This place is friendly. The moment you walk in to the moment you leave - they have that small town friendliness that I really never knew. I mean Denverites are usually friendly but short and quick with there small-talk. We were talking about stains on the carpet from a painting 2 year old and a ketchup bottle. I felt like our waitress was apart of our family and it was nice catching up- yet I never met her before. The Steak was amazing. I should have got it medium rare, Not sure what I was thinking at that moment. lots of wine, desert, 2 dinners ran about 150 with tip. "Beef and lobster" cracked me up. = filet mignon and lobster tail. Great amazing service and decor, nice views of the sunset, great live music on the patio. If I owned a restaurant, I would hope that it was this inviting and have the quality of food such as this.

Tonight I had the 6oz sliced prime rib appetizer. Very good except it have been no more than 2 - 3 oz at best. Sorry, but I don't like to be short sheeted.

This has to have been one of the best dining experiences the wife and I have ever had. We went there for our anniversary after having it been recommended from a friend. It's a bit of a drive, but worth every mile. Our waiter, Jordan, was fantastic. He asked if we were celebrating anything special and he was able to answer questions about the history of Sedalia and the house (the restaurant is a house that was built in 1889 for a family who had 13 children). We were seated at a lovely table in a room upstairs that had a nice view of the surrounding hills. As we dined and sipped our wine, we watched the sun slip behind the hillside and light up the sky in blues and pinks. Wonderfully romantic way to spend an anniversary dinner. The portions were great, the prices were fair, the food was flavorful. I had the beef marsala and the lobster gorgonzola. The wife had the filet mignon. Both were great. At the end of the evening, we were treated to a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Just a great evening.

I've been wanting to try this place for 6 years, and have just not made it down there until this last week. Wow! I'm going back! The charm of the old house the restaurant is located in, is the first thing I enjoyed. The staff were exceptional, helpful and friendly. Garlic bread was perfect. Salad and soup were good, but the rack of lamb was divine.

This place is a little out of the way, but it has character! It has a nice patio and little gazebo outside and the inside looks like a more tastefully decorated version of your grandmother's house. I've been here twice, both times for Denver Restaurant Week. Both times, the service has been great. The waitstaff are very nice and attentive. I must say, my dining experience here was much better the first time around. I went with my family and had the lobster soup as a starter. We also tried a salmon appetizer, which was great if you like raw fish. Each of us ordered a different entree so we could try a little of everything. The lamb "lollipops" were great, the salmon was prepared perfect, the steak was delicious and the pasta was tasty. The pre-set menu didn't include dessert but we got a free panna cotta for my sister's birthday on the house. The second time around, we got lobster raviolo (one large ravioli), which was delicious. I also tried their chicken tetrazini soup and a salmon tartar-like dish. Both were awesome. For my entree, I ordered the lamb shank and my friend ordered the prime rib. My lamb shank was good, but not quite what I expected. For me, it was a little over cooked, as I like to eat my red meats rare. The prime rib however, was excellent. It was very juicy and seasoned well. For dessert, we decided to splurge and order a tiramisu to share. While it was very good, it was a little unexpected. A traditional tiramisu is layers of coffee-soaked lady fingers and marscapone cheese. The tiramisu had an additional layer of chocolate cake in it. All in all, this is a good place, it's an especially great deal when you go for Restaurant Week.

Not only does the service stand out, but the ownership is top notch. What a great evening with my wife of 30 years.

If you're in this neck of the woods, this a friendly and welcoming spot for dinner. Good wine list and Italian fare. If you sit on their nice outdoor porch you can watch a constant stream of trains going by. If they are offering a pork chop when you are there, I'd recommend it. Huge. Perfectly cooked. Savory and tasty. Word.

The food was horrible!! We've heard of this place, finally went, 5 of us and nobody had a good dinner! Don't order any seafood!! The shrimp was horrible and the lobster we sent back! How Italian food can have no taste I don't get. On the way home we were actually laughing at how horrible the food was! NOT worth the drive or the PRICE!! The only nice thing were the servers! They were outstanding.

This is one of my husband and my favorite places to go for a quiet intimate dinner where we can expect the food to be wonderful and no negative surprises. we try and go several times a year since we can always count on good food and service!

