Came here to watch the Royals and had great service. This is a totally local bar and I met some great people from around the area who come here all the time. I only had the fried mushrooms which were pretty standard so I can't comment too much on food. I did see they had a couple local beers on tap which is nice. lots of TVs and space in here. For some reason it feels like they get some of the sketchier crowd in here, but it's not bad. There was only one almost-bar fight.

Callahan's is awesome! Had the absolute best hamburger in my life...and I'm old and have eaten lotsa hamburgers! The husband said his patty melt was the best...and he is really old. Great service, great bartender (Matt) ...and friendly!

Went again last night and asked about their fried pickels. They are dairy free. They said all the batters are beer and flour so chicken tenders, pickels, mushrooms, onion rings are all dairy free. They are also yummy.

I had the patty melt. It was fabulous! We all had burgers, everyone enjoyed their lunch.

Slow service. Very very very slow service...even when there's barely a lunch crowd Being out in this area, there are very limited places for lunch with a large(ish) group during the work hours - Callahans is your typical bar food stop but you have been warned, service is so dang slow...

I have been here a few times. It has always been a fun atmosphere. I will definitely be going back. So far I have only had the pizza but it was pretty good.

Went to Callahans last night for the NU/Illinois FB game, great atmosphere, great burgers, and our waitress took great care of our party of 12. Very reasonable on their prices.

Don't stray too far off the menu from the pizza. Most of the burgers and sandwiches come out too salty, including the chicken fried, and generally have a bland taste to it. A couple of the appetizers stand out, but it's more or less hole-in-the-wall bar food, other than the above average pizza. Service is generally slow and unattentive, unless you get the redhead or the short blonde and you're sitting at the bar. There is pretty decent beer specials though. It is a good place to watch local sports at; however, the owner is very stingy with what other sports he will put the sound on, unless it's one of his favorite sports or teams. Overall I would say, Callahan's is on the cusp of dive bar and dining restaurant, unfortunately just not hitting the mark on either.

SLOWEST SERVICE!! Took forever to get two salads but worst of all, waited 45 minutes to get the check!!! The booths are solid wood like a church pew. My back hurt so bad waiting and waiting. After 30 minutes, I went to the car to lie down while my husband stayed inside and waited for the check. It was ridiculous! To top it all off, the food was mediocre. Not worth wasting your time.

I was in the mood for a good burger. I've driven by Callhan's & decided to try it after reading other Yelp reviews. I lucked out & Saturday's special was the Classic burger. I got to order it medium rare - good sign. They also had tator tots - sweet!! I also ordered the Passion Fruit drink - it was strong & tasty. It took a while for my burger & my husband's triple B Burger to arrive. It was well worth the wait - burger was thick, tasty, & cooked exactly as I ordered. Tater tots were cooked to the right crispiness. My husband's burger was a little under cooked & he thought it could have been 'blackened" more. Our waiter was attentive & acknowledged that our food was taking awhile. We are definitely going back & trying additional items, like the fried pickles!

Went here at 11PM hoping for a different place to eat while working the night shift. Tired of fast food and QuikTrip being the only options. Super friendly bartender that made me feel at home. Kitchen was closing but she offered to make a pizza since their oven was still on. Offered me a drink while I waited (I was taking it back to work). Can't say much for the pizza, the crust was very bland and tasteless. Kinda like a giant cracker with toppings. I won't be getting a pizza again. But I would return to try other things if I can get there earlier. This says a lot for great service. You get a nice tip and a return customer, even though the food was marginal.

We just moved to the area and thus has become our favorite bar and grill (and there are a handful in this area) On Tuesday's they have a great pizza deal. .. it's s largr grandslam for 14.99. which is what we usually get. We tried the nachos last time and they were loaded with jalapenos, salsa, sour cream, olives and cheese. I really enjoyed them.

  • Mike B.

This is a great neighborhood bar and grill, the burgers are fantastic, and we like the thin pizza as well. Who doesn't love an irish bar with pizza...come on! The beer is cold, strongly recommend the tater tots instead of the fries.

