I thought I'd give Vic's another shot, but today's latte was gritty with grounds and bubbly (like the "pretty bad foam" picture). I hope Good Measure finishes their renovations soon. Maybe it's better to save Vic's for a black coffee or pastry kind of day - they have lots of tempting sweets in the case.

UPDATE: Today I walked in just purely randomly, and it was "Customer Appreciation Day at Vic's" ! FREE COFFEE !! And what's more? They were playing flamenco! Is it true? Is there a Santa Claus? Have I died and gone to heaven? Oh I better just drink my coffee! 5 Stars!

Excellent espresso. Expertly prepared Cortado. Really good coffee. Not what I expected from a small coffee shop in the quaint Louisville downtown, but really want to go back now.

Wouldn't bother going here. Coffee is fine, but service is lacking severely. I basically stood in line while "regulars" came in and the barista's served 3 of them before even acknowledging me. I'm all for taking care of regulars but not at the expense of other customers.

This is the worst Vic's out of them all, and it is the service that brings it down. I could say some inappropriate things about the staff possibly being off of the short bus, but that could piss some people off. So let's say it this way: if you are generous with your patience, then by all means, give it a go. You'll need to repeat your order 3-4 times, and double check it to make sure it is right. I only stop here when I'm desperate, otherwise, I'll drive down the road to Que's, where they knock it out of the park every time!

One of the places to be downtown in the morning. The coffee is dark roasted, whereas the other two downtown coffee shops have lighter roasts. The service is typically friendly, and yes Jenny knows everyone, which is a key to success for this type of business. Feels like an extension of your home.

I'm posting this for a friend who was impressed with Vic's Again. Below is his post: Jenny (owner), along with staff, is amazing! My plans to meet a friend for coffee got interrupted by a deep cut to my finger that had been bleeding for my 30min commute to this wonderful spot, where we were to meet. Jenny was about to take my order when she noticed my bleeding finger. She immediately grabbed first aid materials that helped me a ton; and so much more. She offered me the address and directions to UrgentCare, and took down my info so she could tell my friend upon his arrival about my delay/interruption. 2 hrs later, she even left me a voicemail to say my friend never arrived, assuming i must've reached him, and hoped my finger was treated well. This woman is selfless, kind, generous, and caring. If you love having a woman like that around- and you should, then please patronize her shop, because I can't contain keep quiet about the wonderfulness of the people at Vic's in downrown Louisville!

Like the quality of the drinks & the friendly staff. However, seating is a bit limited and if you go when it's busy service is slow.

My favorite coffee place in the world. I have probably been here 10,000 times and there has been one time that I got a bad drink which was taken care of right away. The drinks are always amazing, the coffee, the steamers, the Italian sodas, everything. But don't forget to try the food too! My favorite was always the chocolate croissants, best one I have ever had was at Vic's. The atmosphere is pretty cool, feels calm and perfect for a coffee shop. The service here is the best around, I always feel welcomed by all the employees when I come in, especially Jenny. I don't think I have ever seen a person smile so much! The prices are great and it's definitely a great place to go anytime.

Great coffee and great friendly service. Hub of activity in Louisville...Jenny always knows what's going on in town. Important item during events such as Taste of Louisville: clean, accessible restrooms located here... The barista's here take pride in an artfully executed espresso drink.

Here every morning. Love the staff. Love the company. Love the bagels with salmon & cream cheese. Coffee is pretty good, too. This place could teach Starbucks a thing or two about a friendly, efficient staff that's focused on their customers rather on each other's personal issues. Yee ha! (Right, Jenny?)

Very friendly staff. I give them five stars just because of the service! I actually don't "love" their coffee, but it is good. I can walk in when the line is almost out the door and still be out of there in no time. Jenny is like a blur making espresso and steamed milk. I have also been there when everything else is closed due to snow, and there is Jenny working away. If I'm not in the mood for coffee, they make a fantastic cambric.

Good coffee, great service. Weekday mornings this is the center of the downtown Louisville universe. Jenny and her crew run a friendly, efficient joint. Drip coffee is nice and strong. Espresso drinks are good, but for those few who like their espresso straight up maybe look somewhere else...okay....there is nowhere else.

I always forget that Vic's is just down the road from my son's school and hit up the Bucks in King Soopers for coffee-on-the-run. Not so much a creature of habit (not a big fan of the Bucks- coffee is less-than-meh) just on auto-pilot some mornings. For some reason, I was on my game yesterday morning and drove down Main St. to get my joe from Vic's. I decided right then and there to quit my job so I could hang at Vic's with the locals- they were having so much fun! I love places like this- better than average coffee, a warm neighborhood vibe, friendly staff... It made me forget I was in the heart of Suburban Hell. Instead, I was in the heart of oldtown Louisville, which is actually quite charming. And, the best part- when I asked for heavy whipping cream (the ONLY way to drink joe!) the spark-plug-of-a-barista happily went to the back to bring it out and then proceeded to extole the virtues of heavy cream in coffee- my kinda gal!

Secret: ask for a "Jenny special." It's the best latte ever!
