I have a story to tell about this place, but it's in multiple movements: Movement 1: Hostess -- 4 of us came in at about 7pm. All the tables were taken and we were told that it would be a considerable wait, so we opted to sit at the bar. No problem. The hostess was irritable about the whole process of working with us on our options, so we just took the easiest route to getting away from her. No sweat for us, we just wanted to hang out, drink, and eat anyway. Movement 2: Bar Service -- When we sat down, the young woman behind the bar very nicely asked if we wanted drinks, and got our first round. No problem. This is where the interesting behavior started, however. Multiple times, we attempted to flag her down/catch her attention (like, to order a second round), and she was completely oblivious. When we DID get her attention, one of us would order something, then she would whirl around and disappear down the bar before the rest of us could order something for ourselves. Multiple times she would forget something we had ordered. If we ordered 3 things, we would only get 2 back. Movement 3: Limes -- For our second round of mexican beers, it took about 10-15 minutes for the beers to get poured. When they were finally delivered, we didn't get limes with them as we had for the first round. So we asked for limes. They nodded and said ok...then forgot. We asked for limes a second time. They nodded and said ok...then forgot again. They finally brought the limes on the 3rd time asking, about 20-30 minutes after we had ordered the beers in the first place (note my above comment on the challenge of getting their attention.) Movement 4: Food -- We quickly ordered chips and salsa with some guacamole. For our second round of drinks, we ordered food off the dinner menu. This is, again, where things got difficult. Luckily for us, we weren't in a hurry and were having fun without the distraction of the service, but before long we noticed that it had been a good 30-40 minutes since we had ordered, and no food had appeared. We asked the bartender where our food was. Blank stare. "You guys ordered food?" she asked. "Be right back." As I watched, she went down to her computer, checked, then went to her notepad and looked for our order. Nothing. She came back and took our orders again--40 minutes after we had first ordered. When the food finally arrived, the soup one of our people had ordered had been forgotten. Movement 5: Food quality -- The guac was outstanding (if a bit overpriced at $9). I ordered the Echifrioladas Con Carne Asada. The bartender asked me what temperature I wanted the steak at... I said "medium". It came well done. I found a long black hair in the rice, but at this point we've lost all faith in the service to do anything quick about it (and i'm not squeamish) so I eat anyway. After dinner, we ordered Flan, which was a really unfortunate afterthought style of preparation. The combination of flan with caramel and strawberry sauces created a chemical aftertaste that stuck around for a while after eating. Movement 6: Finale -- After everything we experienced, we considered complaining to the manager, but the general attitude of the staff didn't lead us to believe it would get us anywhere. When given our check, we were charged full price (even after they had forgotten multiple rounds of drinks and food orders). Full price turned out to be quite expensive for the experience--about $30 per person. At the end of the night, they shifted into a karaoke bar scene, which really wasn't our speed, so we booked it out. The only reason this isn't 1 star is because of the Guac.

This place is officially our fave Mexican place in Colorado. Being from Houston,TX, we are SUPER picky when it comes to Mexican food and FINALLY we found a Mexican restaurant that not only has bold, spicy flavors but AMAZING service as well. We started out with queso and added shredded beef to it- man was that meat soft and flavorful! We all had tacos, beef fajitas, and beef quesadillas and they were all so great. The beef fajitas had so much flavor and spiciness that it took me a minute to remember that I was in Colorado. The bartender and owner were so personable and attentive. It was one of the best experiences we have had eating out in a long, long while. We can't wait to go back... And were from DENVER! From drinks to food to service, we could not have asked for anything more. I am so glad we decided to stay at the bar and not move to a table. That's right- there was a wait (probably because of how amazing this place is). When our family comes to visit from Texas we will def make the trip to this epic Mexican restaurant. They know what they are doing. Thanks again to them for a great experience. I can't wait to eat our leftovers!!!

First off I'd like to say this is by far the best "traditional" Mexican food I have had north of the border. I know there are a lot of wannabes out there but this is the real deal. Don't be hesitate to try this place! I had there dinner special (Pork Fajitas) and it was excellent. The pork was very moist and had lots of flavors in every bite. Also the big thing for me was that everything wasn't just a giant greaseball that you sometimes get at other restaurants. I'm personally not that big of a fan of really spicy foods but this was just enough to say "hey this might hurt a little later" but not overbearing in the slightest.

Good authentic Mexican food. My favorite thing by far is the fresh, table-made guacamole. So fresh and yummy. Great margaritas as well.

I love you Antonio. I love you Antonio crab cakes. I love you Antonio fish tacos. I love you Antonio chorizo queso. I love you Antonio fajitas I love you Antonio pico de gallo. I love you Antonio Bucket o Beers. I love you Antonio Happy Hour. Is that enough? No? Fine... I love you for being the bright spot in the Longmont food scene. I unabashedly recommend this wonderful eatery. The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is wonderful... the remember you by first name kind of wonderful. They have great happy hour specials like $5 crab cakes (for two big uns!) and $20 pitchers of Sangria. Their pico de gallo is heaven! The decor is beautiful and it's such a cozy welcoming place with a modern vibe. It's my go to place in Longmont, hands down.

Simple but tasty menu. Guac overpriced but made fresh. Great salsa and other sauces. Cozy atmosphere.

I had the black bean childada. It was amazing. Lunch is fantastic. The table side guacamole is also a treat.

Great service, but ... rice was near cold and beans not much better. Place not busy at all. Over-priced, overall. Asked if we wanted guacamole. Hadn't seen it on the menu, but sure, why not? Oh, found out later that was $9. Good, but... . Also, happened to be there during happy hr. Get a buck off beers. But, receipt had that amount wrong. No, I didn't correct them. Third time there. Varied times and selections Same. Won't be going back. Too bad.

So great to find another good restaurant in downtown Longmont ! I have eaten here three times now and enjoyed every time. My favorite is the fish tacos. The atmosphere is much nicer than I expected from just seeing the outside.

