Had a good lunch with good service. And, they have Sweet Tea!

Best BBQ in Larimer County. Have been a regular here since opening week. I teach technical classes and make a point to bring the attendee's here once during the week for the AYCE buffet. No ribs on the buffet but everything else is great! Judy's beans are very good and the green beans also. You have got to try the fried cord though. Outstanding. I wish the sausage was a bit spicier but once it's swimming in the jalapeno sauce, I'm good. Usually very busy but lunch seems to be a bit quieter than it used to be. Be sure to get the Nordy's frequent flier card. Prices are reasonable for a BBQ establishment. Get pretty busy on game nights for the Eagles.

We only had 30 minutes to eat with six people. We told them, they told the waitress and we were off... She suggested the buffet got our drink orders and by the time we were back from the buffet we had our drinks. We got our bills halfway through eating and were done in exactly half hour!!! It was great service, great food and responsibly priced. I will definitely be back and suggest it to everyone that goes to Loveland!!!

This is my favorite restaurant. I love the Jalapeno BBQ sauce, the fried corn on the cob and fried green beans. Great atmosphere and always exciting!

Went there for their lunch buffet and it definitely took care of my barbecue craving! There was pulled chicken in barbecue sauce, pulled park, sausage, and brisket at the buffet. I would have to say that they were all great! The pork was super tender and very flavorful, the brisket wasn't chewy, and the sausage was super decadent! The sauces that I liked the best were their jalapeno and mustard barbecue sauces, though the jalapeno wasn't very spicy and the mustard didn't taste very much like mustard (a good thing if you don't like mustard). They definitely had a more unique flavor than the other sauces. The sides were hit and miss. They didn't offer many toppings for the salad and the potatoes were some of the worst I have ever had at a restaurant. They were very gummy and tasted like the potatoes you get with a frozen meal. The baked bean and green beans, on the other hand, were amazing! They had multiple types of beans in the baked beans and they had a lot of yummy pork in them. The cold slaw way typical and the husband said the potato salad was okay. The overall value of the buffet was just alright. It was $9.50 a person, and at that price I would have liked to have had a better salad selection, better potatoes, and perhaps some more sides. But for lunch, it was still cheaper than ordering something off the menu. Another thing is that this place gets packed at lunch and there weren't enough parking spots. People were having to park in the mud and I had to drive around for a while to find a non-mud parking spot. Overall: Good meats and sauces, and definitely go for the beans!

Love love love Nordys! You're treated like family and served like royalty! Keep it up!

Very good ribs and BBQ. The catfish is also very good. Service was excellent. They used to have a smoked ribeye steak, which was my favorite. I wish they would add that back to the menu.

A very well rounded BBQ place that does everything I've had (brisket, ribs, pork, sausage) quite well. Not quite as good as the best of Kansas City BBQ ( Oklahoma Joe's), but way better than most BBQ which rates 1 or 2 stars from me.

This is how you do a resturant. Hot fresh food. Upbeat staff that works hard. Clean and nice sized portions. You can always tell when a place is skimping on the little things. The food tastes like it came from a box or the staff is overwhelmed. Not once have I felt this way about Nordy's. Other places need to follow this pattern. You want to know why this place is a local favorite? Try their food and service and you cannot leave disappointed. I know wings can be wings no matter way you go. Give theirs a chance. They must smoke them some because they have that kind of flavor.

  • Shannon D.

My hobby is smoking meat. So I would say I know my BBQ! The first step in great BBQ is good high grade meat and Nordy's must buy the best. Everything from pork, beef and chicken are great. If you ever have them cater a lunch you have to get the carmel cookies like nothing I've had before.

This was an unexpected treat. We arrived at noon on a Sunday and the wait was aprox. an hour. What we were not told was that there was immediate seating at the bar. After securing two seats in a large and roomy bar, the service was good. The ribs were excellent and there were half dozen sauces to choose from and the two I tried were very good.

This place has a solid lunch buffet. This is all I've been here for and it's worth it at $11. The buffett size is fairly small by most standards but it has the basics: salad with toppings and two dressings, cole slaw, potato salad, green beans, baked beans, pulled pork for a sandwich, and the hot meats are usualy brisket, sausage and pork. The baked beans are quite tasty with some burnt ends thrown in for good measure. The brisket is my favorite, fairly flavorful with some good firm texture if you ask for lean. The moist in not my thing. The sausage links are descent and have a nice snappy outer casing. The sauces are all quite good, with big bottles at every table you never run out. The wildfire and Kansas are my go to's. The food is all solid except for the apple cobbler, which needs a bit of help, a bit bland and the bread or doughy topping has a bit of a baking powder off flavor. Oh well for this price I can't complain, give me some more brisket. The service is usually quick and attentive without too much hovering to get you in and out because it is fairly busy around lunch. We'll continue coming here as long as I have work in the area. I'm a fan.

I had a Philly Steak sandwich that was the best. They use brisket and the flavor was fantastic. When I think about it I want to go back and have it again. I would recommend it to anyone going in to give it a try.

My boyfriend and I got the Feast for Two and the portions were huge! There was no way we could have finished it by ourselves. We probably ate like half of it and boxed the rest to take home. It was delicious though! We got the ribs, chicken, sausage, pork, waffle fries, pasta slaw and mac n cheese...everything was so good. I usually don't like mac n cheese all that much but I really like theirs. Our server was very friendly and service was great.

    (5)
  • Jesse M.

Ok let me start by saying the staff is friendly, but tend to neglect service. As far as barbecue goes it's ok... I would put it at the same level as famous Dave's but no higher.

  • Jessica S.

This is the place to be, especially during the lunch hour! We went on a Tuesday afternoon during lunch and the place was hoppin'... But for good reason! This place is tasty! We went with my in laws while we.were in town visiting. My husband and I had nordys before, but my in laws had not. They offered a wonderful buffet option for lunch. Man, was it tasty! There was such a variety to choose from.... Salad, pasta slaw, potato salad, green beans, baked beans, fried corn, corn muffins (you do have to ask for this as its not on the buffet), sausage, pork, apple cobbler.... I'm sure I'm forgetting something. And I'm not embarrassed to say I tried it all! Yum sums it allllllll up!

    (4)
  • Ryan C.

So so good. I was surprised by how much I liked it. I would put it at the same level as Famous Dave's, which I know is not the best. But it is definitely a great meal. The BBQ sauce is a little different. I can tell they sweeten the Kansas City style with mixed berries. I could tast strawberry and raspberry. That is a good thing. The spicy one has some fire, and a good strong tast of peppers. Best of all it is one block from my hotel. I am here long term for work. Definitely going back!

    (5)
  • Daniel S.

Not bad, but not great. The service was definitely good. The server was friendly, although I still don't understand why they need to "explain" the sauces. It basically reminded me of Famous Dave's. They have a good selection of BBQ meats, so I tried the 2 meat sampler with brisket and sausage. They had the choice of lean or fatty brisket, which I've only ever been offered in Texas. The brisket was good, but not extremely flavorful. The sausage was definitely the best thing on the plate. Overall, I'd probably go back if I lived in the area and hadn't been in a while, but I wouldn't be a regular.

