I found this place on a Sunday morning thanks to Yelp. I now can't get enough of it. Their breakfast is absolutely delicious. They have the best pancakes I've ever had. The slogan on the window is 100% correct "Best pancakes in town". One other thing I love is the freshly squeezed OJ. The staff is extremely friendly and very quick to tend to the customers. Thankfully it is also very close to work and I now make it a regular lunch place as well. They also serve breakfast all day on those days you want to have breakfast for lunch or dinner.

First time here, staff and food was excellent. Couldn't make up my mind between two specials and it was suggested I get just one of the Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes. I'm so glad I did, it was awesome. I also ordered the goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and spinach omelet, what a great combination! But no matter how good your food is is can be ruined by a bad staff. NOT the case here, very warm and friendly. They make you feel like you've been coming in for years, and treat you special.

I just want to say that this cafe is so amazing! Food and service was phenomenal! As soon as you walk in, you'll see the daily specials written on the white board. The hostess will offer you a booth or table, then guide you through their open dining area. The menu had some different dishes, like Ally's Benedict, so I definitely had to find out what that was about. Our server was new so she couldn't answer my question, BUT she did grab somebody else to fully answer any menu questions that we had. Turns out the person she grabbed was actually the owner's(Ally) mom, haha! Ally's benedict consists of 2 potato pancakes, tomatoes, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. Totally vegetarian and totally delicious! We also ordered the weekend special of pineapple upside down pancakes, super tasty! The pancakes were fluffy and sweetened lightly. While we were eating, both our server and Ally's mom came back to check in on us. She found out it was our first time and encouragingly offered us a taste of their grits. I'm indifferent towards grits, but my bf is a HUGE fan. He loved the grits and even insisted I tried them. The grits tasted like creamy liquid corn bread, yum! The dining room was packed, so for her to take her time and get to know us showed the restaurant's customer service level. I'm so glad we found this place because breakfast was definitely an enjoyed experience here.

I'm from a land of copy cat Greek diners, and for the most part, they suck. This place is amazing, food was amazing, vibe was amazing, staff was amazing. I could only hope that I come across a major lamp and use one of my wishes to move this place to New York.

Visited this place on the last week of my engagement to my beautiful bride. The staff was very kind and welcoming and we love that it's family owned and run. The food...let me tell you...was delicious!! I have never had corned beef hash like they make there, not salty or heavy. Their breakfast is perfect, their sandwiches are incredible, and their pancakes literally to die for! I can't wait to come back with more hungry mouths!

First time visit with my boyfriend today and we have DEFINITELY found our new breakfast/brunch spot! This place is amazing...I love the service and the hostess was incredibly kind and cheerful. It's nice to go somewhere and just have a conversation with someone new and have it be genuine. South Florida is often filled with rude people, so it's just refreshing to be at a restaurant with people who really care about what they do and about their customers. We were sat right away at a booth...it was a Sunday at about 1:15 so not very crowded (they closed at 2pm) I can imagine they are packed at some point! Anyway, on to the food! They have a pretty extensive menu and an additional list of specials. Their pancakes are freakin delicious! My boyfriend ordered a banana one, and it was huge. He also had the bacon omelette, home fries, and toast, which he ate all of and loved! I had the veggie omelette and added spinach and cheddar. It was great! I also had grits, which were phenomenal and creamy, along with an everything bagel that came out toasted and warm to the table. Great, great stuff. Only thing that wasn't too good was the coffee...a bit burnt but I'll chalk that up to it being close to closing and and an old pot. It's really just incredible food and service at good prices... The hostess struck up a conversation as we paid our check and asked what we had, and said they have a special pancake each week! I joined the mailing list to know about the changing specials! Love love LOVE THIS PLACE!

Unfortunately we have been very disappointed at our last three visits here. Mistakes on orders, poorly prepared dishes and abrupt service. Going at the weekend when they are very busy was the straw that broke the camels back (we usually go during the week). So chaotic and the opposite of a relaxing weekend brunch. When you take away the friendliness and the care and attention to food, it's only slightly better than Denny's. I can't imagine we'll be returning. Three strikes and you're out.

Let me just preface this review with the fact that my family and I have been loyal Ally's customers for years. My parents go to both locations more often than I do as I live in Orlando now. But this morning I had a very unpleasant/uncomfortable experience. We walk in and we are immediately seated in a booth. Having frequented this place many times, I am familiar with the routine. I'm a little put off when the server (whose zone we are in) quickly asks us what we want to drink, without making any type of introduction, and then leaves hurriedly. "Weird," I thought. I assume she will come back and make her spiel. She does come back but only to put down our cups of coffee and then leaves again. WTF I think to myself. It is then that I see her talking to the owner and I assume the conversation goes something like "I don't want to serve these people" because we get another server to take our order instead. Maybe I'm just really good at reading people and am very in tune with my environment but that was it for me. I wouldn't be so pissed off if it wasn't for the fact that we were CLEARLY in her zone and had to listen to her greet every single table around us. I don't even really write yelp reviews but I was compelled to write this one because I am that angry. SIDE NOTE: we were the only ethnic (Asian) people in the restaurant at the time and I don't want to assume our "supposed-to-be" server was some sort of bigot but I'm gonna throw that out there for y'all. Why else not serve three normal looking adults? Sorry Ally's, but I'm cutting relations with you and making sure my family does, too.

