Drove here after our trip to Destrehan Plantation, this is a short drive over the 310 bridge. They offered a buffet, but it was $33 and we weren't quite hungry enough to justify that. As it turns out, our meals were plenty to fill us up. The seafood on offer at the buffet did look really good, though. Instead, we ordered the salmon and shrimp with dirty rice, and the alligator sausage po boy/seafood gumbo combo. We got the "Bayou rolls" appetizer - egg roll filled with crawfish, shrimp, seasonings with an addictive dipping sauce. If you are visiting New Orleans and want to try out Cajun food, come out here and check this place out.

I ordered a hot sausage po-boy and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived before the 10 min. The hot sausage wasn't hot, the cheese wasn't melted & the sandwich looked old. You only get two patties, one on each side. More bread than meat.

Just walked in with my daughter. Was seated right away but then sat there for at least 6mins without anyone even approaching our table. While I watched at least 4 waiters and waitresses walk by. Not one said hello I'll be right with you nothing. I have eaten here numerous times I live in Luling service is always tolerable but not good today was ridiculous. Will not be back here. I'll drive to Kenner Metairie and give my business there. Oh and the hostess is a joke. When I told her I was leaving because no one came to our table in a timely manner she rolled her eyes and said ok. I could understand the wait if they were busy but they weren't. At all.

I ordered the gumbo and it was horrible. The service is not even worth one star. The waitress took the nasty so called gumbo away and never offered me anything else. I do not recommend this place. Go to Bush LA for good seaffod. Long drive but we'll worth the trip.

At first I hated the place. Was unhappy with the food but over time it has gotten better. My major gripe is with the quality of some of the pasta dishes. They could use some improvement. I keep going back for the absolutely delicious bayou rolls (must try!) and my love of seafood buffets. Yeah it's a little pricey but it's hard to find dungeons crab around here. My son also love the buffet, gumbo and the boiled crawfish and corn.

Came here with a group of coworkers for a late lunch while visiting greater Boutte, LA. This place was said to be a local favorite of the area, mainly because of the seafood buffet. After perusing the buffet offerings and being less than impressed, I ordered the lump crab cakes and a side of jambalaya. The crab cakes look as if they are battered and fried with fish batter. They tasted pretty darn good with the romulade sauce that comes with it. The side of jambalaya was the tomato-based kind which is not my favorite. Also, some of the rice grains were not fully cooked and got stuck in my teeth. I sent it back and ordered a side of fries instead. The waitress was really polite and apologetic about the undercooked rice. Not a huge deal but this place was kinda "eh" for me. I will note that one of my coworkers got the Seafood platter and cleaned his plate. He said his meal was very good. So maybe try that if you come here while in the area.

Great food and service..just needed a little more garlic on the grilled oysters. I will definitely go again!

The service is horrible. I had lunch here a few times just because I was meeting other people. It takes forever to get your food. Don't expect to get a refill on your drink. The food isn't very good and the prices are way too high. I gave the seafood buffet a try once. The extremely high price I had to pay for it made me think I was going to get some great boiled seafood. I was VERY wrong. The seasoning they use is horrible. I will not be wasting my money on that again.

So pretty much anytime u order take out it's not as good as dinning in right? Well the last couple times I ordered take out it was just as good as if I was eating it there. Yeay! Blk tuna pasta, dung crabs, Bacon chburger all delicious

Let's start with the crawfish, it was obviously 2 or 3 days old... when i confronted my server she dismissed it and never returned to my table. Snow crabs were just as bad, and the dungeons crabs (only 2 then they ran out at 1pm on a sunday) were just as bad... AVOID AT ALL COST

I worked in the town of Boutte on the 5-14-2013. I was told by a teacher at the local high school about this place. After eating here I did thank her for recommending this place. I ordered the Catfish Platter with the sweet potato fries. The catfish was crispy and well seasoned. The sweet potato fries were very good. The food was hot and not at all greasy. The price of the food was reasonable and the service was okay. I will be working in the area again in the fall. God willing I will visit again.

The new lobster tank has had me curious for the last few weeks. So now they are offering surf and turf, with a flat iron steak. Well I was worried since this place hasn't done fresh lobster, but I tell you.. It was perfect. The kitchen was a little backed up tonight, but my surf and turf was awesome. Two for one martinis made the wait a non issue. Our server, Ambur was wonderful and so friendly. The chef, Rochelle even made a visit to our table to check on us and apologize about the wait, even though we hadn't complained. Simply a great night at zydeco's.

If you are wondering down Highway 90, famished and don't want to eat at your normal fast food joints, Zydeco's is worth the stop. There should be no issues with get a table. The food will be fried (what else do you eat in NO) and the beer will be domestic and cheap. What more can you ask for in the deep bayou?

The best seafood restaurant in St. Charles Parish and the Westbank. We order out most of the time, but occasionally dine in for the all you can eat! We order the shrimp poboy most of the time.

I visited Zydeco's on numerous occasions while living in Avondale waiting for my ship to be completed. PROs: They serve up some really great food that comes in huge portions. Every time I went I ended up taking left overs home. The restaurant is great for large parties with plenty of seating. This was great for us since we always went out in groups of 6. CONs: Prices are a little high. Many of the items on the menu you can get for much cheaper at mom and pop shop just down the street. Waiting staff is composed of young immature girls that give half hearted service and attention to the guest. On more than one occasion my drink was empty and my waitress was at the entrance podium chatting with another employee. Parking is limited if you show up past 6.

