D'deli has raised the bar on what a sandwich can be. Very possibly the best sandwich of my life was encountered here. Generally, I tend to prefer warm food over cold cuts and high-fructose-infused white bread. That was before I discovered that every part of the sandwich can be excellent - fresh bread, quality meat, homemade blue cheese aioli. I'm referring to D'deli's signature sandwich, the Oxford. In fact, I was so addicted to it for a month, I haven't ventured to alternate to the extreme variety offered here, including other signature sandwiches unique to this deli. I have had bites of my husband's sandwiches to know that the quality is consistent. The long line outside of the door at lunch moves quickly enough and is definitely worth the wait. This place is a long time staple of Golden, and every local knows it's something special. Staff is very cool. And they have never forgotten my "extra blue cheese aioli" yet :)

Awesome sandwiches, I was ther on a business trip recently and will make sure to come back the next time I am in Colorado

Amazing sandwiches. Amazing. Try the Dalton, Aspen Buddha, Gold Hill or my new favorite, the D'EVILed Egg. The lines can get long, but the wait is absolutely worth it. Try going right when they open at 11, or waiting until after 1. Don't walk by just because of the line!

Let me begin by stating that I am generally not a big fan of sandwiches. When my friend suggested this place, I almost suggested that we go somewhere else--but that would've been a huge mistake. This place is absolutely, positively delicious. I ordered the Bahn Mi and can say with certainty that it was the best sandwich I have ever had. Since the moment I tasted it earlier today for lunch, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. It was a religious experience. I live over half an hour away, but that won't stop me from making the trek on a regular basis, because this place is well worth it. I can't wait to come back again and try some of the other sandwiches they have to offer. If you're looking for an awesome place to eat, look no further.

I always bring my out of town friends here for lunch. It is always a little packed and standing in line takes a while, but that is actually beneficial to me because I usually change my order a few times while I'm waiting because I'm indecisive as hell. Their French bread is always fresh and crusty, the veggies and condiments are fresh and unique. You can make any sandwich a salad or wrap if you are feeling a little chubs that day. They have many strange and unique sandwiches if you are feeling like something off the beaten path, and they are hit or miss in my experience. I really like the Italian, the turkey (with a curry mayo I forgot the name), or the tuna (which is delicious as a salad as well). There are many that I am yet to try. The menu is gigantic. Good stuff.

Freaking delicious! Hope you make it when they have the green chili soup. Everything is good and fresh. And don't get me started on the bread. Try the golden club if you can't decide.

Best sandwiches in Golden, get there early the line is long & the seating is limited.

Somehow these guys have been in business for years and I've only just discovered them recently. Big mistake! This is the kinda place where you get the biggest sandwich you can so you can eat til you're full & then eat it all again later. Best to stop in after a long run or bike ride on the trails in Golden. The menu is as big as the sandwiches. You'd need to go for a lifetime to try all the combinations. But start with the corned elk. Yes... ELK. Staff is friendly, they've got outside seating, and did I mention the corned elk?

Huge selection of sandwiches. I had the frontier made with Buffalo, which is a first for me, and it was delicious! Wish I lived here to try them all.

After the apparently stressed-out hostess at the Old Capitol Grill sniped at us (when we asked if we could sit at the bar and order food) we left there and luckily found D'deli. It's a tiny little place (reminds me of a European cafe) where everything is made fresh. There were three of us and we each ordered whole sandwiches. I had the pork barbeque sandwich, my sister had a panini sandwich and our friend had a veggie sandwich. The Italian bread my pork came on was very fresh and delicious. We each ordered a homemade lemonade as well. Total cost for three whole sandwiches (they sell halves as well) and three lemonades was $31 and we all agreed it was well worth it. The staff there are awesome as well.

I had the most delicious sandwich after taking the Coors tour. This was the perfect spot and the Buffallo meat sandwich was AWESOME! Great patio seating for this summers weather. Would definetly recommend.

I have eaten thousands of sandwiches during my lifetime. Some good, some bad, some just OK. But I can honestly say that I have never had THE BEST Sandwich till I ate at D'Deli! This place just knows whats up. Crazy combinations that you, or your crazy cousin, would never even think of...but somehow just work. I mean, it's nuts! Who comes up with these things? I've had the opportunity to try many of their genius concoctions and let me tell you...yum, yum, and more yum! First they're not shy on piling on the meat, then they pour on one of their freaky good sauces, followed by veggies that you just don't get anywhere else on the planet. I mean, seriously? Who thinks of putting these things on a sandwich? Whatever, whoever...it works and it's GOOD! The food is exceptional! But the service is what really makes this place stand out among all the other D'Deli wanna be's in Golden. The folks inside just made me feel welcome and even tho the line was long, it went quick. I'll keep coming back to this place for lunch time and time again because when it comes to good food, these guys just have it down!

Came here after a bike ride from Denver. There are a ton of choices which is a big plus. Most importantly the sandwiches were excellent. Great bread, quality ingredients, and a stuffed sandwich. Nothing better. Prices were fair.

Busy but worth the wait. Very good sandwiches and great service. Best to go at non-peak times.

Thanks for the suggestion Yelp! We had to split the Jewzer sandwich because it was so big. Fresh and delicious.

This place is amazing. I was in Golden, Colorado for a business meeting and wanted to grab lunch once it was done. After checking around on yelp, I decided to go to D'deli. So good. The menu is huge with so many delicious looking options. But I chose to build my own sandwich. The freshly baked wheat bread was to die for. Then you can chose from tons of toppings. The variety here is no match for any other sandwich shop I have ever been to. And they have amazing fresh lemonade. I am drooling thinking about the best sandwich I have ever had.

This is a wonderful local place with great food and great people. There is definitely a huge rush at lunch so avoid the noon hour unless you have time to stand in line. But even if you wait, it will be worth it. Lots of choices, everything is fresh, great meats and cheeses. Definitely stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Nobody should be complaining about the price of this place, nor should they be complaining about not getting chips and a drink at this place. It is a sandwich shop, and that is what they do. They make sandwiches that are so good that you don't need the extra filler stuff to fill you up. The list of ingredients is downright amazing, and if you want, you could put all of it on one sandwich and it would be the same price! (you couldn't eat the sandwich because it would be too big) The make your own option is a great way to be creative and see what you can come up with. The thing about Al and Tim down at D'Deli is they are not a chain sandwich shop They actually understand that making a sandwich is an art, and they are good at it. They are aware of how to properly layer a sandwich, as well as how to mix tastes! Any sandwich shop that has crispy onions, roasted garlic, and honey in their arsenal is ok by me.

  • Peter M.

I am, in general, a fan of the mom 'n pop type sandwich outfits. Historically, I have had better experiences at a locally owned joint than any of the big chains. That said, I was disappointed that I was not blown away by their sandwiches. My gal got a pretty tasty one, but I chose the French Dip, and was a bit unimpressed. Now, don't get me wrong - it wasn't bad. It was tasty enough, and the bun was great... Just lack luster somehow.

As a New Yorker, I'm always on the lookout for a good sandwich. I stumbled into Jimmy John's a few days ago and was immediately disappointed that I wasn't going to have a good sandwich place for the summer. D'Deli definitely fills that void and I'm so glad that I decided to check it out. Their sandwich menu is very extensive, and I found myself jumping from choice to choice before finally ordering the Heater. The staff was really friendly, even got the chance to talk a bit about the ongoing Eurocup as my sandwich was being made. I ordered a half sandwich which, for lunch, was the perfect size and price. The meat was great and the veggies+sauces worked perfectly. The inside is a bit small, but I easily found seating right outside. Definitely going back, and I highly recommend this to others who are looking for a great sandwich place.

Crazy, fun, little shop. The guys behind the counter were nice, but obviously took their sandwiches seriously. I had the Undertaker - turned my pee wasabi green, and I loved it. My wife had the TMI which was a full and delicious deli sandwich complete with all sorts of veggies, cilantro, chicken, crispy crispy bacon and a spicy cream cheese spread. Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for fun or adventure.

  • Ray B.

Wow! This joint is fresh, innovative and most importantly delicious. Start with the bread, fresh baked and a creamy texture. Fillings: A very impressive selection of super quality items, common to esoteric. The posted sandwiches range from Thai to peanut butter but each has twists on the theme, thus making each a gastro-adventure. The line can look long, as well it should, but the sandwich masters are fast and the line moves very quickly. High recommendation.

This place is incredible. Period. Ok, so if you show up at noon you'll wait in line. The place is small, sure. But... Lets start with the bread. The bread the owner finds is amazing. If you're questioning this, just ask for a stub to try it. White or wheat, they're both incredible. The owner get his bread from a local bakery in the area and is some of the best bread I've had in the States. Now on to the ingredients. After frequenting this place for 5+ years I've never tasted one ingredient that was too old or out of freshness. The owner serves only the best ingredients and they are always fresh. Always. Then there is the *huge* selection of ingredients. Almost any meat you'd ever want on a sandwich. Same with the cheeses, try the smoked Dutch Gouda. Veggies galore. Then there are all of the sauces. He has stuff you've never imagined on a sandwich, and its all damn delicious, guaranteed. Now lets talk about combinations. This is one aspect of this deli that is tough. There are so many darn options (because of all the options mentioned above) that making a sandwich choice is pretty intimidating. Choose any of the options off the menu though, you can not go wrong. Feeling adventurous? Make your own sandwich! Choose any of the incredible ingredients and you'll be pleased. Plus, he doesn't charge per ingredient, its a flat price for your sandwich, no matter how loaded you make it! All of these factors combined you will get one of the best sandwiches possible. I'm not even kidding. This place makes one of the *best* sandwiches in the state, perhaps even in the west. I'm sure of it. If you want to test this, just try the simple Golden Club. Nothing fancy, just turkey, bacon, lettuce tomato, the bare essentials. This simple sandwich will show you the quality of ingredients that are used. Then once you decide to get more complex you'll realize there is an entire sandwich universe out there that you've been missing out on. This place may get knocked for their prices, but I for one, have no issues paying for such a high quality sandwich. You truly get what you pay for here, probably a little extra. Honestly, with all of the options that are offered here, and the high quality of the ingredients combined with how fresh everything is, I don't know how this place stays in business! In Summary: This place makes the best sandwiches ever! EVER!!! Wait through the line, it'll be worth it. I promise. Be adventurous with your decision, you will not regret it. Guaranteed. Also, the brownies are to die for. From another local bakery, they are the best brownies I've had.

I've been going here since I was about 12. It is the best deli I have ever been to. The sandwiches are ridiculously good. But there's a problem. The sandwich you choose initially will get you hooked. When you visit the next time, you will be pulled in its direction once again. Let go. Try a new one. Every time you try a new sandwich, it is like you are learning about a new dimension. Recently, I am on a quest to try every sandwich they have to offer. Each time I enter the deli I longingly look at the last sandwich I ate, nostalgically reminiscing of the good times we had together. Still, if you press on, you will be rewarded. Since I started this task I have tried: Golden Club The Heater TMI Maui Waui The Jackwaggon Frontier Greek Jolly Olly Big Baller Everyone is delicious. In fact, I have made a point of going to other delis in my travels and the best of most would have difficulty just making it onto D'Deli's chalkboard. Al, the owner, is a standout guy. He recognizes you and your family if you frequent. I go to school out of state...I'm thinking of transferring to School of Mines

This is the best sandwich place anywhere -- not just Denver, not just Colorado. The guys at D'Deli can honestly do no wrong.

Kickass sandwich. Maybe the best I've ever had. I split the Dalton - I almost didn't share. It was a little on the small size (i'm not a linebacker - but it wasn't that huge?) I'd get a whole just for me i'm ever lucky enough to be in Golden again.

I literally drove here straight here upon landing at the airport. This was my first visit to the Denver area and based on the previous reviews I read and the menu I studied prior to my trip, I couldn't wait to get to D'deli. The number of options available will give any foodie the sensational overwhelming feeling that we yearn for. I was sad to be dining solo because I had no one to share with, but with the help of the friendly sandwich maker, a great decision single decision was made. She prompted me to try their homemade tzatziki on a piece of bread and that secured the choice... I don't even remember if my sandwich had an actual name or if we made it up, but it was a terrific combination of veggies and turkey (which she was nice enough to heat for me since I am 'with child'). The bread was perfect too... I'll take some credit for opting to have it pressed, but really they have a great thing going at this sandwich shop. And if you're contemplating to get a half or whole... the half is what most places would consider a whole! The staff was so nice and helped make the initial meal of my business trip a great experience. One other thing I appreciated is that they actually had 'baked cheetos' as a chip option (ya don't see that very often)! The cost of my lunch was just right too (I want to say right around the $7 mark). Side note: D'deli is located in downtown Golden, which is an adorable area with a beautiful setting. While I dined outside, taking in the view of the mountains and the western looking signage/buildings, it almost felt like I was on a movie set! This South FL gal doesn't get to see things like that very often ;)

Food alone: 4 stars. Very unique sandwich choices and a variety of fresh and interesting ingredients. The Bommy Mommy is light and delicious. Price: 3 1/2 stars . . little bit pricey, but not bad. Service: 2 1/2 stars. Primarily run by high school kids. Friendliness seems to be a mixed bag. The girl who rang up my order said neither "hi" nor "thank you", but did give me a dirty look when I refused to put anything in her tip jar. Will give this place another try and hopefully a slightly more positive review next time.