After five days of cruise food, which had its ups and downs, LEEB & I were looking for some comfort food. Luckily, we found Ally's through Yelp reviews. The restaurant (diner?) sits in a strip mall. That is about the last average thing I can say about it. The menu and daily specials are full of home style food. I had the open faced turkey sandwich with brown gravy. The turkey is roasted in-house and cooked perfectly. LEEB tried the Philly Cheesesteak. He said he was looking for more of a thinly sliced, traditional steak sandwich. Ally's makes their sandwich with chunky roast beef (cooked in-house) and he said it was really good roast, so there was nothing he could complain about. Both of us had French fries which were cooked to a golden, crispy brown. Would definitely recommend this little gem!

Comfort food at its finest!! Great service to go along with their great food!! If you want big portions at reasonable prices, then this is the place for you! Their pancakes are huge and delicious...I'm a big boy and I couldn't finish my plate!! One meal is enough for two!!

  • Doc V.

Here it is the Breakfast Monte Christo! Served with strawberry compote and very filling! Homemade corned beef hash yum yum! The salsa here is VERY hot but has a lot of flavor! Get it on the side and kick it up a notch! Lunch today great Reuben prefer onion rings over fries Menu du jour The pancake du jour is pineapple upside down! Must try the Ally's Benedict! An egg on a tomato on a potato pancake swimming in hollandaise sauce and so delightful! You really need to try this place if you are west of University. Gourmet pancakes and Ally's own eggs Benedict with tomatoes and latkes instead of English muffin and Canadian bacon? OY VEY! A vegetarian delight.

Shrimp and grits were amazing!! Just spicy enough and delicious flavor! My daughter had the yogurt parfait with homemade granola which was equally as delicious!!

Awesome, good food and good service. The corned beef hash was delicious. The eggs were good and the coffee was fresh. Server was very attendant. Will return and I recommend this place for a good breakfast or brunch.

  • Jessica B.

I think I'm in love! The cream cheese frosting on the mammoth sized pancakes is simply heavenly. The farmers omlet was equally delectable. My stomach is smiling. Ally's mom is sweet and passionate about food and I can see why. You NEED to do yourself a favor and come over here and eat.

The water is by far the best but the basket of grits takes the cake. It's better than porridge...

It's a very sad day for Ally's. I'm a regular at their other location with over 27 check ins on Yelp. They used to have the best grits I've ever tasted and the best pancakes. The original Ally's had a homey feel to it, very cozy. When a business loses its focus on quality and focus on quantity you'll lose valuable customers. Our food this morning was warm borderline cold. And the waitstaff is very new shouting out to the guest if they need anything from a seated position. I think this was our last time at Ally's it was good while it lasted. On to Brooklyn Water Bagels in Hollywood.

  • Emma D.

Very, VERY! Good . Just delicious ! This place truly serves it's purpose for breakfast and brunch not everyone has to do everything. I think that's sometimes a problem especially in business. Sometimes it great to pick one thing and EXCEL at that one thing. And ally excels at comfort food!

    (4)
  • Tina C.

French toast was absolutely amazing! This family owned business goes above and beyond to make their guests feel comfortable. Initially went to the original location off of 84. Saw a sign that there was a new location off of Oakland. Called ahead and reserved our table. Walked in and got seated right away. This place gets busy during brunch but is totally worth the wait!

  • Rudy G.

Great service, great food, love it! The staff is very friendly. I love the fact that my neighbors all come here for breakfast. I had the "Carnitas Burrito" and it was awesome. Everything here is pretty much good.

Excellent food always good service and fast the turkey croquettes are to die for when they have them

  • John Q.

Food was not as I ordered and the coffee was not only not hot but had a bitter taste Ally's needs to step it up if they want to stay in business

  • Ogre ..

Perhaps a busy day to judge but for our first experience it wasn't a very great one. Super slow service, told us 15-20 min wait and it ended up being 45 mins. Once seated we waited another 15 mins before our waitress came to us. The food was very mediocre. Sausage biscuits and gravy was bland, thin white gravy with chunks of link sausage that was mushy and the biscuits were dry and semi-hard. Also I tried the pancakes and they were gross, mushy with a weird texture. Felt like I was eating a sponge cake. Save your money and time and go to firstwatch cafe about 3 miles away from here.

  • Pus S.

My 53 year old wife said that while here she ate the best pancake (they are large) of her life. Service is great too. Nuff said.

  • Effie L.

I am a big breakfast person and I love this place! The first time I went, the owner sat and talked to me l. Welcomed me and offered free grits. (Not a big grit fan but mmmmm). My favorite thing is their regularly changing specials! I Have Tried Smores pancakes, Cranberry and white Chocolate pancakes, Strawberry Stuffed French Toast and So Much more! They are very friendly and I have turned many friends to them.

Decent, little diner. Basically what to expect in a mom&pop diner.

We frequent almost once every weekend since they opened. Went there twice this weekend. The chocolate swiss roll pancakes were the best pancakes I have ever had! We also had the Steak Rancheros. This was the first dish I ever had there. I was hooked at the start. Filet million tips with a fresh avocado jalapeño salsa. OUTRAGIOUS! I am NEVER unhappy there. I cant reccomend this place without speaking about the service. Tara has been our waitress since day one and greets us with a smile always. She knows what we want and is another reason we frequent the restaurant. I eat all over the tri county area. I consider myself a foodie. Allys is at the top of my list for quality freshness service and value. (The prices are ridiculously inexpensive for the portions and quaility)

Amazing food, great waiter....be weary of the grumpy ol' lady at the front...request a booth, and her wrath reigns down!!!

  • Tom C.

