Started with a gin and tonic with a lemon. It came with a lime. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer. They were delicious but had only about an ounce of chicken. They brought more but never apologized. My entree Wes the pecan chicken salad. The chicken was very tough and brown. They brought grilled chicken to replace it. Again, no apology. The real kicker was the bartender Catherine was evidently hating life at the moment we walked in. She was completely rude throughout our entire meal. We will not ever ever come back. We are both in the service industry and we are appalled.

Food always takes a long time and I've heard the company that owns this place didn't allow breaks for it's employees. Food isn't bad but it's a very unoriginal olive garden type place with great prices. My wife and I got unlimited salad a main course and a tiny bite of desert for twenty dollars.

Half price Wednesdays are awesome! Getting a bottle of wine for basically the same price as picking it up at the liquor store is wonderful! Enjoyed our wine and the chopped club salad. It was scrumptious! Also tried the 1/2 size chicken-sausage nachos and they were just right!

Nice Italian place that's quiet and nice atmosphere. Our waiter was very friendly and reminded us that the lasagna was the same price as a family size that night. What?! Well, we ate lasagna for the next two days and are still talking about this place and its fun name. The tortolini was also very good!

Johnny Carino's is a chain restaurant near the Fayette Mall Cinemark. It's the type of place that you go to when you are going to the movies afterward and just want a convenient spot to eat. A couple of nights ago I went to Johnny Carino's with a friend for dinner. It was a Monday night so we were seated immediately and offered warm bread with the olive oil/roasted garlic mixture to dip it into. Johnny Carino's bread is superior to Olive Garden's breadsticks, but OG one ups them by offering soup or salad with meals at no extra charge. The crispy calamari salad looked so appetizing on the menu. I was wanting a salad and I love calamari, so it was the perfect combination. I asked for it without olives and with regular instead of zesty ranch on the side. It came with olives and zesty ranch on the side. I wasn't too upset by this oversight. I was underwhelmed by the rubbery and bland calamari. I have had better calamari at the OG.

I've been to this location countless times. Every time that I check in and notice that I've never posted a review, I remember the times before. Horrible service and horrible management each time. Each time, I insist on giving them another chance. The Hamburg location is one of my favorite restaurants in Lexington. Both locations have the Family Monday nights, you can get family platters for the price of regular entrees. You can't make those dishes at home for near the price that you pay here on Mondays. That being said, regardless the price, service and management trumps the ratings from me. I can bore with bad service details, but I'll briefly mention, a pet peeve of mine is when the waiter doesn't write down my order and when the order comes out all jacked up, without apology they blame it on the kitchen. Yeah, that's happened more than once here. Tonight, while waiting on our meals to be remade, the waiter and the manager walked by several times without acknowledging our need of refills or the fact that we've been there for over an hour. Not cool.

It's an over priced Olive Garden. They bread they give you was good. The meal was pretty good. They don't give you much for the price you are paying. The should have like a happy hour or half off during lunch when it's super slow to get people in. I was hoping for a good Italian place but I'll have to keep looking in this town.

This was my first time here. I met some friends for lunch. Pros: - Convenient location - Plenty of parking - Friendly staff - Reasonable prices Cons: - Food was just ok - The bread came out in a bag 1 roll at a time. There were four of us at the table. - The restaurant was empty but I found it difficult to get my water refilled. I would come back to this restaurant just wouldn't stop by frequently.

I can never say enough about the quality food and service I receive here. The staff, menu choices, flavors ALL exceed your usual Italian restaurant. It's my usual GO TO spot so I try to justify going elsewhere for special events but in the end they make it hard to not come back ALL the time. Love it! Love it! Love it! ITALIAN NACHOS! CHOCOLATE MARTINI! CHICKEN & SHRIMP PENNE! LOBSTER RAVIOLI!

As a disabled vet I use curbside pickup all the time for myself and my spouse. Tonight I picked up the Flat Iron Steak with fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes and the Spicy Shrimp and Chicken Penne Pasta. The steak was ordered medium rare and cooked exactly as one who knows medium rare. The fresh vegetables were haricots verts and the roasted potatoes were the red type perfectly seasoned. The Spicy Shrimp and Chicken is lightly spiced so the spice hits you late on the back of the palate. Shrimp was lightly pink and tender and the Chicken was breast meat cut in thin slices not overcooked. Spouse had Pinot with the Shrimp and Chicken and I as always had the Chianti with the steak. Great in home dining experience.

Johnny Carino's is nothing more than a glorified Olive Garden. Everything on the menu is either swimming in oil, glazed with butter, or littered with garlic. In fact, I'm convinced that even the ice water had garlic in it. Given the gargantuan portion sizes and inexpensive price point, It's no wonder that this place is as popular as it is among the masses; however, it's unfortunate that this food is what many people consider to be well-executed Italian cuisine. Food: Johnny Carino's is an Italian chain restaurant with approximately 130 locations across the country. The menu predominately consists of severely Americanized Italian fare with a a few randomly interspersed purely American dishes like barbecue chicken and flat iron steak. All entrees are served with complimentary bread - salads are available at an additional charge. Our party started with an order of the "Italian Nachos" with chicken, which were essentially just Mexican nachos with some alfredo, parmesan, and mozzarella added in for good measure. Overall, it wasn't particularly impressive and the chicken was virtually nonexistent. For an entree, I had the "timballo", which was another Mexican knockoff that consisted of spaghetti, chicken, parmesan, mozzarella, onions, and bell peppers in a sizzling skillet. Again, I could count the pieces of chicken on one hand and the cheese was no more than a few teaspoons worth - the dish was nearly 90% spaghetti. Service: Our waiter had the charisma of a flesh eating disease. I'm not sure whether it was because we were dining in a party of eight and he knew he would be getting an automatic gratuity, but he really made absolutely no effort to go beyond the bare minimum necessary to ensure that food was put in front of us and that we paid for it. He also screwed up the drink order, which had to be resolved by another staff member from the bar. Atmosphere: The interior of this place reeks of a corporate chain - the decor is artificial, the acoustics are horrendous, and everything from the tables to the menus are coated in a sticky film. The clientele is a mixed bag, but mostly mall goers, families with children, and larger groups celebrating special occasions. Cost: Moderately priced. Appetizers are approximately $5-$7, flat breads are $7, entree salads are $10-$14, and entrees are $11-$16. Family platters are also available for $20-$28. Other: Johnny Carino's is located just off Nicholasville Rd, directly in front of Fayette Mall. Lunch and dinner are served - the full menu is available from Sunday-Thursday, 11AM-10PM, and Friday-Saturday, 11AM-11PM. A limited bar menu is available until 12AM every evening. Every Wednesday the restaurant offers 1/2 priced bottles of wine.

Came in for a meal this time. I've only been here once before for a pre-movie drink. Had one of the $7.99 lunch specials with a glass of wine. My expectations weren't high as the atmosphere is rather "corporate restaurant"...overall, was a mediocre experience ...good because there's plenty of room to improve. It's the location convenience that brought me here to be honest (^ー^)ノ

Excellent as always. Love the bread & roasted garlic & olive oil. Had Spicy chicken Romano & it was delicious. Had lunch portion & still too full for dessert.

I love the Monday Family Night deal! We get 2 Family meals and have dinner plus lunch the next day for the price of a regular sized entree. They will allow you to customize all of the dinners so you can add/remove anything you want. I like to get the Spicy Chicken Romano but without the creamy, spicy sauce. I get the marinara instead of the creamy sauce to lighten up the dish a bit and to tame the spice. I usually add the unlimited salad to my order. With a 2nd serving of salad, I eat less pasta and have more to take home for later meals!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
