I am giving this place 5 stars, and not because I liked it... actually, I found it quite good, but because my 18 month old LOVES it. I got some pulled pork with the sweet BBQ sauce and he ate almost my entire serving. I mean, he pigged out on that pork :) which is super rare for him. He is usually a pretty picky eater. Plus a free ice cream cone for him when he was done!! I haven't had a bad experience yet here. We shall return. Loved the people too!! Great services.

I am a self proclaimed BBQ enthusiast. I'm Texan. I worked at a top 50 (per Texas Monthly) BBQ restaurant in Fort Worth for 5 years. I know what good Texas BBQ is. We ate at Dickey's in Allen, TX for awhile a long time ago. It was good, had family coupons frequently and was closer. Not the best TX BBQ, but not bad. Then one day we showed up to find that they were selling fish, and changed the look of the kitchen to "hide" more from view. We never went back, That was maybe 12 years ago, I visited the Thornton location after moving to Denver and working near there. There's a separate review there. I came to expect $15 for lunch with a sliced brisket sandwich, two sides, and a 1/4 lb of jalepeno sausage. Always filling. Ordered the same thing at this Westminster location and wish I had not. The staff wasn't overly excited about a paying customer. Thornton isn't either though-but the quality of food makes up for it. What I received on my plate was so sad. Almost like the girl serving me was mad at me for something and I don't know why. See the picture and you'll understand. I ate quickly and left. I won't go back to that location with Thornton just about the same distance in a different direction.

I was very surprised to see some of the negative reviews about the Dickey's in Westminster. My family visits this location frequently, and we have never had less than a great experience with the food or the service. I, too, post a negative review when I have a bad experience with any business, but only after I have attempted to resolve the issue before leaving the business. In this particular establishment, I am pretty sure that if the ham or brisket was dry (or any of the other food-related complaints that were noted here) had been mentioned to the owners, they would have corrected the issue right away. We'll keep going back. In fact, I think I just decided what to have for dinner tonight!

Excellent bbq. I've been here a dozen times or so and I've been happy each time. They cut the meat in front of you, and even ask you how you want it cut. The sides that I've tried are great, beans and mash with gravy. They have 3 types of bbq sauce that you serve yourself. Sauce is next to the FREE soft serve ice cream.

So amazingly awful all the way through. Overpriced, lousy service, crappy atmosphere... And let's talk about the food, shall we? The ham was dry. The brisket was even drier. The beans were almost cold. The fried okra was largely flavorless. Skip it. Just terrible.

Ugh. Disgusting way overpriced food. I would be better off cooking for myself. That's not pretty either.

After returning here a few times, mostly because the next closest BBQ place is 20 minutes further, I've taken more of a shine to this place. The food in general is probably worth about 3 stars but the friendly staff earns another star.

Burp... OY! - Sorry about that. I'm a professional carnivore. I ordered 1/2 slab of ribs, I found them very salty - till I remembered: A) I do not DO salt. B) Get over it - because NOT everyone is on a specific diet. NOTE to Yelpers that cry/whine that a place may not cater to their every whim - cook your own damn food. OK off the soap box, I found the ribs to be very tender and meaty, smoked - but not overwhelming with it. I asked for one side of sauce and got two- based on the price... I was not charged for it. I was welcomed at the door with a smile from a woman cleaning the area. There was not remnants of a lunch rush or trashed dining area. I'm beyond Anal - since I have worked in food service for years. I was surprised that that there was so many employees for the time of day. I found them engaging and pleasant! Dicky's is a Franchise and this location did NOT feel like a cold/faceless entity- with mindless drones - barely doing their job. Compared to (I did some research) the price is really good for this area for BBQ. I found the BBQ sauce: not overly sweet, balanced with hotness and tang, - perfect. As stuffed (and full of an American Lager) I have fantasy's of trying their:Turkey, Sausages, and Green Beans. Burp, again- sorry. Meat Coma/ nap time.

I really enjoyed my sliced beef sandwich with onions/pickles. The brisket was really tender and moist. I added some of their spicy barbeque sauce onto the soft and buttered buns... delicious. I had the potato casserole for my side, it was good also. My only minor complaint was the sweet iced tea. It was not strong, at all. It almost seemed to be watered down. Other than that, everything was solid.

Brisquette is pretty dry and was kinda warm. Most of the flavor was in the bark and thats ok, but it did not seem like it was smoked.