The current popularity of this place is more of an indication of the lack of good Mexican food in town, rather than the quality of the fare at Antonio's. The service is grim. We arrived at 6 on Saturday night and were told there would be a 30 minute wait. Fair enough. A party just left the minuscule and cramped bar, so we sat there, hoping to get a drink before we were seated. 30 minutes later, the bartender asked if we wanted to see a drink menu AND our table was ready. So we left one person to order 4 house Margs, and went to the table. 30 minutes after THAT, our Margs arrived. They were not worth the wait. It took almost 30 more minutes to place an order for dinner. All in, our visit required 2 1/2 hours. The chips came out of a bag. Antonio's also features one of my pet peeves, a guacamole cart. Really? It is quite obvious if the guacamole is freshly prepared, or if it came from a tube. You'd be far better off re-purposing that employee to be wait staff, because you need at least two more. And a bartender. And a bus boy. The food is way over priced. $21 for Carne Asada. I had the exact same meal in Santa Barbara Tuesday night. It tasted better, arrived at my table 10 minutes after I ordered it, and it cost $13.99. In California. I don't mind waiting, for good food and a good experience. I don't mind paying for good food and a good experience. Antonio's is over-priced, understaffed, and acts like they are doing you a favor by serving you. I won't be back. Anyone thinking about opening a restaurant ought to come and check it out. It's a great case study on how to not run a restaurant.

Decent atmosphere. The tables in the corner by the door are a bit cramped and quite drafty on a cold night. Everything was underseasoned and the Queso dip came out luke warm and was pretty bland. The service was mediocre. Watch out for the restaurant staff when you head for the rest room, they will win in a game of chicken! Our entrees were pretty good with some help from the salt shaker. If management would step up and train the staff at Atonio's this could be a great and much needed addition to Longmont's restaurant scene.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Love this place. Every time I've come the food has been fantastic! Even just the bean soup is outstanding! I like my chips thinner and saltier- but that was the only thing.

Sat for 5 minutes with no greeting, no service. Watched another couple get seated and immediately get chips and salsa. Finally bearded, pony tail dude wanders up, asks if we want drinks and what we want to order. No greeting. Didn't know they had specials till we heard other tables hearing about them. Drinks were fine, dinner was no better than 3 Margaritas. Service was hit or miss, obviously we were a miss. Too bad for you, won't be back.

I've eaten here several times, so I continue to hope the food will impress me. It doesn't. We had dinner here a couple of days ago on an early Sunday evening. Our waitress was pleasant, but didn't know the menu, forgot our beer order (even though there were only 3 tables in the entire restaurant), but otherwise was very pleasant. Chips and salsa came promptly, and I have to admit - they have a great salsa. Smoky with great red chile flavor. We ordered a "New Mexican" red enchilada plate and beer batter fish tacos. I'm from New Mexico and have also eaten a lot of food in Taos (where Antonio is from), so I know what I like when it comes to New Mexican red and green chile. The red chile on the enchilada plate mocks New Mexican red chile - it was hardly authentic and I'm guessing it was "re-created" for less discerning/knowledgable Longmont palates. It had virtually no heat, and it had spices that made me think of interior Mexican cooking, not New Mexico red chile, which is generally a very simple preparation (primarily red chiles) to showcase the quality of the red chile. The fish tacos were OK, but I can get that kind of food anywhere. What I crave, and have yet to get at Antonio's after several attempts, is decent NEW Mexican food. Shame on you Antonio - I know you can do a lot better. For now, I'm boycotting your place. Wait a minute - Antonio did have a passable Frito Pie several month ago, and when I asked our waitress if it was available, she asked me where on the dessert menu I saw it....

We've been to Antonio's several times and love it! It's definitely one of my top choices for date night. It's not a huge restaurant, but we usually go on week nights so we've never had to wait. The food is awesome!

Wow. Totally unexpected in Longmont. delicious New Mexico cuisine. I had kokopeli. which was skirt steak with chili rellano. steak was tender, tasty and not tough. we had guacamole made at the table. fabulous. highly recommend this place and I am very picky!

I am so glad this place is open for lunch. What a pleasant surprise, Longmont has a new favorite for me. I can't wait to come back and try something else. The rice is amazing here and I would have consumed a lot of it. The fajitas were so flavorful and the meat was so tender. What a gem! I will be back with everyone I know. This word will spread fast.

Peanut Allergy Alert! The restaurant makes their own mole in house, the ingredients of which include peanuts. We were unable to stay and eat due to this, but we had already ordered margaritas before we discovered this via a randomly placed description in the menu. (the margaritas were EXCELLENT and strong, by the way!) The bartender was very sympathetic and immediately recommended another restaurant nearby which she knew to be peanut free. The menu looked good and I hope to try it someday without B.

Antonio's is a delightful find and a great addition to the Longmont food scene, and with improvements in their service, they will earn 5 stars. I know they're new so the service is a bit rough around the edges - slow to refill drinks, slow to clear plates, etc. However, the menu offerings make up for the neophyte nature of the staff. It's refreshing to see some "New Mexico"-style offerings - the Chile Relleno en Nogada, in particular, is AMAZING. Imagine a perfectly plump poblano pepper, stuffed with a cinnamon-spiced ground beef with apples and raisins, cloaked in a light egg batter and smothered with a creamy but not-too-rich brandy pear sauce...oh lord...and the pinto beans on the side were fresh, and not salty or greasy. The duck tacos are also great, and the smoky chipotle salsa served with the complimentary chips is so tasty. The tableside guacamole looked good, but we didn't try it as we knew the entrees would fill us up! If you're going to order a margarita, either order it without ice (if possible) or light on the ice - we found that every marg (including ours) was way overloaded with ice and barely any liquid, and they weren't "Longmont cheap." We said something about it to our waitress, but who knows if she said anything to the manager/owner. Worth the drive (and potentially the wait) from wherever you are...

