I was here maybe 6 years ago and got soft-serve. Based on the fond memories, we made a beeline for it after a backpacking trip. This time I got a Chicago dog and it was great. Since it was mid-afternoon, there was no line and our food was ready in a flash. The bun was a little on the dry side, but the dog itself was juicy, hot, and flavorful. Order at the counter. Because it wasn't busy that day, they brought the food to us but I'm not sure if they do that all the time. The location is excellent and within walking distance of everything downtown as well as the Arkansas River. It's a small place that's divey with painting on the walls portraying 50's diner life.

We were there yesterday and were so disappointed that we had to comment. As tourists just passing through we stopped in for a quick bite. We both ordered the German dog. My first sign of failure was when the order taker popped the sausages in the microwave! When she nicely delivered our food, I asked if they always nuke the dogs-----? She said yeah especially when it isn't busy. The casing was super tough and it was easier to just eat the dog rather than the hard bun. We definitely won't go back.

The wall artwork is authentic, but that is about it. We went here for a rainy day dinner and ordered Chicago dog, gyro and a kids meal. Watched them microwave our hotdog, which creates mediocre food. Also a bit pricey for what you get. All sides are purchased separately. Biggest turn off was employee conversation we could hear throughout the entire place while we ate- which put nicely, was not child appropriate. May be a fine pit stop for young hipsters, but not for us.