Just looking at the 49 reviews prior to mine, I figure that they don't need another one re-hashing how great they are. Speaking of re-hashing, if you want to have the best corned beef hash EVER, I had it here at this place. I went for the first time with my family because it is in walking distance and I felt like going for an old fashioned walk. The food, the service, the atmosphere, etc. is all great. I am glad that I did not experience what some of the naysayers did but maybe some of them were just picky, I don't know. If anything, go there and eat that dang delicious corned beef hash!!!

    (5)
  • Rick R.

Excellent food and service! Large portions, almost too much to finish! Homemade corned beef hash was awesome, pancakes were huge and delicious. Extremely clean and has the little ones in mind with a selection of toys and activities to keep them occupied.

Good stuff! Everything I have tried hits the spot. A great place for breakfast. Sometimes it can get a little crowded but I'd rather see that instead of an empty place!!

Went to Ally's with my three friends for brunch one Sunday. The food was amazing! Super unique brunch options, each one sounding better than the next (apparently they offer a special brunch menu on Sundays). Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and answered all our questions about the different options. We tried the potato pancakes, which were delicious and each had a different kind of omelette - it was hard to pick the best one. Only reason for four stars instead of five is that they wouldn't seat us with an incomplete party (3 of the 4 of us were there when our name was called). Normally I wouldn't take issue with this except that they didn't tell us our party needed to be complete when we put our name down. Ultimately, though, we called our friend who advised she was 5 minutes away and they seated us. Definitely check out this place for a great brunch!

I saw the good reviews and decided to try with hubby. The atmosphere was very homey and ally's mom made us feel really welcome. The pancakes were huge and I couldn't finish. They were good. This maybe our new breakfast spot.

I tried this place out for brunch, decor wise it was a little abstract but I was there to eat :) After waiting 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order 2 coffees, we put our food order in. Chicken and biscuits and peaches and cream french toast both were weekend brunch specials. When the order arrived, I noticed The chicken smelled like fish (Ew!) and the biscuits were dry. I also split an order of the stuffed peaches and cream French toast with my partner. The French toast was ok, but they obviously used canned peaches and waaaay to much sugar. Upon drinking their coffee, my partner spat something out - a piece of garbage, left over sugar wrapper floating in it. We both took our coffee black, it was disgusting! We stopped eating and got ready to leave. We told the management, we got a quick sorry. We told our waitress, another quick sorry. Did they offer to give us a break on our check? Nope. Did they comp at least the coffee? Nope. Did they lose a potential great customer? You bet. We WON'T be back.

I liked the earnest NYC-like greeting I received as soon as I sat down. The server presented the options and Ally's mom came by to reinforce them. Wanting a light breakfast I ordered a bowl of oatmeal. The server looked at me as if to dissuade me and said "You know, it's instant. Maybe a cup would be enough." Undaunted, I asked for a bowl. After all, I have instant oatmeal every weekday and it's fine. The server left to tell Ally's mom who came to give me the second warning about the oatmeal. I persisted but added an order of matzo brei, mainly because I can't get that on the west coast of Florida. If I asked for it there, I would probably hear Erin Go Bragh in return as if matzo brei was a foreign salutation. Ally's mom asked if she could bring me a sample of their grits, which weren't instant. That was a nice gesture and the grits were the best I ever had. The oatmeal, on the other hand, was the worst I ever had. I should have heeded the warnings. The matzo brei was a generous portion, cooked nicely but with no discernible seasoning so I had to season to taste. All in all, I liked the establishment although my food choices weren't standouts. I would return to try other menu items.

My wife and I were looking for a new spot for weekend breakfast/ brunch and took to Yelp to help! (Hey, that rhymed!!) The place was a little crowded when we got there but the wait was only about 5 minutes. We sat down and were greeted by a friendly waitress that went over the daily specials. My wife got the crab cakes benedict and I got the country fried steak. Both dishes were full of flavor and obviously home made to order. The portions could have been a little bigger but I did leave there full and it was probably better for my health that they were just the right size!! lol Oh, we also took some food to go for the kids, peanut butter cup pancakes and buffalo chicken tenders. Both of those items were awesome as well!! We loved coming here and will be back!!

  • Nelson A.

Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the Special corned beef hash, not the regular! Tastes delicious and comes I a generous portion. Pancakes are huge and supremely fluffy. Service is a work in progress, but most seem well intentioned. Still better than most other places in the area. For breakfast or brunch, this is a must visit in the area! Perfect that service, I'm dying to give that fifth star!!!

  • Michelle M.

Amazing amazing amazing good ole comfort food deli style. The service there is wonderful as well. Pancakes are ridiculously fantastic and every weekend a new style of pancake. I crave ally's cafe almost every day of my life which is quite dangerous but I make sure to limit myself to weekends. Make sure you go early in the morning on weekends to beat the rush or after 12 noon to skip the rush, otherwise you'll be waiting in a tiny front room for 20+ minutes because the food is just that good.

Fell in love on my first visit but will never go back after my second trip. They seated us at a four person table that already had two people on the other end. The other couple left and it was busy as usual. As soon as we got our food (approximately 30 minutes later) the same lady who seated us asked us to move to another table because they had 8 people waiting. I think I would have been open to the suggestion had it been in great taste but it wasn't. The hostess came over and said "I'm just gonna be rude. Can you guys move to a smaller table because we have 8 people waiting for a table?" I had to breathe because I thought I was in a dream. The hostess was taken back by my reaction which was a stone cold face. I have been in the customer service industry for 8 years and never would think to pull a stunt like that. And even if I did I think I could conjure up 100 different ways to go about it then the way she did. I truly hope this was a 1 of 1 situation but I have a feeling this is typical of this particular hostess. Food is great but the head of house needs a huge adjustment. My advice is go to the original in Davie especially on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Joseph A.