A good deli. Good meats and excellent bread. What else can you say about a sammich shop? They make a good sammich. :-) They have veggie options if you're of that persuasion. Prices are a bit high but as others have said, the quality of the ingredients makes up for the price.

I've had the Heater, Jolly Olly, Fire Cracker , and the Prime Time. Let me tell you that this place has the best sandwiches outside of Lenny's in Philadelphia. They have about 20+ original sandwiches which all sound great. Every time I'm in Golden I head here and check another one off my list. They chop up all of their vegetables and condiments very fine helping the flavor to spread thru the whole sandwich so you get the full taste with every bite. Only negative is lol: there were about 20-30 bees in the restaurant and outside the deli that were all over my friend and I. We had to walk down the street and eat our sandwiches on a bench. It could be worse!

Great little deli with amazing selections. They have some really unique options that you wouldn't think of yourself or get most places. It is a bit small so you had to grab a table quick or get it to go. I had a turkey sandwich with sunflower seeds, banana peppers, sprouts, cucumbers with curry aioli sauce that was a light but tasty sandwich. I would only get a half sandwich as the full size is too much for one setting.

Just might be my favorite Deli in Colorado! Its just the best, I dont know how else to say it. I think I am in love with D'Deli. When we first moved to Colorado, my fiance was a grad student at the School of Mines and used to eat here for lunch during the week. Then one weekend when friends were in town he suggested we try this sandwich place he goes to all the time. Oh Boy, let me tell you I couldn't believe he had been hiding this amazing lunch destination from me for months! The selection of high-quality fresh ingredients is great. I love the crusty bread. You have to try the Aspen Buddha or the Heater they are my favorite. The sandwiches are filled to the brim and leave you stuffed if you can finish the whole thing in one sitting. They do offer half sandwiches, but for the price its better to go whole and have some for later! YUMMMMMM!

The Best sandwidch shop I've found in the Golden so far. I like it and my friends like it.. I didn't try all of menu yet, but so far so good~

  • John G.

Good but not great. I ordered the prime time and I thought the sandwich would be bigger than my head. But no, not very big at all for a $13 sandwich. (John then how big is your head?) Just don't see what all the hubbub was about !? Good but SPENCSIVE ya Know.....

  • Lei M.

Our go-to sandwich shop in Colorado! Bf order the JWB and was pleasantly surprised, nay, thrilled! It's his favorite sandwich on the menu. I ordered the Bahn Mi, which did not disappoint! Had the Bahn Mi w extra teriyaki sauce and spicy aioli, making for a delicious and awesome sandwich. Tip: If you think they're squeezing too little sauce, you're probably right. Don't be afraid to politely ask for a little more (staff is awesome and always happy to accommodate), as the bread can make the sandwich a bit dry.

  • Tasha H.

This is the first place i tried after moving to Colorado, and it left me with a great impression! First of all, the menu is insane. So many options, and combinations you would never dream of. I had a half Bellanini - super delicious. I was worried there would be too much going on in the sandwich, but it all worked together and tasted great! The sandwich was a mess to eat though, so maybe not a good choice for a first date... Also be warned: the half was more than enough for lunch for me... It's a very generous half! Can't wait to try some more of their creations!

Friends have been telling me to check out D'deli since I moved to Golden and I could kick myself for not doing so sooner! This little sandwich shop packs some serious flavors into their sandwiches. Picking the right sandwich for you from their huge selection could be the hardest decision you make all day! My personal favorite is the Colonel. Chicken, garlic, maple syrup goodness. I actually wasn't sure what to order and one of the guys making sandwiches suggested it to me. If you're unsure of what to get just ask them! I am sure glad I did because I've been in love with this sandwich ever since. Forget same sex marriage debates, I want to start petitioning for human and sandwich marriages! I would get down on one knee and pop that pretty question for D'deli. They also carry a variety of your favorite snack chips that you would find in your lunch box growing up. The brownies are also aaamazing and baked locally and fresh. I always get one despite the fact I can barely finish my sandwiches. The portions are pretty big! D'deli is not comparable to but reminiscent of Zingermans in Ann Arbor. It's got it's own awesome laid back vibe and signature taste. It's the type of place every college town should have. With that said, it's a pricey sandwich but well worth it. An abundance of fresh toppings snuggle happily between two slices of delicious bread. The staff is always so friendly and awesome. They really make the whole experience awesome. There is some seating indoors and some cute patio seats out on the sidewalk. Also, don't be intimidated if the line is out the door. It moves pretty quick and it is 110% worth it!

D'Deli is another one of my boyfriend's favorite spots, and I quickly learned why upon my first visit. The sandwiches are inventive, many even outrageous, combining ingredients I would never dream of. He challenged me to try the Jackwagon, which fell underneath the "Wild Side" category. When I initially read the lengthy description, I was skeptical, but after eating it, I was hooked. Here is the breakdown: peanut butter and jelly. That's it. Along with honey, sriracha, sunflower seeds, bacon (which I asked to have left out), crispy fried onions, pineapple, jalapenos, and banana peppers. That might make most want to run for the hills, but it was a flavorful punch to my taste buds and I ended up getting it twice in our Memorial Day weekend visit. I love this little spot and hope to visit many more times.

BEST SANDWICH EVER!!! The one I got was the Bellanini with the spicy peppers, the full size was huge and u can add a drink or chips or fruit for $2 more. The establishment isn't all that fancy and doesnt have a ton of space but that is okay because they have the best sandwiches in town hands down! Don't judge a book by its cover, and definitely don't judge D'Deli by it's cover. Sure the kitchen walls could use a little scrubbing, and the restaurant could use more space, but they sure do make a delicious sandwich! It's always super duper busy in there, like line-out-the-door busy, and I never knew why before I went there but after going there for the first time and trying their heavenly sandwich I see why its always so busy and why it has multiple awards for years in a row. Highly recommended!

This place is great! We were up in Golden for the afternoon trying to float the river (which happened to be closed). We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite and this definitely fit the bill!! The bread is amazing - something that can either make a break a sandwich for me! They also used super high quality meats which is wonderful! I ordered the firecracker which was a little spicy - so stay away if you don't like spice! They have a huge selection of different sandwiches which is awesome. I wouldn't have thought of some of their combinations. The other great part was that we were able to change things up which makes it really nice. The service was super quick which is awesome. When you order a sandwich, the last thing you want to do is wait forever for it to be done.

Yummy and different. We had the Italian and really loved it - I would leave off the mustard and add more Italian dressing but it was good and fresh. I would for sure go back and try different crazy sandwiches - tried a half knuckle sandwich which was good but too sweet for me. The lemonade was terrific and the cute kids sand pails they served the kids sandwiches in were great. Service was friendly.

Outstanding! Today my coworkers and I came here for lunch. Luckily I was able to park on the street right out front. Their patio tables had adorable little vases with containing yellow flowers. Upon coming in, we noticed the place is quite small. only about 5 little tables inside. The menu however, is not small! There are two boards. They have sweet, spicy, premium, traditional, the list goes on and on of TYPES of sandwiches they have, then goes into more detail with so many awesome choices with so many ingredients! I went for the whole sized TMI (about $8.50) on wheat, it contained..*deep breath*: chicken some fancy cream cheese spread corn black beans lettuce tomatoes green onions cilantro jalapenos black olives cheese red onions Now that is a filling sandwich! I also got chips & a drink which was only $2. My total came to about $12. Not bad considering all the ingredients and the delicious bread it comes on. The people working were friendly and efficient. We sat outside. One coworker got the TMI like I did, the other ordered The Dalton. Hers was more of a panini and I tried a bite, it was so good! I typically don't like spending over $10 for an office lunch but I will be back, these sandwiches are great.

LOVE D'Deli! We spent a lot of time in Golden over a two year period becsuse of a court case, and came here for lunch a few times. Never a bad sandwich - the service was always fast and there was always a line. I highly recommend this place.

After going on the Coors Brewery Tour, my friends and I wanted to grab some lunch and explore the neat little town of Golden. We looked at a few reviews and it didn't take long for us to pick D'Deli, which seems to be the best and most popular spot to dine in Golden. As we approached the small sandwich shop, the line was almost out the door. Although there are about 5-6 guys behind the counter taking orders and making sandwiches, most of the sandwiches seem unique and labor-intensive so the line moves a tad slow. There are only about 3 tables inside, but a few tables outside, and if you're lucky, you might be able to snag one of them. The sandwiches here are really unique and one can tell there's much thought put into coming up with the pairs to every single sandwich; this isn't your typical mayo/mayonnaise/call it a day kind of sandwich. They also have everything from safe choices to crazy, wild sandwiches with elk and buffalo. Based on the recommendation from the gentleman behind the counter, I ordered the knuckle sandwich: prime rib, bacon, artichoke dip, cayenne honey, and jalapenos. The combination is unlike anything I've ever had and the mix of cayenne honey, artichoke dip, and jalapenos turned out much better than I could have imagined. Choose the combo with chips and a drink or enjoy their fresh lemonade. Props to D'Deli for the creativity, care, and quality they so obviously invest in their food and service. I would highly recommend checking this place out!

We ate here twice during our 7 day stay. I had the "Prime Time" on white. The large is a lot of sandwich easily shared. Fantastic fresh ingredients, expertly and cheerfully crafted as you watch. Bring your appetite and enjoy. Snag a table on the sidewalk if you can, it's more fun out there

It's a treat introducing people to this sandwich shop. I always take people visiting to this shop because I've never had a sandwich I didn't enjoy. Here's a quick list of my favorites: Dalton, Aspen Buddha, Greek, and the Popeye (add turkey if you're not a vegetarian, it's so good!) I've never gotten a whole sandwich here, I always order half and walk out stuffed. It's so reasonably priced too! There's not a lot of indoor seating so if it's nice go eat outside. And be ready to wait in a line if you go at lunch time. The line gives you a chance to really study the menu up on the wall with all of the different sandwiches they have, and the specials too. There's a wheel up front that you can spin if you can't decide, there's a chance you'll get a free sandwich but also a chance you'll get The Junker (Peanut Butter, Egg Salad, Cayenne Honey, Roast Beef, Sunflower Seeds, American Cheese,Sprouts) I trust D'Deli's combination of ingredients but this one scares me a little. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to spin the wheel. The kids meals come in a cute bucket with a shovel! Perfect for splashing their siblings if you're going to play at the creek later. Just thinking about this place is making me drool. The only problem I have with this place is that they aren't open at dinner time. I wish I could stop by after work sometime. but you know, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Favorite place to eat when I'm in Golden! D'Deli has a great staff and great ingredients! They have mastered sandwich making and I like it! Get the JWB if you like something hot.. Awesome!

Unimpressed. The sandwich makers seem put out and pissed. Go somewhere else for your deli sandwich.

The most creative sandwich spot I've ever been to. The bread is freshly baked; try the corned corned elk for a special treat! Service is reasonably quick but the line is typically long. The fountain soda cups are also too small.

D'Deli is truly a unique treasure in downtown Golden. You are seriously missing out if you leave Golden without stopping by for some of the tastiest and memorable sandwiches I have ever had. There is absolutely no comparison to any other sandwich shop. The storefront itself is deceiving. It takes up half of a full store and has the feeling that it was simply constructed in an alley. It's charming, but around lunchtime there is very little elbow room. Generally there is also a line out the door waiting to order. Please don't let this discourage you, it is well worth the wait. There are 30+ sandwiches available, some of them are fairly normal sounding. You have a club, an Italian grinder and a few others. There are sandwiches that are a bit out of the ordinary (cream cheese on a club). After all of these, there are sandwiches like the jackwagon with is essentially a bacon PB&J with peppers and sunflower seeds; brilliant. Check your skepticism at the door and jump into the genius of D'Deli.

All the creative combinations and awesome ingredients get lost in the bread that hurts your jaw trying to chew through.

Hands down the best sandwich(es) I've ever had. Date of Visit: Many D'deli is a small sandwich mecca in downtown Golden. The shop is pretty small, and the lines can be lengthy, but it's ok, as you don't want anyone around watching you woof down a large sub in 15 seconds. So far I've tried the Gold Hill (Roast Beef & Bleu Cheese), Golden Club (Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Bacon, Swiss), and Bahn Mi (Pork Loin, Chili Garlic Aioli, etc.). I would consider all three in the top 2-3 of their respective sandwich categories. I've also heard from multiple sources that the Buffalo Ruben is out of this world. Between the friendly staff, solid prices, and absolutely outstanding product, D'deli simply can't be beat. If they offered beer I would probably live there.

The guys running the place are friggin' awesome. I'm part-Viet and got the banh mi. They didn't skimp on the meat or veggies. It definitely hit the spot!

