Nonna’s Italian Bistro, Market & Deli Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Six of us just had dinner there for my brothers birthday. What a major disappointment. We sat for twenty minutes before we were even greeted. The waitress explained they were short staffed because a server didn't show up. I get it to a point. Forty minutes to just get bread for the table, another twenty for a glass of wine, and an hour and a half for our entrees. Ridiculous!!! Where the hell is a manager to help this poor girl out. Never saw one. No ever came by to see if we were ok, how's the meal, sorry for the delay, nothing. Asked for dessert menus and they came twenty minutes later, too late. I complained to the waitress and let her know how I felt, and understood it wasn't her fault but the most poorly run restaurant I've ever been too's fault. They didn't even offer to comp a portion of our meal or to take care of us the next time we come in, nothing. Just laid the bill down and walked away. Such a waste of $240 and two and half hours of my life.

A yummy yummm yummmmy new Italian place in Centennial! Hollllller!! :) Went with a coworker to try out Nonna's Bistro for lunch and we got real unlady like once the food arrived lets say! Ha! Lasagna was mouthwatering, what is their marinara secret I wonder..... its slightly sweet yet aromatic and very spicy...incredible! Waitress was attentive and the presentation of everything was pretty upscale and spot on considering it was lunch and not dinner. We suggested they offer a lunch pasta and salad combo b/c they're a bit too pricey on their lunch menu. Will be back probably within the weekend! Met Nonna and she was a delight - wish her much success in this new endeavor as Centennial needs a new deelish restaurant!

Nonna ' s had amazing food. I personally ordered an item that wasn't even on the menu but they worked with me to create the best fettuccine or pappadelle (their thick, in restaurant made authentic Italian pasta ) I've ever had! The service was exceptional and some of the best I've ever had. I would definitely rec commend this place to anyone. It was an overall great experience.

Very disappointed. The service was very slow. They were under staffed. The music was entirely to loud. You couldnt have a conversation with anyone at your own table. The food wasnt anything to recommend and especially for the price. Dont think we will go back.

I sat at the bar for lunch. Was waited on right away. The wine by the glass selection is adequate and not too expensive. Bread and marinara sauce was delivered at the bar but the bartender was gone. I thought it might be for me but I still waited a bit. Eventually I became too hungry to care and appropriated it for my own consumption. It was very good but the marinara sauce was cold. My food came right as I finished off my two pieces of bread. I wasn't offered any more but that was probably a good thing even though I would have devoured it. I ordered the spaghetti w meatball. Excellent marinara and meatball! I was offered dessert and ordered a mini cannoli. It came on a plate with a lovely pomegranate jam. Quite lovely and tasty. The bartender complained she had to pull strings to get this dessert as the kitchen didn't want to serve it. I really didn't want to hear about the squabbles but I think this wasn't offered on the lunch menu. I read complaints about server Tom. I saw/heard this waiter (I had to ask his name) chat up a table the entire time I had my bread and then again when I ate my spaghetti. No wonder! The place was busy and I am sure his other tables were neglected. There was a player grand piano that got stuck on Elton John for quite awhile. The music didn't fit the restaurant but this is a minor critique. I will return for the food. Maybe do takeout. This place really needs a manager to clean up the service issues and take it to the level of its decor and food quality.

Just enjoyed an amazing meal at Nonna's! Starting with the fresh bread and marinara sauce and wine. For dinner my husband got to eggplant parmesan and I got the lasagna. His was beautifully presented and he thought it was delicious. My lasagna was a huge helping that was very very good. Our very attentive waitress, Amy, brought us more bread with our meal. We each had a dessert also, he had the creme rule and was thrilled with the flavor. Amy said she liked the torte which was cloudless and she had them put it on a to die for salted Carmel ice cream. The chocolate with that salted carmel was heavenly. We shall return! Often, I hope. Thanks Nonna's for opening a stellar resturant in our area!

As a Chicagoan, I know my beefs. Nonna's does it LEGIT! Tender meat, fresh bread & gravy perfectly seasoned. Do yourself a favor and go!!

We were a group of 10 and our waitress did a great job. I could have licked the plate clean my dinner was that good. I'll have to check out the lunch menu and try it some time. The wine was on the pricey side though.

I have been there for lunch several times. The service was top notch. It's a great atmosphere. I have not been disappointed with a meal--pasta, chicken, & pizza. Bread comes with every meal.

Aside from the bland food, which I've come to expect from Italian restaurants knowing they need to appeal to the masses, Nonna's market offered one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Being a full blooded Italian from north Jersey I came in really wanting to love this place to put the poor reviews to rest but after trying to make excuses for everything, I had to come to terms with it being an awful experience. After placing an order for 2 $10 sandwiches with minimal meat and no cheese (despite the menu stating it came with cheese) and 2 cannolis I began my wait. 10 minutes later another gentleman placed his much larger order. He was offered his food about 15 minutes before I was. Then after my (at this point) 27 minutes of waiting I was brought the sandwiches and told they had no cannolis. Naturally I simply asked to be refunded for the items not received. This became a big issue for them. Then after arguing for the money back for ONLY the items not received, as if by magic, the girl behind the counter produced 2 cannolis! Why bother telling customers you're out? What were you trying to do? I was really hoping to find a real Italian deli near my new home but came to realize Nonna's fails to deliver. The word "Italian" in their name is a sorry excuse of false advertising and to say the least I will not be back. I highly recommend this place be avoided at all costs. Undertrained staff. Displeasing food. Inflated costs. Miserable experience.

Five of us went to Nonna's last Friday, 9/5/14. The restaurant is very nice, very pleasing to the eye. We ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were excellent! We really enjoyed them. The only problem we had was that the kitchen was not up to serving a full house. It took a very LONG time to get served. I am pretty sure that can be attributed to having just opened. That is the only reason I am rating them 3 stars. Otherwise, it would be 5! That being said, I am looking forward to going back and hopefully the kitchen will have it's act together by then.

I don't know where to start- the service was terrible, the layout was horrible, and the food was bland. We came in for dinner at 5:45 pm in the evening on a Thursday. They weren't busy by any means. Happy hour ends at 6, we simply asked what the specials were, our waitress rudely said that happy hour ended at 6, tough luck. Fine, it ended move on- but you can be nicer about. The layout meant that half the spots were blinded by the sun. The plates are terrible, awkward to eat out of, the food served in them is bland and overcooked. The meatballs have no seasoning, the sauce is ragu, and the pasta is overcooked. I've had better Italian as a Costco sample. To top it off Nona herself was rude and arrogant. She wouldn't take our feedback with an open mind and just kept throwing her other restaurants in our face. Thank you for letting me know what other locations are yours- I know to avoid them now.

Love the atmosphere, great food and live music. There is no other restaurant in DTC/Centennial/Parker that offers this kind of experience. Hostess, bar and wait staff are fun and friendly and the owner is very responsive to the customers. My favorites: lemon drop martini, pizza, stuffed mushrooms, calamari. Entrees: lasagna (to die for), scampi. Desserts: rum soaked cake, Italian wedding cookies. My husband and I have been back many times, we love it!