Nice atmosphere the same place that a high end restaurant used to be. If you are expecting your usual Mexican food this is not where you should be. This a a Mexican fusion style food . Great tastes with duck or pomegranate . The mole is just right not to sweet or chocolate tasting . The rice is a cilantro tasting affair. All in all a new tasting style of food. Would most likely go to this spot again.

3.5 Stars. Very good overall. The Tacos de Papa a la Crema appetizer was nicely presented and tasted great. Nice twist on taquitos. I had the Pollo con Mole Poblano and it was good but the side of the Mole Verdi sauce made it really delicious. My wife had the Enfrijoladas which was boring. Needed some depth of flavors and a little pizzazz. Those items, 2 Happy Hour drinks and dessert was $60. So not cheap so it lost 1/2 a star on the Value Quotient and 1/2 star for the bland entree.

Food was great but service was awful! The hostess who sat us at the bar was obviously exhausted from a long night and didn't hold back from projecting that onto us. We sat and ordered food from the bar, but when my food did not come out for 45 minutes I asked the bar tender and she had forgotten to put our order in. Not only that but she had to re take our order because she lost the original ticket. An hour and a half after ordering our food it finally came out and was good, but it was hard to enjoy after the horrible service.

  • Paul Z.

Beware! Do not go here on a Friday night starving or wanting to tie one on. After a couple of hours you will be full but sober. While probably serving the best coin style margarita I've had in Colorado, the time from entering the door to receiving the cocktail was about 30 minutes. Service was slow. They offer huitlecoche enchiladas! The subtle flavor of the fungus was a bit overpowered by the bright mole verde, but a nice dish. The best option from our table was the enchiladas mariscos. The salsa is real nice too. But again, the service was poor. If there was another person at the bar, an additional wait person fully trained on the menu and restaurant operation, and a buser, service would be much better.

This was an EXTREMELY disappointing experience, we had been waiting awhile to try this place because it always seemed to be closed. When we finally caught it open we were so excited they were on a 30 minute wait which we didn't mind. We proceeded to get drinks at the bar which took 30 minutes to receive and when we finally did get our drinks they were the wrong drinks. We ordered guacamole and chips which they are supposed to make in front of you but we weren't able to see the lady make it because she couldn't fit her cart between the tables. But, the guacamole was delicious! (The only good thing of the entire meal) Our food was absolutely horrible it was cold, my sopapilla entree that I ordered the dough wasn't cooked. Another entree the fajitas had absolutely no flavor our party of 5 was already disappointed enough we pretty much left our plates untouched and the server never asked how everything was before bringing the check. It was an overpriced lesson learned to never go back for dinner again!

___Antonios' Restaurant offers a, clean, sophisticated and welcoming place of solace. Their scrumptious fish tacos was reasonably priced. The taco shells were sauted to perfection and stuffed with a light, flaky fish - no fishy taste ! Fresh Pico de Gallo seasoned with the right amount of zest made this dish delightful. Two tacos on a plate was the right amount of food for me, so I did not try their rice and beans. ___ We also ordered the guacamole. The dish was prepared fresh at our table so that we could choose the ingredients that went into it's preparation - outstanding. ___We want to thank the owner, Sarah and her husband for their friendly accommodations and conversation. Era un placer de hablar con usted - It was a pleasure to talk with you, Sarah. (Hope the Spanish is correct). We wish you success on all your endeavors. - Brighton CO sojourners

Our first and last experience here. WAYYY to expensive to poor food. Some of the worst Mexican food I've had. It started with the hostess not welcoming us, but "warning" us how lucky we were to get a table on a Friday night. Telling us next time we should get there around 5pm to get a table. Ummmm....OK. Gee thanks for the welcome to your restaurant. We got seated in the cramped, freezing dinning room. Our waitress was confused the entire time. She has to check with the kitchen on what came with one of the menu items. She had to check with the bar twice to see what beer they served. Told my husband they had 2 kinds of beer, then came back each time to say, "sorry" we don't have that beer. Joke. I got chicken stuffed sopapilla. I think they dropped the entire salt shaker into my meal. It was just plan gross. My husband got a seafood dish and never got the utensils to get the crab meat out of the crab shells- until after he was almost finished. We spend $65 on 2 meals and 2 drinks. We don't mind spending good money on GOOD food. This was money wasted. Guess we won't have to worry about every getting a table on a Friday night again, or any night for that matter. We won't be back. Sorry we ever went.

Great food! This is Mexican cuisine not the usual "Mexican food" you find elsewhere in Colorado. Perfect place for a business lunch or a delightful dinner out. The dinner menu has great variety including dishes featuring seafood. The flavors were exceptional. It was a dining experience equal to what I have enjoyed at the Bishops Lodge or the Inn of the Anaszai in Santa Fe. I had the Chimayo which was incredible. I don't particularly care for hot spicy dishes and this dish was a combination of flavors including pomegranates that was a delight and totally unexpected, About the service, when will restaurants learn that you must train the wait staff? You cannot take a pleasant person and just tell them to go out and take orders. A wait staff can make or break a business. If you don't know how to train, hire someone to do it for you. Our server was very pleasant but we had to ask her 4 times if we could see the dinner menu (we were having lunch) to find out if we would like to return for dinner. She was also upset about something personal and crying (discreetly) through most of service. This restaurant is now on our list as one of our favorites, not just for us but a place to take our guests for a dining treat.

The food's ok but nothing special and overpriced for what you get. The worst part is the service. We've been here three times and each time we waited for an unusually long time for a server to arrive at the table. You'll end up waiting for your drinks and waiting and waiting for refills. The employees seem to just not care which comes down to management. Obviously the owner/management doesn't read yelp reviews. We really want to see this place succeed but we've given it three chances and each time walked away completely disappointed. We most likely won't be back.

