Part of me thinks that it borders on blaspheming to name a pizza joint by ANY name sounding remotely close to the Mecca itself - that being Frank Pepe's Neapolitan Pizzeria - or "Pepe's" by those who know - and by extension - love Pep's. That said, this joint makes a tremendous pizza. We all know that the basic cheese is the best determinant of quality. Two nights ago (at 10 minutes prior to closing) I called in the order. No problem, she said. It would be ready once I arrived. (I confess that I strayed from the basic cheese and called in a Margherita) Sure enough - it was being sliced as I entered. Great crust. Just the right amount of crunch/inner moisture. Nothing soggy. Tomato slices were thin, basil was fresh. It IS not what I call "Pepe's" (New Haven, CT). It is, after all - "Peppi's". But I'll say this - it's definitely the best pizza I've had in Naples! So - I'll call it "The Pepe's of Naples" (or Peppi's for short!)

I don't understand the glowing reviews this restaurant received. I'm especially and extremely unimpressed. More annoyed than anything. I was displeased with almost everything this pizzeria had to offer. The only thing I was happy with was the service. It is small and, somehow (I don't understand why), crowed. There is absolutely no room to move at all. You take one step and you're on top of somebody. Also, the tables are so small that when move just an inch, your legs hit somebody else's. The food is nothing to write home about. The last time we came, the pizza was late, dry, overcooked, chewy (how?), and just plain terrible. I always try to be positive and give a place a second chance but, today, the food was late, again, dry, undercooked, and still chewy! I will not be coming here again and hope you don't either.

Love this pizza! We tried the perfect marriage pizza during our honeymoon. Each time we come to Naples we stop by! Great service and great pizza!

Real deal thin crust pizza with just the right amount of crispness and chew. Generous and tasty toppings, especially the rich and buttery cheese. The pies are light on sauce, which lets the flavor of the ingredients really shine. Some of the best pizza in Naples by far. Staff was very pleasant and helpfully accommodated a food sensitivity for our order. My new go to place for pizza. Oddly, Peppi's does not have a website so be sure to grab a menu on your way out so you can order take-out.

We were looking for pizza, but not the usual kind - we wanted something a little different. This pizza was really good! We ordered three pizzas: cheese, pepperoni and sausage and then an order of baked ziti. My kids liked the pizza, but they always like pizza My dad really liked it, and isn't normally a pizza eater. The crust is thin but not overly crispy, it really was perfect. The pasta was fantastic! It came with a salad and bread. The salad was basic but the dressing tasted homemade. The 4 star rating is only because it was pricey - the medium pizza with 1 topping was $12.95, the pasta was $15.95.

A decent place with good pizza and decent service. We had your basic thin-crust pepperoni pizza and there was nothing left to take home. A good crust and sauce. I'd definitely eat there again.

Last night I ordered a Margherita Pizza (with added ham) to go. It was like eating a round bread with tomato sauce, where was the cheese and seasonings? That's too bad because we live only one mile from Peppi's Pizzeria and try it every couple of years hoping it will improve and it only gets worse. We go out of our way to support locally owned businesses so it is difficult to write this (honest) review. We will not be going back to Peppi's. There are so many other really great pizzerias in Naples.

On vacation in Naples last week we picked up Peppi's for a quick dinner one night. Not impressed. We had pepperoni, green pepper and onion. Too many overcooked onions but the green pepper and pepperoni's were nice. The crust was strange, not too crispy but not soft or chewy it was just kind of dry. Found the cheese quite greasy too. I hear Cosmos is fantastic - go there instead.

Decent pizza that is reliable. I come to Naples every year to visit family and we always go to this place at least once. The pizza is flavorful and fresh, but really not that much better than your average Italian pizza place. It has been around for a while though and the service is usually great so I give it 4 stars.

I know it's a matter of debate, but Peppi's has my vote as the best pizzeria in Naples. PIzza's are thin, very crispy. Tomato sauce is fresh and acidic, pasta dishes are also well prepared and authentic. Great fresh baked garlic bread too.

If you're a self proclaimed "pizza connoisseur" you may think otherwise, but in terms of Naples pizza, Peppi's is definitely a serviceable option at a good price. The owners are Italian and you can tell they take pride in their clean, reasonably priced establishment. The pizza is thin and crispy, the beer is cold, and the service is good. Can't ask for much more honestly. We had the meatball and the white pizza which comes with spinach, ricotta and mushrooms. My only qualm is the use of canned shrooms over fresh. Other than that, everything was good. Not to mention my Italian grandmother loves it. I highly recommend getting a loaf of their freshly baked bread to go if you can appreciate incredible toast/bread and butter.