So I totally understand that this location has only been open for about a week . Like most people I was excited to se an Italian restaurant open up near my apartment. When we entered the restaurant we were greated by who I can only assume is the owner, she was not overly excited or even affected by the fact that we had walked in. Once we established that we were 2 people who would like to eat dinner at the restaurant we just walked into the woman grabbed Menues and started to walk us into the dinning room but she stopped because she recognized someone who walked in, we were handed off to a host and seated at the first table he could see which was hidden behind the bar after being seated we were left to look at the Menues for.....25 minutes in that 25 minutes we had no interaction with anyone who worked at the restaurant , we were about to leave when I the host walked by for the 5th time I got his attention told him how long we had been waiting he went and grabbed our waitress who apologized and blamed it on the host not telling her we were there. On a good note she did buy us a round of drinks which was nice. And I do have to say that she was very nice, although after ordering the food did take a while to come out. Once it was out the food was ok not the best not the worst not overly impressed.

We had a great experience here for dinner! Food was amazing! Wait staff was very friendly. The only complaint we would have is that they need to hire some more waiters. They just opened though so a few kinks are expected. They also need to lower their lights it was quite bright for an Italian restaurant. All in all we really only care about the food and wine, which were both excellent! So the rest is just minor details.

What a disappointment. After waiting for months for Nonna's to open, we finally had a chance to eat there tonight. The restaurant was beautiful - obviously a lot of care and thought went into the design. We ordered spaghetti with meatball and sausage, pasta with eggplant and chicken Parmigiana. While the prices were very reasonable, the portions were quite meager. The tomato sauce, which was used on all 3 dishes and as a dipping sauce for the bread was very bland. It seems like a can of tomato sauce was opened and poured directly onto the pasta. The pasta itself was overcooked and mushy which further lead to a disappointing meal. The meatball was bland, dry and didn't have the texture of ground beef or any other meat. We had to request Parmesan cheese as it was not offered and when we asked for crushed red pepper (at an authentic Italian restaurant), we were told that they were out. Possibly someone could have been dispatched to Walmart across the street for replenishment! I rarely post reviews, but I feel that Nonna needs to know that her food needs as much care and imagination that was put into the restaurant design. My hope is that she uses this feedback to greatly improve the quality and quantity of the food. You can charge a bit more and provide your guests with a good sized portion. I can look past many things in a new restaurant, but lack of quality and creativity typically doesn't get better after the shakeout. The Centennial /SE Aurora area needs good (non-chain) restaurants. We had high hopes for Nonna's, but unfortunately, will have to keep waiting!

Great atmosphere. Wine list is extensive and super reasonable. Food was delicious - I had the baked sausage and peppers and my husband had the salmon. And the best part of our lunch was the service and the piano player. Thanks for the great meal.

I have to say I was very excited to try this restaurant at its new location. Man was a disappointed. We went on a Friday night. The wait was only about 20 minutes. Not bad. We started with the calamari appetizer and a glass of wine. The calamari was delicious but it took 20 minutes for my wine to make it to the table. I was told the clams were delicious. Clams in the wine sauce and on top if the pasta. I ordered that based on the recommendation. This is when the meal went from good to bad. My clams arrived and they were swimming in oil, not sauce but a bowl of oil with pasta and clams on it. No clams in the sauce, no wine, just oil and pasta with clams laying there. The pasta was inedible. When we mentioned it to the waitress she told me that is the way the pasta had to made because they use so much wine that if they didn't put in all that oil I would get drunk. What? When I clearly didn't eat the pasta drowning in oil she asked me if I wanted a box. Think I will pass. It also took about 10 min for the other dish ordered by a member in the party to make it to the table. All members of our party were almost done eating by the time her dish made it out. The chef came out to apologize, which was nice, but not the waitress or the owner. They were oblivious. The owner seemed more interested in her regulars than making her new patrons happy. Also, there was another party there the same night who were leisurely enjoying their dinner. She asked them to move out of the booth they were sitting In because she needed it for someone else even though by that time there were plenty of tables open Where she could have sat the other guest. To make a long story longer I will not be visiting this place again. Bad food and bad service is all I need not to eat at this place.

Just went to Nonnas tonight. They had good business for a Tuesday and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal and the atmosphere. My wife and I had a great time. I was waiting to try this place to give them a few months to straighten out some of the issues in reviews I read when they first opened. We had a great meal. My wife is gluten intolerant and they had many pasta options for her and even gluten free bread. I had the (regular) pasta with arrabiata sauce and it was excellent. I went in telling myself I was not going to eat the whole dish so I could take some home, and when I was done, there was nearly nothing left. The bartender made a great dirty martini and their wine list was approachable and reasonable with accurate short descriptions of each wine. The service was very good. I mentioned to our friendly server that we were not in a hurry and he paced the meal nicely but was still attentive. I would highly recommend giving this place a try...

The restaurant is beautiful. The wait staff was great. The food hmmmm. I ordered the chicken parmigiana. The chicken tasted burnt or was cooked in old grease. The noodles were over cooked like they were precooked and heated up later. I have tasted better sauce from a can or jar at the supermarket. The other person ordered the eggplant parmigiana. They said that the eggplant was good, but had the same comment for the sauce and noodles. The third person in our group ordered the "Aglio olio Pomodoro" without the anchovies since they are vegetarian. After eating half of it, they found an anchovie tail. Then the wait staff said that they thought they took out all the anchovies. All I can say is "WHAT?!!" We were offered no parmesan cheese to add to our entrées. It would be nice if they had offered a small house salad or cup of soup with the meal. We ordered deserts. The deserts took about 20 minutes to come to our table. I ordered the Crème Brulee Napolean the pastry tasted like it had been frozen and instead of melted sugar, it appeared, they used a blow torch to caramelize it. This technic gave the pastry a burnt taste. Crème Brulee tasted instant and had whipped texture. Most restaurants would have taken the price of the entrée with the anchovies off the bill or offered a free desert. Not this time. It was interesting that another person (Vic P.) had similar comments about the sauce and noodles that I did. I really really hope the owner will listen to the comments and make modifications for the better.

FANTASTIC! Met a friend for dinner here after hearing all about this place. Very nicely decorated, and very clean. We were seated immediately and asked about their red wines, the server was quick to suggest something to go with our pasta that we planned to order. We went ahead and ordered it. Right on point, delicious and a perfect compliment to our meal. As I am gluten free, I asked the server about the gluten free options, she brought the gluten free menu to the table, a lot of great choices, even gluten free bread. We ordered the Bruschetta Pomodoro on gluten free bread, Delicious! Our server then brought out two baskets of bread (one regular one gluten free) and a delicious marinara sauce for dipping. Their portions of pasta are large, we decided to share an Arrabiatta Pasta with the gluten free penne, very good, just the right amount of spice. We decided that we will be back! Went home and told my husband that we really needed to have dinner here, a great place, great food at decent prices.

LOUD MUSIC!!! Beware - I have been here twice and the live music is so loud and in your face. You HAVE to make reservations, especially on the weekends, and request the regular dining room, away from the bar. I get that it's the new jazzy spot for happy hour and cocktails but I like to be able to have a conversation at a decent speaking level.

