Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and so unique! The sangria could be a little stronger but delicious either way!!

My husband and I were here with a Living Social deal. We ordered the Tour of the Iberian Peninsula because it included 7 items on it for $31. Although the item's description listed fritters and fried cheese, it did not say that 3 other items would also be fried. I even asked the waitress her opinion before ordering it and wished she had mentioned that, as we definitely would have chosen other dishes. I have heard that the sangria is great, but we were not drinking tonight. I probably will not be returning.

I think this restaurant is just the best. Amazing service. Amazing tapas especially the sweet potato fries and the fantastic dip. And any sangria choice you would be so happy with.

Pretty nice! It was my first time here and at a tappas bar. Service Me and my guest were greeted right away. Our server Ciara was adorable, helpful and recommended some good dishes. The manager came out and greeted us as well. After desert, our server offered us a complimentary tasting of one of their wines. Atmosphere VERY chic! There was music playing. It was upbeat but not loud. Food: delicious, presentation was beautiful. I would go back, but I'm briningmoney ($$$)

When it come to Sangria I am a self proclaimed Mixologist and at the risk of sounding conceited, mine is hard to beat. I may have found my match at Sangrias Tapas and Wines. We tried a couple but my favorite was the "Cinco Frutas". It was a concoction of Red wine, Offley Ruby Porto, Chambord Liqueur, orange & cranberry juices, blueberries & blackberries, topped off with Champagne & Sprite, YUUUMMMMMM!! The service was great, waitstaff very attentive as was the food. We tried a few Tapas and an entree. The Paell, worthy of a crown,Pica-Pau; a combination of marinated beef, pork, chicken and chouriço sautéed in a spicy garlic and white wine sauce, DELICIOUS, Presunto Mac N' Cheese; Pasta baked with a Gruyère, Havarti & Parmesan sauce, topped with presunto and Batatas Fritas (basically glorified french fries). They were all great but my fav was the Pica Pau. We will definitly be back!

The staff and the ambiance made this a location to come back to. The Sangria (red) was excellent, light and went down like soda -as it was designed for! However, my husband and I agreed that the tapas were hit or miss and they probably should cull the selections to only leave the really impressive options. Its difficult to make recommendations to dine on. On a particularly good note of service however, there was one option that I would not even eat and when I didn't touch it, a manager insisted on finding me another option that suited my tastes. Oh, but the chocolate mousse was all they say it is and more! They could probably save money by serving less per person, it is so rich we could only get through half of it! But you definitely wish you could finish it! I would probably come again if I had a friend in town where I wanted to go for atmosphere (early in the week when it is a quieter location). Not so much for eating but as a great place to get a drink!

Being from Rhode Island, it's sometimes hard to find good places to eat and ones we haven't been to before within the state, but when a good friend of mine rant and raved about this place, I had to taste it for myself - even if I had to get outta town. I took my sister-in-law and being full blooded Portuguese, or Americanized-Portuguese, as I call it, I somewhat knew what I was getting into. We got a couple of items and we asked the waitress what she would recommended and for more clarification of the items. She was great, friendly, knowledgeable about the dishes, ingredients, and spices, and the meal was delicious. The "extra dark" Portuguese Passion Sangria was tasty and I have to admit, I nearly finished the pitcher myself - I did say I was Portuguese. We started with the Lulas Fritas, or fried calamari, which was really good, but be aware that it doesn't come with marinara sauce or tartar. You probably have to ask for those but we didn't. We got the Cogumelos Salteados, Camarão À Moçambique which were really good size, the Pica-Pau, and the Batatas Fritas. Everything was fantastic, hot, delicious, and the waitress did a great job making sure we weren't waiting for our next dish too long. And dessert...from what the other people where having, they looked good but we were too stuffed to even attempt them. Parking can be hard to find yourself so opt for the Valet, which my friend then told me is free or is free on certain night. I'd definitely go again.

I decided take take my date on a Thursday night to Sangria's as a surprise. Neither of us had been to this place. Additionally, I had never tasted Tapas before so I was excited to see what it was all about. Parking was easy to find and just across the restaurant. Once Inside we were greeted by sharply dressed man who seated us by the wall across from the bar. The place looked very clean and the ambience was perfect. Our waitress came over and we ordered a pitcher of the house red Sangria, which by the way was super delicious. We decided to order 4 Tapas plates for the two of us: Queijo Frito (Fried Cheese), Steak Tips Special, Azeitonas (Marinated Olives), Camarao Alhinho (Pan seared Shrimp). My favorite plate was the Steak tips special. The meat was well done (how we ordered it), and the juices and buttery taste felt incredible in my mouth. The Shrimp came in a bowl, in like a soup-like manner and also had a great taste. I devoured the Azeitonas, they were varied and fresh. The only Tapas I wasn't crazy about was the Queijo Frito. I've had fried cheese in two different countries before and loved it. However, for some reason the one here did not have any taste. The waitress was attentive, courteous, classy and friendly. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and knew how to make recommendations on the spot. She waited on us the correct way, not like some who check in every 30 seconds. Great job! The menu had so many appetizing choices, that I will definitely be going back!

Place is just... meh. Went for drinks with some friends + wasn't too impressed with the sangria we got... the description said it had tons of different fruits in it... but not the case when we got it. It was the berry one. sad. The place also had a fire alarm that went off for what seemed like an eternity... you know that kind that HURTS SO HARD its so loud? yeah that was awesome--- but not their fault. The staff was really nice though-- super friendly! I would try it again if i was out in that area but it is out there + I don't get there much! Parking is also kinda tough. if you are in the area this might be your kinda place... but meh.

I think it's safe to say I am hooked on this place! My friend and I decided to go a few weeks ago on a Friday after work for some tapas and wine. We were greeted timely and sat right away (which on a Friday night would make you skeptical but no need to be, this place will not disappoint!). We ordered 3 tapas dishes, a beef tip special, a sort of fried cheese, and the mushroom plate. The beef tips were phenomenal, the fried cheese was delicious, but the mushrooms we ended up sending back because they were WAY too garlicy. It had said on the menu the mushrooms were lightly sautéed with thyme and garlic but all you tasted was garlic, not a hint of mushroom to be found. Our server was really nice about it, offered to bring us a second dish of the mushrooms but we opted not to try them again. The portions of the tapas are generous, two was filling enough...oh plus the wine They offer some really great wine selections and very reasonable. My favorite has to be the house melbec, at $6 a glass its smooth and has great undertones. After visit number one on Friday, we decided to go back for round two Monday! Again, we were impressed but this time we enjoyed the hummus and a mixed meat and vegetables concoction. The hummus comes with warm pita bread and it out of this world. This time I opted for another wine, it was a white and a perfect middle of the road one at that but I can't remember the name. Overall, the prices are reasonable, the wine amazing, and the staff very attentive and friendly this place is a must try!

I have eaten at Sangria's multiple times and have never been disappointed. It is so nice that Attleboro has a nicer restaurant! Even though it is not Spanish, the mac and cheese is amazing. The different mussels and shrimp dishes are packed with fabulous flavor. Love the hummus.

Great service and dinner! They have a big selection. The tough part was deciding on what to get. The shrimp and little necks were perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back!

Great to see this happening in downtown Attleboro but with just 1 dinner I will never go back again. I was with my wife and a business colleague, food was better than OK . We were going to have dinner, and then stay for the live entertainment. Just as soon as the bill was paid the "Owner" asked me to move along ...This with all of us still having drinks in front of us.. Sorry but I can find better ways to spend my money than to be insulted like this..

Wait, I feel like I didnt go to the same restaurant as most of the reviewers on here... but I'll explain my experience anyway. I came here with the boy on a Wednesday night because of all the A+ reviews on yelp, I love tapas style food so I figured why not. We got a parking spot right up front, walked in and were greeted by a friendly man who quickly seated us wherever we desired. We had already took a glance at the menu before hand and decided on the "Tour of Spain" so we ordered that. The "Tour of Spain" consisted of braised rabbit, fried cheese, sweet potato fries, saffron infused mussels, tuna empanadas and arroz con frijoles. I was expecting the tapas style ordeal that I've had before... where they ask you how you want the food to be brought out... one dish at a time.. two at a time, whatever. Literally about 7 minutes go by and this platter of food comes out. It just seemed a little weird that they made all of that in 5 minutes... made me question whether it was fresh or not. Anyway, I started with the empanadas. They were alright, but nothing out of the ordinary. Sort of tasted like canned tuna inside the empanada 'shell' or whatever youd want to call it. Fried cheese was... well fried cheese. Nothing special.. bland as hell. Sweet potato fries werent bad. As far as the mussels, my boyfriend described it perfectly with "these taste like dish soap". And last but not least, that rabbit. Now I'm no chef, but I know that there's a fine line when you cook rabbit and it can get dry very quickly. Well, that was the case here. I could barely get the meat off the bone and the flavor was bland and almost revolting. I can sum up this experience by saying, the service was great, our server was attentive and friendly but the food made me feel like I was eating from a chinese buffet. Greasy, bland and nothing special AT ALL.

