This place deserves five stars! Great location, outdoor seating and a personable waitress. The host checked on us throughout the night, the kind gentleman who filled our waters was great (I probably drank 6 glasses and he always was there with extra water and a smile) and the kind girl who switched our butter knives for steak knives was a peach. The food was fresh, we ordered the flat iron streak and duck breast, and the desserts were delicious and light! To anyone coming to Aspen who wants a nice night out, at a good price, this is the spot! And of course because I always adds this in ... They were knowledgeable and courteous in regards to allergens! Overall: great service and great food - don't overlook this spot!

Patio lunch with gorgeous mountain view in the back. Chicken sandwich with fried bread for lunch was also very good. I wish I could sit out here for hours but I'm here for work not for fun.

Kale salad with brussel sprouts and apples was delicious. They were out of fish tacos at 12:15 on a Saturday (and that's why we went). Settled for falafel that was ok but not great.

I don't ski, and I don't do cold, so I eat. A lot. For this Georgia-born snow virgin's first trip to the arctic tundra of Aspen, I had the opportunity to stuff myself at at least one different restaurant every day, and sadly, BB's took a definitive last place during my week-long vacation. The number one reason? The wait - two hours for food in a pretty empty place without apology is pretty frustrating. There was a point where we asked our server to forget about the entrees for all of us. Once my stomach started shriveling in pain, my antelope entree arrived devastatingly overcooked, on a bed of potatoes that I had asked to sub out. The 4 year old at our table, who ordered a cheeseburger off the kids' menu, was served a frighteningly bloody rare patty, likely scaring him into an endless future of McDonald's. Not good. The menu sounded so good, and the comfortably modern and just-loud-enough ambiance was awesome - hence, one of the two stars. The second star goes to the refill-happy waiter, who kept us hydrated as our starvation worsened. Maybe it was a hunger hallucination, but he winked every time he poured. Awesome. No desire to see-see if BB's improves their game (literally, as well - the antelope needs work!). Too many other spots in Aspen worth trying!

I am going to let you in on a little secret here... One of the best bars in Aspen. Best burger in Aspen. Maybe the best and affordable wine list in Aspen (nice Oregon whites) We wanted to keep it local but now the secret is out :-) Gorgeous patio overlooking the mountain. Great staff and bartenders. This place has it going on. Brunch is great sitting outside.

Amazing! Great restaurant in the heart of Aspen, the "big eye ahi carpaccio" was outstanding!! Just delicious! The Brandt beef ribeye was great and the buffalo filet mignon also great, for dessert the s'mores ice cream is also very good. Great service and nice atmosphere.

If you're looking for a fine dining restaurant with a pompous attitude, sky high prices and portion sizes so small you leave hungry, then this place is not it. BB's in Aspen does great food in a cool, casual atmosphere. The menu is diverse and creative offering a wide variety of dishes without getting confused. Each item was prepared simply and respectfully to showcase the quality of each ingredient. Each plate was executed beautifully. We tried several menu items including the DLT, burrata salad with fresh white peaches and heirloom tomatoes, lobster salad, and antelope with risotto. Everything was great, perfectly prepated, thoughtfully presented. There are many other menu items I want to back for. There are many gluten free options, and they can accommodate many special dietary needs, as I am on a no-sugar anti-candida protocol. In a town that can sometimes have excessive attitude, BB's is a welcome change of pace.

Quietly excellent Aspen dining spot that recently refined its menu, emphasizing small dishes with a global influence. Try the excellent grilled sardines, shishito peppers, or the pierogi for starters, and the "simply prepared" rib eye is an excellent finish to a hard day on the slopes. French fries are not something I typically mention, but BB's fries are superb. BB's makes a terrific roast chicken as well, though you will need to give the restaurant advance notice or be prepared to wait 40 minutes. (It looked worth the wait on both visits.) The children's menu is a nice value, too, particularly BBQ ribs and the kid's rib eye, and a warm flour-less chocolate dessert certainly got attention from all at our table. I like BB's a lot--it's a modern, upstairs spot with a cool decor, and it's a satisfying way to end the day. (The wine selection looked nice, too, though Aspen's mountain-high altitude kept me from indulging too much.)