We went to this place and I wasn't sure how to get to the deli, we went in the wrong door. I told an employee on the restaurant side that we have never been there before and asked how we ordered off of the deli menu and she said "from over here?" I had to ask her to direct me to the deli. The service in the deli was extremely slow. There was only one person working and were the only people there. I ordered the lamb burger from the menu on the wall, but was told they don't serve a lamb burger. I chose the bacon burger and my husband chose the Sicilian. It took forever to get the food and the burgers were not ready at the same time. Mine was supposed to have grilled onions and a special sauce, neither was on it. The burgers were just a frozen disk. The soda from the Coke machine was too sweet, didn't taste like Coke and the water from the machine smelled like bleach. I was told that happens every now and again. I had high expectations for this place, as it's attached to what is supposed to be a nice Italian restaurant. Very disappointed. Won't go back there.

We have found a new favorite Italian place! Our experience was fantastic, and I can honestly say I can't wait to go back. The ambiance is very classic Italian and it may not look like much since it's not in a stand alone building but you forget all about that as soon as you step inside. There is a baby grand piano and a great bar area, a banquet room and a great little patio with a fire pit. We ate in the dining room, and had impeccable service. Mandy was our waitress and she was knowledge and friendly. Our drinks were never low and she made awesome entree recommendations. We started off with calamari and my husband and I both agreed that it was the best we've ever had. Served with tomatoes, artichokes, feta, lemon butter sauce, and a great Italian seasoning blend. The had a decent wine list which wasn't too expensive, so that was nice. For dinner, I had the lobster ravioli. It was delicious it was served with artichokes and roma tomatoes,it was creamy and so flavorful! My husband had penne pasta in a vodka creme sauce with shrimp and scallops. The sun dried tomatoes took that dish over the top. It was amazing!! I will be ordering that when we go back. I highly recommend Nonnas and will absolutely be back!

I didn't give it 5 full stars because of the food, that's 5 for sure! I gave it 4 because of the wait was a tad too long for everything. They seemed very slow due to lack of either experienced servers or slow cooks. The food was amazingly prepared and delicious. I had the chicken parmigiana...wow, the sauce was incredible... Just needed a lil more bread during the meal. Please go for yourself, you'll be very happy!!

I've only visited the Chicago Deli, but it is fantastic. Classic sandwiches done right. The decor is old-school Italian and I like that. Sandwiches are generous portions of high-quality ingredients. When you visited, you gotta try the Italian beef and get da peppers!! Also, their cannoli is incredible.

Probably one of the very worst dining experiences that I've had in Denver in a long time. First and foremost, the service was horrendous. From the beginning to the end, our service was slow and unprofessional. We did not get a proper greeting upon sitting down.. only a do you guys want a drink? after waiting 15 minutes to be greeted. We were celebrating, so we ordered a bottle of wine. Our server made us point the bottle to him because he didn't recognize the one we ordered. The wine service was all wrong.. he dropped the cork multiple times, but still gave it to us. We asked for breadsticks along with our appetizer after seeing the table next to us have them. We didn't get these breadsticks until 10 minutes after our entrées came. He brought us the check right after we finished eating... we had to ask for a dessert menu. Then, on top of all that, it took us 10 minutes to get change after we paid. We felt ignored the whole meal... really bad. I can forgive bad service if the food is good, but the food wasn't. We ordered bruschetta as our appetizer.. the bread was over toasted and just okay.. nothing special. We ordered two pasta dishes- both eh... I've had better at Carabbas. My pasta dish had scallops and shrimp in it and the scallops tasted old. The only highlight on the food front was the dessert. I had the cannoli and it was REALLY good and tasted fresh. Overall, a huge disappointment. A few friends had highly recommended this place, but we will not be back.

The referral to go here actually came from a friend and not a Yelp review and I have not read any of the other reviews . Set in a "strip mall" atmosphere we were pleasantly surprised to see such a nice interior. Nice bar and beautiful wood tables. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered the mussels as an appetizer and it was cry good. Order a side of bread with it. The salmon on a cedar plank was outstanding. Perfectly cooked and the vegetables and potatoes that cooked with was cooked very well. We well come back for sure. The prices were very reasonable and everyone enjoyed their food.

Amazing authentic Italian food with a great ambiance. My husband loves their drinks. The service is a bit slow, but the live music and romantic atmosphere make up for it. They are kid friendly which is awesome. I love their mussels, and clam linguine dish. Servers are always polite.

Update from 6/21/15. Whoa! Tried again and they were out of the veal parmigiana when we arrived at 7 pm but they weren't that busy! Had the eggplant parm, very rubbery, and I got sick when I got home. Tried the deli on third visit but the deli guy was having a very bad day, filled our order, and told us he was sorry but he was trying to get out of there so go pay at the bar where they didn't know the price of anything so they had to go find, guess who? the deli guy!

Came here with friends new & old at the tail end of a ski trip. This place was highly regarded by the locals, and with Restaurant Week and all we couldn't resist. This restaurant has a great ambience and provides a modern take on the Italian dining experience. The Restaurant Week special had several offerings from the main menu and in unusual fashion I made choices I typically wouldn't make when ordering Italian food. I was feeling adventurous. For an appetizer we started with Stuffed Mushrooms which were so delicious, espeically compared to what I was expecting (i don't like mushrooms). After finishing I gave off a sigh of relief, knowing that my adventerous ways might just pay off after all. For salad I went with the Capresse, and I think all Capresse salads are pretty standard. For entree I went with the Arabiatta Pasta: Penne, Italian sausage, onion, garlic, spinach, mushrooms, spicy arabiatta sauce. Arabiatta if my favorite sauce so this dish was very much to my liking. I loved the taste of the creamy arabiatta sauce and once again the mushrooms pleasanty surprised me. In fact, I think I finished everything on the plate except the sausage. Don't get me wrong the sausage was great, I was just stuffed by this point and couldn't stuff anything else down. For dessert we had a cannoli (i was suddenly hungry again once I saw the cannoli) and it was a perfect finish to a great Italian meal. Overall, great dining experience. The service was about average but luckily the food was so great that the service didn't sway my review either way. I believe Nonna herself was walking around and asking the guests how their experience was, which I enjoyed seeing and respect.

I stopped in the deli and tried the Italian Beef sandwich. They asked if I wanted the bell and other peppers and I said yes. It was ready in 2 minutes. It was soaking in ah ju and I dug in. The meat and bread was delicious! Then the heat came...wow! ok those peppers were hot. Suggestion - warn the customer when you ask if they want them. The roasted bell pepper was great. The sandwich was huge. I will go back for another try. The one thing I didn't like was that they call your name. They could have easily brought it 15' to me since I was the only one there. A manager or server was sitting at a table texting. She didn't ask how I liked the meal. No one said thank you come again...yet they did for the man before me.

Impressed. I had heard very mixed reviews about the new Nonna's location. I have long been a fan of the original Nonna's on Leetsdale, yes I understand that they are not the same company. The bread and marina was great. The bread was not warm however. The pizza and asparagus ravioli were both up to par and 5 stars. There are a few kinks to work out but I'm a fan.

