Having only been open a week, we did not expect great things on our first visit. The two star rating may be a little unfair, but valid on the date we visited. The menu has enough variety and some of the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked quite good. They should take the chowder off the menu and focus on the Italian soups. We ordered a salad, haddock ragu and linguine with sausage and meatballs. The salad was great and enough to share. The haddock was undercooked, still translucent and the veggies were barely cooked. One bit of mostly raw asparagus and peppers and raw garlic ruined the rest of the meal. They could back off on the pound of mashed potatoes on the plate too. The linguine was good, not great and the portion was skimpy compared to other dishes being served. Sauce was tasty but meatballs could use more seasoning. With time these guys could have a great thing going, especially with recent closings of other Italian restaurants in Gloucester. One final note, the gelato pannini are very good, like an Italian ice cream sandwich! We'll be back once they get their rhythm going!

Had an hour to kill and decided to try the new spot in town. Good decision on our part! The bread and butter you get is ridiculous. The butter is this sweet, orangey, bright and delicious. The bread was crusty and excellent. I got the shrimp scampi which was creamy, buttery and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Paired with fat shrimp, huge tomatoes and basil, it was a great pick, highly recommend. The other was the Short Rib and Smoked Mozzarella Ravioli. Let's be serious...tender short rib over these cheese stuffed pockets of awesomeness. Smothered in this sauce that I can't even describe...just amazing. We did have the Gelato panini, which was different but very tasty. It's like a crusty uncrustable peanut butter and jelly sandwich. With vanilla gelato. Oh and caramel. Enough said. We recommend it, and we will DEFINITELY be going back!!!

Sigh...the quest continues... We were excited to get a new entry into the currently underwhelming pizza offerings in Gloucester. Unfortunately, this latest entry fits right in. Here's the deets: We got 1veggie, 1 pizza unica, 1 cheese and a shrimp scampi dinner for delivery. Pros: -ordering and delivery were great. Smooth and fast -deep dish pizza!!! -price point was great. Cheaper than most other places around -crust was Ok Cons: -deep dish pizza oven was broken...no deep dish. I actually didn't know there was such a thing as a separate deep dish oven, but there's was busted. Thin crust only -bland salty pizza. Even the kids passed on the cheese pizza. -pizza unica had prosciutto on it...funny thing, when you bake slices of prosciutto, it turns into jerky. Yuck -the shrimp scampi was a bowl of oily slimey goop. My daughter tossed it after two bites. Not sure we're going to give the deep dish a shot given the quality of thin crust. Maybe give it a few months to see if they can turn it around.

We just ate here with the family- it was a mix of good and .... Well ... Off. It seems unfortunately disorganized although the staff was very friendly. They divided my plate, which I shared with my man- we didn't even ask- it was appreciated! The lobster pot pie wasn't what was on the menu but it was good. Just a little cold and with soggy crumbs. My mom loved her lobster mac and cheese. The scallop as an appetizer were cold and hard!!!!! For the price point I would go to a million other places first. I want them to succeed, I hope they get organized and decide on their menu! Focus!!!

Great Italian food and excellent service. The Alfredo was very good and the Stuffed Shrimp and Salads are delicious.

The food is great and the service good, no question. The prices and portion sizes, however leave a great deal to be desired. Got an extra $10-20? Italian food should be abundant. The final blow was a bill that auto-calculated 20% and a 25% tip amounts -- not 15%. 25%? OK, I get it, this place is not for me.

We've been here a few times. Thus far we've had the chicken alfredo, smoked mozzarella and short rib, flat iron steak, chowder, pizza, and the Gelato panini dessert. Everything is homemade and it came out awesome, which with two super picky people is hard to come by. The pasta sauces were rich in flavor and perfect consistency. The portions are perfect for a meal, especially with ordering appetizers and dessert. The owners and chef are super friendly and almost always come over to ask how our meal was.

We drove by this a week ago and decided to give it a shot... And were very pleasantly suprised! It's in an old take out pizza joint but the interior was given a pretty comprehensive makeover. The space was warm and inviting. Dinner started with fresh bread and an amazing sweet butter that was pretty much incredible. As an appetizer we got the pan-seared mozzarella with marinara sauce. Outstanding! For a main course I had Linguini, Sausage and meatball. That lasted about 4 minutes before it was devoured. The dessert was the gelato pannini-- actually maybe the lowlight of an otherwise incredible meal. We'll be here again and I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones-- the line was out the door as we left.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
