Best everything bagel ever!!!! This place is awesome. Good sandwiches for lunch and it is really an awesome breakfast spot. I like to get combo #1 (I think)- 2 over medium eggs, hash browns, bacon, everything bagel toasted with cream cheese! So good! That's the ticket to fueling up for a big day.

Simple and predictable, and the staff is always friendly. My dad and I meet here for lunch every once in a while, and I usually get the matzo ball soup and Grouchy sandwich combo. The soup is not the best ever, but worth getting. They put shredded carrots in it. And the sandwich is tasty enough, too, on good fresh rye. All in all an OK dining experience.

Pretty good lunch spot - basic deli fare. I dare you to try to place your order with the guy without him asking you a question or seeming impatient. It's a little game my co-workers and I play. I've only been successful once. Try it.

Now that I have been in Georgia a few months, I have found that this is the best I am going to find when it comes to Jewish Deli food.....So I am forced to raise my rating from a 2 to a 3 ....the sandwich's are good just not real big like the real New York delis.. If your used to real traditional New York Jewish Deli , I have not found one yet !

I went here for lunch and ordered a toasted turkey sandwich with side caesar salad. Nothing here was special - typical sandwich shop. The dressing is pre-packaged.

This place is great! Surprised to see mediocre reviews. Bad Management?!?! Are we talking about the same place? Great customer service and great food. I learned of this place through my job. My office orders from them for all of our company meetings. They offer a wide array of sandwiches. Which is much fresher than subway, and the bake potatoes salad is AWESOME!! My entire office eats there on a regular basis. I love this place. Would recommend it to anyone.

Best bagels around...their scallion cream cheese is to die for. I used to go here all the time, but sadly Ive moved to the other side of Atlanta. Every time I stop through town I stop to stock up on bagels and cream cheese for the house. The same guys have been working there for years and are very friendly, I've never had a bad experience there.

I came here after the morning/breakfast rush, so there weren't many bagels left. I was a little disappointed but then again maybe it's a good thing the bagels were mostly gone. FOOD: They didn't have any plain bagels to go with my lox so I opted for the sesame bagel. It was actually pretty good, the bagel was soft, and the smoked salmon was tasty. It may not be NY but it's ok.

I eat here about once a week, and I'm generally very pleased with the quality, so I'm surprised to see so many mediocre reviews. I would agree that this is a not a typical NY deli, but that's a good thing. In case y'all haven't noticed, we're in the North-Atlanta suburbs, not the East Village. People tend to think of Katz's when they think "perfect NY deli" but I honestly don't care for meat softballs in-between two slices of marbled rye, slathered with russian dressing, especially at $12-15/each. In fact, I've found most NY deli food to be largely bland, and I'm not a fan of corned beef or sauerkraut. There, I just made a bunch of Yelpster enemies. The food at Grouchy's is always pretty good; I've only ever eaten lunch here, but I've tried the salads, soups, hot & cold sandwiches and various other concoctions, are all very tasty. Just yesterday, I had a 'Sweetheart', which is a turkey wrap with honey mustard and meunster, with a side caesar salad for $8.00. Totally worth the money! The chicken philly, however, as someone mentioned previously, wasn't all that great. In their defense, though, we don't make philly sandwiches with cheez whiz here! Other than that, the fries, chips, and other sides are all usually very good. They've got free wi-fi too, if you remember to ask for the password. If you wanna see really poor execution, just visit the Rolling Reubens food truck; that's bad NY deli food!

So-so food, nothing special at all. Very poor management shows at every turn. Improper food handling skills. They will use a dirty glove to grab baked goods interchangeably with a bare hand. Most people working here have very limited English skills and poor sanitation habits. Owner is Very Grouchy indeed!, Doesn't back-up what he promises. Go elsewhere and do yourself a favor!

If you are woman you'll probably think nothing great but ok enough for lunch. If you are a New Yawker you'll think below average deli. If you are a guy you'll be thinking "WISH SANDWICH". Sorry not a fan.

Great Reuben sandwich. Good sides. Good bagels. The rest of the food is sub par. Bad customer service. Not many English speakers, but sometimes they have young workers at the front of house that are fluent. Disorganized customer service. Don't order by phone - they've never gotten our order correctly when ordering by phone.

Cajun turkey on a Kaiser roll. Spicy goodness. Fries were not hot when delivered but they fixed that fast. Couldn't figure out the Wi-Fi... it said free Wi-Fi but was secured. Must have needed to get a passphrase from the cashier or something but I didn't see anything about it. Meh, whatever. I just used my 3G connectivity. The sandwich was plenty of food and they gave plenty of fries as well. The second batch was very hot.

Heard that these were the only bagels in the area that were edible and went in this morning to pick one up. The guy behind the register was making the food and taking cash. He had a glove on one hand and nothing on the other. When he rang me up he used both hands and then went and got my bagel with same hand he gave me change with--no napkin or waxed paper. When I objected, he lied about it--said he rang me up, gave me bills and coins with one hand. I left the bagel sitting there, and then they re-sold it to someone else. I would not advise anyone to buy anything from this place. Completely unsanitary.