Gabriel's is a bit of an oddity. First of all, it's in a house. Yup. Makes you feel like you are dining at someones own place. This brings a different feel that I think works quite well for them. The food is average to good, but everything I had felt very heavy. Is it worth a trip to Sedalia? Unless you live in the area, I would be hard pressed, especially when there are so many better restaurants in the metro Denver area, but if you're in Castle Rock or Highlands Ranch, it is a cute little spot worth a look.

This was my third time dining at Gabriel's and as always it was a pleasure. The atmosphere allows for a very special evening that will not soon be forgotten. The service was superb and I'm a bit embarrassed that I don't remember our server's name as to recommend her. Gabriel's four course meal selection is very good and the quality and presentation of the food is exquisite. While they don't have a children's menu they were more than happy to accommodate our 8yr old with a large bowl of soup he thoroughly enjoyed. I make a 45 minute drive to eat at Gabriel's and it's worth every minute of it.

The atmosphere is nice. The service is great. It's a very small menu so you need to be open to eating thing you wouldn't normally choose for yourself. There was one salad to choose from and I didn't care for it at all. It had carmelized onions on it which to me was a strange choice. But like I said, it was the only choice. I could have had soup instead but the one choice in that category was even less appealing than the salad. There were two choices for appetizers, the one we chose was artichoke hearts and they were delicious. We both had steaks for the entree, they were ok but nothing special. We both asked for medium and they came to the table well done. Not earth shattering but a shame to ruin such an expensive cut of meat. The bill for the two of us was $120. That's a lot for a mediocre meal, at least for me. Next time I'll just visit a steak place like Texas Roadhouse and have a perfectly cooked steak at less than half the price and get to choose any appetizer or salad I like. In the end I guess I'm just not the type of guy who wants a chef deciding what I want to eat.

WE LOVED IT!!! The atmosphere, service and food is 5 star quality. Gabriel's is a rare gem. My boyfriend and I were served by Vera in the original part of the house, it was so romantic! I loved the butternut squash ravioli! I had the Steak and Lobster combo and I LOVED it, the chef paired the two sauces like a pro!!! My boyfriend's Shrimp Scampi was excellent. Thank you Gabriel's! Your attention to detail made our night spectacular! We will be back!! Great wine list too!!!

My wife and I dined at Gabriel's on the Sunday after Valentines. We had a tremendous experience. It was our first time there, and did not know what to expect. The setting in an 1890's Victorian was spectacular. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. The service was excellent, very attentive and personable. Solid wine list, not too big but not too short. First two courses were smallish, but we expected that given fixed price. New York strip and lobster combo was very tasty. Wife's shrimp scampi was the best bite of the night though. Overall, would recommend for a special night out.

Just don't go here. We've tried to like this place. Our friends in the area say it's their favorite restaurant. It's just not good. Last time I was there I had the lamb with risotto. How do you mess up lamb in Colorado? It was raw in the middle. Raw. I ordered medium. The risotto was mushy on the outside and crunchy on the inside. How do you do that? Over and undercooked at the same time? The plate was a completely unattractive gray mush. My wife had eggplant. It was clearly frozen. Vegetables came out of a bag it looked like and tasted like it too - mushy. We don't understand how people like this place so much. Even the decor is bad. A fake plant was sitting over my head and was so dusty it left dust on my jacket when I stood up. Never going back.

Wonderful as always. We come here fairly often to eat but this time we had a private wedding dinner there and the service and food was excellent. Jan went way out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed to make our private room beautiful and was very prompt at answering e mails. If you want a great meal with great service at a unique location then this is it. Dont go there and complain about he trains and decor. ! This is an historical building. They are keeping it that way,. There are plenty of boring upscale places to heat in Denver. Great food, service, music on the patio in the summer. Whats no to love?

I don't know what happened to this place. We used to go here quite a bit but this last visit was pretty forgettable. It was restaurant week, so I get that it's crowded. It wasn't so much that it took too long - it was that everything we ate was just "meh." I had a chicken dish that was honestly not very good at all. I've had better at Macaroni Grill. The wait staff was OK - a little odd - but really the issue is just pretty average food. We've been coming here for years but the constant drop in the quality means it's off our list. Too bad, it used to be really good.

