I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED. WOW!!!!!!! Through my undergraduate and graduate school experience, I worked as a server in several restaurants. I have had countless people, during my time as a server, send food back for whatever reason. Tonight was my first time to ever visit this establishment. My daughter's steak was over cooked and sent back. What came next was quite unexpected and perplexing. The owner of the establishment came out from the kitchen ranting, raving and cursing (in front of my children) about the temperature being what we specified. He then told us to get out of his establishment! I am mortified. The food was not as good as I expected, as many have raved about the establishment. No one should ever be treated like this.....EVER!

A true gem in a smaller community, this establishment would easily fit into a major food market such as Atlanta. Food speaks for itself with freshness you can taste. The staff only adds to the flavor of the Restaraunt.... As do the lovely owners who were making sure everything was running smoothly. Made to order dishes are stars of the show and the menu is diverse enough to feed even the pickiest of eaters all the way to a true gourmand. Giving this place 5 stars is like saying Michael Jordan played basketball, a true statement sure... But an understatement most certainly. If your in the area and don't eat here your tastebuds will surely murder you in your sleep.

Came here with some family for a nice dinner. The free garlic bread is a huge plus. We started with chargrilled oysters as well. They were very good, but I think they had a bit too much Worcestershire on them. I had the Pasta Pakenham - Sauteed Fresh Gulf Shrimp with Fresh Artichoke Hearts, thinly shaved Prosciutto & Parmesan in a White Wine Garlic Sauce over Linguini. It was DELICIOUS. And oh so filling! My SO had the baked potato soup special, which was not good at all (we went to Wendy's to get her some nuggets after). My mom had the veal parm, but originally was served chicken parm. They swapped it out, but I don't think they gave her anything in addition for the screwup. My grandparents had oysters and fried seafood, and my brother also had the pasta Pakenham. All in all, I was very satisfied with my meal, but there were a couple screw-ups that cost MeMe's that 4th star. I'd like to go back and give them another chance though.

Delicious!!! They were packed when we got there, but they put a couple tables together for our group of 6. The owner came by several times to talk with us and make sure the food was good. Our waitress was also great! We got incredible garlic bread before our meal and my shrimp scampi was rockin! My coworker got oysters and she ate them faster than I could say oyster. Will be back next time I'm in New Orelans!!!

I venture to Chalmette about once a week for dinner and MeMe's is the "fanciest" restaurant in the Parish and one of the best. The chef, Lincoln Owens, came to MeMe's via Emeril's and Cafe B, so one can expect a level of cooking that you really can't find elsewhere in St. Bernard. The menu is large and has everything from seafood and steaks to Italian dishes. They have different specials on different nights - Thursday is steak night and Friday is Lobster night. The stuffed artichoke soup is delicious if you like stuffed artichokes. They top it with crabmeat for a little lagniappe. The grilled oysters are excellent and the crabcakes are delicious as well. I don't like a lot of bread in my crabcakes and these are light on the bread and full of crab. They bake them which is perfect for me. You can't go wrong with any of the fish dishes. They are always on point. One of my favorite parts about coming to MeMe's is that the owners make you feel like part of the family. They are so friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place I'd recommend.

Phenomenal food, phenomenal service. My boyfriend and I actually had a debate about whether or not our waitress was on cocaine or not because of how energetic , excited and helpful she was. This chick really likes her job and it shows. The food is impeccable and worth every cent. My only regret was not ordering the lobster. We will be back ASAP! Best place I have been in a bit. Excellent ambiance and lighting, perfect temperature, clean and tidy place, fully stocked and clean bathrooms, full bar with an Experienced bartender, not a complaint in Sight!

it's the best restaurant in St. Bernard parish! it's a little pricier than most places in the area but definitely worth it.

This place is awesome! Had a three course meal with drinks and everything was excellent. You can tell the owners care about what they are doing here. One of the owners came by our table to make sure we were satisfied. Lobster night rocks!

I recently went to MeMe's to celebrate my mother's birthday and I must say my first experience there was great! The service was awesome and their $17 filet special was one of the best steaks I've had in recent memory. I did find it to be a bit pricey for a restaurant in St. Bernard, but I do feel like I got what I paid for. Support local business, eat at MeMe's!

I have lived in Da Parish for the past 5 years and worked here the past 10. With that being said, I rarely go out here for dinner, lunch, drinks, or anything. I guess primarily because my kids live in Metairie and I live so close to the city. The other reason being every place was basically the same fried everything. Meme's has that too but a lot more ambitious options as well. I went here for the 1st time today for lunch with my boss since he came in to see me from Houston. I ordered the BBQ Shrimp poboy with garlic fries. The flavor of the sauce was really good as were the garlic fries. The shrimp had a strange batter that left me a little suspicious as to whether or not they were fresh or frozen. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since everyone in Da Parish has shrimp boots, surely they have fresh shrimp. The only other issue is that they put mayo on the sandwich. Why would anyone do that on bbq shrimp? I HATE MAYO! The place is small like Cracker Jack box small but very nice on the inside. THey had real table cloths and cloth napkins! That's huge in Chalmette!! They had a decent sized wine list(how good it is I have 0 idea because I am no expert) They are always running specials like steak night, lobster night, etc. I definitely want to go back and try some other things and write a better review. For now though 3 stars is a good start.

