Can't say I'm a philly cheesesteak snob so I'm hesitant to give it 5 stars. Some people think cheese wiz when they think "authentic" philly. Philly's explains that in a little blurb they have posted on the wall next to the table we sat at. Regardless of the authenticity debate, the sandwich itself was pretty awesome. Great bread in which they pride themselves on, and flavorful steak. I totally came to check out the orange creamsicle milkshake and forgot. Guess I'll just have to return for that :) There are three tables inside and a table outside if you care to eat in. It isn't very roomy but it'll do. I definitely recommend you check this place out if you're in the mood for a good philly. It certainly hit the spot on a craving I had for weeks.

We've ordered a couple times. First time we went, we ordered a slice of pizza. That's wasn't very good. Reheated cheese slice, but my wife like the Philly sandwich. Next time we ordered for delivery. Tried Hawaiian Pizza. It was much better than slice, as expected as it was mad fresh. With that said, it wasn't phenomenal. Just average. Crust and sauce was blend, cheese was not of high quality, but it was cooked well. Next time we tried Meatball sandwich and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Meatballs tasted like they had been frozen. Definitely not fresh. Tomato sauce was blend. The Philly was really good though. Not great, but good. With that said, a place this small should strive to use ingredients that are fresh. Do away with most frozen stuff. Make fresh meatballs! They obviously know how to cook, and people are very friendly there. I'm rooting for the small guy here.

Maybe I'm being harsh. But I'm a huge philly critic. I travel all over trying people's so called best or famous philly. The meat is pre-cooked not fresh made to order. I only ended up eating half of it. If it was delicious you'd end up finishing it. I'm 6'3 230, and I didn't finish a philly that is thinner than a subway sandwich, which I devour. Go somewhere else. Don't let the sign fool you. Uh oh... I have to go to the bathroom now.

I ordered a chicken philly. It was good. I have had better in Virginia, but if I am ever in the area again I would return. They used diced chicken and fresh mushrooms, I enjoyed it.

Got the Philly Steak and it was nominal at best. The Bread was fresh but soggy from the steak. The Mushrooms were out of a can and not even cooked, they seemed sort of heated up I guess when they cooked the steak and onions. Not much cheese on it and the meat hardly had any flavor to it at all. (even got a few big chunks of gristle in it) Ordered the Onion Strings and there was a lot of them, hot and crispy, they were pretty good, (little salty for my likening's) !

Good fries and cheese steak. Don't be put off by the rather shabby look, this place serves good hot food. Give it a try.

Two at bats, two swings and two strikes. Tried the Cheesesteak on our first attempt and it was not good. Two words: canned mushrooms. If you can't be bothered to slice fresh mushrooms for your "famous" cheesesteak then don't serve them. That utterly disgusts me. There was no discernible amount of cheese anywhere on the sandwich and the meat was pretty flavorless and very dry. The "Amaroso" rolls (authentic rolls from Philly) were nothing special at all, it was just a hoagie roll. I mean, it was fine but it was nothing but a roll. I have no idea why people lose their shit over these. Based on all of the positive reviews, we gave them a second shot and ordered a pizza. It was raw. Being that delivery took over an hour, I don't know how this is even possible, but raw it was. I prefer a thin crust, but if that's not your thing, at least cook the bitch. Nasty. Don't think I'll be returning.

My philly and fries came out in like 2 mins! Ordered a milkshake I'd been craving which turned out decent. No frills service but I didnt mind.

FOOD WAS JUST OKAY My Philly Steak was just okay. The Bread was almost gooey from all the juices trying to leak out. They definitely didn't skimp on the Onions, Peppers. However the Mushrooms were somehow rubbery and definitely didn't add any dimensions to the whole dish. Meanwhile the Chicken Parmesan Sub had only tiny hints of the Parmesan part--luckily I decided to add Pepper and Onions to the Sub which gave it a slightly beefy taste and added an extra (and much needed) flavor and kick. The amount of Onions Strings was so many! These were thin like yarn and just thrown in there--luckily they retained their crisp and mild Onion flavor. I'd suggest creating a Mayo-Based sauce to accompany the Onion Strings. BUT BETTER THAN EXPECTED BECAUSE OF APPEARANCE This tiny standalone take-out place isn't the best looking building along East Bay but the food and service was definitely better than expected.