Very good first experience. Front staff and waitress very friendly and gave suggestions of what to try. I ordered the farmers omelette and my wife had ally's egg benedict. My wife stated the egg benedict was phenomenal, i did try a small section, but not a huge fan of egg yolk. The omelette was good, had a side of grits with the omelette which were very creamy, some of the best ive ever had. In reading reviews had my mind made up for the shrimp and grits, but this is a special item, not prepared on a daily basis. No biggie, was satisfied with my meal. The food was on the table in 10 minutes and the restaurant was moderately filled. The menu selection presented with huge variety. Will go again!!

  • Catherine M.

Great service, awesome breakfast menu. The weekend special menu is the best, I had the home made corned beef hash and it was out of this world. My friend had the biscuits and gravy, so delicious. Their lunch menu looked good, will have to try that next time.

  • AJ S.

Delicious food. Came in for breakfast and ordered Ally's Benedict which is a specially made Eggs Benedict their way. So delicious. Ally's mom let me try some of their grits for free and they were just delicious. I'll definitely be coming back a lot.

The worse service I have ever had. Thanks Nicole. Pancakes are great tho, If they dont forgot to bring them.

  • Daphne J.

Good relaxed ambience; it's like having breakfast in your aunt's kitchen. Excellent breakfast fare. The carrot cake pancakes are to die for. When Judy (Ally's mother) heard that we turned down the grits, she insisted that we try her daughter's recipe and gave us a sample. It was deliciously creamy! We are visiting from Orlando but this is going to be our favorite spot in the Ft Laud/Sunrise area.

    (5)
  • Michele M.

What a little diamond in the rough!! I've been to both locations, but prefer the sunrise one-it's larger. All of the food has been delicious!! The Hawaiian pancakes-yum!! Two pancakes, as big as the large plate, loaded with bananas, macadamia nuts, and coconut sauce. The spinach and feta omelette was delicious. The grits are creamy and perfect. The sausage are fantastic-large and perfectly spiced. Chocolate chip pancakes were packed with chops and the kids loved them. Service was fantastic! This is definitely my new favorite breakfast place!

  • Christi D.

Love, love, loved the shrimp and grits! We were at a baseball game around the corner, tried Yelp for close restaurants and hit the jackpot with this find!! My 13 year old ate and ate!! He lived the mashed potatoes and gravy! Ally's eggs Benedict and homemade corned beef hash were a real treat!

Quality food served reasonably quick with fair prices. What more could you ask for? Yes the place is clean too. I enjoy the mixup of pancakes every weekend.

I've eaten at the original Ally's Café and it's always a treat. They have unique things like cinnamon bun French toast and shrimp and grits that are Amazing! This Alleys Comfort Café Too was no disappointment. The staff is extremely friendly, the hostess is super sweet and the food is consistently great. I don't know what they do to their grits but they are super creamy and delicious I always have to stop myself from licking the bowl. The all in one pancake really has all the ingredients in one pancake you can't even see it till you cut it open, wow that's different. The macadamia nut chocolate pancakes were great the only complaint I have was that I did not know that they were white chocolate not regular chocolate. Because as we all know white chocolate really isn't chocolate. I would highly recommend Ally's comfort Café it's great comfort food and you will not be disappointed enjoy!

Absolutely wonderful! Huge portions, great prices, and good old fashioned home cooking! Met Alli's mom- they are a sweet family!

Oh wow! I had their goat cheese spinach sun dried tomato omelette. It was the best of my life! My wife and I usually eat at the other Ally's but this one is just as great and we were able to be seated right away on a Sunday morning.

This breakfast and lunch place is much needed in this area. Very good food! You can tell everything is home made. I had the special omelette with grits. Get the grits!

My boyfriend and I were in the area after attending a concert and looking for a good local place. After reading the reviews we decided on this place and were not disappointed. The food was tasty and the service was welcoming. I ordered the special, homemade corned beef hash with eggs and home fries. My boyfriend had a huge plate of sausage gravy and biscuits. Both were very good and definitely filling. As I checked out what others were eating I noted the fresh blueberry pancakes are bigger then a dinner plate and three are served as a full stack. If we lived in the area this would be a staple breakfast place and would like to try the other offerings for breakfast and lunch.

  • Michelle C.

Great service and food. Pancakes s'mores didn't last long and the regular pancakes were just as good.

  • Pat C.

It is with heartfelt dedication that we seek out new an unique independently- owned restaurants and avoid the chains with predictable menus. Ally's was not only a pleasant surprise in posting the day's special as a crab meat and brie omelet or blackberry pancakes, but the service was also as superior as the handcrafted entrees! The hostess and the server were very friendly and refilled beverages and checked upon our needs without becoming annoying. I will also concur with the other reviewers in their assessment of the grits as the best ever. Yelp also added a deal and there was no hassle at the cash register. We will definitely become regulars!

We've been to the original Ally's but decided to try this one today. Just as great as the original...except more room. Come check out this new location before everyone finds out it's here.

Literally around the corner from my house, within 5 min walking distance! Yummy breakfast. I've only gone on weekends in which they have specials that change every weekend. I usually go in a small group so we have tried quite a few of the dishes. My boyfriend's favorite is the Ally's Benedict and my favorite so far has been the Oreo pancake! The staff is really nice and you definitely feel the family vibe. The menu has enough to please everyone. The one thing that I would say is weird is when you get a bagel, they only bring you one tiny cream cheese container. And when you ask for more, they still only bring it one at a time. And you have to ask for it if you want some for toast. Really odd to me, but it must be a policy of theirs because every waitress I've ever had does this. I think it would just save both the customer and waitress's time to bring a bunch and not have to keep going back and forth. Other than that, it's a good local spot for some breakfast :)

  • Kris H.

