I've eaten here a few times, always order the chicken wings which are good. Casual sports bar atmosphere, i'd go back for more if in the area.

this is a place to go from time to time. Looks a little old and tired but i hear they have been there for like 30 years. If you are into sports and you are in the area, this is the place to go to watch a game. Just a basic sports bar, cheap, service is ok. Don't expect anything fancy and you will be ok. The basic sports bar type of food. The wings are delicious!. Have come here a few times and always have the wings so i cannot really speak for anything else. Good spot to have a beer and some wings and watch a game.

Ricky's is our neighborhood bar/restaurant. Good food, reasonable prices and a family friendly bar. I have had an occasional not-so-great experience (only with the food), but for the most part food is consistently good. The staff is awesome. Always friendly and hustle to serve you well. There are lots of TVs and a juke box. Free popcorn and an arcade style game to keep the kids busy while you finish your drink. My husband, my kids and I have been going here for 14 years. We will continue to go there for a hardy meal and friendly service. They just gave the place a face lift so it doesn't look so divey anymore. You sort of expect the people at the bar to tell out "NORM!!!!!" when you walk in. It's the place where everybody knows your name.

Has steadily been in decline for some time. Will not be going back. Ribs: dry and chewey Open Turkey sandwich: cold cuts...really? Fish sandwich: pasty and terrible Drinks: terrible pours Waitress: I am sorry everything was bad... Felt like I was in Orlando-most restaurants there could care less if you come back

This was some of the worst food I've ever eaten. Everything was dry and bland. I had heard the chicken wings were a must try, but they were sub-par to say the least, I wouldn't serve anything with that sauce to my worst enemy. On another note Steve Wiebe rules!

  • Beau M.

Delicious, And you get to say you had the sauce from the movie "King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters."

great wings and fries! just service sucks, and food takes forever to come out

  • Marcia D.

You go to Rickey's for the wings. We never touch the rest of the menu, the other food options are decent generic bar food dishes. Anyway, get breaded wings with medium sauce, don't forget to ask for blue cheese and celery and you're all set. Best damn wings in Broward, without a doubt. The sauces are great and wings are always cooked to perfection.

My chicken wing destination for 20+ yrs. Every single time I drive to town, I drop my stuff, jump back in the car and go have my first meal in FL of wings and beer. Prices have gone up. less wings, more money. I guess change has to come now and then, eh? Decent variety of beer. No craft beers. No IPA beers. good bar food. Rumour has it their fish sammich is pretty good. I've been eating wings here since the early 80's..

I've been to this sports bar about 4 times now, and I'm impressed each time I go. I'm loving it ! The food is pretty dang good. My favorite so far is the lobster special. The burgers are good (nothing too crazy or fancy) and the soups are really good. Definitely not your typical neighborhood sports bar, so to speak. The drinks are pretty fairly priced, at least average, and I believe the food to be as well. The service is top notch and so is the entertainment. Plenty of TVs to go around for everyone, and something great playing on each one. I recommend this sports bar if that's the environment you're looking to be in for the night. This isn't a macaroni grill or a Cheesecake Factory. But even then, it's pretty dang good for what it is...a sports bar !

Great place for wings, beer, and to just chill. Ordered seafood combo which was a bit pricy for such a small portion. Have had other items on their dinner menu but haven't been too impressed... When I come here I stick to their appetizer menu...and beer :)

