Yes, there are a TON of frozen yogurt self-serve options out there. What we love about this place (besides the obvious) is that there is an actual atmosphere. A brand. No, I'm not looking for this type of thing normally, but after going to a zillion froyo places, we noticed Menchie's has it. And it's fun, and we like being a part of that. We've never had an issue with a slacker employee, in fact they've always been on it when we've been there. We go once a week (minimum) in the summer and my 3-year-old enjoys the toys, if we're not eating outside. They switch the flavors up every so often, save the usual (and my favorite) "Tart". I had to contact customer service to ask about a T-shirt for my son, and they were immediately responsive and fabulous. I'd add another star for that alone. I think this is a good company, so I opt to go here when we have a choice. When in Boulder, though, we hit up Spooners or Ripple since there isn't a Menchie's there (yet).

8/19/15 - if your website says you close at 10, stay open until 10. We showed up at 9:10 and the door was locked. Alternatively, fix your website. Otherwise the place is really good.

Super disappointed in this location! I love Menchies and you have let me down. My wife and I arrived at 9:08 (Store closes at 10) only to be turned away by a worker, saying that the store was closing due to the weather (minor drizzle). All while there were customers in the store. I understand cost cutting measures but turning away customers to cut costs is counterproductive.

I was very disappointed in the customer service. I was criminalized by my race. The cashier, a petite young girl, assumed I was only sampling and gave a distinct attitude. I was asked to leave if i wasn't going to buy anything. She was very rude. Over all, Aside from the mistreatment, they have many assortments of frozen yogurt.

What a cute little yogurt shop! I loved it. It was a happy and fun stop, plus the yogurt was great. The owners were super helpful and friendly. We enjoyed all the flavors. They had a huge topping selection, including whipped cream. I wished they had hot fudge and Almond Roca, other than that, perfection!

I love frozen yogurt, but the owner of this Menchie's has terrible customer service. She is rude, short and definitely not someone who's business I want to support.

We've generally enjoyed Menchie's each time we've been there. We''ll take our three-year old daughter who loves the selection of toppings she can choose from... and I guess so do we. The good: The yogurt tastes good. We've been to some places and all the flavors have this underlying sour yogurt flavor. Meh. No thanks. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. Our kid loves it! The bad: We do think it is a tad bit expensive. We'd go more often if the price were more reasonable. They do have trouble keeping things clean. During the busy time, they should send someone around with a broom and dustpan to sweep up, inside and out. We've walked in and had napkins sticking to our shoes within 4 steps of coming through the door. Sometimes the fruit selection looks like it was abused. Keep the toppings fresh! I think if they address the three problems above, they could be an even bigger hit here in Lafayette.

Screaming teenagers everywhere. Good fro-yo though!

There's so much competition now, that I've downgraded Menchie's -- just too many other options out there that are superior. Menchie's yogurt flavors continues to be great (but the new chocolate covered banana -- eeeeeiii -- not a fan), but the toppings are just as important and they just aren't up to snuff. 1) Fresh fruit is key for me and all the fresh fruit is mushy and sketchy. 2) No plain white mochi -- only multi-colored. This is a staple item for me. 3) Messy, messy store. I know it's a Saturday night, but still... other stores make it happen.

Menchie's beats other dessert places on quality, selection, and price. You start with a cup or a free waffle cone bowl. (Other Menchie's locations add $1.00 for the waffle bowl; there's no charge in Lafayette.) Add any combination of twelve flavors of yogurt, mix in dozens of different toppings --from chocolate chips to captain crunch, fresh strawberries to graham cracker crumbs -- and top it all off with some whipped cream and marshmallow sauce (or other sauces). Kacey E and Dave B in earlier reviews both remarked on the price here, but a large helping of fully loaded yogurt usually comes out to about $4 --that's a great deal for a fully customized dessert! That's about what I'd expect to spend somewhere like Cold Stone for a single flavor and single topping. There are other "make it yourself" places around, but none I've seen compares to the selection at Menchie's, and that makes all the difference. The yogurt flavors change regularly, though there are some staples (chocolate and vanilla have always been there). You can sample as many flavors as you want with small sample cups provided. We had to try them all on our first visit, and we try any new arrivals each time we go. Most flavors are either fat free or low fat, so they tend to be 100 to 150 calories per half cup. Keep in mind that the cups are HUGE, though. Filling one would be enough dessert for three people. But you're paying by the weight, not by the cup, so put in however much you actually want to eat. Definitely get a loyalty card. You don't give out any personal information; you just get $5 off for every $50 you spend. And they give you the $5 discount right away, so you don't have to wait until you come back.

There's no way around this - Menchies is just really expensive. Hard to justify coming here on anything like a regular basis at these prices. If restaurants in Lafayette want to stay in business, they need to understand that they can't charge Boulder prices. The tradeoff is lower margins and stay open or ... Well, you get the picture.

FroYo Menchies is your typical yogurt bar that screams ASIAN. Cute spoons, cute colors, cute concept, & so on! The whole self serve idea is cool especially when your a kid. I always imagine myself as a wee child and the crazy concoctions I would have come up with. I'd be mixing ten different flavors and adding as much candy on top of that mess with little regard for whose paying for my 'per ounce' creation! Now, they had all the spouts spitting out froyo of different flaves. I get a kick outta the swirl options when they have two flavors that go great together like chocolate & vanilla, cheesecake & raspberry, and whatever else they feel like pairing up. I grab a mini cup and try whatever seems like a winner. Free samples are always awesome!! My kids loved their chocolate yogurt with sprinkles. I, on the other hand, went for the tangy variety with some fresh fruit. Not bad. At first everything seemed normal but I noticed that the fruit wasn't chopped "with love." Big pieces and fresh may not be the best word to use. Cleanliness is always an issue for me because I've seen some horrid things in my day and I worked at amazing establishments that are super by the book and have 'A' ratings from the health department. I heard some comments about sanitation and I did notice that they could clean the spouts and unseen areas a lot better. With that said, I liked this place. It is a little pricey for what it is but I guess your paying for the experience too!

Very cute place - always clean, well stocked, and nice people. However, not a fan of making people pay for the only water available... people are eating something sweet, and there are a lot of kids in there! Give them some water, for cry-eye!

This has become by go to for froyo in Colorado. The staff is nice and the selection does change so they keep fresh as far as flavors are concerned. Even in the winter they stay open until 9 and I have never had an issue at all here with anything, always tasty and good. Colorado is gaining in the froyo selection realm, but this is still my favorite by far.

This is a fantastic, easy place to bring your kids for a quick treat. We like the lower calorie frozen yogurt. However, I must admit it doesn't have my favorite flavors. Therefore I gave the food 'very good' status. The decor is overall welcoming. They have lots of games, toys and even a GIANT chalk board for the kids. However, the employees can sometimes be slack (or maybe they are just busy) when it comes to cleaning the place. The service has always been welcoming. We like that you can sample all the flavors before choosing what you want. It is also fun that they give the kids a little toy whenever they come. We have signed up for their rewards card. If you do, be sure to register the card online as you get 25 points automatically... and its 50 points till a free ice cream!

I took a group of 36 kids and 6 adults to this Menchies yesterday. It was fantastic! The place was clean, welcoming and fun. Best of all, Lisa and Kyle really helped the kids make their selections and kept the line moving so that no one had to wait very long. All the kids are asking if we can go back next week!
