My 4-Star review is for the thin-crust pizza!!!! YUM!!! They make a VERY nice NY style thin crust pie at Marisa's. Halfway in btw a cracker thin and a hand tossed, and I LOVE the flour on the crust. With a lot of pizzas, the crust is sometimes an afterthought, but NOT Marisa's. I enjoy getting to the crust on this za. I also like that they throw your slices back into the oven to get the crust nice and crispy again....this makes a BIG difference when you order slices anywhere you go. Take note!! If your local pizzeria isn't doing this, compare the slice to when you order a full pie and you should notice a HUGE difference in crust texture. They look to have other decent daily specials here for lunch, but I have yet to explore the rest of the menu b/c I can't get past ordering the thin crust za. The good news is that I definitely see other patrons ordering the lunch specials, so the rest of the menu must be pretty decent as well. Update to come later!

Our office used to really like this place, but will now be sticking with Jake's Pizza, Il Forno or the new Mod is really good. This was the second time in a row that we were shorted on a slice. First time didn't think much of it, but when it happened again we decided we would call and let them know. Wow! When we got yelled at saying that we only ordered one slice of cheese and there was absolutely no compromising with them what so ever just..."you only order one." Well our below receipt show's we ordered two cheese, I watched you count the order on the receipt when you were ringing up the order and finally you punched our "free slice" card four times. So long Marisa's. Eh! So this was what you call a subpar pizza experience. First of all, seven dollars for a lunch isn't too cheap. The drink included was tiny, had way too much ice. My main issue about the pizza, was the way that it was packaged to go. By the time I got to my location which was literally 10 minutes from the place, the top paper plate that was placed over the hot pizza slice when removed, also removed the ENTIRE layer of cheese on the slice. As you can imagine, this REALLY ground my gears, because cheese is is my favorite thing on a pizza. And when you order one slice that's just cheese and the cheese is removed it's no longer a pizza.Bad deal, bad packaging, nothing special about the cheese-less-pizza that I had. all in all, don't think I'll be coming back.

I like the slices here and when you do order...you get a punch card for a free slice or sandwich. A lot of parking as its in the mall next to subway. I liked it. :)

Let me begin by saying if I could leave zero or negative stars, I would. I just got back from getting a slice of pizza and experienced the absolute worst service and was treated so poorly. I went to Marisa's because I had a coupon (from one of those fundraising booklets GBN students sell) and wanted some pizza. The man at the counter was fairly friendly until I handed over my coupon and immediately he became rude and short with me. As soon as he turned his back he began speaking in Spanish with another man working there and was SO incredibly rude. Um excuse me, maybe if you're going to talk about me in another language make sure I can't understand what you're saying first? On top of that, as soon as my pizza was ready he tossed it towards me without putting it in a bag (seriously, you want me to take my pizza and drive home with it between two flimsy paper plates?!) . When I asked for a bag he acted as if it was an incredible inconvenience. Seriously, their pizza is not even that good, I've had frozen pizza that was tastier than Marisa's. Don't waste your time here, there's a Rosati's right down Dundee that has FAR better pizza and there are plenty of other pizza places nearby. With such horrible service there is no way I will ever waste my money here again.

White pizza & baked mostaccioli pizza is so good. Also very good Italian salad dressing on the garden salad. Some staff members could be a little friendlier and I don't understand why the 75 cent charge for refills on the soda but you get a free pizza slice with their punch card after buying 4 slices so I guess I can't complain.

Been going here for 4 years every Monday. I always get a slice or two of pizza, which is pretty good. My only complaint is a small drink cup is abnormally small, but they do allow refills for 25 cents. They also have a punch card for free pizza, which I use.

For pizza as fast food, this is as good as it gets. Fast service, decent pizza, clean, excellent air conditioning and a couple of flat screen tvs. Better than Pizza Hut, Dominos or Sbarro. Reasonably priced.