After debating between 5 or 4 stars, I am giving this great establishment the 5 star WOOHOO as I think I'm more enthusiastic than the "Yay I'm a fan" rating :-). Trying to rate this family owned restaurant purely on a foodie based scale would be to overlook the unique and subtle allure of Gabriels. The food is traditional, no fusion here but it fits a niche! Housed in a Victorian style mansion with lush gardens, it exudes romance and subdued elegance. The menu is designed so that you select your entree and that sets the price for your 4 course dinner. Prices are not inexpensive but for a range between $25 - $45 you can enjoy a four course dinner, plus additional charge for tip & drinks. The tables are covered in white linen table cloths and dimly lit candles. This past Saturday evening my husband and I escaped, sans kids, and enjoyed one of the best evenings out in a long time. We dined at a small table situated in a bay window looking out over main street (Highway 64) in Sedalia. We were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable server. Beginning with a nice bottle of wine, we settled in for a leisurely dinner. My choice for the first course was the smoked salmon appetizer which was refreshing and delicious. The portion wasn't huge and that is a good thing since there is so much more to come. The next course was the MOST delicious soup I think I have ever enjoyed. I may have been so impressed because I wasn't wowed when they announced that the hot soup was a tomato spinach soup. Hmmm, thought it sounded pretty mundane and frankly uninspired. Well I couldn't have been more wrong! One taste made me swoon.... it was a lightly creamed bisque flavor with subtle hints of tomato with herbs and spinach. The courses continued until my incredible grilled lamb placed atop a dollop of heavenly Dijon cream sauce arrived. Sooooo incredibly Delicious! My husband enjoyed the beef in a Burgundy sauce and lobster topped with a Gorgonzola cream finishing sauce. He was smitten. We tasted each others dinner and argued over who had the best dish! :-) I honestly was in a food (and wine) comma by the end of dinner and could not eat another bite, even if it was creme brulee!!! The dinner experience should be enjoyed on a evening where you want to just take your time through a leisurely four/ (five course if you can manage desert) evening. Just lovely. ***Not everyone will enjoy the limited choices when you select between 2 choices for appetizers, choice between 2 soups and choice between 2 salads. You just have to trust that the choices are delicious albeit limited. The price does not include drinks, tip or desert but your entree and 3 other courses are included.

Definitely an upscale happy hour - not your 'bar' food nor bar ambiance. the lovely entrance can give a 'stuffy' atmosphere making us feel on our first visit that we are so underdressed for this place but the greeters all dressed in Tux's are genuinely happy to see us as is Keith, the owner. We were also warmly greeted by Mike, the bar tender. HH Food choices are beyond 'HH bar food'. Just one of 7 choices, the Ahi tuna on the menu is a10 star.

perfect, all i can say. the house was built in 1880 and is a piece of history. the food was good, the service excellent. i rarely give 5 stars but have to for this place. its expensive and i doubt for 2 people you will make it out of there for under $90 but definately worth it

This restaurant - as is - would be a 5 star jaw dropper in 1972. But its growing long in the tooth in all of its offerings. The service, while very attentive and solid, was only a shadow of the polish you would expect at a Morton's or Bookbinders. The menu, again solid, is in need of some energy. None of the dishes were inspired or unique. I didn't feel the need to finish anything at our table. The pseudo - Victorian building has some charm but feels more like grandma has been living there a really really long time. Frankly, if you live in this area, its probably the best thing around. But its certainly not on par with other 5 stars in Denver, Philly, NYC, etc.

Not sure why the average reviews.... We went there for Denver Restaurant Week (52.80) and it was EXCELLENT! BEAUTIFUL atmosphere and GREAT food! We have the lobster gorgonzola and a beef marsala / shrimp combo. Both were well above average. Service was perfect as well!! We will DEF return!

After reading many reviews on this restaurant, I was excited to try it. The food was fine, but quite honestly, the service left much to be desired. We sat for probably 8 minutes before a server even came to the table. The appetizer course was a little cold when it arrived, and we had to ask for a refill of drinks, which arrived when I was nearly finished with my entree. For the prices, I would not choose to return.

Great food and service. Higher priced, so it's more of a special night kind of place. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it didn't completely wow me or blow me away.

  • Ajay R.