I've driven by this place for nigh on 15 years now and, really, in all honesty, would have never stopped in if it were not for fellow Yelper Mary Ann pointing out its highlights. The main highlight currently being an awesome $20 for a 2 lobster dinner with baked potato or fries. A UYE was set up and I was set on going. Don't let the outside of Rickeys sway you. From the outside, it looks like the inside COULD be a great little bar, or on the other hand, from the outside it looks like it could have poles running up from the counter to the ceiling, if you know what I mean. However, it IS a great little bar. Fancy pants it isn't, friendly and welcoming it is, with a traditional American neighborhood bar set up, a rectangular bar in the center with booths and tables on the outside, lots of tvs in full view of all tables and some arcade games tucked neatly away near the restrooms. It's currently undergoing a renovation and thankfully the wooden booths and tables that have been there since day one are staying (who doesn't love a high backed booth in a sports bar?). Now, as for the food, well, I can only speak for the wings and the special lobster dinner we had tonight. If you are a wings freak, the wings are vinegary. Very much so. Deliciously so! They do charge extra for blue cheese and celery. $1.00. Ain't going to break your bank. The lobster dinner however was UH-FUCKING-AMAZING. BEST LOBSTER I HAVE EVER HAD. Plain, ordinary lobster. I was expecting to come out with Housewives of Miami lips as I have had in the past with lobster, but nah...this was plain, simple steamed lobster. And big, and sweet, and delicious. And I got roe in mine ! FIRST TIME EVER I have had Lobster roe! Guinness was good, not poured right with the two part pour but not stale tasting and good enough for me to order a second. A good night for first times all around!.

Thanks to the fact that fellow Yelpite, Mary Ann C. initiated a UYE, I got not only first hand introduction to what is Rickey's bar and restaurant, but also to one of the most delicious, biggest bang for the buck lobster dinners I've ever had. Rickey's turns out to be a sports bar. It's clean, well organized with a polite accommodating staff, friendly patrons, somewhat divey in general but certainly not a total dive bar having loads of good quality wall mounted flat screen televisions, a big bar area and an upside down pool table mounted on the ceiling; the decorative type of course, but it's always nice to see a pool table that you can look up to. As a sports bar or as a bar in general it wouldn't pull much more than Three Stars out of me, but as a restaurant offering weekly lobster specials, as in two cold water lobsters each having a weight of about a pound and a half, perfectly boiled, totally delicious, served with a potato side and exquisitely though simply presented for mere $19.95, it's got to be a Five Star in anyone's book. The lobster was some of the best ever, as was our wait staff, particularly Teresa, and having dinned in the company of three other accomplished Yelpers, I can attest that this is not only a culinary but a general conclusion of fact upon which we all full heartedly agreed.

The best chicken wings in South Florida. This place is like Cheers. You see the same faces every time you go to the bar. The look of the restaurant has been updated and is much more attractive than the old dark dungeon look they had for thirty years. The beer is cold and the wings are great. Enough said.

Great local sports bar atmosphere. The food is good and they make some decent drinks as well. It's a great low-key place to hang out with friends and one of my favorite spots in Hollywood.

Excellent blackened dolphin ceaser salad. Wings are great as well and the fish dip a recommend. Great daily specials to chose from. Quick service for a lunch break.

Let's face it... This place is no frills. And by frills I also mean has no windows. Venture inside of this sketchy looking bunker and you might be surprised at the friendly service and mostly decent food. The drinks are good and prices really can't be beat. The last time I went, I wasn't in the mood for bar food- def don't go here if you want something halfway healthy. However, last night I was really in the mood for a cheesesteak and it really hit the spot. It came out quickly and was inexpensive. I would've waited longer because the people watching was entertaining... But it's good they were quick because I like being in buildings with windows- call it a habit. Try the hot sauce, it's phenomenal.

Don't let the outside fool you! Rickey's is the real deal. I will go ahead and say they they have the best Rueben I've ever had. Splurge the extra dollar for seasoned curly fries. The wings are everything they're cracked up to be...get them with garlic. I've had so many items on their menu: soups, salads (the Caesar is delicious), burgers (the one with the fried egg, OMG!), wraps and nachos. So you obviously don't come here for your vegan green smoothie and side of kale, but it's worth the extra time on the treadmill. Service is always nice and takeout is fast

Neighborhood bar. Austere exterior with no windows. Inside lots of T.V.s. Great to watch Sunday football. However, the wings are overpriced and mediocre. Not bad. Just. Well, you have had them before. At every sports bar across America that you have ever been in.