This review is based not on the food, but on how poorly the restaurant is run. I don't know about you, but when I make a reservation for 730 I expect to get a table shortly after. What I got was at 8, 30 minutes after my reservation that "it should only be 15 more minutes!" That was not acceptable in my mind! On the way out a couple looked at my party and said "don't waste your time, the food was not worth it!"

Extremely excellent offering in the downtown area. Excellent food, atmosphere and drinks. Loved the tapas concept which allowed you to try different items and mix up your meal. Excellent service as well. To top it off, they had some great live entertainment. Check it out!

Nice atmosphere and nice service. I had the empanadas and the paella both were good. The paella has a distinctive flavor, more smoky than saffron. I will be back to try some of the other things on the menu but it does look promising.

I was indecisive about 3 or 4 stars. Don't worry, I shall explain. :) I have tried this place 3 times. Once when I it just, just opened; which was nice but they were still a little flustered, understandably, seeing how they just opened their doors. It was me and a few friends that wanted to check the scene, and maybe try out some of the tapas for snacks. None of us have experienced 'Tapas', so drinks and fun experience. Sure, why not? 2 pitchers of their house, red wine sangria-which was very tasty, and had lots of fresh fruit. We also ordered the cheese bread, calamari and hummus with pita chips. Yeah, so, drinks and snacks. BUT, very tasty. Best part, we got seating in the back on their comfy couches. So, the ambiance was just right. I was worried when I showed a second time and my date and I got seating in the middle of the dining area, (which was already very loud). Then live music set up right next to us, which if we at the couches would have been fabulous. Although, being directly across from the speakers and singer- we just finished our drinks and left. Their was no chance of any conversation in such a small establishment. This is kinda the same situation I had the last time I went. Although, I never had a chance to REALLY try their food. So, one more date and we stuck it out so I could at least taste some of the hearty dishes they had to offer. Dining with a picky eater, I could only order so much. We decided on: Beef stuffed pastries and caril de camarao to share. He ordered the olive selection for himself and I ordered the mac&cheese. Everything was just fabulous. In a way, I'm glad he was a picky eater so I got all the mac&cheese to myself, (HaHa!) Oh, and the sauce for the shrimp dish was so, so, so good. I used everything including my napkin to soak it up. So, I press, the tastes were great. But it's the little things I remember which might have brought it too 3 stars. -I love the live music, but it's too much like a bar most of the time, even without. I can't hear one person I'm with. So our meal consists of texting back and forth. -I'm feeling two different atmospheres in there and I think they need to decide what they are going for. Is it a bar or is it a lounge? The front is an uncomfortable bar, the back is a comfy lounge. Well, that's it. I'm still going back to try more of their food, lunch maybe? Because where there is tasty grub, I'm a comin'

I was told about this place from a friend. So I wanted to check it out. After living in California for 17 yrs, the food here on the east coast has been iffy I am also a personal chef so as picky as they come!!! I was extremely impressed and satisfied. They staff went above and beyond including the owners! This by far is now my new favorite place! I believe one of the owners A.J. Silver ? I think, was very nice and very attentive. He also is very very attractive so over all , an incredible dinner, amazing service and beautiful eye candy! Who could ask for more ?

Went here for Mother's Day with my (Portuguese) in-laws. We ordered 6 entrees, none of which we would order again. Everything was under-seasoned and seriously bland. I really find it hard to believe that the chef is tasting the food before it leaves the kitchen. If he is, I hope the owners are looking for a new one. I was/am really pulling for this place because it is a beautiful addition to the downtown Attleboro area. The ambiance is great, the drinks are great...the food, though, needs a LOT of work. I have not given up on Sangria's because it has SO MUCH potential.

I cannot begin to explain how incredibly impressed I was by the food, service, ambiance, and overall experience I had at Sangria's this evening. We had a reservation (which I highly recommend, because we saw the place fill up once we were seated!) From the second we walked in, we felt very welcome - the hostess showed us to our seat and before we could even sit, the waitress was there filling our water glasses and explaining the menu. Our waitress, Audra, was FANTASTIC. She first asked if we were familiar with tapas style dining, which we were, and then proceeded to explain the specials for the evening. We ordered a pitcher of the Portuguese style sangria, which was fantastic! It was a white wine sangria with passion fruit puree - if nothing else, try this when you go!! One pitcher was enough for 4 people, but we could have easily ordered two, especially for as reasonably priced as it is! We then all ordered the salad, and the waitress was nice enough to explain each selection to us to make sure that's what we really wanted. One of my friends, upon hearing the description, changed her mind to a different salad. This was a great move on the waitresses part, because she made sure we all knew what we were getting. And then, the TAPAS! Oh my, my mouth is salivating just thinking of what we devoured! We ordered 6 small plates for 4 of us, and while although I thought it wasn't enough food at first, it ended up being the perfect amount! We had coconut curried shrimp, fresh cheese with pepper jelly, the OLIVES (omg!) the fried eggplant (which tasted like EGGPLANT, not just like fried batter) the mac and cheese, and cinnamon sweet potato fries. Everything was fresh and delicious! For dessert we split the angelhair rice pudding, based on the waitresses suggestion, and we were NOT disappointed. The waitress was exceptional, she checked in with us often, but not too much, our water glasses were never empty. The owner was present the entire evening and made his way to every table to chat and see how everyone was doing. The bathrooms are beautiful - which I think is a representation of a business as a whole (attention to detail!) We were even offered a complimentary tasting of the white port wine - which was a great way to end a great meal! We sat and talked for a while after we settled the bill, and never felt rushed, even on a busy friday night! Our bill, for drinks, appetizers, tapas, and dessert for 4 people came to under $100! For the great food and exceptional service, I will absolutely return and suggest this restaurant to others! Well done, Sangria's, thank you for helping to revitalize downtown Attleboro!

Yesterday my hubby and I along with another couple had dinner at Sangria. Sadly it was not worth all of the hype and truly not Portuguese food served at its best. We ordered 8 tapas which included the fried lulas which was the only one that was really good. The pica pau was soo spicy and it was terrible. The special was bourbon steak tips that were tiny pieces of over cooked meat. Terrible. The three stars were for the ambience. It was nice with a guy single country music on an acoustic guitar. The staff was really great too. Tapas were expensive and I would advise getting the drinks and maybe try an entree unless you like spending over $100 and still feeling hungry.

Traveling back to my hometown is always fun because you can see whats new and what is exactly the same. Sangrias is new for me and, I think good for Attleboro. The downtown has such potential and I would love to see more exotic eateries multiply. The ambiance of Sangria's is great- I poked around and saw their private party room in the back. It has exposed brick, is dark and candle lit for some romance and reminiscent of a wine cellar. If you are named Sangria's and a party of five orders a pitcher of it- you should not take 20 mins to deliver it. ( especially when there is relatively none else in the place) The sangria left much to be desired- the mixture was milky, thick, way too sweet and small for its price. We sampled a lot of tapas and the stuffed peppers were the best yet lacked flavor. The rice, beans and cheese in the half cooked pepper was lacking something. The cheese sticks were made with a VERY STRONG cheese- The flavor was great but not for a "fancy mozzarella stick" may taste better diced in a salad to tone the flavor down. Server could have had more knowledge on the menu and enthusiasm/ warmth. We had a few awkward interactions with the waitstaff. It is however a delight that Attleboro is stepping the foodie game up a notch! Morins is great.. but we need some variety downtown!!!

It has a nice ambiance in the front. However; we were seated in the back in an overly bright room & I felt like we were at the "kids' table". If the food was mind-blowing, I would have looked beyond our table, but the food left me wanting to go somewhere else. All of the herbs were clearly dry and tasted old, not worth the price by any stretch. Our waitress was very attentive. But, with such a lousy food experience, I won't be back.

Top notch local tapas place with a Portuguese flair. The pao de queijo was absolutely delicious as little cheesy bite sized rolls. The vegetais grelhados were a nice complement to our other heavier dishes. The pica pau was an amazing dish of mixed meats with a very spicy and flavorful sauce (be sure to save a couple portuguese rolls to soak this up at the end of your meal!). The presunto mac and cheese was rich and gloriously cheesy with amazing little bites of presunto (which is a bit like prosciutto...but better). We also split a coconut flan - which had a nice consistency, not too rich, not too light, and not too sweet. My old-fashioned and her red sangria were both made with care and delicious. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. They did seem to be a bit over-staffed (the bus boy took each individual plate away as we finished because he had nothing else to do), but that may have been due to the fact we were there for an early Saturday night dinner. I'll definitely be back and I might just ask for a bucket of the pica pau sauce to take home with me this time.

