Don't let the name fool you - Nino's Pizza offers sandwiches, wraps, and pasta dishes to satisfy any type of lunch craving you may have! But the pizza is where it's at, without a doubt. For $6 you can get 2 huge (i.e., NY-style fold-able) slices (cheese only, it's extra for toppings) and a soda for lunch. No where else in Downtown does such a deal exist! The place is small, so don't even think about coming with more than 1 or 2 other people. Grab a seat at the counter or at a table along the wall, and before you know it, the man himself will be taking your order. A few minutes longer, and your delicious lunch will be in front of you, ready to be devoured. Nino's Pizza caters to MDC students and Downtown worker-bees alike, cause let's face it - who doesn't enjoy a delicious and filling lunch that costs less than $10?!

"FLO - PICK UP!" That was Mel Sharples talking to ALICE the aspiring singer and waitress and TV title to this popular comedy series that earned eight Golden Globes in a nine year span. The character Mel was played by Vic Tayback. Nino in his usual white t-shirt reminds me so much of the character Mel. A white sailor cap and spatula would seal the deal. Nino's is essentially feeding an intriguing mix of half and half high school students and downtown cubicle occupants. So the food has to be first most affordable, great tasting and filling till you get home. With these parameters the ambiance takes a back seat in the pick up truck The student specials of two slices of cheese pizza and soda for $ 6.00 or the Cheeseburger with fries and soda for $5.00 is the real downtown top burger deal.

A hidden gem! Don't get me wrong, the place is a hole in the wall but the food is fresh and really good for the price. Has a Philly cheese steak with chips and a drink for $5.75 (including tax)!! My friend has a "Back door man" with the macaroni salad and a water, also for $5.75 (including tax). She said it was good and we will put it on the lunch rotation list. The pizza looks really good & they deliver. Will definitely be back!

Excellent or some may say the best spot in Downtown Miami for when you want some quick Pizza. Inside is tiny but cozy. It can get a bit packed during lunch hours but it's well worth the wait. They have specials which include 2 slices of huge NY style pizza with a drink for no more than $6.00. You can't beat that. What I love about this place is that it reminds me of pizza parlors in NYC. Nino the owner is present at times and you can enjoy his typical New Yorker trash talking rants while eating your huge NY style Pizza. I always come here when I'm in Downtown or when I come to jury duty. It's the best deal in DTMIA. It's cheap and it's super filling.

Nino is great, he helped us feed 25 people today and was a true gentleman to deal with. The price was very reasonable and this pizza is leagues better than any of the "chains". Everyone in the office commented that it was some of the better pizza they've had in the area, and Brickell/Downtown people aren't the easiest crowd to please. If I could ask for just one thing, it would be to start delivering to Brickell so we could order more often! :)

I love Nino's in downtown Miami! I will miss them when I move to Chicago next week. Food is always on time and fresh. The owner and staff are all friendly and helpful. The sandwiches and pizza are delicious - as are the smoothies. And everything has a catchy name. They have a great $6 lunch sandwich special that comes with a side and can soda, and a great 2 slice + soda for $5.50 deal. Both are plenty for lunch! Great little hidden gem for lunch M-F downtown. One of the only places that doesn't charge for delivery in the area. Thanks, Nino's! :-) I'll always remember you guys as one of my local faves.

Going through my notes (yes, I keep a log - with notes - of every place I review; it's a bit of a necessary evil of the gig), I'd forgotten that I'd been to Nino's Pizza. I fact, I'd forgotten Nino's Pizza... and that's my mistake. With all of the splash that surrounds so many other Miami businesses (for good but usually for bad; the glitz covers the rot), it's easy to overlook the working man appeal of Nino's. Again, that's a mistake. In a Downtown that has yet to fully realize the locals who live there and crave something to eat, Nino's serves up quality fare for fair prices and does so without flash, spectacle or fanfare. He does it the old school way -- and the old school way tastes fantastic. You're not going to run across Nino's walking down Biscayne. You have to know what you're looking for. I hope that this review and the others before it, help you discover something worth discovering... because it is. Once you've located the small shop, step in and get a quick lay of the land. It's not very big and if you're coming at lunch time, you're going to jam up the works. Most people opt for the pizza and Nino's got a great pizza meal deal, to be sure. But when I came to the restaurant, I was a bit pizza'd out. I wanted something else. Turns out, I wanted... Nino? Well, Nino's Sub, in any case. You'd want it, too: peppers, sausage, cheese, and onion doused in marinara sauce and served hot in an Italian roll. Simple. Delicious. Filling. Old school. This sandwich would acquit itself nicely during my Philly days. In fact, Nino's Pizza reminds me of something you would/could have found on or near South Street back in the '90s version of Philly. Nino's is a gem of Downtown Miami. Eat like a local and discover why it's essential to know that Miami is more than neon, booty shaking and foolishness. Nino's is part of the fabric of Miami that's worth experiencing. It deserves more shine. Be that light.