I've been here twice in the last week, it's that good. Both times I've ordered the Knuckle Sandwich, which is the most amazing conglomeration of food to ever appear between two pieces of bread. Prime Rib Artichoke Dip Bacon Cayenne Honey Jalapenos An amazing piece of french bread turned inside out and grilled Best sandwiches on the planet

I love this place and make sure I come here every time I'm out in Golden! They have some pretty crazy (but delicious) concoctions of sandwiches! I am attempting to eat a different sandwich every time I come because they all sound so amazing!

My gripes about this place are somewhat insignificant - so I'll open with the good stuff. They have very unique sandwiches. I mean really bizarre stuff. This is a HUGE bonus for me, because I tend to not get that excited by some meat and cheese slapped on some bread. Here you can find all kinds of weird stuff, most of which is delicious (in fact, one of my gripes is that the menu is so long that it's almost impossible to read the whole thing). The service is friendly and helpful. The lines get pretty long, but they really are quick when it comes to sandwich making. Don't be deterred - the line moves fast! Don't expect much of a place to sit if you go on a busy day, they have a very small indoor space and only a couple tables outside on nice days. Unless you're going during off hours, I'd suggest planning to eat your sandwich elsewhere. Overall, this place is pretty good. I'm definitely going back to try it again sometime.

Disclaimer: I'm vegetarian. Good place to stop by after hiking the golden gate state park. Really good vegetarian sandwich options. Tried the undertaker sandwich, was good but you may want to skip the horseradish. The horseradish blew away my nostrils. Seems to be a popular place. It was recommended by two locals. Nice streetside tables.

Selection was over the top. Ingredients are all very fresh. We ate outside on the sidewalk. Not a lot of seating in it out but hey it's a deli. Live with it. Price might be a bit more then you'd expect but the quality of food is outstanding.

The best! The long line at lunch is well worth the wait. A favorite of mine. I have not had a sandwich there that wasn't completely delicious. This is a gem in Golden that keeps me coming back!

D'deli is a great sandwich place! They offer exotic meat so please try one of them when you get here since jot many other places offer that. We ordered the big boy and was impressed with the portion as well as the flavor. It was a little spicy but still good. We had to share our sandwich as a whole one was really a lot. I heard the half one was a lot too! Come here hungry and ready to share!

D'deli is one of the top deli's you'll find anywhere. Period! A bit of awesomeness in the heart of Golden. Trust me when I say that n your first visit you'll spend a minimum of 10 minutes examining the menu. The whole damn thing looks so good. That said on my visit I gave up and asked the sandwich maker to recommend something, he handed me a slice of what looked like perfectly cooked roast beef, it wasn't. It turned out to be perfectly cooked Corned Buffalo, good stuff! He said to try on a Ruben, him being the expert I said OK. What a great sandwich! The buffalo had a great flavor, not dry but juicy, the Sauerkraut was excellent. I'm a happy man with excellent food in front of me, I was happy. Next time I plan on the Piggy Wiggly - Ham, Bacon, Cream Cheese,Guacamole, Salsa, Fried Onions, Sprouts and tomatoes or maybe the Golden Rack - Elk, Goat Cheese Cream Cheese, Dijon, Mint, Basil, Blackberry Chutney, Mixed Greens and balsamic or maybe the Beef & Reef - Smoked Gouda, Cream Cheese, Honey, BBQ Dijon, Roast Beef, Seafood Salad, Cocktail Sauce, Sprouts, Onions, and Tomatoes...you get the picture. If traveling east or west on I-70 it's worth the deviation to grab lunch, with very limited seating expect a line if anywhere close to noon. D'deli is something special.

This place deserves all of the amazing reviews it has. I stopped by today for lunch. Having been warned of the long lines, I got here just a few minutes after they opened. Lo and behold, the line was already out the door. D'OH! The food is worth the wait and the price ($9 for a half premium sandwich). I got the prime time which has prime rib, gouda, a horseradish spread, spinach, asparagus, onions, jalapenos and cranberry. I was seriously surprised at how big the half was and could only finish half of my half. I was also seriously surprised at how great the flavors were! Everything played its own role in the sandwich. YUM! When I got to the cashier, I mentioned how busy they were. She asked if it was my first time (which it was) and gave me a free brownie. How nice is that?! I will definitely stop by here again.

D'Deli is one of my favorite places in Golden. Yummy, unique sandwiches, great customer service. Might be tiny, but absolutely worth the wait. Take your sandwich to go if there's no room inside and explore downtown Golden! Great place!

We have been a couple of times. They have some of the strangest sandwich concoctions but have never been disappointed. They also have traditional sandwiches but we always try staff favorites. There is limited seating there so we think better as to go or take to the park. Kids lunch comes in a little bucket which the kids think is awesome! Definitely a great place to try.

  • Chuckie G.

Uhhh yeah. This place is awesome. Very innovative and interesting sandwiches. Great quality ingredients. Always enjoy our visit. Kiddos really like the sand bucket lunch box. They think that is super cool. Only bummer is, this place is so good it is hard to ever want to try another lunch spot in Golden!

  • Will J.

As far as sandwich shops go, this is as good as it gets. Very fresh ingrediants, and even with the line being out the door (it moved quick) the staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions. I ordered the knuckle sandwich which had smoked prime rib on it....awesome. $10 for a half sandwich but well worth it and the half is enough to fill you up.

  • Brittany B.

I got the "Heater" - it was a spicy turkey sandwich but the spice wasn't too much. I think it would of been better if the sandwich was toasted but would still recommend. There were so many other sandwiches that I wanted to try, sad I'm not sure when I'll be back in the cute town of Golden,CO.

    (4)
  • David S.

What a fantastic place! Had my first experience there this past weekend when visiting CO for the first time. I was initially suspect when my friend suggested a deli for lunch as there are lots of choices to eat in Golden. But what a surprise. This is not a traditional deli where you get a ham and swiss or corned beef on rye. This is an eclectic array of artisan sandwiches with great fresh ingredients, delicious bread and a funky vibe. I got a banh mi and it was amazing. Heaps of roasted pork, spicy sauce and so many fresh greens -- cilantro, scallion, carrots. It was like a mini Asian salad on my sandwich. I would eat there today if I was in CO still.

    (5)
  • Ralph M.

The rave reviews are deserved for this place, the sandwiches are great. However, if you are a vegetarian, you might want to steer clear. They have a common prep area with bits of meat scattered about. When you order a veggie sandwich, it will be prepared on a cutting board with lots of pieces of roast beef and pastrami, and cut with a knife that just powered through a thick stack of lunch meats.

    (3)
  • Katie T.

Right off the bat I'll let you know that I'm a big fan of simple sandwiches. Generally I have 4 max ingredients on any given sandwich so when I saw this extensive menu I knew that this wouldn't be my particular cup of tea. It was quick, the service was friendly but I don't think I'm the target demographic. My taste buds just like something a little more simple.

    (4)
  • Cynthia H.

Really really yummy. Good bread, creative and fresh filling options. There's going to be a line, so go during off-times or just stick a smile on your face and know they are working as fast as they can.

  • Amy D.

If I knew I were going to die, the Bahn Mi is what I would choose for my last meal. Showed up at 11 a.m. on the dot today (the minute they open) and was already fourth in line. The sandwiches are THAT good. Thanks for being awesome, D'Deli.

  • Aditi A.

The menu is a little overwhelming - as in everything looked interesting - so I asked the friendly sandwich man what he'd like to whip up for this vegetarian/pescetarian D'Deli newbie. Even though there was a line forming behind me, he took his time to explain his favorite combos and ended up throwing together an delightful spicy smoked salmon + tzatziki + avocado + caper + cream chs + spinach + KIWI (yes, fresh juicy kiwi slices) creation on White. See pic. The entire staff there are downright jovial and made my last dining experience in this town truly a "Golden" one. Minus one star for price - the sammie came to about $15.

  • Kara A.

This place is a great find in Golden. It's not your typical deli. The menu has SO many varieties, including multiple vegetarian options. I ordered the Bellanini, which is a panini with mozzarella, garlic, olive tapenade, pesto aioli, mushrooms, onions, roasted red peppers, artichoke, basil, spinach, feta, and a side of balsamic. It was ah-mazing. They also have some crazy fun options like Jackwagon - Peanut Butter, Jelly, Honey, Sriracha, Sunflower Seeds, Bacon, Fried Onions, Pineapple, Jalapenos, and Banana Peppers. No one in our group was brave enough to try this option, but I'm planning to order something a little more crazy next time (minus the bacon). They have Boulder Canyon Chips and Baked Chips, which are my absolute favorites. The line on Sunday was a little long, but it was worth the wait, and our food was prepared almost immediately. It was impressively fast once we got to the counter. Next time I'm hiking or running in the Golden area, I'm definitely hitting up this spot!

  • Joshua T.

One of my best mates and I grabbed sandwiches here and beers from around the corner, then headed up Clear Creek Canyon to sit by the water and relax. The sandwiches were amazingly superb, bursting with unions of flavor that would make the snarkiest of TV competition chefs salivate for a bite, and the staff was so friendly and proficient that we left the restaurant not with doubts that we'd like the food, but questions as to whether or not we'd stop back through for an early supper. I don't remember the names of our sandwiches, though I believe mine had elk or another game meat and some manner of berry-based remoulade. All the super-special sandwiches are immortalized on the walls with hand-written fliers, and I'd definitely recognize it if I came back through for one. I'd be hard-pressed to turn down the opportunity to try something new, however. The menu of offerings is extensive, and you can always, ostensibly, build your own sandwich using their wide array of toppings. It's like Subway in that regard, but without the chain-restaurant robotic staff and friendly-yet-cookie-cutter atmosphere. The staff also has recommendations to tease your appetite, and they work swiftly enough assembling the sandwiches from scratch that even if there's a long line, you won't be waiting overlong. Do plan ahead, though, because I've yet to be through when they're *not* busy. The food is worth the wait, though, and definitely worth a return visit.

My boyfriend moved to Golden a few months ago and we discovered D'Deli on one of my more recent visits and are so glad we did! This is not your ordinary sandwich joint, in the BEST way possible. If you're in search of a boring ham-n-cheese go someplace else because the flavors you'll find at D'Deli pressed between freshly baked layers of bread heaven will make your ordinary sandwich go running home to it's bland mommy in tears. This place has an ample menu of clever named sandwiches that all have delightful flavor combinations. Some are classic, like the "Golden Club" ~Turkey, Ham Roast Beef, Bacon, Swiss, Mayo, Lettuce, and Tomato, while others are more adventurous like the "Gold Hill" ~Roast Beef, Blue Cheese Aioli, Onions, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Beets, Jicama, and Spinach. I got a whole "Aspen Buddha" ~Turkey, Swiss Cheese, Curry Aioli, Sunflower Seeds, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Sprouts, Banana Peppers, and Cucumbers, last time I was there and thoroughly enjoyed it. the best part was, the sandwiches are BIG, so I was able to eat half for lunch, then take the other half with me to go for later. The staff is very nice, and very efficient. There is almost always a line at this place, but the wait is never long. If you are ever in Golden, GO TO D'DELI. If you are even close by, DRIVE TO D'DELI It's worth it.

Looking for some grub after taking a free tour of the Coors Brewery and this was on the list of "places to go in Golden". Boy are we happy we did. The prices of all the sandwiches are a steal and this place gives new meaning to the phrase "gourmet sandwich". I got the big bomber (I think), the one with meatballs and mozzarella and the works. Most amazing sandwich I've ever eaten. Although the line was out the door, it was well worth the wait. Another must stop.

Came here for lunch today based on excellent reviews and was not disappointed. I ordered the "Jolly Olly" sandwich and it was yummy! I ate there and the was a line to the door the entire time. The secret is out. For excellent sandwiches in Golden, go to D'deli!

We randomly stopped by here looking for a quick bite and left with an awesome Buffalo Rueben paired with excellent customer service. We appreciate a no fuss atmosphere that still provides a well balanced menu with thoughtful ingredients. We left happy.

I really loved eating here. I had a half Dalton sub and it was seriously too good. I added a drink and chips and it filled me up, no way I could eat a whole. My boyfriend ate the whole Aspen Buddha and I had a bite and liked it as well. Pretty busy when we went, but the guys working were friendly, but not cheesy-friendly, which is a plus in my book. At first our meal was $20, and I thought that was a little expensive, but after eating it was worth it completely. And my boyfriend couldn't finish the whole, so we had some for leftovers.

Thank you Yelpers for this recommendation. My husband and I stopped here after going to the coors brewery before heading up lookout mountain. The place is small with limited seating indoors. There was outside seating near the lemonade stand. The portions were just right for a half order. If you are hungry I would recommend the whole sandwich sub.

