Fabulous, wonderful, excellent preparation and presentation. Traditional but with 'farm to table' sensibility, locally sourced with big city foodie attention - lovely to find in revitalized downtown Paris. My second visit in three days! You're missing out if you haven't been here!!!

We were rather shocked to find such a gorgeous restaurant on Main Street in Paris, KY - it didn't really seem to fit in with its more quaint surroundings. If you are looking for a place for a cocktail or glass of wine, I would highly recommend the large bar in this restaurant. We decided to give this place a try for dinner. Service was fine, but there were only a few others eating in the restaurant at the time. I decided to try the "peppered" mushroom bisque (I think that maybe it was supposed to just be regular mushroom bisque, but someone accidentally put too much pepper in it) and it was just okay. Would have been better with less pepper. For my entree, I had the shrimp and grits and it was absolutely delicious. And it was a huge portion - I couldn't come close to finishing it. My husband for some reason ordered the chicken - he said it was just okay. The mashed potatoes that came with it were very dry and he couldn't even eat them. One highlight of the evening was the restroom - someone put some serious thought into those automatic pocket doors! But seriously, the restrooms are really lovely! Overall, we would come back again. They aren't quite as new as I thought - I thought they were just working out some kinks of being a new restaurant. Hopefully they become a little more consistent with their food - this is really a neat place.

Had brunch at bour bon today.. I was amazed. I grew up in paris and then moved away and around..my parents still live in town thus we were back in town to visit. I wanted something different and wow did they deliver. Every thing was fresh and delicious... The staff was pleasant and quick... I will be going there again

I would like to start off by saying this place is really gorgeous. It's immediately apparent that a lot of time and effort went into crafting the decor and feel of the restaurant. My girlfriend and I went to dinner for Valentine's Day. They had just had a play there and the dining room was a little disheveled, nothing out of the ordinary and no marks against for that. The menu was prefixed which can be challenging with a vegetarian in the mix. We asked for any possible veggie options or anything really and not much was done to accommodate. She wound up with soup and salad. I ordered surf and turf, and they were out of the turf, so I had a lobster tail. Nothing about the food or presentation stood out. When I ordered a bottle of wine, it was also unavailable. Overall the experience was not one we would like to repeat. It seems the servers and kitchen are not on the same page and there is certainly room for improvement. I will give it another shot, maybe in the summer when that beautiful patio can be utilized.

We came to see Bryan White perform in February. We were highly impressed with the quality of food and the atmosphere!

My wife and i had lunch here ( rib-eye sandwich ) it was great, on like sourdough bread with creamy horseradish sauce. decor is amazing and so nice to have a high end restaurant so close and not have to drive to Cincinnati or Louisville for this quality place. Thank you for picking Paris for your location.

What a gem of a place. We visited with a larger group from Lexington. It's about 25 minutes from downtown, but the drive is beautiful! I loved everything about this place-gorgeous interiors, inventive craft cocktails, and a small but balanced menu. I was able to try every item on the menu since I was with a larger group and we like to share. Everything was fantastic. The quality of the food was very apparent. My favorites were the spring pea and asparagus salad, the wood fired chicken with chicken confit with housemade gnocchi (YUM), and the strawberry panna cotta. Truly can't say enough about this place. I hope the people of Paris embrace it as they should, and to Lexintonians: make the drive! It is beyond worth it!