Sorry, but I don't get it. You drive a long way to get there (it's in the middle of nowhere), and pay a LOT of money for food that was just average by all relative measures. I had a shrimp pasta that was decent, but not very memorable. The lamb was a little better, but again, not that memorable. It was decent, but not something I'd repeat.

Ate here with friends during Denver 5280 Restaurant Week. I can't think of one thing that was lacking. Never have I enjoyed such service, great food and was treated like we had all night to relax over our meal. I had the beef and prawns as did most of our party. One had the lamb. Everything was superb. I feel silly as I have had friends tell me for years how wonderful Gabriel's was, but I had never tried it before. I suspect that we will become regulars, as the food was that good.

Great romantic special occasion restaurant if you want to take the drive to Sedalia or you have a driver. Everything tasted amazing and I can't wait for our next visit. Very friendly staff and waitress. Would like more choices on appetizers though.

This place is absolutely lovely. The setting and atmosphere is romantic and classy. I love the set up of having different small rooms. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Recommended for special occasions or for a romantic night out with someone special!

I am remiss in not reviewing this place previously but they had fallen off my radar screen since they are pretty geographically undesirable (just off Santa Fe Drive in Sedalia) but we were at Bud's on the way back from Castle Pines visiting friends and I spied Gabriel's and said to my friend, "We used to go here all the time. Why haven't we been back?" I used to entertain out of town clients here frequently if they were staying at our "corporate cottage" in Castle Pines and people loved it. So, we made a reservation and returned. This was last fall as I recall so you'll excuse my lack of specificity about what we actually consumed. My overall impression is that this place is kind of the Briarwood South. If you like the Briarwood, you'll probably like Gabriel's because it is kind of the same business model - IMO. It's like eating dinner at your Grandmother's house. A little stuffy and formal for my tastes - definitely an older well heeled crowd. It's a four course prix fixe menu (depending on your entree choice). You get an appetizer, soup, salad, and choice of about eight or ten entrees. They either change their menu or they have neglected to update their website because the on-line menu is pretty different than the one we were offered. If you have room for dessert you're going to pay for it but not excessively. So, you're going to pay $40-$50 per person (minus booze, dessert and tip) but, hey, it is four courses. In my experience, the food is pretty to very good and the service is very good indeed. Food tends to be traditional and "non-threatening" - no molecular gastronomy for sure. Some nice choices of good meats, seafood and pasta with Italian flourishes - we're talking American Italian here for the most part. Also, I like their wine list which is also "non-threatening" (you may actually recognize some of the wines) and fairly priced. I am torn between 3 and 4 stars because I think there are many restaurants in Denver these days that are far superior, but, honestly, it's a lovely place with pretty good food and some people will find the atmosphere "charming" and "romantic". Is it worth a drive to Sedalia? Probably not very often for me. But, if you live South and are looking for a traditional, upscale, romantic spot - Gabriel's might be right up your alley.

Just went back for about the 6th time to Gabriel's for a VDay dinner. Cant believe I've not reviewed them before. If you like top notch service and a deliciously hearty but sophisticated meal, you'll love Gabriel's. The restaurant is actually a historic home, very romantic & charming. PERFECT for a special occasion. Our waitress was superb as usual and the food was excellent. Its not the trendy glitzy loud and crowded downtown hipster experience, but that's why we love it. Its not a cheap dinner but worth every penny for the whole experience which is consistently excellent. Easy to find close parking, beautiful outdoor covered patio for nice weather. Cant say enough great things-- as long as they're open, we'll continue to enjoy how they do dinner.

Staff and food were good but come on! Lets get a decorator in here quick! Pictures all different and off kilter. Poor choice on decorations and drapes old and dirty as were the books on the shelf. Train os very close and frequent. Like the staff and food was ok. Not going to return.

Almost hate to post this review in fear of the secret getting out. Gabriel's has a fantastic Summer Live Music Series on their beautiful patio with food and drink special that make it the prefect place to spend a relaxing Friday evening. Live music is only on Friday and Sunday and you can view a list of performers at gabrielsdenver.com/enter… . The music is generally low key, but always entertaining. The venue is charming, has a spectacular view, and the food & service are outstanding. Word of caution for the best prices get there early to secure a table and order during happy hour between 4-6 PM.