Hands down best pizza in Naples probably in the entire US if you like thin crust NY style pizza

If you're looking for an amazing slice of pizza, this is the place!! From the thin crispy crust to the savory sauce and gooey cheese, it's just plain delicious! We only had the pizza, but dish after dish that came out for other tables looked great!! Service was great and I enjoyed listening to all the conversations going on in Italian.

I'm no chef/food critic, but one thing I do know is good pizza. The pizza here is neither a bargain nor delicious. We found the portions to be meager for the price, and the quality lacking. Our pizza was scarce on cheese and slightly over cooked. The cheese bread tasted cheap and was more-than-slightly overcooked. There are many pizza options in the Naples area and I would highly recommend skipping this one.

Delicious pizza, closest I've found in Naples to New York Style. One rule though - eat in the restaurant. The pizza doesn't take as good when it has sat in your car on the commute home.

Great thin crust pizza - we all love it We are coming here for years

Great Pizza and Lasagna. Although Peppi, the master pizza maker, passed away last July, they continue to be the best in Naples. I love this place! In spite of the card tables, plastic chairs outside etc...the crowds keep coming because after all it's all about the food. The servers are nice, and Peppis wife and daughter ensure that it continues to be super good. It's not deep dish pizza, but rather thin, crispy, which I love. The Lasagna is wonderful also. Their side salads, although very simple, are scrumptious. It's always crowded during the season with lines and take out doing a very brisk business - especially during football season.

Hands down best thin crust pizza with benefits. Benefits being the extras that are offered... Mussels awesome...meatballs perfect. Loved it!!!!

Great old-school thin crust pizza, everything else on the menu blows! Pizza is in my top 3 here in Naples & won't gore your wallet for $35 a pie (helllllooooo, Aurellio's! I'm lookin at you!.....) local favorite & family operated, service great, yet understandably slow when it's a packed house, there's only 1 (holla, highlander!!) or 2 that wait tables for the many. Great Pizza!!

This is really good, new york style pizza. Great for a simple meal after a long day of sunning on the beach. I highly recommend it. Its also good to know that it is locally owned has been in business since I moved here fourteen years ago.

I tried the tomato pizza, the plain and the pepperoni pizza. All really good. Not a gourmet selection at lunch time but maybe four or five choices. Reasonably priced pizza by the slice at lunch time only. Now my husband got the chicken parm sub. It was really just a slab of grilled chicken on a roll with a little sauce and cheese on top. OK, I thought he was joking with me when he said he could bite into it. I tried it and it was as hard as a rock. That piece of chicken was either really old or just reheated so many times it had dried to a piece of leather. Bottom line, I'd go in for pizza again but never would I order anything from the menu after seeing what they are willing to sell.

I have finally found a good place to order pizza. We had a large pizza with ricotta, sausage, spinach and mushrooms. The crust was nice and crispy and there was a generous amount of ricotta, a bit skimpy on the spinach. I believe the mushrooms were canned, that's the only drawback to the pizza. Next time I will order a pizza with red sauce and inquire about those mushrooms!

  • Jack S.

Welp. They put canned spinach on our pizza. It's laudable that it is a family-run restaurant, but having children and fussy babies behind the counter and kitchen, with family members/ friends hanging around was a bit weird. Decor was hella old school. Set us back $22 for a large pizza with canned spinach and sausage.

Small space, slow, authentic staff and food but nothing special, especially for the price... too high. If you are allergic to wheat flour, stay away! I got an attack from only a few minutes sitting at the table. They make the pizza in the same small room and it was awful. Good thing was there is a Fresh Market almost next door so I bought food and sat there to eat while the gang finished off. However, even the gang would not return, bland noodles, not much taste of anything-accodring to them. They have a following, been there for years, but the following you can tell has lived for years, if you know what I mean. You can eat outside but it is facing the parking lot and the back of McDonalds. Not exactly a place to bring your date unless you are blind, old, and rich, or all of the above.

Great Pizza and really nice old school folks. During season expect a wait because the food is so good but it's worth the wait. Additional favorites: Meatball, chicken and sausage Parm and the Pepper salad is out of this world.

Much better than any chain pizza place. Had OK service on a busy night. It took 45 minutes to get our pizza. We had the white pizza which was a bit heavier than some of the other white pizza's that we have had at other restaurants. Their white included ricotta, mozzarella, garlic, frozen spinach, and canned mushrooms. We would have appreciated fresh ingredients.

We ordered take out and the person answering the phone had a difficult time understanding the order. When I arrived they wanted to give me two pizzas and I only ordered one. OK pizza for $20 for a large is too expensive for take out.
