Nice staff, prices are good, and the food is decent. It is not exactly gourmet, but when the entire family can eat for around $25 bucks (and bring home leftovers), what do you expect? If you dine in the tea they bring out is actually really good. For what i expect going here, or any Chinese restaurant like this, it is good.

This is not an authentic Chinese restaurant...it's not even a good Americanized Chinese restaurant (I'd rather go to panda express instead). I ordered their beef with green peppers and tofu with veg. Both dishes pretty much had the same sauce on them with just different things in them. Both dishes were extremely salted and the sauce was overly thick with corn starch. Each piece of vegetable or meat required 2 spoonful of rice to be edible. They didn't have chopsticks at the table so I asked them for some. The waiter brought some out but they tasted extremely strongly of bitter bamboo that I couldn't even use them. Their mango slush was pretty good, though I'd skip the tapioca (it was tasteless and the cold slushy made it hard instead of soft and chewy).

A wonderful place to eat. Good food, good prices, and good decor. Prices are great and portions are large.

Great food and great service I randomly decided to give it a try and I am really pleased. The portions of food were big and the price was right were it should be. Highly recommend everyone to try this place out.

Finally a very good, reasonable Chinese Restaurant in Carpentersville. Actually it's the best one we've had in this area in a long, long time. As the other comments suggest, they have great food prepared fresh and delicious, not greasy or old tasting. The prices are great for what you get, and plenty of leftovers. I will not go anywhere else, if they're not open, we don't get Chinese! Very clean, and pleasant, helpful and friendly staff too!

We dined in. The atmosphere was nice and clean. We received very friendly, timely service and hot tea to start our meal. The prices compare with Gilberts and HKC, but the portions are amazing. The combo meals are a great value. We all took home half of our meal. With the bill came complimentary almond cookies and fortune cookies. We were very satisfied and will be frequent guests.

This place has pretty good food. I've been coming to this restaurant since high school. Which has been more years than I care to admit. They have two locations, same owners, slightly different name; within walking distance of each other. The one I'm reviewing is the newer one. I dipped the stars down to three because of the service on my last two visits. My Mom, boyfriend and I came in at 8:25 (they close at 9) and they refused to seat us. They said we could do take out only. There wasn't any other customers in the place and three staff members (that I could see) standing around talking. Hold on a second, why are you open until 9 but won't seat us 35 minutes before you close? The food always comes out fast and we weren't planning on staying past 9! So we head over to the other location. Now it is 8:30, same thing. They wouldn't seat us either. Ridiculous! Change your hours, if you only want to serve food until 8:30. As I said they do have good food and we've been coming here for years. So we give it another shot... Well before they close. We ordered the dinner for two. Which comes with soup. Egg drop or Hot & Sour. I'm not a huge fan of either. So I asked if I could get Wonton instead. It has not been a problem in the past. The waiter said no. I offered to pay the difference or an up charge. Still the answer was no. He said if you want a different soup than I will have to charge you for that separately. I look at the prices, and the Wonton was more than the egg drop and the same price as the hot & sour. Really?! So, why is this an issue? I couldn't give you my money a few weeks earlier, when you refused to seat us. Now your splitting hairs over soup? The rest of the meal went downhill from there. Oh, and the food came out in fifteen minutes. Plenty of time for an 8:25 seating. Get it together New China Restaurant & New Hunan Restaurant!

I ordered carry-out from this place and I was not overly impressed. My Mongolian Beef was more like teriyaki green pepper. There was very little beef in the dish, but a lot of green pepper. The portion size was relatively small compared to other Chinese restaurants. The egg roll was decent, as was the smallish coffee cup of egg drop soup. New Hunan up the street (which I understand is the same ownership) is a lot better in my opinion. It was worth giving them a try, but I doubt I will be going back any time soon.

When I am craving some good Chinese food I hit up New China. The staff is always friendly, food is good as it gets, and when I order it to go it is ready in a jiffy.

Not bad, just nothing to write home about. If you are looking to fill up on cheap food this is the spot. You can get lunch for around $5-6 that will be enough to fill you up and have left overs. Unfortunately, it is not anything that will make you want to come back. I had the sesame chicken and it was a bit overcooked. The egg rolls are on the small side and not all that good.

I hope this is the correct restaurant, kiddy corner from the shell gas station. There food is awesome, egg tools are perfect, lunch meals start just over $5.00, hot tea and water included. The staff is friendly . The facility is super clean. Wash rooms are spotless. I try to visit every week since I work down the road. I'll try and get a picture posted of the front entrance for all to view.

New China Restaurant, what a bargain! I stopped into the restaurant this Sunday afternoon and was greeted by friendly staff who asked us to sit where we pleased. I was starving and planned on ordering anything and everything on the menu that my little heart desired. My boyfriend and I were recovering from a wild night out on the town. My boyfriend got a mango smoothie to start out with and it was definitely made to order with real fruit, the also brought out a pot of warm tea which I appreciated on a cold dreary day. After that I ordered a bowl of wonton soup and started us out with the mini pupu platter ( 2 eggrolls, 2 beef skewers and 2 crab rangoons). My soup was quite delightful. Broth tasted homemade and was loaded with fresh veggies and bbq pork. The wontons themselves weren't as tender and little doughy, still very good in general though. The pupu platter was full of awesome. The eggrolls were great and fresh, beef was succulent and moist, the crab rangoons were also very good if you prefer the cream cheese over the crab. For out entrees were ordered chicken fried rice, orange chicken and crispy shrimp. When the plates came out we were both in awe by the size each order! In all honesty what we ordered probably could have fed a family of 5 or 6. Everything was delicious and we definitely left with full bellies! After barely putting a dent into our table of food we boxed everything up and most likely have food for dinner and lunch tomorrow for the both of us. I was delighted to see our bill was so low for the amazing service and the shear amount of great food we got. I will be coming back for more great Chinese soon.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