Gabriel's is our restaurant of choice when we want to treat ourselves! From the ambiance of the large deck with summer music and the local railroad passing by to the four star multi-course meals to the attentive staff, it is where we want to go for any special occasion on the south side.

We both have to say the food was amazing. The only thing we were confused about was how long it took us to get our food. 3 other couples were in a room with us and filtered in after us. Well they all received their main course way before ours. It was over a hour after we were seated to receive ours.

I've been to Gabriel's many times. Our friends like to go there, so that's why we keep going back, but I always leave hungry. Even after ordering several sides and dessert. I think the food is great, but the portions are really small. I love the look of the restaurant. The decor is charming. It's very romantic and welcoming. The servers are always polite. But it's a long drive to leave hungry, so I don't return very often, and I only do because friends suggest it.

The four stars are for the decor. We came here for our Christmas company party. We were seated upstairs in a gorgeous private room decorated lushly with Christmas lights! The building is very period looking with lots of nice features throughout. Had some great champagne and relaxed over a four course meal, I'm really not going to yelp too much about the food in specific as it was a paid company party we really didn't get much choice over the food which was pretty much a set menu. I must however say the food I did have was quite bland. But then again i'm not used to having to order soups and salads etc. I tend to stick to entrees and dessert. Wait staff seemed polite, I will certainly be going back there very shortly to check it out in a foodie capacity as opposed to a company Christmas party.

I don't get why this is reviewed so little, it is kindof hard to find by searching. High class! Came here for 5280. I'll note the two minor negative things first: They didn't take our jackets at the door as they did the folk in front of us. Second, we had to ask for the wine menu twice and didn't get it until about 10 minutes after the second asking. I chalk both of these up to busyness. 4 courses. Scallops, onion soup (made w vegetable broth, not beef. Score!), mixed green salad and then the entree. I had swordfish which I was all kinds of apprehensive about but it was goddamn delicious. It was accompanied by scrump mashers and broccolini. What is broccolini anyway? It's good. Boy had filet mignon which he was making all kinds of moany sounds about so it must have been good! We also had 2 dirty martinis and their house vodka is pretty tasty whatever it is.

I rarely give 5 stars, but this place deserves every bit of it!! First of all, what fantastic and attentive service! It was a big birthday for me, so my husband called and reserved their best table. All four courses were outstanding and we savored each one! I had the scallop to start, which was just perfect, the mushroom soup, garden salad and steak with lobster. You didn't even need a steak knife for the steak b/c it was done so perfectly and the lobster was already taken out of it's shell, so no work was needed - the sauces for both were outstanding as well! My husband had the salmon tartare, mushroom soup, caesar salad and the same entree. Because it was my birthday, they brought out a yummy cheesecake for us to split, the coffee was great and the wine was terrific! It was such a wonderful culinary experience, my husband has requested a return visit for his birthday - can't wait as it will be Christmas time and assume the place will be even cozier all decorated, etc. Thank you, Gabriel's, for a memorable dinner and one we will be looking forward to replicating with another visit soon!

We ate here on a Wednesday night. The place seems to be an old home that was converted into a restaurant. The service, and food were both Outstanding. I wasn't a big fan of the ambiance. The crowd was older and sort of pretentious, the inside felt like you were in someones home. Also they didn't have any music playing so you had very muted table conversation that everyone in the restaurant could hear. The atmosphere on the patio and in the bar seemed to be a lot better I would recommend asking to be seated there. They have a fixed appetizer and salad course, the night we went it was a Waldorf style salad, and a delicious raviolo. I had the Veal which was tender and well prepared, the sauce & sides were both top notch. We were celebrating my birthday and were given a free fruit tart desert. It was also very good. It seemed pretty much everybody there was getting the free desert. I would give this place 5 stars if I like the atmosphere a little better. Overall probably the best food in the area!!

I've eaten here on two separate occasions and find the food to be just great. The all-inclusive meal has portions that are just right - allowing you to enjoy your entree without feeling "stuffed." Meals have arrived cooked as ordered and at the right temperature. A previous reviewer fussed over the trains. During my last dining experience two trains did pass. They certainly did not shake the whole house nor did they drown out conversations. Were we aware of them - of course. They blew their horns because they are approaching an intersection. My one challenge with the Gabriel's - it's dimly lit. I know their going for "ambiance" but it could be a tad brighter.