My girlfriend and I ate dinner here for the first time last night. It was surprisingly awesome! I had no idea this place was so good. I assumed it was another mediocre suburban establishment on arapahoe. Boy was I wrong! First, the wine selection was solid and we both had wine we loved! The calamari was the best calamari either of us has had. The bread was really good and despite what other reviews say they will give you more if you ask nicely. For the main course I had spaghetti with meatball and sausage. So good! The sauce was perfectly thick and the spice in the sausage was sharp but great! We were too full for dessert but it sounded great too! The ambiance was intimate and homey feeling but fancy enough that you don't forget you're out on the town (or burbs). This will be my new local go-to for Italian in my area for sure!

Cool, Nona came over and showed me around, She is a real sweetheart with genuine enthusiasm. Been here 2 days in a row, both times in the Deli, the food is delicious, it's real, and has unique tastes, clean with great European decor. it's special treat. They have sweets Gelato, coffee and Sandwiches. Entertainment on Thursday Friday and Saturday. Next time I'm going into the Restaurant for Italian, and Sinatra

Let me start off by saying I have been to the Nonna's in Denver several times as well as this Nonna's several times, both personal and work. This is by far my favorite Italian restaurant in the city. The ambiance in both locations is great (not too loud, not too quiet). The wait staff is always on point and the food is DELICIOUS. At this particular location they have live music and a great bar, the open kitchen looks great and all of this sets the mood for the restaurant. My favorite just happens to be the spaghetti with meat sauce (add meatballs please) and you can tell this recipe comes from nothing but LOVE! The noodles are cooked perfectly the sauce is meaty and has so much taste to it. The meatballs are juicy and tender............. I WISH I COULD ORDER RIGHT NOW...YUM! I have never had a less than stellar experience at either restaurant and would (I have several times) recommended this place to anyone who is looking for some great Italian cuisine and looking for a nice place to relax and have a great meal. Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to try the deli side, I definitely will some time down the road. Nonna and team... you are freakin awesome! I love your restaurant... you all do excellent work! I can't wait to come back!

I've been here twice and love it. The Cioppino is the best in the Denver area - I've only had better in a 5star restaurant in Vegas. Great sauces, excellent bar. The owner stopped by my table both times I was there, which means to me that she always talks to her customers. The piano singers are a blast from the past. My only complaint is the noise level - it is LOUD.

Where do I start!?! Came here on a Saturday night to meet up with an old friend and we sat at the bar. Good thing we got there at 7 because the place filled up completely about 30 minutes later. The bread is amazing!!! You can taste that amazing grill taste and the marinara was phenomenal. Can't remember the whole name but it was Aglio something with anchovies and it was delicious. The bartenders a man and woman were amazing as well and the owner came down to talk to us for a few minutes. It was too late to get anything at the deli but I already know next time I'm in the area, going to get some gelato and baked goods. Beautiful place!! Amazing employees and will be sure to be back soon. Not sure why people complain about the time it takes to get served their meal but I know that mine took 15 minutes for pure heaven!

Still having growing pain, this place. I go back for the Prosecco. Shari is the best barkeep ever. Ask for her by name. Tell her you were sent by the Prosecco Mafia. She'll know you're family.

Iced coffee was made perfectly and priced well! The coffee was strong but was so smooth and had a great after taste. The Service was nice and quick. I would definitely recommend for a coffee stop!

Really great food! Everything was delicious. But, it's overpriced for the portions you get. And, they up charge you just to split a plate... I don't mind paying good money for good food, but our meal (while still delicious) wasn't worth what we paid

You must try the tiramissou...best I ever had. I had a yummy seafood pasta dish but can't remember how to spell it (shrimp, scallops, penne pasta and an outstanding sauce). Their marina sauce also is the best I ever had and they serve that with yummy bread. Had dinner with four friends and everyone LOVED what they ordered. Food is outstanding and the servings are abundant. Great happy hour menu and prices. Love the live music...not too loud, very pleasant. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Great atmosphere. Immaculately clean. We shall return!!!

As good as it gets in Denver! WE have been here three times now and it has never disappointed. The seafood is always fresh and prepared perfectly. The Smoked salmon is out of this world! Happy Hour is awesome with great prices too! This place will soon be packed all the time once people discover it. Get there now before you have to wait for a table

Had happy hour at Nonnas tonight. Good deals on great food and very attentive service. Missy was friendly, professional and efficient. Had the carpaccio and the marguerita flatbread and the crab Mac n cheese. All of them were great! I've had dinner there before and the lasagna is truly amazing. I can't say enough about the bread that they bake fresh when you order it. Can't wait to try brunch!

One of the best, freshest Italian meals in town! Owner made sure to come and speak with us and make sure we were pleased with everything. Very excited to find a local spot like this in South Denver!

Wife and I grabbed some deli a few weeks ago, and of course noticed the Restaurant so we made plans to return on a different night. The deli was cool, great selection and quality. ..the ladies working the counter were very nice. It was a good lunch.. We brought the kids back for dinner, as we planned, and enjoyed the ambiance and the service. Missy was sincere and very happy to share her extensive knowledge of their offerings. The calamari was flavorful and different than any fried stuff we've had elsewhere, great starter...We loved the white mussels served in a cast iron dish, super flavorful. Cioppino was STUFFED full of tasty seafood, the Veal was delicious and the kids loved the various pasta dinners. (we will try the pizza next time). Dessert was a great experience, with a big selection , even in the gelato. We will return, I have to test the bolognese and the tiramisu... maybe some live music , too!

I pass this place on my drive home and decided to stop tonight. So glad I did they made my day! When I first walked in I felt the piano was too loud but I was used to it in 5 mins and could easily have a conversation (piano guy very friendly). The bartender was fantastic. Attention to detail and all I had to do was look her way for her to know to wrap up her conversation with another bar patron. The calamari is great! They seemed to topped it with evoo with was a little much for me but I think most like more oil than I do. It as also garnished with parsley, olives and feta. For happy hour wine - it was not bad at all - I had the cab. I got some to go pasta, cant remember what it is but like all the folks at the bar said, its like shooting darts at the menu, its all good!

I'm not sure what all these bad reviews are about. I really like this place. Cool rustic italian decor, unpretentious atmosphere and the food was awesome. Start with the mussels and antipasti. I had the linguini vongole and my husband had a big shank of meat, some sort of special. We both loved it. Would definitely go here regularly for birthdays or date nights.

Priorities, per favore! This was our second trip to Nonna's in Centennial- the first trip, shortly after their opening at this location, was quite good, and we looked forward to checking them out after the wrinkles had been ironed out. We arrived for our 7 pm reservation and were led past the cheesy and ridiculously loud live music to be seated at a minuscule two top in the middle of the noisy dining room. We asked the hostess if she had anything else, and she very graciously obliged us by seating us next to a 28-top in the side room. Not an 8-top. A TWENTY EIGHT top. I mean, who does that? As it turns out, the owner's daughter does that. On a Saturday night. We were speechless. The service was not bad, under the circumstances, but the food was utterly mediocre- pasta was overdone, sauces were bland but salty. There's much better Italian food in this town. At the Nonna's on Leetsdale, for example. We won't be back.