Nice ambiance, lovely furnishings and a nice big bar. It's a welcoming room, and there is a big enclosed patio. One fun thing is the automatic pocket doors, it's like going to the head on Captain Kirk's Enterprise! There are several large party rooms and live music on weekends. Met with a nice but concise menu that has some interesting things to try... A separate cocktail/wine menu has some bourbon focused cocktails and a good wine list with a focus on Argentine wines. potato skins are light, with a delightful crunch and nice flavor with the vinegar, a dash of salt wouldn't hurt. Had the sidewinder cocktail. A fun take on the Old Fashioned. Nice flavor with a citrusy nose. Quite delightful! The peaches & prosciutto are good, but the flavors are subtle and get overwhelmed a bit when attacked to aggressively. The grilled peaches are delightful, the ricotta needs to be used in very small portions, overall the dish is good but needs some balance. Focus on the wonderful flavor of the grilled peaches and use the other ingredients as enhancements. Ribeye is breaded and has a lovely mild horseradish sauce. It's a nice experience of crunchy & tangy. The meat could use some enhancements, a bit of season would really make this dish pop. Fingerling potatoes are just lovely, and have that season the steak longs for. The half chicken is phenomenal! Wonderful lemon bourbon glaze that soaks into the chicken, THEN gets a great grilled crust. Moist and perfectly cooked, a feature. For dessert we shared a pot d'creme with coffee ice cream. This was worth the wait. The pot d'creme was light and tasty, very subtle. Contrasting that is the coffee ice cream, made in house this is a bold take on the coffee ice cream. Rich coffee flavor with a smooth creaminess. A great topper to a nice meal. Overall we enjoyed the meal, there are some refinements that could really make it a four star experience. The wait staff was great, attentive and knowledgable. Bour Bon is still a young restaurant and with time will become a destination.

Very disappointing. After hearing a lot of positive talk and reading a couple articles, we were very excited to get here for dinner. We tried the following dishes: Catfish Empanadas Kingfish Ribeye Wagyu The highs: The empanadas were pretty good and arrived as half of our appetizers. See the "lows" for the other half. The finger potatoes served with the ribeyes and the sweet potatoes that came with both the kingfish and wagyu beef were good and flavorful and the preparation for each was tasty. The fresh baked bread that we had to ask for was also good. All our craft drinks arrived from the bar quite tasty. The atmosphere was also very nice and felt trendy without feeling snotty. The lows: The food, except that mentioned above, was bland. We ordered the catfish as half of an appetizer and it was heavy, oily and devoid of flavor. The heat of the ribeye was only from the chimichurrI, the meat itself was warm at best and tasted nothing like a steak or much of anything else save for a mild fishy taste. I only ate half, my dad got through 3/4 of his. The waygu dish was served with smashed potatoes and the beef and potatoes were indistinguishable from each other. Even the sauce served with it tasted the same as everything else. It went back with only five or six bites taken from it which or waitress noticed and remarked on, even showing it to someone else on the staff after she took it from the table. I saved the kingfish for last because it was the last dish on the table. It had arrived with everything else but was very under-cooked and was sent back. It didn't show back up until all the rest of us were finished eating so, except a couple tastes, it went immediately into a to-go box. The 'tweens: The wait staff worked hard but were clearly untrained for the atmosphere/price level Bour-Bon wants to be. Our waitress didn't seem to know the food well but did try to rise to the challenge once she saw the meal was going badly. ----- We didn't say much to the general manager until we were leaving since my father didn't want a scene saying instead that he'd just voice his opinion with his feet. The manager remarked that we should have said something so they could have fixed it... and then simply walked away. He had previously come by the table and acknowledged my sister's kingfish arriving under-cooked and then coming to the table late but did nothing to mitigate it then (no offer of a dessert and also charging her full price for a meal she didn't get to eat with her family) so the lack of and earnest response later was not surprising but it was disappointing.

After four meals here I am sure to say that this is a great place to experience. An atmosphere which is more metropolitan than would be expected in the Bluegrass of Ky. The food is excellent, tasty, and creative. Service is attentive but not intrusive. I seriously recommend this place when you visit Paris, Ky , The Heart of the Bluegrass!!

This place is such a gem. The decor and atmosphere is trendy and chill. The craft cocktails are fantastic every single time I've been here. The chefs create such outstanding menu items and every plate is delicious. The wood fire pizza never disappoints. Last night I tried the Halibut dish with sautéed arugula and baby corn. It was brilliantly prepared and the best halibut I have ever tasted. My husband ordered the salmon and it was perfectly seared and also amazing. Most everything is bought local and they strive for farm to table. I've heard it's 98% farm to table. The manager Glen explained they don't even have a freezer or microwave because everything is prepared fresh. Go here. Take your friends. Have a fancy cocktail and enjoy seriously good food.