One afternoon I decided to stop by Rickey's to try their wings, as I haven't been able to find any decent ones in the area. Unfortunately, the eating experience I had there was one of the worst I've ever had, and will also be one that I will never forget. First off, the service was horrible. The server was extremely rude and short with us, and even had the audacity to carry on a cell phone conversation while taking our order. After about an hour, our overpriced wings arrived at the table. The wings looked like they came from an emaciated, diseased chicken on its last legs. One of them appeared to have a tumor or growth of some sort, as the wing was barely recognizable as chicken. To give it a try, I mistakenly bit into one of the least rancid looking (which by the way were room temperature when they arrived at the table) wings in the bunch. The chicken was obviously rotten, as I immediately spit the chicken out and almost vomited. After inspecting the chicken more, I found what appeared to be a maggot lodged into the meat near the bone. After this, my group promptly got up and left the restaurant. Not only would I never eat at Rickey's again, but I strongly believe they should be condemned by the health board for serving the most putrid, foul meal I've ever had the misfortune of biting into.

Bar food at its best with a no fuss, no muss menu. I thought it was going to be dark and creepy inside on account of the windowless facade but to my surprise it was clean, warm and inviting. At around 10:00 on a Saturday the small crowd was diverse with a group of seniors at the bar and younger folks scattered at the tables. There were a million TV's showing everything from Fox News to baseball and World Cup soccer. The music is modern and upbeat. We ordered the fried mushroom appetizer and though the mushrooms tasted canned the breading and horseradish sauce were good. We asked for a side of ranch and the consistency was a bit thin but the flavors were right on. The French dip was tasty, the helpful waitress suggesting adding provolone. I put some of the horseradish sauce on it and it made all the difference. The loaded baked potato had fake cheese sauce (our favorite!) and was delicious. For the price and friendly service this is a great restaurant to try.

Don't let the outside fool you. It is a great place to go to. I've been coming here for 20 years. The wings are usually why I come. The drink specials are cheap and good. The staff is always friendly and you always feel welcome. It feels like a bar you've known forever. I also like the southwest salad.

  • John D.

The outside is not very impressive and the building has zero windows but don't let that fool you. There are a lot of locals that frequent the bar and the staff knows their names. I've been frequenting Rickey's since I was in high school. It's always had great wings and good food. They have plenty of televisions for sports games and also have a popcorn maker for a self-serve popcorn appetizer. Now I visit with my wife and kids it's always been a clean fun atmosphere for the family.

Service was very slow due to Under staff. Not servers fault she tried as best as she could to keep up. Not convenient if you're looking for a quick lunch. Salads are good and selection seemed diverse. Will try at another time not rushed during lunch hour.

i came here to meet up with a old friend..ive seen this place for many years but never came in ..i was impressed on how it looked on the inside ...it had a comfortable vibe to it and wasent over crowded which is what i prefer they have a good menu for food and i had a good time .id go again if i was in the area (:

This is a guy bar. The minute you walk in, its dark, televisions everywhere, and there's a pool table on the ceiling. Here its all about man food. Chicken wings, burgers, and beers. Excellent place to go with the guys, be it a work lunch or hanging out to watch the game. Rickeys has the right price and the right atmosphere for a guy's night out. Parking is available directly behind the restaurant, but its small..you probably have a better chance parking on the street (metered) be careful not to park at any other store's parking spot as they do tow frequently here.

Take the five star rating for what it is. A five star rating for a wing place, not for Morton's! This is my favorite of the Rickey's locations. It's a bar with a "Cheers" kinda vibe to it. Dive? Ok, maybe. Guy bar? Yeah. But when the cravings for wings hits, this is my number one "go to" place, where I know they are going to be sooo good. My only complaint would be that I can't order just flats. They have a great lobster special, and make a great onion soup. Wish I could tell you about other menu items, but even when I plan to order something else, I always give in to the wings. Service is always friendly.