We went to Loveland today to go shopping at the outlet mall. What a joke, the stores were about 90% vacant. The high point was definitely going to Norby's for lunch based on the Yelp reviews. Very glad we did! Both the wife and I had the lunch buffet and ate way too much......but there was so much to try. Pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket and sausage with salad and several side dishes. And, peach cobbler for dessert. All the food was very tasty and fresh (especially nice considering it was a buffet). Several homemade sauces that were pretty traditional but not bad at all. Service was excellent and the place looks very clean and new. It's about an hour away from us but we'll definitely be back.

  • Don W.

Excellent. Not much else to say. I've been here a number of times for lunch so I thought I would try it for dinner. Geez, the food was to my table so fast I didn't even have time to check my email. The server (Rachelle) was on top of it. I will certainly return

AMAZING BBQ. I almost cried I was so happy. Some friends took us to Nordy's...we are used to Texas style BBQ and miss it more than you can imagine. We've found decent BBQ in a couple places in Denver, but Nordy's blew our socks off! Our server, Jake, was really attentive and friendly, and the food was fantastic. Their sauces are really nice...I understand Coloradoans and the rest of the country like lots of sauce on their BBQ, but in Texas the meat has to stand on its own. Nordy's brisket was lean and flavorful, with the smoke ring that we Texans treasure. No fast BBQ cookin' here! The sausage was not "Texas style" but was good nonetheless (hey Nordy's...have you thought of importing "Elgin Sausage" from Texas?) The sides were great....corn fritters, beans, mac and cheese. Everything we shared at our table was fantastic. Well worth the drive...we recommend this one highly.

Pretty friggin good! We started with wings which were sweet, spicy, tangy. I like that they offered 1/3 rack of ribs, which were killer. Beans were awesome. Sweet potato tots were an experiment I could've passed on. Excellent service. I really liked this place.

  • Ashley H.

Definitely a Texas twist on BBQ. Spicy mac'n'cheese, sweet potato tots, delicious corn bread, ribs... The strawberry iced tea is a must-try - not too sweet & full with fresh, crushed strawberries. I got the You-Pick-2 : salad (shut it.) & super loaded potato. I wasn't crazy about the 4 different BBQ sauces. There were several cowboys here, which I was somewhat surprised? I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised since it is a BBQ place. He was in full regalia - boots, shirt, hat - eating all by his lonesome. So sad.

  • Austen H.

We had some friends ask us a number of times to come with them so we finally did. It was really good food. We called ahead so we got seats pretty quickly. We got the big platter. It was really good the service was eh. I liked the chicken a lot so I'd get that next time. It is a little pricey for BBQ but I'd go again.

  • Kate M.

Best mouth-waterin', home-comfortin', good-family-times place around! Absolutely love their family platter - beef, pork, chicken, sides, cornbread - see picture. If you are a carnivore, you'll love it!

Without question, Nordy's is not only the best BBQ restaurant in Northern CO, it's one of the very best restaurants in the region. Outstanding management. Exceptional staff. Amazing food. Very good 'happy hour' deals and an absolutely amazing buffet. I would highly encourage travelers and locals to give Nordy's a try - you won't regret it!

Great BBQ... For something different, try the Philly cheesesteak... It is delicious!

  • Julie L.

Nordy's was the place to be after the University of Colorado Greeley graduation. They accommodated our group of 20 very well and I have not nothing but high praise for everything. The sweet tea is very much recommended. The waitress wasn't too accommodating when I wanted to order the smoked sausage sandwich but would have had to take off some of the items so when I opted for the smoked sausage meal she didn't tell me just how much I was getting. I opted for the waffle fries, which has an amazing spice on it then I got the green beans which were quite good as well. Nordy's is a non chain restaurant that is very very good. I would definitely go back if I'm ever back in Loveland.

  • Heather M. S.

I don't even normally care that much for BBQ...that is, until NORDY'S came into my life! As a person who has more condiments in her fridge than food...I have a significant appreciation for sauce. Combine the love of sauces & condiments with mouth-watering meat...PBJ, PB & chocolate or Sonny & Cher, NO OTHER COMBO CAN COMPARE!! Nordy's delicious, flavorful, & robust BBQ sauce varieties REALLY do compliment their melt-in-your-mouth meats! My favorite is their smoked sausage, but love the brisket too! Well, there's like ONE item I don't like...so that will make this review shorter if I just state that upfront. Besides their delectable dishes, they have superb service too! I've never been disappointed and I have to drive over an hour to get here...it's MORE than worth the drive. It's probably kind of a good thing I don't live too close by or I'd eat there so much, not even a restraining order could keep me away.... :D

I stopped here on my way back to Wyoming. I purchased a sampler platter that said it served two or three. Two or three starving people ! Three of us ate for three days ! Everything was awesome. The staff was wonderful. It is probably a good thing I don't live in Fort Collins. I would eat there every week !

  • Tres B.

Excellent BBQ! I had the brisket sandwich, smoky but not overwhelming and thank you for not splattering the entire dish with red sauce which I am finding more and more. It was also lean and juicy. I indulged in a basket of green beans which were good, but slightly over-cooked and a bit too salty. The building, huge and modern, is chic in a cowboy way and the wait staff was exceptionally attentive and on spot. Overall a very good lunch experience.

  • Guy S.

We went there for the first time yesterday and we were both a little disappointed, I had the catfish fillets and my wife ordered the pulled chicken sandwich. The catfish looked like they were large frozen chicken fingers out of a bag. They tasted OK but I never would have guessed that it was fish fillets just looking at them. My wife's pulled chicken sandwich had a huge pile of melted cheese on it that made finding the chicken a bit of a challenge. I'm guessing we just ordered the wrong stuff because the place was packed at 1;30 on a Sunday afternoon so they must be doing something right. We'll probably give them another try next time we are in the area.

  • Michael R.

The BBQ here is very good, chicken, beef, port, all of it! All the sides I've had are equally delicious. The sandwich prices are a bit steep ($11 - includes a side) but I think it's worth it. They have several good sauces you can try right on the table so you should find something that suits you. The building is concrete so there is no sound dissipation at all making for a louder than typical environment. The only thing I really don't like about this place is that they charge almost $3 for a fountain drink! I mean... really? A fountain drink costs less than 20 cents - sell them for $1 like McDonalds. Anyway, I hightly recommend the food but order water (it's free).

What a surprise to find awesome BBQ in Loveland, CO. Our group of four ordered the Family Feast consisting of ribs, chicken, pork, sausage, and four sides. Everything was moist and flavorful, and the service was very good.

I have been back to nordys a few times lately and both times I was disappointed. both times I got a combo that had diffident things but always brisket as one of them because it is my favorite. It was dry both times. It just seemed like the quality of food had gone down a notch or two both times I was back. I am very disappointed because I LOVED their food about 6 months ago. They opened a new one in Fort Collins that I am going to try soon to see if its as good as the Loveland one used to be.

A great place for lunch, since they have a small buffet -- good for testing out a small variety of foods they offer. The buffet offers beef brisket, pulled pork, kabasa like sausage, beans, salad, potato salad, macaroni salad and other variety of foods that change per day. What is great about this place, is the offering of different bbq sauces. (3 bbq styles that I can remember: Texas Style, K.C. Style, North Carolina Style) Personally, I like sausage and pork. I felt that the beef brisket is always alittle too dry for my taste.

  • Margaret N.

BBQ is always so popular but it's basically sugar coated meat. The sides are usually dough or sugar based. Of course I know it's not healthy but met some relatives here for dinner last night. Waited an hour for a table and mediocre food. Service was pleasant and efficient. If you like this type of fare then you will probably be happy. I really hope we don't go there again.

