a huge group...more intimate setting, which is really nice too. I'm also very picky about my corned beef hash and while this was still delicious, it wasn't 5 stars (may be for others of course - don't mind me). Great all around and I'd love to go back and try some lunch items!

A hidden gem! Yes, there may not be a lot of seating, but I've always been able to find a table for two when we go. You must try: Chicken Shawarma Salad Plate with an Israeli Pita Shakshuka (Israeli/Middle Eastern breakfast dish consisting of poached eggs in a tomato/vegetable sauce - YUM!!) Roast Turkey Breast Sandwich Chicken Matzo Ball Soup Delicious cold brewed iced coffee And I'm sure after I've been there a few more times there will be more to add to this list. Inna and Alex are always smiling and always able to answer any questions you may have. I am so lucky to live close to this delicious establishment. Please go here, buy a ton of food, and leave happy!

You must try this place. It is the definition of "Hidden Gem." Frankly, I wish Inna had a better location because her outstanding quality deserves all the new foot traffic type business she can get. And her new foot traffic type customers will be lucky to have found her. You kinda have to look for this place, or be told about it, to know it exists. So, now you have been told. And it is awesome. Everything is homemade and delicious. Inna is delightful to talk with. Wow, what more can I tell you except stop reading and GO THERE NOW!

If YELP had a 6th star on its rating scale this place would get it. I ordered the breakfast wrap for myself and got a roast beef sandwich for my hubby, loaded with lettuce, tomato, cheese and horseradish sauce. DELICIOUS! I have tried all the Jewish Deli's in Newton and this one is by far the most amazing. The staff is so friendly and the place is very clean. I will go back this week to try the most talked about homemade falafel and write an update. Yummy!!!!

We were quite impressed. Food was delicious. Shaksuka was very interesting to try, (thanks to reviewer Scott) the tomato concoction was delicious and the wheat pita bread quite fresh. I might have liked to try it with some rice/noodles. Falafel salad was delicious and very fresh. Their falafel was very tasty. Matzo ball soup was quite nice. It's like a chicken noodle soup with a matzo ball. Atmosphere great, quite laidback and family style. Thank you to yelp for bringing me here (we were drawn by the awesome reviews). Can't wait to try the other items.

I think I may covert to Judaism ! Joking but in all seriousness this place is amazing. I got eggs of latkes and then my lunch/dinner to go! They have a huge variety which includes authentic Mediterranean !! The owner is so sweet and everything is made fresh. A definite must try!

Three words: coffee ice cubes! I'm just a little bit in love with this place. Their omlets are delicious. They rye toast is probably the best I've ever had. Inna knows how do to breakfast. Another added bonus: The staff is so freaking nice, you almost forget you're in the Boston area. If you haven't ventured out to Newton Centre to hit up Inna's Kitchen, you're missing out.

I found this place while looking for lunch spots with Wifi. When I got there I found they had great specials and homemade GLUTEN FREE products. I even got to taste test a few things. Their soups and a few other products (gluten-free buckwheat blintzes) are frozen for purchase. The GF bread even tastes like Rye so I paired it up with pastrami for jewish heaven! Well done Inna.

Just like Bubbe made (if I had a Bubbe). Fortunately you don't have to be Jewish to appreciate this place. You walk in and just know that all of the food is clearly made from scratch. I had to try the Matzo Ball soup, which was seriously fantastic! The broth was just right, not too salty, and the consistency of the matzo ball was perfect. I'd have preferred a little more chicken for the price, but I'm not going to grouse too much. The meat knish was a good choice as well, made with rosemary grown right outside the front door. They also sell Mexican Coca-cola, Yacht Club and Dr. Brown's sodas (all made with sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.) They lost one star for the atmosphere. It's a tiny, hole-in-the-wall, very limited seating, and lacking in anything resembling charm.