If you're a sandwich aficionado then this is the place for you and dare I say you won't need to travel anywhere else for a sandwich because D'deli has every kind of sandwich imaginable. The BF and I decided to spend the day in Golden walking down the main drag and enjoying the day. To my surprise we walked right past D'deli, I almost had a heart attack. I then spent the next hour or so telling the BF how long I've been dying to try D'deli. It didn't take much convincing and we decided to have a late lunch. The line is always out the door of this small sandwich joint, this is very common. Don't let the line discourage you. Take the time to read the entire menu and read some of the newspaper articles on the wall. The BF and I finally decided on two sandwiches: The Firecracker: Roast Beef, Pepper Jack, Horseradish Ranch, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Roasted Red Peppers, Jalapenos Reuben: Grilled Panini Style, Corned Buffalo, Swiss Cheese, Thousand Island Dressing, Sour Kraut When we got to front counter we were chatting up the guy behind the counter and he handed us handfuls of meat to try, corned elk, and some corned buffalo. Both super tasty. I love a place that's proud of their meat (in the non-dirty sense). The Firecracker was mine and had a definite heat level to it. If you can't handle spice this is not the sandwich for you. The horseradish ranch was to die for. The sandwich was piled high with roast beef, my mouth is watering now as I type. The Reuben was delicious, stacked with corned buffalo, an interesting twist on the classic Reuben. The BF added some giardiniera to spice things up and it was just right. We inhaled our sandwiches and were in complete ecstasy. *It's worth mentioning that their bread is freshly baked, fluffy, and crispy at the same time. Not sure how that's possible but they've got the hookup for the best bread around. Part of me wishes this place was in Denver, but if it was I think the line would be a mile long and I'd gain 50 pounds because I'd eat here every day. I'll let them stay in Golden and when the urge for the best sandwich in the world comes along, I'll drive to Golden.

Amazing sandwiches! I had the Oxford corned buffalo with basil aioli, tomatoes, cheese, and it was incredible. Don't order the Full sized unless you're super hungry - the Half was loaded with meat and toppings and was probably 8" across. The Full could easily feed 2 people. Small place, with only about 4 tables inside, and about 4 tables outside. On a Sunday the line was out the door, and about a 15 minute wait to get the sandwich. It's pretty simple tho - just wait in line, and when it's your turn it's made right in front of you. Really, an excellent sandwich, served no nonsense. There's about 10 other things on the menu I'd like to try. Lots of crazy combinations and they helpfully categorize them into "sweet", "hot", "wild", etc. Some of the combinations sound really weird, but they all looked fantastic. Basically a high gourmet sandwich place in little old Golden that isn't afraid to mix wacky ingredients in a fast Subway-style environment.

  • Blake C.

Get there early, the line at lunch can be huge! Service is relatively slow so if you get there and the line is out the door, skip it. If you get there early or there is no line it's a fantastic place for lunch. I recommend the Aspen Buddha, but there are oodles of good choices I've had there. Seating is a premium, and at lunch you can expect awkward glances from people waiting in the long (and slow) line. So, sit inside at your own risk. I find it a little creepy! The people are always nice and despite me thinking that things move slow, it's a quality operation and I can't see a way they could move faster. It's just the character of the place.

  • Paula K.

Call me a sucker for gimmicks, but I love places like this! The 20 minutes spent waiting in line were easily occupied by Reading all of the crazy options on the menu. I ordered a twist on the bahn mi, adding peanut butter and pressing as a panini. Tell me, where else could I join my love of pickled ginger, cilantro, and peanut butter in a single sandwich? It was a flavor explosion in my mouth! My husband ordered one of the customer suggestions on the wall (the Spicoli), which was basically a sandwichified pizza. He scarfed down the whole thing, though a half-sandwich was more than I could eat in one sitting. This place is pretty tiny and does not have a lot of sitting room, but it was definitely a fun experience for our first time visiting golden.

  • Cody J.

Long line. So what? Statistically you wait three dates for...dessert. So, what's 20 minutes for the best sandwiches ever? I had The Knuckle Sandwich: prime rib, bacon, artichoke dip, cayenne honey, jalapenos. -- however, I added peanut butter. And it was....possibly better than dessert. And I've had some fantastic dessert. Even though this is a 50 minute drive from my house, I imagine I will make time for this establishment on a semi-regular basis. It's that good.

Outstanding place. Great variety of sandwiches including Elk, Buffalo, and Prime Rib. Great service as well.

Probably the most creative sandwiches ever! We had D'Ziki (prime rib with tzatziki, sunflower seeds, hot peppers, cilantro, etc) and Prime Time (prime rib, Gouda, honey horseradish Dijon, asparagus, cranberry glaze, etc). Delicious. Also who makes a peanut butter sandwich with Sriracha sauce (amongst other ingredients)? Fantastic place.

  • Chris W.

Neatest little sandwich shop in Golden, food was incredible. Only 1 gripe was there are just a few tables inside so very hard to get a seat, most times can sit outside on the patio but on this unfortunate day there was a light drizzle so the place was packed and no where to sit. Fortunately we got a table but most other patrons were not so lucky.

This place is hands-down the best place to grab a bite in Golden. The menu is plentiful, and super delicious (Dalton is my fav). Grab it to go, and head to GCB for a brew for a perfect day!

I think I just had my life's best sandwich. The Piggly Wiggly was all the right kind of things: bacon, guac, cream cheese, fried onions... need I continue? The line was long but moved fast, the prices were reasonable for such deliciousness and the people were friendly. Personally, I'd like for them to have some better beverage cup options, because I like to wash my sandwich down with a massive Diet Coke, but that small flaw can be overlooked. Bottom line: go to there.

  • Sarah H.

Went to this place for the first time today and my only complaint is that it's not closer to my house. I live in Denver but I would make that drive every weekend for those sandwiches. I had a salmon and wasabi aioli sandwich they had on special today and it was the most delicious sandwich I've ever eaten. And the staff was super nice and friendly too. I can't wait to come back again.

I love a good sandwich shop and this one was highly rated so on our way to the Coors Brewery tour we stopped by. It was a holiday weekend so I'm guessing that was the issue but they were using grocery store French bread because of some unclear debacle with their bakery. Right after we ordered they ran out of bread. If I were the people behind us I would have been furious after waiting about 20 minutes in line without any fan or AC. However, the menu was great, and the sandwich fixings were high quality. I think this place is probably fantastic and we caught it on an off day.

My girlfriend and I just stumbled by here the other day and ended up having two of the best sandwiches we've ever had in our lives. So much variety, awesome prices and cool staff. A little crowded for seating but that tends to be the case with popular places. Don't let a long line deter you either, it moves fast. Going back tomorrow before we head back to Chicago, sure to be a mandatory stop next time we are in town.

Best sandwich I have EVER eaten. I don't love meat, but veggie sandwiches are always pretty flavorless. Not the Bellanini, though. This sandwich changed my life (in that I can now enjoy sandwiches along with the rest of the world despite not liking meat). My husband loves the Firecracker. I have a feeling that every single sandwich on their menu is amazing, though. It's hard to bring myself to try new ones, though, when our favorites are SO good. Clearly the secret is out-- there is often a long line at peak hours.

This place is legit. Worth the long line wait. Very good bread and great ingredients. They don't just make plain sandwiches. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

This place is sooooooo yummy!!! I always order the Bellini!! Its a bit on the pricey side but so worth it!!! Their food is high quality, the restaurant has a charming atmosphere and the staff is super friendly!! Every time im in downtown Golden I am sure to make a stop here!!

5 stars because this is my favorite place to get lunch in Golden. If anyone is visiting me from out of town, this is where I take them. They have so many different sandwiches to try, I've made it my goal to try all of them, even the ones that sound a bit strange... The bread here is soft and freshly baked and I love the flavor. Not to mention, their meats are delicious and cut thin, just the way I like it. They usually don't skimp on the meat and add a nice healthy portion of it to their sandwiches. I typically get the whole sandwich instead of the half because it's only $2 extra and I can save the other half for another meal. I have never been disappointed with any of their sandwiches but some of favorites are: Firecracker - the horseradish aioli is the perfect addition to their roast beef. Add a little bit of jalepenos for kick and you have yourself a great sandwich Big Boy - It's worth it to try this sandwich at least once, even if it does put a dent in your pocket. The sweet baked beans mixed with coleslaw and elk, YUM! Dalton - Good if you're in the mood for a panini style sandwich and pesto/basil Beef and reef - Sounds a bit weird but their seafood salad mixed with roast beef and honey dijon is a winning combo The people working are usually really friendly and fun to talk to. I try to go at least once a week!

Great sandwich place! Seating arrangements are strange and lead to problems when the restaurant is crowded. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and needless to say I was not disappointed. They have fresh bread and really top quality ingredients. A must see if your in Golden.

As my friend says, "You can't go back to Subway after having these sandwiches!" She's right. This sandwich deli makes me wonder and sigh about why hasn't anyone else thought of these crazy flavor combinations before? The flavors are so wacky, that amazingly -- they work!!! For example, my faves: The Knuckle Sandwich: prime rib, bacon, artichoke dip, cayenne honey, jalapenos. The Golden Rack: elk, goat cheese cream cheese, dijon, mint, basil, blackberry chutney, mixed greens, balsamic. Crazy flavors, right?? Here is their menu: ddeligolden.com/wp-conte… I think these sandwiches are the best ones I've had in recent memory. The artisan bread for the sandwiches were so good too! Now, I wonder when I get to go back to Golden, CO or how to make these at home!

If you order a sandwich here with horseradish, and the sandwich maker warns you that the horseradish is pretty...erm...horseradishy, for the love of god, listen to his/her advice and go light! I didn't, and I was glad I was outside and wearing sunglasses, because my eyes were watering. D'Deli has a HUGE menu with a lot of interesting proteins, toppings, and sauces. I ordered "The Undertaker" which came with the aforementioned horseradish, pickled beets, pickled ginger, jicama, smoked gouda, a teriyaki type sauce, and spinach. It tasted like a sushi roll between bread and had a great range of textures. Delicious. But seriously, beware the potent horseradish. You have the option of building your own, and while this sounds like a great idea, I probably wouldn't recommend it. I checked out their menu the day before and the list of toppings was so overwhelming, I gave myself a headache. Just stick with the premade options (of which there are plenty) and maybe request a substitution or two if you don't see something you like. They also offered up brownies to the newbies (which we were all were). Ask for a newbie brownie.

D'deli (pronounced "dee deli") is probably the BEST sandwich shop I've ever been to. The bread they use here is just phenomenal. WORD OF WARNING: If you go during lunchtime 12-1PM, you're going to have to wait about 15-20 minutes for a sandwich. They're THAT popular. I usually go right when they open at 11AM or around 2PM. As a CSM (Colorado School of Mines) student, I'm setting my own personal goal of trying each of their sandwiches (minus the specialty salmon/ribeye/buffalo/elk sandwiches) at least once by the time I graduate. You really can't go wrong here. A lot of people do the "make your own" sandwich, but they've some really awesome combinations on their menu. To date I've tried (in order of most to least favorite): 1) Dalton, 2) Bellanini, 3) Italian, 4) Big Baller, 5) Aspen Buddha, and 6) Bahn Mi Obviously, I have a huge preference for the cured meats, but whatever your fancy, they've got it. D'deli is everything a local sandwich shop should be. PRO TIP: I always order the half-size because the portions are quite large. Unless you have the appetite of a 17 year old football player, the half is plenty! PRO TIP: [CSM] students get a 10% discount so bring your ID!

Sammiches . . . oh how I love thee. When it was decided to stop for a sammich (something far elevated above the lowly and pedestrian sandwich) at D'deli (before the official start of the Golden Brews Cruise), my pulse raced, and my salivary glands placed themselves on high alert. Having heard tales of the monster-sized culinary concoctions here, I was excited to partake. My Buff Reuben (Grilled Panini Style, Corned Buffalo, Swiss Cheese, Thousand Island Dressing, and Sour Kraut) did not disappoint. Although the line was more that out the door on this fine day, and although the price was a tad high and the wait was a bit long, it was ever so worth the effort. This sammich was one of the better examples of its kind I have had in recent times. Although it was not a traditional Reuben, the flavors were rock solid and it was uber-filling. When Mr. counter guy asked "spicy?", I responded "medium spicy" and the sammich-artist added just the right amount of scorchy-stuff to keep your palate from becoming numb from the mounds of meat and cheese. Not cheap, but very nice, extremely popular, and it is easy to see why.

Wait in line and get the best subs around, it is worth it. Makes Jimmy John's and Subway cower in fear and submission. I have gotten the Baller and the Italian and they are both great.

This place was delicious! Husband and I shared a foot long Dalton . The bread was perfectly crusted. Toasted just right. Ingredients were basil garlic aoli, pepperoni, tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh basil. Sooo good. They even cut and split in two baskets. We shared the green chili soup also. Wahoo! Spicy but oh so good. Would definitely recommend and return back. Staff was polite.

I had no idea this place was here. My husband recommended it, and I'm thinking (as someone who doesn't eat meat), 'Great... another "deli" where I can get some veggies on bread - woo hoo.' Turns out, this place is not only a deli, but they are sandwich MASTERS. Their menu is SO extensive, the long line is barely enough time to figure out what all they offer. They have combinations I would never even dream of, but somehow they seem to work! I didn't see anything on the menu that struck me, so I thought, 'I'll see if they'll do a basic caprese sandwich. That's pretty simple.' I got up to the counter, and started my order, and to my surprise, the sandwich master behind the counter kept suggesting things for my sandwich that made it even more amazing. He definitely knew his combinations. I don't know how much it was, because my friend took care of me that day, but boy I enjoyed the heck out of it. If you haven't been here, go here. If you have been here, keep going here. It's pretty darn incredible.