  • Logan M.

Even when this place is packed (which seems to be quite often) the service and food are quick. Until the Famous Dave's opened up in Fort Collins this was my every-single-time pick for BBQ. Now it's a situational pick: I go to Nordy's for brisket, and to Dave's for ribs. The sauces are nothing spectacular, but they are each unique, which is refreshing. There is a good smoked flavor and the meat is always tendor and juicy. One thing I will say is to eat your meat when it arrives, as it will cool off faster than you expect. On one visit I saved my brisket for last and was very disappointed to tuck into it and find it on the cool side of lukewarm.

  • Dan F.

I'll be back to conquer another plate of ribs and brisket. The beans and coleslaw with pasta is fantastic, unique. Don't forget that cornbread too! Sports bar themed red meat splendor with less than fantastic parking and access. Good luck finding the parking lot at night if you're new to the area! But it may just be worth the trip to find out.

Had the All You Can Eat lunch buffet, and it was AMAZING!!! Really wasn't expecting a lunch buffet to be so good, but it came highly recommended on Yelp! Pulled chicken, pulled pork, brisket, and sausage on the buffet, plus lots of sides! So many things looked amazing on the menu too, so will definitely be back!!

Great atmosphere, great service, great food, not much more to say! Love getting meals to go or the lunch buffet. Wouldn't go here for a night out unless a bunch of us are meeting up, b/c I am so eating the inexpensive buffet for lunch- I HAVE to taste everything! :) Wonderful place- the owner Eric even made the bbq recipe sauces himself!

Best BBQ I've ever eaten, ribs and pulled pork sandwich are my favorites so far, and the fried okra is also exceptional!

Had the 1/3 slab of ribs, naked. Every BBQ sauce bothers me. Ribs were tender and very good. Fried okra and green beans were excellent, as always. Service is excellent, as always.

This is the place to go with a BBQ crave in NOCO. It is a unique place that has a great lunch buffet and even better dinners. The bar is well priced at $2 domestic draft and $3 premium draft. The ribs are to die for and they have a multitude of sauces for your enjoyment. There are plenty of places in the area for good BBQ but I like this place more. As it is not a major chain, and has that local favorite feel. This isn't the bring 50 packets of wet-naps place but they have 6 awesome sauces at every table if you are the douse it with flavor type. I am a beef person so the ribs are my fav. My wife is more of a white meat/poultry type and LOVES the turkey. My recommendation is do the 2 meat combo and be prepared to take some home! Only complaint is they could up the selection a little but they still have more than enough to keep anyone satisfied every time you go. Be weary for large groups any night there is a Colorado Eagles hockey game. I get in with 4 people fine but I came with a group of 12 (walk-in yah it was stupid) and it took about 40 minutes. All things considered that is not bad!

  • Alissa C.

This place is great, it's always busy but worth the wait. BBQ is delicious, and the portions are huge! My boyfriend and I split the feast for 2 with his daughter and took almost half of it home.

Being a Texan who also lived eight years in Memphis, I know my BBQ. Nordy's is great. They have the best beans I've ever tasted in a commercial establishment. I don't like sausage, as a rule, but the flavor of the sausage at Nordy's is fabulous. I'm not a fan of their brisket; just doesn't have the smoke ring and deep flavor that I love in a great brisket. That said, I was there early one day and able to have my serving cut to order so some of the outside was present. Ah, that's the way brisket should taste. SO, your cut matters. Every meat option is good if not fabulous. The macaroni is a crowd pleaser and so are the muffins. If you are looking for great brisket, I'd go to Serious Texas BBQ, but for everything else, Nordy's is my first choice.

  • Rosanna K.

Best bbq around!!!! And I think that we've been to every bbq place around since my boyfriend LOVES bbq. The ribs here are tender and juicy, and they don't put a ton of sauce on them, which I like. There are sauces on the table for you to use as well. I LOVE the fried corn. love it love it love it. I also usually get the side salad as one of my sides, and they have cornbread croutons, which is awesome. Overall, the menu has a very similar feel to that of Famous Daves, which had previously been our favorite, but Nordy's has definitely replaced them on our list!

    (5)
  • Josh F.

Superb BBQ! We went to Nordy's with our two kids, ordered the feast for 2 and left totally satisfied and very, very full. The food was great, service was good and the price was right. Conveniently located near the Holiday Inn Express and right off the interstate.

dont really fancy the bbq here. this place is like a famous daves, if you need a reference. something about the sauces displeased me although i cannot say what.

Best BBQ in Colorado!!! Hands-down! All you can eat lunch special is absolutely ridiculous!!!

  • Clark E.

When Nordy's first opened I was surprised to find it was not a chain. It has that feel about it, and I don't mean that in a bad way. The food is good. The meats are all good, and they offer the widest variety of sauces around, which can make for fun taste comparisons. Their beans are really good! Watch out for their lunch buffett, it's far too easy to eat too much at it. A nice bar to sit at and watch the game while eating BBQ is also a big plus.

  • Kris H.

I am a big fan of Nordy's. I have gone with my family, on business lunches and for Happy Hour. It consistantly delivers good food, good service and not for a lot of money. Absolutely the best sauce....EVER!! I do not like sweet sauce, and I think they made the Japeleno sauce just for me!! It goes on wings, ribs, sausage and even salad! I would recommend Nordy's to anyone! The only reason it did not get 5 stars is the wait. You must plan your visit during non-prime times. Otherwise, you will wait forever for a table...a good thing, I suppose!

  • Josh V.

    Delicious! Love the BBQ nachos!

  • Eric R.

The food was excellent with quite adequate portions at a good price. The service, however, is what will keep us coming back! We had a party of 10 including a few children (no easy task for a server) and our server Eric handled it with style and professionalism and made it look easy - Kudos! We'll definitely be back.

  • Tim C.

At most BBQ joints you find the ribs to be good, the brisket okay, the beans and slaw to be bad or some sort of combination like that. Nordy's is different, The ribs were perfect, the brisket was great and the sides were outstanding. The beans were amazing, and you have to try the "pasta slaw", on the menu it says "once you try it, you will never look at regular slaw the same". That is so true, I don't think I will ever be able to eat regular slaw ever. The staff was friendly and the food came fast. Oh and how could I forget the cornbread muffin, I will just say you might want to ask for another cause you will want one after trying the first.

I wish Yelp let you give half stars. Because this place would be a solid 3.5 if there were little starlets. I had dinner here last night, and I'll tell you right off the bat, I ate too much. Much too much. But that's my typical MO when it comes to barbecue. I had the two meat plate, and chose pulled pork (I can't pass up pig) and the smoked sausage. The pulled pork was smoky, but as I prefer very smoky meats, I would have liked a little more flavor. There was a bit of fat mixed in, and even though I'm the girl with a vat of saved bacon grease in the fridge, I'm not a fan of slimy fat interlopers in my meats. The smoked sausage was very good; I liked that the meat was very finely ground, so there weren't any of those gristly bits you find in so many sausages. My only wish for the sausage would be that the skin "popped"; it was still very taut and almost poppy. Almost. But if you dipped your bite of sausage in the jalapeno barbecue sauce, it was awfully good, lack of poppiness aside. For sides, I got the fried okra and sweet potato tots. They were both good, and weren't greasy, so I know they were fried correctly. But honestly, they tasted like something that was pulled out of the freezer and fried up for me. They were hot and good, but not "Mmmmm!" good. Just "mmmmm." Not even a capital M. The cornbread was sweet, so for you Southern cornbread purists, be warned. But since I had been such an oinker, I saved it for the end of my meal, and it was actually a good dessert. I loved the shiny, sweet, slightly sticky top. If Elaine from Seinfeld needed a new muffin top, this would be it. There were also good gritty bits of cornmeal to really give it a good texture. But they served it with butter-flavored spread. Really? If you're going to make a decent muffin, don't insult it with your fake butters! So give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. But you won't call your mom to tell her about it, either.