Do you like FOOD POISIONING? Keep reading then.... Let's see...where do I start. My whole family was in Aspen and a few of us were leaving the very next day so we decided a family dinner was in order. BB's was chosen since none of us had ever eaten there and they could accommodate our party. We walk in- nice restaurant, good ambience- horrible table set up. It was a long booth set against a wall with chairs on the opposite side of the booth. Oh, you are the person that has to sit booth side with the wall to your right- oh, wait did you say you need to go to the bathroom? Hold on, because4-5 people have to scotch out of the booth to let you out and then back in. Really people? Come on! The staff there is so inexperienced and unprofessional it's pathetic. They have no idea what they are doing. For the prices you pay the service should be much better. We were a party of 10 and had random people wait on us, not sure who our main server was. Multiple times we had to ask for utensils as they took them away after appetizers or salads and didn't replace them. Kids never got the drinks they ordered until we reminded the server and by kids I mean between the ages of 14-10. They can speak for themselves and know how to dine. Let talk food: Mom ordered the chef's selection which is various courses. The courses were brought out inconsistently and not in a timely manner of when the rest of us got our food. Server brought one course and couldn't tell us what was on the top of the dish. She had to go ask the chef, who either told her and she didn't hear or he told her incorrectly. We are experienced diners and my parents, well they know a thing or two about food. When she came back and said it was fois gras, my mom looked at all of us with this look of no way! It wasn't fois gras, maybe a fois gras pate, but that's not the same. We all ordered multiple dishes. I along with 3 others orders the ahi tacos, which going down were great! Let's go to 1-2 days later. Fish tacos- not so good anymore. 4 of us, sick as a dog! My 11 year old nephew, my sister, sister's boyfriend and myself...I'm 6 months pregnant. We are all violently ill with FOOD POISIONG! Luckily 3 of us were already in the comforts of our own homes to ride it out. I had to get a prescription from my dr to make it stop- to let me be able to drink water so I didn't dehydrate! The 4th person had to deal with this in transit going home! That was awful. My parents who stay in Aspen a month are still there. Mom calls BB's to speak to the "manager" she says was very unprofessional about it all. He says: 1. "We all ate them last night and are fine." Great response manager- did you learn that in your hotel and restaurant management classes? Probably not, because you are just some random who needed a job. Well, we ate them 5 nights ago- you think y'all had the same piece of fish we ate? Hi moron manager 2, "Are you sure it wasn't the flu?" This is a laughable response! I am a teacher and I don't even get the flu from my students! 4 of us just happened to get the "flu" after eating the same item from your establishment? You really are an idiot. Basically, he has no response because he has no idea what he's doing. Mom then tells him she's giving the health dept a call and he doesn't say much. I don' think he even knows what that means. So there you have it-$600 bill and 4 of us sick....do I recommend? NEVER! There are so many better places, with better food and service in Aspen.

Appetizers taste just like any three star yelp restaurants, very plain, their pasta is good. Place is very crowded and small.

What can I say about BB's that's positive? The two stars represents the very good service and good coffee. Our waiter was very attentive and informative on the area. Also enjoyed the background music and atmosphere. Unfortunately we did not go to learn about the area and just drink coffee. We wanted a good place to eat lunch while visiting Aspen for the day. It was very disappointing as the items on the menu sounded delicious. Nothing is worse than getting a dish that sounds great but presentation and taste is terrible. I had the "DLT" and it had so much mayonnaise (ugh) that it made everything else in the sandwich bland including the duck and duck bacon. The avocado was not very good either. Side salad was the best part. My wife ordered a panini, which seems hard to mess up. Bread was not good and it was soggy. Maybe we ordered the wrong items, but I suggest do some research before going as it definatley is not worth the price.

I've consistently been hearing that BB's is the place to go for breakfast/brunch in Aspen, so I finally decided to give it a go. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Good and Good. You can tell this is where all of the ski instructors work in the off-season, but that's not a bad thing. The staff were knowledgeable and accommodating, and our food came out quick. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Alas, this is where my first issue cropped up. Yes, it's Aspen, so you can expect that 30% of the cost is because you're in Aspen, but we're talking breakfast here. These aren't luxury ingredients that need to be trucked in from Denver on the daily. I opted for the Fire-Roasted Green Chili Pork Stew. For $12.00 pre-tax? I was expecting a colossal pot. That's not quite what I got: yelp.com/user_local_phot… $12? No. No Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? The stew was both unique and satisfying, but I kept thinking back to the fact that I was likely going to pay $15 for it after tax and tip. Even on the merit of taste alone, it didn't completely blow my socks off. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Nah. Unfortunately, I felt like I was paying for the decor and location as opposed to the actual meal I was eating. I've experienced better. No Star Granted.

I ate in the lounge with a party of 4 for brunch on a Sunday. It's a great 2nd story location with lots of natural light. The pork belly hash with sweet potatoes and poached eggs was super tasty. Just the right amount of sweetness. Huevos rancheros was not overwhelmed with red chili but was well balanced and had good flavor. The bagel sandwich wasn't a stand out (compared to everything else on the table) but still solid. Lyonnaise potatoes were well prepared and had the right amount of "crunch". I did however, find a thick strand of cloth baked into my bagel. No bigs, eat around it. The monkey bread was perfect to share with the table. It contained larger pieces than what I'm used to and a bit burnt on top but it's monkey bread... mmm...

BBs rocked! I will definitely be returning here for dinner soon. The food was creative and delicious, the service was very professional and attentive, and the atmosphere comfortable and casual. Check out the peach risotto - as a big fan of risotto this creation stood out as my favorite part of the meal and a testament to the skilled and innovative chef. In addition to great appetizers and small plates the desserts are phenomenal. I loved the kit-kat bon bons chocolate lava cake and and peach cobbler.

Bloody Mary's were delicious. However we made a few requests when we ordered food for instance no bun to avoid gluten... Big fat bun came they did not pay attention to our requests. Service was not great they never really came to check on us. I did like that they use happy meat tho.

I always eat at BB's while in Aspen. I normally come for Brunch and meet a group of friends. Everything on the menu is awesome and I had the bottomless bloody mary for $15! It worked out well for me. We always order the monkey bread (AMAZING) and the lemon ricotta pancakes!!!!! I would weigh 20lbs more if I lived in the same city as this place! The decor is awesome and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Next time I go, I would like to try the Maine Lobster Benedict. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu at this place. Enjoy!

