Great service, great atmosphere, good food. Come here if you love crawfish!! The crawfish platter was awesome!

Riverside is hands down the best seafood place that I've eaten at in Lafayette. The End.

I love authentic Cajun cuisine. I have a very good (Ivy League educated) Cajun pal who tells me, "A true Coon Ass don't eve(r) burn (i.e., blacken ... a la Paul Prudhomme) 'is fish, he don't eve(r) put dirt in 'is rice ... and he neve(r) eats at Prejean's." Recalling his words, I chose to dine at Poor Boy's Riverside Inn - in search of Cajun authenticity on a recent pass through Louisiana. A family style favorite among Lafayette locals, Poor Boy's is pretty good. The menu is entirely Cajun fare; crawfish, crab, shrimp, catfish, 'gator, and duck dominate. The marinated crab claws hit the mark, and my ""shrimp and catfish pirogue" (an eggplant-based dish ... believe it or not) was nothing short of excellent. Poor Boy's is off of the beaten path, requiring a good GPS system or a local guide service to find it. There are no reservations, so be prepared to wait if you arrive after 6:00pm.

Friendly staff and prompt service. Will gladly recommend them to others.

Authentic "old school" Cajun restaurant. It is where we locals go when we want to eat genuine Cajun food at a restaurant. The crab cakes are a must have item. Great long-term staff that emphasizes service also...
