Love "The Joey" sub. Love the brownies! Love the new pulled pork with coleslaw (you can order it without the bun). So delicious! Staff is friendly and genuinely likes to get to know their customers. So, if you're an impatient person who dislikes small talk - not sure if you will enjoy Mario's Deli. You can probably pre-order your sub and then just pick it up if you are in a hurry to get your sandwich made and handed off to you. Mario's has a booth at Music in the Park every Wednesday night in Bensenville (thru August) - so be sure to check them out there also! They're open until 7pm most evenings! Love this place and its rare to have owners who actually seem to genuinely care about you as a person. You're not just a number at Mario's!

Small town Deli with big taste! I'm such a fan of this family owned spot. My family got a variety of pastas and they all tasted amazing. Great spot to take-n-go or eat there. The guys at Marios were so friendly even when we had tons of questions. Sandwiches, pasta, antipasto and much more.My kids got a piece of chocolate cake and my 6 yr old daughter preceeded to do a cheer for Marios after eating.

Stopped in here for my second visit to pick up some sandwiches. Ordered the Italian and Prosciutto subs and their Macaroni salad. Their macaroni salad is made with the pasta shape that I think is called dialetti (?) And has some corn, green peas, and a little red onion or shallots in it and it is good. I've had it on both visits and will make it my regular side. The sandwiches are also very good. Nice bread, fresh ingredients and they don't skimp on them either. Very solid sandwiches. I am looking forward to trying other ones here. Service was very friendly, always a plus. I like this place. If you are in the area they are definitely worth checking out. Cheers to all

I've never actually been here, but my job orders catering from here at month end every once in a while. The subs are absolutely HUGE!!!! The only ones they order are American & Italian. The Italian is good. The ravioli taste like plastic to me. The meatballs are pretty good. They have this pasta salad with ditallini pasta and corn it's absolutely AMAZING! It's my fave by far.

Goodness sakes, what a gem of deli this place is! Fresh pasta salads, outstanding menu of sub sandwiches, soups, mouth watering desserts, and to-go pasta dishes for reheating later in your jammies and slippers. I had a simple turkey and swiss on wheat bread and it was 10 on the 1 thru 10 sandwich rating scale. Plenty of tables for a nice spot to sit down and eat lunch! Free soda refills. On my next visit I'm for sure getting dinner and dessert too.

Great service and great food. Their Italian sub is the best I've found - Southside or Northside!

Frequent visitor to this joint. You'll find it in the strip mall below a condo building near the Bensenville train station. The cold case has several soups and salads (think pasta, potato, veggie etc) to add to your meal options. They have lots of chips (big bags and individual sizes) and a wall of cold drinks or fountain drinks to choose from. Prices range $5.50 for 7" going up to $9 for 12inch subs. My favorite is the Joey sub. They recently added a members club through your email which can provide discounts. Wednesdays in the summer are packed for Bensenville's "Music In the Park", so you won't find parking for blocks. Come grab a sub and enjoy the festivals.

They make a great Italian beef with several cheeses available to pick from. They have this amazing garlic pasta that is pretty addicting. I started buying it by the pound. Just tried a baked mostaccioli today and it was pretty tasty. These guys are versatile and are very friendly. They take pride in their food and you can tell with every bite. Haven't tried their chilies or soups yet but based on their others items I have a feeling their winners.

Super nice staff and very good subs! The soup wasn't too bad either. I must say that they don't skimp and pile the meat up high! Definitely a step up from subway to say the least. Only thing i didn't like is that i didn't have more appetite to try all their salads and soups.

I just placed another order for the company I worked for and must say its always a pleasure ordering there and talking to Joe...he is very efficient and remembers what we like and how we like our order. We usually stick with our favorites which are: *Meat Lasagna *Cheese Lasagna These trays are HUGE and heavy and just awesome. He gives a ton of food and its really good. *Meatballs Everyone goes nuts for these. MUST try! *Italian Beef The beef has a definitive spice in it that makes it really yummy. I will have to go in there for lunch one day and order just an individual meal as we always just cater from here but Im sure its just as good!

