When i found out that today was national donut day and they were giving out free donuts at the local donut shop I had to stop in before work and try one out. The line was out the door but it went very quickly as it seemed like they had 10 or more employees scurrying around like ants on an anthill. The donut was fresh, soft, and delicious. An unexpected yummy treat for an early morning commute to work.

I would love to tell you how their donuts are, but every time I go there they are out. Like not out of one kind of donut. All of them. Their shelves are empty. This is a donut store. I just left there an hour and a half until closing time and nothing on the shelves. First time I went in here it was the same thing. Is there a better time to go? What gives?

This place is so cute! The staff is very friendly, and the doughnuts are fantastic! The only thing that would bring this review to to five stars is better coffee. (It's not awful, but it should match the quality of the doughnuts) I'll be back for more apple spice and blueberry doughnuts for sure!

As my biorhythms have been changing my normally staple breakfast has not been enough. So I stopped by for a snack. Now I think .99 cents is just a little steep for donuts but what the heck. I was not disappointed! I love Old Fashioned style donuts and Lamar's were moist and had just the right amount of body. Also got an apple fritter and it was moister than anything I've ever gotten from the grocery store. And Dazbog Coffee. +1 A breakfast or brunch or guilty pleasure with coffee for $5? Take my 5 stars! Great place, clean, and wasn't busy, at least at 2pm on Saturday. Only thing is they didn't have a giant selection. I'm a fan of many, many options.

Great donuts. Great value (always have coupons). Great people. Awesome selection. This is a great, old school donut shop, even if it is a chain. They are always fast & friendly & I will never stray again!

Before trying this place out it'd been years since I'd had a donut. For shame, right? I think the last one I had was some sort of Krispy Kreme donut, but the cleanliness of the store (the one located near the Park Meadow's mall) left something to be desired, so I just hadn't had one in a bit. The first time I went here I got a lemon bizmark, a regular glazed, and something else I can't remember. Yumminess in my mouth! I'm a huge fan of lemon, and the bizmark was delicious. The second time I had some it was close to closing time, so my husband brought back what they had left. I think I had a vanilla glaze or something. It was definitely more dense than the regular donuts, but it was delicious. I've since had these donuts again and they were, again, wonderful. We've had to make a deal with ourselves to only visit this place once every two weeks, if that, because most donuts are usually more than 500 calories a pop and soooo unhealthy. Still, too delicious to stay away from. :D

I went 3 hours before closing so not surprising they were out of glazed. I opted for glazed donut holes. At $0.25 a piece with a dozen discount price of $2.99 (anyone else notice a problem with that math) they were hardly worth it. Not as glazed as I like with a few that were moist, the rest were dry. Cinnamon twist was a little better which gives me hope their fresh glazed could be better.

I like Dunkin' Donuts, but since none exist in the Denver/Boulder area, these are the best doughnuts around. I also get coupons in the mail every month for Lamar's.

Get there in the morning and the donuts are still warm. Apple, blueberry and cherry fitters. Yum! The owner is a stickler for clean and it shows. Very friendly and accommodating staff. No longer miss Dunkin Donuts or Tim Horton's.

Came back a few more times. Overall, not a huge fan of their regular $0.99 yeast and cake donuts. They kind of all tasted the same to me. Was interested in their whole grain donut. It was disappointingly dry and flavorless. Like their specialty $1.79 donuts though. The bavarian cream bars (aka Long Johns) are huge and the filling is generous and creamy. The chocolate icing is not overwhelming. Wish they had a better method/machine for filling the bars as there were some areas missing filling. I like cream in every bite. The jelly filled yeast donuts were a bit inconsistent. Some were generously filled with jelly, others were not. Some had the jelly all lumped to one side while others were more evenly dispersed. The blueberry fritter had no trace of blueberry flavor. It just tasted like fried cinnamon dough.

We just relocated to Boulder from CA. In CA there is a donut shop on every corner. I am use to these dirty nasty places (anyone from the Bay area knows what I am talking about). We stumbled onto Lamar's and I have to say, I was surprised. First the place is very clean, the donut selection was great, and even the coffee was great. We will definitely be back.