I came here after a Coors brewery tour after seeing all the great reviews here. Yelpers did not disappoint! I had half of the Aspen Buddha sandwich and the flavors were great. Their bread is light and the veggies were fresh. No wait, reasonable prices, and the food was ready in just a few minutes. Everything I could possibly want from a quick sub shop and I definitely plan to be back when I'm in Golden.

Really good sammies! We had the banh mi and the prime time--both delicious! I wish I had tried the corned buffalo, we had a sample and it was really good. Next time I'll get a pressed sandwich. This place is the perfect stop after you do the Coors brewery tour-- a cute street with shops, starbucks, and d'deli!

You can go wrong with any sandwich at D'deli. The sandwich on the menu is the lady legg

  • Chris L.

THE most delicious Reuben sandwich ever. Of course, since I only eat meat when it's Bison, this is the only Reuben I ever eat, but why would I need any other Reuben when this is plainly the best? That could have everything to do with the fact that D'Deli makes theirs from smoked Bison from Edward's Meats, which is the best meat market in the Denver metro area. The way they grill the sandwich is perfect, too, because you get the tasty homemade bready part on the inside and the perfect toasty part on the outside. It's something I crave now and make a point to have one at least once every week.

They have really creative sandwiches. I got the turkey special with a delicious pumpkin hash. The meat is really thinly sliced so they're tender. I wish they had more freshly baked bread or more bread varieties, though. All in all, friendly and fast service, yummy sandwiches that won't break the bank. What's not to like?

I absolutely love the oxford. The thin slice of the buffalo, the blue cheese aioli, and the balance with the mixed greens and other ingredients makes it my favorite and packed with flavor. Unique sandwiches for sure and a lot of the usual recipes for the not so daring. The menu is long enough and covers all bases to keep almost everyone satisfied. Everyone should try at least one of their premium sandwiches, they cost a bit more but are well worth it. Expect a line out the door. The shop itself like the others in downtown is a tad small so there's little seating inside and outside. The sides aren't anything particularly noteworthy - bagged chips, fruit, soup, etc. They do serve bottled Rocky Mountain soda. Whether you get a half or a whole sandwich, it can be filling. I suggest you get the whole as it's a better deal for your dollar. This place is well above your average deli for sure. I highly recommend it.

Hmm... what to say? I feel like an outcast since I can only give this place a three star, but hey: It's the truth and the whole truth ... based on my experience anyway .. It seems that the locals truly enjoy this place. So, as a tourist, we decided to give it a try, and honestly, it was a big let down for me. I have honestly have had something much more better than this... and we ordered a $15 sandwhich! Something with bison ... and i just couldnt understand the rave because the bread was sub par, the ingredients were the usual lettuce etc., and I found the two young guys working there to be a bit rude. They may just have been joking around when they yell at you and say " come on dude make up your mind " ... but uhm, uh ... i didnt find it charming. They have a small soda machine which they also over charge for and an almost non existing seating area. The place is good, don't get me wrong, but the way people rave about this place? I almost cannot believe it. I am still baffled by it.

Visited either December 2012 or Jan.2013 So I really wanted Asian food the day I came here. There was a Thai restaurant around the corner but my auntie isn't a big Thai food fan. She heard about this place on yelp and I decided to give it a try. I'm so happy I did! I ordered the banano on wheat and I still make the sandwich today!!! I have the sandwich memorized and tell everyone about it. This place knows what they're doing. No regrets about not getting Thai food and that's coming from a girl who chooses rice over bread every time.

It's just...I mean...I have...there are no words to describe how much I loved my meal at D'Deli. I do not hesitate to say it (the Bellanini) was the best sandwich I've had in my ENTIRE LIFE. Seriously. Fresh baked wheat bread with artichokes, mushrooms, balsamic vinegar on the side, and other stuff that I can't even think of because my head is still spinning from the deliciousness? The worst part is that after I ordered, I saw ten other sandwiches on their menu of like a million that I wanted, too. Bummer that we were only in Golden for the one day, otherwise I would have insisted on coming here every day for lunch. It was a huge sandwich for what I think was a decent price (we had a "Golden Ticket" from our tour at Coors, so we had a solid discount). The staff was friendly and the service was quick. The seating area is small, but that's ok - the sandwiches are so good that people will scarf them down in 5 minutes and you can get a seat. Seriously. GO HERE, and be amazed.

  • Jolene C.

As plenty of people have noted, the food is delicious. There's lots of creative things on the menu. Even the pickiest kid can find something to eat. You'll often see a line going out the door on a weekend. But the seating is terribly inadequate. You might as well get your sandwiches to go and just cop a squat at a park or go home. It's a little sad. I'd like to eat here more often, but my kids are too uncoordinated to try to eat standing up.

I've lived in Golden for 12 years and this is only the 2nd time I've stopped in. Why? I DON'T KNOW! I had the most delicious Bellanini (vegetarian) Panini. I didn't really want a Panini, but the ingredients sounded good (minus the olive tapenade). So I thought what the heck, I'll try something different, and the guy suggested adding some hot peppers, I said sure! I got home and was only going to eat 1/2 of my 1/2, but I couldn't stop eating it, it was that awesome. Like another reviewer said, it was the best sandwich I've ever eaten! I'm now looking forward to stopping in at LEAST twice a month. My husband loved his - it was the special of the day, so I don't recall what was on it. He would definitely return too. (I should mention that I found a 30% off coupon in our Val-u-ads mailer, which is what 'reminded' me to go try it out)

This place is worth the raves. D'deli offers a variety of interesting sandwiches. My husband got the Reuben, spicy, which was served panini style. It was delicious: melted swiss cheese, spicy sriracha sauce, sauerkraut and a boatload of really good corned beef. I had a turkey sandwich with cranberries, pecans, cream cheese, cucumbers, sprouts and tomatoes --- and though it wasn't as good a sandwich as my husband's, it was certainly very good. We arrived at about 11:30, and it was just in time. Shortly thereafter a crowd appeared and there was a line for the remainder of our meal. This place is popular and there's good reason for it. Yum.

This place is pretty unique and gives you a solid sandwich at an okay price. The whole experience was a little intimidating...the menu is insanely huge and complicated looking and the guys behind the counter look kind of tough. Turns out, they were really friendly and I'm just a huge wiener.

D'deli is Delicious! Most extensive menu I've seen in a deli. The meat is high quality, lean, and fresh. Love how thinly shaved it is. All the veggies are fresh and full of flavor. Choose a unique option off the menu or create your own. The kids meals come in a colorful plastic pail. Even when the line is out the door it moves fast. The only downside is the limited seating.

All these mofos weren't kidding when they said this place rocks. It was bomb! Best sandwich I've had in Colorado so far... I'm not sure it can be topped honestly. We got 2 whole sandwiches, a drink and chips for $18. My bf got the Italian & I got the Golden Club with Smoked Gouda Cheese and Bleu Cheese Aioli with spinach and mushrooms and feta. Best Sandwich ever! I'm so glad we decided to NOT eat at the other place we stopped at! I've never even seen another sandwich place that offered smoked gouda or bleu cheese aioli. Places need to take note and get on that. They have some crazy sandwiches here too with peanut butter and other stuff, so I'm sure I'll be back to try those. Thanks for being bomb D'deli!

Where to eat before going to the Coors tour?! Well this little deli was such a great choice! I came here after seeing 4.5 stars on yelp and thought that I must try it. They have a LARGE selection of sandwiches, of all different sorts, it was near impossible to try to figure out what type of sandwich I wanted! I finally decided to go with the corned buffalo, just to try it because everyone was raving about it and it seemed so yummy. They do have specials of the day that also toyed with me, but I decided to go with the Oxford. It was super yummy! I love that they put spiced peppers in, which weren't that spicy and added a nice little kick to the flavor. I was sorta sad that they didn't have a soup of the day that day, but it turned out great because a whole sandwich filled me up good. If I'm ever back in Golden, I hope to try more of their delicious concoctions!

There is definitely a reason this place was voted tops in Golden! The toughest decision it really what to order since the sandwich menu is pretty extensive. I went with the sandwich of the day- Calamity Jane. It is Lebanon Bologna, gun powder mustard, peach bourbon chutney, wild west slaw, red and jalapeno peppers. I don't know how many of these ingredients are made up but the combination was absolutely fantastic. I thought, first and foremost, that the quality of meat was second to none. They did a good job balancing out the ingredients so not one overwhelmed the sandwich (I feared that maybe it'd be too sweet with the chutney). Finally, the bread was fresh and absolutely perfect for a sandwich with a crispy crust. It's definitely a great reward after a bike ride from Denver!

Good for something different, if looking for a yummy lunch in Golden. The bread is freshly made, your choice of white or wheat. The menu extensive. We had the Oxford and the Frontier, both made with corned Buffalo. Now I've never had corned Buffalo before, and it was probably the best lunch meat I have had in a long time. Not too gamey, with a slight toughness. It was delish. They also don't overload with sauce. It's just enough to get the flavor in each bite, but not too much to make a mess. The soup, chicken noodle, was also ridiculously good. Soft noodles, chunky chicken, almost creamy broth. Yum. 4 stars because it's really expensive for a whole sandwich. Though, I assume this is because of the expensive ingredients. The store was tiny, but adds to the charm. We sat outside, just before it started to rain. Also, the guys working there were very nice. Good service. ^_^ YUM.

Um. What? No really. What? What is happening at this place. What are these ingredients? Who are these people that work there? Who came up with these sammich ideas? No really...WTF?!?!? We arrive at about 3pm on a Sunday. I guess this is when everyone eats lunch in Golden. Anyhooooo....after staring at the menu and partially going blind, I decided on the Fire Cracker which was roast beef, pepper jack cheese, horseradish ranch, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, roasted red peppers and jalapenos. When I ordered, the sammich maker said "we're out of roast beef, is prime rib ok?" I answered "You don't have to ask for approval if you can use prime rib on my sammich, just do it!" He laughed. This sandwich, for lack of better words was borderline insane/crazy epic!!! Spicy. Delicious. FRESH. Unfortunately I ended up throwing some away...um, I mean...I ate it all!!! There is seriously something for everyone. Veggie sandwiches, meaty sandwiches, kiddie sandwiches. The workers are friendly and move quickly....they have to since people eat lunch all day long. Come to Texas. Please, I mean it....you can move into my kitchen. Super, thanks.

Amazing quality, quick service, friendly employees ... D stands for delicious. I had the Bonh Mi, 4/5; shaved pork, carrots, cucumber, little bit of lettuce, green onion, teriyaki, some type of garlic chili mayo, on really chewy white bread. The bread is fantastic, pork tender juicy, and most importantly perfect mixture of meat, veggie, sauce for a near perfect sandwich! Friend ate the Italian rated 4.5/5, 'little to much meat.' Beef barley soup, 'egh, just normal deli soup. Kind of tasted like tomato soup with some stuff in it.' Complaint just a little pricy but it would be a great place for a first date.

This place is fantastic! Took my dad and girlfriend here and the choices are a bit overwhelming but all three of our sandwiches were really good and original. We got the Frontier, the Knuckler, and the Gold Hill. There was a bit of a line, but it moved fast and gave us time to pick something. The food came out fast as well.

    (5)
  • Brian A.

There's a reason the line is almost always out the door. You can't go wrong here on anything. They have some great menu options but you can always build your own. The large is pretty big, consider a small if you're not starving. This is a very diverse menu. Hey it's Golden, It's Colorado, of course there's elk and bison on it. Kids meals come in a bucket with a shovel so grab your lunch and head to Clear Creek and do some 'beach' digging or try your hand a gold panning :-) Bottom Line: Just go, you'll be glad you did!!

On vacation after a visit to the Coors plant, we walked around for a while and decided to get a very light lunch. A few blocks from Coors, we found this cute little (local) sandwich shop and decided to give it a go and split a sandwich & chips. Eating outside in the spring sunshine of Colorado in the beautiful weather was as enjoyable as the sandwich. No complaints - it fit the bill nicely and was tasty. If were were ever in Golden for a longer stay, we'd probably get a bigger meal there.

  • LT K.

Based on the reviews, I just had to check it out after my Coors tour. I could decided what I wanted so I opted for a custom sandwich: Smoked corned buffalo (shouldn't they call it pastrami? which is smoked version of corned?), cole slaw, pickle, jalapenos and horseradish ranch with whole wheat bread. It was tasty but not enough for wow. There is not enough meat or cole slaw. The bread was three times thicker than what was inside.

