Came in with a party of 9. While ordering, we thought the lady seemed annoyed by the need to answer questions on the pizza and helping decide what we wanted. "Don't panic" she said in a mildly bothered tone . Who is panicking? We are customers with questions. We ordered two XL pizzas. Chicken barbecue with cilantro and some other meat veggie topped pizza. The woman at the counter took our order a bit unenthused. We sit down at the table and wait patiently for our pizza to arrive. During chitchat, I overhear someone leaving say "Best pizza ever" as they leave the establishment. For some reason, we doubted it just based on the poor decor and cheesy "pizza slice" pizza plates they placed on our table. But hey, lets not judge till we receive the food. About 25 minutes later, the pizza arrives. It is the generic veggie and meat pizza and BBQ pizza. Immediately I think oh-oh. This pizza looks bad. It is smothered in bubbling cheese. The color, crust, and dough look flat and unimpressive. We begin to eat the pizza and immediately a few of us notice the dough is not completely cooked through in the center. It's a bit gooey. Amateur mistake. Worst though, was the gargantuan amount of cheese on the pizza. It was simply disgusting. If I had to guess, one pizza probably had the equivalent of 2 standard cheese blocks shredded on it. You literally tasted nothing but cheese. Everyone agreed with a unanimous verdict - disgusting. This is the type of pizza I'd expect from a carnival stand or a truck stop gas station, not a "pizzeria". We requested a box to go. While paying at the counter, we were never asked how the food was. In my book, that's bad in itself. Later on, we threw the remaining pizza away since nobody wanted to eat it. Best pizza in the world? You be the judge.

I liked the pizza but especially like the pannwiches. I came back a few times and tried different ones. They are very tasty and filling. The employees were friendly and know a lot about events in the area and other local information. They also have covered patio seating with really nice views and wireless internet. They serve beer and soda and they have fresh brewed iced tea. But the most amazing thing about Panny's is that the two owners, Lee and Carrie, are a famous mother-daughter team trained in the Japanese Noh school of acting. They have amazing costumes in the back, classic Feudal Japanese silk robes with fans and huge hats and all that stuff! Sometimes they put on their costumes and makeup - with the white face paint and everything - and put on performances in Panny's. They do Japanese ballet and singing, and Carrie plays the ancient Japanese harp. They have beautiful singing voices and I wish I understood Japanese. If you ask them to put on a show then they will deny their talent because they are very humble people, but really, someone's just pulling your leg.

Probably the best pizza around. A solid pie. Quaint atmosphere. Can't get a smile out of the people there though.

Nice variety on the menu of Pizza, calzones, pizza by slice, sandwiches, salads, wings, soups, desserts (ice cream, milkshakes) Beers are $3-3.50 and they offer tea and assorted sodas as well. ******************** The wife and kids and I travelled the 9 miles to Ridgeway on July 4th, as every place in Ouray was over-booked with tourists. We were pleased to see that Panny's has have lots of indoor and outdoor (covered) seating for your dining pleasure - and a few flatties inside to entertain you while you wait for your pie. It makes Mom and Dad smile when kids are quiet and occupied - even for a few minutes! My daughter ordered a personal cheese pizza, my son had the Calzone (which was large!), and the Ms. and I split a medium pizza with italian sausage, mushrooms and black olives. The good news here is the portions were suprisingly large and we liked the thickness of the hand-tossed crust as well as the taste of both the marinara sauce and the other ingredients. We needed a large pizza box for leftovers, and had no room in our tummies for ice cream - which was probably a good thing! If you need some good pie, Panny's is worth the drive from Ouray!

We ate here due to a rain storm and not being able to cook at our campsite. The pizza was good. The crust was soggy in the middle of the pizza but crisp and tasty on the edges. My nonpizza sauce son had a pizza specially made for him and he loved it! We all wanted different pizzas so got what they claim as the personal size and it was huge! We ate our leftovers at 13200 feet the next day as we were 4 wheeling, very tasty. I think next time I will give the panwhiches a try.

Close to end of our 9 day vacation, we arrived from Moab, Utah and found this quaint pizza parlor after refueling our motorcycles. Between the 6 of us, we had salads and a variety of pizzas to include a "panwich". It was huge and could have easily fed three adults. I had the 3-meat pizza - perfect. I don't remember the cheese but I believe it gave the pizza its great flavor. My wife had the Gluten Free pizza and claimed its the best crust she's ever had. This is a quite a compliment for someone who's had celiac disease since 2003. I cant give it any less than 5 stars, no issues; friendly staff and ole time, rustic setting in a cowtown setting. Wish we had room for ice cream. Oh well, next time

The pizza we got was delicious! It was called the Combo - A traditional type of pizza with Italian sausage, pepperoni, etc. The kitchen is a little slow, but the staff are very very nice. I'd go back, but think I might place my order by phone first before getting there.