Decided to stop in for some lunch as I was in the mood for some "diner" style food. Ended up ordering the open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. This is as good as it gets...Period. And the portion was enough for lunch and then some. The place is very clean, especially the bathrooms(which are always messy in restaurants) Service was friendly and the owner even stopped by to make sure everything was ok. Will definitely be heading back again.

We wanted to find somewhere new in the neighborhood to have breakfast as so few places really get it right for us. Ally's Comfort Cafe did get it right, and we will be back. We started with the grits. They were a bit watery, but the flavor, that we enhanced with a bit of their warm maple syrup was just right. We had the egg white Greek omelette, which proved to be surprisingly fresh ... perfect for us. And the bacon had just he right bit of crispness without being overdone.

Food is great! The breakfast staples are there, but there are exquisite novelty items as well. Specialty French toast with mascarpone and strawberries is great and so is the Portabello and Gouda omelette. Service is good. Try this place!

Food is very good. My favorites are their grits and corned beef hash. Nobody makes it better. Their specials are creative and I have tried many. They are delicious and thoughtful. Portions are very generous.Tops on my dining list!

Excellent food & service. My new favorite place to eat. All food is homemade nothing frozen all food made from scratch. Pancakes are as large as a dinner plate and so light and fluffy. Creamiest grits I ever had.

Wow. I've lived in broward county for 18 years and I wish I would have found this place earlier. The service: GREAT. The owner of the restaurant is very friendly and the servers are so kind. You really feel like you're at home eating with family. The food: GREAT. Everything on the menu is homemade and that makes it so much better. The price: amazing. For everything you get, service and food included, it's still a better price than any other breakfast place I've been to. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer and will definitely become a regular. I found this place from yelp reviews and I'm so happy I did.

Only had a sausage/egg biscuit on the run but loved it. Very good - not the standard, at all. High quality sausage, very good (chedder) cheese, perfectly cooked egg. A job that well done on a simple biscuit is darn good indication of the quality the rest of the menu. We are going back - my kind of place. They evn serve Yoo-Hoo! How much better can that get?! The place was spotless, the staff that I chatted with seemed energetic, happy and very competent.

I love Breakfast! I love a breakfast so fantastic that it's all I can think about for days & days and makes me anticipate enjoying it again immediately. And Ally's sure did deliver! The sign of a great breakfast spot is when you arrive and see people lined up out the door waiting to be seated - I'm only going to wait if it is well worth it. This was worth it! On a Sunday morning around 11 we were told that is was going to be about a 20 minute wait and no more than 10 minutes later we were brought to our table. The decor is super cute and a little old school.. it reminded me of my fave little breakfast spot we went to growing up. Our waiter, Mario was spot on! Knowing that it was our first time in, he took his time describing the weekend specials they offered. I also loved that you could see Ally's mom walking around checking in with everyone and introducing herself - She didn't make it our way, but I look forward to meeting her next time and giving her my rave reviews! Now.. the most important part.. FOOD!! Before we even sat down, my fiancé already knew he had to have the corned beef hash and eggs (it's usually his go-to if he's not craving something sweet). At first bite, he just had this look of pure bliss on his face.. best he's ever had. I opted for the Ally's Benedict - Wowza! Picture absolutely amazing potato pancakes topped with a slice of tomato and perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise.. it was heavenly! It was a huge portion so I "made" my fiancé share some of mine.. and he gladly did. Not that I needed it, but I also got a side of grits.. Fantastic addition to my already perfect breakfast. I can't wait to eat this exact same thing again.. soon, very soon! From the minute we walked out the door, we couldn't stop talking about just how delicious our meal was..each bite was better than the last. It was the perfect start to the day.. and we will for sure be back! If you are looking for a great quality, homemade breakfast with a super down to earth feel - You must go to Ally's! You'll thank me later!

Their weekend specials can be pretty amazing - and they draw a crowd - so come early and be patient. You can also come later in the morning (missing some of the crowd), but you risk them running out, especially on Sunday. This past weekend I had a great omelette; sun-dried tomatoes, thick slices of mozzarella, and delicious chicken Italian sausage... My son had the "all-in-one" pancake -- a big pancake stuffed with an egg & bacon, ham or sausage -- he said it was "amazing" (and that's a regular menu item). The "Ally's Benedict" is a neat take on a traditional Eggs Benedict (which they have as well and is also very good) and the corned beef hash is one of my favorite "savory" specials. They really shine in the pancake and waffle department -- specials like; red velvet pancakes, cinnamon bun pancakes, Krispy Kreme waffles (wow!) have been some of the standouts... On the regular menu - the Belgian waffle is very good. Be warned - the portions are very generous - we ordered a couple of specials and everyone shared and we still took some home. This has become our "go to" place for a great breakfast and, while I'm kinda partial to the breakfasts, they do have a really great lunch selection and a great (better than great) matzo ball soup. While they don't run the same kind of amazing specials during the week - they still have a solid menu and some specials - a great choice for a quick lunch or breakfast during the week. Like the other reviews have said - lots of "house made" stuff, very much a family vibe, and friendly service; things you just don't get much (at all) in South Florida any more...