After an 8-mile hike, I was more than ready to get my sandwichin' on. Fortunately D'deli was open on Memorial Day, so I popped in for a lunchtime caloric splurge. I ordered the Bellanini - a vegetarian concoction piled high with sliced mozzarella, feta, olive tapenade, roasted peppers, spinach, baby bellas and more, grilled between your choice of sub bread. This sandwich was darn good, if not a bit excessive. Had I not just hiked my butt off, I probably would have felt sick after devouring a full sized sandwich like this...but I nearly licked the paper when I was done. The only criticism I had about the sandwich is that an excess of mayo, oil and cheese on a grilled sandwich makes for a sloppy good time...so I'd probably trim down the mayo next time. Seating is limited in the restaurant, but you could always luck out and grab a chair outside on a nice day. And warning to the indecisive - there is only one chalkboard menu on the left side of the restaurant when you walk in...there are a ton of choices and you may be rushed in line. D'Deli would be wise to have printed menus to look at while you stand in line, but you could always do your homework on their website first.

Worth the wait! Best sandwiches in Colorado, unique flavors and good old run of the mill sandwiches that we all know and love. The ingredients are fresh and the bread is worth every gluten filled bite. We all order whole sandwiches for lunch and save half for dinner!

so damn good, love several of their signature sammys. no complaints. great place on a sunny day to eat outside on sidewalk. sometimes lines can be longer but move fast and worth wait sometimes seating is at a premium as well but again this should not be a factor in eating there just be aware

This place is a class act! Aside from having a great product, they have a great staff/owner. My girlfriend and I waited in line for about 20 min (well worth the wait). She was a little overwhelmed by the size of the menu. The gentleman behind the counter took the time to not only help her decide, but took the time to make her 2 sandwiches in one. I was concerned about the line behind us and the time she was taking up and he turned around and said "don't worry about that". Great place! I had a roast beef and gouda which was great. My girlfriend had smoked salmon on one half and turkey and cream cheese on the other. We will be back for sure! Why would Jimmy John's next door even TRY to compete with D'Deli?!

  • Carrie R.

Oh man, this place makes me want to move to Golden and embrace a life of daily sandwich-eating. Stopped in here for some sustenance after a hike and was blown away by, a) the size of the menu, b) the eclectic ingredients (looking at you, Jackwagon) and artful combinations, and c) the deliciousness of the food. We split a Bellanini and a Corned Buffalo Reuben, and both are now in my top 5 desert island sandwiches. Prices are fair for what you get. Atmosphere is good, though the space is tiny. Sidewalk seating if you can get it. Big portions. I've got my eye on a few more sandwiches so I'll be back, soon as I'm hungry again...

Where else can you get a massive elk sammich or a PB&J that will put your grandma's PB&J to shame? No where. This place is awesome. It is becoming a weekly tradition to get a sammy at this place. My wife typically opts for the salads were are always huge! The price is great and you get an ample amount of food that is always fresh. Sometimes the line that extends onto the sidewalk can be discouraging but do not fret, it will be worth the wait.

The wait for lunch on the weekends is always out the door, but it's worth the wait! The sandwiches are incredible and large! The staff is really friendly. They put basil aioli on my sandwich when I asked for it without. I said well, maybe it's ok, I'll give it a try...and was just going to suck it up and eat it (I HATE any kind of mayo), but he made me a new one. He also let me keep the one with mayo so I could try it for next time.

Funky menu. Fantastic sandwiches. My daughter and I split The Heater, my son had the Piggly Wiggly, and my husband had The Gold Hill. An all around great experience!

This sanwich place is so worth waiting in the line that was out the door. There are tables inside but very crowed with people waiting in line so i recommend get it to go and eat it at a table outside there are plenty along the street and a great little town. There are so many choices and strange combos that are amazing, we had the buffalo and prime rib shaved very thin so delicious. The best part is the bread us divine all subs need a good bread. Then the toppings and different spreads are so great. Besides all the normal veggies they had craisins crushed praline pecans and im telling you both of those are fantastic on any sandwich, we are actually going back by to get our sandwiches for the plane ride home it is 10 miles out of our way but we can not keave without another sandwich experience heaven i tell ya.

Somebody here is doing things right. Seriously quality ingredients at a fantastic price. The menu is gigantic and full of variety. The sandwiches are clearly created by somebody who has either a deep knowledge of flavor profiles or a natural ability to create fantastic combinations of flavors. I tried the the "Aspen Buddha" (on wheat) which was turkey, swiss, curry aioli, sunflower seeds, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, banana peppers, and cucumbers. Seriously amazing. There were about 15 different sandwiches I wanted to try so I will definitely be back to Golden just for this place. The service was quick and impeccable despite how the line was literally out the door and into the sidewalk. Clearly knowledgeable staff were friendly and conversational while making your sandwich. Would love to see this place offer an inventive cole slaw as a side option! If you are in Golden, CO. Go here. I don't care if you are looking for something "nicer" the food here will change your mind. Unless you are part of the 0.05% of people who don't like sandwiches!

Visited for the first time, and was at first a bit daunted by the small, crowded interior and the line that went out the door, but decided to brave it. Very happy we did! The menu is E.NOR.MOUS with food combinations that blew my mind. Yet they continue to be incredibly popular not only locally, but worldwide. Rather than try one of their signature sandwiches, I went a slightly different route and decided a "build your own" version of a sandwich I used to enjoy at the New York Deli in Boulder. Turkey breast, swiss cheese and onions with authentic cole slaw and Thousand Island Dressing. The whole grain roll was delicious, the sandwich expertly made, and they gave me a free brownie for being a first time visitor. The staff was engaging, friendly, professional and quite knowledgeable about their products, and we were served in no time. Well worth the visit! I'm a fan.

I've waited a long, long time to review D'Deli. Every time I go I think "I need another visit to really cement how i feel." At this point I don't think 100 visits is really going to get many any more confident in my review. Overall, this is probably the best traditional lunch option we have in Golden, and definitely the best sandwiches. The best things about this place are the variety, the very high ingredient quality, and their flexibility. The bread is excellent and freshly made, and they have a wide variety of toppings, with many that they have on hand for a single sandwich option. There are probably 20 suggested sandwiches on a board for customers to choose from, but you can also make your own for the same price. They have meats anywhere from chicken to bison pastrami (extra money, though). Despite their very wide menu, none of it really ever appeals to me, so I normally get their greek sandwich, which is really just the same as any other greek sandwich. My main issues with D'Deli is that it is on the high side of pricing, but again the ingredients are very high quality. It is extremely tiny inside, with room for about 8 people to sit down. If the weather is nice you can sit outside, but otherwise, you should plan to take your sandwich to go. Also, I get the feeling that most of the employees are children of hte owner, especially one girl who mans the cash register. She has an incredibly awful attitude, and seems to be working every time I go. While some other employees are a little gruff, they are still really accommodating. My experiences with the cashier have always been extremely poor. However, I'm just glad she's not the one making my sandwich. Because the sandwiches are good, and that's most important.

I am kind of a food snob, so if you want a deliciogasm, go here. The combinations are out of this world! I recommend the corned buffalo with bleu cheese spread. Friendly staff too! Oh, and try not to be a pain in @** like me and stand in the door trying to figure out what you want, because I'm sure the line will go out the door. Get your sandwich, and head north, and sit at a picnic table by the river, watch the kayakers or people with their dogs swimming, or just relax and let the sounds show you what makes this city a gem!

D'lish! Best sandwich I've ever had, hands down.

Yum! The sandwiches here are really good. They're a bit on the expensive side, but it is worth it. Ingredients are fresh and the aiolis, dressings and such taste like they are homemade. What I like the most about D'Deli is the vast menu. Of course, you can build your own sandwich, but they have some incredible combinations that you're unlikely to come up with. I had the Oxford last time I was there, and I like it quite a bit. I'd never had corned buffalo, and it was pretty good. I liked the blue cheese aioli: you could taste it and it went well with the other items, but it wasn't overwhelming at all. My girlfriend had the Piggly Wiggly or something like that, and it was very good. She was nervous about having salsa in a sandwich, but it turned out to be really good. They also have "seasonal" sandwiches, daily specials and so on. Keep in mind that even though this is a sandwich shop, it is nothing like subway or quiznos. The food is prepared fast, but I wouldn't consider this a fast-food place. It can get pretty busy there, so I would avoid peak meal hours such as noon. And prepare to spend some time looking over the menu, as I said, it is HUGE, and every sandwich deserves consideration....

This is definitely THE place to grab some grub when in Golden. One of the best delis in Colorado by far. They have such a huge selection of sandwiches and toppings, that it can be a little overwhelming. You can also build your own, which can help with narrowing it down to exactly what you want. On my most recent trip I built my own with Salami, Capicola, smoked gouda, lettuce, sun dried tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, mayo, oil & balsamic vinegar. It was amazing. You can get your sammie pressed like a panini, but be aware that it takes an extra 5-7 minutes that way. Also, the line can get pretty long around noon, usually spilling out onto to the sidewalk. But don't let that deter you! It goes fast, and is well worth the wait!!

  • Meagan P.

Yummmm... So delicious. Totally worth the wait in the line.

Hands down this is the best sandwich shop in Colorado! Amazing Banh Mi sandwich, also try the Jackwagon (siracha, friend onions, peanut butter, jelly, jalapeños, and whole bunch of other stuff), amazing!

  • Scott S.

This is a great deli with a ton of sandwich offerings. They are pricier but I felt that I got my money's worth. A sign claimed that they were the best sandwich shop in the area (not sure if that was Golden, Jeffco, or Denver metro). Service was fast. The deli is small so I can imagine it getting packed during lunch (I was there around 3). I will definitely return.

  • Don R.

My new favorite sandwich spot. Grab a Jolly Olly or the Jackwagon (my favorites so far) and walk the two blocks down to the pathway along the Creek. Savor the unique blend of favors serenaded by the running water and a mountain view. I love how they put seemingly incompatible flavors together and make the tastes come at you in mouth watering waves. If you are anywhere close, gotta make the stop here. Dont fret if there's a line, the staff is friendly and efficient. You won't wait long and it may be the best sandwich you've had. Absolutely love it!

    (5)
  • Jaime B.

Still 5 stars but I had to update and say if you feel like you might want to try the the Jackwagon (Peanut Butter, Jelly, Honey, Sriracha Hot Sauce, Bacon, Fried Onions, Sun Flower Seeds, Pineapple, Jalapenos, and Banana Peppers) but think the combo is just too weird? Do it. Get one and eat it. I chose to skip the jalapenos and banana peppers (a texture thing) and asked for a little extra peanut butter, and it was literally the best sandwich I have ever had. EVER. The peanut butter is the main note here, followed closely by the jelly, and everything else kind of mixes together to create such a one-of-a-kind, delicious experience that I seriously can't wait to have another.

Best. Deli. Ever. Vacationed in Denver from Boston and stumbled upon this fabulous deli, and had the best corned buffalo sandwhich of all time. We flew back to Denver the following summer for a few day vacation and made SURE to make our way from Denver to Golden JUST to eat at D'Deli. Sandwhiches are so creative and have so many layers of taste! So many options its a little overwhelming, but so worth it! They have pretty much anything you can imagine, its so hard to choose!!!! The owner is also the nicest guy ever and they are super accomodating with alelrgies and substitutions. Basically you need to wait in the line out the door and eat here. It will go fast and you will have the happiest and fullest (they do NOT skip on size!) stomach in the world.

BEST SANDWICH IN DENVER. Amazing how packed this place is for a whole in the wall. All the sandwiches are great tons of fixings and the condiments are so different and awesome. The guy who owns the place is an absolute beauty.

While the line can be long during peak lunch hours, it is worth every minute. The Dalton is my favorite, but every time I have guests in town they get something else and are never disappointed.

If you're looking for a delicious, local, unique spot for lunch this is it! They have every ingredient you could imagine and even more that you never would think of! Lots of creative options and a great staff and reasonable prices. I got the aspen curry sandwich and it was amazing. Also tried their chili garlic aoli which was so flavorful. Awesome local spot

  • Patrick B.

Best sandwich place in the area. If you are in Golden. do yourself a favor and eat lunch here. The other options pale in comparison. Delicious bread cooked fresh, a wide selection of ingredients, and some creative house specialties that may sound odd, but make surprisingly good flavor combinations. Usually a line if you come right around noon, but it goes quickly. Great place to sit on the patio and enjoy a nice day. Great food and friendly service.

  • Rob B.

The only problem with D'Deli is deciding which of their amazing sandwiches to get. Many of them sound too mixed up & messed up to work but wow! just WOW!! Fortunately - from the crazy Jackwaggon to their subs with buffalo - you can't go wrong. (My sis is a vegetarian and loves the Gold Hill without the roast beef). Ingredients are always incredibly fresh, portions are big (come _really_ hungry if you're getting a full sub) and the owner Al sets the tone with remarkable service that's carried through by the rest of the staff. Not a ton of seating but there are plenty of benches and walls nearby. For a real treat, grab a sub to go, walk 2 blocks to Golden City Brewery and enjoy a great combo sitting outside staring at the foothills. Don't miss it!

Quite simply the best sandwich I've had in months. More complicatedly, my sandwich had corned buffalo. CORNED BUFFALO. It was delicious.