Wasn't sure what to expect in Chalmette with "Bar & Grill" on the outside, but this was fantastic. We had the fried chicken livers, which may have been ground, and were very crisp and coated with a spicy site made "pepper jelly", which I think contained jalapeño, over stone ground grits. The widens not a big dan of chicken livers, and she loved it. We also shared the Pasta Lafitte, which was again fantabulous. Pasta was cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all, and the sauce was perfectly balanced. Very spicy, but didn't hammer you, no where near delicate, but not too heavy. We'll be back for the BBQ shrimp PoBoy!

You HAVE to order garlic bread, the first order is free, which is awesome, plus it's really good. I had the Pasta Pakenham with chicken. The sauce was just right, it wasn't too heavy. Also had charbroiled oysters, they were also delicious. The service was great, friendly wait staff. They accidentally delivered a wrong order, and promptly corrected it without hastle. The price wasn't bad at all, especially for the quality of food and service. I would definitely go again, with family or large groups. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food, except for the potato soup. The veal parm was good, the shrimp on the shrimp and grits were huge and delicious. It has a very mellow atmisphere, it is an upper scale place, but they're very laid back and friendly. If you're looking for a nice place to eat in Chalmette with great people and a friendly wait staff, Meme's is the place to go.

Great little restaurant, with plans to expand. I'm hooked on the Red Fish special item. They change up the dish frequently which always keeps me ordering it. Friendly wait staff and the owner is typically onsite asking how the experience was, which is great to see.

I tried MeMe's for lunch again after a friend insisted I was being too hard on it. This time around, I tried a special they were running with a small filet and garlic mashed potatoes. I also ordered a creamy onion soup du jour. The tables are still crowded together, but as long as it's not super busy, it's not claustrophobic. The waiter we had this time around was very prompt, knew the menu and specials well, and kept our glasses full. He did an excellent job. The food was better this time. The onion soup was fantastic. My steak was cooked to order and well seasoned, and the garlic mashed potatoes were good. My steak came with a small tub of what they identified as béarnaise sauce, but they missed the mark. The not-béarnaise was basically tasteless. In all, it was a good experience--certainly much better than my first time. I felt like I got what I paid for. Again, the food wasn't spectacular overall, and it's nothing I couldn't prepare at home. But it wasn't the tragedy I got on my first go 'round. I wouldn't mind returning to MeMe's if someone really wanted to go, but it's not my first choice.

I ran into the Chef Linkin at the Hideout, he had so much passion about cooking and making the best dishes possible. After hearing his story and how much he puts into his food i wanted to go there soon. On Thursday nights there special is a 7 oz Fillet wit Garlic Mashed Potatoes for $16. When we got there the Hostess was hesitant to seat us, she told us a large party was coming in about 40 - 50 min. We told her we wouldn't lounge around we would eat and go, so she gladly seated us. The space between tables are a little to tight for my Big Butt, but at least the chairs are comfortable. Well anyway while we were waiting for our food we got some yummy garlic bread and could smell some amazing food that made our mouths water. We didn't wait long for our steaks, i like my steaks Med Rare and it was cooked perfect. It came with 2 sauces but after tasting my steak i nearly threw them across the table, it was so perfectly seasoned and cooked it didn't need so stinking sauce. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were just as tasty i really wanted to savor my food that i just inhaled. I was considering ordering another steak to go for lunch. Just then a large group of Prissy woman came in and started complaining. Up till that moment we had the best time. I can't blame the restaurant for being packed as we left, i had to ask a lady to skoot up so i could pass through to leave. Everyone that works there is extremely nice and helpful and i can't wait to go back, next time i want to try the Catfish. Some people might complain about the high prices, but they fail to realize there eating higher quality food that taste amazing, its not diner food. So my only complaint would be the amount of space around the tables.