Happy to have discovered the revamped BBs last night. Excellent small plates in a contemporary setting. Friendly staff - especially Christina. Nice alternative to the occasionally pretentious Aspen dining scene.

I would give them 4 stars on food but 1 on service. We ate there in the "off season" but we're still ridiculously rushed through our meal. While still finishing our first course we were asked if we'd like our main course started. We of course responded "no" yet 5 minutes later our mains came out and we were still finishing the first. By the time we finished our meals (which got cold sitting in front of us) we had barely finished 1/3 of our bottle if wine. When we raised this with "Chris" our waiter he basically brushed off as this how he does things. And we never saw him the rest of the night. We won't be back.

My first stop in Aspen did not disappoint. We ate a later brunch here and it was a great way to start my trip. The huevos rancheros were amazing! Yummy flavor and great taste. YUM YUM YUM!

Pros: great food and service Cons: none Had dinner here multiple times. The menu is just outstanding. The food is a solid 5 stars, and the service is 5 stars all the way too. Even the deserts are 5 stars... I just can't say enough good things about BB's Kitchen. Just a great place to eat and drink in Aspen. Came here three days in a row, and still need to go back for more. You will not be disappointed.

We went there recently and had a very bad experience. My three main complaints: 1) I ordered an omelette and it had a hair in it, 2) my wife ordered a burrata panini and they forgot to put the burrata in, when we asked about the burrata rather than preparing a new sandwich they brought some burrata in a cup expecting her to jam the burrata in herself, and 3) I was completely appalled to see a $25 steak and fries on the kids menu. Lastly, after the hair-in-my-omelette incident they didn't even have the courtesy of giving us any discount on our bill apart from just discounting the price of the omelette. I don't plan to set foot in this place ever again.

Our first meal (brunch) in Aspen, so we turned to Yelp for something both open and with good reviews. I guess there's no accounting for taste. The upstairs location is very chic, and since it was a nice morning we were seated on the deck. It took a little while for our waitress to come and get our drink orders. Waiting was a bit of a theme for everything but water, which the bus filled religiously. The best thing about this place were a "BLT" Bloddy Mary and a good Macchiato. The Bloddy was served, as described, with a good, thick-cut piece of bacon, some artisan cherry tomatoes and a piece of lettuce. My wife's macchiato was well balanced. Food wise, I got some red-chile pork thing that came out in a 4" skillet with 2 eggs. It was good for a few bites, but as I continued the "sweet" flavor overtook other flavors and I didn't end up finishing. My wife had the "green eggs and ham" omelet which consisted of tough prosciutto & spongy-in-a-bad-way eggs. They were green, somehow, though I'm not sure it added to the flavor.

On Sunday, we perused the outdoor menus in downtown Aspen looking for a lunch spot. We walked from one establishment to the other. Next. Next. Next. Then ... BB's menu had a 1/4 Vienna Beef hot dog on a PRETZEL BUN. How could we say no to that? Well maybe because the price was $14 for a hot dog, but then again, it is Aspen. So we thought again about the pretzel bun. Sold. Our choice was made. Yum -- all that I could think about was how great that pretzel bun would taste. I ordered a cider and waited. Finally the dogs came out, but they were on a poppy seed roll. UGHH!!! I was so disappointed!!! We informed our server that the sole reason why we chose BB's was because the pretzel bun appealed to us. The server spoke to the chef who sent the manager. It turns out, Paul, the manager comped the entire meal because there was a recent change on the menu (bun substitution) and he (1) wanted us to have a great experience (2) wanted us to come back. (1) The dog was great on the poppy seed bun (but would have been better on the pretzel) so we had a great experience (2) I will eat there next time that I am in town. BB's is a true 5 Star Establishment.

Yes. BB's Kitchen is worthy of a meal (or two) while you are in Aspen. Attention to detail and their customers is top of mind. We ate dinner and brunch during our recent stay in the area. The grouper was moist, perfectly seasoned and grilled. As were the lamb chops and chicken breasts. Save room for dessert the chocolate confections are chocolately and divine (worth every calorie IMO), the breads puddings are delish (try the chocolate with caramel sauce for a tasty treat and the strawberry shortcake was perfection - the biscuit was light, airy, and tasty -- they have mastered high altitude baking. And brunch: order it all you won't be disappointed. Fluffy egg white omelets filled with fresh local ingredients. Yum. Ala carte orders are no problem. And their smoked salmon is divine. Did I mention that Their coffee drinks are on point.

Dont bother coming here its a total waist of money. The people are nice but the service & food is just below average. How do you get chicken fingers wrong? Well they served uncooked chicken fingers to my child, thank goodness i caught it. Then my husband & our friends ordered the half chicken & it was served on a wooden cutting board & as soon as they cut into it the chicken oozed out blood & was raw. Disgusted we showed the manager but all they could say was sorry. At that point you would think they would comp the 3 small plates we had ordered but to our surprise the manager presented us a bill for $88. All we ate was a salad, ahi tuna appetizer & 2 orders of yam & my childs chicken fingers (which were $15) i felt robbed & disgusted.

The freshest most innovative cuisine in Aspen! Quality ingredients presented in a thoughtful way with reasonable prices. Chef Matt is bringing his evolved skills to this previously unremarkable restaurant. A notable improvement, which will not doubt catch on.