Homogenized Q-joint So I was craving BBQ, specifically brisket, something bad. I didn't feel like driving all the way to the northern edge of Loveland to our fav place and instead went half the distance to Nordy's. I mean afterall we kept hearing great things about the place from people. Getting in there was interesting, then w/ as full as the lot was we were already thinking of a back up plan. We were surprised that we were immediately seated. Keep in mind this itself seemed bizarre as a Texan Im used to Q joints being less formal walk up, place order, sit on picnic tables or benches 'n stuff. Hostesses, servers, and passing out menus is just wrong to me... Then we looked at the menu, holy hell this shit BETTER be good. W/ those prices we went w/ sandwiches. We both got the Texas 2-step. Sandwich w/ brisket and sausage w/ jalapenos on top. Food showed up super quick. I tasted all the elements separately and it was ok. The sausage was really good but the brisket, the thing I was craving, blah. It was moist and tender, had obviously been smoked by seeing the smoke ring but it had NO flavor or fat..Bummed The sweet tots I had were yummy but Matt said his potato salad was mediocre. The sauces- well Serious only has the one sauce on the table but it's a really good one. Nordy's you get a choice of 5 and combining the Texas one and the Colorado one tasted similar to my homemade sauce so that's what we did. Basically if you want ok food super fast go to Nordy's we will make the drive farther north next time. I'm sorry Serious Texas BBQ in Loveland CO I will never cheat on you again. (just wish you were a bit closer to me) -- feeling unsatisfied.

Wow! Several friends separately suggested this place for us out-of-state visitors and something called The Feast. Thinking that it's an appetizer sampler, three adults thought we can get that and something else to split. We asked the waitress whether the half plate is enough for three of us who weren't very hungry. She said it will be plenty. This included half slab - 6 - ribs, half a chicken, brisket, pulled pork, sausage, fries, pasta slaws, beans and cornbread muffins. Definitely returning the next time we're in town.

Really impressive BBQ place...especially amidst the chain restaurants that permeate the area. Nordy's is a locally owned & operated place & because of Yelp the family and I gave it a try. Glad we did! We are a family of 4 (w/teen & tween) so we spilt the family dinner for 2 (the menu says it feeds 2-3 adults) and it was MORE than enough food for all of us, and at $33 I was impressed. Yes, it is crowded, yes it is noisy, but it is just people clamoring for good food. I drive the I25 corridor a lot and the family has asked me to stop here for takeout.

Ok are you ready for it? Are you ready for some really good BBQ!?! Try these five little words on for size: ALL YOU CAN EAT BBQ! That is what you can get when you go to Nordy's for their lunch buffet. All you can eat BBQ for $9.95. And get this, the staff, they actually walk around with a smile on their face and serve you. This must be some sort of new scheme to actually get people to come back. I tell you, I think the owners of Nordy's have lost their minds. Good food at a good price and with good service, that can't be good for business. Nordy's staff keeps the buffet line filled and fresh. The cook slicing brisket, pulling pork and cutting sausage to order, didn't complain once on either of my trips (ok 4) when I said "Hook me up with all of them". The brisket was moist and had a nice pink smoke ring to it. It had a great Smokey flavor with a slight pull to it, just as it should. Pork? Did you just ask if they have Pork? Let me tell you, no self respecting BBQ joint would be caught dead without Pork! Or maybe I should say they would be dead without Pork. Nordy's has some of the best pulled pork west of the Mississippi. Except of course what comes out of my own smoker, but that's neither here nor there. Moist, chunky, flavorful, and not too salty. This pork is as perfect as you can get. At each table they have four different styles of BBQ sauces. I'm sure you'll find your new favorite sauce here. They have a Texas style tomato based sauce with black pepper and vinegar to give a slight fiery tang. They have a Kansas City BBQ sauce for those that like a sweeter sauce. They have a Carolina Mustard sauce that has a spicy vinegar and mustard bas. This is great with the Pork. And then they have their special sausage sauce. The Jalapeno BBQ. This is ketchup and mustard based sauce that gets a nice heat from a bunch of Jalapenos. Of course the buffet was filled with all the other stuff. You know, the non meat items. Like people eat those! But for all you freaks out there who don't want to gorge yourself strictly on meat, they have plenty of green salad fixings, pasta slaw, potato salad, Nordy's Apples, and Aunt Judy's Beans. Aunt Judy's Beans are awesome. Their flavorful and full of, What? How would I know since I only eat meat? Ok beans are a protein so I classify them as meat. Beside these have BACON in them!!! Bacon in beans! Yeah Baby!!! If you aren't interested in an all you can eat BBQ buffet, then frankly, you have much bigger issues than I can help you with here. You should just stop reading this and go have yourself committed! But as crazy as you are, the people at Nordy's are even crazier, because they thought of you too. They have a whole menu of things for you to order from. Like there ribs! Hey! Why aren't their ribs on the buffet? Whats up with that? They also have turkey, chicken. Both grilled and bbq'd, catfish, burgers, sandwiches, salads, Giant Potato's, and so much more. Oh yeah and a full bar! Woo Hoo! I will be back here again. Keep up the good work!

I get the opportunity to travel on business every once in awhile, and I have to admit that I usually don't look forward to it because it wears me out. But, if there's one thing that I truly enjoy about the experience, it has to be the delicious food I get to sample from all over the United States. You really don't want to know what brought me to Loveland, Colorado, but I sure am glad that I entrusted my fellow Yelpers to help find me a local eatery to enjoy. Once again, you all nailed it! I went in for the BCS title game on the evening of my arrival, and found myself a place at the bar without a problem. I read that lunch time is an all you can eat free for all, but that it lacks ribs, so I went straight for the Ribs and Meat combo, electing the pulled pork to go with the St. Louis style ribs. Aunt Judy's baked beans and Nordy's apples rounded out the plate. Here I must take a break to note something I thought was sweet: Nordy's (being a local eatery), also featured some local brews on tap, including an excellent Dunkel Lager called "Fearless Youth" (awesome name!!!) by Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (in Loveland). I love when you not only find a great restaurant, but a great local beer, too! So, back to the food. Both the pulled pork and spare ribs were wonderfully smoked, perfectly seasoned, and lightly sauced. Very lightly sauced, and that's a good thing, because I tend to like my bbq nearly dry. This allows you to try their own brand of sauces that come in the bottles on your table, and you can control how much you want to use. The ribs were so tender, and had just a tiny bit of "stick" to the bone. They were what you call "fall off the bone", but it's nice when they still have a little pull to them. The baked beans were some of my favorite, and had a really great sweet/savory taste to them. The apples were pretty good, but really on the sweet side. Service was pleasant and not overbearing. Definitely a recommend.