Great cheese steak sandwich. The wings are good. But next time I'll stick with the namesake. Love the drive thru...makes it easy to pick up on the way home.

It's true-they do have the best cheesesteaks, at least within 50 miles. Their pizza is excellent too, especially their white pizza. Place is very small, only a couple of tables, so delivery or takeout is generally the best choice. But seriously, the cheesesteaks and pizza are awesome!

You might not believe this, but they have some really good white pizza! The prices are decent and (when using delivery) the service is prompt. I can't offer an opinion on the cheese steak, but hope to try it with my next order.

Stopped by last night to grab a couple of cheesesteaks. Philly's is located in a tiny building about 20' wide sitting in the middle of the parking lot of a shopping plaza. Not much atmosphere here, but it was clean, and I was hungry. Here's an ordering hint: you can add a long list of toppings on their sandwiches and there's a small standup card on the counter that lists them all. As the online menu shows, they have much more than just cheesesteaks, and it's a very large menu for such a small restaurant. I ordered up two large steaks with prov, green pepper and mushroom. It didn't take long for them to land in a bag and head out the door, and I managed to avoid being tempted by the fairly big selection of Philly area drinks and Tastykakes (if they can get them). When I arrived at a family members location, we opened up the wrappers and both of us were pleased by the amount of meat and toppings. I thought the flavor of the Amoroso roll was good, but while the meat had ok flavor, it suffered substantially from being too dry. The prov, green pepper and mushroom toppings had good flavor, but they still couldn't overcome the dryness of the meat. While I'd say Philly's is an ok place to grab a cheesesteak if you can't leave the Largo area, if you've got the time it's well worth it to head up to Main St in Dunedin to find Delco's Original Steaks. My scores on a Tampa cheesesteak place scale: Atmosphere: 1 Service: 4 Food: 3 Value: 3

I never been to Philly, but i know this is a damn good sandwich. I have been coming to Philly's for some time now and they never have done me wrong. They serve up some great steak with onions, peppers, and cheese melted into the sandwich and not thrown on top like some after thought. No mayo, no lettuce, no tomato, don't ask for it and screw up your sandwich. Trust me, large cheese steak, extra cheese with onions and peppers and you will sit on your couch and open up your wrapper to a sandwich from heaven or Philly.

Philly's features a nice selection of subs and side items, as well as pizza. They offer the best onion rings around. Both the zesty chicken sub and their speciality the cheese steak are favorites of mine. The potato skins are also excellent. Fine food and always quick delivery. 5/5 stars.

The bread for the Cheese steak was good, the meat had a different texture than I like but had a decent flavor. I would have liked more cheese, since it is a Cheese-steak after all and more onions. A friend tried the Butter Garlic wings and said they were greasy and didn't have any flavor. The potato skins were greasy. The fries needed seasoning and maybe a little more time in the fryer. Same with the fried okra...needed more flavor. Did they forget to use salt and pepper? Tasted like they forgot to change the grease in the fryer. The lady at the counter had a hard time taking my order over the phone and then complained when we wanted to split the bill. The place is tiny and only has a few seats inside and maybe a few benches outside. Don't look into the kitchen, it might scare you away as it did not look clean. If you are going for the cheese steak, there are better places to go!

Good Pizza. Really Good Pizza. I know that Tampa is not a pizza city but this place makes up for the lack of real italian pizzarias. going to the beach we always stop here and get a pie. The choices of toppings is great but they need to add turkey pepperoni and turkey bacon for us non porkees. The crust is great and the cheese and sauce tastes freshly made in house. We also got a small cheese steak sandwich and it was okay. Pizza is their forte' and they do it well.