Visited at 5pm on a Saturday, walked into the deli area. No greeting, stood at the counter 3 employees on the line no one even turned around. Eventually placed order. Out of Turkey...... Ordered a chicken capprese panini & fries $12...... Chicago dog, $3.75 , 6 cookies $9..... Took almost 30 minutes. With no orders in front of us. Italian market is pitiful, deli cases disorganized & unappealing. Caprese had Brie on it, not mozzarella. Was going to try restaurant but don't thing we will now... Shame because the area could use a good Italian deli, market & restaurant. If you want deli / market go to Carmine's on Smoky hill.

This restaurant is quite good. Ciopinno was excellent. The service was pretty good but could improve a little bit Jazz band playing which was very nice! In an interesting center next to an urgent care but once you walk inside you will be impressed. Beautiful atmosphere. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Very disappointed. The best thing here is the atmosphere - nice decor, homey Italian feel. We were serviced by two different waitresses, with one asking "has your order been taken? etc" Clearly there is a lack of communication. We were served cold bread and cold marinara sauce for dipping. It took FOREVER to get water and to get our order in. The food was not good. My eggplant parmesan had a rubbery texture, and my husband's pasta was lukewarm and otherwise unremarkable. It is also expensive. I will not be coming back.

Stopped here for dinner and was generally pleased with the experience. I was seated quickly and service was generally attentive, but slightly slow at times. I am a heavy water drinker and I one of my service measures is how often I completely empty my glass (in a place with good water service, it'll never be empty). Here, I emptied it twice. Other than that though, service was acceptable but not outstanding. I had the eggplant piccata and the sauce was good, but the eggplant was slightly overcooked and bitter. Still a decent meal, but nothing I'd write home about. It's almost like they have the right recipes, but are falling down on simple execution (cooking an eggplant). I may return, but frankly at this price point ($20 entrees) the quality of the food doesn't quite match the pricing.

I really enjoyed this place! For the appetizer I had the Bruschetta. I loved it, but my daughter thought it was OK. To me the toasted bread was perfect when I bit down the bread broke apart, but did not shatter and was not chewy! The flavor was different, but great! For dinner I had the Clam and noddle in a white sauce. I loved the lemon taste it had. Buttery, yet lite it tastes. There were over a dozen clams and more clam meat then I had seen in this dish by any standards. It was delicious! My daughter ordered the mussels' appetizer. The sauce was delicious! Her main dish, the spaghetti and meatballs was large. It came with one Italian sausage and a large meatball. She liked the Italian sausage more than the meatball. This dish I did find spicy to spicy for me (not a fan of spicy food). My husband had the shrimp scampi (like) dish. Although he said it was OK, he did eat all of it!

Cute place and the food is good and generally speaking the wait staff is as well. But unfortunately we were treated VERY rudely by a woman who appeared to be the manager the other night. Too bad. At that rate, the place won't last long.

The bread is very good and the service is fast and friendly but the food, other than that awesome bread, is just ok. I had a pasta dish with chicken? Was that dry chewy substance chicken? If so it may have been feet or lips or who knows what because it wasn't breast meat. Not just one bite was bad I picked it over pretty good and didn't find a single bite of what I would call good chicken. Kind of expensive for serving the bad parts of chicken that I don't even find in the food at del taco. If I give this another chance, because I want more bread, I will opt for a vegetarian option.

Wow...I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is exceptional, from the bread, to the Caesar salad to the shrimp scampi over linguini. Owner Nonna is so personable and makes sure everyone is happy and enjoying their meals. The service was great and we were seated right away without reservations. I recommend it highly and thank you Nonna for moving to our neighborhood.

We had a party of three last Saturday. We were looking forward to seeing the new restaurant after years of occasional lunches and dinners at the Leetsdale store. The environment was more upscale than anticipated, but those good feeling quickly went away. Who designed this place? You are required to walk directly in front of the singer and piano player just inside the front door. While the design of the smaller Leetsdale restaurant may dictate the location of the entertainment at the front door, someone actually designed this mess. They are also amped up so loud it's difficult to talk, which is a management issue. We requested someplace quiet away from the music so they put us in the side banquet room. This long and narrow room with a 24 foot ceiling full of hard surfaces was an echo chamber. Two large wooden tables pushed together also make for awkward uncomfortable seating for 4, much less 3. Everyone had the same idea of escaping the music because they kept jumping up and closing the door into the room. That didn't help much. Sound mitigation is sorely needed in this space, but better judgment on setting sound levels would help too. After seating, and ordering, we were served bread, but the waitress simply disappeared for about 20 minutes so ordering a cocktail refill was impossible. We decided get a bottle of wine before the dinner was served. Still no waitress! Finally I flagged down another waitress walking by and asked her to find our waitress. She took the order for wine. Still nothing! Eventually our waitress came back and took the wine order. . .again. She explained that the owner was in that evening with a big party and was making a lot of demands so she was helping out in the other room. She was sorry for the service problem. So far for the night already had two strikes. Unfortunately the food was only a base hit. The Caesar salad was pretty good although a little underdressed. However, that and the bread kept us from starvation while we continued to wait for our waitress, wine and dinner. My Bolognese with beef, sausage and sautéed bell peppers was worth the wait. On the other hand, what we were told was the much touted lasagna, while big as advertised, was bland. I think I might be willing to give them another try, but would demand the front room a long way from the music. My wife and our guest on the other hand, who both had the lasagna, will be hard to convince. It was three strikes for them. This was a very sad experience.

Absolutely the worst dining experience. Only opened a few days. Garlic Rolls were as hard as a rock and cold in the middle, even though Nonna insisted they were baked fresh daily by her pastry chef. Food was just so-so, nothing to write home about. Nonna's on Leetsdale at Monaco is 100 times better, nicer people. Oh and sorry the waitress was crying, we did not do anything other than let her know of our dismay, however if service and food is like it was on this night, she better plan on bringing a box of tissues with her every night! Nice to have in the neighborhood, but I think spending a little bit more money on food quality rather than dishes and bowls makes a lot more sense! Oh and I hope you got the Sprite machine working!!

Lunch Review: I was really excited to see an Italian deli opened up close to me. I went in expecting a bomb 'Carmine's' italian sandwich, happy face!! They don't have a good sandwich selection like you would expect from an 'italian deli', so I ordered the Italian panini and... frownie face! It was very disappointing. I like all the good italian meats, capicola, prosciutto, mortadella, salami, etc.. Not the case. Instead I got salami, corned beef, and pepperoni (with the plastic casing still on). After it was pressed it was extremely greasy. Also it was quite meager for $9. Not a good 'italian market and deli'. I will still give them another shot and go for dinner in the 'bistro'. Advise: Wait a few weeks to go there, seem like they have a lot of new store kinks to be worked out. Dinner Review: Stay tuned...