Love this place! The young man who usually works the front is incredibly friendly. Right off the bat I'm happy, because he seems happy. Bad service makes all food taste worse. But the food here is YUMMY! If you haven't tried a Jewish deli, do it! If you grew up on the stuff, it's as good as anything you've ever had.

My family and I definitely enjoy the food and service. Its a particularly treat when the owner comes out to say hi to the customers. The overall staff are all very helpful and friendly. It gives it a family like feel that we enjoy.

Went for breakfast recently and was underwhelmed. Ordered two eggs, scrambled, with pastrami hash and toast. Eggs were solid, but hash was a small portion of a few small pieces of potato with dried out, hard pieces of pastrami. Also this comes with one small slice of toast (come on folks would it kill you to make it two pieces??) Not a good value at all. I wanted to love this place, but...

Homemade Mushroom Barley Soup - thick and hearty with huge pieces of fresh mushroom- perfect for a snowy winter's day. Just like my grandma's that used to take her all day to make. I picked up some from their freezer on the way home from work and we enjoyed it with dinner that night. What could be better! Inna's Kitchen is off the beaten path on a side street in Newton Centre. I happened upon it one day when they first opened a few years ago and really liked it. Frankly forgot about it until I happened to go down their side street yesterday. I was so happy to see that they are still going strong 3 years later. The old adage out of site out of mind definitely applies here. The good news is there is plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant. It's worth the effort to find this little gem but don't show up with tons of people - there is very little seating.

Just had a shakshuka and was instantly transported back to my year of living in Israel. The spices were spot on, the eggs cooked perfectly, the pita fresh.... And the best iced coffee I have ever had (cubes are from frozen coffee). I can't wait to try every single item on the menu! Places like this are few and far between.

This is a family owned restaurant. I loved that they introduced themselves as the owners of the place and thanked us for coming . The Sandwiches were filling and fresh and it had a very homey feel if you know what I mean. My issue was with the wait time & to go bag. We walked in and ordered 3 sandwiches and 20 minutes later they were served to us. During our wait there was only one other customer who walked in to pick up an order. I'm not sure why it was would that long to put meat on toast, so for that inconvenience I would say you should call ahead of time to order your food and pick it up. They did apologize for the wait, which I appreciate, but with 3 staff members working behind the counter it just seemed like poor time management. Also, they don't individually pack the takeout meals. So, I had 3 sandwiches, 3 sides, and 3 pickles wrapped in tin foil all tossed into on in large brown bag. I wouldn't have minded except that the juice from the pickles leaked out into the bag and onto all the sandwiches. I would suggest they individually wrap each meal in a to go box to avoid that from happening. Definitely go in and check them out for yourself.

This. Food. Was. Amazing. Our orange juice was fresh-squeezed to order, the coffee was top-notch, and my eggs-over-sweet-potato-latkes dish was perfection. Will definitely be coming back-- it's hard to find food this good for this small price!

I visited Inna's based on the great reviews and was so disappointed. I ordered a Corned Beef sandwich. It was over priced at 10.99, corned beef was very fatty and had no good flavor to it. I've eaten so much better. Sides were so small. Slaw was flavorless. I wont be back here anytime soon.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I missed my Jew food so much since I got diagnosed with celiac and have to be GLUTEN-FREE. The gluten free blintzes are outstanding. Ditto the gf challah French toast. My husband had a corned beef sandwich on regular bread for normal people and loved it. My brother said the normal people knishes were great too.

Fantastic. They have a wide range of Jewish foods, and they all look delicious. I had the falafel, and it was great. If you go during a busy time (I was there the day before Rosh Hashanah), don't expect to be able to sit inside.

  • KJ R.

This is an old school jewish deli that produces gorgeous soups, salads, lasagnes, and falafel. Except Inna's places a focus on organic, vegetarian, and gluten free foods. The Tabouli made with quinoa was a revelation. The Borscht was beautiful. And it is one of my favorite spots in town to get falafel. And I drive a half hour from home to purchase pre-made healthful food.