Mario's is all about the hype of mediocrity in my book. Order the Italian sub and you'll immediately notice the cuts of meat are strategically folded offering a nucleus of dense compaction That's a visual ploy, or if anything, just try to chew that mass of confusion. Speaking of confusion...the "Bread' is soft and fluffy. That would be spot on if served on a New Orleans Beef or Shrimp Po' Boy! Not Here! The soft bread has no substance at all. The "Brick" of meat gets continually squeezed with every bite and eventually compressed as a projectile in any direction you desire! Everything about a deli should be upfront and in your face. Not here...your sandwich is prepared behind a secret wall. That's a visual screw up for a self proclaimed deli. Ordering at Mario's really tests your patience. From the time you order until the time it actually makes it into the bag, your life flashes before your eyes... I remembered when I first learned to ride a 2-wheel bike; I remembered learning to drive a stick shift; I remembered slamming my first can of Old Style Beer; I remembered walking in the door over 20 minutes ago! The fact that your written order is handed off to someone hiding behind a wall to prepare it "secretly" is disappointing and frankly annoying. Mario's employees walk around casually with smiles on their faces as they fill lunch time catering orders while you do a slow burn...waiting for your sandwich.

Great little deli! Ordered the 7 inch Italian and it was wonderful. Fresh meats and love the dressing they put on it. The lettuce was nice and crisp too, which is all too rare these days in delis. Had and pasta salad too, and it was okay. They're very nice and took the time to ask how I was doing, and not in that " I could really care less" way, but genuinely out of kindness. Good food, food people.

6/16/2015 12:30pm, ordered a 12" Italian sub, took 20 minutes. WOW! Nothing spectacular about the sub, next time I'll hit Jimmy Johns, they have better bread.

Really good sandwiches and really good prices. So why only 2-stars? The customer service is HORRIBLE. Two weeks ago, I waited 18 minutes for one cold sandwich. I learned that day to never go there between 11am and 1pm. Their catering orders take priority over their waiting customers. They took my order, and they took my money. Then they made me wait 18 minutes for a sandwich. Today I waited until after the lunch rush. This time, the owner took my order and simply walked away. After a couple minutes, my sandwich was place in the window, where it sat for several more minutes. I was turning to leave when the BOH employee finally brought my sandwich out and took my payment. All the while, the owner was busy conducting (what looked like) employee reviews, in full view of the waiting customers. They make it seem like you should feel privileged to get to eat their food. Just once I'd like to feel like you value my business as a paying customer.

I'm working in the area for the day and looking for something good and local. I looked up places to eat and saw Mario's on the list. Honestly, Mario's was the closest so I decided to try it out. I'm so glad I did. I ordered the Italian sub lunch combo. The sandwich was delicious! It was full of meat! No paper thin slices of meat but hearty portions. I also ordered the cucumber, tomato, and red onion salad with feta. That was so good, too! I wished I ordered a bigger portion. I will definitely be making a trip out there for some more food.

Been going here for years. My favorite subs in the area hands down! Generous with the meats too. The staff is super friendly. The owner Joe is a really nice guy and very personable. Great soups too. Very nice desert selection. I would highly recommend this place to anybody.

This place is the real deal. Their homemade pasta salad and olive giardiniera is AMAZING! Such friendly service. Very very reasonable prices. I love it here.

Ordered two 12" Italian subs that fed 4 adults and tasted very fresh on super soft bread! I will be back and recommend given the price is less than freaky fast place.

I originally tried this place because it's right next to my job - but boy am I glad I did! Anything that I've ordered is delicious... The Marinated Chicken and Cheese, the Chicken Salad and the Italian Beef are my favorites. The people are really friendly and always remember my name and what I usually order. I have brought friends there and definitely recommend it to others!

I've been going to Mario's my entire life..I'm about to turn 24 and they recently celebrated their 20th year in business. There's a true sense of family there and you can taste the passion that goes into their great food. My personal favorites-- Chicken Parm Sub w marinara on the side (SOO good), and the Joey Sub. If you have a sweet tooth try the Tiramisu, you won't be disappointed.