Arrived around 6PM on Friday night and the place was packed. Got us seated in about 30 min. Wait staff were very friendly and efficient. Lots of options and the portions were huge. The food was delicious. Was a bit pricey, but was worth it. If you have room after all the food try their desserts - large sizes so you better share. Would definitely go back.

Wow! We are from Texas and no strangers to good BBQ, and this place is some of the best Q we have had. Super tender brisket, good ribs, even the sides were really good. One of our party had a salad they said was really good, too. Cool bar area. We will be back next time in town.

Here's what I like about Nordy's: non-chain. That's right, they only have two locations - the one here in Loveland (just north of Centerra) and one in Ft. Collins. So it's a real treat to be able to support a local business. Here's the other thing I liked about Nordy's: staff who are actually walking around with a smile on their face. At Nordy's, you have the option of stuffing yourself silly at their buffet or ordering off the menu. Of course I opted for the stuff myself silly option - it was $9.95 at lunch time and I wanted to try it all. My favororites turned out to be the pork and sausage. Their pork was seriously good. But sadly, I wasn't que'd over by much of anything else. Think about it, buffet doesn't do any cuisine justice. Nordy's staff keeps the buffet line filled and fresh, and I especially appreciated the staff member slicing brisket, pork and sausage to order. He didn't hesitate when i asked for a little bit of everything. But the BBQ suffers from being held in a steam table. What also didn't work for me: a very funky-tasting cole slaw (with pasta) - the idea is stellar and I wish I would've thought of it first. But it tasted funky to me and I couldn't eat it. I also don't like potato salad with hard potatoes - if that's your pleasure, you'll be all over it here at Nordy's. If you are up north, craving cue, stop in and order some pulled pork. Slather on some of their different sauces (try the jalapeno one). This is a good place to bring a crowd.

Nordy's is the greatest BBQ on earth. I like the atmosphere, the people and the food. I really like the catfish it is fantastic. The only thing I did not like was the first visit the only way to taste the different sauces is with my fingers.

  • Sam R.

They have a great happy hour menu. $2.50 draft beers and $2 margaritas, you can't go wrong. The ribs and turkey have great flavors, I will be back the next time I'm in town.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. Seriously, I love it :) Great bbq, love the sauces, enough variety so that I could eat here every day of the week (although I will never admit to it, lol), & walking distance from a my home away from home :) The only complaint I have is it gets really crowded. It's all their fault for being so good ;)

Place reminds me of a Smokey Bones...somehow better though. Maybe because its in Colorado in the heart of 'beef country'? Staff was great- friendly- funny. Sauces were tangy but not overwhelming of the meat. I'd go back without reservation.

Vegetarians beware! This is not the place for you! But I'm definitely not a vegetarian, and this is totally the place for me. And my dad. He's a bit of a BBQ connoisseur, and he too was impressed with Nordy's. Or at least he said he'd be back which is high praise in his book. Although the parking lot was full, we were led right to a table at 7 on Saturday night. Awesome! I chose the brisket dinner with mac and cheese and baked beans as my sides. The brisket was fork tender, and after sampling all the sauces, I chose Kansas City to pour over my meat. Sometimes the sides at such places are a little subpar because the focus is on the meats, but my mac and cheese was AWESOME. Super creamy and full of black pepper. I'm not usually a big fan of baked beans but these sounded good and I am soooooo glad I got them. They were thick, sweet, and chock full of meaty goodness. Dad got the Two-Hander sandwich and saved half for later so he could experience it again. He also got the baked beans since they are his barometer for BBQ joints and pronounced them delicious. So. We'll be back. Yum.

So we arrived here at 7:30 on a Saturday night and the parking lot was packed. We seriously thought about just turning around. But we got our name on the list with a wait time of just 15 minutes. Seriously, this restaurant must hold 100-150 people at a time (which will also give you an indication about the quality of the food). Between us, my husband and I had wings, brisket, and ribs, all of which were fine, but not special. The sides were a little sub par. The beer was well priced. Our waitress was great. The prices were reasonable. Great for families, groups, people just passing through, but it wouldn't make my favorites.

Very good BBQ. I really like the sausage which is weird because I am really a Baby Back Rib guy. I just cannot get enough of the sausage. The bar is where this place sings. I saw a complaint here about parking when it is busy and they warned about the mud. You might have to worry about that 15 days a year in Colorado. Most of the parking is paved and the overflow (which gets used a lot) is gravel. Great place to go before Colorado Eagles hockey games next door. In fact, you will almost always find the eagles players (and their groupies) in the bar here after a game. For goodness sake, get the apples with your dinner. Now I am drooling.

This is still one of my favs in this area, It seems to be always packed around usual eating times but service is always fast and friendly. BBQ is always consistent, the Brisket and sausage are the best IMO and they have a ton of sides. I gave four stars because they are a bit pricey and out of the way. but that might be a good thing or I would eat there every day.

Very good BBQ. I have had better, but this is a good place to try if you are looking for BBQ. I had the Two-Meat Combo, Brisket and Pork, with Pasta Slaw and Mac N' Cheese. You must try the Pasta Slaw. If you are a fan of cole slaw, this is some of the best I have ever had! The consensus between the four of us eating was that the Kansas City BBQ sauce was the best of the BBQ sauces. Carolina Mustard is a must try. I probably would have bought a bottle! The Jalapeno BBQ was not BBQ sauce in my opinion. I was basically like eating a Jalapeno in sauce form. There was no other flavor or smoke along with it. The Texas Style sauce was bland at best. I was expecting this to be the best but sadly it had no kick or tang and tasted almost like ketchup. Maybe we had a bad bottle or maybe that was intentional, either way, don't wast the good meat on this sauce.

  • Colleen M.

Really good. Feast for 2 will feed 3-4. Ribs have really good flavor. Kansas City sauce is my favorite, but I really liked the meat plain. The chicken was fantastic, too (roasted) and the cornbread muffins...Mmm, though not "traditional".... The beef and pork were also really good - not dry at all with really good flavor. I'm not big on cole slaw, though the others in my party said it was great. All-in-all, not super-duper-fantastic, but really good and not a bad value for the money. (And yes, a tad fattening, but who goes to a BBQ joint to LOSE WEIGHT?!)

A 3-star review sounds worse than it is. I liked Nordy's. It was tasty, the service was pretty good, the atmosphere was as-expected, and it wasn't outrageously expensive. My wife and I split a "Feast for Two" and we had leftover to take home and savor later. (That says a lot about good portions because I RARELY have enough food left over to take home...especially BBQ) In fact I will go back. Probably numerous times. I didn't give it more stars simply because it wasn't amazing or THAT much different that most BBQ places. If you are in the mood for BBQ, Nordy's is a good stop on my list. Just not on my list of, "You HAVE to stop here no matter what" list.