As a long-time Golden resident, I'm embarrassed to say I only recently visited D'deli for the first time. However it will NOT be the last. Extremely creative items on the menu and their attention to detail in preparation was amazing! The buffalo Reuben was awesome!! I will be back time and time again!!! Maybe tonight...

  • Rob R.

Best sandwiches I've ever had! I can't imagine ever finding a better sandwich shop in my lifetime. Friendly service, imaginative and large sandwiches, and a huge variety to choose from. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. The line is out the door from 1130 to 1 most days but it moves fairly fast.

  • Karen M.

Thanks, yelpers, for telling it like it is at D'deli. A locally-owned deli with charm and great service! Their ingredients are fresh and high-quality and the bread really makes their sandwiches stand out! I really appreciated how easy the owner, Al, made it for me on a recent large take-out order. I ordered bag lunches for a retreat over at Jefferson County fairgrounds. Simple as 1,2,3: everything was freshly made, bagged and ready for me to go. I like that. If you are planning a picnic at the fairgrounds, need a sandwich for a day hike or are planning a meeting in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to swing on by to D'deli for the eats.

This is the best sandwich shop I've been to in a looong time! The food is amazing the service is fast. I just wish the prices weren't so high, but in this case you definitely get what you paid for. Just don't blink as your walking by, you'll miss it; this place is tiny!

  • Owl R.

Local, on the main street of Golden, this place always has a line out the door. I went last week on a Wednesday afternoon. They have a great selection of sandwiches 15+ or so, or you can make you own as well. Premium ingredients like arugula, chipotle aeoli, and even smoked buffalo. Also, 10% discount for Mines students!

  • Diane K.

You don't get consistently ranked the top sandwich restaurant in town without being the best sandwich restaurant in town. I LOVE Golden. I love that Golden has an adorable downtown with local and unique shops. D'deli is the epitome of this. The sandwich selection is extensive and intriguing. I wanted to try everything! I tasted a bite of my friends' sandwiches and was pleased with all the flavors. The service is also friendly and outgoing. All around great experience. Does it beat a Snarfs sandwich? No. Does it still deserve five stars? Yes.

It may have helped that we were really hungry. We were here today and had a wonderful deli sandwich, namely the Piggly Wiggly - with ham, bacon, guacamole, cream cheese, fried onions, salsa, sprouts, tomatoes. Everything was fresh and delicious. Also you can add all sorts of interesting ingredients like pickled beets, black olives and a brownie for dessert. Sandwich was big enough to share for the 2 of us. Bread was freshly baked wheat. Our bill for 2 sharing the one sandwich, dessert, and soda was $11. Jimmy Johns is 5 minutes away, but this place rocks and the choice between the two was easy. Don't miss it if you are in Golden!

    (5)
  • Aus B.

Top-notch. The service is always friendly. It does get pretty busy at lunch but it is worth the wait. The line does tend to go fast (unless a newbie is in front of you) too. You can either order off the menu or make up your own combination. If you are in Golden and want a true deli sandwich, head here. Good work D'deli

Ohmygosh. I am seriously in love with The Popeye sandwich. I wish i lived in Golden just so I could have it every day. It's often hard to find good veggie sandwiches. They're usually all the same, pretty boring. But The Popeye... it's on a whole other level. Spinach, artichoke hearts, cucumber, and provolone enclosed in a fresh roll slathered with olive tapenade, hummus, and pesto. I would have never put those last three together, but D'Deli obviously knows what they're doing -- it was FABULOUS. I've seen some comments here about it being expensive, but I don't think it was. If I remember correctly, my sandwich, chips & drink were about the same I pay for a Subway combo meal, and this was WAY better than Subway. Plus, the friendly, helpful service easily exceeds the service at Subway. I'm gonna try to replicate The Popeye at home. But I'm sure it won't be anywhere near as good as D'Deli's!

  • Ken S.

There are simply no sandwiches that are less than extraordinary on their menu. They clearly love what they do and are masters at mashing up unexpected flavorful delights. Whatever your mood, whatever your diet, whatever the weather, D'Deli has a sandwich for you. Healthful or decadent. . . The masters at D'Deli always deliver a great sandwich. Glad you guys are around.

This place is always busy probably because it's so good. I've had the buffalo chicken and turkey sandwiches, both are amazing. My hubby had the Elvis sandwich, not my cup of tea, but he liked it.

Golden Colorado. . . err . . . Golden, Colorado is a small town with a small but fun downtown. The food options are limited but this deli would feel right at home in cities like San Francisco. The menu is diverse in pre-designed sub choices with creative names. But really, you could create your own sandwich if you were so inclined. The quality of the toppings are all superb. Choose items of your preference and you can't go wrong. Really though, my Olympian was friggin delicious. One downer is that this place is expensive. There's a college nearby so I was hoping for more appropriate pricing but they're the only game in town and I suppose they know that. The line was very long so if the demand is still there, then I can't fault them too much for taking advantage and pricing accordingly. If you'll be in the area for a quick trip, then grab an inner-tube and float down Clear Creek. It ends in downtown where you can finish off the lazy day with one of these subs.

I think I could go here a million times and always get something different and always be happy! First off - while seeing all of these written on a chalkboard around the restaurant is impressive, I am grateful that they had menus at the door so you could take your time and really look things over. These are some crazy sandwiches, but you can tell right away the combinations were created by someone who knew what they were doing (and may be a little crazy...but it works!). While I was trying to decide, a friend pointed out The Jackwaggon - Peanut Butter, Jelly, Honey, Sriracha Hot Sauce, Bacon, Fried Onions, Sun Flower Seeds, Pineapple, Jalapenos, Banana Peppers. I thought it might be a little strange, but why not. This sandwich was SO GOOD. Just so satisfying. As I watched him PILE on the sriracha I thought this was going to be entirely too spicy. However, mixed with the peanut butter it became a fantastic sauce that was barely spicy but SO flavorful. I'll go ahead and say it. I'm pretty sure the Rain Man of Sandwiches owns this place. Whoever it is has a gift and I'm just sad that the rest of the world (aka me) can't go here every day to try all these great creations. Not fair, man. Not fair.

This is one of those local treasures that for someone coming from out-of-town like me feels blessed to enjoy, yet wishes you could bring it back home. The prices were on the mark... 1/2 sandwich with chips and a 16 oz fountain drink for $7.20? Or a whole sandwich for $7.20? Yes, please. For the fantastic selection that includes sandwiches like the Mauhi Wahi along with traditional ones like Italian... D'deli fits the bill and delivers.

Very good sandwiches. They used the right bread and had a large menu, not only with a good variety of ingredients but with many types of sauces. More then mustard/mayo type of sauces, which really impressed me. Both my husband's and my sandwich had very good flavor, texture and color with how they built the sandwich. However, I am giving them 3 stars to two reasons. One star was taken off because the staff was not friendly. They never thanked me for the patronage with words or with a simple smile. By the time we had our food, I felt like they wanted us to leave or that our arrival was a bit of a nuisance to them. I took off another star because of the seating. If you wanted to eat in the store, your choice was 3 tables piled together in a corner and scattered chairs. So you could not get in to sit unless you sat on the outside of the piled up tables. Basically one person took all 3 tables because he was reading a newspaper. So our choice was to eat outside. The tables open were in the sun with no umbrella and all the tables were dirty and had trash on them. The 2 guys inside watching us trying to find a place to sit never assisted with busing a table or re-arranging the seats inside the store so they could actually be used. There was not another customer in the store to keep them busy either. Basically a poor attitude with customer service is what kept this place from getting 5 stars.

We LOVE this place! I always get the sandwich called the "Heater." Everything always tastes so fresh and the staff is always so friendly. This is hands down the best sandwich shop around!

Awesome sandwiches! You can basically get whatever you want. I've tried the Jackwagon, Frontier, Bahn Mi, Olympian...pretty much all of them, but I love to create my own and even got "brownie" points for making a good sandwich. The owner gave me actual brownies, because he liked it so much. The only downside is that it is super popular, and you might have to wait 20 minutes during the lunch rush. But it is worth it! Or just go a little before 11am or after 2pm.

after passing by several sandwich shops, this deli shop was the only place that shouted 'i'm not a chain, i'm not a chain!'. sold. now this place reminds me of a coffee shop. it's homey, and the tables are asking to be used for studying. the use different colored chalk for menu items is always a nice touch. it passed for a family-owned establishment and for that i gave them business. anyhow, i ordered one of their specials, the T.M.I. [practically means too much good stuff in my terms]. now this sucker was loaded with grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, spicy cream cheese, tomatoes, ,japalenos, cilantro, onions, black beans and corn, green and red peppers, black olives, and a dash of salt of pepper. the fusion of all these ingredients made this an awesome sandwich. my only gripe, i'd say, is that the ingredients were probably subway quality. it'd been 5 stars otherwise.

OMG! I wish there was one in Portland! We were passing through town sightseeing and came across this little gem! I spent forever looking over the different options. I thought about creating my own with all of the different toppings/cheeses/sauces they had. Until I found my soulmate....I can't remember the name of the sandwich for the life of me, but it had: Peanut Butter Strawberry Jelly Honey Sunflower seeds Onion Straws Jalepenos Oh dear god, that was an amazing sandwich! Whoever made that one needs a hug! Please make more!!

  • Juli M.

Best sandwich shop in Golden, hands down. Jimmy John wishes he could dish out super-dank sandwiches like D'deli! A great option for vegetarians also; pretty much any vegetable imaginable is available to you. The bread is so delicious too: the perfect amount of crusty and soft. The ingredients are always fresh and tasty. I can't say much about the meat selection since I'm an herbivore, but I've come here countless times with my carnivorous friends and they have always had glowing reviews about their meals, too. You can either build your own sandwich (they don't charge per ingredient, so load up!), or choose from their wide selection of super-original specialty sandwiches. For vegetarians who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty: get the Bellanini (it's grilled panini-style). Although slightly messy, it is worth every napkin. Support local businesses and walk the extra half-block to D'deli, folks! You won't be disappointed.

This place totally just made my week! FINALLY, a veggie sandwich in Golden that is actually a veggie sandwich (and not just a condiment sandwich). Seriously. Real toppings. Go figure. And NEW real toppings that I'd never seen on a sandwich before. As a vegetarian I really thought I'd seen it all. Anyhow. Not only was my sandwich from d'deli d'lish, (with beets, and jicima, gouda and horseradish and some other goodies) The gal even took the time to point out the MANY veggie choices on the menu, and to check up on me during my meal to make sure I was enjoying it. They didn't complain when I had to use a cc for my measely sandwich. And the place has a great vibe. I'm sure I'll be back ( would tomorrow be too soon?) Thanks!

Fantastic sandwich spot! I returned here each day during my business trip. I tried different sandwiches and soups...they all were delightful. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The seating is somewhat limited - so not good for groups. I loved the location though - downtown Golden. I would definitely make this a must for lunch!

THE BEST SANDWICH SHOP EVER! I've been a loyal patron of this restaurant for years and have traveled a lot in those years, I've never found another sandwich shop that is its equal. Fresh ingredients, cozy atmosphere, and variety like you can hardly believe!

  • Aaron L.

Ah the sub shop, always a good one in need. I figured I would give this one a go for lunch since its somewhat close to where I work. Went for a custom roast beef with a hefty amount of toppings. All of the veggies looked delicious. The bread was even better, probably was what got me hooked! Sure, the prices are a bit high. But the quality of ingredients I think make it worth it. If you get the lunch special it was about $7 for a decent sized sub, chips and a drink.

My husband and I walk down to D'Deli every weekend for lunch. I love everything about this place: Locally owned, huge variety of fresh foods, at least 20 sauces/dressings, tasty and creative sandwich combinations I could never concoct, an owner who remembers me, Tejano music Sundays, etc. Yes, the inside is tiny and cramped. No, the sandwiches aren't as cheap as the crap you can get next door at Jimmy John's (shudder), but if you appreciate tasty food, who cares about those details? The sandwiches are DELICIOUS and the owner couldn't be happier to be making them for you. Where else can you get a sandwich with pickled ginger, loads of fresh veggies and a soy-sesame sauce, all served by Al who obviously loves owning and working at D'Deli? Mmmm!

D'Deli is possibly my favorite restaurant in Golden, and certainly my favorite sandwich shop. This is significant, as there are now four (4!) sandwich shops all within two blocks of each other in downtown Golden, including a Jimmy Johns and a Quiznos. But in terms of quality, D'Deli blows them all out of the water. When you walk in, you immediately notice the giant blackboard filled with sandwich ingredients and possibilities. You can either choose to make your own creation of epic proportions, or choose from one of their many pre-chosen sandwiches. These things are hefty, averaging something like 5 or 6 ingredients, plus sauces and possibly cheese. Personal favorites are the Heater (heavy on spicy bits like jalapenos, pastrami, banana peppers, and chipotle ranch), the Italian (heavy on the meat and cheese), or, if I feel like going vegetarian, the Greek (artichoke, cucumber, sun dried tomato, kalamata olive, spinach, feta, greek spices, and balsamic vinaigrette - and if I feel like being not so vegetarian I can add turkey for free). These sandwiches are huge, too - half of one is really enough for a meal, but I prefer to get a full one for not much more - if nothing else, I'll save it for dinner later! The prices reflect this though - they are probably the most expensive sandwich shop by a dollar or two - but honestly in my opinion it's more than worth it. Lastly, I like buying from them because I like supporting Golden businesses. The guys working are local and great to talk to, friendly personalities. The bread is brought in from a bakery in Wheat Ridge, I believe, and several other of their ingredients are fresh and local. Much better than giving my money to a chain like Quiznos or JJ.