Great spot for an anniversary dinner. Excellent decor; great bar & selections; nice menu; good service and ...the food was truly outstanding. We had the grilled peach salad, the watermelon salad, halibut, tenderloin of beef, scallops & chicken and two chocolate desserts. Good beer, bourbon & wine too. All were absolutely spot on! Our server, Crystal, was excellent and made very helpful suggestions. Prices were reasonable for a nice evening out. We will definitely return.

First time in Paris and went to this beautiful restaurant! We went on a Friday night and noticed they have a stage for live music...will definitely have to be back for that another time. We ordered the wood oven fired pizza to start along with cocktails, delicious! My friend ordered the burger which she loved and I ordered a plate of vegetables because I'm vegetarian(fingerling potatoes, carrots, asparagus, gnocchi) which were very tasty. We also had the strawberry buttermilk panna cotta(YUM). I will definitely be back!

My wife and I detoured through Paris on our way South on I-75 because I had read positive reviews both in articles and on Yelp. Worth it. The drive there passes beautiful horse farms and is pretty enough. The downtown is pretty small and low key, but the eclectic decor and professional demeanor in the restaurant was exactly as expected. Had the watermelon salad which was very fresh and flavorful. Ordered the beef tenderloin which came served on grits and mushrooms. Outstanding and for a farm to table artisanal restaurant, I felt the portions were filling. Beautiful presentation. Ordered the dessert smore and was not disappointed - a cup of mousse surrounded by chocolate and marshmallows with a crunchy accent. I don't write many yelp reviews but this trip was worth posting one.

Unique place in the middle of Paris. Has the potential to be cool but our experience was an indication of the capabilities of the kitchen. We went for New Years Eve, and supriseingly they limited the menu to just 4 entrees....4 steaks and a rack of lamb (lobster added to steak). A few vegetables choices. and that was it. We went there for the menu but they limited it for some odd reason. We ordered rack of lamb and were told that it would come out medium. Kind of odd, as it is typically cooked to order and is medium rare....but oh well, go with it. We received two orders and both were beyond well done. They said they would bring another order....again...way beyond well done. Then we find out they precooked them that morning...and basically warmed them up. So to say the least it was very disappointing. The rest of the foods were OK, but not great nor reflective of the price point. The manager was gracious, the waitress was OK although not overly knowledgable, but c'mon...who precooks rack of lamb that takes 15-20 minutes in a hot oven. Easy. Maybe the chef was out, but a big nite, big bill, small menu and execution was poor. I hope they improve, as it could be a cool place with music, outdoor fire pit, etc.

This was our second visit to this fine establishment. I love the ambiance and the feeling that we are in a swanky restaurant in a large city. We returned with friends who are true Foodies. Cocktails were served immediately. The bar prides itself on originality making mixes from scratch; however, they had no bitters for my friend. We started with the foie gras, excellent smooth and creamy served with grilled toast points, a specialty grilled pizza and steak tartare. All were served at the correct temperature and were delicious. The grilled peach salad is to die for. It is delicious. My grilled pork loin was good but it had a little too much fat to my liking. However, it was tender and tasty. My friend reported his lamb was disappointing. All of the desserts were exceptional. We ordered one of each and shared them. The bathrooms are worth a visit. Since Bour Bon is relatively new, I hope they will expand their entrees on the menu. I shall return.

We had a large group on a weekend night to celebrate a friends birthday. because we were a group of over a dozen, we called ahead to reserve the special group room upstairs. The ambiance was very nice downstairs but upstairs was a bit stark in comparison and not very comfortable. It took the staff over 20 minutes to bring us the menus. It went down hill from here. We had specifically come to the restaurant for the steak. We were told only after we started to order that they were out of steak. Additionally, there were not any specials. The food took close to an hour to arrive and it was very bland. I had the chicken and could have done a far better job at home. The service was terrible, the food was not impressive, and we left feeling very let down. The worst part of it is that I became very ill within hours of the meal and am just feeling up to writing this review now after almost 48 hours of not being able to keep anything down.