How funny that I have to go to a whole other state to try a restaurant that's sitting in my own backyard!?! I'd never even heard of Dickey's before some work associates took me to this NW Denver location. They said it was BBQ so I pictured something like famous Dave's. It was nothing like that.. This location was small, with little tables throughout. You walk in and you can just smell the BBQ sweetness! The staff was friendly and the service was quick. You walk through and they make your order right in front of you, similar to Subway or Chipotle. I went with a recommendation from my colleagues and ordered a one meat plate which includes 2 sides and a hot roll. I opted for the Honey Ham as they happened to have it as a new menu item (other options were normal BBQ offerings like brisket, pork and chicken). I tried the Green Beans and Bacon and the Potato Salad, although the side options were many. Everything from Cold Slaw, to Fried Okra, to Mac & Cheese. My dinner was $9.99 and I felt it was reasonable for the amount of food I got - the serving of Ham was more than I could finish! The ham was delicious! Funny enough, I didn't try the BBQ sauce. You add it yourself. It smelled amazing but the meat was so yummy, I didn't need it so I skipped the extra calories. They smoke all their own meats and I have to say the ham was perfect! I didn't even have to cut off any fat, just thick tasty pieces for my pleasure. The Beans were not great, the potato salad was awesome! Now that I know about this place, I'll definitely try it again back in Vegas. Dickey's... it's great BBQ! Who knew?

I want to say I travel around the country eating BBQ for fun. This was my families first time here. Our fist impression was an amazing smell as you drive up. My second impression is why do they have three people watching one guy take and make orders when there is a line out the door? After a short wait we got our food and it smelled awesome. We were surprised by the good amount of portions we got. We ended up ordering too much. While we were eating the building got kind of smokey, little to smokey for my taste. We did like the fact the owners were there walking around checking on people, same ones standing around watching two people do all the work. Although I did like the sauce and the food. It's not Moes. I will definitely be back though considering it's location to my house.

I have only ordered take out from here. I think the chicken and pork is amazing, they cook the meat really well. There is not too much fat hanging off of the meat also, which is nice. They serve it with warm soft buns, yum. I haven't dined in yet, I'll let you know when I do!

I always get good food and good service when I come here! The BBQ sauce is delish!!!! Super sweet staff every time I come in, and the location is perfect for where I live. I have only eaten the chicken because I only eat poultry and fish, but the chicken is very good!

We ordered the xl three meat combo for a birthday at work. I'd never heard of the place before, but wow...that was the best brisket I've ever had. Definitely going back and taking my hubby.

Awsome BBQ. We have been looking for some good BBQ and I'm telling you this is the real deal. The smoked meat was juicy and flavorful to perfection, and the sides were also awesome many to pick from and some are very original. I will defiantly be back. The prices are great for the portions size. and the people that work here are friendly and helpful.

This was the first time I have been to a Dickey's and it was a great choice! Coming from Texas I am a sucker for brisket and this place had some great brisket! The mac snd cheese and BBQ bean sides were awesome too! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants great BBQ!

This place. Can't say enough good things! TONS of food for great price. 2 people can easily share one meal! Options are broad. Staff is awesome. FREE SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM. Clean environment. We have tried a few different things, all the meat is delicious. Sides are awesome. This is real bbq. KT and brothers have nothing on this place!!!! #favorites

Been here twice already and loved it both times, will definitely be back soon! The turkey is fantastic, and some of the best ribs I've ever had -- when you say "fall off the bone", this is what you mean. We are so happy to have another choice in food along Sheridan to break up the terrible drag of "do you want pizza, Taco Bell, Burger King or McDonalds again?" It's very family friendly, especially when you get to have a free vanilla ice cream cone at the end of your delicious BBQ meal. I am very much looking forward to bringing our family back here soon.

I think this might be more of a 4 star place, maybe four and a half... I hate when people rate on experience, service, appearance, or other inconsequential things... RATE the goods, folks, come on!!! I'm from the South, and this just might be the closest thing to Home, aside from Famous Dave's. I've tried Brothers, Southern Hospitality, Yazzoos, and this is #1 or #2, for sure. The place might look a little divey, but I was pleased with the food. You get what you pay for, right? The prices are reasonable ($8-$10 bucks a plate or so... ) and I think the portion you receive is fair. They had some sandwiches and some other things that were priced lower, and I think they have daily specials, too. The sides were really tasty and well made. We had the okra, mac and cheese, and the green beans. Delish! The meat was flavorful and tasty. I personally like their BBQ sauce... a thin peppery sauce is what makes for a good meal. I don't get too much into the sweet sauces. Try it!