Used to love this place as a kid. Great for Dolphins/Heat games! They have their own hot wing sauce, that tells you right there, they know food. I haven't been here in a couple years, but it's still up and running, so I'm sure it's still just as delicious as before

I wound up going here for kind of an odd reason. The owner, Billy Mitchell, was featured in a documentary called King of Kong (side note: I am unsure if he is still the owner but when I watched the documentary he was). One day while in the area my boyfriend and I thought what the hell and decided to check it out. I have been here 3 times (I live in Miami so it's not exactly in the neighborhood) and enjoyed it. Every time I have ordered wings, usually a combination of habanero and garlic, and they have been spicy but flavorful. I think one time I may have tried the nachos and they were your standard nachos. The beers are really cheap and it has a divey atmosphere but I like it. They also have a free popcorn machine so you can snack on that while you wait for your food. If you like beer and wings this is a good, reasonably priced place to go. I've never spotted Billy Mitchell there but maybe one day my luck will change..

Food is ok. I've eaten here a few times, and it's the same each time. Servers with poor attitudes. Seems like owners let a lot slide or don't see the service issues.

one time i was trying to break the donkey kong world record currently held by billy mitchell. to keep me fueled for this event i was throwing back red bulls and stuffing my face with hot wings drenched in rickeys world famous sauce. everything was going great until rickeys world famous sauce gave me the worst case of the squirts i ever had in my entire life. i would have broken the record if it wasn't for billy mitchells diarrhea inducing famous sauce.

  • Mike J.

Oh man, I love this sauce. I put it on everything, Cheerio's, pizza, coffee, chicken wings, you name it. I even put this stuff in my dogs bowl and he can't get enough. Its no wonder Rickey's hot sauce is #1 amongst the gay community.

    (5)
  • Bernardo A.

What's up with the great reviews? Rickey's wing sauce may be famous, but it's not great. Mostly liquid butter-flavored oleo. How hard is it to fry chicken drumettes and flats? The hamburgers are average. The fries are frozen. Bottom line, the food at Rickey's isn't any better or different than at any other dive, anywhere. The dining room/bar is dirty and has obviously not been cleaned in ages; however, I was unfortunate enough to see inside the kitchen when the door swung open as I was picking up my to go order. Beyond disgusting.

Great little hole in the wall. The food is good and comforting. I especially like the wings and French onion soup. Cheap beers which is always a good thing.