We have been looking for a good bagel shop where we can go an a Sunday morning and relax.. We thought we found it here. We have visited here for the past several weekends, There have been service issues which we have been overlooking. I stopped by on a weekday morning to grab a quick bagel while running errands, I ordered a simple bagel with cream cheese, very simple. I paid for my bagel, took my number and sat at a table. There were about three other tables that were occupied. I waited for over 20 minutes and no one had come by my table. Certainly, this is a long time for a bagel! I went to the counter and told the girl that i had not received my food. At first, she seemed surprised. Then she said it was because they had so many orders that it would be an even longer wait for my bagel. That was the last straw! I left the restaurant and decided to call the owner. He was losing our business and I wanted him to know why. He called later in the day and was not very friendly. He told me that as a business man, his priority would be business catering orders and if the customers in the restaurant had to wait for their food until after catering orders were done, that was fine with him. He again stated that the restaurant customers were not as important. During the conversation,Ii asked him twice to confirm that this was how he felt about the customers in his restaurant. He said "Yes, it is" He did say that if I ever came into his place again, he would give me a free bagel. I don't think it's worth waiting over 30 minutes for a bagel in a place that I'm not appreciated, even if it is free. i don't want a free bagel, I just want respect as a customer. I will never go to this place again. If you are a family looking for a place to go for a nice breakfast or lunch, stay away!

Grouchy's is a deli that makes you THINK they bake their own bagels. Ask them and they will confess that they don't. If you can never get a hot fresh out of the oven bagel then order something else at a bagel place. That's my opinion. Good place for eggs.

Ate here today with a co-worker. I had the cranberry walnut salad and it was more than palatable. The size was good for a dinner portion with strips of chicken breasts, mixed field greens, nuts, cranberries and the usual salad ingredients. The default dressing was a balsamic vinegraette that was very good. All in all a good sound salad at a reasonable price. I would grade the place higher but reserve that for a return trip, when I'll actually order a sandwich or bagel.

Not a new York deli. Doesn't have a new York menu. The quality of food is anything but new York. And the "Philly" is the worst sandwich I have ever had in my life. If you are from the northeast and want a back home deli, this isn't it.

Very nice staff and clean restaurant. I ordered the three cheese grilled cheese and deliciously crispy fries. Yum, I will return.

Oh dear. I am a very up-beat and friendly person, but go here and it is guaranteed to make you Grouchy. No pun intended. I visited Grouchy's on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and was looking forward to a quick bite and time to sit outside, enjoy a cup of coffee, and a bagel. When I got there the two tables out front (right before you enter the restaurant) were covered with dirty plates, which was not very appealing. When I got to the line, the menu was quite confusing. It is spread across two large walls and nothing really "flows". There were also two menus to look at on the counter. All 3 were not consistent (the entrees, verbiage, and font). Not one menu included the cream cheese types. When I asked what types of cream cheeses they had, I was told "everything in that fridge over there",. I walked over to see what cream cheeses they had (why is this not on the menu at a bagel shop??) I ordered a toasted bagel with lox cream cheese on the side. Simple, right? Not here. It took over 30 minutes to get my bagel, and I only got it because I had to go back up to the counter to inquire what happened. What I thought would be a quick bite to eat ended up being an 1hr+ ordeal. I ended up sitting on the side of the restaurant outside (since the two tables still had not been cleaned). The seats on the side were all chained and locked together, but I still (somehow) managed to squeeze in a seat and make the most of it. When I left, the two tables out front STILL had not been cleaned. By the way, I do not think this was a staffing issue. There were plenty of people behind the counter twiddling their thumbs doing nothing. This is clearly very poor management and service. Phew... that was a mouthful. I would save your time and money and skip this place entirely. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

Depending on what you get, it can be hit or miss here. Might have to try a few things off their abundant menu to figure out Whats good. This is probably one of the healthier lunch options in the ares wuth Jason's deli. My usual here is the tuna salad on sour dough with the baked potato salad. Their salmon sandwhiches are tasty as well. The only sub-par dishes seem to be the wraps. But definitely good selection of sandwhiches and sides that end up to be filling. I'm not quite sure how "NY" this place is, but overall the food is great, and you can easily get a meal for under $10 drink included. If you like Corner Bakery/Atlanta Bread Company style places, definitely recommend stopping by here.