This is the way a small deli is meant to be. Welcoming decor, pleasant and attentive service, and delicious food characterize this family owned and run eatery. From start to finish, the experience was well worth the trip. The lox, egg, and onion on a bagel was cooked to perfection and fresh. The price was lower than I expected, and we were given fresh fruit as a compliment to a first visit. I was introduced to the family by the friendly chef, and felt right at home. The menu ranges from breakfasts, to lunches and meals, as well as fresh desserts. They also offer up take home options like sandwich meats and soups that they prepare on site. I will definitely be going back to try their chicken shawarma!

I am one of the school nurses visiting from California, we've been here for 2 weeks looking for gluten free restaurant, finally found one, They have lots of selections to choose from. It's home-cook style. Much better from those diners and food chain around.

I had their falafel plate with hummus, salad and other sides. The food was tasty and felt healthier and less heavy than most restaurant tood. Service was good and the lunch did not break the bank. I look forward to trying the shakshuka next time.

Inna's is a great place with excellent food! I had the shwarma and falafel combo plate and it was delicious. Also the maltzah ball soup and rugalas were great. I just wish they had more places to sit inside. Great jewish food, I will be back!

Inna's is great. My co-workers and I order from Inna's regularly, and we have never been disappointed. We can rely on them to get it just right every time. Their food is high-quality, well-made, and reasonably priced. I wish you had a restaurant!

Just had Oatmeal and fried potatoes as I am a Vegan. Both were as good as possible. Also, the staff is very personable, nice and aims to please. And no line or problem getting a table at 10am, unlike some other places in vicinity. Easy parking -- big lots right past on Pelham St. Only about 6 tables so not necessarily good for large groups; since narrow design can't just move tables together. Perfect!

The guy behind the counter (Inna's son and co-owner, I believe) told me the iced coffee would be the best I ever had. He was absolutely right - cold brewed (yup, I'd never heard of that before either) and served with frozen coffee ice cubes. Great flavor, naturally almost sweet, no bitterness; truly the best I've ever had. I bought some frozen stuffed collard greens to eat later. I just finished them and was compelled to log on and write a review. I believe these are vegan, gluten-free and probably somewhat low-carb (stuffed with brown rice, tofu, carrots, etc.). How can these be so healthy and so good?

Matzo-ball soup makes me happy. Good matzo-ball soup gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling deep in my soul...and it helps the universe to align. Inna's Kitchen makes matzo-ball soup that truly warms the soul and their turkey sandwiches are also something to smile about. Hubby claims the roast beef sandwich is melt-in-your-mouth yummy, not to mention the perfection that is their potato salad *drool*. Both Inna and her son Alex know what they are doing with the impressive quality and variety of food, and their knowledge of the different dietary preferences (i.e., Kosher, organic, gluten-free). The only type of soda they carry is the Coca-Cola made with real sugar rather than the high-fructose corn syrup. This little restaurant/deli in Newton Center has become my happy place whether I have plenty of time to enjoy my lunch, or if I need a quick order of soup to go because I'm running late for class. Both Alex and Inna are friendly and my husband and I feel like family when we stop in. The overall atmosphere is welcoming and there is always a smile and warm greeting.

Well, add my five star review to the list. I had the pleasure of enjoying a good lunch here while in Newton a few months back. This is a true Jewish delicatessen. I got a pastrami and swiss sandwich, and a bowl of matzos ball soup. Both were excellent!!! Because they make their food with minimal salt, the food tastes the way it supposed to taste, not like a pretzel. The homemade soup had a nice light flavor to it, but still tasted the way matzos ball soup is supposed to taste. The sandwich had an ample amount of lean, high quality pastrami that melted in my mouth. If you're ever in Newton Center, and you want a delicious, quality meal, I'd definitely recommend Inna's Kitchen!

