I had heard about Mier's Deli from a few people in Lakewood and finally got around to taking myself out for lunch. I had the Hot Pastrami. It was really good. I ordered it before I noticed the Friday special, the pulled pork. I'll be back to try a few other sandwiches, including the pulled pork. Simple little place, great service. Seating is limited so if you want to eat there go early. Even a couple tables outside.

$6 turkey bacon combo. It's all I've ordered in the years I've been coming here. It's all I plan on eating here. You don't mess with a good thing, especially at $6 for an awesome sandwich, a bag of chips and a drink.

This is a great old school deli that makes very good sandwiches. I only discovered it because there is an alterations shop in the same little strip mall that does really nice work. So, while I was way out there (for me living In Speer it's a haul), I thought I'd give them a shot since reviews are pretty good. I had a very tasty turkey club with Swiss and a side of potato salad (I like my potato salad mustard forward). Prices were quite reasonable, staff friendly and the food tasted fresh and wholesome. Not sure I'd drive across town just to eat there if I wasn't going for another reason but it beats the heck out of Snarf's, Jimmy John's and Quizno's. It's a little hard to find out on Old Golden Road but if you find yourself out on far West Colfax (Colorado Mills neighborhood) it's definitely worth checking out.

I ordered the club, chicken noodle soup, & the potato salad, it came to around $8. When I mentioned it was my first time there, the woman explained to me how the halves, etc work. A half sandwich is actually a whole sandwich. A quarter sandwich is actually a half sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good and very filling they don't skimp on the meat which is nice. Potato salad was not bad but I kind of felt like I was kind of eating straight mustard. The chicken noodle soup did not have any chicken in it at all.

I drive by this place every day after work but have never seen it open. I got off early today and went to check it out. Apparently they're only open until 3 so I probably won't get to eat there too much.. The selection is wide and varied. I just chose a turkey bacon sandwich. It was $6 for the combo with chips and soda. The sandwich was really good and basically what I expected from a small place like this. Fresh bread roll and turkey were great. And plentiful. Would have liked to see more bacon. Gave it 4 because they're not open past 3 :(

I had another great lunch. I always love there Ruben sandwich. No Frill's just good food. Kris m.

Good quality beef, OK bread, rubber cheese, nothing special. The "whole" sandwich is average in size and over priced. Limited menu of canned sandwiches. This isn't a Deli Sally and a good one in the area would put these smug fools out of business.

Looking for a great sandwich? this is the place. I love their Ruben, best one you will ever find. They make their own sauerkraut and the meat is the most tender you will find. Great service, nice people.

Love this place and have been coming here for years. Friendly, clean, more food than expected, and all if it really good! Almost like a NY Deli, as far as portions go.

So happy to have found this place, a real deli. I was born and raised in north Jersey and grew up with delis, real delis, like Town Deli, Summit sub shop, etc. Mom and pop places that were basic in decor but served great sandwiches for a reasonable price. Since living in Colorado I had all but given up on finding a place like this. Jersey Mike's and their ilk are a sorry facsimile of a real Jersey deli. So when I found Miers, and walked in, I was not expecting much, although the lack of ferns and corporate fast food decor showed promise. I did my usual test, which up until now no deli had passed west of the Delaware, I order a roast beaf 'Joe. For the uninitiated, that's roast beef, turkey, Swiss, coleslaw and Russian on rye. They didn't have Russian, but 1000 island is close. Well, happy to report that they made me it and it was great. It was also cheap. A real sized sandwich, chips and a drink, for about $6. That'd what a deli lunch should be priced at! So 5 stars as Miers does exactly what it supposed to: good food, good prices, friendly staff and no hint of corporate homogenized blandness. If you're an East Coaster, or simply find value in honest straightforward eateries, give 'em a try! Now just gotta see if they can make a Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a hard role...

Mier's serves, among other things, tasty sandwiches with fresh ingredients. Sammies are not over-sized but are certainly big enough. I have had the turkey club with the addition of cucumber, sprouts and avocado, and it's delicious. Service is great and best of all? So reasonably priced. It's hard to get a good deli sandwich at Subway prices ... but this place does it. Try!

Inexpensive, simple deli place. Had a really nice combo (turkey, ham, provolone, mayo, tomato and lettuce), as well as a pea soup, and it tasted good, filled me up! The lady was super nice too. Not a fancy place.

