My roller derby team goes here almost every Thursday after practice and they always take great care of us. Yummy food, good beer selection, and the bartenders are super nice.

Definitely not the classiest bar in Topeka, in my opinion the people and the facility are just slightly above the dive bar status. The food is nothing worthy of Michelin stars (it's mostly frozen cafeteria style food) but they don't brag about the food so I digress. Overall the beer prices are good and the service is decent, so if you're a local of Topeka then stop in, if you're visiting Topeka then drive on by.

I love this bar. It is the classic American nieghborhood bar. The menu is awesome and you must try the mexican food. Chicken Sour Cream burrito is to die for.

A dump but without the charm. I was driving around town and decided to stop by to watch some of the KU-KSU football game that I had been listening to on the radio. After sitting at the bar and getting a drink I casually scaned the TVs in the search of the game. "We don't have that one" said the bartender, "We don't have direct TV. We have it playing over the radio, use your imagination". I just sat there thinking, 'you gotta' be fuggin' kidding me'. For those that are unfamiliar with Topeka or perhaps struggled in geography, the city sits in between the KSU and KU campuses, about twenty miles away in either direction. How is this even possible? Its like the Earth losing sight of the moon. Anyway, I ordered some corndog popper things because they were out of actual corndogs, whatever. With mustard they were actually 'ok', a tad greasy. If you like darts, this place seems to have a lot of dart players because it had about five or more dart areas set up and a pool table in the back. I'm sure this place has its nights where normal people may drink, students, the unmedicated and those that don't wear t-shirts that display anything nascar, Taz, a hole on the side or armpit or a free cigarette promotion shirt. If your life feels burned out and emptied, tired of waking up in cold sweats in mom's basement starring up at plumbing, drifting cobwebs and rusted bent nails, surrounded by Xmas decorations, neglected bicycles, boxes of things that belong to your sister/brother that lives in New York, San Francisco, Dubai or wherever doing wonderful and interesting things and stacks of 'Muscle and Fitness' from your 'days at the Y' then you are in luck because Oscar's has Keno from the Kansas Lottery! I have often thought that they ought to treat the Keno playing cards with a light minty cyanide strip. Much like a cosmoline spray will the protect important things the suggested cyanide strip will help thin the herd from those that choose to simply end it all. Keno players are all prime candidates. If this place is within walking distance of your home then yes, its worth the walk but I wouldn't make this a driving destination.

I come to this bar all the time, it's one of my favorite in town. I read a review on here by a guy who said it didn't have the game, and overall didn't have a lot of good things to say. Dive bars seem to be chic these days, well this is a dive bar, the problem is, it's not the ones right next to the commercial and popular districts and sports bars. This is a bar that has a pool table, multiple dart boards (non electronic), cold pabst on tap, and 50 cent tacos on Fridays. It is a dive bar, not a sports bar, though it has games. If you like a dive bar that is a devised concoction by a entitled rich kid who serves pabst and attracts the hipster kids, this is not for you, but if you like to hang out in a cool bar with a good jukebox around genuine pabst drinkers, this is your place. There is the outside chance of getting shot, but what good bar doesn't. Oh, and the know it all that said Topeka was 20 miles from manhattan (KSU) and 20 miles from Lawrence (KU) doesn't know much about geography, it's 30 miles to Lawrence and 50 to Manhattan. Come to town, have a beer, and GO WILDCATS!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