Overall, the experience was very disappointing. This was my second time to BB's and it will be my last. It is highly overrated, the menu is very limited and the options aren't great for vegetarians (which I'm not but my father-in-law is). While the food was just so-so (I ordered salmon over udon noodles, which was good), the service was awful! It took three requests for the wait staff to bring us bread & butter; when we asked for a lemon, we got a new diet coke w a lemon. When I asked if a particular beer was on tap, the waitress came but didn't answer the questions. I then ordered another beer and a pour of tequila. The beer arrived but the tequila didn't. My kids ordered the lamb chops, which they claim "tasted like cafeteria food". Oh, and thanks for adding a 20% tip to the bill for awful service. Overpriced

Voted Aspen's best brunch spot and I can tell why! This contemporary restaurant has great service, delicious food, and a fabulous patio. You know the service is great when they aren't offended by the fact that I am so hungover I cannot take off my hood, baseball hat, or sunglasses and he still treated me great. I am not trying to be rude I am just on another level of hangover. Anyways...back to the review... We called ahead on Sunday because it had been very hard finding Vegan fare in Aspen and we needed a seriously delicious, bring you back to life brunch. BB's Kitchen was just that! They make a lot of their dishes fresh as you order so it was easy to change the breakfast burrito into a perfect vegan dish. The great capper to a great brunch was how affordable this joint is! The four of us got out of there for just over $50 and they didn't even charge us for all of our vegan substitutions!

We had a big breakfast here our last day in Aspen. It's a casual spot with a great menu. They have the healthy options (which was nice while trying to stick to the new years resolutions and it only being January 2nd) but also indulgent options like monkey bread and pulled pork Benedict. I did a little bit of everything. I shared the California omelette with egg whites, avocado, tomato and goat cheese and also had a nibble of the bananas foster French toast and the warm and gooey monkey bread. Both were pretty decadent and stellar but definitely not resolution food or a healthy start to the day but a nice little treat! Greek yogurt with agave and berries was really great as well... A nice low key spot for a meal while in Aspen that won't break the bank!

Very inconsistent food, but that isn't surprising because the staff is different nearly every time you go to the restaurant. I used to go when they had breakfast/lunch which has been discontinued. BB now offers dinner in what looks like a breakfast/lunch establishment. The dinner menu is silly, the staff concurred and said, it's what BB himself likes...oh well.

  • Jim H.

Party of 7. Everything ordered was good. But the menu is kind of a mess. The restaurant is trying for small plates to share, but the menu is all over the map with courses and serving sizes.

    (3)
  • Mark S.

Overpriced for breakfast, and yes I know it's in Aspen. But 2 eggs with bacon and toast shouldn't cost $13. And that wasn't even the worst part. The tables are much too close together, so you're literally eating on top of the people next to you. Or if you're sitting on the "aisle" side, you're constantly getting bumped by people walking by. But the most egregious thing that happened during our visit was when they were cleaning the table next to us. Like I said the tables were close together so when the busboy sprayed the cleaning solution on the table next to us, the spray landed in both my wife and my food that had just been delivered. Not good eats.

This restaurant was so good we ate dinner there twice in 4 days. BB's has a great menu selection and awesome service. Our young daughters (9 and 6 years old) enjoyed the kid's menu as well. Kudos to Raymond, our server, who was fantastic. He was very helpful when making our dinner selections and helping us find great wines to pair with the dinner. The deserts were awesome as well. On weekends, they have live music provided by musicians from the music school. I highly recommend BB's and Raymond!

I popped in for a quick lunch, and the DLT (a duckish play on BLT) seemed perfect. My mouth wasn't prepared for the awesomeness that ensued. The flavors were not something I'd ever expect in sandwich form, but wow. The wait staff was also friendly and attentive. In fact, while I was distracted by the food, they recommended I relocate off the patio, saving me from the torrential downpour 5min later. Will def be back to explore the menu further

I enjoyed the healthy and creative spin to the restaurant. We started out with the "chips and dip," zucchini chips with green goddess dressing, mmm. The table was served pretzel balls with port mustard sauce, oh so good! I got the cod which was delicious, the boyfriend got the lobster dish- not so great and flavorless, and his mom got the salmon which was delicious too. We also shared the truffled mac and cheese. It was on the soupy side but still tasty. I would recommend giving this place a try.

Started off great. We go there before their rush. The patio is great if you are there during the summer season. By the time we ordered they had gotten hit with a rush. Our order came and my steak and egg quesadilla had an overcooked over medium egg, but somehow the side of the yolk was still runny. I asked someone walking by to take it back, she said she could bring me a new plate but it would be 15-20 minutes, because they had just gotten busy. This while I am looking across at my fiances plate. So effectively we would eat separately. Why this person didn't just offer to take the plate and quickly bring me a new one, blew my mind. So I asked another person for the manager. Guess who came to the table? The gal who said it would be 15-20 for me to get a new plate. After telling her I was shocked she was the manager, she listened to my concern and left. But a few minutes later she came back with a new plate. The food was great, and very creative to do a breakfast quesadilla. They actually didn't charge for any of our food, so that was a nice touch. At the end of it all, I mentioned to the server (who was very attentive and great) it is not always how you start, but how things end when something goes awry at a restaurant. Moral of the story; Let the situation play out and see how the restaurant responds if you have an issue. And understand some times they get crushed, and put in the weeds quickly so you may get caught up in that.