Gabriel's is phenomenal, wonderful gourmet food. Recently when we went I had Lamb Dijonnaise: Colorado Lamb Chops sautéed in a Marsala wine-Dijon cream sauce, accompanied with mushroom risotto and fresh vegetables. Just fantastic! My husband had Seafood Orzo: Sautéed Lobster, Sea Scallops and Prawns with lemon zest and a hint of saffron in a white wine and butter sauce which was also amazing. For appetizers we had Crumb Encrusted Sea Scallop In a Beurre Blanc sauce over fresh spinach and Smoked Salmon Primavera: "Hot Smoked" Alaskan King Salmon, hand flaked, melded with diced red onions and pimentos, peas and corn, mixed with Dijon mustard and mayonnaise. Both were very delicious. Compliments to the chef. Take advantage of the 52.80 deal and eat here while it lasts! Yes, it's a house and I love it, but may not be for everyone. Yes, it's next to the train tracks and the train will probably come by while you are there for maybe 2-5 mins. If THAT upsets you, then you have much more serious issues. If you are a feminist, woman's-libber and it upsets you that the waiter gives your husband the menu, once again, you have bigger issues. If you are that easily bothered and/or offended, then probably you should not go out of the house, EVER!

excellent food but the ambience - dated, heavy decor, lightbulbs unchanged, pictures hung off kilter - was out of place and feels too old and uncared for...definitely needs some modernisation to take it out of the 60s feel.I wish the owners took more pride in the presentation of the place and not just the food - especially with discerning customers these days. i wasnt too bothered with the train noise but that's also because i have been forwarned of the loud noise. come here for food (they are pricey!) and service (wonderful staff) but dont come if you expect a wellkept surrounding to boot. such a waste of a beautiful house.

Gabriel's is a Northern Italian all-inclusive Italian experience. Each meal comes fully loaded with salad, appetizers, soup, and the like. Appetizers are fresh and inventive (though small in size), but the mains are somewhat uninspired.

What a wonderful "date" restaurant. My wife and I were given Gabriel's as a recommendation for our anniversary and we loved it. We were met by the owner at the door and were shown to their new bar. We sat and had a few drinks talking with the bartender. The meal is a one-price 4 course meal (reasonably priced). I think each meal was less than $25. The food is fantastic, the ambiance is great and the staff are all really friendly. This one is a must visit.

I loved Gabriel's! I do not know why it has so many average reviews. We did not experience the train passing by, but in my opinion if a train going by for 5 minutes is going to bother you, then don't choose a restaurant that is literally located next to the tracks, especially if that restaurant is on average $35 and up a person. Every penny was worth it! My boyfriend and I had an early Valentine dinner here and it was delicious and romantic. Our service was impeccable and the place was full. We were seated next to a large party and they were loud and that kind of sucked, but it did not ruin our time at all because everything else was so perfect. They even had my favorite white wine Vernaccia, which very few restaurants have, what a great start to our dining experience at Gabriel's. And this truly was a dining experience (so don't go if you want a quick fancy dinner). As you know from the other reviews you receive a 4 course meal with your entree price. We started with a smoked salmon with primavera appetizer which was awesome. Then we got a very well seasoned cream of mushroom soup. Then we got a mixed field greens salad that had strawberries, goat cheese and almonds in it with a raspberry vinaigrette. Everything was full of flavor! And everything was perfectly portioned. Then we received our main course. I ordered the veal with sea scallops over a bed of pasta with a delicious creamy white wine sauce. OMG this was soooo good and so much food. I mean the scallops were cooked perfectly and the pasta and sauce were yummy. I will admit the veal was just OK, but everything else was just so darn good that it didnt even matter! My boyfriend ordered a pasta dish that included lobster, scampi, and scallops. There was no skimping on the seafood on that dish. And the red sauce was so well prepared. Although I was so full and th thought of more food was painful, who can pass up on tirimasu with layers of chocolate and chocolate dipped strawberries on the side? I can't. So naturally we ordered it and shared, of course. This was one of the best tirimasus I have ever had. Like I said if you want a true dining experience then give this place a shot. Sometimes its fun to dress up and be wined and dined!