I really like Nonna's. I have only been once. I brought my gf and niece here. We ordered the calamari (sicilian style with capers, artichoke hearts, and olives), lasagna, and I can't remember the names of the other dishes. My gf got a white soupy style pasta with clams, shrimp, and mussels (I think). I ordered a spicier pasta (penne I think) with shrimp. The food was prepared very nicely and even my girl, who typically doesn't like pasta, enjoyed her dish. They run happy hour till 6 and if you cut it close they are really cool about letting you get an order in for the happy hour price. Margarita was really good! We crushed all of the food and they even serve complimentary bread with marinara. Dennis was our waiter and we timed his visits perfectly and made sure we were taken care of. I did note that my niece's water was empty for a while after our bill cam, but that would be my only critic. Location is great, staff was good, food was marvelous, and the live pianist really displayed some talent. If you like italian and you live close to this Nonna's, stop in. You will be glad you did!

Good food and atmosphere. Musical act with dinner with soft oldies gave the place good character. Food was good but pescatore was a tad oily but taste was good and plenty of fresh garlic. The food and good friendly service will bring us back.

Very hot and cold experience. Ambience was nice, had the feel of an upscale'ish restaurant (for Centennial) . Service was 2 star: we sat 5+ minutes before being greeted at our table. Once we ordered, the food came fast and tasted great. Waitress wasn't back at the table until we beckoned her for the check. I'd give them one more chance, hopefully the poor service was a fluke.

The wait time for food was 15-20 minutes and that was in the Deli area to pick up food. It seemed as if the employees were bickering at each other and the customers saw it first hand go back and forth.

Nona, I have been a great fan of you and your resturant for many many t Years, but my experience on Sunday for brunch is one I think you need to know. I took my family of 7 for brunch, excited about sharing your resturant with them, but to my surprise andd dismay our experience was awful. Four of us gad the crabcakes, and when I tell you I actually made the comment,"where are the crab Ames". I am not kidding, they were so thin Zi almost missed them, one of the underlying toast was so hard it could not be eaten, The crowing blow was that it was my brothers birthday, they brought him a canoli that wasn' more than 2 inches, it would have been better not to have made this jester. But the worst was the size and price of the gelato $3.99 for a mini scoop of gelato was an insult. They did take those off the bill,. Nona, I am writing you this because I know you do better and I like you personally a lot. Should you have any questions or thoughts, please call me at 3038980689

This restaurant was sensational. My family has been in this business for 4 decades + and I can tell you that someone put forth a great deal of effort assembling the fine menu and the overall look, feel and panache this restaurant exhibits. I had a simple meal - PEI Mussels first - HUGE PORTION and delectably finished in a lovely white wine ~ garlic. Best I have had in Colorado. As well - I had the Pappardelle Bolgnese and it was simply the best I have had in a forever. The sauce was Stand Up - RIGHT ON and the pasta was prepared expertly. I'm very hard to impress and this place just knocked me out. A word or two on the service. Young, exuberant, friendly and engaging. My two guys that waited on me made me feel right at home. My greeting at the front desk was also good - but I could tell I upset them a bit asking for a larger table (I'm a 260 pounder - and I need some space :))... I will be back - I'm even planning to go tonight. How can I not... I urge you folks to try this restaurant. They have put a lot into it - and I feel like I've finally found my Go To Spot. Thanks, Mark

This place is phenomenal. The service is awesome, the food is high quality and fresh and the marinara sauce is out of this world. My mom would be upset because she's full blood Italian but I've never had better than Nonna's. I tried a traditional chicken Parmesan dish and the stuffed mushrooms. They were superb. Definitely going back and recommending to others.

We were eager to try out a new restaurant close to home. Saturday night at 7:00pm with no wait, which is great for us but not a good sign for the establishment. Nice ambiance but the tables were a little too close together but no big deal. We waited awhile for our waiter to greet us and when he did he was friendly. The menu was average for Italian fare but I immediately noticed the inflated prices. Nothing jumped out at me so I ordered the Nonna's salad for $9.oo. It was a small for the price and just an average salad with some walnuts, beets and feta added to it. Not worth $9.oo and was not large enough or hearty enough to be an entree. My husband had the ravioli with a side of Italian sausage. His ravioli was average and the sausage was not brought out with the ravioli and he had to remind the waiter to bring it to him. My daughter had a seafood medley over linguine. She said it was fine but not worth the $22 price tag. It took awhile for my salad to arrive to the table so I told them to start without me. We wanted parmesan cheese but had to flag another waiter for it as our waiter did not stop by to check on us and he wasn't the one to bring us our food. My husband had a glass of wine and then ordered a second glass. The second glass never made it to him so when we had finished our meal we asked for the check and made sure the waiter took it off our tab. My Cosmo was great in flavor and very cold which I like but VERY little alcohol if any. Not ok for a $9.oo cocktail. The waiter was nice just very unexperienced and inattentive especially for the price range of this restaurant. It is like they are trying to be something they are not. Stick with the deli but the fine dining needs some MAJOR fine tuning. With the amount of ratings mentioning the service issues and the high prices and the fact that they were not really very busy for a Saturday night, I am afraid they won't be around for long. We can't afford to give them another chance. Way too expensive for very average food at best and below average service. I can make average at home so why would I pay for way overpriced average food. Nonna needs to read her reviews and make some changes. In reading some of these reviews, Nonna, you need to teach your deli employees to GREET each customer instead of ignoring them. You also need to treat all of your customers the same. You are in the food industry, you are not a celebrity. SERVICE and SUPERIOR product is KEY!!

What a great Italian restaurant with a cool ambience. Their meatballs and bolognese sauce are top notch. Their calamari is very good as well. I also tried the crab cake, and it was pretty good for not being a jumbo lump meat cake. The service was great. They lost the 5th star from me, because the wine selection was narrow. Beef up the wine list, and 5 start review awaits!!! I will return here again and again.

AMAZING! I'm a New Yorker and I was impressed by this restaurant. A Colorado restaurant that's very much up to NYC standards! The decor is contemporary Italian and the staff ware super friendly and welcoming. Nonna visited or table personally and said the Tiramisu was on the house and that should wouldn't take no for an answer. I tried the chicken piccata which came out piping hot with a creamy flavorful sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. The eggplant parmesan is very good too. It's clear this restaurant has made improvements from when it opened a few months back. Definitely worth trying again. I know I'll be returning...

Heard very good reviews from friends and family but hadn't been there yet. So last Saturday was the first time going, and I must say, YUMMIE! I had the Veal Marsala, hot and good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to the nex time.

Brunch, brunch, brunch! This place has the best brunch--decadent eggs benedict and delicious biscuits and gravy. The food gets 5 stars, but I had to take it down to 4 due to the service. It seems like there is always just one server there during brunch, so they get overloaded and stressed. Easy problem to fix though. I've only eaten dinner there once, but I thought it was overpriced and underwhelming. Go there for brunch for sure!

As we walked into the restaurant last night, we immediately felt overwhelmed by the loud music, and struggled to carry on a conversation, The food was mediocre..,really just barely adequate. The only thing that scored high numbers , unfortunately, was the bill. (Expensive).i would have a difficult time recommending this restaurant. Lynne

Six of us for dinner on 1/3/15. We all ordered somethin' different and pretty much taste-tested all around. Very good food, comfortable and as friendly and attentive a waitress (Mandy) as one could expect considerin'...Two tables away another group of six were seated and weren't from around here. Indian, Pakistani? Not sure but they made it d**n clear to Mandy that they were all vegetarians and demanded her constant care with ridiculous questions and substitutions. Had I been the waitress I would've suggested goin' somewhere else. We'll be back to try the pies but will check the dinin' room out before bein' seated. That particular group was rude and condescendin'. Still, somehow, Mandy and her crew kept their cool.

