Cute little diner tucked away in a strip of small businesses. We had breakfast , an omelet for myself and hubby had a skillet. The food was wonderful and the service was super fast , attentive and friendly even with a full house . Well done

The coffee is awful (considering this town is full of killer coffee, inexcusable really) and the biscuits and gravy are a bland cream gravy. Other than those two issues that I have with CJ's I have to say I like the joint. They have very good service and are consistent with their cooking. The diner is comfortable and the food very good. I need to explore the menu more since it is extensive and I get into a rut in what I normally order. I do not think you can go wrong with breakfast or lunch. I like their burritos and eggs are always prepared well.

Came across this place while road tripping - really great food and great service. Everything we tried was great. I know this just sounds like a bad review bad it's true. I'll add some pics too. Cons: 100% white people? But it makes sense in this area.

Stopped by for breakfast after I made a trip to the airport in the wee hours of the morning. The diner is super cute, especially because it is decorated with old pictures of Durango High School sports news :) Our server was nice, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Hurrah for excellent service! I ordered the western omelette with a biscuit which was very good; I was pleasantly surprised when the waitress asked right away if I wanted salsa on the side. Yes!! I love salsa with my eggs and the side she brought was spicy and delicious. Servings are large and yummy but my stomach hurt a bit after eating here, maybe too much oil? The bathrooms are nice and clean which is a plus :) Definitely a great place!

Hearty and plentiful diner food surrounded by memorabilia from America's team. The portions were outrageously large with low prices to boot. Everything tasted delicious as it was smothered in green or red chili. I enjoyed the chicken and beef burrito combo - it was so large that it ended up being three meals over the course of two days. The green chili was amazing and I was devastated when I ran out.

An amazing place to eat, and definitely worth the trip off the highway. The favorite Philly cheese steak was flavorful, moist, and the perfect balance of flavors. The ciabatta roll it came on was tender and grilled, the perfect vessel to get the filling to your mouth. Wait staff was prompt, courteous, and smiley; can't ask for more than that. Portions were ample, and if you're looking for something sweet, get the raspberry cream cheese stuffed French toast.

OK.. Let me start by saying, if I had to pick only one restaurant to eat at for the rest of my life, regardless of calorie intake or any other factor CJ's would be my JAM!! I Damn near live here every morning when I go home. In college this was the absolute best place to cure a hangover, they can cover nearly anything in green chile or gravy and it is sure to satisfy even the most sceptic or tenderest of stomachs. I rarely deviate from my normal order, the Brady's Favorite with eggs over medium smothered in both green chile and gravy! But other life changing items on the menu include, The CJ's Favorite, Santana's Classic, Max's Big Breakfast Burrito, Biscuits & Gravy or any of the skillets. You sure as hell aren't gonna' go hungry here either, portions are big and the atmosphere is covered with local Durango high school sports articles and team photos. It is a regular spot for locals and often times the college basketball, football and other teams. If you're in Durango, even just for the day, don't miss out on this local gem!

My favorite place for lunch in all of Durango! Their stuffed sopapilla is fantastic with green chili over the top. YUMMM! My kids love the rosemary chicken soup and we even took a huge container of it home with us! Great service and friendly staff. Every time we visit I have to make a stop here.

After going around in circles looking for a different breakfast resturaunt yelp had recommended, we stumbled onto CJ's. They have a very evoking atmosphere and a great breakfast menu. They are exceptionly kid friendly. Their green and red chilies are both wonderful and the menu has some nice unique local offerings.

Breakfast burritos are delicious. And if you're in a hurry you can just cruise through a Durango Joes (local coffee) drive through and grab a cup of joe and a burrito from CJ's.

Probably some of the best food from a diner in a LONG time. Two male friends and I would go to CJ's often in between classes, so over the course of a year and a half, we basically sampled everything on the menu. And honestly, nothing sucked! The waitress was fantastic! She was Johnny-on-the-spot with our drinks... I'm pretty sure they were never empty. Our silverware was clean. Tables were neatly organized. Condiments were readily available. Oh... and the tea - this place got it right. Usually when I order hot tea, I am given my choice of tea bags (cool), a thing of hot water (great), and the sugar, cream, and honey (awesome), but then I'm given a tea cup already filled with hot water (huh?). Okay, hear me out. If I'm given one tea bag, but have two things of hot water... how is that supposed to work? No. It's supposed to be one tea bag per cup of hot water. I put the tea bag in the hot water container and let it steep for a while. But then the tea bag is too weak to let it steep in the tea cup, too. Boo. But CJ's got it right... only ONE thing of hot water. There was no confusing deciding, lol.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