I have watched a few Husker games at Callahan's, and typically enjoy their food and sports bar atmosphere. I have also been here a handfull of times for happy hour. They have several TV's and a projection screen or two. It seems like the food is consistent (wings are awesome), and servers are cool. I have also heard that they serve the best ribs in KC on Wednesday night; I need to get in and give that a try. Don't hate me. My only complaint is that in my experience, the establishment is too "family friendly". Last Saturday, after 10:00 pm there were literally children everywhere. Even a family with a baby. A few families were there with their kids who had just finished baseball practice. I had to double check that I wasn't at Chucky Cheese. Boo.

I've been stoppin' by here for the last four or five years. Hasn't changed much which is good, clean atmosphere and good food. I don't care for or do the bar scene so I stay away in the evenings, for me it's great for lunch.

  • Scott B.

Amazing burgers. Probably on my list of best burgers ever. AND... tots. Yes, you can choose tots or fries with your meal... and I certainly love my tots. The atmosphere was hectic when I was there, as it was the eve of the big KU - KSTATE game... but our server was attentive despite the crowd, and our beers and food came promptly. For all you sports bar lovers... giant flat screens make for a great game-watching experience.

I just called this place to find out which fireball games would be on, and had the most rude person answer the phone and then she hung up on me! What a sn@tch! Apparently they don't need or business, and they're not going to get it!

I LOVE this bar! The food is consistantly good...I have been going to the original location for 20+ years...the service is always friendly. My favorite menu items are the friend chicken salad.....YUM! And the pork tenderloin....ugh wish I had it right now! Go visit!!!

Great place to watch a Husker or K-State game! My husband and I have gone here three times now. We love the service, all the TV's, and the crowd. The food is like any other bar food, maybe a little better, but this is the place to be for saturday college football!

I don't know why, but I expected a proper pour on my Guinness when I went here for the first time. Maybe it was the local feel, and that it was at least a plastic paddy place. But alas, no such luck. The barman blasted out a straight pour and slid it across the bar with a 1" head. Seems like a nice place, but not if you're there for the black stuff.

My review, originally posted to UrbanSpoon "Let me start a bad review with a positive..." ...the $6 Cheesburger and fries/tots lunch special is pretty damn good. 1/2 lb, choice of cheese, and either fries or tots. Now, on to the bad. Callahan's bills themselves as Callahan's Pizzeria - Pub - Grill Pizzeria. Hardly! I don't see how anyone could, in good conscience, call themselves a pizzeria when they clearly use pre-made crusts. I believe Callahan's gets those tortilla-like pre-made rounds, throws some sauce, cheese, & toppings on them, and calls it pizza. Very disappointing. I did get their pizza once before to go and was disappointed, but I thought maybe it was just one of those times. I went back to get the excellent lunch burger deal mentioned above and saw the pizza ovens. They were the real deal, so I thought I'd go back and give it another shot. This time I dined in, thinking it would surely be good fresh. Holy hell it sucked! Anyway, I'll recommend the burger deal at lunch, but stay far away from the pizza. **************************************************************************** I didn't want to rate Callahan's at all, but Yelp forced me to. To clarify my rating: I'd give the pizza zero stars and I'd give the burger...3.5 - 4

Great food, good bar, overall a solid place to go in Lenexa. Nachos were fantastic and had a ton of fresh ingredients. Place does a decent business but has not been too crowded for comfort when I have been in there. Defiantly will be back!

I will keep my review below as it should not be forgotten and they should know that people to appreciate the OLD wed. special. Plus their ribs were not as good last time and completely mediocre....maybe i got unlucky?...idk ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As stated in an earlier review: Okay, this review is for the wednesday special!!! I dont do any other night nor do i ever think i will so the 5 stars is for my experience at callhans on WED NIGHTS. They have authentic bbq baby back ribs for only 13.95 (might be 14.95). This is for a whole MEATY slab fresh off the smoker!! I would get them dry with sauce on the side as their sauce is kind of "meh" .besides i get ribs dry everywhere regardless. These ribs on wed. are better than the ribs you will get at the majority of bbq places. For starters, these are baby backs! Secondly being that they do a special on wed. that means more people are ordering them, and when more people are ordering them, that means you are going to be getting fresh off the smoker ribs. Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types.