As a huge fan of BBQ, I couldn't wait to try this place out. The owners opened this stylish BBQ establishment across I-25 from the Centerra Motorplex and just north of the Promenade Shops at Centerra for a great location for dining and shopping. The decor screams country western BBQ as you walk into this friendly atmosphere. With a nice sized menu, my choiceof getting the rib and meat combo was nailed down the minute I saw it. The rest of my family decided to go with similar items as well as getting their signature beef brisket. 4 tasty looking BBQ sauces sat at the table including Texas BBQ, Kansas City Sauce, Carolina Mustard, and Jalepeno Hot BBQ. My mouth was watering in anticipation as to the forshadowed lathering soon to commence. Now the reason it's not 5 stars. We sat for a good time, until the waitress finally came up and told us they were out of Beef Brisket for another 40 minutes. Unfortunately this slow-roasted brisket must have been popular and enough supply was not gathered. So a quick fix to pork brisket and everyone is back on track. Again, it would have been nice to have been informed a little sooner. So finally the food arrives, big meaty portions, hot, tasty cornbread, and amazing "Aunt Judy's Baked Beans." It was worth the wait as we dug in. With barely any talking, we devored our ribs and brisket like we'd never heard the word Vegetarian. My ribs were definitely moist and delicous and the Smoked Sausage just as tasty as I filled up quickly. Onion Rings, Homemade Mac-n-cheese, and a very interesting deep fried corn on the cob make up a few other side choices here. With satisfied looks, we washed our hands with our towelets and headed back into the cold. This BBQ find will surely be on our list for another day, hopefully sooner then later.

Nordy's catered our wedding reception. The food was excellent! We ordered the pulled pork and beef brisket with corn bread and mashed potatoes as the sides. So yummy! We have also been to Nordy's for the all you can eat lunch buffet. Great selection of food for a great price.

Being from Texas and living in Colorado it's hard to find good BBQ. This place has it down!! Haven't had anything that is good. My favorite is the Brisket, cornbread, and the Pulled Pork... Only bad thing I can say is it does get crowded sometimes but who can't deal with that for the price of great BBQ.

My first visit to Nordy's was two years ago in Fort Collins during a biannual work conference. I fell in love and couldn't wait to get back. My visit to the Loveland location did not disappoint. I had the 2 meat combo with brisket and wings. The wings were just as awesome as the first time. The hot BBQ sauce is amazing. It's a pity they don't sell it in bottles like some of the other sauces. I really wanted to take some home to Florida. The brisket was pretty good. They give you an option of lean, marbled (fatty), or a little of both. Go with marbled. The lean is a little too lean for my taste, but otherwise good. The side items were pretty good; I love the okra. I'll have to try some other sides next time. If I get to come to the next conference, Nordy's will be one of my stops. I'll have to buy a TSA-approved container for some of that hot BBQ sauce ;)

I had a bad experience here a few years ago and decided to try them again. I'm sorry, I'm just not impressed. What rubs me the wrong way is their constant self-proclamation at being the "best BBQ in Colorado". First of all, nobody would be impressed by that statement, even if it were true, but it is not true. It's just such an arrogant, bold-faced lie. This place doesn't even APPROACH the best BBQ in Colorado. How they can make such a claim is beyond me. It really dampens the experience of this place for me. If they just let their food stand for itself I think I would have liked it better, actually. But having them brag about how good their food is really reinforces how "meh" it is. I used to be a diehard of Bubba's in Greeley, and if that's the place these guys used to own, it's a far cry from that. The meat here comes sauced, which absolutely baffles me. I asked for it dry, which reveals why they serve it sauced- mediocre at best. The sides WERE good- I loved the pasta slaw and the style of mac & cheese they serve, but you don't get to say you have the best BBQ because you have good sides. The clincher is the price tag. Sooooooo painfully overpriced. Like unacceptably so. People love this place because there isn't a lot of BBQ around here and because they picked a genius location. If you put this place anywhere else, it would sink faster than the Titanic. If they knocked the price tag down a few bucks, and if they checked their ginormous ego, I could find some love for this place.

I'm not sure what most of these people are talking about but it's average at best. I had the buffet, most of the meets were very dry, garden salad pretty bare, the desert, Apple cobbler again pretty bland. My wife had a buffalo chicken sandwich with corn fritters. Average at best. My oldest daughter had the turkey sandwich, best of the meals, mac and cheese was ok. My youngest daughter had the pulled chicken sandwich, like on the buffet, very dry even though its smothered in sauce. I have also never had so many peoples but in my face while eating, this due to the way seating is set up! Worst part is 4 hours later we have really bad bloating and gas!

I would give this place a 4.5 star rating if I could. Being from Kansas City, I know BBQ. So the good first. I had Ribs and Sausage, Beans and Onion rings. Ribs were cooked to perfection. Not fall off the bone and not undercooked. Beans were different and pleasantly good. They have 5 different sauces including a Carolina mustard which is what I enjoyed the most. Now the bad. Pass on the Sausage. Mine was a little chard. Reminded me of a store bought product. Was hoping for something fresh or homemade. Their Kansas City sauce was also disappointing, it tasted like KC Masterpiece poured into their bottle. Not a big fan. Try the Bloody Mary and ask for the beef jerky straw. All and all if you want Great BBQ this is the place to be.

Enjoyed a nice early dinner here. We weren't starving so we decided to split a combo and it ended up being more than enough food. The service was friendly and fast, and our server did a good job presenting the six BBQ sauces. I started off with a Backyard Punch to drink, which was good by wayyyyy to sweet. My fiancé ordered a BBQ Bloody. The BBQ rub on the rim and the Slim Jim straw was a unique touch. We shared the two-meat combo with brisket and pulled pork. Both were tasty. The brisket was a bit dry, but that was easily fixed with sauce. There were 6 kinds of sauce which were all decent, but couldn't find one favorite. The menu said it was supposed to come with a corn muffin but it never arrived. We also didn't say anything because we were so full. For sides we got baked beans and sweet potato tots which were the standout menu item for me! Yum! I could have eaten those all day. I wish we'd saved room for dessert because the chili pecan brownie sundae sounded delicious! Next time for sure!

You know what you get for 3 stars - average. That's about all you'll find here - average beers, average meats, average BBQ. They'll start off with an interesting tour of all their house sauce selections by spreading them on a plate and appropriately spelling out the initial from which state it's from. The only downside, all the sauces were, well, you guessed it - just average. Nordy, the sweet toys weren't bad. Adios!

After moving nearby Nordy's has become a family staple that we all throughly enjoy. I am by no means an expert on BBQ, but at least from my limited perspective this place is delicious. Pretty much everything I've gotten I've enjoyed, with the possible exception of the turkey as it's definitely the weakest item I've gotten on the menu. The staff is always friendly, and overall out of the countless times we've been here its always been a pleasurable experience.

This is not BBQ. It's meat on a plate with 6 different sauces at your table. I got the "3 Little pigs" sandwich which was 3 pieces of sausage, a piece of brisket, cheddar cheese and bacon on a toasted hamburger bun. It was too much meat for my taste and the cheese was flavorless, you know the kind... greasy and just gross... Anyway I put some sauce on the burger to give it some flavor and I had to keep adding it until o eventually just poured some on my plate and began dipping the burger into the sauce. I also got the corn nuggets which were over-fried and the fried pickles which was a vlassic pickle instead of the typical ones. My hubs got he same thing but with Mac and cheese which could have been good but they add some odd seasoning which ruins the whole Mac and cheese flavor. On a positive note our waitress, Shannon, was great. She kept our drink glasses full and moved quickly to bring us our plates. In all, it cost $45 for two burgers, two drinks, two sides and an appetizer. I did check their Buffett before ordering and the lady said it was "last call" at 2:00pm. We got there at 1:30pm and what was left wasn't worth $11.49.