Our second time here and both experiences were stressful. This time, of 5 meals ordered, two were excessively salted (canned or frozen shredded chicken), two were not prepared as requested, and five meals arrived at three different times over about 20 minutes - wait times for service were long. Very noisy - we could not hear the overworked waiter as he told us about desserts. Worse, prices for a margarita without sweet and sour start at $13 and it is $9 for a little bowl of guacamole - they no longer prepare at your table. I am from New Mexico and have eaten multiple times at Antonio's in Taos and this isn't to be compared to that fine restaurant as this restaurant wouldn't last five minutes in Taos. The sad consensus at this table was, although we gave the restaurant a second chance, nobody would come back. They are just not prepared for prime time. Again you can't hear your table mates shouting if it is Saturday night.

  • Doug K.

Antonio's just opened on Main Street (where Terroir used to be) so we decided to check it out on a snowy Saturday afternoon. This is by far the best Mexican (really New Mexican) in town - hands down. They don't have their liquor license yet which was a bit of a let down, but did not take away from the great food. They did serve a fantastic fresh squeezed lemonade. We started with fresh guacamole made table-side. It was incredibly fresh with a bright citrus flavor. They made it the right consistency of smooth yet keeping some chunks of the avocado. The salsa was also very good balancing smokey flavor and spice. I had the corn truffle enchiladas and they were fantastic. The sauce was obviously fresh and hand made. My wife also had a great dish with black beans and another fresh sauce. The waiter was quick to pick up that we both ordered vegetarian entrees and let us know of others and others where they could leave off the meat to make them vegetarian. We will definitely go back soon and often. It will be nice when they get their liquor licence.

I found the menu and the food itself to be very mediocre. No compelling reason to return. The atmosphere felt lively and I was glad to see they are getting plenty of business, though doubtful they will get mine again. I would have liked to see some side orders for those of us that don't enjoy a huge plate of food. Very little healthy food offered in general. The salsa was tasteless and the chips were average and perusing the unexciting Happy Hour menu gave no incentive to return.

Very glad that Antonio's is in Longmont. The food is excellent, facility is very nice, and service was average. Most Mexican food restaurants in Colorado couldn't survive on month in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, or California. Antonio's would compete very well. I had the Relleno de Queso and it was excellent. Rice, beans and salsa were also very good. The staff was working hard but seem to be short a person or two because they were a little slow and inattentive. But like I said, those that were there were moving as fast as they could to keep the floor covered. Cadillac margarita was excellent and they have a couple craft brews on the menu. If Antonio's develops a more robust craft brew list I'll drop by more often for a beer at the bar (nice bar, btw). I recommend at least one brew from the 3 craft brewers in Longmont...plus a few from Ft Collins/Boulder/Denver....and a few National brands. This is craft brew country :-) I'll return soon and I'm sure they will still be there because they serve some of the best Mexican food in Colorado!

When they first opened, food was great, prices reasonable and margs mediocre (but very pricey for a small drink-$7.50!). Two weeks ago, some prices were raised by approximately 20%!. The question now is : why pay high prices for mediocrity??

Antonio's just started opening for lunch, so we decided to give it a try. We got there right at noon and we were the only ones there, but another party came in soon afterward. Sadly, we were the only ones there for lunch, because it was really great. They have a lunch menu now, but you can also order from the main menu. We had the taco place, with rice and beans, for $8.50. A good price and just the right amount of food. We also ordered the house-made guacamole, which is outstanding. We've been here a couple of times, and I think the owners are listening to their customers. It's been better with each visit and we'll definitely return.

In Longmont there is a lot of great Mexican restaurants, and this one does rank high on our list of favorites. The atmosphere was pretty nice and the waitstaff was very friendly, but the food subpar. I had a chicken chimichanga topped with green chili and it came with rice and beans. Since they pour they chili over the top, it makes anything fried turn soft, so they should put the chili down first and then put fried food on top. The rice was pretty bland and the beans were undercooked. My wife had their signature dish relleno de nagado, which was ok, but the sauce tasted like a ground up cinnamon roll. The chips and salsa were tasty though. The margaritas were tasty, but small. Three good gulps and gone. :( Their prices are indeed too high for what they deliver, we shall not return.

Let me come right out by saying that the food was delicious. Everyone in our party loved their meal, and everyone was satisfied by the end of it. The waitress was also very patient and informative, and her service for the most part was very good. However, the atmosphere was horrible. We went fairly early on a Friday night (probably not a good idea), and fortunately, got a table reasonably quickly. But the noise was insane. The entire restaurant was like an echo chamber, and the blasting music didn't help at all. The waitress couldn't hear our orders, and had to walk around the table so we could shout them in her ear. I asked several times for the music to be turned down, and the manager's excuse was that "there are all these people here! I can't turn it off!" Look, lady. No one is listening to the music. They're all too busy trying to hear the person sitting 5 inches away from them. It wasn't worth it. Sure, the food was good, but I don't want to risk my eardrums blowing out while I'm eating my fish tacos. Probably won't be coming back.

After eating at Antonio's for the very first time, I was completely hooked! The hostess was friendly, the atmosphere was authentic Mexican, the service was top-notch, and the food was absolutely spectacular (not to mention the Jalapeno margarita - a must-try!). We sampled several different appetizer plates, including chips with salsa and guac, crab cakes, shrimp tamales, and some taquitos. I can honestly say there were many flavors that I had never tasted before. The sauces were rich and complemented the dishes very well. The food presentation was beautiful as well. This was definitely a higher-end feeling than your average Mexican food joint, but the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, service, and experience!

I just came from my first visit to Antonio's. The best thing I can say about it is there was no hesitation in taking the charge for the bad food off the bill. It was louder than Red Robin, the service was very bad, we had to ask for someone to take our order, we even had to ask for water (which was from the tap, unfiltred). I ordered the Medalions/Langosta. The lobster came covered in sauce, IN THE SHELL. They provided no plate to place the shell on after I waded through the sauce to get it out of the shell. So I placed it on the table, which made a mess for us all to deal with. The meat was tough and bad tasting, as if cooked with liver. My guests food was better but just average fajita like fair. Plenty of meat with only two small tortilla's. We didn't stay to ask for more. I hope your experience is better. Too bad there isn't a minus star rating. I'll give it a one star so people don't think I forgot to rate Antonio's. We had seen the press about it being the best NEW restaurant. The fair from the trucks at Prospect on summer Monday nights is much better.