Nice change of pace in Attleboro center. The service is great, staff very friendly. It's cute, cozy and food is great. The drink selection is fabulous. They've got something for everyone- my husband who only want buffalo chicken tenders when go out even like trying new things here. Great addition to the neighborhood!

I'd like to start out by saying that I am super excited that all of these nice restaurants are opening up downtown to help revive it a little bit! I've looked at old pictures of downtown Attleboro, back when all of the storefronts were occupied and people actually spent time there, and found myself wishing for a revival of the sad, lonely looking town center. Sangria's is just what the doctor ordered!!! I went on Wednesday night just to meet a friend for drinks, and was so impressed by how nice the place was and how delicious the menu looked that I came back for dinner the following night! The place is a little bit dressy, so don't show up in a baseball hat and a t-shirt... but I thought that was a refreshing change from the usual Attleboro restaurant. All of the service I've experienced so far has been very friendly and helpful, and the interior decor is very warm and elegant. So my first thought upon looking at the menu was "Well... they named the place Sangria's, so that means I absolutely have to try their sangria!" I ordered a glass of the red, and ohmygod was it good! I will even go as far as saying it was -almost- as good as my sangria! Definitely the best sangria I've ordered at a restaurant! It's served in a very large glass with not too much ice, for $6! You can also order a pitcher for $19. Score! My friend and I ordered 5 tapas plates for the two of us, and it was definitely more than enough. We ordered the fried cheese, which was my favorite, the chickpeas, which was also awesome, brown sugar sweet potatoes, which were basically sweet potato fries but were really yummy anyway, the spicy ahi tuna, and a meat one with chicken, pork, beef, and chirico. I must say we weren't big fans of the meat plate. All of the meat seemed either really dry or really fatty, and we didn't end up eating very much of it. All of the other dishes we nearly finished, and left feeling like we could explode. The best part? All of that food plus a pitcher of sangria came out to $55! Not bad at all for a classy dinner and drinks for two!!! At the end of the meal, we were given a complimentary sample of white port, which I was not a huge fan of, but it was a nice gesture nevertheless. I generally don't like port because it's too sweet and syrupy for me, so I think that was more of a personal preference than a criticism. Definitely need to come back here with the boyfriend so we can try some of the more adventurous stuff on the menu like quail and rabbit, since I couldn't manage to talk my friend into trying them. Considering this place is only a mile and a half from my house, I'm sure I'll be returning sooner rather than later!

I definitely dig tapas and this place does it right. We went with a big group, ended up ordering about two tapas each and we enjoyed them all. Overall really positive experience and will be back. My only gripe would be the size of the menu. I know some people like to have options but I prefer a more limited menu; again not a real complaint just a personal preference.

As an avid lover of tapas, and trying as many things off a menu as I possibly can, I was thrilled to find a place opening up close to where I spend a majority of my time. I can't say that there is too much going on in Attleboro that I pay attention to, but a independent Tapas restaurant? All about it! After learning of its opening, on Monday my first day off, I jumped at the chance to go. The idea of having someplace awesome less than 10 minutes from my house that was open on the only share day off myself and the Boy have was more than enough reason to head over. We walked in, were promptly greeted, said we were heading to the bar, then waited a few seconds for the hostess to rustle up some menus to give us to bring to the bar, which was a little odd, but whatever. Bartender greeted us, gave us some time to peruse and made us some drinks. (Yay they have St. Germain!) The menu is quite extensive. They have Tours (of Spain, Portugal, Vegetarian, etc) salads, soups, sandwiches, 3 pages of straight tapas, and then some entrees. The tapas are broken down in a great way (Starches/veggies/fish/meats). I told the Boy we would just start with 4 and then see what happens. Soo....we started with 7! We had the Brazilian cheese stuffed bread (cheesey, crispy, salty, delicious!), rice with red beans and...saffron?, chickpeas with spinach and chourizo (hearty and filling!), shrimp and potato pastries (awesome flavor, great consistency), Chicken with spicy peppers in a curry broth (i hate curry, but was OK with this, and the peppers were a great touch), the mushrooms (good variety, but not a ton of flavor), and pork belly over grilled oranges (surprisingly overcooked and dry, but an interesting pairing with the orange). Overall the food was really good, including this interesting dessert made of angel hair pasta. You should try it sight unseen BECAUSE it sounds weird, but its incredibly good! Service from both bartenders was really great as well, personable, knowledgeable. Really gave great suggestions, and were apologetic about being out of a few items due to the crazy busy opening weekend. The owner AJ was also walking around, and introduced and welcomed us, which was a nice touch. As was the complimentary Offley White Port to finish our stay. Usually I enjoy driving out of my way to make sure I have awesome food and service, but with Sangria's being right around the corner, I feel my options for Monday Date Night will be much easier to choose from. I also fully expect this to become a 5 star place!

I discovered this restaurant after a thorough Yelp search because my friend was working in Pawtucket for the week, and since I live in Providence RI, we decided to meet up for dinner during a weeknight. We ended up going with my fiance, so it was a nice place to catch up because the ambiance inside the restaurant was nice. We ended up discovering the availability of a Groupon which had two different options: one for two people and one for four people. We decided to get the one for two people which included the option of getting two soups or salads, a choice of 4 tapas, and one dessert to share which came to $39 for two people. We ended up ordering an additional salad and one more tapa, so that included two salads one soup, 5 tapas, a pitcher of white sangria for $21 and one dessert. The bill came to about $100 for three of us. When you add in the Groupon it averaged $35/person. The food was definitely ok, but I would definitely go there for the atmosphere and the ambiance. We literally sat and talked there for about 3 hours! So, the food was just ok...and without the purchase of the Groupon, I would not find myself going back there again.

I really debated whether to give Sangria's that fifth star or not, but ultimately had to hold back. I went there last night with three friends for tapas and, of course, sangria. Hmm...how to do this methodically... The Bad -The tapa of three Portuguese sausages was terrible, honestly. The closest thing to good was the lightest-colored one, but even that felt very breaded strangely. If I had taken a blind taste test of it, I would have guessed it was some meat version of a clam cake. Also, watch out for the blood sausage. -The tapa of the curry chicken was very weak. I'm not sure if they just didn't want to alienate anyone who can't handle stronger curry flavors, but this seriously was among the mildest curries I have ever tasted. Perhaps they could offer multiple strength levels? The Good -The mac'n cheese tapa was a knockout! Totally an unexpected hit. Our table devoured it like rabid dogs. It's that good. -The mixed marinated meats tapa, I think it was called something like Pica-Pau, was incredible! Definitely the best of the meats we ordered. -The sangria was fantastic. The four of us swilled down two pitchers. The clarify of it was murkier than most I've had before. Not sure what caused that, but maybe it's some ingredient that contributed to the magic. -The olives! Oh the olives! Olive fans like me cannot pass up that tapa! It seriously must have included a hundred of them! The Bottom Line The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was classy but comfortable, the parking was readily available just across the street, and the prices were acceptable for the quality and quantity we received. Also, I liked that the manager visited us two or three times, not suspiciously but just cordially and happily. He seemed very proud of his restaurant and he should be.

A friend and I came here a bit back on a Saturday night because we were in the mood for some drinks and tasty eats. I had heard some good reviews and she said that she had never had tapas so off we went. I have been to a few U.S. places for tapas as well as having experienced real Spanish tapas so, I will admit that I was setting the bar pretty high. Upon entering, we were delighted to find that there was live music that night! The musician seemed to have quite a following and people were really enjoying his smooth guitar. The lighting was dim, the music was sultry, couples were canoodling, and then my attention was diverted...to the massive TVs above the bar! Talk about a mismatched atmosphere. Our waitress was timely, friendly, and also patient as we deliberated over what we wanted to eat. To share, we ordered the Batata Doce Frita (sweet potato fries), Cogumelos Salteados (assorted mushrooms with some spices), Empanadas De Atum (tuna empanadas), and some hummus and chips to balance it out. Firstly, this was WAY too much food for two people! The sweet potato fries seemed endless, and while I love me some sweet potato, it is possible to have too much of a good thing. The mushrooms were flavorful and probably our favorite selection. My friend was also a big fan of the tuna empanadas, which I thought were okay but nothing too special. The coating was a bit heavy and too crispy for my taste, and the mango salsa they came with was much more exciting in my opinion. The chips that came with the hummus were pretty dang good though! And, of course, we ordered our sangria. We went with the house white which was pretty good. I wanted to love Sangria's, I really did. Next time I'll mix up my choices (since they do offer a lot!) in the hope that I find something that really sticks out to me.