A foodie gem hidden in a run down Plaza! I never knew this place existed and I drove by it so many times. Everything I had was orgasmic! Their specials menu changes every weekend. Their regular menu has many options as well. I got the homemade corned beef hash with two over easy eggs and home fries. The corned beef is so flavorful and seasoned wonderfully. It had fatty parts and lean parts which complimented each other perfectly. The home fries were good as well. My eggs were done exactly how I like it the server was a bit rushed and made us feel like she was in a hurry to turn over the table... But she did butter our wheat toast nicely. My friend had the country fried steak and eggs. The steak was fried crispy but the center was still tender and juicy. Amazing! We shared a Buttermilk Pancake and it was huge!! Fluffy and delicious!!

Wow. I'm impressed. Worth my drive from Miami. German chocolate pancakes were super special. Huevos Rancheros had just the right balance of flavors.

Excellent restaurant that is equally as good as the first one. The main difference between the two is that this location is larger, thus there is rarely a wait. I usually end up going to this one when I am visiting that side of the Sawgrass area. The menus are the same, the excellent and friendly staff may not be the exact same people, but the perfect service is. What is most amazing about both of these restaurants is the consistency. On point, 99.9% of the time.

A VERY very quaint place. Heads up, we came here on the weekend for breakfast and it was rather busy but the wait wasn't terrible. One of those, sit, eat, and go type of function. You can tell because they would leave your check on the table early and you get up-then-pay up. We weren't looking for a dense meal but it seems as though that's not a option here. Spoiler alert, I couldn't finish my meal. We ended up settling for our cravings with fresh orange juice for beginners. My honey had the sausage & biscuits and I had their original Ally's eggs Benedict. Let's start with the S&B, the gravy was quite endless. Yes, endless. If you wanted to personify biscuits drowning in gravy, this is just that. Though you probably wouldn't help resuscitate because you'll soon be devouring them. Tasty and filling. Their eggs ben, like stated in the name is definitely original. Your English muffin is now your potato pancake and your ham is your fleshy tomato. All topped with your poached egg and again, drowning in Hollandaise sauce. Very savory, but at my expense, the amount of sauce was quite overwhelming. Arguably this is my negative connotation because potato pancakes don't soak up liquids like biscuits do. However my honey enjoyed the excess sauce so it could be your hit or miss here. Our server was super sweet to us and it's a shame I didn't catch her name! Great place for a quick breakfast/brunch bite with a cozy diner feel.

Stopped in this morning with my mom for the first time , it's funny because I go to the nail salon on the other end of the plaza and never seen this place . Well we went and it was nothing less than awesome. The service was great they were genuinely nice . We order a half a stack of pancakes French toast A side order of grits A side order of bacon And a side order of homestyle fries. AMAAAAAAAAZIIIIING forget iHop I've found my new breakfast spot. Everything was seasoned to perfection . The pancakes OMG they melted in your mouth . And my French toast not to sweet with a drizzle of syrup AMAZZZZEBALLLLS definitely going back. You should too.

My wife and I ordered take out and it was ready no more than 10-12 minutes later! when I arrived the place was packed full with people waiting to be seated (always a good sign). The food was hot, fresh and all there with no problems. In my opinion the lobby/waiting area could use more improvements because you can't get to the display of baked goods (which is only about a 1/4 full) nor is there much seating available while you wait. Everything tasted delicious and fresh including the Greek omelette which included REAL spinach, ripe tomatoes and feta cheese. The bagels aren't the most delicious but the rest of the meal won me over to go back again. Try the homemade cornbeef hash; it is quite good and worth the extra charge instead of getting the canned "dog food" variety.

Have gone to Ally's multiple times in the last year, and they're splendid. Every weekend they have a specials menu with some kind of awesome pancakes and some kind of egg thing. The pancakes are always something interesting. Today she had Jelly Donut Pancakes. I seen them go by...and they looked amazing. I was told they tasted like a Krispy Kream Strawberry jelly Donut. The staff us always very nice and helpful. They're quick to get a drink order even if they're packed. Multiple people will help out with a single table. Not a long wait, even when they're busy. The atmosphere is cozy. Not too crowded. If you have small children they have toys for them to play with and coloring things to keep them happy and occupied.

After reading all the great reviews. we decided to give it a try. The only downer is that it took me 15 months in the area to find it, shame on me. Hands down, THE BEST, that's right, THE BEST in the area. The food is from scratch, and love, and tastes like it. Thumbs up to the Kitchen Staff. The service is from happy people that are warm, efficient, and yet professional. Debbie & Ma, you are awesome. Won't be long before you see us again. Why did it take me so long?????

A good diner that serves both traditional and unique (and good) dishes. The restaurant is clean, bright, open and well staffed. The service staff are friendly, knowledgable and attentive. Have eaten here three or four times and have been pleased each time with the various dishes tried. The servings are big (like most diners), so come very hungry, be prepared to share, or have the self discipline not to eat everything on your plate, contrary to what Mom told you to do as a child.

My reason for why I gave this place a 3 star wasn't for the food. Food was great. Had pancakes and they were delicious. My boys had the smores pancakes and they loved it. Grits were fantastic. Sausages are huge. eggs portion was small for 2 eggs looked like they scrambled 1 egg. This was my first time here, I went for Sunday brunch just me and 3 boys. The waitress was taking care of someone else I guess since I'm not a regular I don't get treated the same. I like my waitress friendly and helpful. Another lady I guess the owner was very nice but seemed like she was annoyed when my 2 year old was playing with the toy cars that was placed right next to him. I don't know what she would expect a 2 year old to do if he sees toys next to him. I understand there decorations but if kids are put there then they are going to play with them. I wasn't even offered a refill from my waitress, she didn't even come by to see if everything was ok. I received my check because she saw me getting up and ready to leave. A family owned or family atmosphere diner I would expect better customer service especially from my waitress. if I wanted BS customer service I would've took my family to IHop or Denny's or some other chain. If my waitress was great then I would've gave this place a 4 or 41/2 stars. I would probably go back because like I said the food was good and I usually give places 2nd chances. I just hope the next time I go I get better service.