Far from the best - NICE large 1-25 location in a high rent district. Service just average. $$$ Pricy for BBQ. $19.00 for half rack of ribs with 2 sides. Ribs were meaty, almost tender, but lacking smoke flavor. 6 home made sauces to choose.... ok. Small sides - Slaw was dry and good, Corn fritters so so and waffle fries ok butt which are not my favorite with BBQ. A downer for me is Pepsi Products. Wife had the 4 slider app for her meal, brisket and turkey at half price bar special. With a couple of sides $2.29 each this would have been a better buy. As we left the house NOT ONE staff PERSON said Thank You, Good Bye, Safe Travels, Enjoy your day etc. YOUR near a highway folks and you get visitors! We must have passed over 6 employees as we went to the door.

I'm from California and have to say this place was great. Clean inside, great staff , fast service, and food was yummy. We got the platter for 2. It was huge. Sausage, corn bread, fries, Mac n cheese, ribs, pork, brisket, and chicken. Oh my! Mac n cheese was the only thing I was not a fan of. It was kinda mushy. Deff will go back

Yummo! I was at a conference at the nearby Embassy Suites and a small group of us decided BBQ sounded tastier than the sandwich catering was providing. That buffet was calling our names... For $11.95 you get all you can eat. Salad, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, green beans, mashed potatoes, fried okra, apple cobbler, brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and cornbread muffins. I didn't try all of those, but I sampled a bit of most. Everything I tried was decent, except the potato salad which was meh. The sausage and cornbread muffins were fantastic! I somehow resisted asking for more muffins, but I really wanted more. The brisket, pork, mashed potatoes, and green beans were also very good. The only thing missing was mac-n-cheese; it was on the menu but not part of the buffet. Now that I know this place is here, I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area. And, then I may need to order from the menu to try the mac-n-cheese.

So I took my girlfriend her on Friday for dinner and the food was amazing the ribs were cut perfectly the chicken tenders were amazing. The bbq sauce was beyond amazing and exceeded every expectation I had for the place it being my first time. :) we also got their spicy wings and bbq wings as well and honestly they were cooked perfectly and amazing taste and the sauce they had was delightful. The only thing that I really didn't like was their baked potato there was way to much sour cream not enough cheese and they needed to put butter and mix it with their baked potato so it was kinda dry but other than that was amazing and I will be going back. :)

Food was good, but when it comes to leaving personal items there the staff cannot be trusted. Accidentally left a stainless steel reusable water bottle there (nice one) overnight, literally call back the next morning they "supposedly" can't find it. I call bullshit, one of their staff probably stole it or threw it out. Horrible customer service I have to say.

This place is awesome. The food is fresh, tasty and not over-seasoned like a lot of BBQ joints. We were a group of 20+ and the staff got us all served in super quick time. I didn't hear a single complaint from any of our group! Just lots of eating and "ooohs and ahhhs". I agree with a previous reviewer... it's a good thing this place isn't closer to my house!

GREAT FOOD, served hot as it SHOULD be. Tons of places FAIL at this, serving their food HOT. But where others failed Nordy's delivered and I'm happy sitting here with bbq sauce smothered across my mouth... because it was WELL worth it. When you walk out of a place and you don't feel regret about how much money you spent that when you know you've made a good choice. This is an amazing establishment and the service/management is on point.

We'd heard Nordy's was great and worth the 70 mile trip from our town to try it. However, it was nothing to write home about and luckily the outlet mall was close so the trip wasn't a total bust. To start out, our server never told us about the buffet. Like where it was (hidden behind a wall) and how much it cost. I guess they assume everyone knows about it. Then as I was eating the paper in the bottom of the basket was ripping apart from the grease off the meat. So I kept trying to keep my food off the basket which may or may not have been clean, pretty gross. Anyway, after sharing our meals we agreed that the only two highlights were the "moist" brisket and "Aunt Judy's Beans". We didn't finish our food because the cornbread muffins were so dry, the potato salad was very plain (plus I found a hair in it) and I can make better mac n' cheese out of box at home for a fraction of the price, thanks to Kraft. I did try every sauce a couple times and they're not bad but average wasn't what I drove all those miles to try. When I left they gave me a to-go cup of sweet tea, so at least the ending wasn't bad. Overall it was like watching a bad movie, you see a couple highlights that you already saw in the commercial then it ends on a good note so you feel a little better about the time and money you lost.

Thank goodness this place isn't closer to my house. Stopped in between volleyball matches just up the road and OMG!!! The pork, hot links and brisket were all crazy good. Tender, moist and delicious. My daughter had the ribs and wouldn't let me try them, so I can only take her word that they were good, but considering she already wants to go back, I have to believe her. Needless to say, we'll be back for sure.

Greatest place I never want to go to again because it was so good, and I literally ate a small child at their buffet.

I've been trying most brisket places in Colorado for years and came across this place by coincidence and didn't go to any other place since then. I can say with confidence that this is the best place to eat brisket in the whole state. Great food and excellent friendly state and service. Thank you guys!

Pretty solid place with quick service and tasty BBQ. Have been here a couple of times now and have always enjoyed myself. Ribs were decent, but not my favorite thing there. Try their brisket - it's fantastic!!

Service was great. Food was good. Portion was insane. Boyfriend and I ordered the Feast for Two and we should have gotten the Feast for One. We had so much left over it fed his brother and father and we still had more for another plate. The restaurant was clean from what I observed. Over all i had a pretty decent experience.

Nordy's staff was a definite plus, they were quite friendly and helpful. The sausage and chicken were my favorites, along with the coleslaw with little pasta noodles. Overall, good experience, but not the most flavorful brisket.

I came for the Barbecue lunch buffet. You know... to see what the hype was all about. $11.49 all you can eat. I tried the brisket and pulled pork and it was exactly what I expected. No flavor at all and extremely dry. You'll have to utilize the sauces at your table to bring the meat to an edible consistency. You shouldn't have to do that to great Barbecue. The meat should speak for itself. The sides have the quality I would expect from visiting my Nana at the old folks home cafeteria. Yellow, chicken gravy over cold mashed potatoes. Yum! Service felt rushed. Our waiter kept asking us if our credit card was in the bill folder. Guess he couldn't wait for us to vacate our table so he can clean it and get it ready for the next $ucker. It seems like most Coloradoans who think they know "Q" really don't know much about "Q". If you think this is awesome food, I invite you to travel this great country of ours and experience Barbecue. Go to Tennessee, Georgia, Missouri or the Carolina's (sorry Texas) and you'll soon understand what I mean by truly great tasting Barbecue!

We were in Loveland for a flyball tournament and it was our first time to be in the area. As we were at the tournament, we found out a large group of other team members had reservations at Nordy's BBQ for dinner. The restaurant was next to the Budweiser Event Center so it was very convenient for us just finish up and go there. Apparently this is a tradition after flyball to go to Nordy's. The restaurant was packed and we were glad that they made reservations two weeks prior; nevertheless, it was a good sign that the restaurant was completely full. We didn't know what to choose, so we got the ribs, catfish, brisket, and beer on draft. So as we sat there for our dinner, the pit smoke smelled so yummy, we were excited about our order. It was pretty darn good and one of the best BBQs we have had in a long time. We were pleased with the food and beer and were glad that we joined them for dinner. Now when we go to the flyball tournaments in Loveland, that will definitely be a must to join the other teams for this tradition and now we know why. We wished they could sell their Colorado Wildfire BBQ sauce because it was the best of all their BBQ sauces.

Very poor service! Told twenty minutes and at 30 told they were cleaning the table. 10 minutes later still not seated. Food is good but teenagers working up front do a very poor job. Not worth the wait!