I admit, I'm surprised no one has reviewed this place yet. Ah well, another first to add to my list I suppose. My mom tends to latch on to places when she discovers a new place she likes. She discovered Grouchy's sometime last summer and for months the only bagels in the house were from Grouchy's. Not that I'm complaining. They're bagels definitely don't come from a bag. They're chewy and fresh with toppings coating the whole bagel. I'm a fan of the Everything. So are a lot of other people because often they're out of them when I want one. In addition to the bagels, they have a full menu of other deli staples. Everything from knishes (heaven!) to a nova platter consisting of smoked salmon, cream cheese, a bagel of your choice, and capers. The Californian is my favorite sandwich on the menu. The cucumber gives it a nice crunch and I preferred mine on an onion bagel. Their deli meat is sliced paper thin, which I also love. Thick cut deli meat freaks me out, in all honesty. To top it off, the prices are incredibly reasonable. The most expensive item on the menu is under $7.50. They're only open until 2 or 3pm, so you do have to get there early, but it's worth the visit.

So I grant you that today's visit to Grouchy's was my first, but my immediate impression is that it's low average rating is undeserved. Service was polite and prompt, and while the menu is fairly basic sandwich-and-salad fare, my crispy chicken wrap was delicious: full of fresh vegetables and tasty white meat. As a side, I got matzo ball soup, which was a nice change and quite yummy. I do agree with other reviewers that the ordering setup really does not flow well. You end up looking away from the cashier to read the menu while ordering. I'm definitely hitting up Grouchy's again the next time I go to company HQ.

My dad had been dying to go to this deli since the first day we arrived in Atlanta so we went before the airport on Sunday. It had a very large menu for a deli, and we all got something different. I ordered my food, and went to grab a cup of coffee. As I went in to get my coffee, the remains of spilt coffee on the counter got all over my WHITE shirt! The worst part? There was no coffee in the machine. They didnt seem to care and probably spit in the new batch for all I know. I got a Bagel Sandwich with Egg, Bacon, and Cheese. Ehhh...it was ok. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food but they didnt get anything out of the ordinary. This is one place I wouldn't care to go back to when Im in GA again!

My first time here and I'll be back. I was very impressed with the portion size and the freshness of my Rueben sandwich. The food was HOT which on this cold day was much appreciated.

The sweet little girl behind the counter was anything but Grouchy! Patient, answered our bazillion questions, agreed that my cupcakes should be in their pastry case. Certainly not the service I expected when I walked in, as the last time I was at Grouchy's over 3 years ago the dude was grouchy as hell! "I'm from Georgia, not New York," she explained and honestly, folks, I didn't feel cheated. I like nice people. I got the bleu cheese streak wrap - rib-eye beef grilled with onions, mushrooms, lettuce and blue cheese crumbles - and since I'm white I had to add mayo. Sue me. I chose the lobster bisque as my side and I kinda wish I hadn't. The non-Grouchy had told us it was "really, really good" but I'm guessing she hasn't been out of Georgia much, as nothing about that was even mediocre. It had no flavor and I'm guessing it was probably made with lawbster instead of lobster. Just sayin. The wrap was pretty good, but nothing that made me stand up and break out into song or anything. Not that I have this habit, but some day I hope to eat something that makes me do just that. My friend had the Atlantic salmon sandwich and I'll say that looked mighty delicious. And - dare I say - she liked the bisque, so maybe I'm being too harsh. I dunno. Decent lunch spot, I'd say. I'll be back to try a few more things.

I keep coming back here because the atmosphere is so nice and it's so close to my house, but the food has been fantastic. I just had the burger and I would rate it up there close to Fuddruckers. The kids menu is great and my kids love coming here. I am going to try and come here often!

I came across the Grouchy's Deli in Alpharetta right after they opened. I went there to sample two things first. A bowl of matzoh ball soup and a hot pastrami sandwich. Both were excellent (I attempted to lick the interior of the soup bowl). So, when I saw that a Grouchy's was opening in Peachtree Corners, I was very happy for the opportunity to save 3 miles on a pastrami run. First thing I noticed was the counter help at this one wasn't up to par with the Alpharetta store. Now, I don't care WHO makes the sandwiches, and I don't care WHAT they choose to call them. If it's good, it's good, if it's not, it's not. I happen to be 50% Japanese, 38% Irish, and 12% Cherokee, but I cook a better pot of collards and make better stuffed cabbages than any MeeMaw or babushka in this town. But I digress. Don't try the turkey breast anything, and don't have a sandwich with the pumperknickel bread, unless you love to chew and chew and chew. The rye is fine, as are the Kaiser rolls. The roast beef is hit or miss- I like mine red in the middle with a subtle transition to roasted goodness at the edges. All of the meats come rolled deli style from suppliers, so you're not going to have any epiphanies from them. Chicken salad, the deli mainstay, is average and a little chewy. Stay away from the coleslaw. I like the braunschweiger. My complaint with the salami is it's not a big enough portion- give me a MOUND like Wolfie's in Lauderdale! Desserts are mostly made offsite and are generic. Drinks are a paper cup and a selfserve dispenser. The saving grace, at least for me, is the matzoh ball soup. How soothing and satisfying it is to warm the soul with this divine potage on a cold January day! The bagels are nice early in the day, but Goldberg's they're not. Oy, it's a long way to Roswell-Wieuca!
