Small mountain towns are great for local diners. Good to see something other than pizza. Dot's is not fancy, but a homey mountain place. My only concern was that the menu is pretty limited. Especially on a Saturday (which it was). I did not think I wanted breakfast, but sure did not want a burger. I did want a biscuit. So we ordered the breakfast with biscuit, ham, two eggs, gravy. It was awesome. Biscuit is huge, plenty of ham, eggs cooked perfectly, and very good gravy. Made me glad I ordered breakfast! Be sure to try the raspberry jam that is on each table. Service was fine even when the credit card network went down. They worked through it. Give it a try next time you are in Nederland! DaleP

Not very impressed. I went for the farmer plate; a good sampling of the offerings. The hashbrown/potatoes were dry and crumbly, semi-crispy, and just plain unenjoyable. This should be an easy mainstay for any breakfast diner place, and it just isn't there. Really just a tad of butter can do wonders when cooking potatoes. The scramble veggies far outnumbered egg. I basically picked through hunting for egg and munching on some veggies, and sent back half a plate of bellpepper and onions. Coffee and service were about par. Service was slow at the (crucial) end, working the check and payment. Bill came to $26 with two plates, coffee and tea. I wouldn't have minded if I enjoyed the food a little more, but the value doesn't come close. The only things that prevented a 1star review was the biscuits. My wife said they were the best she's ever had. I also really enjoyed the biscuit and house made raspberry jam at each table. Looking at sister restaurants, I guess the heuvos rancheros is the thing to get here, so maybe just avoid the rest of the menu?

Finally, a decent diner in Ned! LOVE the BLT, the bacon is top notch, and they know how to make grits. Most of CO doesn't even know what a grit is, but Dot's is never lumpy, and real butter...YEAH!!

Exciting new addition to the Nederland restaurant scene... Hearty breakfast with fresh ingredients served all day and afternoon sandwiches. Amazingly quick service and friendly attitude.

This is your classic Dot's diner. Great biscuits - amazing gravy! We always get the small house breakfast, it's the perfect portion size. Now, you have to understand that we're in Nederland. I love my town but you must understand that the norm for service is always at 75% compared to Boulder or Denver. Sit back and relax!!! It's the way we function up here. The cooks are great, they listen to awesome music. The owner is one of the cooks. If you have a problem HE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT. Don't be afraid to ask!!! He cares a lot about his diner.

Descent diner. The food is not overly tasty but overall hearty and the wait staff really works hard. Great biscuits.

New place up in Nederland is hitting its stride. Good food (great biscuits!) and friendly service. Great spot to have breakfast before hitting the slopes or going out for a hike!

As it was our first time experience, we were not sure what to expect out of an American diner. We were thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious and very classic and energized us to go on a hike through Colorado's beautiful landscape. The portions were just the right size and the service was exceptional. We ordered lighter but still filling foods that all used the freshest ingredients and it was incredibly healthy. The coffee was superior. The biscuits are amazing, I strongly suggest one. All in all, this was a great experience.

Finally. I breakfast joint in town that is consistent, clean, tasty, quick, and open every day. I really enjoyed my French toast. Lots of familiar faces and great conversation. I will be going back. A great addition to a great town.

Great little place, with yummy food. Ordered the special omelet with spinach, mushrooms and feta, came with country potatoes and an oversized biscuit. On the table fresh raspberry jam for the delicious biscuit. Food was fresh and delicious. It's labor day and service was quick considering they were completely packed. Definitely a stop to make!

A great place to go for post hike food. The Ned is really the only close place by to eat but this place has breakfast all day. Just what we needed to have after a strenuous hike. Food was very tasty and didn't sit long on our plates. Not exactly sure if it is he mountain air or our incredible hunger, but the food didn't last 5 minutes.

Just waited sitting at our table for 10+ minutes without being acknowledged. Finally got our order in via a really stoney waitress. Meanwhile table next to us sat there for another 5 before finally asking for some coffee and someone to take their order. The older woman working the front told them to look at the sign on the wall - "be nice or leave" - and then kicked them out. And they were locals. Unbelievable. It was incredibly rude. You should never treat customers that way.

This place has got some major kinks to work out. Fingers crossed that it can do so and I can bump up this star rating. There were lots of problems here. Most of our orders were wrong, there was hair in my omelette, the menu was lacking, and the food was poorly prepared, people were packed in and unable to get out of their tables without hitting another party (and not just a little bump, but a knock-your-table over kind of bump). All around, it just was not that great. The positives: the waiters were friendly and attentive and the biscuits were incredibly good. All in all, I will not be coming back unless some major changes are made. It's disappointing because I am such a fan of the Boulder location. P.S.- The owner's passive aggressive comments on every less-than-positive post may be indicative of Dots subpar operation. While undoubtedly the restaurant can think up an excuse for every wrongdoing, why does Dots have to resort to so many? I was not impressed by Dots in the first place, even less so after reading the owner's responses.

A great diner with great classic breakfast fare and biscuits and burrrritos! It's a small venue so sometimes there's a 5-10 minute wait, but it's always worth the wait. If you have a burrrrito, have a Xmas burrrrito with red & green chile! Staff is friendly and prompt, place is clean, we'll be back often!

Oh lord, the green machine of herbal medicine has cleaned the ranks of any semblance of competency. We walked out when we realized one waitress was serving everyone in the place! Go on an off hour and perhaps the breaks will have taken place and those glorious dots biscuits of my youth might make it to your table before the apocalypse.