My wife and I were really looking forward to trying BB's, and unfortunately were quite disappointed. Service: The wait staff was fine. The girl that waited on us was polite, but preoccupied with a disagreement with the kitchen staff and other tables. Food&Price: -Their fresh pretzel bread was fantastic! -The "wedge" salad was loose leave iceberg lettuce instead of an actual wedge (weird). But, it did taste good. $12 worth? Probably -French onion soup was good. It was well balanced and worth the $12. -The Chicken pot pie tasted nearly identical to a store bought frozen pie. It even had frozen vegetables in it. -I ordered the 12oz rib-eye witch came out as a 6-8oz fillet and had very generic french fries as the side. DEFINITELY not worth the +$30 price tag! -Flour-less chocolate cake tasted terrible! I think it may have actually been a traditional chocolate cake that was ridiculously dry. This meal was worth about 25% of the $105 price tag.

Ate here for brunch. - Ambience - modern design and feel. Dining room is a little crowded (I was less than two feet away from the person at the table next to us), but there's a very moderate volume to the place, so you can still have a personal conversation without shouting or annoying the table next to you. - Service - Was sat quickly. The server was friendly and efficient. It was moderately busy the day we went. Never ran out of water. Food was served very quickly after we ordered it. - Food/Drinks - The food was good and drinks were average. I had a mimosa and my wife had a bloody mary. I couldn't tell if the OJ was fresh squeezed or not. Portions are moderate. We shared a meal, but would probably get separate orders if we went back. Bacon was excellent - eggs were good but a tad undercooked. Wheat toast is excellent and potatoes are average. - Value - It's Aspen, so it's pricey. Drinks are $10 - $15 which was high for what we got (in my opinion). Food was reasonable, though portions were perhaps a little on the small side for what you pay. - Overall - The place gets a four star review for a cool vibe and tasty food.

The food and service were both outstanding. The executive chef was part of a winning Iron Chef team and it's easy to see why. Every dish we tried was fresh and tasty. The complimentary pretzel rolls were delicious too. Our server (Raymond) was very knowledgable about the menu and helpful with making suggestions based on our preferences. The outdoor patio was pleasant and has both heaters and large umbrellas in case the Aspen weather doesn't quite cooperate. We were accompanied during our meal by students from the Aspen music school who were performing in the courtyard below. To top it all off, prices are quite reasonable for the high quality of food.

Went 3x last year and LOVED it. Menu changed this season and it's horrible! 7 adults and we all ordered the same thing because it was only decent item on menu. Food was still excellent but menu needs to go back to previous. Service very nice and accommodating. Did I mention how bad the new menu is!!!

BB's, you know the path to my heart. A hot cup of coffee with cream. And. Lemon Blueberry Ricotta pancakes with a creamy, lemony sauce. Let's back up. It was our first morning in Aspen and we were seeking out some brunch. My aunt and uncle recommended several places, and I selected BB's solely on the fact that they had lemon ricotta pancakes (be still, my heart!). Once I saw those I knew where we should go - I'm a selfish bitch. Sue me. It was a quiet Thursday morning at BB's and we were the only guests. We all ordered our brunches/beverages and our food was ready in about 10-15 minutes. Service was nice and attentive, refilling our coffees every few minutes. My pancakes were delicious. They were sweet and tart at the same time, with a velvety lemon ricotta sauce just covering the top pancake. It was the perfect amount of sauce - too much would have drowned the pancakes, and well, we ALL know how terrible life is when there's too LITTLE sauce to go around. (First world problems) I ate the entire plate of pancakes. I mean, really, that was more than enough food for 2 people and I couldn't stop eating. I felt like a glutton. My husband was only so-so on his choice (pulled pork benedict), hence the star deduction. I would definitely go back - but I would stick to my beloved pancakes. Sometimes trying new things is bad. This is one of those times.

Their pulled pork Benedict is supposedly one of the best dishes in Aspen, but the flavor was disappointing and one dimensional, the eggs were over cooked, and the hollandaise sauce was thick and congealing - 3 swinging strikes. The side of potatoes seemed to have been made hours earlier and reheated in the microwave as they were quite tough. And the pancakes were likes ones you might make at home, which is fine, but nothing more. Service was very gracious and helpful but this was unfortunately the highlight. The food was definitely a disappointment.

Tomato soup not so good. Turkey pot pie sub standard. Elk burger tasted like beef. Pulled chicken salad not good. Service terrible. View of the mountains was good though. So 2 years in a row - not impressed and won't return again.

