It's OK. You're paying top dollar. For average food. I won't go again. If you're in Kaneohe, go to Kim Chee 1. Better tasting, bigger portions

This place used to be the bomb. Looks can be deceiving because when you sit down, it's a crao hole but the food was really good. I used to hit the meat jhun all the time with the boys from school ( also helped that we knew the owners) but it really has gone down. The food is okay and the prices is reasonable but definitely alot less than before. I really like the miso soup with a little rice in it. I think it's time to let the owners give up and retire. Let them enjoy life. Have the kids work at the restraunt or let it go. At least this place is better than kim chee 1 which is down the road.

Been going there for years and I've always good food there. Its run by nice honest elderly Korean couple and if you order takeout you miss out imho. You get the full on spread when you eat there - you get miso, and various assortment of pickled vegetables as well as KimChee. Its a bare bones no frills dining experience but the food is good.

Okay, so, I'm really sorry but if I could do a minus star I so would. I got a meat jun plate last night for my daughter and for the first time in her life got super sick in the middle of the night and threw everything up 2 times! Not going there again.

Visit: 4/11/09 - Had take out lunch. Ate the BBQ chicken and Meat Jun. The BBQ chicken smelt really good. I was drooling and driving faster than I should so I can get home to eat my lunch. Then I sat down to ear and said WTF. This was the worst BBQ chicken I have ever eaten. Meat Jun was not good either. I didn't think BBQ chicken could be messed up, but I was wrong. I feel ripped off since I couldn't finish my meal and settled for McDonalds instead. I took this food out so I don't know about the service. I feel sorry for these 2 old people working here. Must be their retirement business. To keep themselves busy. I think they should concentrate more on retirement, rather than cooking. Just my thought. I will not come back. I am sad that I have to write such a bad review for a long time Kaneohe Restaurant. Good thing it wasn't easter when I ate here. I would have gone to Hell for swearing on a holy day.

I went the day after the great earthquake power outage. I got one of the meanest food poisonings ever, and I'm thinking whoever had the meat jun that same day would've suffered the same fate. Been here once before that and it was a decent, 3-star experience, but after I got sick I vowed never to come here again. I'm sure it's safe to go back there but I rather keep my distance.

Very disappointing. The vegetables are limited, meat flavors were very poor. Won't eat here again. Bummer. I love Korean food but this place fails miserably.

Went to Chun's with my wife to try something different in Kaneohe. She had kim chee soup and I went with the Barbecue Chicken. The quality of food was mediocre to bad. The service, atmosphere, and restroom were all poor. I heard it was much better in the past but it appears its glory days are far behind it. We won't be going back and we suggest you not waste your time or money.

After you get your food, don't expect to see your waiter again. He is too busy watching Korean soap opera with his wife a.k.a. the cook. We had to call him over just to get more water to quench the thirst their salt filled food induces. The place is a total hole in the wall and we were the only ones eating there at 5 p.m. Now I know why. We had the bbq mix plate. The man doo was crunchy but not much filling. Kal bi and chicken were average. Mix vegtables were super small portion sizes with no offers of refills. Soup was decent.

Chun's BBQ makes my top 5 list of worst restaurants anywhere. I ordered a mixed plate and couldn't believe how poor the quality of food was. The meat tasted spoiled and the BBQ chicken had not flavor + it was slightly raw. Even their side dishes tasted rancid. I would never eat here again even if it was free. In fact I would never eat here again if someone paid me. The place was filthy both in the kitchen and in the dinning room. The more I think about it I don't know why I even ate there. Run while you can!!!

Chun's BBQ is an old school, NO frills restaurant in Kaneohe's Kahuhipa St. ghetto. I have friends that swear by their food, but it's hit or miss for me. Stick to the BBQ mix plate, it's pretty mean.

If I could give 0 stars I would. If you want food poisoning this is a place to go. The food is tasteless, the meat jun has more egg than meat and the kalbi has absolutely no taste. After eating our plate lunches we all got sick, so unless you enjoy spending a day or two near your bathroom, I'd avoid this place!

