First to review, yes!!! Not a surprise.. Nobody knows about this gem! Anyone that knows me knows that I rave about it. One of the best burgers for the money I have ever had, to date. Check it out: Place is called 'Moon Subs', they don't sell subs! It is in a not-so-good part of town in Sanford (don't say I didn't warn you and don't go there after the sun sets, real talk), it's owned by an oriental couple, and it's $5.00 for a cheese burger with fresh veggies, fries, and can soda for the lunch take out special. That is the only thing I have ever got there, ever. You won't be able to finish the burger it's so big, if I'm lying I'm dying! Fries are good, soda washes it all down. It's an experience in itself and it's the best $5.00 I have ever spent on a lunch, ironic they are located down off 3rd street from Burger King. Try it out!!

Half convenience store (with beer and lottery tickets!) and half grill/deli, you won't find anything that's more 'hole-in-the-wall' than Moon's. Or at least, I sure hope not. I got a cheese steak and it was very tasty. Nice melty onions, nice semi-greasy meat, yummy cheese and a nice soft bun. It's not Philly, but it's quite good. One tip - check your cholesterol before eating it, not after. Because wow! Note that Moon's is takeout only. There are no tables here.

This place is the definition of a "Hole in the wall". I got a burger, fries and drink combo. Tasted almost identical to a whopper from Burger King. Tasty but it was fast food burger meat. Otherwise service was fast and food was decent.

Moon's is part of the Sanford experience. I've lived here for 10 plus years and it's a cool little town. You want a great cheeseburger? Go to Moon's. You want some really good fries w/that too? Order it up, you won't be disappointed. The neighborhood is fine, I think it's all a matter of perspective. If you're only interested in chains, and you don't want to drive off the beaten path or possibly see a local that maybe walked over to Moon's from their apartment yeah go somewhere else. But if you're interested in good food at a great price this is the place. Great couple. He's behind the counter and she's behind the grill. Every. Single. Day.

Moon Subs does sell subs as well as fried chicken, burgers and fish. It's a tiny little convenience store type place located next door to The West End. Most people don't realize how good their food is. It's owned by a really sweet Asian couple. We always call and order our food to go. By the time we get there its made fresh & hot & it's waiting for us. They honestly have some of the best burgers, fried chicken and onion rings around. I can't even finish one of their burgers on my own and a bag of fries will feed two people. Don't let the homeless people on the corner scare you. They are always hanging out and around there and they are mostly harmless. I've been going there for years and I've never had a problem or felt unsafe. I have lived in Sanford for several years so I know the area well. Sanford gets a bad rap sometimes by people who don't know it but it's really a cool place.

Best cheese steak I've had in a long time, super caramelized onions and green peppers, and it was oozing with cheese, plus the best onion ring!

Absolutely delicious food at an amazing price. A complete hole in the wall that is easily missed but worth a visit.