My friend that is gluten free suggested this place. She had a lot to choose from for her diet. I had an amazing meal also. We were there on a Friday night and had a 25 min wait so it's good to make reservations. The food was great and I will definitely be back!

Since moving to Colorado from Austin 2 years ago, we've been on a quest for good Mexican food to indulge our habit from our native land. We tried place after place in Longmont and a couple in Boulder. Some were OK, others not, but nothing came close to what we were used to. We put off trying Antonio's for awhile because the prices are a bit higher than most Mexican food places, but after 2 visits, we're hooked. And the extra $1 or $2 per entrée is well worth it. This is New Mexican food rather than Tex-Mex, but we'll take it -- by far the best we've had in Longmont or Boulder. Spicy salsa, good enchiladas, fabulous rellenos (the kind with the spicy cream sauce), delicious guacamole. And good happy hour prices (until 6:30) to boot ($3.50 for Avery pours when we were there). Service was a bit off the first time we visited, but excellent the second time. This is our new "go to" place for Mexican food. Highly recommended. (But please note they're closed for remodeling Sept. 1 - 14.)

I'm not exactly sure what Antonio's is going for. Their dinner prices seem to indicate that they're aiming for a fine dining-ish thing, and the menu has some interesting fusion ideas, but they aren't succeeding on the execution side. Service is poor -- on our recent Friday night visit, the hostess/manager (?) was pinch-hitting as a waitress, and virtually every aspect of our order was wrong in some regard. Husband's pour of Dale's Pale Ale was flat and bitter. All substitutions/special requests were ignored. Dining room is cramped with too many tables shoved into a small, awkward space. Not flat-out horrible, but I definitely won't be going back with all of the other options in the area.

My husband and I love this restaurant. The food is exceptional. Start with the table side guacamole made to your liking. The Chile Relleno en Nogada is to die for. Also anything made with their pork is amazing. So tender and delicious. We are so happy Antonio opened a restaurant in Longmont!

OMG! Awesome. Meet Antonio, he is great. Their salsa is awesome and then I have their Chile Relleno with pomegranite seeds and nuts in it and it was soooooo good. If you're a foodie and sick of the same ol' Mexican, then come here. It's good. Service was great, but I sat at the bar. I love the bar. I love to drink. I love to eat. I want to live here and have food dumped down my gullet.

Antonio's is undoubtedly the best Mexican restaurant in Longmont! That said it isn't a bad idea to make a reservation ahead of time! The service is great and Antonio is always there checking to make sure everything was to his customers liking! Although Antonio's does have some authentic Mexican dishes on their menu a lot of his specialties are served with a New Mexican flair! And don't forget to save some room for a few sopapillas at the end of your meal! You won't regret it!

Just got home from dinner here and it was fabulous! Hostess knew our friends that have eaten at Antonio's twice. She sat us right away, was our waitress and was awesome. Courtney had a positive attitude and when two of us asked for special requests, she said sure! I had the blue crab enchiladas - so good!! They have gluten free beer - 3 kinds. Antonio came out to meet us at our request and his manager from Taos was there helping with training, etc. and came by to visit also. Friendly place, great food, and wonderful atmosphere. Love the way they've decorated. We've been to this location when it was two other restaurants and Antonio has really created a nice ambiance. We will go back and we will tell our friends! Thanks for a great experience.

Great place for appetizers . The guacamole is made fresh at your table. Friendly staff. A little noisy. Entrees are hit and miss.

A lovely place with a good menu. It has the usually Mexican dishes for around $12, but it also has a dinner menu with special items that are closer to the $20 mark. I had a coupon so I splurged and got the beef medallions and lobster. I was surprised when I got two (small) lobster tails! There were 2 round pieces of tender, tasty beef, maybe 3" circum. and the sauce was brown and sort of smoky flavor (not mexican or white-creamy). The potatoes had a touch of cilentro, well mashed and buttery. Veggies overcooked. The chips were "store bought;"... and the salsa was not chunky, was tasty, and had a "hot" after taste -- I really liked it. The Margaritas seemed expensive, but I got a cheaper option: I had the sangria (sort of a mulled or spiced wine over ice) and it was a good size serving ($7); loved it. The waitress and staff were very friendly. The interior was lovely latino design. There are 3 long rows of tables, plus a bar, so it was noisy. People mostly wore jeans and a nice top. I got there at 5:15pm (opens at 5) and there were already 30 people (Saturday), and by 5:45 it was full. I was in an out in less than an hour, and didnt feel hurried.

Great food. LOUSY waitstaff. Seem really unhappy. Took our server 15 minutes to get to us. For water we had to ask a busboy. For our margaritas we had to ask another server. Watched our server shooting the breeze with the bartender... while we were waiting for the margs.... while the bartender was just shooting the breeze back. Something is wrong. Seems to be a lot of movement with lots of servers going around in circles. Really, are you listening, Antonio? Do something about servers. Or you will be number 88 in that spot.

Fine dining New Mexican style. I had the Relleno Nogado and my wife had the Sopapilla Rellena stuffed with beef. Both were excellent and nice portions, spiced perfectly, this is not the type of Mexican food you find in this area so if you are looking for the usual don't come here.

sadly a horrible experience...we ended up leaving before even ordering a main dish, after 90 minute wait for appetizers and cocktail, and a rude waiter, we decided we'd like to enjoy the rest of our night and cut our losses...and left. I wish them luck but will not be returning.