Came here with a co-worker since we were in the area and he wanted to check it out. Don't bother with this place. We were there from 11am to Noon (primetime lunch hour) and not a single person came through the door. Felt pretty bad for this place. But then the husband/owner is not the friendliest guy and there were huge cockroaches scampering throughout our time there. Knocking on wood as I write this that I don't get a date with the toilet bowl that others have gotten while eating here. Feel bad because the food is halfway decent, but the place looks and feels filthy.

One word describes this place, cheap. Not to be mistaken with bargain or value. I ordered the lunch special for $5.95. It included one scoop of rice, a very small portion of kim chee, sprouts, cabbage and one chicken thigh & one piece bbq pork. Everyone gave it such bad reviews I had to see for myself. While I did not eat spoiled food like other Yelpers, i had to say that my meat and veggies had way too much sodium. The food was just okay. Its a mainstay institution of Kaneohe, but the floor is peeling, the aircon barely works and the place is filthy so I ordered take out. I hate to say it, but I wouldnt recommend this Korean BBQ restaurant.

When it comes to cheap eats, and probably all of Oahu, Chun's in Kaneohe cant be beat! For $8.50 you get 3 chicken thighs,a long strip of kalbi, miso soup, the standard bowl of rice, and bottomless Kim chee! Let me know if anyone can find a similar meal that is ono, inexpensive, and could satisfy a girl in heat. Cheap eats are difficult to find these days and even more so, you have to drive a heck of a way for um! In Kaneohe, it's difficult locating a place to eat that meets my standards without having to drive to town. I must say, I go to Chun's at least 4 times a month and I always drive around thinking I'll find a place just as good or even better. This coming from a guy that lives in Mililani but is originally from Kaneohe. Some day's I'll drive from Mililani to town just to get something to eat but then end up in Kaneohe at Chun's because I can't find anyplace else that will satisfy my appetite. I know Kaneohe like the back of my hand, yet I did again today in which I spent 20 minutes aimlessly driving around Kaneohe looking for another place to eat, which I knew there haven't been any new restaurant's that opened up in Kaneohe within the past 8 days, but I figured I'd at least drive around checking anyway to end up back here again. To save all of you from the inconvenience, gas, and money; just drive straight here! Chun's is open 7 days a week and is usually never busy, except during chow time! This restaurant is ran by a grandma and grandpa, so if you're looking for hot waitresses, this place isn't for you. The service is normally good, but during rush hours, don't except to get your drink refilled or kim chee replenished unless you ask. Oh yeah, go on a cooler day because the A/C doesn't get as cold either. I swear, the A/C unit is probably as old as the people that run the restaurant but the food is worth it. This place is a hole in the wall, so if you blink or are blind in the right eye, you may miss it. Service 4 stars, because I love my old folks. Price 5 stars Quantify 5 stars, coming from a guy that eats a lot. Quality 4 stars, great for the price and quantify. I'd bet someone better quality at this price because I can find better at 25 bucks a plate. Comfort 3 stars, I like my restaurants cold like a freezer. Cleanliness 4 stars View 1, only because it's located a few block from WIndward Mall, but good luck finding anything pretty to look at in the restaurant unless you're lucky. Bathroom 4, single stall right outside the entrance(Shared Sexes). Parking 5, free and never crowded. Convenience 5, right in Kaneohe town and 20 minutes away from town.

I'll keep this short with three main reasons why this establishment received only one star. 1) Everything is overly salty, from the miso soup and coleslaw to a bamboo dish you receive along with the kimchee. 2) Their meat jun and kalbi was overly oily and again salty. 3) Service was horrendous as others have mentioned. Once you receive your saturated salty meal, the guy disappears and you are left with empty cups of water until you are ready to leave. * I have seen people comment on food poisoning and while I did experience it as well, I think it may be because of it being too oily and salty. But, with that said..I am never ever coming back.