The thin crust pizza is good. It's classic and simple. It's has a floury crust that is flat all the way to the edge. The sauce is on the sweet side and has a higher than normal acidity that gives the sauce a bright flavor. The meats and veggies are good quality. The ungreasy, triangular-cut slices offer a fresh, clean pizza experience.

Their pizza is nasty! I felt like the floor of a taxi cab after having a slice of their cheese pizza. Plus the morons they've got working here aren't worth the headache. I ordered a slice to go and while I waited for Cheech to heat it up, a group of people walked in and ordered. They all got their food while I waited for mine. I asked why it's taking so long to re-heat a slice of pizza and they couldn't find it. One of the imbeciles put it back in the glass case. After standing there with a stupid look on his face, he put it in a bag and put it to the side like I'm not there waiting to leave. I told him to wake up and get a tune up for his brain. What a group of mental defectives they've got manning the counter at this joint. Waste of time.

I was going here back when two brothers from Brooklyn, NY owned it. Then a cranky guy owned it and now finally Raul. Raul has done an excellent job and is very friendly (he worked there through the two prior owners, so he knows the business). He brought it back to where it was under the two brothers from NY. When I used to work in Northbrook I was there for lunch at least twice a week. The pizza is delicious and when they warm up the slices in the oven, the crust is even better. The cheese calzone is another favorite. Frankly I don't think I've ever tried anything else on the menu. This place is about as close to NY style pizza you will get in the Chicagoland area. My advice, don't pass by this place without stopping for a slice or two. You will go out of your way to go back.

Marisa's is a wonderful little place for great pizza by the slice for not a lot of money. I'm here 2 or 3 times a week for lunch. The white pizza is spectacular.

You can get pizza by the slice here and it's actually GOOD. They usually have at least 5 varieties at lunchtime, in addition to a different lunch special every day on the cheap. This is actually some of my favorite pizza in Chicagoland (gasp!) In such a boring strip of Northbrook, near all the corporate offices, this is a gem worth checking out.

Marisa's needs more love. Awesome lunch place in the Northbrook area. Big menu, fast service and slick selection of pizza to-go. I say slick because they often have a wide variety of types and styles of pizza by the slice (e.g., ny style, pan, super thin, etc.). I usually opt for the Chicken Parm sandwich which is heaven. Good prices.

Since the my job site (Goodwill) opened on September 23 2011. I've gone to Marisa's pizza for lunch a lot. Not only they have great selection of pizza and daily lunch and dinner special, when I order for delivery it is nice and hot. My favorite sandwich is beef and sausage combo Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow I was happy to run into this place. Pizza by the slice that is actually pretty good and some great sandwiches. The prices are very reasonable if not even cheap and if you are looking for a lunch during the week they have great deals. I saw one guy say that the staff has a bad attitude... I have been there twice now and both times the staff was super friendly and always smiling.

I can't give them no stars because the food is ok. But the attitude of the staff is deplorable! I started ordering from them when Moved to Northbrook 5 years ago and got an attitude on the phone when I asked about their menu. Needless to say I never called back or ordered from there again. My father went in a while ago and ordered a family size with cheese and sausage and was told cheese comes on all the pizzas why are you ordering cheese. Decent food bad attitudes, plent of other great places to get pizza that have even better food and are polite.

Good place. Pizza is good. Usually get baked mostaccioli and side salad. The baked most can serve two. The salad has green pepper, red onion, olives, tomato, etc.

Marisa's makes a fantastic thin crust pizza. The cheese has a wonderful flavor and they use just the right amount of sauce. Their crust is crunchy on the bottom, soft on the top and not at all greasy. Anytime I order a pizza from somewhere else, it's never as good as Marisa's.

Been here for lunch plenty of times. They have good italian beef and some damn good thin crust pizza. There are always lunch specials so it doesn't get too costly but it is quite packed during the lunch hour. Definitely one of the better NY style pizza joints around here.