I know im picky and being a vegetarian never ever helps this, Im still lucky to be alive. Before I went to D'deli I was expecting some some mediocre vegetarian special that I would not be totally happy with. Uh, I was wrong. I got the popeye (spinach, hummus, roasted garlic, shredded cucumber, kalmata olives and everything else that I love) on wheat. Everything was really fresh and tasty. Now when I think of a sandwich I think of the popeye and how strong my biceps have been since I ate it.

There is a reason this place is so highly rated. The grub was very good and plentiful and the price was good. The posole was spicy and tasty. It is really small so you may not be able to eat in house and the line was constant. Worth it for good food but really a value star.

Great sandwiches- TO GO. The food is very good but the ordering and dining experience can be unpleasant. Don't get me wrong, the guys are nice and the product is worth it. But standing in line feels like you are standing on top of people dining, then when you're done ordering, you can't get past the line and out the door. I don't want to be one of those people getting hovered over trying to eat my meal with someone's armpit in my face, so I recommend taking your sandwich to go. The good thing is, it seems like they are listening to what their customers have to say and may try to do something about dining in and space options. Plus, a beer with my sandwich on a hot day would be wonderful!

D'Deli is a standout among the five hundred sandwich restaurants within a two mile radius in Golden. Their bread is the best (you can buy it by the loaf, but be prepared to pay $5!) - it's a really nice chewy, crispy french bread that is really just amazing. It's a bit on the expensive side, but you have to remember that it's a very unique place that serves a lot of interesting combinations with fresh ingredients (although today I overheard the guy saying he wasn't sure he wanted to sell the fruit salad because he'd cut it 'a few days ago,' however long that is...). They offer soups and a variety of sides, as well as ice cream. It's a small place with a great vibe. Don't go here for the service... grab a sandwich and sit outside, then enjoy a great day in Golden!

My 3 sons and I went here before heading to Red Rocks to see My Morning Jacket on Saturday. Took our sandwiches in to that amazing venue and ate them up before the show. I had an Elk meat sandwich with raspberry chutney and an assortment of other goodies. Possibly the most decadently delicious sandwich I have ever had. They made a grilled cheese with ham for my picky youngest boy and he said it was awesome. I have no idea what the other older boys had as I was too involved in my own heavenly sandwich but they too were very happy with theirs. I hope I make it back to Colorado again, will make this a destination.

Terrific sandwiches: lots of inventive and interesting ones, all with fresh and high-quality ingredients. As I stand in line, I always find 3 or 4 that all call out to me! Fun and friendly staff. One thing I didn't see mentioned in other reviews are their soups. Usually a selection of three, all homemade, I've never had a bad one. If it's midday and I'm downtown, this is where I go!

If you enjoy good food and great service then this is your place. If you don't then you should come here anyways because once you have had a taste of this place you will enjoy it and expect it from every sandwich shop you go to. Seven days a week this place produces the best sandwiches west of Masterpiece Delicatessen. You will not find one better in town, the line is there for a reason. I personally love the Buffalo Ruben with added Sriracha, OH BABY!

Really like this place. Get a creative sandwich for a good price. It was warm outside, so we were able to eat at a table just outside the shop. I imagine when it is cold out, it could get a little cramped inside.

I was getting to be quite a sandwich eater for awhile last year. Went here and almost freaked at the price of my sandwich. If I remember, lunch was around $10 with chips and a drink. But considering that they get their bread fresh from a local bakery, the meats and cheeses were tasty and abundant, and that they had a crap load of choices as far as toppings, and that they didn't even give me a hard time for all of the stuff I had them add to my sandwich, and the fact that the thing was so damn huge that it amounted to two separate meals for me, the price wasn't really all that bad. Around that time, the only thing I was eating was sammiches...and this one was my favorite for a long time.

The very first restaurant I ever visited in Golden (over 20 years ago) was this place. It was called Joyce's Subs and had stuffed wild animal heads on its walls. It was as red-neck as Golden was back then and the only game in town for something other than buckets of grease at Buffalo/Ken-roses. So it's totally different now, all contemporary and with a modern menu. Great creative flavor combinations and I love the bread. The service was funky and friendly, the meat amounts plentiful, and the veggies looked and tasted fresh. A little on the expensive side, but I felt I got what I paid for.

Me and some friends stumbled upon D'Deli after some sight seeing around Golden... and couldn't stop raving about it for days! It's a hard decision when reading the chalk boards at the counter. There are so many delicious sounding options with all kinds of unique combinations. I settled on the Bahn-Mi, a sliced pork sandwich with a spicy aioli, cucumbers, cilantro, jalapenos, green onions, mixed greens, and teriyaki sauce. It was like nothing I've ever had before! My friends loved their roast beef sandwiches. They were both specials and one had a blue cheese spread, beats, jicama and more and the other one had a spicy horseradish sauce. The ingredients were all fresh and the bread was crispy and delicious. If you like trying new things... head here!

Awesome place to grab a killer deli sammich in Golden. There aren't many places to get good food in Golden but this little deli is a gem right on main street. Can be a little bit of a wait for warm sandwiches but it's worth every minute. High quality ingredients & an excellent array of sandwiches to choose from!

This little sub shop in Golden makes excellent sandwiches and does so with very friendly service. They use fresh bread and ingredients to make a wide variety of choices. I have had the Golden Club, Buffalo Chicken Wing and Buffalo Ruben (made with corned buffalo) over various trips there and each time the sandwich was awesome. The employees are generally smiling and make you feel very welcome. Of all the sandwich places in Golden this is the best.

  • Thomas C.

Awesome place. Prices are a bit high for one person but 1 sandwich is more than enough for 2. There selections and varieties are epic. The food was fresh and the bread was very good. The menu had so many different options from buffalo to turkey. Overall a fun atmosphere and great food.

Fantastic sandwiches, friendly service. Plus, a FREE BROWNIE if it is your first visit..and a delicious one at that!

The place is small, so get your sammie to go and sit by the river. The selection is fab. If you are a veggie you will go nuts. I moved to Co based on this place and GCB. The staff is cool and never judges you on what you order. You can order off the menu or make your own. The selection is incredible.

Great sandwich, I love piling on all sorts of veggies. They get their hummus from Ali Baba's too, which is awesome. Yes, Al is a Raiders fan. And I did boycott D'Deli for a couple days after the Raiders beat the Broncos... but then I couldn't help myself from going back. It is a little expensive, but I say worth it -- forego the chips and drink (ask for a cup for water) and it's not so bad. There is an unadvertised 10% discount for school of mInes students.

D'deli is always fresh, always friendly, and a fun place to visit. It's a small shop with very few seats, but try the patio on nice days. The bread is always soft and fresh, the ingredients are always fresh, and I like being able to watch what goes into my sandwich. Their selection is endless between bread choices, condiment choices, meats and cheeses as well as other stuffings for your sub. And you've got to try their brownies. My signature sub? Roast beef on wheat with horseradish sauce and spicy mustard, provolone cheese, marinated artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, and sliced banana peppers. Very strange but so yummy.

I'm not a big fan of the chain deli sandwiches (quiznos, subway, etc), so I'm glad D'Deli is close enough to eat at. The bread is my favorite part. My two fav sandwiches are chicken salad on wheat with cucumbers and gouda cheese, or the blaster (honey bbq chicken, pickles, cheddar cheese, and onions). The staff is friendly and the food is awesome. It's a little crowded inside the place, so it's not very convenient if you have more than 2-3 people in your group and you want to stay and eat. Oh yeah, and their sandwiches are good luck. :) I was a college athlete, and I ate from D'Deli before every game my senior year. We made it to the conference championship, so I'm a believer.

Hands down, the best sandwiches and wraps in Golden. We go here at least once a week. The veggie spread is fresh and full of variety. My other half loves the french dip and meatball subs. The staff are friendly and energetic. Don't let the line scare you off - there is a line for a reason and it moves quickly!

My Chicken Salad sandwich was fabuloso!! The BF got the roast beef and sort of complained that there was too much meat....really? A guy complaining about that?! WIth that said, they are very generous. Staff was great and friendly. Didn't get too irritated with us since we were obviously tourists with our Coors bracelets on from the tour.

Good standard deli. They have a great bbq pork sandwich! The paninis take forever.

Great little Deli. The owner, Al, is fantastic- even thought he's a Raider fan. Fresh bread, Quality meats and a bunch of great toppings. Not sure what the other reviewers are looking for in a Deli, but this is a great one. If you want your sandwich to cost $4 (and to taste like it) go to Subway.

  • Jacob M.

Its a good sandwich but nothing special. I've def had better at other local places. But I don't care much for Quizno's and all my classmates love this place, so I usually get dragged along. I think it is the best option on Washington/Old Golden for a deli style sandwhich, although the Alley is closing fast on their heals.

How the owner remembers exactly what kind of sandwich I like is beyond me, considering his volume of customers. I love this place!

Delicious specialty sandwiches! Fast service, great prices & tons of menu options. Not sure when we'll get back to Golden but when we do we'll definitely go back to D'Deli

  • Veronica C.

  • Annie R.

  • Meena L.

Good stuff.

  • Carlos G.

Freaking delicious! Hope you make it when they have the green chili soup. Everything is good and fresh. And don't get me started on the bread. Try the golden club if you can't decide.

Long line.

Deeelish! Came here with a friend a few weeks back. Food was tasty, staff was friendly and professional, and it's all served up in beautiful Golden Colorado.

    (5)
  • Alice W.

    (4)
  • Michelle C.

  • Carol G.

Addicted to the D'waldi chicken salad sandwich. In general their toppings are simply the best around.

This place is great. I don't like delis but I like this one. Great crew. Great variety. If every deli was like this I might become a sandwich guy.

You guys are awesome - we own cafe 13 and wanted something different for lunch - stopped in for lunch and was awed at your selection - job well done the sandwiches were Excellant - thank you

The sandwiches here just keep getting better. I didn't think it to be possible. It's quickly moving to my number one sandwich shop, ever.

I absolutely love the sandwiches here! Usually the lines are long during lunch hours, but it's worth the wait. The sandwiches are very unique and packed with flavors. You won't be disappointed!

For a sandwich shoppe it's pretty good. I had a buffalo cold cut sandwich, it was really good. Definitely better than a change deli shoppe.

Delicious food, but an unsettling large amount of flies. More than any restaurant I've been to. Food was tasty enough and the ingredients seemed fresh.

Funky menu. Fantastic sandwiches. My daughter and I split The Heater, my son had the Piggly Wiggly, and my husband had The Gold Hill. We each thought ours was the best. :) The staff was super friendly and offered several suggestions - especially since we seemed a bit overwhelmed at all of the choices.

Fantastic sandwiches and great service. The many different protein choices are are a welcome perk, too. I recommend the firecracker, extra spicy.

I'm a fan.

  • Ashley B.

  • Pam G.

Woohoo! As good as it gets! So great and their customer service is way over the top as well! I have never lost an account because D'Deli sandwiches are my go to and people just love them! Simply awesome!

  • Mike V.

  • Natasha A.

  • Lacey M.

    (5)
  • Meagan P.

Yummmm... So delicious. Totally worth the wait in the line.

  • Matthew W.

    (4)

D'lish! Best sandwich I've ever had, hands down.

This place is always busy probably because it's so good. I've had the buffalo chicken and turkey sandwiches, both are amazing. My hubby had the Elvis sandwich, not my cup of tea, but he liked it.

  • Aus B.

  • Willy C.

Try the firecracker. It's not too spicy.

    (5)
  • Brian B.

Kickass sandwich. Maybe the best I've ever had. I split the Dalton - I almost didn't share. It was a little on the small size (i'm not a linebacker - but it wasn't that huge?) I'd get a whole just for me i'm ever lucky enough to be in Golden again.

YUMMMMMM!

Good but not great. I ordered the prime time and I thought the sandwich would be bigger than my head. But no, not very big at all for a $13 sandwich. (John then how big is your head?) Just don't see what all the hubbub was about !? Good but SPENCSIVE ya Know.....

Awesome place. Prices are a bit high for one person but 1 sandwich is more than enough for 2. There selections and varieties are epic. The food was fresh and the bread was very good. The menu had so many different options from buffalo to turkey. Overall a fun atmosphere and great food.

The place is small, so get your sammie to go and sit by the river. The selection is fab. If you are a veggie you will go nuts. I moved to Co based on this place and GCB.