My wife and I stopped in for a Friday lunch and were not disappointed. We both love New Mexican cuisine and Antonio's had some fine examples on the menu. I ordered the Chiles Rellenos de Queso and my wife had a shredded beef burrito. When we asked the waiter if the chili verde was hot he suggested the red sauce instead. Ii'm looking forward to coming back for dinner as there are many dishes on the menu we haven't seen anywhere outside of New Mexico.

The food was well prepared and tasted pretty good. The service was horrible! We waited at least 15 minutes for any staff to acknowledge us. It wasn't particularly busy. We were seated immediately once the hostess came out. The waiter was awful. He took our order and then didn't come back to check on us until we were half way through our entrees. The salsa is spicy and we were eating food. It would have been really nice to have a beverage. We also would have liked more salsa. It felt like it would have been a good experience if I hadn't been so mad about the bad service. For the prices they were charging ($16 for one dinner, $13 for the other) the service should have been outstanding.

Came here with a large group and had the opportunity to try many different dishes and all were delicious - but the most spectacular is the house special, Chile Relleno en Nogada. Don't come here without trying this dish - you will be a superfan!

After hearing great reviews I had to try Antonio's for myself. I went last night for my birthday with a friend and we were both thrilled with the restaurant. The wait staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive and the experience was 5 stars start to finish. The salsa for the chips was smokey and flavorful and the Margaritas were delicious. Next the entrees were fantastic. I had the vegetarian enchilada with red and green sauce (both vegetarian) and the flavor was perfectly spiced. My friend had a Taco special with shrimp, beef tips and chicken and he said without a doubt it was the best Mexican food in Boulder County. We will be back again and again....

My first visit to Antonio's was on Mothers Day, when I had one of their specials which was amazing!! Prime Rib roasted to perfection and served au jus with sauteed mushrooms and onions, mashed potatoes and braised carrots and asparagus. Not your traditional Mexican dish, but a perfectly wonderful meal. We also enjoyed the guacamole prepared and served table side with their home made chips and a smokey tomato salsa. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was the Margarita was a bit of a disappointment. I tried the Cadillac at the suggestion of my server and could only drink about half of it. I would expect a restaurant of this caliber to have a larger Margarita selection. But, I will definitely be going back again to try some of their regular menu items!

Guacamole made fresh table side, was awesome. Enchiladas de Marisco were good but could have used a bit more salt. Chimichanga was good but also could have used a bit more salt as well. Dining experience was pleasant although it was busy, the staff was attentive to our needs and the portions were so large I had to get my Flan to go. The Flan was good, but once again a bit on the bland side. it is too bad that the chef is a little light handed on the seaoning, as the basic flavors were there, just lacked the little bit of extra zing to bring this up to a 4 star review

I'd give them 2-1/2 stars if such a thing was possible. Our experience at Antonio's was not all that great. We were going to a play at the theater down the street so stopped in for a cocktail and appetizers a little after 6, feeling confident we'd be done by the start of the play at 7:30. We got seats at the bar right away, but it took half an hour just to get a margarita! And the bar was a little crowded, but not extremely so - no excuse for such poor service. Getting the bartendress' attention was a real struggle, but we finally managed to place a food order with her. We watched her for a while, and it took her a very long time to get our food order placed. By the time our appetizers arrived, almost an hour and a half had gone by, and we wound up having to have our appetizers packed in a to-go container, which we stuck in the car before going to the play - hungry. And since the apps were covered with salsa and lettuce, they did not heat up well, so, basically we paid over $50 for two standard margaritas and had to throw the food away. We MAY go back because we think the problem was with the person waiting on us at the bar - and not the restaurant - but it will be with great hesitancy.

If you're looking for Northern New Mexico Style Mexican food in Longmont, Antonio's is the place. Their Margaritas are to die for, and their red and green chiles are something to look forward to. It's a little more than I would prefer to spend on Mexican food, but the quality makes it worth it. I think the pork is superior to the beef or chicken, but they are all worthwhile. You will spend a bit more than most Mexican restaurants in Longmont, but the quality makes up for it!

  • Ted R.

Decent food, though the Queso was cold. I'f you're going to spend $120 plus tip for a meal, obnoxious children from hell, playing sword fight games between tables, should get the whole family kicked out. mediocre service, one good plate btwn the two of us, and a host of unruly children. the help did not want to keep them at bay, nor did the parents give a ratss ass that their kids ruined a host of peoples meals.

Yum...yum...yum. Amazing food and something NEW in Longmont. Don't come expecting the standard Mexican fare-this is kicked up a couple of notches and amazing. Lots of others have discovered this place, so be ready to wait-but oh so worth it!

This place is a JOKE!!!!! The food might be OK, at best, but definitely not worth the experience. I have been here on two separate occasions, not because i wanted to come back , but only because the people i was with wanted to try " the best of Boulder". This place is not worth it! and certainly is not the BEST of Boulder or Longmont! To start, we enter the restaurant to be greeted by NO ONE!!. There was no hostess the first time I went, and me and my other 2 guests had to stand at the front door for about 10 mins before we were greeted. During this time we looked around the restaurant to see what was going on, we saw a couple servers VERY busy, and no bussers in sight. Eventually, a clearly overworked server came to the front and sat us. When we asked if there was a hostess the server responded truthfully and said "no". The second time we went , a short woman was hosting and she LIED to us and told us " It will be about 15 mins wait", 30 mins later we asked about a table and she said it wasn't ready, 50 mins later she sat us, at a table with mismatched chairs, and we had to ASK for water. The first time we went we asked about the whereabouts of a manager or owner. We were told that he was behind the bar. Interesting??..... What was more confusing was that the second time we went ,the owner was behind the bar AGAIN, BARTENDING!. Now, what kind of restaurant owner is soo cheap and understaffed that there is no Hostess, and he is bartending?? Furthermore, the second time I came, we saw the owner bartending again, I asked a different server if the owner/bartender tipped out any of the servers. (Because I have worked in food service for many years, and was very confused to see that the only, and official bartender of multiple nights was the OWNER). The server said " NO he doesn't tip any of us out, we tip him out at the end of the night." So the table asked the server what happens to the tips from the bar guests? The server replied " I don't know". Well, I do know!! If the owner is not splitting tips with the servers, then he is keeping it for himself!!! As a bar guest, it would DISGUST me to know that the tip I left is not going to the servers, but to a very greedy owner!!!! I do not know any good restaurant owners that would intentionally steal from their servers. The place is very hectic, and disappointing. Dine at your own risk!, and I personally would never support this establishment. Someone needs to look into this....