I've been here twice now and both times, the food has been great. The brisket, pulled pork, baked beans - all great. Cornbread and pasta slaw - amazing. I literally crave the pasta slaw everyday and wish I had the recipe. I will eat here every time I'm back in the area!

Food is pretty good most of the time but I just want to say one thing! I realize this is a very busy restaurant, my family & I are willing to wait half an hour for a table, BUT...After waiting for a table and sitting down, waiting 25 minutes for a greet and 30 minutes for some sodas to be brought to the table is ridiculous! We were so close to getting up and walking out, but didn't want to be rude. It would have been nice if a host or server or MANAGER would have stopped by but nobody took notice.

I thought it was good. I had the ribs and brisket combo with Mac n cheese and fried okra. The okra was great. The ribs were pretty good. Tender and juicy. But would have preferred then with a different sauce or even dry rub. They automatically sauced the brisket also but I believe it was made well enough to stand on its own. The Mac n cheese was mediocre. It tested like it was loaded with garlic. I'm not crazy about that. The sweet tea was awesome. Not to sweet not to bitter. It nice finding sweet tea around here. My son had the pulled pork with Carolina sauce. He wasn't impressed. I tasted some. The pork was good. But coming from South Carolina I can tell is actually a blend of South Carolina and North Carolina styles. And we aren't fond of the North Carolina style. It is mostly vinegar. This was better than that. We also had dessert. He ate the brownie Chile a la mode and I ate the chocolate peanut butter cheese cake. I love my cheese cake. He didn't like his brownie or ice cream. He is very picky though. He asked and the server held the Chile but it wasn't plain vanilla it had a hint of lemon and the brownie had nuts which he also doesn't like. It looked really good to me but I was too full to eat any. Our server was great. She was very friendly and helpful. We probably will be back but my request the food a little different.

Best BBQ I've ever eaten, hands down! The mac-n-cheese and the beans are excellent! The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tasty! If you want delicious BBQ, this is the ONLY place to go!!

Stopped in at Nordy's with my boyfriend as it is one of his favorite spots back home. It was very good comfort food. We opted for the buffet which had great sides and great brisket and in my opinion decent sausage. The mashed potatoes and gravy were smooth, the fried okra perfection and the beans the best I've ever had. Hearty and delicious. The cornbread was decadent too, sweet and buttery. The cost was very reasonable and I would love to try other fare soon.

Family Dinner on a family vacation. Couldn't wait to finally eat at Nordy's. We had 7 at the table, Service was excellent to start, but once dinner was served, we never saw our server again. The food was maybe a 6. My ribs were good, but not great. The pork was already sold out...REALLY? 7pm and no pork left in the joint? Oh well, goes to show your management was slacking that day. I'd go back, but it did not live up to all the hype I'm sorry to say. I had hoped for better.

We came in last night because we were in the area and miss having Nordy's in Fort Collins. It was fairly busy so we were surprised when they sat us right away. After that, nothing. We sat for twenty minutes watching assorted staff walk by us. A table just across the aisle had ordered and gotten their food and we hadn't even been noticed by waitstaff. We walked out and told the hostess why we were leaving. Her response was "I'm sorry for that". I really do like the food at Nordy's, but it's not worth the drive to be ignored.

You can count on Nordy's for tasty ribs & their fabulous buffalo wings. Love their Texas BBQ sauce, not too sweet & not too tangy. Don't forget to request a member card so you can earn points for some freebies.

Having been raised by a family that traces its roots back to Kansas City, I would say that I have eaten a lot of tasty BBQ in my lifetime. Certainly I was hoping to find some out here in Colorado, and after consulting some friends who have lived here longer than I have, many have pointed to Nordy's. I went here for lunch and decided to try the much vaunted $11 all you can eat buffet special. The service was friendly and I left full, but the food itself was unimpressive. Having tried the brisket, pulled pork, and sausage, I would say that the brisket was the best meat of the bunch, but it was nothing special. Though moist, the meat was a little underseasoned and the smoke flavor was too subtle for my taste, making it taste a little bland without any sauce. The sauces themselves were also not particularly memorable but at least they offered a wide variety to choose from. Overall I was a little disappointed, but thankfully there are other options in the area for good BBQ.

Nordy's is one of my regular stops, when I am in Norco. Nice people, great service and in my opinion, excellent barbecue. Love the links, ribs and brisket and their happy hour is an excellent value. I usually go with a nice cold draft and some ribs on the side. The lunch buffet is a great value also, but I usually don't have time for a nap in the afternoon, so I don't partake.

This place is great! If you are in the area, this is the place for BBQ. The staff is friendly also. They also have a full bar in the back. Ps Its the kind of place that the staff have shirts that say "I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables"

Driving through and ordered take out from the place. I wasn't expecting much because I used to live in Texas...but this place was AMAZING!!!! Stacia (sp?) was the employee that took my order and she was nothing but friendly with the best customer service I've seen in a years. If I'm ever in town again, I will definitely be eating here again!!!

Let me just say this, I hate BBQ food, I hate the smell the burnt grill taste and all the smoke. But this place is AMAZING. Literally some of the best, most mouthwatering, melt in your mouth meat. Everything is home-cooked & full of flavor, and you can't go wrong with any of their sides. Just thinking about this place is making me hungry again. Definitely get the beef, brisket, ribs, mac&cheese and sweet potato tots...(yes, I ate all of that in one sitting - DONT judge me).

Not much to dislike about this place. Good food, fair prices, good service, clean, friendly. Beer prices are always a little high compared to other places around, but not horrible. If I remember they have a good happy hour. If recommend a platter if you're not sure what you want. The platter will serve one more than it says unless you're a heavy hitter.

I was in Loveland on business and saw the favorable reviews for this place, so a friend and I decided to try it. We went for dinner on a weekday evening, and were seated immediately in the bar. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful, and will make recommendations if asked. My friend and I shared the Frito pie appetizer, which was really good. It's a base of Fritos smothered with cheese sauce, onions, jalapenos, and seasoned ground beef (normally comes with tomatoes, but I hate tomatoes and asked for them to be left out). I could have eaten more, it was so good. They give you an assortment of BBQ sauces at the table (5, I think, maybe 6), and the wait staff tell you about each one as they put sample of it on a plate. Conveniently, they put the sample as a letter that corresponds to each one so you know which one(s) you like. Clever, and very helpful. My friend got a salad because she was feeling guilty for not eating much green that week, and we agreed that I'd get a rib and brisket platter and she'd help me eat it. She said the salad was good. Nothing fancy, but that's OK. The ribs were incredible. Very tender, fell off the bone and very tasty. I love, love, love the pasta slaw. I'm very picky about coleslaw, and have a hard time finding one I like. The pasta slaw, which is basically coleslaw with small bits of pasta in it, had an excellent flavor and wasn't at all bland like most cole slaws. The cornbread was moist and tasty, I could definitely have eaten more of that. My friend said the croutons in the salad were made from the cornbread and were very good. I ordered sweet potato tots as my other side (you get two, and the pasta slaw was the other one), and they were very good. The brisket was tender and nicely cut. I got the lean brisket because I don't like fatty meat, but they give you the option. Because it's somewhat thinly sliced, it tends to cool off fast, but it tastes very good. I'd definitely go back - would love to try the buffet - when I'm in the area again, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