I spent over a month in Boutte and I ate at Zydeco's at least four nights per week during my stay. I ate probably twenty dozen charbroiled oysters and another six dozen raw. I feasted on bar-b-que'd shrimp, fried oysters, ribeye steaks and filet mignon. I ordered the Snapper Orleans, the Combo Platter, the Blackened Tuna Pasta and the Pasta Pontchartrain. I had Oyster Po'Boys, Hot Sausage Po'Boys and several Cajun Pressed Sandwiches. I'm not even going to admit to how many ice cold Abita Ambers I had in those frosty chalices. I never had a bad meal at Zydeco's. I guess that's why I kept going back. Or maybe it was the kind bartenders Christal, Chelsea and Julie. Each of them provided excellent customer service with a friendly smile. They, along with manager Brandi provided a pleasant respite from my 84 hour per week job 2500 miles from home. Thanks ladies and I hope to see you all again soon.

Okay, my best friend, boyfriend, and I did a joint birthday buffet dinner last night, and it was even better than the first time. The snow crabs were amazing this time and very sweet. This place is awesome and although we probably won't eat here often, we have already planned the next birthday buffet dinner! $34.95 a person is steep, but that price comes with: fried shrimp, fried frog legs, fried oysters, fried catfish, fried mushrooms, hush puppies, french fries, macaroni and cheese, crawfish eggrolls, stuffed crabs, softshell crabs, gumbo, boiled crabs (crawfish too when in season), dungeness crabs, snow crabs, boiled shrimp, and potatoes, mushrooms, corn, and sausage! I am SURE I probably forgot about 10 things on the buffet. Everything was fresh and spiced wonderfully!

On family visits to Luling, we traditionally always got Po Boy's from Sal's. We were sad when this old place went away and was replaced by Zydeco's II. In previous visits, the food wasn't that good and was a bit salty. This trip, it was really quite good. We always get it takeout so can't comment on service or atmosphere (seems a bit dingy), but the take-out food was great. Shrimp Po Boy - the bread was soft like its supposed to be. My daughter, who rarely likes to eat shrimp, said the shrimp was the best she's ever had. The breading was light and not soggy - just right. Catfish platter - enough fish for two people! Very light breading with thin strips. Depends on what you like (more breading or more fish), but I love it when they strips are thin. I kept stealing pieces from my son's plate. My 14 year old son gave a big thumbs up. Gumbo - was a little light in color, but it made up for it in flavor. Lots of sausage. Didn't look like any crab. Not too salty this time. Corn and crawfish bisque - this stole the show. Creamy, spicy bisque with lots of crawfish meat. It was sweet because of the corn. Very nice! We won't worry about going another 30 minutes to get the next level up any more. This place works great for takeout.

I'm not sure what has been going on, but my last few visits have been a bit "uninspiring" at Zydeco. They did redo their menu a bit, and that might be a reason. The food is still very good, but the quality has seemed to dip a bit. I don't know why places feel it is necessary to fix things that aren't broken, but I do hope it is just a temporary dip.

1for 3 here. First time was good. 2nd time too salty, 3rd time food was COLD. $27 is too much for what they have. No side items. Fried shrimp and catfish is good when they make it right. Hour and a half drive gone to waste so I'm a very disappointed. It was pretty dead, but if you are open then be open. 7 people deserve hot food just as if it were a packed house.

My husband and I had lunch at Zydeco's II, located where the ole Sal's restaurant in Luling was once located. I had gone to Zydeco's II a few times several years back when it was located a few blocks away. I hadn't gone again because each time I had gone previously I had to return the soft shell crab because it was overcooked or not cooked properly. The owner had to cook it for me. This last visit I had hoped they perfected the soft shell crab given how many years it was. Since this was our first time visiting since they moved to the new location, I was hoping for a little more ambiance or something ... unfortunately, other than space the new location was just like it was when it was Sal's: A big musty smelling with no personality location. There was no music and we were the first to be seated when we got there. My husband and I started coming up with ways to swank up the place a bit (at low cost), maybe playing some zydeco music (softly) - something. We noticed there was an all-you-can-eat buffet for $29, but neither one of us felt like having a buffet style meal. We ordered quickly and after we ordered the place started to get a bit busier. Most everyone was getting the buffet (okay, it looked like everyone was getting the buffet but I'm sure someone else ordered off the menu as well). Despite being the first there and most everyone ordering the buffet, we were there over 10 minutes before getting our drinks another 15 minutes before we got any bread (we didn't know we were supposed to get any) and then we got our appetizer about 10 minutes after that (about 35 minutes after getting there - at least), and then about five minutes after getting the appetizer, our salad came and then five minutes later our food came - everything was almost at the same time ... it really wasn't timed well. I didn't finish my salad because what was the point. My husband and I ordered the jumbo plate which advertised lots of shrimp and oysters and a double serving of soft shell crab along with stuffed crab. It was essentially a platter for two. When we got it, I noticed both of the soft shell crabs were very small and skinny and one of them was missing both front claws and all but a few of the other legs (my husband said he found one of the smaller legs with the shrimp) and they just did not look very appealing, there were approximately six shrimp, five oysters, three pieces of fried fish, two stuffed crabs, two sides. I cannot honestly say whether it was enough for the both of us because we had also ordered the seafood quesadilla (which was pretty good and quite filling), but the plate was adequate. The oysters were not bad but because I didn't eat any fish or the shrimp (I gave them all to my husband), I cannot judge those. The dirty rice was also adequate. The entire cost for our appetizer and shared jumbo shrimp came in at about $54 (with the tip), which we felt was not too bad ... however, the soft shell crab is a deal breaker for me. Honestly, I want to like this place, but I just cannot. It is a prime location in our area, and we are desperate for good restaurants out in our area. Note to Zydeco's: Learn to cook da crab and how about making it "fun" to be there .... that would be nice.
