Great little lunch spot! Stopped in for lunch and the place was packed. The staff was friendly and eager to please. They were super busy but our server greeted us, brought our drinks and took our order quickly. I ordered the Whole BLT and fries. It was pretty good, standard BLT but could use a bit more bacon. The fries were AWESOME! My son ordered a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Cheese only and Fries. It looked and tasted fantastic! The Husband ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries. I wish I had gotten the Burger too, it was delicious and huge! I posted pics of our meal, check them out! Great place, fair amount of food for the price, we'll be back!

The Swamp Rolls were very old & freezer burned. It is bought premade from supplier like Sysco. Not enough ranch dressing for amount of rolls. No smiles from staff. No "thank you, come back." No eye contact from waitress. Bathroom filthy. Commode seat had poop dried on it Light switches filthy. Large trashcan filthy.

8/6/13 A little late to review, but better than never :) Tried this place on a whim. We really should have kept walking down main street and found something else. Over priced bar food is the best way to describe the food. We tried the small seafood sampler as an appetizer. The shrimp was the best part of that menu item, so I ordered the shrimp po-boy thinking they'd use the same fried shrimp. WRONG! The po-boy was rather flavorless and the little tiny shrimp were super chewy and still had pieces of the tail on them; definitely the worst po-boy I've had in LA so far. My husband tried the meat pie. It was interesting - but we could have picked up the same thing at the gas station on the way into town for $10 less. Would not recommend, would not return.

Good Drinks! Good food, good service. It was really a casual place that you could go and enjoy yourself. Wonderful atmosphere.Mama's is attached and I would rate the same. So did Southern Living.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Was disappointed by the muffaletta, the olive mix just tasted like a generic canned version, not freshly made. The beer was cold, but disappointed that there were no LA beers to choose from.

Great tasting po'boy. Friendly service. We came during a lull in everything so the service may have just been good cuz we were the only ones needing service? Either way, we were happy with our food and our service.

Waited 30 minutes to get in. Placed our order and then sat and watched multiple tables that filled after we sat down order, get their food, eat, pay and leave before we got ours. Asked the waitress multiple times about our order. We were told it was being plated. Ten minutes later I asked for the manager and at first was told he was next door if I wanted to speak with him. I insisted he be retrieved. He finally comes in, and then proceeds to argue that we've only been waiting a half hour for our food and that I was incorrect about other tables being seated, ordering and finishing before us. Oddly our food appeared after he went to the kitchen. Everything was cold and half of the orders were wrong. It took almost 15 more minutes for the missing items to be brought and by that point we were almost two hours into this "experience"... Avoid this place and if they can't get their core business (food service) correct be prepared to be told how you are wrong and the management to just shrug and walk off as he heads back next door.

My family visited Papa's Bar and Grill on a Saturday afternoon, shortly after the noon hour. It was busy for the time of day, but there were still several empty tables. Our waitress arrived promptly, taking our drink orders and providing menus. We did not order appetizers, but went straight to the entrees. My daughter ordered the chicken tender appetizer as her meal with a side order of dirty rice. I chose the seafood combo (fried catfish and shrimp) with a stuffed potato. My husband got the "Big C" burger and fries. Unfortunately, neither my husband nor I cared for the food. The catfish tasted as if it had been fried in old oil. The shrimp was over-breaded and tough. My husband's burger tasted as if it were just "food grade" and the fries tasted fishy and were soggy. I did think the stuffed potato was excellent, as was the fried pistolette. My daughter had no complaints on the chicken tenders. The bright point of our visit was the very friendly and attentive staff. Overall, I would not recommend Papa's Bar and Grill. We will select a different restaurant when we return to Natchitoches.

Not a bad spot. It's the sister restaurant to Mommas. A little pricey for bar food, but the staff and quieter atmosphere compared to the other spots on Front St. Makes up for the slightly inflated prices.