I've been coming here for over 30 years, It's not really bad but like most everyone else coming here 30 years or more we kinda mumble and lose eye contact when pressed as to why we've been coming here 30 years. Don't let the 3-Star rating fool you, this joint is every bit the 3.5 Star establishment. Their food over the years has pretty much been consistently decent to somewhat good but never 'write home to Mom' about. Ironically I finally broke down and wrote home and Mom insisted on coming here for Mothers Day of all places, I have witnesses.. Rickey's is the closest thing down here to the television series 'Cheers' where "everybody know's your name", it has been and always will be this way. Every single time Wife and myself have come, same mugs in the same seats, ask her. As far as 'regulars' go, when I first starting coming here 30 years ago the Old Timers told me this place was already 30 years old even back then. I never had the heart to look up their claim when the Inter~webs came around because those fellas and myself were all Navy men comparing Battleship and Mermaid tattoos and past women friend stories. In all fairness Rickey's was so broken down back then it was like saying Sly Stallone or Mickey Rourke are forever 30, I wanted to believe them. So My Wife and myself pile into the back of my Parents Minivan, everything preset to Wild Vanilla scent, Magic 105 and a perfect 72 deg, a slow-motion Uber ride for free. Wifey and myself haven't been in a few years so as we pull up we notice it no longer looks like an original McDonald's, mustard yellow brick with red trim, walking inside we notice it no longer looks like a set on an '80's MTV video. Let me pick up the pace, I'm an honest man. Even I hate re-reading my own reviews the next day after sobering up. When my Pant size was 27 inch through 32 inch waist Rickey's wings could not be beaten, but, they sold the place and for a period of time during my mid-thirties (waist size) their wings were nothing special if not anythingmore than decent. But, to my surprise everyone's meal on this past Mother's day was pretty good, really. Mom, who's day it was, loved her French Onion soup. She claimed it was topped by a full 1/2 inch of Cheese, I'm a man and know man stuff like this, it looked more like a 1/4 inch of Cheese from my seat but she loved it. Step Dad's Steak Sandwich was large, looked great and he loved it. I was too focused on the 2 steaming Lobsters next to me on my Wife's plate to ask him for a taste. I ordered the 20 wing's for $18, neked with medium sauce and Wifey got the twin Lobster deal like I said which has always run from Thursdays through Sunday, both surprised us. Both were very good actually. *THIS IS IMPORTANT* (the entire review is long-winded and about us but please read this..) Forever now Rickey's has had their famous Thursday through Sunday Twin Lobster Special for $20-$24 but my Wife is claiming the menu said 'At Market Price' this visit. **********************************UPDATE**************************************** Just got off the phone with Rickey's and the Twin Lobster Deal IS A SET PRICE OF $28.95 NOT 'MARKET PRICE' It was a rare Family outing and we were all Bluh-Blahing so we really didn't look at the receipt. I'm going to call them when sober tomorrow to ask about this, I'll write their response as a tip on my 'check-in'. Overall my take is Rickey's food is a tad bit better than it has been for some time now, the service was markedly better. I HAVE to throw this in, it was really cool for me. While eating my Step Dad told us his Uncle was coming here in the '50's, He never told us that before. Just a note: The 'Regulars' and 'Regulars' seating arrangement thing is real, Just like the show 'Cheers'. Like I said I've been coming here forever. Show up and seat yourself at the South-end of the bar around 3:45 on a weekday, the 7 to 9 60 somethings that all come in at once 15 minutes later will all be polite but trust me, you're sitting in one of their seats. That's why they're smiling (at you, not with you), I just smile back.

I went to Rickey's for the $22.95 lobster special advertised in Clipper Magazine three days after it arrived in my mailbox. "Lobster Special $22.95 for two lobsters 3-9PM Thurs-Sun." We were charged $25.95 for each order. I showed the ad to the waitress who brought it to the "owner" who REFUSED TO HONOR his own offer. As a local in a tourist area I have ONE RULE. Should I get ripped off by cheats who do not honor their own ads, coupons, pad bills, miscount drinks, or add obnoxious tips for a party of 2, I DON'T GO BACK! It makes no difference if the food is good or not. If the establishment is not honest and honorable there is NO REASON to go there. There are enough honest and honorable "chicken joints", sports bars and other restaurants that no one should need to get ripped off by thieves. Unfortunately this type of behavior is all "too common" in South Florida. SHAME ON YOU!

We tried Rickey's this past weekend because we were in the mood for some seafood and live in Hollywood and saw the reviews on Yelp. We weren't disappointed! It was so much fun- from the popcorn machine to the Ms. Pacman, and the eclectic crowd, it was really a good time. We had the peel n' eat shrimp and fish and chips. The shrimp were not exceptionally big but they had the best natural flavor to them that I think I've ever had. I even asked our waitress where they get their shrimp - they were that good! The fish n chips was what I'd expect and tasty, too. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to take my husband back.

Rickey's Lobster special is as good as it gets!!! The lobsters were super fresh and sweet. Four of us Elite Yelpers had the special and it was a blast. They bring you a platter with two perfectly steamed lobsters. A nicely done baked potato with butter and sour cream on the side. It's not all fancy but wow is it a deal. Theresa suggested that you call ahead to make sure they have lobsters available as they only have what they fly in for the weekend. I 've always been lucky and they've had them. Once I even stopped in at 3:00pm after a day at the beach and got the special. Their wings are great too. I like their original with garlic the best. Another favoirite is the ribs. The clam chowder is made fresh and is comfort food. Overall it's a great place to hang out with friends and have some awesome food!