Visited on a Sunday at 4. Deli was empty. The girl behind the counter was completely incompetent. Had to repeatedly ask us what we ordered, even after paying. Told us they were out of cannolis so we asked for our money back on that item. She then magically pulled them out of the freezer in the back as if she were too lazy to check in the first place. Our order of 2 sandwhiches (which were missing provolone in the end) and 2 cannolis took about 20 min to make. The food was bland and unremarkable, especially considering the price. Not a single cent more will leave my pocket and go to Nonnas. Grade: F

Heard about this place and couldn't wait to go. Though it was going to be great as there was a wait and that's always a good sign but my excitement turned quickly with poor service and so-so food. My dish was cold and when I mentioned it to the server she started with one excuse after another not to mention her complaining about her having to work in the first place as she should have been gone by now. At that point it was all I could do to ask her for the check so we could leave. New and struggling to figure it out.

Other than having to ask to be seated - service was marginal. Food was tasteless, both the Veal Marsala and Lasagna. Had much better at Carraba's Grill. For the money, you may find better tasting food elsewhere. You only get one piece of their bread. Had to ask for more and then the server stated "It wasn't her policy!" and took off to get more- again one piece! WOW! bread is not that costly. Can cross this place off.

I will not return to this place. This review is only for the deli. I have been there 3 times, only got food once. The first visit was on the second day they were open. There was only 1 person working the counter and 1 cook. It took about 15 minutes to be helped, and then they had to get the manager to even enter the order into the register. We got a Reuben sandwich with pastrami instead of corned beef and a Chicago Dog with potato salad. A bit over priced in my opinion but the food was good. This was the only good experience there. The second time I stopped by after work to pick up some potato salad to go. After being ignored by 2 people at the deli counter for about 10 minutes a chef from the back finally came out. When I asked for the potato salad, she said that they usually have it but they did not make any today. The deli counter was barren of any other options so I left empty handed. I thought we would give the place one more chance on Sunday. We stopped in to get 2 Reuben sandwiches with pastrami (same as the first visit). We were again ignored by the single person at the deli counter for about 10 minutes. She did not even bother to acknowledge our presence until an older lady (manager or owner maybe) asked us if we were being helped. When we said no, she got the girl behind the counter to finally talk to us. When we tried to place our order, she said that she could not substitute pastrami for corned beef because it was an inventory problem and the price was different. When I pointed out that the Reuben and the pastrami sandwiches were both $9, she said that corned beef and pastrami were basically the same and there were no substitutions. That is when we decided to leave and never to return. Based on our visits and some of the other reviews, I don't see this place lasting more than a few months. Very disappointing.

Food is delicious, service has been slow during each of the half a dozen times we have visited (lunch a little faster than dinner; by service we mean the time it takes for a waiter to show up to take an order, bring bread to the table). Unfortunately, we cannot recommend as one of us has a severe nut allergy and when we clearly communicated this to our waiter, we were served ice cream w/ amaretto (unbeknownst to us). The waiter tried his best to 'mitigate' and kept shuttling back and forth between us and the owner. We were very disappointed that the owner, although she was on the premises, did not deem it necessary to come to our table in person. Dealing with anaphylaxis is stressful and needless to say we shall not return to pay for another such unpleasant experience. If you have food allergies we advise you to go elsewhere. There is an Urgent Care right next door but they closed at 8 p.m.

We stepped into Nona's at 6PM on a busy Thursday night. We were seated promptly and Devin our server greeted us and took our drink order while offering us menus. We ordered wine and the mushroom appetizer. Those little sausage filled morsels were wonderful. Followed by a crisp wedge salad that had a nice salty panchetta as a garnish. I ordered a veal picatta that had great flavor at first but was very tough and grissally. When brought to the attention to our sever he replaced it with chicken picatta which was very good. I ordered the bread pudding to end the meal that was perfectly baked with nice flavors of Carmel and cinnamon. Overall a nice experience and will try Nona's again for a great Italian dinner.

Came for lunch and was not at all impressed. There was no hostess to greet us when we walked in leaving us awkwardly standing around for about 10 minutes until a server noticed us. We ordered bruschetta to start which was disappointing. The bread wasn't warm or toasted, just very plain. I ordered a baked pasta which was nothing special at all. I probably could have done a better job cooking it myself at home. We ordered tiramisu and cappuccinos for dessert. The tiramisu had good flavors but came out looking lopsided and kind of an eye sore. The cappuccinos came out burnt and was hardly drinkable. The one good part of our experience was the server who was very attentive and personable. I don't see myself returning though, especially when there are plenty of other decent Italian places in town.

I'll try one more time but my first visit was disappointing. Just wanted to try out the deli, Since we didn't want a sit down dinner. We stood there looking at the menu for about 10 minutes. 3 staff members walked by us and one behind the counter. One person even suggested printed menus since I didn't have my glasses. Ready to order and surprise surprise, we were told they were closed and we can get what was left in the desserts. Wow! I think someone could have said something earlier. I usually give restaurants only 2 chances. Especially if it's service. I hope my next visit is better and the food is good. If not, I'll stick to Armando's. I've yet to have a bad experience there.

First date night of 2015 and it couldn't have been better! The atmosphere was wonderful ...clean, comfortable and great live singing. The food was perfect. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We'll return soon!

The employees don't seem to know the menu. The guy in front of me couldn't get the cashier or cook to tell him what came on his sandwich and my Italian Beef was unremarkable. Couple that with a 10 minute wait and I don't see myself going back until I get Alzheimer's.

You know how you're not supposed to write an email or make a phone call when you're angry? I've given it a few days to think about and still need to give this place a "1". This review is for the bistro. Background: I worked in restaurants/fine dining for years, so while I'm no expert, I'm not exactly a lay person...either at dining or managing restaurants. I will sum up what I anticipate will be a rather lengthy review with this: Most of the problems we encountered could have been solved by using a soft opening/non-greedy owner who was prepared to do what was necessary to have a successful launch. Have they only been open a short time? Yes. Yet were they open and still charging full price? YES! The Pros: It's a nice space, our server was fairly friendly (though lacked proper training on menu and ipad interface...see below) and reasonably attentive. Without question, the majority of the problems with our experience and the restaurant as a whole were not hers, only hers to bear. The chicken parmesan was fairly good, 3-4 stars and i enjoyed the rolls. The issues: To begin with, the menu, while packaged well in a nice tri-fold and faux-leather-bound case was laden with grammatical errors (Bolgnese, grass feed beef). Not a big deal, most of my emails, reviews and general communications are, but unfortunately things went downhill from here. After ordering one thing from the menu (mac) we were told "oh we don't have that". Upon showing our server the menu, she said, yeah we don't have that. "is there anything else you don't have" asked my wife? Yes, we don't have the bottom few items on the kids section. We proceeded to order our meal and 20 minutes later, our server came back and asked me "I'm sorry, which item did you order?" Unfortunately they didn't make the lasagna primavera (again...then why was it on the menu, and more importantly, why didn't YOU KNOW it wasn't offered until 20 minutes after ordering? (salads were already finished). It's been a few years since I've worked in restaurants, but i can remember before every meal the servers sat down and the chef told us "86 yada yada..." for whatever we didn't have that night. After waiting an hour for our meal (okay it was only 55 minutes), we received our meals which i won't even spend much time discussing, though i'll mention that my pomodoro (second choice after no lasagna) was borderline too salty to eat, and a tad heavy on the anchovies. I wasn't paying for the meal so I only minimally complained when i was frustrated about the lasagna and comment "we don't have a lot on the menu" but I have a BIG issue that the only recompense for everything was "I know and we're keeping a list of all of the things we need to fix". I can only suggest that you wait a long, LONG time before visiting here as they will be working on this list for a VERY long time. And no, there was nothing taken off the bill. Again, in my opinion, this is the result of an overzealous owner who wasn't willing to wait to open after the final chairs and tables were delivered. In my humble opinion, they needed to do a soft opening, not charge or at least budget some discounts for so many of the errors. I understand a new restaurant opening (and have been a server in newly opened restaurants), but the degree to which they occurred was pretty inexcusable. As another reviewer stated, I feel badly for the owners of the other Nonnas.