Very solid restaurant in downtown Attleboro - I am thrilled! I met a girlfriend for dinner last week and really enjoyed everything we ate. My absolute favorite was the Curry Chicken. It had peppadew peppers and was very tasty without the sauce being way too strong. We also had garlic sauteed shrimp, marinated olives, macaroni and cheese, and hummus with pita chips. Everything we ate was very, very good. The pita chips were definitely not low fat but OMG, they were delish. We also had some chocolate mousse for dessert and it was great! Visually it is a very pleasing atmosphere. Hip, yet relaxed and comfortable. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. Really, I did not have anything negative to say about our experience, which is a fairly uncommon thing. haha. I did not give 5 stars because I reserve that for food and experiences that truly blow me out of the water but I felt Sangria's was definitely a solid 4 star. I look forward to going back and trying additional tapas. I will definitely be returning!

The first time my friend and I came here was an overall pretty good experience. We ordered the Portuguese passion sangria, which was delicious, fresh, and bright. We also ordered some tapas, which I have mixed reviews for. The hummus and pita plate is very tasty and satisfying. I was expecting something somewhat exciting when I ordered the descriptively seasoned "Batatas Fritas" (fried potatoes). I was disappointed when plain, unseasoned french fries came out. The tapa with mixed meats and vegetables was underseasoned as well, and the meat was on the dry and tough side. Our second visit went downhill. Upon entering the mostly empty restaurant on a Saturday evening, the waitress awkwardly put the decision-making on us about where we should be seated. It was drawn out and uncomfortable. We ordered some tapas, one of which were the seemingly enticing meat stuffed pastries. I am not a picky eater by any means but these were inedible. The beef resembled taco bell meat texture and the flavor was offensive. I could not take a second bite. About 10 minutes after we paid the check, a younger male waiter was clearly trying to rush us out as we were finishing our glasses of sangria. I will not return here. One star is for the hummus and pitas. The other star is for the sangria.

My wife and I returned to Sangria's for lunch -- our first time back in four months. I am upgrading my review from three stars to four based on this recent experience. We returned after hearing that the restaurant now serves tapas for lunch as well as dinner. On our prior lunch visit we were disappointed that tapas were served only for dinner. We were pleased with the several tapas dishes we ordered. I particularly liked the shrimp half-moon pastry. Also tasty was the garlic shrimp dish. My wife enjoyed her olive appetizer, mixed vegetable tapas plate, and meat pies. I am pleased to report that the restaurant also improved their version of Caeser salad from our first visit. For dessert we ordered an interesting sweet angel-hair based confection, which I recommend, and an o.k. chocolate mousse. Overall, Sangria's has improved meaningfully from just four months ago.

First, the best sangria I believe I've ever had. No exaggeration at all! The food was pretty good, we did the Tour of Spain which had some nice variety. Decor and ambiance was spot on. Loved the music and the lighting. Our server was upbeat and attentive- it really seems like they have a team effort going on there which is WELCOME to downtown Attleboro. Being a life long resident, FINALLY there is a reason for me to stay in town for dinner and drinks. I wish only the best fortune and success to Sangria's and hope that their success attracts more quality businesses to downtown Attleboro. Other perk: free valet and a manager/ owner who clearly takes a lot of pride in his restaurant. He came to the table to check in on us and was open for our opinions on the food and restaurant in general. PS The angel hair (yes as in the pasta) DESSERT was unreal. A must try.

This is within walking distance of our apartment... as someone who loves to find gems and is very picky about finding coal... this is on the 'diamond in the rough' list. I agree with the post that stated 'take care of your customers'. They REALLY should have comped the drink! Anyway, I digress... kudos for the best hamburger my husband EVERY had! Our food was amazing! We had the tapas 'explained' to us, which was cool. Would have been easier to read the menu if there had been some lighting at our table. Candles? It was VERY dark. We had to flag down the waitress once and were disappointed that we had to smell smoke from the valet on our way inside. All in all, we will be back... several times. Stay tuned!

The restaurant was clean and had a trendy but friendly atmosphere. I had reserved a table and it was refreshing to see that they had actually set a table aside for us with a "Reserved" sign on it. The waitress, Michelle, was very attentive and did an excellent job making sure that drinks were refilled and no empty plate was left on the table. The real reason for only the three stars was the quality of the food. The cheese plate was mediocre, although the fig jelly and sliced hot pepper were a nice touch. The "spicy tuna" empanadas were bland at best. The peppers stuffed with beans and roasted with a melted cheese topping could have been seasoned to add some taste to them. The fried eggplant had a firm texture, which was a good thing, but overall the crust was very bland and nothing special at all. The three sausage tappas was a big flop. The blood sausage was way too minerally. The chorizo was very tough and overly spiced. The best thing was the pork belly. Tender. Moist. Well seasoned. Overall, my experience was good and it's fantastic that this style restaurant is available in an area that is mostly pizza parlors and generic chinese restaurants. The owner/manager came by the table to ask us if we were enjoying ourselves, which is always a good sign. I wish them the best success, but there is another tappas restaurant an equal distance from home that the quality of food is far superior. More attention to the quality coming out of the kitchen will insure a better rating.

Excellent food, excellent service! I had my doubts about going here, downtown Attleboro isn't exactly a *hot* spot for fine dining, but boy was I surprised. My wife and I stopped there after using Yelp to find a local "date night" restaurant and we couldn't have chosen better. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, ready to answer any and all questions about their extensive menu. There's a nice selection of Spanish and Portuguese tapas dishes available. We tried a handful of dishes and were pleased with all of them, the shrimp and mac'n'cheese were especially good. I had the Caldo Verde soup as well, it was okay, nothing special, a bit too bland for my tastes. The atmosphere is pleasant and upscale. Love the dishware! As I said the location is not exactly ideal, but complimentary valet parking helped. A very nice dining experience, we'll go here again.

Wonderful tapas restaurant; you will forget your in Attleboro. Great service and atmosphere. The tapas are priced well and delicious. There is a unique mix both Spanish and Portuguese tapas on the menu. You will not be disappointed if you try sangrias. My only complaint is that the portions are bit larger than I'm used to for tapas and we actually had to bring food home because we were stuffed.

Greeted warmly at the door, asked if high tables/seats were okay(they had both high and regular) available. The waitress came over an introduced herself almost immediately, the busboy brought water and bread right after. The waitress asked if we had been before and explained the tapas menu and gave us specials. There was so much I wanted to try, I settled on the ahi tuna special and a three meat soup type dish, both were fantastic. I had the angel hair dessert, which was surprisingly delicious. At the end of the meal we recieved complementary white port shots, which was very nice and a tasty way to end the meal.

Great new tapas bar in downtown Attleboro! It's great to finally see downtown starting to live up to its potential. My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday evening and had dinner and drinks at the bar. Great selection of tapas, plus some sandwiches (around $7 to $12) and entrees ($15-$28ish). They were really busy, but it didn't seem out of control at all. The bartender was very attentive as was the man who i presumed to be the owner who was walking around and talking to everyone. Similar to the review that the previous reviewer gave, this place is good... and i don't mean "good for Attleboro," i mean really good. I often find myself saying "yeah... it was ok... i mean, it's attleboro, so what do you really expect" after visiting other local restaurants. This one is different. Chill vibe. Slightly more sophisticated crowd. Good service. Great food. Really great drinks. This place would be just as fantastic if it were in Providence or Boston. As a side note... they had the most amazing desert I've EVER had... seriously. Something they called a "port wine cake". It was more like flan in consistency, but was soaked in yummy port sauce. Simply to die for. We were told that all of the desert recipes came from the owner's grandmother. YUM!

This place is one of the most upscale restaurant's in Attleboro. It's up there with the Blackington Inn. The food is great and the owner's care about the customer service they provide. Check this place out you'll love it I'm sure.

This is a great little tapas restaurant, nice modern interior and quite seating options. The food was great, we went a few months back with family and ordered just about every "small plate" option on the menu. All were great, lots of flavors and plenty to share with the whole group. The mac and cheese was my favorite and although it's called Sangria's I would not recommend the Sangria. For me it was just way too sweet but there is a plethora of other options. They often have live bands on the weekends and although it's a small bar/restaurant the live bands bring in a new crowd of people to socialize with and it gives it that "fun" atmosphere for all to enjoy. I've been twice with the live bands and both were excellent and friendly to all customers. I will definitely be going back here again and again, and for little o' Attleboro it's a yummy local option for a date or a night out.