I was with a party. We all ordered drinks, I ordered a martini. The female bartender mixed my drink. When she poured it the top of shaker came off in the glass. She still served it to me. I don't think I've ever had such a watered down drink before. I said this to one of our party. The bartender fixed me another drink, which was fine, it actually tasted like gin this time. We paid our bar tab then ate. As we were leaving I looked at the bar tab. The bartender charged me for the second drink! I didn't even order it! So much for making things right. I spoke to the manager (?) on the way out. He asked me if I had paid for it. When I said yes, he said he would speak to the bartender. OK, I'll speak to all my friends, too. So much for making things right.

I think this resturant would have more appeal if they understood it is the year 2009 and the man doesnt always order the wine. My husband and I had dinner there Saturday night and I asked for the wine list and it was given to my husband. My husband always lets me pick the wine becuase I am the wiine expert in our family, It was insulting to me... The food was just good not great and the atmosphere stuffy and very old fashioned, no need to go back any tim ein the near future,

My wife and I were there to celebrate both of our birthdays, and our 33rd anniversary. This was a very special event for us. My wife ordered a steak and specifically asked that it be served WELL DONE with NO PINK showing. The chef prepared it and it was served MEDIUM RARE. What the...?? We returned it, and I returned my halibut/lobster so it would stay "warm" (was that a piece of lobster the size of a shrimp? This was the "special"??) . I got my halibut back - dried out, and my wife got her steak - STILL PINK. Unbelievable. Now, after 1/2 hour, we simply re-ordered and my wife settled for some sort of chicken dish as she absolutely didn't trust the chef now, and I asked for a new halibut/lobster as mine was dry as a bone the second time around. By the way, the "special" halibut was a 2" by 5" by 1/2" piece - and the lobster was another chunk the size of a shrimp. $41 for that? The chef never came out to apologize but the host comforted us with a smile - gee thanks. We got a free after dinner coffee drink. Never again and extremely disappointed.

Gordon Ramsey's worst nightmare: a place that seems stuck in the 80s, at least, if not before. The food was all overcomplicated and swimming in sauce, making it unappetizing and unattractive. Let me first say that we should have complained that night, but we were there on our anniversary date, and I didn't feel like getting into it. Everything looked very nice as we walked in. We sat in the front dining area, just off the bar. I thought the idea of a 4-course meal was nice and was looking forward to it. We had opted for this restaurant over something in downtown Denver because we wanted some place quiet, which isn't common downtown. I ordered the filet mignon and hubby ordered the osso bucco. My appetizer was the mushroom ravioli. When I received it, it wasn't very hot; It was lukewarm. The pasta itself was kind of leathery, like it had been microwaved. Then, I had the lobster bisque, which was also lukewarm. It was also completely smooth, with no pieces of lobster in it. That didn't seem right to me. The flavor was ok, I think, but being lukewarm, it is kind of hard to say. I was really looking forward to the filet mignon, which I had ordered medium rare. I am a full-blooded carnivore. I really enjoy everything about a good steak, and I like it medium rare. This one was not medium rare, or evenly cooked at all and was completely drowned in "port wine reduction". I think I heard a watery moo a couple of times before I could get my knife into it (seriously, it was cold in the center and done more on one said than the other). I would have sent it back, but with all that sauce, I couldn't see it going back on the grill successfully. The sauce itself was quite sweet and edging closely up to that sweet-barbecue-sauce line. There was also some truffle butter on top, which never completely melted because nothing was very hot, and it all became kind of congealed after a few minutes. I'm not really sure why the truffle butter was there because it was completely overwhelmed by the other sauce, and the two didn't really go together in flavor. It was served with veggies, which were under cooked and cold and potatoes, which where overcooked, and yet also cold. Hubby said the osso bucco just "didn't taste right." He loves osso bucco, but said this one just seemed overdressed and "off." For dessert, I had the creme brulee. It was ok, but certainly not the best I've ever had. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it just wasn't great. The service itself was fine. I found it pretty stuffy, but I get it. They're trying to be a fine dining establishment and I have no problem with that. I just wish the food had matched. Overall, it was pretty disappointing. We both commented that we wished we had gone somewhere else; even a greasy burger would have been better. I don't mind paying for really good food. This was not worth the price. At. All.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