I love Nino's! Such a great place for lunch. It's a little hidden and a bit far from the busier downtown streets, so it's a bit of a hidden gem. I keep on trying new things every time I visit but everything's been rather delicious so far. It's also a great place for vegetarians! Great smoothies too!

Found this little gem by checking out Yelp for a quick place to eat while out at a training. I love trying out out of the way places. This was rated 4 stars but I give it 5. The seating was at counter or douces along the wall. I love the rustic, nostalgic decor and the friendly, outgoing service from the owner himself, Nino. I ordered the daily special of 2 slices of pie and a drink. Very inexpensive$7. Service was quick and the pie was fab! Not greasy, sauce very tangy. The portions was very generous. I couldn't finish both slices. Took second one home. I was sooo pleased with this place. So glad I ventured out instead if going to your typical sub shop!!!

Nino's seems to have grabbed the prize for the most pizza for the least money #DWNTWN in the Central Business District! $5.50 will get you two enormous, hot and fresh slices along with a can of soda. Hurray for competition! For free you'll get a cozy, dive of an old restaurant, with a character of an owner/operator, Nino himself, who is somehow on top of everything simultaneously while checking whether you're happy with your order. Putting on my pizza snob hat - this is typical, New York style "street" pizza, that in this price range has tomato sauce of no discernable flavor, and a cheese that mostly tastes salty. The crust is chewy, and folds without disintegrating. It's still a bargain, and you'd be hard-pressed to get anything much better for anywhere near the price. A-OK!

  • Marta V.

Amazing sandwiches and fantastic pizza at great prices. Love the fresh juices too. You wouldn't know how much variety they have by the small hole-in-the-wall appearance but their food is great and the staff is super nice.

Molto Bene! Life is beautiful! errr.... Nino's is beautiful! ...errr ... well.. Ok, so Nino's isn't quite the looker of places but it is a great experience. Sure, this isn't a five star black and white linen establishment. You don't want or need it to be. This is simple and genuinely homegrown Italian cuisine. First off, Nino's is a hole in the wall (just as Larry D mentioned). If you're walking fast, you will miss it. Just like many places in downtown, this is a tiny establishment that has rooted itself with a strong fanbase. Where else can you have a casual conversation with the owner as he's running about helping everyone at the same time. Nino has mastered the art of multitasking. I had the chicken parmesan sub. Only later did I find out you can order a half and next time I will. It's very big and very tasty. I was rather surprised at the large menu selection offered. There are probably over 30 items on the menu ranging from hot to cold subs, pizza with all sorts of toppings, and pasta dishes. Bottom Line: Casual and laid back lunches can't get much easier than this. I'll definately be back!

Are you in the mood for a quick slice of pizza and a garlic roll? This is the place to go! They do get extremely busy at times but it's cheap and very much worth it. Small spot so keep a look out for a place to sit they'll take care of you fairly quick. You won't be disappointed!

  • Stephanie C.

GO GO GO Nino is awesome. The food is great. And it's definitely a great place to stop by for lunch. I want the Philly cheese steak sandwich right now. with the peppers. and the mushrooms in that delicious toasty hoagie bread.... It's a small place, so be ready for it to be crowded around lunch time. Recommendation: make it a late lunch. And say Stephanie from Chicago (but I ended up in Indianapolis) says hello

  • Rolando R.

This place kinda scared me off at first because it looks a little dingy & dirty.... But as far as downtown goes...It's probably the best NYC style pizza in downtown. Mario The Baker is alright but Nino's is much better. They're both at about the same price for 2 slices & a drink for lunch ($5.50) Nino's tastes better. These guys used to run a really popular MDC lunch spot called Red House Cafe back in the day that had awesome, cheap, unique sandwiches.

I have absolutely no idea why this place has so many stars. I knew it was a hole-in-the-wall before I went (and in my experience, hole-in-the-walls tend to be amazing). Nino's is not. Nino's is dirty, the staff (particularly the owner) are rude and curse a lot, and the customers tend to be the type of crowd you expect to see moving around Government Center. I had one of the hot subs. It was terrible. The only time the owner was pleasant to me (on a day where I was one of only two people dining in the place) was when I paid the check.