On a positive note, it was a comfortable and well decorated space. It was the most bland food I have ever had. Starting with the Chile con queso that was right out of a can, it only got worse. Ordered a chicken chimichanga with green chile, and also had a signature relleno nogado at the table. The chicken must have been boiled, it had absolutely no flavor, the green chile didn't have a flavor or any other characteristics. The releno filled with beef could have been from a bolognese recipe, very little flavor to the meat. The relleno was mushy and string, definitely not fresh. The service was ok. The waiter had never heard of anyone not liking their signature dish before, he was completely shocked when we said it was lacking any flavor. We were nice about it and simply said what this review says. Be forewarned if you are looking for flavor this is not the place to go.

Girls night out - we got a Groupon and swung by and went right in (granted, it was just after 5). We stayed away from drinks but went right for the food (ps, if you have time and stomach, they make the guac at the table!) and I had the Fry bread and my friend had an enchilada. Also had chips and salsa at the table gratis (yummy!). We both agreed that mine was the best - it is like pizza Mexican style and really, really good - also, really big. I ended up eating half that night, a quarter for lunch the next day, and the final quarter for lunch the third day. It reheated well and was tasty throughout. Not spicy hot but not really mild, I'd say maybe medium-mild? I don't like much heat and it worked well for me. Food is authentic to my mind, plenty of it, good flavors. Wait-staff was a little scattered, kept thinking we wanted things we didn't (ie, guac, drinks) but it worked out. A lot of things made in house and little room to accommodate allergies (ie, capsain, peanuts, etc) so be aware. I would say it has three options: 1. Drink and guac before going elsewhere 2. Dinner 3. Dessert (or, ya know, all three) Give it a shot, go early to ensure a spot.

The experience was not memorable and regret going out Thursday night here for dinner. We came in at 7pm (open from 5pm to 10pm) Attended by a very bright courteous server. I asked for supposing table side fresh made guacamole (was not made at our table) . My wife ordered steak and shrimp. I vouched for fajitas Atkins style. Out of shrimp? 7pm? They asked if it can be replaced with lobster. My wife ask for chicken instead. The food was off putting, the guacamole's pico de gallo was terrible! It's premade sitting in some weird tasting lemon juice. My wife complain her steak just had too much fat pieces. The pico de gallo included in fajitas and wife's plate. The steak was the same in fajitas ( I love fat pieces did not bother me ) Premium prices? I pretty much expected premium food. The location is nice and it's all convenience. I'm sorry Antonio I don't know where you were but This Was A Taste Of Failure The Salsa to the chips was horrible, forgot to mention it previously.

True hidden gem on Longmonts Main street. Our waitress had a great sense of humour. Made our lunch even more enjoyable. Started of with complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa had a little kick just how i like it chips were brought out warm. Had the chicken chimichanga smothered in green chili. Also came with rice and pinto beans. The chicken was amazing it melted in your mouth. Pinto beans andrice had great flavor. I will definitely want to try more off the menu..

Friday night, 10 minute wait...not bad. It took longer than it should have for our waiter to greet us, and he wasn't super friendly. I've mentioned this before. I know that we dine out primarily for food, but it's a whole experience. It's about the environment and the service and the food...all for a cost that SHOULD be a good value. People forget this. With a rude server, part of this experience is already tarnished. My boyfriend got a jalapeno margarita that was pretty good. It was just a smidge spicy and had chipotle and salt around the rim. Unique and tasty! I was pretty pleased with our food as well. I can't remember the particular names of our dishes but my guy ordered a seafood enchilada plate. His came with 1 crab leg on top of a crab enchilada and 1/2 a lobster tail on top of a lobster enchilada. He said he thought the lobster tail was a tad overcooked but it was still pretty darn good. I got a plate called the Taos something-or-another. It came with a taco (your choice of meat, I got chicken), a chile relleno and an enchilada (your choice of meat, I got carnitas). I thought it was good. A nice portion. They serve whole pinto beans on the side instead of refried beans which is nice. It's not a cheap Mexican food joint, but I also thought the food was of higher quality than some other places around town so perhaps the pricing is fair. Overall I would say our experience was just A-ok - 3 stars solidly. I'd go back to give them another shot.

Very little to add what has already been written. This is a really good restaurant with an exceptional menu. The normal fair you find in most Mexican restaurants is covered and these will cost between $8 to $12. Then there are the (mouth watering) specialties. Exceptional. This will cost between about $15 to $22. Well cooked to order, we had good service except for the 2nd drink order took some time. If your in Longmont or visiting and want a really nice place to eat some good Mexican food, highly recommend.