I went yesterday just to try some items and order a GF (gluten free) challah for my son. The challah was quite delicious. I had the Shuba and a cabbage knish (not GF) for lunch. Both were excellent and affordable. I also bought a carrot cake cupcake, gluten free as well, and man, my son ate it up like nobody's business. Real top quality stuff, and the owner and her son (who helped me) know their stuff when it comes to gluten free and cross-contamination issues. I'll be back!

I work in the neighborhood, and options for a quality, reasonably priced lunch are fairly thin. There are definitely some good spots, but Inna's Kitchen easily tops the list. Generally, I stick to the sandwiches, which are a good size and come with a generous side of potato salad or cole slaw, along with a crisp pickle. I've also sampled some of the many excellent food that can be purchased by the pound. The knishes and strudel are also very good. And yesterday, I had the pastrami-seasoned turkey burger with Swiss chard and mustard, which came with some very good thick-cut fries and a very fresh salad. It was a big meal for a lunch, but easily the best lunch I've had in the four years that I've worked in the neighborhood. The service is always extremely friendly and helpful, and they'll offer you samples of any of the food in the case. The space is cute, small, clean and bright, with a few tables, though I've only done takeout thus far. Basically, I have nothing but praise for Inna's, and they do everything right.

With a wide array of delicious home-cooked choices, I had trouble deciding what to order. And I'm a vegetarian with food allergies -- that's saying something! All the food was labeled with its ingredients, and I could pronounce all the ingredients. That's how I like my food. Everything my lunch buddy and I got was fantastic, but I will continue raving about the falafel for a while. *So* good.

To my gluten-free peeps out there, this is a must try. I just had my first Inna's lunch and it won't be my last. I got a soup/sandwich combo of grilled chicken w/ avocado on the gluten free challah and squash soup and it was all so good. I never thought I'd truly enjoy a sandwich again since most gluten free breads are dry and thick to me. This bread was truly the best. Thank you Inna's!

  • Sarah C.

I can't decide what I like more, the food or the extremely friendly service. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. Great place to stop in and grab an affordable and large sandwich to go. My favorite is the egg salad on light rye. There is limited seating so it's not really a dine in deli. Also I have to mention how clean and up kept the deli is. Inna's = Consistency.

LOVE this place--a gluten freer's heaven. The gluten free challah french toast is amazing, but my favorite is the sandwiches--something I'd given up since going gluten free, but no more. Wonderful service, fresh and healthy food, great coffee--highly recommended!

Inna's kitchen is amazing. The falafel plate is incredible, the service is good, the prices are reasonable and the iced coffee is spectacular! I've only been twice but I plan on working through the menu and trying everything. I'm a vegetarian and a student so I really appreciate the high quality well priced vegetarian fare. Try it if you haven't, it might become your new favorite lunch spot!

One of the most welcoming places in Newton. Outstanding, fresh food served in a no-nonsense atmosphere. Everything I have had here is excellent. One caution, however: the service can be slow, and there are only a half-dozen tables. But you feel so appreciated here, and the food is so good, that it is definitely worth the wait.

Love, love, love Inna and Inna's Kitchen! Four of us came here for lunch after finding this place on Yelp. We were all thrilled with our meal and our whole dining experience. When we came in, the only table large enough was occupied by a single diner. She graciously agreed to move to a smaller table, so that we could have hers. Between the four of us we had the matzoh ball soup, falafel soup, brisket sandwich, pastrami sandwich, cinnamon challah french toast, scrambled eggs, and 3 types of knishes (potato, meat, spinach & feta). We loved everything! The half sandwich and soup combo was perfect for lunch. We chatted with Inna and her son about the restaurant and the food, and found them both delightful and friendly. If they had been open on Sunday and Memorial Day, we would have come back both days. Everything is made fresh from scratch. We will be finding excuses to come back to Newton, just so we can eat here!

Where else can you find food for a 95 year old and her fussy vegetarian grandsons and gluten free daughter? I can' t say enough about inna's . This is a place that truly cares about everything they serve. I have never tasted anything I haven't loved. I only wish it were closer to my home. A special thanks to Inna' son Alex who has mastered the art of great gf desserts The cupcakes are fabulous.