So disappointed that I have to write this update. My first two experiences at Nonna's were very positive, so I was looking forward to another great meal. Unfortunately, quality has deteriorated in virtually all areas. I understand that it's a new restaurant, and still developing, but there has to be some sort of consistency. I wanted to order the delicious stuffed pork chop that I'd had before, but my party was informed that we shouldn't order from the grill section or the calzones, because it would "take so long that it wouldn't be worth it." I decided just to have some of the same mussels that I'd been impressed with at happy hour. I got a completely different dish. The mussels were clearly a different species than before -- they were now the giant cheap kind you'd use in a stew. They weren't served whole either. The shells had been pulled apart and they were served only on the half shell. I've never had mussels served that way. You couldn't tell which had opened all the way, because the kitchen had pried them all apart. They seem like they'd been batch-roasted in advance instead of steamed in broth to order. They'd previously been the smaller PEI mussels, cooked in their broth to order, and served whole. They seemed really fresh the first time. These were rubbery and disappointing. The seafood in the cioppino was equally disappointing, and the cioppino is full of spaghetti, which is very unusual. Another member of my party ordered stuffed mushrooms. They were cold. Not just underheated -- cold. They were also smothered in a dijon dressing that made them even colder. The child's pizza had also changed since my previous visit. It was half the size as before, with a thicker crust, and no longer cut into squares. The wonderful garlic knots previously included with meals have been replaced with bland sliced bread. I'm being generous tonight in awarding a second star (only because of a tasty and unusual *white* pasta fagioli loaded with smoky pancetta). If this was my first visit, it would also be my last. The place has so much potential, and I saw them come close to realizing it before. I think I'll give them a couple of months to work the kinks out. Another experience like tonight's and I won't return.

This was a wonderful experience! Each dish was delicious, perfectly portioned and beautifully presented. We ordered the chicken picatta and the penne arrabiata. Oh, then 3, yes 3, desserts to share. The cannoli, creme brulee and the gelatto flight. Rachel, our server was knowledgeable, charming and funny. Nonna herself was kind and energetic. This is my new favorite place!

Just finished my fourth visit; two dinners and two lunches. Dinners: one great, Chicken Marsela, and the other Egg Plant, first one overcooked, retry, average. Caesar salad and bread, very good. Same waitress on both dinner occassions, was excellent. Lunches in the deli were both excellent. The truly great baggete bread made the Chicken Parm and Crab sandwiches a joy to devour. Finally, on all visits, the owner, Diedra, was wonderful. She makes you feel like you are guest in her own home.

My wife and I came in for dinner on a Saturday night. They had only been open less than 11 days (the server told us). The dining room was filled almost to capacity. There was a short delay in our entree delivery, but the flavors made up for everything. Here is what we had followed by a short description of each: *Vodka martinis: Up with a twist. It was served ice cold and garnished perfectly. Not watered down. *Chef Victor's crab cakes: Two lightly flash-fried, tasting more like fresh crab than anything else, which is how crab cakes should be. Served with a spicy aioli that complemented it perfectly. Nice greens on the plate as a garnish made the presentation pop. *Chicken Marsala: I like to order something classic when I come to a new restaurant and see what the chef's take on it is. This dish came with linguini (cooked nice and all dente) and a chicken breast that was whole instead of pounded. At first I was suspicious but then after my first bite I understood. The breast had been seared, then cooked in the oven and then a pan jus was made from the caramelized drippings and was rich and full of mushroomy flavor (nice touch using a variety of shrooms...not just buttons) and a nice autumny background note of sage. Delicious. *Linguini Vongole: Lots of clams! Nice fresh clams in the shell. The sauce tasted like they had been harvested that day, and the balance of white wine, lemon and butter was just right. Not too garlicky, either. We didn't have dessert. After dinner we walked through the attached deli/market. They had lots of sweets on display and meats and even some neat, hard-to-find specialty grocery items. We'll be back to pick up some of those things soon. I'm giving Nonna's four stars out of five just because they are still so new and have a couple of timing issues to work out. I think given two more weeks they will be nailing it. It's great to have some real Italian in the neighborhood. We will definitely be back!

I have visited Nonna's twice now, once for brunch and once for dinner. Both visits have left a very favorable impression from the service to the food, especially the Scampi al Bistro for dinner. Incredible! The interior is gorgeous and definitely shows a lot of thought, time, and money went into the build out. I really hope this place makes a it, Centennial is lacking original, family owned restaurants that serve quality food. It is a tad overpriced, but I am willing to pay a little extra for good food close to home.

I went there for dinner and ordered a sausage pizza. I asked the waiter to have it cooked a little longer so it would be a bit crunchy. The entire middle was soggy and limp. There might have been five small pieces of sausage on there. I think it came with calamari on top. I wouldn't know because the pieces were chewy and also very soggy. I'm hoping it was calamari, otherwise I don't know what I ate! Terrible, terrible restaurant. I will never return..

Wonderful Italian family friendly and welcoming amazing tasty authentic Italian food. Flavorful, expertly crafted not authentic Italian fare. What a beautiful open and classy restaurant! Great place to celebrate anniversary dinner.

Great happy hour prices and apps, wonderful ambiance and more. Calamari is the best this side of little Italy. Arrabiata pasta has just a bite of a kick. Top it off with even better service. Tarah took such great care of us. Made the perfect suggestions. impeccable service.

Still having growing pain, this place. I go back for the Prosecco. Shari is the best barkeep ever. Ask for her by name. Tell her you were sent by the Prosecco Mafia. She'll know you're family.

  • Shira Y.

The wait time for food was 15-20 minutes and that was in the Deli area to pick up food. It seemed as if the employees were bickering at each other and the customers saw it first hand go back and forth.

Good food and atmosphere. Musical act with dinner with soft oldies gave the place good character. Food was good but pescatore was a tad oily but taste was good and plenty of fresh garlic. The food and good friendly service will bring us back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