This place rocks! Sophisticated and upscale atmosphere. Elegantly delicious food. Inventive bar menu. Great service. Kid friendly. What??? Kid friendly??? Yep. Read on.... I know there are a bunch of folks out there that want upscale without the thought of whiny, loud, obnoxious kids at the next table (my kids are the whiny ones that can't stay in their chairs). But, from a parent that likes upscale food and also taking their kids with them, this has to be one of the best efforts at balancing these two worlds that I have ever experienced. Now, on to the food.... The menu changes but here is what we got for dinner on a cold and snowy Sunday night in December. We started with calamari with a sweet chili roumeIade served in a neat little wooden box. It was good but the batter was a little lacking in spice for me (salt/pepper maybe?). This did let the full flavor of the tender calamari shine through, though. The sauce was good but there wasn't really enough of it for the amount of calamari served. For drinks, wife got a muddled raspberry-Hendricks gin concoction that was very good...not too sweet. I got the usual Hendricks martini (didn't prefer their brand of olives but otherwise well-crafted). For mains, I ordered the roasted half chicken with seared brussel sprouts and whipped potatoes. There was a light gravy on the chicken and a nice surprise was a little stuffing inside the chicken. Very savory and delish. A nice blend of tender chicken and tender sautéed brussel sprouts with a crispy chicken skin and crispy brussel sprout leaves over oh-so-smooth and heavenly mashed potatoes. Mmmmm....having flashbacks. Wife got the salmon and finished it off before apologizing that she didn't offer me any....I got a little taste of her risotto (not sure if it was risotto but something similar) and it was excellent. Thing 1 and Thing 2 got pasta and DEVOURED it. Thing 1 (9 years old) reported that the mac/cheese was outstanding. I don't know if this was because she spent the afternoon skiing double black diamonds or if was really "the best" but she sure ate every last morsel and I didn't get to sample any. Grown-ups passed on dessert (although the grown-up dessert menu looked fabulous). Kids got the make-your-own sundae from the kids menu. Basically, a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream with sides of hot fudge, M&M's, cookie crumbles and sprinkles. A big hit. Nice touch was that the hot fudge was high quality dark chocolate. I think my general feeling is that this place is just a great all around restaurant. A lot of care goes into the food, service and ambience. Most parents want to get in and out by the time youngsters (double income, no kids) and oldsters (retired, done with kids) show up after 7:00 so I'm guessing this works out nicely for all involved. Now, I'm off to recreate the half-chicken and brussel sprouts dish in my own kitchen back in NC. Will definitely be back next time we're in Aspen. Nice job BB!

Butternut squash soup was delicious; the salmon and udon noodles was delicious, the flourless chocolate cake was, somehow, light and airy--not like the typical brick-o-chocolate style flourless cake... maybe they used eggs? Whatever. Really good. Nice service.

This place hit the spot for us. We were able to walk in and get a table with relative ease. Our waitress was great with a friendly attitude. The food was good - I had mushroom soup and pasta with ground lamb. Pricing hedged on the high side for us common folk - but in Aspen they have to pay the rent right, so dolla bills be damned - enjoy BB's.

We have been coming to BB's every year for the last few years and it's one of our favorite spots in aspen. We went again last night and it did not disappoint- all of our food from the pear salad to the salmon to our striped bass was phenomenal! I especially loved the mussels which have a nice little kick to them. Our waiter was very attentive and was eager to give suggestions. I also appreciated the ambiance- while it was busy, none of us had to scream to be heard (which often happens at aspen restaurants I am afraid). At the end of the meal- the owner came over and gave us a packet of home made oatmeal for breakfast! SO thoughtful! Definitely dreaming about my next meal there.

Went here because of their menu online and once we got sat and waited 5 minutes for our waiter we realized that half the menu was missing...mostly the items that we wanted! I decided to order one of 5 lunch item options only to find out a few minutes later they were out of that too! We ended up leaving because there was nothing left that sounded good, just disappointed!

We weren't feeling Annie's so we ended up sitting at the bar ordering cocktails and a few bites. I truly enjoyed my dirty martini... one of the best I've had in a while, our bartender was super attentitive and courteous. Food was pretty solid and the atmosphere chic and comfortable. BB's kitchen sounds like a diner... perhaps BB's lounge or bistro is a more appropriate name. The place was happening and had a great atmosphere.

I went with 4 of my friends last Sunday morning after I had made a reservation on Open Table. As soon as we got there the hostess was extremely unfriendly and told us they didn't take reservations on Open Table (even though we had already made one). We decided to wait for a table at the bar and it took over 5 minutes for someone to ask us for our drink order. Eventually a waiter asked us for our drink order and shortly after we sat down at our table. After the slow start we were pleasantly surprised with the great service, friendly waiter and very tasty food. I would highly recommend BB's for brunch!!! The toad in the hole and California omelet were amazing!

Top notch food. My wife and I wandered in here looking for a quick lunch. She had the Cobb salad and I have the Ahi tuna wrap. Perfect execution on both. Quality ingredients paired with just the right sauces made this a repeater whenever we come back to Aspen.

Best meal we've had in Aspen after being here 4 nights. The truffle mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. The pork chop was moist and had the perfect hint of apple. I may have to come back to Aspen just to have the peanut butter bomb dessert again. Great service and atmosphere.

Easy atmosphere. You can always count on good food at reasonable prices. We can to Aspen 1-2 a year and always go at least once to BB's Kitchen. The outside patio is a great spot to eat in the summer.

Had a great meal, great service. Manager was very nice with a small issue related to my kids dinner. Everyone went above and beyond make a family dinner great. That said, it is a nice place and one you might want to skip if your kids are not acting as they should. Six months before we had a great lunch as well. So they are two for two. They should be your Aspen list.

Visited BB's for breakfast and dinner over a weekend stay in Aspen. The biscuits here are amazing, didn't have much room for dinner after 3-4 refills of biscuits! The truffle mac n cheese rocks but breakfast is where BB's truly shines. The monkey bread is AMAZING and a must have unless of course, you're on a diet. The california fresh omelet was pretty good but the breakfast sweets were definitely my favorite. I miss you Aspen!