I have lived in Colorado since moving from Chicago in 2000. I have never been able to find a REAL deli, not the fancy over-priced mediocrity of Denver Highlands and certainly nothing downtown. Finally a place that has all the things you expect to be in a deli, fast, and CHEAP! You'd pay at least double for a similar sandwich in most places or the same price for half the meat. I like this place so much, I'm leaving work to go there right now! Do it!

Diamond in the rough! Unlike everyone else on Yelp, I have NOT been going here for the past 20 years. I just started a new job in the area and found this place through Yelp and am so excited to have found a close deli that isn't $13 for a sandwich! Pros: Lots of meat, the 1/2 combo is the average full sandwich, hometown, friendly staff Cons: Didn't love the macaroni salad, it's old school (but I think that's more of a pro these days!) I think I might just go there for lunch today! :)

Mike G.- I totally agree. But 4 stars 'cause it just not the same as 20 years ago... (obviously they got old and not me he he) But seriously, the sandwiches were a little more stacked back then.

Great place for sandwiches. Inexpensive, fresh, and fast. What more could you want. Didn't have any sides salads but the tuna was good and so was the sub.

Cheap, delicious, fast and friendly service. Best local place for lunch in Golden if you are looking to avoid the monotony of chain restaurants in the area. They will customize your sandwich from an assortment of more types of bread, lettuce, cheeses, and meats than you could ever imagine. Vegetarians note: they make great veggie sandwiches...definitely not the mayo and iceberg atrocity that you may find at other places.

I used to visit this deli every day 20 years ago when I worked in the area. Spending the day with a friend today, and discovered this gem is STILL around! We picked up sammies, and I'm pleased to say that they aren't any different than I remember. Amazing. Great service and wonderful food!!

The deli is fast-paced, yet the food is delicious! My sandwich was well made, well-sized, and I didn't want to put it down. and the atmosphere is of a little hole-in-the-wall you'd never think to go to. BUT PLEASE DO! I was recommended by a coworker, and they couldn't have been more right. The sport paraphernalia on the walls made it interesting to look at while giving you an honest "a family owns this" type of feeling. Love it.

Oh my goodness, this place is awesome! I usually visit at least 1 time per week. I have had several different sandwiches as well as the salads and have never had a thing to complain about. They are fast, they are friendly, food is fresh and they are inexpensive. Got the Ruben today and it is out of this world. 1/2 sandwich (whole sandwich just half the meat and HUGE), chips and a drink for $6.00.....are you serious. Love this place and will return often!

Really?!? You people gave this 4 and 5 stars? And you say the Reuben is the best in Denver?!?!? What a disgrace. I have had a better Reuben from anywhere that serves one. This is the WORST Reuben, not just in Denver, but probably the whole world. Dry, old corned beef with a rainbow shine showing that the meat had nearly gone over. The dressing was Kraft Thousand Island in a packet. The bread was god-awful, not sure what kind of cheese they put on it, and they were out of kraut. Bon appetite!

Since we had a working lunch, we got a bunch of sandwiches from Mier's Deli. For about $5 the sandwiches were filling and tasted like a well made deli sandwich. Nothing spectacular, but it was cheap and good. The only other thing I have to say is that one of my co-workers who loves Rubens said that the one here was really good.

All of my coworkers love Miers. Fantastic sandwiches for a great price and the nicest service ever- it's one of the small local shops where they remember the regulars. Watch out, the full sandwich is enormous, the half sandwich is the normal size. You can also add things to your sandwich for no extra charge. My favorite (created by my friend Daniel) is ordering the veggie and adding salami. Lots of fresh veggies! They might be naming that sandwich after him eventually.

Maybe I'm being overly picky, but the sandwich I had was nothing special. The place seems like a nice little neighborhood hangout for older locals, but I would hesitate to get excited about it. The ham on my sandwich tasted like it was soaking in briny water before it got on my sandwich. I actually has to pull the last of it out to finish my sandwich. If I had to go back there, it wouldn't be terrible, but I'm sure not stumbling over myself to get there.

This place is the best, I agree if you order the half sandwich you still get a pretty big meal. The reuben is outstanding, but I can honestly say over the years I have eaten almost everything on the menu and have never been disapointed. Sherri and Troy you are a institution in Golden.

  • Jeramyn F.

The secret here is to order the half sandwich, the full sandwich is just more meat. They have one of the best rubens in Denver. This is a little hole in the wall place that is always packed for lunch.
