There are times when you would watch something on television that would claim to be something but then it isn't like reality tv. This place has BBQ in it's name but it for sure isn't that at all. It really should change the name to nicks BBQ sauce cause that is exactly what has happened. Went there today as a big group and we all ordered something different. I assumed that since this is a BBQ place I will order some BBQ. I got the beef brisket with three sides. My kids each ordered the hot dogs and the wife ordered an Italian beef sandwich. It's a weird combination for a BBQ restaurant but if it tastes good then that works for me. Let's just start by talking about my beef brisket, a staple in a lot of BBQ places. It was disgusting. It tasted like they possibly took the beef out of their Italian beef juice, put a half of bottle of BBQ sauce on it and then serve it to you and call it BBQ. I know that this beef was not smoked in a smoker at all. It was kind of chewy and I didn't want to eat any of it but somehow choked most of it down. But with the half bottle of BBQ sauce, I might have become a partial diabetic. The sides were alright but if you don't get the main course right, I'm not coming back for sides that I can make at home. My wife's beef was alright but I would rather go to Windy City a little bit down the road. It tasted like the bread was stale. My kids hot dogs were dry. They didn't even eat it and they eat hot dogs. The place itself looked a little run down but it's been there for a while so it's not like it was terrible. For the age of the building it was whatever to me In conclusion do not go here for BBQ. Nick needs a lesson on BBQ. How he has 5 locations baffles me. Do people have the idea that this is real BBQ? If they do, they should try hopefully any other place that has BBQ in it's name and they will not be disappointed.

No no no, I am truly repulsed. We have never been to the restaurant but ordered delivery and it was awful. Got the brisket and chicken salad. The salad was pretty solid and I would order that if I was forced to eat here again but the brisket was disgusting and so were the vegetables and Mac n cheese. We didn't care for the bbq sauce either. I wish I could have my money back. :(

Been slowly working my though the menu. All has been surprisingly good. BBQ is ok, but I really like some of their other offerings. Good prices too. Fast Service.

Meh nicks used to be one of my favorite places to go to until recently. I ordered a shake and it took literally 25 minutes for this shake to come out. Totally unbelievable. I do like their chili they put barbecue sauce in it and it's delicious. Avoid the slice of pizza at all costs!! Just saying. It was the worst pizza ever. They should take it off the menu. Their beef ribs are fantastic. So delicious. They have average meats and they advertise Vienna beef hot dog but it may be all beef but I question if it's actually a Vienna. The grilled chicken sandwich is ok. I love they have 7up and cherry rc on fountain. That's awesomeness in a cup. I could go on and on as I've had most of their items but go ahead and try em for yourself. They aren't too bad. Just the wait can get ya.

BOILED MEAT....This place claims to be a bbq place but most of their bbq food tastes boiled.... it tastes like boiled meat slightly turned on a grill to give an illusion of bbq'd meat.....then on top of that, they drench the boiled meat in bbq sauce....thats what the meat from the place tastes like....boiled meat...my coworkers agree...Dont expect open pit style bbq...dont expect chicago style ribs....this is not the kind of ribs and rib tips you get in the city...NOT EVEN CLOSE...it doesnt taste like real bbq... FROZEN SHRIMP...on all 3 occasions i ordered shrimp, a few pieces were frozen....the first time i called to complain, they told me they would have to charge ANOTHER DELIVERY FEE for a replacement. i declined and i never received a replacement. I gave nicks 2 more chances because my coworkers were ordering...FROZEN AGAIN....i didnt even bother to call. HAIR... yess, my coworker found hair in his soup...hah! i took the opportunity to visit this place in the flesh...if you wont DINE IN at a barn, you wont eat here either...the place looks so outdated...everything looks cheap and worn out...from the door handles to the tables to the floor to the bathroom....i wouldnt be surprised if i saw a mice in the kitchen...it feels old but not in a vintage well kept way...i wouldnt dare dine in at this place...i was on the phone when i walked in...the call immediately dropped...i checked my phone and i saw no bars....lol...no service... Their Grecian rotisserie chicken is probably the best thing they have to offer....its okay...i dont know why they give you lemons..who squeezes sour lemon juice on rotisserie chicken?...maybe an orange slice would make more sense... The rudeness here is typical everywhere these days...typical minimum wage employee with a TIRED attitude... Dont waste your money here if you want authentic bbq food... if you like BOILED MEAT then this is your paradise.

Had the rib tips, which was our waitresses recommendation as her favorite dish. Good portion just a little too much fat on meat that seemed microwave reheated and on the dry side . Exceptional malt and a really nice high school waitress named "Miranda" cute as a button and attentive.

Nicks is always a good stop. Their ribs fall off the bone & their bbq sauce is super yummy sweet. I'm not a big fan of their rice & potato salad; they're SOOOO bland~but otherwise, it is a good place for fast American comfort food.

I have drove past this place a few times, decided to stop in. Moderately clean, staff was friendly, although they seemed more interested in chatting with each other, and the menu... Well confusing. A little confused to why this place has Italian food, like chicken Parmesan and a meatball sandwich and other odd-end items. I was excepting more of, well bbq... They don't have corn bread on the menu, but they have tamales? Oh they also sell lottery tickets. Gamble while you eat. Overall I would probably not return...