So we went here after having heard mixed reviews on the restaurant. So here we go: We went to MeMe's on a Friday night. When we walked in, we were surprised to see such a nice restaurant in "da parish." It was a tad crowded though. It is not a large building, so the tables were crammed in there. So we were seated, and we were told our waiter would come in a minute. He came and asked us what drinks we want, and when we said we may get an appetizer, we were told to hold on a minute. He came back later, but we were not ready to order. We took a while trying to decide between different things on the menu. The waiter seemed annoyed, and couldn't care less about us. So in the end, these were our orders (deciding not to get any appetizers): 1. Soup Sampler Trio, Crab Cakes, with a side Caesar Salad. 2. Soup Sampler Trio, Chicken Parmesan, with a side of Garlic Fries. 3. Caesar Salad, Veal T-Bone, sub Mashed Potatoes for Garlic Fries The waiters were nice, but took a very long time. We got the soups and salad fine. Soups were really good. Especially the crab and corn soup. Wonderful. We finally got our entrees after waiting a while. So what went wrong? Where shall I start? 1. 2 Crab Cakes instead of the 3 that the waiter said. The Crab Cakes seemed frozen/pre-made, they were greasy as could be. When I tried to cut them with my fork, grease spewed out of it. They were mediocre at best. I was also given Garlic Fries that I did not order, and no side Caesar. 2. The Chicken Parmesan that came was not a sandwich, but over spaghetti. The waiter says "oh.... sorry..... we have 2, the Chicken Parmesan and the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich". Mind you there was no other option but the sandwich on the menu. No side. The sauce was sweet as could be, like pure tomato paste. The chicken was frozen chicken strips. Terrible. 3. The Veal was flavorless. It was very thick and gray inside... tough. It seemed baked... not grilled. It was served over Mashed Potatoes... the ones that were supposed to be substituted for Garlic Fries. All in all, a very strong 1/5 star. Not recommended at all. Gregory before me got it right. The owners came by our table and asked how everything is. They are extremely nice, and we felt really bad to say that it wasn't good. Because they are extremely nice people. It was also the parish, and we like to support our locals. But the food was just not good.

Tabetha wrote a great review of this place, it is fine dining, the food is off the chart good, yes, it is not cheap but it is VERY good. The filet was around 30 bucks, one of us had shrimp and grits, and we tried each others, they were both VERY good. The bar b q oysters were the best in or around new orleans and we go there fishing every year and I also vacation some in New Orleans, been there many times, so know the cuisine. There were 3 of us, had a couple of beers each, the oysters and all of us had entrees and a couple of side salads...bill was 130, I didn't think that was bad at all for really great food and nice ambiance.

Another review by me! LOL My husband and I chose to go to MeMe's again but this time for our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. Once again we were not let down by the Meme's experience. We had the BBQ shrimp as an appetizer and I had a house salad with ranch. Very flavorful and perfectly cooked BBQ Shrimp. My only complaint is not enough for your money. (you get 5 jumbo prawn shrimp in an order) My salad was nice and fresh and the ranch was homemade unlike most places that serve that Kraft crap. We decided to try the Wednesday night special which is a pasta dinner and side salad for $12.99. The chef's choice of the night was Tequila Shrimp pasta and Cajun Chicken Pasta. I went with the Cajun chicken and it was awesome. It was perfectly balanced with the cream sauce and spice and I must say you get a lot for your money. My husband and I decided to split that and also the veal over alfredo pasta which we had before in the past. Wonderfully seasoned veal fried to perfection over a nice size of alfredo pasta with fresh broccoli tossed in (last time it had fresh asparagus) At the end of the meal the two owners came over and thanked us for returning (they remembered us from our last great experience) and our server sent us out a complimentary white chocolate bread pudding for dessert to celebrate our anniversary. It was amazing! It was not too sweet but just sweet enough. We look forward to going back to try their prime rib night on Saturdays. Can't wait! P.S- I went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse last week for the first time. I can honestly say my steaks from Meme's were MUCH better than Ruth's Chris.

Food was acceptable but the prices were astronomical. I would have rather eaten in the French Quarter for the price. For what they charge, I would have expected it to be much better or unique. Truth is that is is average food at high end prices. I will never eat there again.

Recently had lunch there with a large group that included long time veteran restaurant owners of an iconic new orleans eatery, including their head chef, as well as the longtime owner of another iconic catering business that aint dere no more.I mention this only to point out that our group knows food and the ins and outs of the food business! We had excellent service from the hostess to the busser. Waitress was extremely nice and knew the menu well. Started off with one of every appetizer, and they were all pretty damn good. The oyster app really stood out! For entrees everyone got various things, the filet in particular was cooked perfectly. Garlic fries were well done, not greasy and well seasoned. Overall everyone left very satisfied and raved about the food. The place itself is very nice, a very casually upscale feel. As for the complaints about prices, they were not out of line with any other type of restaurant of this caliber anywhere else in the city. It seems that people think that because the place is in Chalmette that means it should be "cheap"....guess what people, food and labor costs in Chalmette are not any cheaper they than 5 miles away in the city or out in metry!!!! To the one star reviews on here, they seem a bit unjustified considering the place is brand spanking new and they were probably still working out a few kinks when these people visited (dont go to a new restaurant in the first week and expect perfection). Our party thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the service and the atmosphere