Ally's Comfort Cafe is a small basic cafe located off of Oakland Park Blvd just East of the Sawgrass Expressway or the 869. Upon enterering there is a hostess stand where they greet you and will seat you or put you on the list. In the foyer, there are seats and a display with some fresh baked goods. After you leave the foyer, there are booths and tables where they will seat you. On both visits everyone was super friendly and Ally's Mom walks around and says hello and checks if everything is okay. They have a regular menu and then they have daily specials until they run out. On both visits I had a daily special of a feta omelet and home made corned beef hash. Both were yummy and piping hot!!! One visit I waited when I got there later on a Sunday around noon about 30 minutes. Everyone's tips to go earlier to avoid the wait sound wise. We had a child with us both visits and they were accomodating to bring the toast ahead of time for the child. So service is superb, food is amazing, daily specials provide different options, very clean place, restrooms are clean, you can't lose! I almost feel like I am home and I can see why it is called comfort cafe!

I really love Ally's...found it through Yelp and decided to give it a try! I love their service...the hostesses have always been incredibly kind and cheerful. I have to say, it's nice to go somewhere and just have a conversation with someone new and have it be genuine. South Florida is often filled with rude people, so it's just refreshing to be at a restaurant with people who really care about what they do and about their customers. I can imagine they are packed at some point depending on the time, however, I've always been greeted and seated right away every time I've been. I've only gone by myself or with another person though, so I can't say how a large group would fair in terms of waiting time. Anyway, on to the food! They have a pretty extensive menu and an additional list of specials. You can check their website for weekly and weekend specials so you can plan your deliciousness ahead of time. Their pancakes are freakin' delicious! They have all different kids, including some rotating ones on the specials list, but you really can't go wrong. I've seen german chocolate, oreo, cinnamon bun, and many others on top of classic choices. Just bring your A(ppetite) game because they're big! Their omelets are great, and their grits are creamy. Their bagels are pretty good, but nothing out of this world. The best thing i've had there so far is the guava and cream cheese stuffed french toast. Are you kidding me?! That first bite was just instant bliss...and all the bites following that one too. The "worst" thing I've had there was the bananas foster french toast. he bread was a little under done, it wasn't warm and didn't have much sauce on it. Maybe someone else was in the kitchen making it? Not sure, but after having the guava and cheese I was really hoping for something just as amazing. The food is usually always good, but that time it just wasn't for me. That same day my everything bagel was a little stale, so i'm not sure what was going on. I've seen a few reviews saying that the food is inconsistent, so perhaps it depends on who's in the kitchen, which is a bummer because it's like playing food roulette. Only thing that is consistently NOT good IMO, is the coffee. Just isn't too flavorful and often has that "i've been sitting in the pot too long" taste. The stock creamer in the little containers is a little bit of a bummer, but it gets the job done. If they could up the coffee quality, this place would get 5 stars from me! They have pretty great food, with a family vibe. You feel like you're eating in someones country kitchen. They also have great service and good prices. You go up front to pay your tab and the girls always ask how everything was and what I ate. Everyone really seems to care about their customers here...which is why I keep coming back. You're made to feel welcome and leave with a full belly. I even joined the mailing list to know about the changing menu specials! I Love Ally's!

I came here late in the morning on a weekend recently and found out it's in a shopping center that I used to work in. I never got a chance to try out Ally's but I'm glad I dropped in. There was about a 5 minutes wait and we sat in the little entrance to the dining area and read the menu. They have a lot of decadent items but I was feeling more on the healthy side so I just ordered egg whites, toast and home fries. These home fries were amazing, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The eggs and toast weren't really anything spectacular but what do you expect when you're being healthy. When I'm feeling more indulgent, I'd love to come and try their sweeter and more carb filled menu items.

The staff, from the front of the house to the back, were all very kind, helpful, & personable. I ordered the potato pancakes per recommendation and the chicken biscuits. Delicious. Judy, who happens to be Ally's mother, offered us a side portion of what had to have been the most delicious bowl of grits that I ever had. Very creamy. Texture was smooth. Tasted like viscous corn bread, in the most positive of ways. I love places like these when there is a beautiful balance between good food and even better customer service.

Great little breakfast spot! Though I say breakfast, they do serve lunch (and I believe dinner), as well. On our last vacay our family went here two mornings in a row. Coming from a person who likes to explore restaurants.. this says a lot. Day one I ordered the Mexican omelette. Fluffy eggs with queso blanco inside, topped with a spicy salsa. The spice didn't bother me, however the peppers left a bitter flavor to the salsa so I only ended up spreading a thin layer on top of the eggs. Day two I ordered Syd's favorite. I was going to order this concoction of scrambled eggs, cheese and grilled onions the day prior - but my stepdaughter did instead. After taking a bite of hers, I knew the next day that dish was mine. I adore the potatoes here, they're crispy and creamy and well seasoned little chunks of joy. I know a "chunk of joy" may not sound appetizing, but trust me -they are. Also, major props to Alex (Alejandra). She has to be one of the best waitresses I've encountered in a very long time. Funny, sweet, helpful and prompt; Alex is the bomb. Also - this little restaurant served me the first order of grits I have ever enjoyed. I may now venture out into the world of grits more often.. but nothing will probably compare to these. If you hadn't read so in the previous reviews; this little restaurant serves up some pretty special (and delicious) fare on their weekend special menu. Whether you come during the week or on the weekend, you will have a splendid meal no matter when.