Absolutely LOVED this place! Great place for a girls night or a fun date! Really yummy sangria and every dish we got to try was so delicious! The manager/owner always comes around and is super friendly. I would just make reservations because it gets a busy on Fridays & Saturdays. I can't wait to go back!

Had dinner at this restaurant with my daughter recently. The service was good, however, the food was not. Ordered Paella and it was totally tasteless. The Chourizo was so tough you couldn't chew it, and the chicken was dry, tough, and stringy. Daughter ordered curry coconut chicken, and while the sauce was delicious, the chicken was, again, dry, tough, and stringy. How does one make chicken tough? Very expensive and not worth a second visit.

ALSO being portuguese, i thought this place was absolutely delicious. Anyone who doesn't know the meaning of a "tapas" restaurant would not know the portions are small and usually range from about $3-sometimes $50, AND you are supposed to order atleast 4 tapas plates per 2 people, (or less if you ordering entrees). My friend and I went this past weekend and ordered a pitcher of sangria, the farinheira, two orders of the presunto mac and cheese, and the entree carne porco alentejana, then for dessert we both had the rice pudding. i was impressed with our bill being under $80. So anyone saying it is over priced, is out of their mind. I have been to quite a few tapas places from rhode island, mass, to all the way over in LA. Sangrias by far, between the service, quality of food, authenticity of their food selections, and incredible atmosphere blew me away. Most of the recipes on here even reminded me of my grandmothers, EVEN great great grandmothers recipes whom derived from Portugal and Mozambique. On a side note to "Courtney A.", You clearly need to brush up on your portuguese food pallet and realize this place is one of the best things to happen to this town. Thank you Sangrias for having the most delicious foods, and beverages. Your sangria is better than any chain restaurant or high end restaurant i've ever been to. I recommend the "Portuguese Passion" Sangria pitcher. It's sweet and packs a punch.

Went to Sangrias for a girls night out on a Thursday. Place was crowded but we got seated right away. Absolutely beautiful inside with a very cool, cosmopolitan vibe. Loved what they did in there. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. The menu was extensive, but out of the four of us in our party, two of the gals were told their menu choices weren't available. This is a kink that definitely needs to be worked out. It would also be extremely helpful if a menu was placed online. We ordered sangrias and I found the portion generous and they tasted great. Overall, we had a lovely time and will go back, but I do hope they work out the menu kinks over the next few months. The server did mention to us that they are revamping the menu, so hopefully they are headed in that direction.

Very nice bar, with awesome sangria's. Hence the name of the place its what their known for. They do the tapa's which is a menu full of app sized orders of all kinds of foods. They do have some entree's on the menu if you want a full meal. Parking is street, and a small lot across the street. I wish this place well, they did a great job with the building and the whole vibe of the area.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, very modern. I had the white sangria which was good. We tried the kale & chorizo soup which had lots of flavor but the chorizo had a very chewy skins which I personally don't like. I ordered the specialty burger ( cooked medium) and it came out well done after I was told it was sent back as it was rare.... My husband had the chorizo sandwich, which was the same as the soup chorizo and he said the sandwich was VERY dry.

I was really looking forward to support a new local restaurant in Attleboro so after attending he Attleboro Arts Museums annual action last night I suggested we walk across the street and try it out. What a DiSAPPOINTMENT. I have never tasted such bland awful food! Portuguese food is supposed to have some kick to it. This had absolutely no flavor. We ordered the chick peas which were OK. Then the stuffed peppers. Rice and beans with cheese. The peppers were not cooked enough and the filling was tasteless. Next we split the Paella. You would think this would be a signature dish. We found it to be uneatable. We ate about a fourth of it (even the lobster tail was tasteless) and left the rest. Our server, the bartender, should have seen that we didn't eat much and should have asked us if something was wrong. But she just picked up the plate and scraped the food into the garbage right there at the bar! Very unappealing. She was pleasant enough but sloppy. At one point my husband and I got sprayed by her hands when she was washing something at the sink. Yuck. Even the bread had no taste. The place is too loud and the food is simply terrible. What a waste of money.

Excellent food and very friendly staff. An hour wait when my wife and I got there, but it was about 7:30 on a Saturday, so not surprising. It was very worth the wait. Between the two of us, we had 5 tapas dishes. It was a good amount of food. We weren't stuffed, but we didn't leave hungry. The eggplant was very good. Even my wife, who's never had eggplant, and had convinced herself she wouldn't like it, now wants me to make it at home. The quail was yummy, although a little difficult to eat, as it was like a very tiny half chicken. I had a dessert called Aletria, which is a portuguese sweet vermicelli desert. It was very good, but the best way to describe it for those who've never had it, it's like if Jell-O, rice pudding, and flan had a 3-way and made a baby. It was pretty inexpensive as well, especially for the quality of the food. For our 5 dishes, 2 chalices of house sangria (red and white), a cocktail, and dessert, was under $65. Heck, we can spend that much at the 99's easy. Overall, we were both very happy with the whole experience, and can't wait to come back with our friends.

With my newly-minted Elite '12 credentials in mind, I was feeling Yelp-y and visited the brand new Sangria's in downtown Attleboro tonight. It was great. Sangria's bills itself as "tapas & wine" but also had a healthy amount of entrees beyond tapas and a pretty cool cocktail menu. I'm fairly sure this was their first weekend open and I was impressed with how smoothly things are going. It was busy but not hectic, and the food was all around very well prepared and came out quickly. The ambiance was excellent. It's a really nicely re-done old building. The bar was gorgeous. Great lighting, cool backsplash, very...get this...hip. Not "hip for Attleboro". Just plain hip. A nice change of pace. The menu was large. It was a little overwhelming. It's mainly Portuguese and Portuguese-inspired, with some Spanish mixed in. Most of the dish names are in Portuguese...which was tough for me...but the waiter was very helpful. We decided to go with entrees instead of tapas. We got a cheese platter as an app. The cheese was very good. We were playing the usual game of "guess that cheese" and we asked the waiter what the cheeses were. Turned out they were all Portuguese cheeses, but he/we couldn't get it straight which ones were which. Oh well. He was young and new and unfamiliar with everything on the massive menu. He tried. Definite A+ for effort. The negative on the cheese tray was that while it had some of the usual accouterments, the crackers were obviously Pepperidge Farm. I'd suggest they upgrade that. The cheese is great...why ruin it with butterfly crackers? It's an easy fix. Still a B+ on the cheese platter. Our meals were good. She had a garlic/wine pork tenderloin that was very tender and served on a fresh Portuguese sweet roll and served with hand cut fries. Yummy. I had a seafood special which was tilapia topped with prosciutto, gorgonzola, and walnuts, over a pineapple/coconut/jalapeno rice and some sort of wine reduction sauce. It was very good. We both had a glass of Sangria...a red and a white. Both were very good. We didn't have room for dessert, but we were offered port wine as a digestif on the house, which was a nice touch. The prices were reasonable, ranging from very low to fairly high. Her sandwich- $7, my special- $22 (I was a little surprised, but whatever...I just probably would have gotten the $25 paella that I chose to avoid this time...oh well). So great to see another new restaurant in this area. Sangria's is serving interesting food, has a really cool atmosphere, and gets bonus points for actually being ready to roll with a busy crowd on their first big weekend! Good work, Sangria's. I look forward to returning.

We went on a Tuesday night. Very quiet but night to get out. I was torn between 3-4 stars and will likely go back again to solidify my rating. We were greeted very warmly by the host/owner (I think he was the owner or manager). Very friendly and easy going. As you enter the bar takes up a large portion of the front of the room but there are cutie high tops off to the left - we sat here. Sangria - outstanding! Truly wonderful I also go the Caipirinha -"The National Cocktail of Brazil" - Fresh limes, sugar & Cachaça This drink I actually sent back. I am so embarrassed to do this but it was like drinking liquid cold medicine. Perhaps just my tastes but I really don't think it's supposed to taste like that. I'm really sorry!! Because my review is a couple of weeks late, I don't remember our servers name but she was very pleasant and friendly. I think she may have been new and a bit cautious but I think with time and a little confidence she'll be great. FOOD: here is where I struggle. Decent sized menu and we ordered 5 or 6 tapas dishes. Honestly, they lacked in presentation and taste. The best think was the Queijo Frito, which was representative of a mozzarella sticks in a different shape. I'd recommend a unique sauce to dip it in maybe. Batata Doce Frita - sweet potato fries. Not a fan at all. They were dry (probably because of the cinnamon). The manager was SO excited about his frosting dip for these that he brought us a sample. This was not on the menu nor offered. It was really good and helped the dish out a lot. But perhaps offer it as a dessert? Misto De Grão De Bico - chickpeas and spinach. I love both ingredients. Whatever was going on with this dish - it didn't work. The spinach was bitter and the chickpeas were bland and didn't compliment the dish. Probably has potential. Lulas Fritas - fried calamari - YUM! Pica-Pau - too much pork. Neither of us really liked this. Sort of bland though the meats were very tender. So this is why I struggled with giving it a 4. That said, again, the manager/owner was incredible. He made us feel like we were 'regulars'. Offered us a taste of his frosting sauce, gave us an aperitif drink and had us try his new fall martini (I'm not remembering the name but it was creamy and very fall appropriate) drink that he was still working on . Seriously, it was unbelievable. So I give this place a 4 for ambiance, the staff and service and for the potential of the food. The 3 comes because I just didn't find the food all that stellar. I've been to many tapas places and the food didn't compare. I will definitely be back to give his another shot! I have also recommended it to others because of the many upsides.