Just visited Inna's this afternoon for lunch and enjoyed my felafel. The Pita was toasty warm, the vegetables were fresh and the Felafel was a bit soft but not overly fried. I could tell that this deli cooked with their customer's health in mind. After lunch, I did not feel heavy as I would normally do after eating at other deli, diner or sandwich shops.

I eat at Inna's Kitchen as often as I can. Inna and her staff do an amazing job of preparing good, healthy food that makes you feel good, but is not bad for your health. I can't say there is anything that I've tried that I haven't enjoyed. Alex's Breakfast - with Pastrami Hash (potatoes and pastrami) with eggs is outstanding and will keep you coming back for more. And the briskit and goulash cannot be toyed with. Forget about the soups - they are hearty and amazing. Food for the Soul. My mom cooks just like this, but she is thousands of miles away, so Mama Inna will have to be the stand in :). I highly recommend Inna's kitchen for breakfast, lunch and food to go. TIP: Calling ahead, or ordering your hallah or cookies in advance will make your visit quicker if you're in a rush.

  • Anna B.

Impressed with this hole-in-the-wall just off the main drag in Newton Centre. I had veggie soup which was not salted-to-death like most deli soup and corned beef that was tasty without glowing pink. And their cole slaw is not drowned in mayo. The food seems healthy for deli food... My colleagues liked their meals too. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that they might have forgotten a pita my friend thought she was getting with her salad and they only have swiss and munster cheese. I know, I know - I am a pathetic cheddar-loving American!!! I'll go back though. Good spot.

Insane day at work and it was my turn to "cook" our Friday night dinner (the only time we all sit together at our table)....ran to Inna's on a quest for matzoh ball soup. Not only was the soup delicious but potato latkes were perfect, just the right amount of brown crunchiness. It's the first time I've spied a kasha knish in Boston which tipped Alex off that I am a New Yorker. As a vegetarian who has become an outcast at family tables ("essen essen") I tried Alex's own veggie recipe - collard green wrap concoction with tofu and brown rice and it was fantastic. The restaurant honors the intent of kashrut without the certification and seeks to provide humanely raised meats and fairly traded items like Equal Exchange coffee. We'll be back!

I love Inna's Kitchen food and people. Inna's matzo-ball soup I think is the best in town.... it's hard to perfect the perfect matzo, but I think it's happening here. Firm, yet delicate with a nice light egg flavor to it and the broth is delicious with bits of shredded chicken floating in the soup. No preservatives at this place and salt levels are very low. Also love the corned beef and pastrami which I believe they cure on premises for a week. I get take out for dinner as well while I'm at it and have loved the stuffed cabbages and their turkey meatballs are delish. What more can I say. Please go out and support Inna's -- a true FRESH, home-cooked lunch or dinner is wating. And Inna, Alex and Greg are super nice!

At my daughter's suggestion, I had lunch at inna's Kitchen this past week and was absolutely delighted by both the graciousness, helpfulness, and thoughtfulness of Inna and her son Alex and by the food which is clearly made with great knowledge and thought about customers and their needs. If you come because you want to have a chance to try some more typical Jewish deli fare, I imagine you will be rewarded, but my lunch friend and I went off in a different direction. I had the marvelous falafel sandwich (on whole wheat pita - now where can you get that combo?) and my friend had gluten-free vegetarian lasagna (you are reading this correctly) that was so delicate and subtle that I would hesitate before eating regular lasagna again if I could eat Inna's! If you or anybody you know is gluten-free, this small and welcoming spot should be at the top of your list. I will be returning soon to sample more!

Absolutely loved the split pea soup I had the other day; just had to add a touch of salt and black pepper and it was perfect; they don't oversalt at Inna's and that's a good thing. The tuna sand. I had was also quite delicious. Came back for breakfast and was also pleased; the hash potatoes were particularly tasty, and again, not too salty like they were at another Newton establishment. I'll be back!