Great place. I've only had the pizza and garlic rolls, but they're really good. The pizza can be ordered by the slice and is the traditional, New York style, too-big-for-the-paper-plate variety. They have a full menu of sandwiches, burgers, wraps and smoothies, but I can't attest to any of that stuff. The place is small and unpretentious (the opposite of using the word unpretentious in a pizza review). The service is very friendly and attentive. $5.75 for two slices, a garlic roll and a bottle of water. The owner knew the names of a number of his customers, so it seems like people make regular trips to Nino's.

Awesome Pizza, great menu, and the owner is very generous and fair. Treat him well and you'll be treated well. He's been in the business for many years now, and all the locals who love good pizza goes to him. Great Natural Jugo's, great coladas, and the spot to relax with good vibes, soups, and a counter-top that is fun to look at filled with pictures of Hollywood stars.

Nino, Nino, Nino... Ya did good! Stopped in while I was downtown yesterday. I know my reviews have been a little lengthy so I'll keep this one simple, just like Nino's. Nino, the owner, is down to earth and cool peeps. We chatted while I ate, but he also stayed on top of the other orders. He's from Boston, not New York, but I won't hold that against him. *wink wink* My nice big slice was great! The sauce & gooey cheese are perfectly harmonious. Crust is perfect. With a deal like 2 cheese slices and a drink for $5, this place can't be beat! This place is pretty small with only a few hightop tables and bar style seating. The guy next to me got such a delicious looking sandwich that I HAD to ask... It resembled some kind of cheesesteak. He tells me its the Cheeseburger on a hoagie roll. OMG. I'll be back, Nino. That's not a threat. It's a promise.

  • Rachel S.

If you are looking for CHEAP, edible pizza downtown, this is the place for you. The sauces taste garlic powder-y and I would bet money that the meatballs are of the frozen variety, so if you're not into that, don't come here. But $5 for a pretty damn decent-tasting and large calzone can't be overlooked. I'd recommend pepperoni for $1 extra. Nino, while normally a doll, can be a bit cantankerous at times during the lunch rush, but I find that to be part of the charm.

I tried I really did. I had so much hope...NY style pizza in Florida? I read the reviews and even drove down on a Sunday, but they were closed. Visually you could take Nino's and place it on any corner in NYC and it would fit right in. They looked authentic even down to the pizza maker's off white t-shirt and attitude. I'm not complaining about the attitude it's a necessary item in a good pizzeria. Unfortunately, for pizza at least, it can't hang. I guess for Florida pizza, its OK, but I am really disappointed. I guess it is the water. Sorry NIno, I took a pic of the place and I was all ready to brag about the pizza, but everything from the cheese, the sauce and the bread was lacking. the only thing is that the food is very affordable. You can get a whole 14" pie for the price of a calzone in NYC.

    (2)
  • David R.

Nino's rocks. When I worked in downtown I ate there several times a week. The Pizza is solid, the lasagna is excellent, the garlic rolls yum, and the prices can't be beat. Nino is a character and knows his customers by name

This gets 5 stars for ONE reason. Come here, order a slice of cheese, and have a chat with Nino. He's awesome. It's a hole in the wall, but it's straight out of NYC. There are plenty of other things on the menu, but they don't hold a candle to that hot, chewy, salty, cheesy, foldy overy slice of cheese pizza. Actually, the 5 stars is for Nino. He really is a great guy and needs the business especially in summer when school is out.

Nino's Pizza Pizza...Pizza... Their pizza alone is 5 star worthy, but that's about it. I have ordered subs from here a quite deal, and being a vegetarian they are not that good. I can eat them if I am hungry, but that's about the only time. The Subs are extremely dry and whenever I order them they are always missing an ingredient. I ordered a sub with sundried tomatoes, they were out but they never told me. I ordered another sub that was supposed to have cream cheese... SURPRISE!!! No Cream Cheese. If they are missing something they should tell me instead of replacing it with another item that I didn't ask for. So I just stopped ordering subs from here. The smoothies and milkshakes are good. Whenever you go to Ninos you end up smelling like your grandmothers kitchen, so make sure to have something to spritz yourself with when you walk out. With all that I would definitely return time and time again for their amazing pizza.

Very reasonably priced, great salads, good pizza, fresh food, funny people, quick service. The only downside is the place is small and gets waves of (some are annoying, others are are really nice) young college students who walk in with huge backpacks and you feel claustrophobic in the very narrow and small place.

There are plenty of other things on the menu, but they don't hold a candle to that hot, chewy, salty, cheesy, foldy overy slice of cheese pizza. Actually, the 5 stars is for Nino. He really is a great guy and needs the business especially in summer when school is out.