First, props to the owners - they did a great job of renovating the space and the opening of Sangria's helps fuel the redevelopment of our downtown area. Thank you! Now, for the candid review. We ordered tapas. The garlic shrimp was good, the the grilled veggies were OK (I don't like summer squash or zucchini which was unfortunately 80% of the dish) and the "serrano like" ham was just little piles of prosciutto on a plate. The bread, useful for the ham and mopping up the garlicky shrimp butter, tasted a little stale, the accompanying honey-pepper butter tasted cheesy and a bit strange, and sadly the sangria had an overly sweet taste and very little fruit. We ordered an angel hair pasta rice pudding desert which was cold and tasted like it had been stored next to green peppers in the fridge. I did hear someone raving about a burger and the sea bass at a nearby table looked yummy. What really killed the meal for us was we arrived on a Friday around 6 and the place was not full but the servers (they seem to use a tag team system) asked us twice within 5 minutes if we were done. Then it asking if we wanted to take it with us, clearing the plates... We were sitting at a high table in the bar area enjoying a pitcher of sangria and noshing on tapas at a not inexpensive restaurant that had no wait - open tables - and felt like we were being rushed. The bottom line is since it is a couple miles from our house we will probably go again but we were a little disappointed with our first foray.

I would say the reviews of this place are spot on. The red sangria was a must have on your visit here. Tried two tapas plates. The bell peppers were very flavorful but I would have liked the peppers to have been roasted a bit more. The meat plate was tasty but the meat was a bit dry and fatty. Had the paella which was saffron infused. Too bad the spice/heat did not allow the saffron to come thru. The seafood appeared to be steamed and was somewhat bland. The staff was great and management and I think the owner were very attentive and represented their business well. Hats off to them for bringing this place to Attleboro. The room is very comfortable and it has a nice vibe to it. People seemed to really being enjoying themselves. We will no doubt be back and sample many more items off the tapas menu and of course hit the sangria again! I would suggest ordering 4-6 tapas plates and ask for them to be served two at a time. Give this place shot. Bet you will like it.

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary last weekend We made a reservation at Sangria's in Attleboro for Saturday night Great decision We had a pitcher of Sangria and five tapas dishes. Everything was perfect. To start we had two bread based dishes... One tossed w cheese and sausage, the other with cheese and spicy (really spicy) tomato relish.... They were great. We then had steak tips, and 2 veggie plates... Awesome Add dessert and espresso and the meal was perfect. Our waitress was great.... There when we needed her, and never rushing us.

We have been to Sangria's twice and we are in love! We have the same strategy every time when it comes to the menu. Two "starter" tapas and two "main" tapas. The Queijo no Forno is my favorite starter hands down. I'm a huge goat cheese fan and this does not disappoint. I also suggest the Pimentinhos À Cabra. I don't like peppers and I could eat a thousand of these. That says something! The first time we went to Sangrias we tried to be adventurous and ended up underwhelmed. So, this time we played it safe and went with the Chouriço sliders. AMAZING. Everyone go to Sangrias just get the sliders and the Quijo no forno. You're welcome.

We gave this place a chance on a whim. The place felt weird from the moment we walked in. I think they are trying to make a casual place seem more up-scale (i.e., having the hostess hold the door as we enter and exit. I understand the politeness, but it threw me off). The music was weird, too. The sangria was good - as it should be. All of the food ... and I mean all of it ... was sub-par at most. I'm a big fan of salty foods, almost to a fault. However, when I go out to eat, I tend to avoid adding salt to my food. Here, it's needed! We felt embarrassed to ask for ketchup with our fries, but it was the only thing that helped us eat them. My husband will eat anything and enjoy it, but here he felt that everything was disappointing. He got the shrimp in a garlic sauce and felt it was bland. I ordered chicken skewers and ate one before my appetite was shot. When I go out to eat, I want to get something that I can't make for myself. Nothing impressed us here - it was all ... ehh. As we left, we commented (to ourselves) that the price of the meal was not worth what you received. More flavor needed in the food!!

Went here with the family for mothers day 2015 and did the tapas thing. They are not usually open on Sundays so we made a rezzie but did not need it because we basically had the whole place to ourselves which was great cos we are that kind of loud portuguese obnoxious family anyways. The ones you sometimes wish you didn't have to sit near. Sorry folks. Classic Portuguese style seafood dishes like Shrimp Mozambique-ish, I personally think it could have been a little spicier, although, I would rather have to ask for it to be made hotter than have it so hot you cant really enjoy it or anything else because you burnt up your palette. We tried the white sangria and it was very tasty and fruity. They do a killer garlic shrimp which is almost the only dish that doesn't have green or red peppers in it. The mussels were spicy and made me order more sangria! nice touch...lol, Of course they keep the bread coming so you can soak up all the juices of all the different dishes...my fav The server was attentive, polite-not pushy and suggested great items for us to try. The desserts didn't disappoint either, everything from coconut flan (yum) to rice pudding (needed more cinnamon for me) and I personally tried something I had never heard of before called a Molotov, I think. It was like a souffle I guess, complete poof cloud of sweet eggy air and I was so full after dinner that I cant even believe I ate the whole thing, but I so did. It was like eating nothing at all! Wonderful! I would definitely suggest this place to anyone who likes to share dishes and loves a little Portuguese edge. I will be back again.

We were very much looking forward to our anniversary dinner here. The atmosphere was nice but set up was a little strange. There are a few tables in the front, the bar is situated in the middle and there is a little section in the back. The tone was set by the subpar service we received. We felt a combination of either being rushed or ignored throughout our meal. The food was, for the most part, mediocre; nothing great and certainly not to write home about. We gave it a chance, but will not be giving it another. Sadly, wish the chance was not given on a special occasion. Not that we expected anything, but when the reservation was made, we were asked if we were celebrating anything. There was no acknowledgement of this. Oh well... Next!!

I wonder if it's possible to leave negative stars? I don't think so.... With that being said the only good thing about this place was the bread and butter. The atmosphere was nice but that is about it. The service is awful. It probably took a waitress about 15 minutes if not more to come take our drink order. It got so bad the hostess had to get our drinks. Now I should mention it was a Saturday night but there were probably 9 people in the restaurant. Including our party of 2. The food was over cooked and "the chefs secret sauce" tasted like a canned soup. My ginger ale had lettuce in and I didn't order anything with lettuce. The dessert was awful. The entire experience was terrible. The manager could offer an entire free meal and I would not go back! Stay away from this place! Oh and it is outrageously over priced for the quality of food.