DON'T DO IT!!!! Ugh! If I could rate less, I would. The single redeeming quality of this restaurant is the chips/salsa. This is the 2nd time that my sweetie & I have had the unpleasant experience of dining here. 1st time I literally puked into my hands in the car on the way home. GROSS!! 5:30 pm We walk in & it is blazing hot inside & they start walking us to the back of the house. I ask if we can sit near the front so we can get a bit of air from the front doors that are open. The host who is AWKWARD turns & seats us up front. Note to host: you should really consider another profession that doesn't involve greeting people :) Sorry hun! Note: We purchased a Groupon as I attributed the 1st visit to food poisoning but now I just have to go with GROSS food. This is not New Mexican folks nor Colorado Mex. Just Gross Mex. 1. We order drinks. The hubs wanted something light so he ordered us 2 Bud Lights. I have to give the waitress props as she was very friendly...even though it was 110+ degrees in there. She returns to inform us that they were out of Bud Light. Ok, no problem. So the hubs orders a Corona and I opt for water...did I mention the heat? I ask the waitress if she is dying in there & she asks "why"? I respond that it's blazing hot. She smiles & replies "oh, the a/c went out today." Hello??! might you tell your guests when they walk in? Note: They have an exposed kitchen so its not only hot from the 100 degree day but it is coupled w/kitchen generated heat which is billowing out into the dining room. Seriously, I think this may have been a safety hazard for the chef & the kitchen team. After experiencing it, they should have closed the evening service & put a "closed" note on the door. No exaggeration, this place was HOT! 2. Chips/Salsa arrive which were fresh & hot & perfectly salted. The salsa is absolutely delish! Our hopes are very high!! P.S. I am thankful I consumed so much of them because they were the only thing I ate for approx $50 3. Appetizer of Taco De Cangrejo (crab cakes) arrive...a little over browned...on the burnt side but presentation was very pretty. The texture is an unappealing mush from over-worked crab. Not delicately folded into the spices but literally baby food. The taste is okay. Not offensive, not fishy, the sauces on the plate are nice. But texturally this dish is an epic fail! 4. I ordered the signature dish: Chile Relleno En Nogada. It looked beautiful plated but I gotta tell you, one bite and I literally had to keep myself from spitting it out into my napkin. It took me probably half a min to choke this down. Yuck! The spices took my breath away (not in a good way)! I think, "okay, no problem, I don't care for this dish. I will just eat my pinto beans/rice." These were bar none the worst rice/beans I have ever had anywhere! I mean not in streets of Mexico, at a restaurant abroad, at a local restaurant, in New Mexico, at a bad cruise buffet, literally anywhere. BAD BAD BAD The rice was completely unpalatable. It was shaped like a grain but so overcooked it was rice mash. Note to Antonios: Rice is an uber simple dish to make. Over cooked rice is unacceptable. Taste your food! You shouldn't be in a kitchen if you can't cook rice. Which brings me to the beans. Hello people?! Have you ever watched any cooking show ever? You may have a great dish but if you don't season it, it's unmemorable & unworthy of our hard earned $. These beans were severely under seasoned (which may be an over statement as I don't think they had any seasoning). Just water & pinto beans is what this pot o' beans tasted like. Okay, so, at this point, I resort back to the chips/salsa, which are still amazing by the way! 5. The hubs ordered Chicken Enchiladas, Christmas. Yuck! I won't even bore you w/my rant but suffice it to say, same rice/beans, boiled chicken (no seasoning), mushy corn tortillas, green chile w/weird texture & color (some sort of milky green that appeared to have been thickened w/corn starch) & unseasoned red chile. The hubs fished chicken out of his mush stack & dipped in red chile, just to get some protein for dinner. Happy waitress returns & asks about our meal. It's not even worth it to go into the number of ways in which this meal was an epic fail...& not cheap...even with a Groupon! We smile say it was great so she leaves, returns w/boxes to take our yummy delish-ishness home. We smile & thank her politely, fill boxes, exit promptly (as we are about to faint due to the heat) ANNDDD walk across the street & deposit said leftovers into the trash. Well, that's that. As I have said before, we LOVE to support local, home grown businesses. And this one has had a nice run with great press! I wish them the best! They seriously need to reflect & taste some of their own food. We will never spend another penny here. On the plus side, it's a beautiful restaurant & has PHENOM chips/salsa!

Sigh downgrading to just okay. Seems like this spot is death for any restaurant that occupies it. The evening didn't start well we were seated, placed a drink order and waited, and waited and waited. Finally someone comes by and apologized saying it would be right out. People that were seated 10 minutes after us were enjoying drinks gobbling their second basket of chips and ordering dinner before we got ours. So the bartender made ours finally and what shows up is disappointing. I ordered a dirty Grey Goose martini that was obviously shaken in a shaker just used to make a margarita. Ever had sweet and sour in a vodka martini I haven't. I charge on and order my usual Relleno En Nogada and as soon as she puts it on the table I notice it looks different. Less sauce, smaller portions of rice and beans and no pomegranate, a key topping on this dish. At this point expectations are not being met so I dig in hoping for the best. Totally off in taste compared to previous visits. This dish usually explodes with taste and on this night completely bland. We eat about half our food ask for the check and leave disappointed knowing just steps away is one of our go to joints in the area. Sucked because this was a rough day and we needed a badly needed escape.

For starters I thought by the name that this was an Italian restaurant. But to my delight it was a cute little Mexican restaurant tucked away on Main Street in Longmont. It felt cozy inside but maybe a little to dark. My friend and I took a seat at the bar which was great! The bartender was helpful and told us about their specialty drink for the day. It was absolutely delicious!! Jalepeno, watermelon margarita. I had never even thought about putting watermelon in a margarita but it was marvelous. We were just there to get a drink but their handmade guacamole looked so yummy so we gave it a try. The fresh ingredients made this a favorite. I look forward to going again soon and trying more of their food. The chips and salsa, I might add, was good as well. The service was not that great, but the food and beverage more than made up for it.

The food was bland. Tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. Nothing was fresh. Enchilada sauce was flavorless. The beans and rice were cold. And the food was overpriced. This was a very disappointing experience. We will never go back.

Exceptional service. We had the special ribeye fajitas. Possibly the best steak I have ever had other than home cooked. My wife had the stuffed sopapilla with green chili sauce. Very good as well. The chops and salsa was ample and tasty. Beer was cold. We will definitely go back.

Wonderful! House Margarita was very smooth and mixed and shaken by hand. The house salsa and chips were great, I would buy the salad bottled, though it was too fresh for that. My husband and I both had dishes with steak and shrimp. The seasoning was fresh and deliberate, little too salty for me. Blythe freshness of the pico made up for it. I can't wait to go back the atmosphere is casual and relaxed.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization.