Ally's is the best place for breakfast in the area! (My only woe: they don't have hash browns) What's good? Everything. If you like eggs Benedict, you should try Ally's Benedict. Potato pancakes, tomato slice, egg and hollandaise. Delicious! I can't say I've had potato pancakes elsewhere, but Ally's are delicious! Friendly staff, great service. You may have to wait on the weekends for a table, but not very long.

What a great experience this was! As soon as I mentioned to the waitress that we'd never been there before, Ally's mom came over to welcome us and stopped in to follow up frequently. This was Homemade comfort food that was great. Service was good. Place is very busy. They told us 15 minutes. Ended up being 25, but worth it. "Syd's Favorite" was delish! Will definitely be back soon.

Ally's can be a great place, but they struggle with consistency in service as well as food. You can end up being ignored, try a special and then regret you didn't order a classic and then bolt out the door, vowing to never come back. You can also go in, get a super attentive server (maybe even the one that ignored you last time) and get a delicious special (usually the dessert pancakes) that makes you want to move in. Ally's, you disappoint me because you obviously know how it *should* be done, but you don't always do it right and often make silly mistakes like underseasoning your food. This is just a guess, but I think your key people (i.e. person) are spread too thin. My disappointments are currently at about three for eight visits, so two stars it is.

Great place that's easy to find, and easy to park. Delicious food, served by really nice people! Our server named grumpy was anything but that. She was warm and friendly, and made excellent recommendations, and really made our meal memorable. Judy the boss stopped by our table and chatted for a while, and when we told her that this was our first visit to her place, she made sure that she dropped off a complementary taste of the house special grits that were creamy and delicious. The Ally's eggs benedict, was different than most, fried potatoe pancake topped with egg and hollandaise sauce was good, add some bacon and make it great. And stuffed blueberry french toast was amazing, really. Run, don't walk, this place was fantastic.

Wow, I regret not coming here sooner! This place is great. We loved everything we ordered. Hubby got the homemade corned beef hash. I got the eggs Benedict and we shared the weekly special pancake which was German chocolate. Oh my it was to die for!! It was so fluffy, decadent, and not overly sweetened!

Blown away !!!!!!!!!! honestly had been staying away,as previously this had been a jinxed parcel,....NOT ANY MORE !! as I told "Ally's(proud)Mom" we're wanna be foodies, our range WPB to Marathon, and all over the place price-wise. We've paid three times as much for meals we haven't enjoyed half as much as this lil' gem in our own backyard. from a price to flavor standpoint, this place is darn near impossible to beat. add to it genuinely engaging & attentive waite staff, and a homey vibe. I'm certain this'll be the first of oodles of visits ! BRAVO !!!!!!!!!

Ally's Comfort Cafe is definitely a place you should not sleep on. The minute you walk in you feel right at home. All the employees provide such great hospitality. Other than the vibe, the food is exactly what you expect, homestyle cooking. It's all homemade and fresh. I had a gyro sandwich with homemade tzatziki sauce which was super delish. I can't complain about this place. I wish I had more room at the time to try everything else.

So I must update. I've been back to this place four times since my first review. I should give it four stars because the weekends are the only times you can get Ally's breakfast specials. But I can't...the food and service are fantastic. So now I strictly go on the weekends. I keep getting the homemade corned beef hash every time I go. It's really the best I've ever had. It's a shame it's not available during the week. And let's talk about her pancake specials. Every weekend there's a different pancake. This past weekend it was a lemon blueberry ricotta pancake. By far the most amazing pancake I've ever put in my mouth. No syrup necessary. It's topped with a scoop of some type of lemon sweet deliciousness. Every time I go I will try the pancake. And I must talk about the grits again. You have to try it. Have to. I really want to go in the kitchen and see how this is made. If you like cheese in your grits it's really not even necessary. It's already decadent enough. Trust me. Definitely worth the drive. Good thing I live close. Or maybe that's a bad thing. And don't forget to get your hug on the way out.

Yummy cinnabun pancakes. Delicious and a must have. But I haven't been disappointed in any of her pancakes I think they have em down to a science. Glad Alley opened the 2nd location. More room, less craziness, same great food. As mentioned in my check in bring a jacked or get some hot coffee. It's freezing in there. Only real complaint is their running out of food sadly 3 of our choices weren't available as they had run out by 11:30 am. But that's the price you pay for home made food.

"Grumpy" was "Happy" and a wonderful waitress helping us select a delicious meal of coffee cake pancakes and corn beef hash and eggs...superb!!! Friendly atmosphere and great food and Judy even gave us a taste of the best grits we've ever had. Will always try to get back when we're in town.

I love this place. Only ate here once but we also picked up recently to go also. Food is good, service too. I highly recommend the Ruben sandwich they have its great. Very lean and juicy corned beef. Breakfast great here too. Feels like a comfortable little cafe like and older diner. Be back soon for sure.

This place has great breakfast potato pancake eggs benedict and home made corned beef hash only on the weekends tho because it takes them all week to prep it for the weekend. The service is good the place is small so theres always a wait on the weekend but well worth it so make sure your not starving when you get there because you will wait and the people always stay and wait that tells you alot right there.

Wonderful! The food was great! I had the special crab cake Benedict, my wife had the Mexican omelet - spicy! Everyone that we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back again!