Never again. Yikes. The server was awful. Attitude like no other. What did I do to you? Slamming plates down just an overall attitude. Got a pitcher of sangria. ($22) reasonable. House white. Came half full. I asked if that was normal. She said yep. Uhmm ok. It was alright. Tasted like oj to be honest. Got 6 tapas all that sucked. By sucked I mean it didn't taste like anything. We need Ketchup and salt to eat it seriously. Never asked if we liked everything. We had a living social voucher. (Thank god) bill was $35 after which is fine but to pay $35 when we barely ate any of the food is not fine. Some one should've asked what was wrong. Needless to say we don't be returning. The vinho verde and red house sangria were both excellent! The tapas were okay. I was unimpressed by the fried eggplant. However, I highly enjoyed the fava bean dish and curry shrimp. The goat cheese stuffed peppadews were divine. The atmosphere - lighting, music, the service - were all very enjoyable. Don't go here if you're looking for a good beer on tap. The house rolls and cinnamon butter were surprisingly delicious! And they serve you complimentary Portuguese shots at the end of dinner - by far one of my favorite things! Overall, I would go back for a glass of the vinho verde and the stuffed peppadews. :)

I love this place!!!! The staff, food and the ambience! I went on a Wednesday evening with my spouse, for our anniversary. Walking in we were greeted by a few staff members, and our hostess seated us promptly. I was excited that there was a diverse crowd of people dining here. The lighting was dim, and very tranquil, a candle adorned each table. The atmosphere was chic and could serve as a romantic date, as the tables were smaller than usual for a more intimate setting. TVs lit up the bar and the restaurant as a whole was clean. Our waitress brought us these amazing freshly baked and lightly toasted dinner rolls with sweet-cinnamon butter. We started off with drinks, and ordered a pitcher of Sangria Tinta (their house red). It was flavorful yet refreshing. By far one of the best sangrias I've ever had the pleasure to indulge in. We actually ended up ordering another pitcher of their house sangria before our night was up. I must say, the wine crept up on me by the time we got our check. For its potency, the pitcher size and price ($21) were very reasonable. As one glass of their house sangria was $7, and per pitcher you'd get at the very least 5 glasses. I couldn't tell you exactly how many glasses per pitcher you'd get, because the waitress was super attentive and would fill your glass often. Clearly the yummy sangrias did it for me lol. As appetizers my spouse ordered steak empanadas (don't remember what they were called according to the menu, but they're little pastries/turnovers, stuffed with steak. I ordered the Lulas Fritas or crispy, buttermilk-batted squid tossed with banana peppers, jalapeños & pepper rings. Both appetizers were satisfying with intense flavor and brought out hot and freshly made. Entrees - my partner got the Paella, which was basically a seafood jambalaya. I ordered the Carne De Porco À Alentejana, pork over roasted potatoes and veggies. The entree portions were generous, but a few bites in we thought to wrap up our plates and save them for later (aka next day's lunch) Of course we had to make room for dessert and had Nutella cheesecake, while I had the flan. My spouse's dessert was a bit too rich for my mood. The flan was perfect, light, fluffy, and had coconut shaving for an added dimension of flavor. With our checks we were asked if we'd care for a complimentary shot (liquor) and of course we obliged! As a new resident to the Attleboro area, I was tastefully pleased with my experience at Sangria's and would recommend it to anyone visiting or already living in the area!

Escape to the Mediterranean at Sangria's. This cozy spot is perfect for a date or to catch up with your BFFs over their sangria (which I didn't get try). The tables in the back are a little dark, so if you want a better visual of what you're eating, sit at the bar or grab a table near the windows. Mom (born and raised in Portugal) and I (having lived in Spain) came here to see how the food compared to the mother countries. We were impressed! I sipped on a pineapple Sumol (our people's version of soda) as I delved into my tasty Goat Cheese Salad. Mom lapped up her Kale Soup as though she had made it herself. We shared four tapas: Misto De Grão De Bico (Sautéed chick-peas with chouriço, tomatoes, fresh spinach & white wine, Pasteis De Bacalhau (Crispy fried cod-fish quenelles, served over mesclun greens) Camarão Alhinho (Pan-seared shrimp, braised in a rich roasted garlic & white wine butter sauce) and the Chouriço sliders (Mini-sized sandwiches made with flame-grilled traditional Portuguese sausage & caramelized onions topped with a horseradish mayonnaise.) I couldn't stop dipping my bread in Camarão Alhinho and Misto De Grão De Bico broths. The dishes were full of flavor and delicious. One bite of my Chourico slider had me swooning. The Pasteis De Bacalhau were good, but not as good as Mom's. That's the only item I wouldn't order again. If you're Portuguese, you'll understand when I say that the Holy Ghost rejoices when both you and your mother agree on something. We both concurred that their Chocolate Mousse is the best chocolate mousse we've ever had in our lives. Decadent, thick, rich, velvety - it's everything chocolate mousse should be and pairs well with their cappuccinos. If you're not into Mediterranean dishes, come here at the very least for their dessert. Service was excellent! I'm looking forward to coming again and trying their sangria!

I've come into Sangrias multiple times before and the food is always fantastic. Tonight was no different. Mac and Cheese and the Lulas Fritas was on point. Although the service tonight was less than fabulous. The bartender was too busy cleaning up than to ask us if we needed anything when our food was dropped. Bread came, after being asked twice after our first course. $10 Espresso Martinis had hardly any vodka-and when asked to make them stronger, she simply topped them off with vodka without shaking followed by a snooty remark. It seemed that she was more interested in washing what seemed to be the entire restaurants supply of glasses and bar mats included rather than focus on her FEW bar customers. And not to mention we weren't there late...on a Thursday.

This is a nice little place for a date night. The food was good, the sangria was wonderful. We had the meatballs, shrimp in curry and coconut sauce and the Portuguese rice. Of course the tapas was small, wishing there was more. The Portuguese rice was great but was small for an entrée. We could have had an extra serving of that. This was a nice place and the selection of sangrias looked great. Will be back

After going to Sangria's once, we loved it. The owner was there and greeted every table, and also offered us a glass of port at the end of the meal. This time was much different. 1) it took us 20 minutes to get our pitcher of Sangria, with an explanation that they had to chop the fruit... this turned out to be 3 chinks of apple and one chunk of orange. 2)They delivered the wrong appetizer, and when corrected, did not bring side plates or bread. 3) We did not see the waitress again for another 20 minutes until our overcooked, fishy entree was delivered. the seafood was not fresh in the paella, and was also overcooked. The rice was watery and under seasoned. 4) We finished our drinks and were never offered another drink (keeping in mind she only had two other tables, a 2 top and a 4 top) 5) After getting tired of waiting, we had to flag down the manager for a check, where it took another 10-15 minutes to actually get the check. 6) As we were leaving, we overheard the table next to us give a list of issues they had. We were extremely disappointed, especially since we have been recommending this spot to all of our friends.

Food was average. Also, I ordered a drink, took one sip and didn't like it. Asked for something else in exchange. When we received the bill.. they still charged us for the drink we returned. The waitress never told us that she wouldn't be removing it. When we asked her if she could, she said: "once it's poured, you are charged". Unacceptable. If that is true (which is absurd), we should've been informed before hand. I would've added sugar to the $10 drink.. also a not so appealing area. Don't waste your time.

Well as an Attleboro native I love seeing all these new restaurants popping up! Went to Sangrias last week and it was decent. The interior was a lot nicer than I thought it would be. Looks great, very trendy. The pitcher of Sangria was prettty small I thought but was good. I was impressed with the variety of menu items and would like to try more tapas when I go back.... The tapas we tried were all okay. Nothing really stuck out as amazingggg. The service was slow and I'm not sure why. There seeemed to be a lot of staff, only two tables and we waited 15 mins for water or someone to even awknowledge us. Once they did service was great so maybe there was just miscommunication amongst servers. I'd like to try again but hope for a better experience.

One of our favorite places to eat. Top quality ingredients and friendly staff. We've been many times and it is not out of the ordinary for the manager to stop by the table to check in on us. Once he even recommended a drink to us and provided us with a free sample. We are huge fans!

Went here for our first date night of the year 2014. Service was great, our server was very pleasant, stopping by frequenty to ask if we needed anything. We used our groupon $39 which include 2 salads, 4 tapas, 1 dessert. Everything we ordered was great except for the chicken skewers which we thought was bland. The pitcher of sangria was really good too.

The only reason this restaurant gets 2 stars instead of 1 is the fact that they carded me and made my night. The meal didn't start out terribly. I had a fried goat cheese salad and my husband had a kale soup and they were decent. It went downhill quickly from there. We ordered the stuffed bell peppers and they were so bland, like blander than a recipe at a pampered chef party. You know what I'm talking about. The shrimp mosambiq was gross. It was also flavorless and, while I expected head on shrimp, they weren't deveined. I was scraping shrimp feces out onto my plate, so yeah. We also had sangria and thank goodness because I was able to laugh off my meal and warn people, who were complaining that they hadn't been seated 30 past their reservation, that they were better off eating at the place next door....and I have never eaten there.