I have been to many sandwich shops, and this one reigns supreme. From their freshly cooked pastas to their delicious made-to-order subs with imported Italian meats and cheeses; everything is great! Just walking into the place, smelling the pastas and fresh bread, will make you salivate. Joey and his brother will make you feel welcome and are great at helping you decide what to get. Also, I have not had better gnocchi than the gnocchi at Mario's Deli II. That alone is worth the drive. The subs come in to different sizes 6" and 10" with plenty of meat and cheese to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites. The pastas and sides are all excellent and you get a good amount of food for your money! I highly recommend the Joey's sub, gnocchi and the ravioli. I have to make the drive at least every 3-6 months to get my fix and my friends and brothers get upset if I go without them.

I live in the building and it took me months to give Mario's a try. I used to go down to Jersey Mike's in Elmhurst for subs until I tried their "Joey's Sub". Great quality, great prices, friendly staff (at times a bit under-staffed) and now my biggest problem is they are too close being downstairs and I have little eating discipline. They've won me over!

Great sandwich shop! The people are incredible (Joe knew my name by the second visit!). It's clear that they are committed to using top notch ingredients in their sandwiches; the vegetables are fresh, the bread is soft, and the meats are meticulously sliced. And their tiramisu is to die for!

  • Grace L.

Service here is impeccable and fast. Extremely friendly staff and makes the waiting here in the lunch line bearable. A little more money than your normal Subway..but here you can get a huge variety of sammies..you can build your own. I like the beef sandwiches, the pasta salads and the tiramisu. The salads are not that great, tuna/chicken salad are ok. Great if you know what you like on your sammies..they are willing to work with your preferences.

Delicious and fresh subs, amazing pasta salads (I've tried a few and have yet to be let down), friendly and fast staff...oh, and low prices! Need I say more?

Came here twice to have lunch. Great subs. Try the italian beef or italian sausage. Even better if you order the eggplant parm sub and add an italian sausage. ;D Very homemade. Huge portions. I can never finish my 6". It's a lot bigger than they say it is.

My favorite from here is definitely the "Joey". I usually get it in a wrap (no price difference). My biggest gripe with this place has nothing to do with the food. Ok, so of course they get busy during the lunch rush but it seems like they need maybe one more person helping out back there. Ive stopped calling in my order ahead because it absolutely takes them much longer this way. I was quotes 45 minute wait on an order where as a walk in waits about 5-10. Huh??? Just go in and order is my advice. Other than that, this place is the shiz.

Fresh made sandwiches and friendly service keep me coming back to this place. Salads homemade pasta I haven't had a bad meal here. The spinach lasagna is my favorite. Sub sandwiches are excellent. You can dine in and they take credit cards. Right across from the village hall and metra station in Bensenville.

Best sandwiches ever! You have to try their Joey special. Salads are very good and fresh. Don't forget the pasta lasagna, spaghetti ravioli are excellent!

This Deli is fantastic! We ordered lunch here for our office. We placed an order by fax, called in with the credit card number and boom...we had lunch in about an hour. The ingredients they used for their 6" and 10" subs are super fresh. The veggies are crisp and ripe and flavorful. The sandwiches aren't covered in dressing, mayo or mustard. They don't need it! Everything else is just seasoned to perfection. Even their pasta is good, and the portion is large. The pasta's can be ordered either a la carte or as a meal. The meal includes a salad and roll.

  • Luis B.

Def one of my faves. The Joey and Italians subs are tops, but I like to get them rolled in wheat wraps since its a tad bit healthier. Didn't like the fact that I tried ordering ahead and the lady on the phone said it would take a couple of hours! Isn't that the point of calling ahead! To avoid the line! You're better of walking in and placing your order, they can handle lunch rushes better in person. Still, with that complaint, I'm a repeat customer.

This deli is almost as good as it gets. The staff is very friendly and makes it a point to remember the regulars. Aside from great bread, quality meat, and fresh ingredients; thier homemade salads are a sleeper. It is very clear that they utilize fresh ingredients and prepare their food daily which sets deli's apart from the chain competetors.

Perfect sandwiches made fresh, Great pastas and salads. Absolutely nothing bad about this place. Have been a customer for years and will continue to shun other deli's in the area that just cant compare. They know who they are!. always warm friendly service, and Joey ROCKS!