The rib dinner is really delicious, but the service is not that great depending on which employee is there

I live right around the corner from Nicks Barbecue. I really like their ribs and fried seafood. The people that work there are nice. They also sell RC Cola which is my favorite soda pop.

Great place to stop by and grab a burger. I love their fries, I usually have the burger or steak sand which. I know it's a BBQ joint but I have never had it. They always have daily specials. The soup was good you can tell it's canned but on a cold day it was great. If you want a burger or gyro stop by!

Over the years this place has great. Always ordered the chicken tenders meal. Well now times have changed to the point where the chicken now always tastes freezer burnt. My father ordered the combo sandwich. And they completely forgot to add the sausage on it. They said we can make you a new sandwich the next morning. We go there and they literally gave us sausage on bread. No sauce, dry as the baking desserts. Also why did you guys have to take the cheep way out to now sell lottery tickets? I can't even see the person behind the counter anymore! You guys are now sellouts! I really hope this McDonald's that's being built RIGHT next door takes you out of business for good. I'm sorry but the food and service has really gone out the window.

I work right by this place and it is a great spot since variety in this warehousy area is not great, Nick's Barbeque is the best place to go. I am not a fan of trying new things but their gyros and chicken gyros always tastes great. Just recently I tried their chicken shishkabob and I was pleasantly surprised - it was great shishkabob! :-] Some other few meals i tried over the years and it is never disappointing, maybe one time or two...But the owner will always makes it right, no matter what. Great place - stop in if you are not from the area and just passing by. Oh, and I almost forgot - they also have beer. Great if you are not at work!

I come here for lunch every once in a while. Good gyros and chicken kabobs/sandwiches, tasty fries. Very friendly service. Pretty good prices too. I'll be back again.

I've never had a bad experience at Nick's, and I'm there with my family A LOT--they've started predicting our orders the moment we walk in the door. The gyros, chicken kabobs, greek salad, chicken tenders, and turkey club are all excellent choices. Their fries are always hot and fresh, never stale or greasy. They have some awesome fried potato wedges too. If none of that appeals to you, there are about 35 other menu items that are sure to appeal to you.

Let's just say that I absolutely love this place!! The prices are very reasonable, and they have really good ribs! The BBQ sauce is amazing! This particular night I was craving ribs, but did not feel like cooking because I just drove from Skokie to Joliet after a long work day. Anyhow Nicks was the choice! I took my boyfriends order over the phone, and he gave me a fried chicken dinner originally, but changed to a half slab. You know not even five mins later I still ordered the wrong thing, but it was cool because I just added a slab of ribs for him, and I got to try some of that chicken. I was very pleased that when I got home everything was still piping hot! My rib tips were amazing! My sides were rice pilaf, Mac -n- Cheese, and Garlic bread. I didn't give Nicks a 5 star review because of the Mac -n- Cheese. It was absolutely horrid. Now I love to eat, and anytime I don't eat something because of taste then we have an issue! This tasted like it was made from a box and the cheese is powder! Four things I absolutely detest in a restaurant is precooked bacon, instant mashed potatoes, fake eggs, and not using real cheese! I think Nicks needs to reevaluate that recipe because it is a massive #fail

First time customer via Groupon. I'm a bit of a BBQ connoisseur, in that I can debate the differences of Memphis, Kansas City, and Carolina style BBQ all day long and call it a day well spent. Sixteen bucks for a drink, pulled pork, and half a rack of ribs, plus THREE sides. Fries were good - crispy outside and soft in the middle. Macaroni and cheese was homemade and good. I took over half of it home with me. The lunch rush was hopping, and service was quick. Lots of call-in orders kept the line moving. Restaurant and restrooms were clean and the staff was very polite and efficient. The pulled pork was over-sauced, but that is more of a personal preference - I like my pulled pork lightly sauced. The ribs were moist, tender, fell off the bone cleanly, and the sauce and rub was BBQ'd in perfectly. The portion sizes are huge - they could knock 20% off their portions and I would still call it a good deal. The menu is likewise gigantic, with burgers, gyros, brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken (wings and half and quarter chicken servings), something like 15 different side dishes, tacos, quesedillas, and other stuff. Overall, this is a great joint. It isn't fancy, but it doesn't half to be. Great food, fast service, and fantastic prices. I highly recommend, and it is now on my regular list of eateries. Also, their Dr. Pepper was a little extra syrupy, and so much the better for it - probably the best fountain Dr. Pepper I've ever had.

My favorite spot in Romeoville for a quick meal. Enjoyed everything I've ever ordered there. My personal recommendations are the ribs, beef ribs, seafood platter, and jambalaya.

My faith in Nicks is restored. After my last visit at another location I was concerned. My concern ended with the first bite, I had a beef and it was delicious hot and wet. We also had ribs, burgers and taco's. The burgers are big and tasty. Surprising the taco's are pretty darn good also. Big menu with lots of options. We called the order in but service was a bit slow but it was the lunch rush. 5 happy bellies later and no complaints.