A few weeks ago I popped into an Attleboro restaurant I had received a recommendation on. The name alone drew me in, Sangrias Tapas & Wine. Our server Christina was incredibly enthusiastic, knowledgeable and sweet. We started with the Portuguese Passion: a delicious mix of white riesling, Skyy passion fruit vodka, pineapple juice, passion fruit puree, ginger ale and champagne. Basically pure bliss in a cup. Thank goodness we got a pitcher. From there we ordered the Presunto Mac n Cheese with Gruyère, Havarti, a parmasean sauce and topped with presunto. Heavenly! Next were the Cogumelos Salteados: Sautéed portabella, crimini & shiitake mushrooms finished with thyme & oregano. People either tend to really love mushrooms or be disgusted by them. Of course I have always loved them and these were so light, well-seasoned they were easily a perfect addition to our tapas tasting. Lastly and surely not the least of all dishes, was the Cordornizes a Cabo Verde, or quail. Rubbed with a zesty herb-spiced house blend, it was a delight of succulent morsels, each bite better than the previous. When I go to a restaurant, I do not think merely of the food and drink, but the ambiance, service, decor and a great deal else. Upon entering the women's restroom at Sangria's I found an orchid on the vanity, automatic lights and a no touch trash can (which appeals to the germaphobe in me - yayyy sanitation!) Beyond that, there was also high quality toilet paper - this is a detail a lot of restaurants skimp on, but like the cloth quality yet recyclable handtowels next to the sink, is something a patron appreciates and notes when considering their return. I love this restaurant and plan to return as soon as I am able. For anyone that finds themselves in Attleboro make sure you stop by and let me know how your meal is.

We always enjoy our time at Sangrias. It's still hard to believe it's in downtown Attleboro. We went last night and they greeted us at the door and when we sat at the bar - very friendly. We had the fried eggplant plate, the shrimp cooked with white port, feta, sun dried tomatoes and garlic I believe. It was fantastic. We also got the fries but they weren't as good as previous times. Great food, great atmosphere and service. We will be back again soon I'm sure.

This was our first trip to Sangria's... It won't be our last. The service was great - very friendly. The Sangria the best we ever had. The food fantastic. One of the owners even came to the table to ask how we were doing!

My girlfriend and I went here a few weeks ago on a Thursday night. The place was empty, in retrospect we should of saw that as a sign, found it too dark in the seating area kind of dreary. We were seated by a friendly waiter in a corner. He took our drink orders, he returned with our beers, and quietly whispered in my ear that they had a no hat policy! I was so appalled I wanted to walk out right then and there. I wasn't aware this was a fine dining establishment. We had already been there for a good 20 minutes before he said this to me. I have no problem with not wearing a hat inside but it"s February I'm sorry I forgot to take it off buddy! And not even that how about telling me when I walked in the door? And further more I WAS WEARING A RATTY BRUINS SWEATSHIRT AND JEANS WITH OLD SNEAKERS! So I have to take my hat off? Please. This place is a joke. After this rudeness the food better be good right? Hahaha nope! Not that I'm a professional food critic or anything, but when I'm hungry and have a gift certificate i'll eat anything, but this swill? Come on, seriously? We ordered a few meat pie type of things that were bland and tasteless. I get these frozen out of Shaw's occasionally and there so much better and cheaper. We also ordered some type of squid dish for which the squid was either sitting in a bucket of water for a month in the cooler or were frozen and then refrozen a couple times because they had the consistency of water! So in closing all I can say truthfully is this place is a waste of time and money, Go next door to Scorpio's aside from the young clueless staff the food is awesome

This place is great! A hidden gem in Attleboro. The waitstaff is extremely pleasant and attentive and the manager is a constant presence, circulating among the tables, making sure everyone is having a great time. All of the different sangrias I've tried there are very good, as you'd expect of a place named after a signature drink. I'll definitely go again.

Fabuloso!!!!! Pretty busy place but we were led to the bank room which was quaint, dim lit. The Sangria was very tasty, however the drink menu looked very interesting and I cannot wait to explore more of it next time---Portuguese rice pudding martini made with Rum Chata, cinnamon. Yummy!!!!! We decided to order 2 tapas each(waiter recommendation) which was probably 1-2 too many between the 4 of us girls but we wanted to sample a variety Fresh goat cheese w the pepper jam sauce was spicy but amazing ...so fresh--given with corn bread or pao de trigo. We also had favs, shrimp Mozambique(heads attached), chicken with mushrooms, mixed grille dish, chouricio sliders and empanadas which everything was amazing! The sauces, ingredients were all so fresh. Of course food, drinks quality, taste is very important but the service was great- efficient and answered all out questions. We were excited to try something new out of the hill scene in Providence and sangrias was a great success. Can't wait to go back!!!! .

I always wanted to try Sangria's and bought a Groupon. It expired but I could still use the paid value so My husband and I went on a Thursday night. It was very quiet so we were seated immediately and ordered Sangria which was delicious! One of the best I ever had. We ordered a salad and cheese tapas. Both great! I ordered plank salmon. To die for! I even ordered coconut flan for dessert...homemade and delicious! I would recommend Sangria's to all...great service, great homemade food and a nice atmosphere!

Let me just start by saying this was my first foray into "tapas" and I wasn't too impressed. The place was clean, with a hip decor, and service was excellent. However, I wasn't impressed with the food. We ordered 6 tapas. Queijo Frito, Presunto Mac N' Cheese, Beringela Frita, Camarão Alhinho, Lulas Fritas, and Pica-Pau The breading on the cheese and eggplant made the pieces appear to be previously frozen. The mac&cheese was a bit liquidy. The shrimp had cut shells, but were "peel & eat". A bit messy given the sauce. The calamari included "legs", which I'm ok with, but some people are not. And the Pica-Pau was, other than the chourizo, rather bland. That being said, everything was ok. Just not for me. Maybe I'm just not a tapas guy. I guess I expected better. Unfortunately, I was disappointed.

My friends and I decided to check out Sangria's for the first time. We went for drinks and sat at the bar. Very nice atmosphere, and the bartender was extremely nice and attentive. We then went back several more times, with no complaints. My boyfriend and I went for dinner one night. The food was good, but a little pricey for the quantity/quality. Some of the meat was underdone. Will def go again for the sangria. Not a place I would want to eat dinner at again though.

I am not sure how I missed writing a review for Sangria's because it seriously is 5 stars and people need to know this! Nice location in the Attleboro center with street parking. The place is really nice and classy inside with TVs around the bar and live entertainment on weekends. The great thing about Sangria's (besides the sangria's) are the tapas plates. They're not small tapas plates like you'd get somewhere else, there are plentiful plates which I was not used to. Knowing tapas means small plate, my fiance and I ordered about 6 plates and ended up being overwhelmed with the amount of food we received. Chickpea plate to shrimp, to the beef .. all of them so delicious and obviously the sangria is a must!! Portuguese passion was one of our favorites. Owners, Brothers Carlos and Mario are great to work with. They helped me throw my sisters 30th there on a Sunday afternoon which worked out perfectly. We had a buffet setup and the entire place to ourselves for about 60 people. I would highly recommend grabbing dinner at this place or hosting a small private party here. :)

Went with a group a week ago. We ended up in the private back room which was charming. Our waiter, Marco, was excellent. I had red sangria & it was tasty. I had a fish & egg dish that was quite good. It was dark so I couldn't really tell what was what but it didn't matter. The portion was large. I wanted to split the famous chocolate mousse but everyone was too full. Next time...

The service here might be the best I've ever experienced!!! Right when we hit the door, the manager opened it and greeted us. We walked in and we're seated at a high top table and just wanted a normal one since my mother came along with my wife and I, but there was a 45 minute wait for a regular table. So we just stayed at the high table. A few minutes later the manager came by and told us that a table was going to be opening up and that they could clean it for us if we were interested. Of course, we decided to move tables. When we did make the move the manager made sure everything was moved within one trip, as he helped moved things himself when he could've had his staff do it Even though the service was great I had mixed reviews for the food. We ordered the Tour of Portugal tapas, which came with Rissois de Camarão (shrimp turnovers), Pasteis de Bacalhau (codfish cakes), Cordoniz (quail), and 3 different Potuguese sausages one of them being Chouriço. I don't like pork, so the sausages were out of the picture and I'm really picky about shrimp, so I haven't had tried Rissois de Camarão since I was a kid. I just had the Pasteis de Bacalhau, which was good and I ordered the Frango à Piri Piri (grilled cornish hen), which I was very disappointed in since it barely had any seasoning to it and that's what usually makes it! One of the highlights was the dessert, which was something that was almost like rice pudding, but made with angel hair pasta, which was a little weird at first, but after the first bite I didn't think it was weird anymore. Just for the service of this place alone deserves 5 stars, but of course you can't just rate places on service. The food was good, but only about half of the things we would order again. Being half Portuguese, I know good Portuguese food! The pricing was another issue that I had with Sangria's. Some things were priced appropriately, but for a small Caipirinha (Brazilian cocktail) its $9, which doesn't make any sense because you can pay close to $12 for a bottle of Cachaça (the main ingredient). Next time I go here I will try other things from there menu!