My girlfriend and I went to BB's after reading all the great reviews, and wanted brunch outside with a great view of Aspen. Both the food and the view were at best, fair. I ordered the "Toad in the hole French toast". It was described on the menu as "Brioche bread, fried eggs, bacon, and maple syrup". What came to me were only two pieces of French toast with three small sprinkles of bacon bits. No fried eggs. The bottom piece of toast had a little maple syrup on it. I asked for more syrup which they brought me. So two pieces of French toast for $14. My girlfriend ordered the ahi wrap. It was missing the hijiki aioli as listed on the menu. The two wraps contained only medium grade tuna and way too much rice, for $22. Service was acceptable. Another thing to note, is if you plan to go there for breakfast, they do not open until 10:00.

Food: 3/5 (Everything was ok but only the Chicken was worth writing home about) Ambiance: 4/5 (Great dining room, very comfortable and well decorated) Service: 4/5 (nothing to complain about but nothing to go nuts about) Menu: 4/5 (there were a lot of entrees that I wanted to try and no shortage of appetizers either) What my party ordered: Grilled octopus with chorizo, arugula, some potato, and romesco (cheese) sauce (very tasty and well prepared... there was a little question about the freshness of the octopus) Braised meat (I forget to be honest, but I think it was beef) with vinager collard greens and a really good sauce (the meat was WAY over cooked. Braised meat should be tender and juicy, however this was pretty well done. The greens and sauce were really good, and would complement a better cooked piece of meat very nicely) Crispy boulder half chicken with roasted root veggies, and a mushroom and onion stuffing (Very enjoyable! cooked to perfection and tasted fabulous but it was a touch salty) Overall I would give this place another chance, but not before I try a couple of other local joints.

Delightful setting. Warm and welcoming staff. A great place to stop while window shopping in Aspen. We had a delicious brunch of eggs, and the special, turkey pot pie (complete with dressing and sweet potatoes). We lingered over coffee enjoying the setting and the good company.

Ate here for NYE. Had the chicken, ravioli, and lobster bisque. The service was great and our table was available immediately. The flavor of the food was very rich and at times too strong. The celery root on the chicken was dominant and the pesto on the ravioli was way over the top. We really enjoyed the table bread and the view out the window of the fireworks.

The atmosphere at BB's Kitchen was romantic and modern. Our server was amazingly professional and the perfect balance of available yet not in your face. The wine presentation, to the appetizers through the dessert were perfect and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Another perk is that they offer a vegetarian option.

We were traveling thru Aspen last week and found this place on Yelp. Picture the room. It reminded me of something that one of my gay male friends would have decorated (with a hefty budget). It was sleek and modern. I was especially loving the bar. It was covered in leather. All the waiters were beautiful and young and mostly male. There was tennis on the TV, which I thought was very telling of the regular clientele here. (Just the TINIEST hint of snooty.....) The bar was where we sat at lunchtime, because the place was hopping. I had the lobster salad sandwich, which was described as an eggroll on the menu. The bartender did explain to me that the "eggroll" description was more of an egg "bun." It was tasty, but it was much heavier than I had really wanted on such a hot day. Hubby had a smoked fish plate--basically lox and a bagel. We ordered a side of slaw and a beer. That's it. The check came to $45. For lunch. I know it's Aspen, but I still think it was too expensive and not too remarkable. Not bad, though.

We definitely enjoyed our meal here tonight. It was excellent! The salmon was delicious and the tagliatelle with sausage also delicious. The wine the waiter suggested was perfect. We took dessert (lemon pound cake, peaches & pistachio cream) to go and enjoyed it in our hotel room. The reviews mentioned that this was a good spot for kids, which influenced our decision. However, I wouldn't recommend taking small children here (ours is 20-months) unless you plan to eat early. Everyone was wonderful and accommodating (including the group in the booth behind us), but we didn't feel entirely comfortable dining here with our toddler. We hope to make it back again on our next trip to Aspen, just without the little one.

Great service, nice atmosphere, bar menu is excellent value. Tonight we enjoyed complimentary pretzels with cherry mustard along with our roasted tomato soup and wedge salad. For entrees, we really liked the salmon, turkey pot pie, and ribeye from the bar menu. Desserts were house made and incredible. Can't wait to go back!

I really like this place. Their second-story terrace has terrific views, and they offer delicious food with less pretension and slightly better prices than at many other places in Aspen. Great wine list, entrees (rack of lamb, seared scallops) that are delicate and perfectly sized in terms of portions. Service can be a bit spotty, but overall recommend.

We got into town about 11am (first time in aspen) and stopped a local on the street. she recommended BB's so we went. The brunch was off the hook. Shrimp and Grits? really? but it was awesome. We ordered the bananas foster to split for desert. Great move. Came back 3 days later to see what dinner was like. they hit a home run on that too! we ordered the black truffle pizza as an appetizer, unique.