Rickey's is your typical SE Florida dive bar. It is one big open room with a large oval shaped bar in the middle. I had to make the pilgrimage here after seeing the movie, "King of Kong." Food and booze are both reasonably priced. If you are looking for a cheap fresh Mahi Mahi sandwich, this is the place. During happy hour, PBR is only a buck fifty on tap! Alas, the owner is no longer the "King of Kong" and that is a good thing. If his ego was any bigger, his head would probably explode!

TWO MAINE LOBSTERS + POTATO FOR $19.95 . WOW ! Four members of the Yelp Elite team, including Marqus R met for this lobster feast . They fly them in direct from Maine and talk about a lobster feast, Why cook when you can have them do it for you. They only sell them on Saturday & Sunday , 5pm until 9pm or when they are gone like tonight at 730pm. Its a sports bar ,it it's a restaurant, it's both. There are 16 flat screen TVs on the walls, for the size of the place its like footballrama. We were greeted by our server Theresa, she was sweeter than key lime pie. She was there with a smile and very fast service. She was very professional and was there for our every need. Ask for Theresa when you arrive and come hungry. Happy hour stars at 4pm , well drinks are $2.50 and Domestic beer just $2 for draft and what a selection they have. So get ready, tie your bib , get ready to feast. For those few people who don't eat lobster, there is chicken, steak, and baby back ribs.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but when I walked in I found a very comfortable local bar feel. A number of families were eating dinner there and I sat at the bar to have a couple of beers and a late night snack. The wings had a great flavor to them and were cooked very crispy - just the way I liked them. Very reasonable prices and the lobsters looked good (though I didn't have one). Will be back next time I'm in the area.

I've been coming here for 30 years and they finally remodeled! The food is good, not great, but I keep coming back. Service is hit or miss, it depends on what waitress you get. I wouldn't go out of my way, but if you are in Hollywood and want wings, this is the best you'll get.

  • Claire N.

My husband and I have been going to Rickey's for nearly 30 years, and I have to say that tonight we were extremely disappointed and over something that they easily could have taken care of. The menu they gave us showed items that were listed as $1.00 less than they actually were. When they brought the bill and we pointed out the discrepancy, the food server said that they had not changed several of the menus and refused to honor the price that was posted. Our food server brought another food server over who also said there was nothing they could do. Shame on you, Rickey's...faulty advertising and refusing to honor your own mistake! Well perhaps you just lost a long time customer; granted $1.00 is not a huge amount of money; taking faulty menus out of circulation and correcting the errors with a magic marker isn't a lot to ask either.

Very dissapointing. Use to eat here back in the 80`s when the food was edible, now I believe they have lost the ability to even care what comes out of their kitchen.

I must say I have driven by the place for years, and always thought the place looked like crap from the outside. I read the review and decided to try it myself-went on a Friday about 1pm and the place was pretty crowded. Bar was pretty full so I grabbed a booth and a waiter was there quickly. Ordered the 10 wings dry, garlic, hot, and iced tea. Everything came quickly(wings in about 12 minutes-that's a plus). Its hard to mess up deep fried chicken wings. They were good. I like them a little more crunchy but they were fine. The service was good for me. He refilled my tea quickly about 4x. A surprise was no dessert offered, but I was ok with that too. I would give it a 3.75 stars. Decent prices, good service, better on the inside than what it looks like.

The best twin lobster deal in Ft. Lauderdale. This is the place to go if you are interested in getting your hands dirty cracking your own lobster. The service is good, the price is right. There are no white table cloths at this joint. There is metered parking on the street.

Seriously, the only reason this place gets a yelp is to warn others. Dirty, disgusting, bland food. Famous sauce? Must be famously bad!

This joint has been around since 1955 and looks it and is the home of Rickey's hot sauce. The food is pretty good, love the chicken wings and lobster special. Good place for kids as the give them crayons and paper to occupy themselves. Relaxed place to eat or just go and hang out at the bar and watch sports or play the NTN trivia game on tv. The owner Billy Mitchell is the world champion of Ms. Pac Man, which for some reason makes himself think that he is reall cool.