My first time here since they opened right next to the house (uh oh!). I really have no BBQ "experience" or any "real" preferences, so I guess you can say that this review is based off of their service. We came here for dinner on the first day that they opened. Things were still being figured out - they got my side order wrong and so I had to wait a little longer (which was not a problem at all), but the manager came by our table and gave us a couple of free sandwich coupons to compensate (they also let me keep the sides that they thought I ordered. Holy cow, deep fried galore!). All the staff there is very friendly. :) Love the fried okra. P.S. They have free self serve ice cream - there's only one flavor, but hey, who's complaining? I can't do BBQ very often, but I will definitely be back!

I admit I am not a BBQ expert but dickey's always hits the spot when I'm in the mood for some ribs, brisket or creamy mac n cheese. The employees are ALWAYS friendly which is a nice plus and there is also a free ice cream machine for dessert. Price is moderate and affordable for a good lunch.

Dickey's Barbeque Pit is a pit. I went to the Sheridan location by Guitar Center and the ghost of the Westminster mall. (It's crazy to see the Brunswick Zone on 92 all the way from 88th.) I went in and saw one couple eating quietly at a table in the center of the restaurant. Another lady was chatting up the fellow slicing the meat and another couple was chatting up the cashier and what I assume was the manager or owner. I queued up patiently awaiting my turn to pick up my take-out. A hold-up ensued and eventually I was greeted by name by the cashier as the boss-man disappeared to the back area by the drive-thru. The cashier promptly delivered my bag and drinks. (Thank you for pouring them and not forcing me to do the extra work. Thanks, Bill Burr for pointing the ludicrousness of making paying patrons do work for the restaurants they are frequenting.) I hopped in my car and as is customary I decided to sample a fry. I was not fully cooked. As I drove home somewhat disappointed that I would have to further cook my fries I decided to try another just to be sure I didn't pick out the one defective waffle fry in my bag. Sure enough the second fry was even more undercooked than its predecessor. I got home to the family and had to put ALL of the food into the oven. The food actually and surprisingly came out well, but my disappointment could not be cooked away from my dinner tonight. Looking back on my dinner tonight I feel as if I got the B-team of BBQ restaurants. You know what type of restaurant I go to when I want to cook my own food? It's called a super-market. I'm out of the review and the desire to return to Dickey's.

Dickey's as a chain is ok, not great. This particular location is on the lower side of that scale. I love the sauces and the sides are usually pretty good. However, the meat has a tendency to be a little dry and occasionally tough. I live in Westminster and when I'm craving bbq and don't wanna drive too far, I come here. If there were another bbq place nearby, I doubt I'd come here very often. That being said, there isn't another bbq place nearby, and the food is still petty decent, if maybe a little inconsistent.

My husband and I have eaten here twice and loved it both times. My husband is a brisket guy and I am a rib girl. He is pretty picky about bbq and we are usually disappointed with bbq in restaurants. He swears by the brisket! I think the ribs are great. The sauces are decent too. We have tried some of the sides; mac n cheese has good flavor but is a tad mushy. The baked potato casserole is delicious. Overall, the staff is friendly, restaurant is clean, food is delicious, and it is a great value. We will be back!

Pretty good BBQ!!! I went in because of the other reviews on Yelp!, and it fulfilled those expectations. I asked the young man at the counter for a good sized portion of food, and he let me into "the know", with their not on the menu "3 meat plate". The portion wasn't too bad, but it could of had a little more meat, hence the 4-star rating instead of 5. Great sauces, and great sweet tea brought me back home to Kentucky for my half hour stay at Dickey's in Westminster, CO.

This was the second time I have been to a Dickey's BBQ place. Although the location of this one leaves much to be desired, I am a fan of BBQ! The place itself is kind of run down, it could use some updating. Moving on to the food....I had the texas style brisket with a side of okra and loaded baked potato casserole. The brisket was awesome. It was so juicy. The okra was hot and fresh, but the potato casserole, was not too great. My husband had the pulled pork with jalapeno BBQ beans...again the meat entree was awesome....the sides not so much. My daughters both had the bbq chicken sandwich and both loved it! In all I think all the meat entrees were really good. The service was good and friendly. When we went they were slow to take orders and a line started to form. I kind of echo what the last person said...it seemed like they were waiting for the guy to cut the mean before they began anything else....in any case it was a really good inexpensive meal.

The males in my family love this place and I went with them for the first time this weekend. I don't eat pork or beef so wasn't expecting much. They had the best bbq chicken sandwich I've ever had. Loved it. The building is no-frills, but it was clean. Women who were working there were not particularly friendly - one of them even seemed a bit hostile - not sure what that was about. They were out of forks and straws so we had to ask for those items to be refilled. They have free soft serve vanilla ice cream which was a nice ending to the meal. Loved the creamy coleslaw. Fellow diners didn't like the green bean side.