A very nice addition to the Aspen restaurant & bar scene. They have a great patio with beautiful views of the mountain peaks and the Aspen cityscape (such as it is). The indoor bar/lounge is nice too. Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. Good selection of wines by the glass. I would like to see more variety on the menu, however, including more robust salads and other vegetarian dishes. I'd also like to compliment the service by the bartender in the lounge area. We were the last people there in the evening. A LOT of places in Aspen would have hinted that we should leave so they could close up. The bartender here dropped off our check but made it clear that we should let him know if we wanted anything else. He also offered my friend a half-glass of wine (since she had been working on her glass a lot longer than me, so I had a lot more in my glass). What gracious level of service -- other Aspen establishments could learn a lot from that!

Had a great meal here - wonderful staff that really went above and beyond to make my kids feel welcome, a gorgeous view, and delicious food. Terrace seating is really nice and inside has a great decor. A great addition to the Aspen dining scene - we'll definitely be back!

The food was CRAZY GOOD! The octopus appetizer was superb, the taster meats were delectable, the bread and biscuits were heavenly. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. The decor was modern and a bit eclectic, looking out onto an art gallery was a fun backdrop. The entrees were delicious: the spaghetti and meatballs were the best ever, truly al dente, my truffle and fontina pizza was subtle and tasty, the steak and the pork chops were excellent, done just right and well seasoned. We did two desserts: the apple cobbler was so rich and flavorful, the cheesecake I couldn't taste, my daughter, the cheesecake connoisseur , polished it off! We can't wait to return for breakfast. An impressive meal.

I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised by all the positive reviews here... perhaps we caught them on an off day. Remarkably disorganized... like a place that has only been open for a week and they are still working out the kinks. The hostess was hopelessly overwhelmed, though it really wasn't all that crowded. She was taking names from some people and telling other people that she didn't take names... Sometimes people would come up and she'd tell them they'd have to wait; sometimes she'd seat them right away... She was running around, visibly flustered, snapping at customers. The more people who came up to complain that people who arrived long after them had just been seated, the worse it got. And the entire time there were 3 wide open tables within plain view. Hostessing at a popular restaurant can be a really tough job, and unfortunately, this girl really, really wasn't up to the task. After we were seated, one waitress came up and took our drink orders, and then disappeared. After waiting a good 10 minutes a different waitress came up and tried to take our drink orders... we told her that the other girl had already taken them, but that we were still waiting. She turned and walked off in a huff. Then a waiter came over with one of our drinks and said, "ok, that's it, right?" and we let him know that we were still waiting for 2 bloody mary's and a coffee. Eventually the second waitress came back with the bloody's, but still no coffee... The bloody mary's (BB's, not BLT) were not great. They had an odd fishy/watery after taste... I think they might use clamato or something. We ordered our food and waited. At one point our waitress dropped off a small place with some peach preserves and what looked like butter and then walked away without a word. We were trying to figure out who's dish it was for, so when I saw the waitress again, I asked her if it was for the pancakes. She looked at me like it was the most ridiculous question she'd ever heard, and then muttered, "it's for the toast" and walked away. It wouldn't have gone well with the rye toast my friend ordered (she was the only one) but that's ok, because they brought her white toast instead. Burnt on one side, with that side conveniently face down. My pancakes started out good, but but the time I got to the middle, they were completely undercooked and gooey. The ceviche tasted pretty good, but it was made with shrimp rather than fish, so a bit chewy, and heavy on the tomato. I suppose it was supposed to be Ecuadorian. All in all, the food wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either (except for the breakfast sausage, yum). The worst part was the service though. Our waitress couldn't find a smile, in fact she bordered on surly. After taking our orders, she never checked on us again... No, "how is everything? Can I get you anything else?" No, "I notice you only drank a sip of your bloody, did you not like it??". Nothing. Not even after we were long done with our meal. I finally had to flag her down to ask for the check, and she barely acknowledged me. And then suddenly she's all sunshine and roses when she brings us the check. Sorry, too late to start trying to earn your tip now. Again, maybe we caught them on a bad day, but I'm not in Aspen often, and I'm not going to waste my time there giving them another chance. Very disappointed.

Loved being able to eat outside, under am umbrella on the patio. I ordered the roast chicken, which was excellent. My wife ordered the fish of the day which came undercooked for her liking. She had to return it twice each time to be cooked more (we learned that the chef didn't like it cooked as much as she did but did it anyway). But the dinner was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful (they offered to take our picture) and the prices a bit more than I anticipated but the ambiance made up for it.

We were here for Sunday brunch service, and cannot comment on the adequacy of their dinner service. You enter this place and you know you are in Aspen - the patio setting with beautiful hills in view, the well dressed and slightly aloof wait staff and an air of nonchalance. However, after spending a few moments and having gotten the plate you ordered, you realize how dark the scene in the kitchen must be! You feel the pain of the cooks and the crew, forced into labor on a Sunday morning. The chef must have fought with the owner, rebelling against this age old ruthless custom called 'brunch' which seeks to destroy the kitchen, but the owner won. Alas, the fate trickled down to the eggs. The poor eggs who had nothing to do with this fight, suffered the most. The cook in his dark moments (and who can blame him), decided to torture the omelette by putting it in a plastic-omelette-making-gizmo bought on HSN for 5 bucks. It came out sad and debilitated, with no texture or taste, not beaten, having not seen the pan, none of the soft custardy nature we have so fondly come to associate with an omelette. The eggs suffered the most, but I cannot even talk about the potatoes..they were simply *sniff* Just hope, Frodo is not too late...
